Comments of Bill & Toni Italian Restaurant
J. L.
Great service, great atmosphere, good value. It’s a place like homemade foods, I like it.
M. C.
Excellent pizzas and pastas for our group. An institution that still has that cordial. Old world charm.
K. L.
It was my first time to be here and it was quite impressive. Service was good and staff was friendly. Me and my partner ordered the pork chop meal and it was fantastic!!! Tasty, good portions and reasonable priced.
We were seated on the balcony on the second floor which is a bit crammed but acceptable.
Overall experience is very good and will definitely come again in the future.
B. K.
Our kid picked this place! We were standing on the street after a museum visit, trying to decide what to eat and my little one asked for pasta so we went straight in. I actually used to work around the corner and never tried this place out. Service was quick, we noticed there was families around and they were getting constant service which was a good sign.
Once food was ordered, took a bit of time (20+ minutes), but no complaints once the spaghetti Bolognese came out. Perfect sauce and Al dente pasta. Pizza base wasn't that great but we were fine with it. Husband did make mention that the meal could do with more fresh herbs. Overall not a bad lunch choice.
I. D.
The salmon was the best i had. The meat lovers pizza was also very good.
D. M.
Good value lunch deals, service is a little slow
N. F.
I wasn't really impressed. My main meal was served on a cold plate. My food was abit on the Cold Side. The 3 other Diners I was with really enjoyed their meal. I of the 3 was a qualified Chef.
R. P.
Remincent of the 70's the portions and Decor remains the same. The food has changed slightly, however it's still much of the same. I had the veal combo ($27 and was $7 when I first come here in late 79). Chicken Parmesan is an institution here and spawned many restaurants in the burbs to copy. Great flavours and simple fair. I think most of the people reviewing here don't get what this place is about, simple fair. I can tell it's got new management but it's very much 95% in the old tradition of Bill and Toni's and that's a good thing.

Been a while, good to see some things haven't changed too much.
salad with every meal has gone 😞

One of the first cafes in Sydney and still the best. To be surrounded by all ages, by all creeds and all styles of people is the true joy of a cafe. At Bill and Toni's, the simple decore, long history, friendly staff and accessible menu mean that everyone feels welcome.
S. M.
Quite a nice Italian restaurant close to the centre of Sydney CBD. Food is tasty and reasonably priced. The staff service was amazing.

It's been many years since I've been to Bill & Toni's and when I returned it was comforting to see it still looked the same, especially the red and white chequered tablecloths, although I do miss the blackboard menu. However, all the regulars were on there and as such how could I resist the classic spaghetti bolognese. It was unfortunate that it didn't live up to my memory, and whilst there was plenty of meat in the sauce it was very dry and without any flavour. The herb bread did fare any better, toasted bread sprinkled with dry herbs and a drizzle of olive oil lacked flavour and the dry herbs just stuck to my mouth. I really hope Bill & Toni's can rediscover it's magic but until it does I can't see I'll be back.

Really nice little spot. Two really cool pin ball machines, and really nice coffee (they also offer soy, and oat milk coffee, not sure what else). But really nice coffee so easy to recommend them.
B. T.
A home away from home since 1986, that first coffee is more important than life itself, thank you Claude Eve Ruby and team
B. G.
Sadly...no grilled liver for those as I who know that the Liver is grilled to perfection here. The quality of liver..is currently unavailable. Gosh...I've been secretly eating liver there over 20 years...don't tell the wife. She said...have the Seafood Brodo..no this is not a story of the rings in Mordor...really it isn't. This Brodo...it is no..it didn't come out of the shire...it was made by Dom the Chef...there are not enough words to describe the qualities of this sensational meal. My image's tell it all...the two big prawns???
The size of Scampi. This meal when eaten...must be accompanied by their legendary Bill & Tonys Cordial...a ½&½...passiona cordial H²O..&some Frizzante water. My wife had a Huge Schnitzel tasty...but have the Brodo....oh my God I'm counting the days to go back there !!!!
