Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. The ambience was sensational for a date night. The food was flawless. The service was great. The pianists renditions of felicita and solo noi, literally brought tears to my eyes, thinking of the food and family in Italy. Finished my meal with a shot of my first ever Strega liqueur, don't know why I never had it before but glad future shots will remind me of Alfredo's. Thank you team for a memorable evening.

Traditional decor with upstairs and a downstairs bar. Extensive menu with local delicacies. Service is excellent. We had Garlic Bread and Balmain Bugs to start....very tasty and a must! This was followed by 1 lamb and 1 Beef Sirloin.....the lamb was yummy....cooked perfectly! For desert a delicious semi-Fredo All washed down with a very good Marg River Chardonnay! At busy times make a reservation!

Fantastic place for all occasion and incredible Italian food and cocktail drinks. The dining place upstairs is more formal. You can chill and have your food at the underground pub. Food wise definitely recommend the homemade large Ravioli with peasant, its the best Ravioli I ever had. Drinks wise, let the bartender Codris create something. It's an art what he does and it's always delicious, he's a good conversationalist as well. Incredible staff and service, so glad I found this gem.

I went to Alfredo last night with some of my girls for a late birthday celebration and just a good night out. Alfredo has a really good atmosphere and such friendly and helpful staff. For dinner we ordered two pestos, large ravioli dish and the gnocchi. Everything was beautiful only criticism was the pesto was very oily for the two people eating it. Overall a good night and would go back.

Came here on a quiet Monday night. What a gem. The king prawn salad was nicely grilled with a touch of chilli olive oil. Pasta has always been my favourite food and these two dishes were absolutely delicious. Hardness and chewiness were spot on and very fresh clams and crab meat to finish off the two perfectly done dishes. Just became my most favourite Italian place in Sydney.

Restaurant has a great atmosphere and the service was very kind and fast. Order did come wrong though. I found the taste of the food to be a bit bland and the sizes to be quite small (even though I've order the large portion option). Given it is not a cheap restaurant, I wasn't very satisfied with the cost benefit of it all.

I enjoy coming here, great service and food Have some feedback -i think the tip on the EFTPOS machine before paying is a little pushy, and the bloke staring at me expectantly wasn't a comfortable experience. Aus doesn't have a tipping culture, if you want extra it should be added in the food cost. -cocktails are a little pricey

The hospitality is amazing! When I entered I had an empty ice cream cup! The owner himself took it from me and put it in bin! All the staff was very nice! I was given glutenfree veggie options nicely! May be that’s why I was really looking forward to the food! The food took 20 min to arrive and considering am asking veggie gluten free it was understood! But my pasta was not completely cooked. It was a bit hard to chew! The taste was amazing but I did not have time to call it out to the staff!

A Sydney gem. A truly homely Italian atmosphere, service and menu. Seems to be an owner-operated restaurant. The person serving on the night we were there was a fairly mature, knowledgeable and well-mannered Italian man, with unusual experience by the standards of Sydney restaurant staff. Great recommendations of wine and the best home-made grappa I’ve ever tried. His advice on dishes and portions was also very thoughtful and honest. The menu was concise enough to give you confidence that everything on it is well-selected, which turned out to be true when the food came out. The dishes were not only very tasty, but quite authentic by commercial Italian restaurant standards. It’s Napoli cuisine, if I remember correctly. I am told the place has been here for decades, but I only noticed it a few weeks ago, despite having passed by many times. It seems they aren’t much into the marketing, but that makes it fairly easy to get a table and enjoy some quiet dinner time. Not that it was empty, but the other patrons in attendance were all mature and well-mannered people, who seemed like regulars. The prices are great value given the location and quality of food and service. I can’t think of a better Italian restaurant I could recommend in Sydney at this time.

A small work function here on a Wednesday night. Loved it here and will be back again. In our group of 9 all the food was enthusiastically devoured. The fresh tagliatelle with lamb was delicious. Also excellent wine selection. Lies in the higher priced region but is well worth the visit.

We were greeted by really polite and smiley people, which for me is such an important start to a fantastic evening! Ordered oysters, as fresh as can be and the Risottino alla Piamontese. The risoto was spectacular and the beef stew was so tender it seemed to just melt in my mouth. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a great dinner out in Sydney!

Haf $ Happy hour till 7 w very good selections of red wine(not all in the menu) and cocktails and etc. Had a wonderful time before dinner upstair!!!!

I made a last minute booking here for Friday night. From the moment we walked in we knew we were well looked after. The ambience (along with the live Piano music) was a great touch! The service was great and genuine and the food was delicious! The team clearly communicated well with each other and even offered some guests the opportunity to play some live music themselves! What an awesome day at Alfredo Authentic Italian Restaurant the atmosphere well I have never been to Italy but this Restaurant takes you there. The is, wonderful I would recommend Calamari crumbed with a white sauce, Penna Alla Maria just the right spices and the Spaghetti Marana with a rich Spaghetti sauce was truly amazing plus the Mussels were truly delicious these are only some of delicious food served to us the other day.

