The food was delicious and I would definitely recommend it if you like shared plates. The cocktails were also very good and worth the money. Overall the service was friendly and attentive especially given how busy they were. We booked relatively last minute for three so we chose to sit outside rather than on bar leaners in the window. The heaters were cranking and it was easier to have a conversation outside. If we had stayed inside where it was loud and there didn’t seem to be much social distancing going on, it could have been a different story. Overall I liked the place a lot and would come back and recommend it to others. Maybe just not while we are trying to limit large gatherings. (Dish came with more calamari. We’d already eaten some)

I loooove this place! I’ve been walking past Bondi Hardware pretty much every day and always wanted to stop for breakfast one day. Such a cool places with good vibes, awesome interior, friendly staff and amazing food.

Delicious!!! The food was awesome. All the meat was cooked perfectly. The only let down to me was the sauce that came with the steak was a little odd. I believe it was soya butter but to me it tasted a little like cake batter which was odd. Everything else was wonderful and I think the lamb was the star of the night. The food isn’t cheap but the portion sizes are quite good. For the 2 of us we had an entree, 2 mains and a dessert and were full. The staff are attentive and friendly. The decor was nice but we were towards the back of the restaurant and to me it was a touch too dark.

We tried the Hardware Feast banquet ($40pp for about 8 dishes). Food quality was good, but it took a really long time for the dishes to come out, probably took 1.5 hours to finish the whole meal. We'll come again to try the individual dishes. Sirloin steak, chicken wings and sweet potato fries were the highlights.

Atmosphere / Place (3.5*): nicely decorated place. Good for cozy & classy drinks with friends. Service is friendly and fast. However I think the space is not optimized or overly done so (i.e. I feel that we are all too close to other tables and seats). Food: (2.0*): - saganaki shrimp: (name misled me but all good), well cooked oven casserole with seafood, eggplants and feta. Shrimps were just right cooked which is very difficult to get right in iron cast casseroles. It was somewhat pleasant, but not good enough to make me order it next time. -Guac with black corn chips: this is when you really understand how much a place cares about the food they serve. I order the most simple thing sometimes to taste the ingredients. This was an overly diluted guac, almost runny and didn't taste good. Corn chips were also very low quality. They have got better ones in gourmet section in woolies.

Plant game strong in this cute neighborhood spot. Come to replenish your energy after a long day at the beach or to start your weekend with brunch. The ceviche tacos are cool and refreshing on hot days and the carafe of rosé spritzers goes along well and good for groups. Enjoy

Interesting space near the beach that appears to have different restaurants set up for a limited period of time (not sure how long). We went in December '16 and SoCal (the tex-mex eatery from Neutral Bay) has set up shop. The cocktails were really delicious (with fresh blue berries, mint, orange and lime) but the food is hit and miss. If you like Tex-Mex its definitely worth a shot while SoCal is in the area

Had the lamb and sweet potato pizza, lamb salad, and sweet potato fries and ever dish was excellent. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about what they serve. The full bar was a great bonus. The atmosphere is very chill with a comfortable beach feel. If you're visiting Bondi Beach or are a local looking for a good spot, I definitely recommend this place.

The food was tasty. Unfortunately the portions were small and we did not feel like it was worth the expense. We organised the $50 banquet for a group and everyone needed to ask around the table to ensure they could get a portion of food. The dessert was one brownie and a small scoop of ice cream amongst 4 people with no share plates given. The staff were pleasant to deal with. The food itself was really tasty. However the feeling was always as though they were trying to maximise their return and not the customer experience.

We came here without reservation on a busy night. The guy at the door was able to accommodate us very quickly at the bar. We shared different items of the menu and nothing was disappointing, they were small portions, but fresh and tasty. They have great cocktails. The staff was great and friendly, and definitely much better compared to some other bars in the area we experienced in our first visit to Bondi area. It was great choice to wrap up our visit to Bondi with this bar!