A. D.
I've been coming to Bill & Toni's since the 80's and I just can't go past ordering the veal schnitzel & cheese every time. It's the best.. A few things have changed over the years. You no longer get the free bowl of lettuce with dressing but they now give you carrots & broccoli with the schnitzel instead. Not a bad trade off but prefer the lettuce & dressing. Unfortunately the biggest disappointment was the size of the schnitzel. Don't get me wrong it's still a reasonable size but definitely not like the old days. In saying that it still tastes the same, fantastic, so I'll be back. Great to see the free cordial & bread still going after so long. Thanks guys, you're an institution.
S. K.
Great coffee, and a good cheap meal if you are in the mood for one.
PS so nice to have a cup of soccer that is served to you in a cup and not a paper cup due to covid. Lol
This place is like Cheers where everyone knows your name.
A. W.
Relaxed little cafe that just off the King's Cross area. Food is alright, but not exceptionally, or well flavored. Food seemed heavily/overly salted for what it was and had a hint of heavily premade, rather then made to order feel. The main draws is the relaxed street view to people watch.
K. W.
From the minute we walked in to the minute we left, we had a very welcoming and lovely experience. The food was exceptional and very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back!
C. C.
The Bacon and Egg sandwich is in the top two I've ever had in Australia over the last 11 years. If like me you've been struggling to find a decent Egg and Bacon since leaving the UK then look no further than Bill & Toni's
N. R.
I have been going here for so many years and will forever. It is one of my happy places, love the coffee and the staff.
A. T.
This restaurant serves good Italian food.
A complimentary jar of fresh drink & bread & butter is served for the patron to enjoy.
Cash only.
S. K.
Coffee is fine for Sydney standards, although does not represent good value anymore (price increase 33% while the glass is almost half the size it was a few years back)
s. c.
Get in here for Awesome pizza nd cozy environment. They dont serve alcohol though but you can buy from outside and bring it in.
We ordered for two of us a large spinach, parmesan cheese Pizza for $23. Worth it !
M. Y.
Smashed advacado brekkie is good, but some of the barristas (?) don't know their coffees
S. R.
A long established jewel of Stanley Street, this italiano cafe e restaurante has dished us up many a dish pre 2017, and upon our return to the area, we were quick to walk down William St to grab a nostalgic feed from Bill & Toni's.
We hadn't heard that a fire had gone through between visits, but when we asked if there were new owners we heard the tale and welcomed the new management with hopes of familiarity to come.
They kept the cordial coming (great!) And the meals were hearty. Overall the scene was very similar, the Food filled our hungry bellies and it didn't break the budget! Thanks for a good feed. Still recommend the place.
A. T.
Very good home made ravioli - just the right amount of filling with a nice firm casing.
The Vongle was the special of the night, but needed a lot more garlic to balance out the chillies.
Meat balls is homely and side dish was standard boiled veg.
Overall still a good no frills go to for Italian but it isn't value for money it once was.
Staff was quick and attentive.
R. C.
You pay for what you get - size > taste, in this case. The Lamb Shanks were tender, but was a bit salty for my liking. Marinara was acceptable.
Order came out late, wrong twice, but they tried their best, and that I was thankful for!
B. M.
Had lunch today and it was very nice. I think they had an issue so our food wasn’t in the system (it happens, it’s okay) so the lady who took our order came to apologize. She was very kind, we really appreciate that. Thank you again and we will come back soon.
T. T.
Good old school Italian. Hard to go past the schnitzel and pasta combo.
B. E.
Still wonderful. My first time since mid 1970s. Won't be my last. Consistent across the decades and even the spag bol tastes as remembered. Next time I will try their wine...small list... great value without the Sydney gouging mark up. Bravo to a Sydney institution!
D. S.
The family atmosphere prevails through the restaurant, with friendly service, great menu and a neat and tidy layout.
