We came here on the recommendation of a local who told us that Uncle Billy's was the best Chinese restaurant in Perth. I don't know about that but the food was good, the service was fast, the portions were generous and the prices were reasonable.
C. K.Great Chinese food, the salt and pepper squid is a must try. Very fresh and we'll seasoned. I always order this from the menu when I visit or order takeaway. They also do an amazing fried rice, something that's hard to get right. This is my go to Chinese restaurant. The staff is also lovely.
S. N.Dined into Uncle Billy’s as you do on an action-packed Saturday night. Feeling quite intoxicated still whilst ordering food, I had forgotten if my usual order was the honey chicken or the lemon chicken. After asking the elderly and uncharitable waitress what was the more popular chicken, she replied with the lemon chicken being the most popular, I began to question whether I usually get the lemon chicken and the waitress began to lay her frustrations upon me in an aggressive tone stating that “honey chicken is covered in honey sauce and lemon chicken is covered in lemon sauce”. After making me feel like an utter degenerate, I quickly rushed my decision (while holding back the tears) into ordering the lemon chicken which i eventually discovered was not what my usual order was and thus ruined my Saturday night.

Combination fried rice with loads of tasty seafood will not disappoint.
This time I tried the sizzling satay beef which was delicious.

We had the stir fried kangkung with fermented bean curd, jer jer chicken and steamed pork mince with salted fish. The dishes came with steamed rice. We left with happy faces and satisfied tummies.

Y.Good Chinese food, prices are a little high for a Chinese restaurant but worth it for the 4AM closing time. Sizzling Japanese tofu is great, would recommend. Mei cai cou rou (pork with pickled vegetables claypot) wasn't authentic - not enough of the pickled vegetable, not authentic flavour - but tasted nice as a normal stewed pork dish.
Rice $2.20 per person, card surcharges under $35.
M. K.I would give it 3.5 stars if I had a choice. Soup was ok. The wanton s were delicious. The hor fun was alright for the taste but the flat noodles were too chewy. They have child seats. Slightly pricy..

Seems like the staff here always try to please and exceed expectations, one thing I believe that sets them apart from other Chinatown restaurants. One occassion that sticks out for me is our waitress' accommodation to my celiac friend whom helped us order gluten free food with no problems at all. My mate loves Chinese food and she loves Uncle Billy's so it was very comforting and it felt like we were in good hands. We appreciated it very much.
Food arrives hot every time and I'm always pleased with the dishes quality. My go to dishes are salt and chili squid tentacles and stir fry beef ho fun noodles during late night adventures. Early morning hours I will get some dumplings or a chicken congee. Also, they serve a mean, notoriously, indulgent deep fried mars bar. My mouth waters when I hear the name Uncle Billy's! Yum.
It's a good vibe here and everyone that goes set a unique and friendly atmosphere. It's a comfy type of environment, really good to bring mates and banter over dinner.
Overall, Billy's is a beloved landmark in Perth that many treasure. I appreciate the place and have made some very good memories here, I hope it never changes.

if you want to try this restaurant i recommend going there before food hours since it might get crowded and you could wait for an hour. customer service is decent, but sometimes it might get a bit hard to talk with them because most of the staffs are from China and their english is pretty horrible.

It doesn't look like much but after going to a number of places that were closed (we were eating early before the theatre on a Wednesday) we tried Uncle Billy's. Our 5 year old loves dim sum so it was great we could order both dim sum dishes like juicy pork buns, steamed buns and some regular stir fry dishes. We also had chicken and sweet corn soup. Everything was fresh and tasty. Good portion sizes. Not too expensive either. Reccomend for family friendly or casual dining.

L.This place is always lit. Asked if there was a table (outside) where we could smoke and we were told we could smoke upstairs. Curious, we sat at the table upstairs and were then compeltely ignored for 15 minutes. When we asked the waiter if we could smoke he questioned if we were Australian citizens. Customer service is literally always abysmal but it's always open and the food is alright, 5 stars for an experience like no other

J. D.Always bustling on a weekend night. The atmosphere and decor are definitely not reasons to come here. The food however, should not be missed. If you live in Perth, at least one night out should end with uncle Billy's squid tentacles and Marmite chicken.
There is rarely a wait for groups of 2-4, but larger groups should plan ahead.
t. r.This restaurant is a Perth institution. Late night in Northbridge or Perth central and feel like something to eat after midnight. Forget about kebabs, do yourself a favour and get something decent to eat. All the usual favourite Chinese dishes. My personal favorite is the white fish, snow peas and lotus roots. Friday and Saturday nights are loud and fun. You may be seated at a round table with people you've never met. Take it as an opportunity to laugh and enjoy the company.

Seems to be a very popular place with the younger generation for large get togethers, but be advised that the acoustics of the premises are terible, so large groups of noisy people are amplified spoiling an otherwise pleasant dining experience.

An enormous choice of dishes (possibly too many) to choose from with multiple choices of protein. They are accommodating to dietary requirements and provide attentive service. A great choice for casual dine in or takeaway in the heart of Northridge.

T. T.Late night supper with my cousin. First thing after a 4-hour flight from Melbourne. It was 2.30 AM greeted by the owner, we sit and ordered few dimsum meals accompanied with chilli pepper deep fried squid. The dimsum were freshly steamed but tasted just okay. It was empty when we arrived but some customers could be seen filling up quarter of the space in few minutes after we took our seats. The customer service was good, at least the guy tried to speak our local language.