Cozy atmosphere, the underground bar is very nice to have some drinks before or after. We went a group of 7 girls to celebrate our friend’s birthday. The staff was very friendly and took care of us all the time. They even surprised our friend with a birthday candle on her desert and the waitress was so nice and even sang the birthday with us ! The food was very good, decent sizes and very tasty, the only thing is that the food took a long time to arrive to the table, but in general was very good, I would recommend this place and definitely I’ll be back to eat their delicious gnocchi.

It's a nicely presented restaurant, it has got a bit of an old school vibe and it's clean. The floors creak and if someone was walking around on the floor above, you will most certainly hear it. I did love the atmosphere of the place, it had a good feel to it. The food was alright but I wouldn't rush back for more. The Balmain bugs and scampi (I have a feeling that it was king prawns not scampi) were a bit on the dry side, their saving grace was the sauce. It was nice but not wow and not worth the price. For a place that has so many seafood items on the list, I was expecting better.

I previously rated this place very highly, and was very excited to take my partner here as we usually don’t have Italian, but had to because my first experience was great. Food quality is great, atmosphere is still romantic and charming. However this time was unfortunately marred by a rude waiter. He was blunt, didn’t reply to us or acknowledge us at all when he served our table or when we said thank you. When he first asked if we were ready to order, we asked for a few more minutes and he walked off before we could finish the sentence. When our mains came, he offered my partner Parmesan, and then turned away without even looking at me. I asked if I could have some too, to which he replied “no, your meal is very cheesy already and it does not need more”. I was a bit upset by this reply as it was not very professional, very blunt and frankly I think I am allowed to decide how much cheese I would like on my pasta... I have had this main before. He should have instead recommended not to top it with more Parmesan as the meal was already topped with baked Parmesan, but if I wanted more he could do so. Instead after saying no, he walked away. Obviously not wanting to seem rude by calling him back, I left it. The other waitresses were very lovely and so was the ?boss (in red dress shirt). We did have a brief word with him about said waiter being rude and curt, to which he apologised for and offered us a drink. We said no, since we aren’t trying to get anything for free. I probably won’t be back for a while due to this dining experience, unfortunately. I hope when I do come back the service will be better.

I have been going here for 15 years. In that time I've had spectacular, and excellent meals, never a bad one. The specials are always special, the pasta is to die for, the wine list is excellent and te service is great. I particularly like the angel pasts with Lobster. The best thing is it has a great atmosphere, Alfredo is fantastic, and it is consistently excellent.

When all you want is an authentic Italian restaurant, Alfredo’s, with its crisp white table linen, great atmosphere, wonderful food, splendid selection of wine, and a superb City location, is the only option. Try any one of the homemade dishes listed in their menu for a treat you’ll come back for. The homemade pheasant ravioli had been a favourite of mine over the last eight years, and I’d recommend it to everyone! Perfect for a meal with friends, a romantic night out, or even a family get together. The desserts aren’t too shabby either 👍🏽

We went to Alfredo's with a large group of 23 on Wed 28 Sep. One of the reasons we chose Alfredo's was because they did not insist that we order from a set menu, unlike many other restaurants we inquired at. We were made to feel extremely welcome and the service throughout the night was excellent. We did not have to wait too long for our food and we were able to all eat together despite being such a large group. The food was delicious and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I would definitely recommend Alfredo's for either an intimate meal or a large group function. Thank-you for making our evening such a success!

The food is excellent as is the ambience. Our Crew Hotel is right next door and we have dined there many times. It is recommended only for the food and my rating reflects that as the Staff appear to be bored with their jobs and give rather off-hand service. What a pity! If they could give just that extra bit of effort with a smile and a welcome .... It would have been 5 stars. However we will all continue to visit if only for the excellent pianist.

Probably my favorite restaurant in Sydney. I could eat 10 plates of the grilled calamari and still want more, it's that good. I've had 6 or so different dishes there and enjoyed every bite of every meal. It's not cheap by any means, but I'd eat there for every meal if I could.

Alfredo is a Sydney institution. Any place that can survive in Sydney that long deserves some respect. Unfortunately I think that iconic status has become a yoke. The food is good, and the portions are big, but it's very expensive. $46 for Villa Maria sauvignon blanc, now one of the worst available Kiwi savs?! $25 for an entree and $40 for a main (pasta) means either the food is exceptional or you're selling to tourists. I suspect the latter. The service is pretty impersonal. Again, at that price is reasonable to expect something pretty good. Sorry guys, but your neighbour has it all over you.

I travel all over Australia for my job and I have been to just about every 5 star hotel in the entire country, so I am very familiar with the quality of Australian restaurants and bars. This establishment is something special, hidden in an alleyway the food here is just spectacular but that's not what makes this place special. Alfredo's underground is one of, if not the best cocktail bar in the country. This is largely due to thier incredible bartender who will invent the most amazing creations when you've run out of ideas yourself. Make sure you are paying this man well! Il migliore di sempre!

Outstanding!! We had the tuna and beef ceviche, natural oysters, lobster noodles and grilled seafood and it was all beautiful. Service is amazing and it's a lovely little spot. It wasn't too expensive either. Do yourself a favour and check it out, you won't be disappointed