Though quite busy when we arrived, yet the kitchen handled our orders easily and with a smile.
T. S.
This has been a favourite for years. You can sit downstairs in the cafe and watch a large cross-section of Sydneysiders go about their day. This is somewhat of a Sydney institution with the al-la-carte restaurant upstairs serving traditional Italian meals that are very generous. The staff are all having fun and most have been working here for many years. The cafe downstairs has amazing Cafe style food, delicious coffee and pinball. Try the ‘half Special on Focaccia’
F. H.
Valuable food with incredible services. Sorry we were 8 people back there but they still did the best. Well done team.
M. M.
Had a hot chocolate, so not sure about the food but met friendly and helpful staff, the place has a great and very authentic small italian restaurant atmosphere (felt like home, I tell you that) and outdoor seating was just nice. Thank you! Definitely will be back!
P. M.
A really good ambience, the restaurant felt authentic Italian Australian. Price are quite reasonable, service is great and meal portions are large. Meal quality is average. We don't plan on returning.
C. J.
Have been visiting since...let's day a long time. Coffee and pinball or just people watching.
j. b.
Feels like home cooked italian meal, great place to go with group of mates or with families, food is reasonably priced.
M. B.
Use to eat here with my family when I was a child. Cane here tonight with my husband and daughter, now I'm all grown up, and loved that the place hadn't changed much, except for maybe the styling of the cafe downstairs I believe.
The restaurant had all your classic expected Italian dishes from your pastas, lasagna to osso bucco and also has a desert and wine menu. I would recommend the veal or chicken with a side of spagethi bolognese if your very hungry at dinner.
Was lovely service and nice to bring back memories of my childhood. Saw my mother's artwork hung under the arch where the downstairs cafe is.
There are two pinball machine and downstairs to play for two dollars.
Great for a date night or family to feed the kids
P. A.
Haven't been here for a while but their Minestrone soup was outstanding and even the chocolate milkshake was done the old fashioned way with milk, ice cream and flavouring served in the old fashioned grey metal flask !
D. V.
I love going to this gem of a little place.
The chef is always friendly and comes out to the table and says hello, making sure everything is okay.
The food portions are always large tasty and fresh it reminds me of the good all days going to Italian restaurants.
N. P.
I enjoy going there for breakfast, the staff is lovely, you feel very welcome. Coffee is on spot 👌, the food is basic (see it as a plus) with fresh and good products. Overall experience is great.
C. N. D.
A wonderful place for good food with friends and family.
When you walk in you feel the relaxed atmosphere of a family cafe. Pin ball machines, simple tables and chairs and good old fashioned quality food.
Always a smile and good manners, quality service and quality food. It's obvious why Bill & Toni's has been a Darlinghurst institution for decades.
They just need to change their coffee blend. Please!!!!
M. M.
Loved it, very Italian, food is nice and service is great!
K. O.
What a great place with real history, and it's top quality food at a bargain price.
P. B.
Best value Italian in Sydney. The food is top quality. Great chef. Excellent staff. Atmosphere top notch. Can’t fault it.
T. N.
To be honest this place is looking a little old but I guess that's the look they're going for after 30 or 40 years of being a Sydney icon. I don't know if it's the same management from years gone by but midweek dining is still nice. The place really excels as an original Italian cafe... complemented with sorbets and ice creams. Signature dishes are still spectacular.
T. F.
I love the atmosphere here. The staff are friendly (and funny), the coffee & hot chocolates are beautiful and the food upstairs is great value. Definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.
S.
AMAZING italian place, very clean, the owner is very polite came to apologies himself when what we ordered wasn't ready to go.
AMAZING service.
Thank you
G. A.
Delicious food, good sized meals, fast and friendly service. Overall good value. See you again soon
H. E. h.
The best place for salads👌🏼 And the service is very good!
S. S.
Great food. Simple yet tasty. Generous portion sizes. Great value for money. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is cheerful. Ther pinball machines downstairs are fun too!
f. Y.
My boyfriend and I have been going here for two years. We’re obsessed. A few minor changes to the menu because of the new owners. Except we can still really appreciate and the orange cordial 😍
M. L.
Came here on a Monday night with a few mates. It was quite busy and the vibe is still there. Been a patron for 16 years now and I can confidently say that the 4 schnitzel cheese combo we ordered still taste the same as ever before. Faces come and go but the taste and quality remain the same. Kudos to all involved👌
V. M.
Great, affordable Italian restaurant. Terrific buzz on Friday and Saturday nights, but quieter on Sunday. Large well-cooked and presented dishes. Good value wines and BYO - wine and beer - option. So impressed we visited twice during our stay in Darlinghurst.
D. M.
very nice waiters, pretty good food .. not long waiting times. I will came back next time.
D. 8.
This is a beautiful casual restaurant. It has great food, friendly staff and the service is very quick. I look forward to eating here again.
G. D. (. F.
Nice place, good food, excellent prices. All italian classics. Super tasty!!!
D. F.
The food was nice enough. Would have been better if the menu had pictures to see what you are getting. So plain veal schnitzel does come with vegetables, but you have to ask for sauce if you don't like eating dry food. Sauce doesn't cost any extra, so do ask for it.
H. M.
I am unable to fault the service and waitress that were working during my visit, although the food was a little bit lacking.
I had the veal schnitzel with cheese and a side of Bolognese which was quite watery. The price is fairly reasonable so i would probably return 🙂
C. B.
Great value for their toasted sandwiches coffee good too if you like it strong. Now with new owner look out for the price increases in everything. ... still a good place to watch the city do its thing
m. b.
The food and service was fantastic. We went back after a long time not coming here. Ordered spaghetti marinara, vegetable penne mediterranean salad and garlic bread. The food was very tasty, the service was fast and friendly. We met the head chef as we exited and he was lovely. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
J. P.
Everything was perfect. Service was fast, kind, and, accurate. The head chef came out to talk to us, and ask us how the meal went. Price was perfect and food was spectacular. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming and comfortable. Absolutley go here for some of the finest service and food.
A. C.
The menu has changed and the food is better. But some things remains the same - great value for money, great food, good service and no pretences.
M. F.
Somethings get better with time like this place. Simple honest food with all the flavour you could ask for. Generous portions with free bread and soft drink. Please, never ever change.
L. C.
I have been coming here for years always good for a late night coffee as used to make coffee till midnight. However a new owner has taken over and lately i have arrived around 11 pm to be told coffee machine is off. Not sure if this is at owner's directive or the staff taking advantage of the owner not being present. Maybe the owner can clarify this by way of an opening hours sign.
You don't want to start losing too many more customers. Just look at some of the reviews.
W. S.
Always reliable food at reasonable prices but a new chef has taken the food to a new level. Wonderful.
M. H.
Pretty average breakfast of poached eggs on toast with avocado served on a very well used plate that should have been retired years ago. Service was ordinary. The restaurant is tired and doesn't feel very clean. Unlikely to be back.
R. M.
Food is pretty good, probably deserves 3.5 stars really. But it is missing a bit of excitement on the menu in my opinion. If you you are looking for a big hearty meal, this could be the place for you. It's a local institution I understand.
P. V.
Friendly staff, prices are very economical and the coffee is great. A nice relaxed, no frills atmosphere.
B. L.
My favourite Italian resturaunt in Sydney. Good wholesome Italian fare and friendly service.
H. M.
Delicious meal and happy hospitality!
I went there on sunday night.
There was popular with local ppl.
I saw a black bord and it said meatball spaghetti was today's special but it was sold out. This was only thing to disappoint.
Highly recommended!
C. P.
Good to revisit my old stomping grounds. Had dinner with some old, dear friends back in Sydney for a break from the hustle and bustle of Esperance. Food still good in this humming little corner of Italy on the fringes of the Cross. Hard to find without tech, but easy to remember.
C. P.
I hope this place never changes
It's traditional, has homley comfort food at an extremely moderate price and it's been such an important staple in the sydney food scene for over 50 years. It's recent owner has added new menus to the tables and a bar set up with wine and beer, so it's no longer only only. It's a great updated without disrupting its authenticity or charm. You could easily feed two children on one plate of pasta, and with free bread and cordial it's a sure winner to be stuffed when you leave. If you're looking for upscale pretentious dining then this is not the place for You, however if you're into home style cooking like what your nonna makes, then you should stop by immediately.
M. N.
Nothing wrong with the service as far as not waiting and politeness so cannot complain about that.
The menu is on the wall and items are crossed off here and there which is not a great look but not the end of the world either.
Regarding the food, I could not understand why an Italian restaurant does not sell pizza but you can buy schnitzel?! However what I did have (sorry my Italian is not great) was not horrible but the presentation was a shocker. At least they did not skimp on the cheese but if I am paying for a meal I kinda hope it does not look like a rushed home cooked meal.
In the middle of the meal we were brought a bowl of lettuce leaves and by a bowl, I mean a steel mixing bowl. Oh and by lettuce I mean lettuce and nothing else. We were quite bemused and unsure what on earth we were meant to do with this! I assume that was the 'salad' that the menu says meals are served with.
Overall a very sub par experience, not inedible food by any means but would I go back and pay to eat there? No.
m.
Went back to Bill and Toni's Monday the 25th, have to say that on the occasion prior to this (2 years ago) we vowed never to return, but on Monday i found myself in close proximity and thought i would give it another go. Well it was like returning to the restaurant of days gone by, the service was great and the food was also fantastic. It was a nice reminder of the way it used to be done when Bill and Toni were still around.
J. E.
Still the same, and still love it! Always friendly, bread and cordial thrown in. The food is basic, but basically perfect. Pasta, schnitzel, noting fancy but great for a quick bite or especially a meal with kids.
M. P.
Beautiful meal and excellent service. Would absolutley recommend and I'm definitely heading back.
R. S.
Great coffee great food great service.
P. B.
There is no better cup of coffee in Sydney!
S. D.
Me and my friends came here at Bill and Toni’s last night, we had a the best osso buco and the schnitzel was made perfectly and of course we also had the Roast Chicken that was done very good. Should be coming back here to host parties with my friends! Love the free cordial also! ;)
S. S.
Food was amazing, recently change their chefs. Food was define would recommend to anyone.
A. v. d. M.
Authentic Italian at a budget price. This isn't 5 star but the prices are low so you get what you pay for. Generous servings but average quality food. Coffee and tea with the snacks downstairs are good.
N. H. (. T.
Bill & Toni is an old, solid icon. I don't drink coffee any longer but occasionally I step off tracks because you simply can't let their coffee go. Best in town.
U. a.
Food comes out quickly and it is a big proportion. The only problem we had was that our bolognese sauce was very salty and in the end unedible. They probably need to check this
M. W.
Only ever been to the cafe downstairs, but there is nowhere I'd rather go for that morning coffee and simple but tasty food. The service can range from exemplary to down-right rude, but that's part of the charm/atmosphere that makes this place a 'morning must' every time I'm in Sydney.
J. T.
A long standing stalwart of the Sydney CBD cheap eats scene. Good value, consistent menu, entirely predictable. If you're after simple, tasty, classic Italian dishes, this is your venue.
N. L.
I have only been here once but this place great. Very cheap, authentic Italian food. Most Italian food is quite expensive but this place is very affordable.Tucked away on a side street, it is often missed which is quite unfortunate. If anyone is around the area and feel like Italian food, pop in and give it a go.
M. G. G.
Cozy restaurant with lovely staff. Food was good for a reasonable price
J. M.
i havn't been to this institution for years. Awesome. Great food and service. so glad im back. cant wait to return
V. X.
I had a really lovely waitress who served me and since I was indecisive on what to order, I asked for her suggestion and it seemed the popular dish of the day was the spinach and ricotta canneloni for $12 which was fantastic! Al dente pasta sheets wrapping the generous spinach and ricotta filling, topped with a home-made not from the jar tomato pasta sauce. I like the touch of the complimentary bread which came in handy to mop up the sauce and the signature orange cordial.
m. s.
there is no where in Sydney that even compares to Bill & Toni's, there is something that is just. SYDNEY, about it. you feel as though you are going in to an Italian Australian home and you get service like you are their best friend. I have been going here for years, and every time i go back home to Sydney its the first place i go. anyone who gives this place a bad review has gone there under false pretenses. THIS PLACE IS NOT FINE DINING, this place is a hearty Italian home made dinner. on laminate tables with 100 other people, the atmosphere is bubbling and electric, and the orange juice is just perfect. I would recommend this place to ANYONE who visits Sydney, because it gives you a good cross section of the people, be it, backpackers or multimillionaire bankers and celebrities, i have seen people of all walks of life in Bill & Toni's.
C.
Nice place and pasta portions are huge but meat portions were tiny and pesto was very mild. Would visit again but I'd try something else on the menu or just have some afternoon tea.
T. M.
Darlinghurst institution. Cheap, consistent, reliable. Great coffee. Spend an hour in the downstairs cafe and see Sydney. One warning. The pasta comes from the restaurant kitchen upstairs and can be second rate.
J. B.
Great pizza & pear salad.
A. G.
Hard to beat this place on value. $20 for a main and a side of pasta with all the salad bread and cordial your heart desires. And the food is excellent. I recommend the chicken parmigiano.
S. A.
This place is iconic! After all these years, Still the best place for focacias, coffee and dessert. A real gem.
A. A.
I really like their simple traditional Italian food here. The place has a good vibe to the place and it's cheap and cheerful place. The staff are friendly and the Cafe downstairs is good too.
P. S.
Brilliant as always. Wonderful coffee, FOCACCIA just like 1986 and pinnies! Great staff who remember your name and your order. Wonderful.
G. R.
Been a patron of Bill & Toni's for the past 30 years. They are consistent, affordable with generous portions and I believe make one of the best coffees in town
J. G.
They can't be beaten on high quality food with great value. I'm glad I visited here. The pasta combos are delicious and portioned generously.
L. S.
Lovely Coffee, matched with the business owners attitude.
K.
Pretty good food for the price, nothing overwhelming. The staff were lovely and sitting up on the balcony on a summer night is heaven.
R. 0.
Beautiful place, great food and coffee, super friendly staff 👍
J. D.
An eating institution. I can't count how many times I've eaten at Bill & Toni's in the past 20-odd years, but the value remains great, and the bolognaise is absolutely delicious. If you're not into bolognaise, try the schnitzel! It's also a winner.
Downstairs there is a cafe section with good coffee and good ice cream, but be prepared to play some pinball or some classic tabletop arcade games!
s. i.
Great service, great portions we had 3 tasty dishes only real issue was the chicken in the parmigiana was tough as nails either was pre cooked or just left to die on the hot plate.
T. M.
Came here for lunch today with my friends, i came to see what all the fuss was about and was absolutely so impressed with the food and service . no wonder this place has been going since 1965 . (and the pinballs are the best!) Definitely going to be coming back.
N. M.
Great coffee, good food. Has high chairs for the bubs and seems dog friendly.
A. C.
Fantastic service, and delicious Italian food at a really great price. Lots of variety. You definitely get what you pay for! A great place to eat great food and catch up :)
s. c.
Delicious food, big portions, nice service and very frienldy prices. Really worth to go for lunch or dinner.
G. H.
While the looks of the restaurant are very simple, the food is simply amazing. The portion of beef is giant, and you can combine it with pasta, while paying a very good price!
n. p.
A Sydney institution. I have been going since I was a child. The liver is good as are the stable of simple, filling Italian Australian classics.
Good coffee and juice as well
R. C.
Weekend coffees is the Best. A Thai lady makes the coffees just like in Italy. All staff with bright smiles, Coffe is A1 quality and the biscuits very fresh and very tasty. Recommend it. You'll never drink a better Coffe in Australia. The best.
Thank you Girls, Nok- BoPa and Maya. You girls add a smile every time.
S. a.
I love this place. Very nice customer service, great staffs and I really love the chicken parmigiana combination of spaghetti Bolognese. Perfect! I surely comback here again and again and next time with my friends.
S. S.
Worst coffe food is just as bad but in saying that been going there for 16 years staff are great rubys cool great place to catch up with freinds
A. P.
Food was reasonable Italian food. Served quickly. Service left a lot to be desired - pretentious and arrogant. There are better Italian restaurants within walking distance...
B. J.
I went to Bill and Toni's this week and I ordered meatballs with pasta and it was amazing and oh my God the Schnitzel with boscaiola pasta was so Good! Should be coming back again!
B. C.
A Sydney institution for classic Italian coffee shop.
It is a no frills venue full of history, and a simple at easy vibe.
Real espresso coffee drinks that pack a punch, and traditional Italian treats like canoli, pastini mandorla etc.
You can even knock over a few games of pinball to work off that 3rd coffee hit!
B. M.
Bill & Toni's is a classic. Slightly worn around the edges, but whenever I have a focaccia craving you will find me in the cafe on the ground floor. The restaurant is also simple, but has some good options and is open fairly late.
A. M.
The portions are huge. Don't order the combo. Our dishes were 50/50 though. The service was better than decent, but I wouldn't call it good.
H. M.
Economic servings but surprisingly long wait times. Plenty of potential but need to increase speed of service.
h. e.
Delicious food, generous servings, great hospitality all at an inexpensive price. I'm already recommending this place to my friends and family.
C. k.
Excellent slop nosh.. and Combo.. schnitzel and pasta on the same plate.. woahhh yeahhhh...
P. R.
The place was nice and cozy. We went there for coffee in the evening.. waitress was nice and friendly. Place was quite and we spent quality time there.
C. G.
Average food and coffee, and the place felt very faded. Eat at the numerous other options nearby.
G. G.
Was more of a Sydney institution when Bill & Tony owned it & who could forget Eva!
Ruby & new crew do an admirable job. Location can't be beat.
G. T.
Used to come here over 20 years ago loving and still love it. Huge food portions great food. Great happy atmosphere.
P. L.
The solo seat on the balcony suited me. I hid behind a bouquet of freshly picked natives stuffed into a milkshake glass. It didn't become strategic until I decided I wanted bolognese. Penne was the only choice. I had to meet my parole officer after lunch and I couldn't turn up looking like there was blood spatter on my shirt. With a mouth full of food I noticed Frederico striding toward me in mismatched socks. He dealt in moody stimulants and I couldn't afford to be seen with him. Metres from impact he was intercepted by a leggy South American fiending for something unsavoury. I mopped up my bolognese with the bread and shot out. Crisis averted.
K. L.
Good for a quick and cheap eat. The food is always consistent with a jug of cordial, salad and bread supplied. The staff are friendly.
E. B.
So many childhood memories here. I remember burning myself on the hot parmigiana plate once. Rookie mistake. Cheap meals and good portions. Great for a family feed.
C. G.
The food here is authentic Italian and absolutely delicious. Service is friendly and attentive. A must go to restaurant in Sydney.
M. S.
Traditional Italian Trattoria in Sydney. Food is absolutely brilliant, good & honest. Been going here for the past 20 yrs. Great value.
M. S.
This is an institution. It has the best flat white coffee in the world and I have been everywhere, and has held this title since I first went there in 1993 and yes I am that old; I go waaay back! m
W. H.

A. J.