I celebrated my birthday in the beautiful Bondi Hardware secret garden last week. Every touch point from the initial contact was amazing. Niki, the manager, was so helpful and accomodating to all of my requests. We did the bottomless brunch package ($75 pp) - food was delicious, with accompanying rose and sangria to match. Our waiter, Alex, was really vibrant and friendly on the day. He showed no sign of stress even though he was serving a large group of 30 people. Wow wow wow. Blown away by this place. The food here... Bloody insane, the heck am I saying. The waitress recommended the pizza and the chicken and she was not messing around. It brought the boys to the yard. Honestly has to be some of the best food in Bondi. I only wish my good friend Dirk could have been there to try it. It’s been a long few months since his very being was torn asunder by spontaneous combustion. RIP Dirk, 1995-2019

Really love the vibe here. The food and service are consistently good. The lunch menu on weekends is a bit weird - we were expecting brunch at 12:30pm but they only had a few brunch dishes and then the lunch/dinner menu. Be sure to check out the options to avoid disappointment.

Trendy place, great scene for those that want to be seen. Host was accomodating of our large party with no booking. However, if you care about value for money for the quality of food there are better options in the area. The small share options were quite expensive. The large share plate was the same size as the small, $30 for a quarter chicken. Food tasted pretty good but at that price point I would have expected either more volume or a flavour explosion.

I went here, after a long time, for a friend's birthday and they have done a great job with the renovations. The back courtyard looks very nice and seats quite a few number of people. The bar staff are really friendly and did table service for us, since we had a largish group. Drink prices are affordable. I didn't get a chance to eat there, but I've heard the food is pretty good. One great thing about the venue is the location is very close to the beach. Free 2hr parking can be found close by, but might need to walk a little bit.

Love this little place. Nice vibe. Great music and nice space. Impressive customer service, waitress who greets us always remembers what I drink. It can get really busy but it seems like management do a great job of ensuring the place isn’t crowded. I love this place. It's not a massive bar but it offers a lot. Make a reservation as the restaurant books out fast. I had the hummus dip with bread albeit they should provide more pieces of bread (the hummus serving is massive). The sweet potato chips were amazing. Get those. And the chicken salad was out of this world. Beer a little on the pricy side but you expect that from Bondi. All in all an amazing night.

Went to Bondi Hardware for dinner last night with some friends. I was enjoying everything about the place until my friend dropped her phone/wallet down behind the long bench we were sitting on accidentally. She kindly asked a waitress if we could have some help retrieving her valuables and she quickly had to report to her manager to see what could be done, as other patrons were sitting on this bench. Now I understand that this did not only affect us, but I believe the way the manager (only man in white shirt with no apron) handled the situation was extremely poor. He told the waitress to inform my friend that nothing could be done and that she will have to come back at 8am sharp, before people begin to arrive for breakfast, to retrieve her valuables and nothing else can be done. We could tell the waitress was also distressed as she had to deliver the bad news and she prides herself on great customer service. He couldn’t be bothered to come over and tell her himself, let alone offer any compensation for the hastle of my friend having to come back at an extremely specific time because he wasn’t willing to take 5 minutes to solve such a simple issue. My friend ended up taking matters into her own hands, as she did not want to travel home with no phone or money. We managed to get the items out on our own after spending a lot of time trying with no assistance from staff. We even had other diners offering to help and showing sympathy. The manager came over right before we managed to retrieve the item to tell my friend off for trying to get her stuff back, but she told him his assistance was not needed. He then walked away and proceeded to talk in a negatively about my friend to a fellow staff member, also not in a apron, which I believe is extremely unprofessional. I understand that this issue goes both ways, and he did not want us disturbing other diners, but I think that he should re-evaluate his strategies as we were also customers that spent $400 at this establishment - which is something that, because of this specific incident, I will refrain from doing ever again.

I can't recommend this place enough. We tried somewhere else in Bondi initially and were severley dissappointed. Bondi Hardware made up for that ten fold. The food, Ambience and drinks were to die for. If you get a chance, sit at the bar and talk to the bar staff while you wait for your food and drink their amazing cocktails. Filled with a very Bondi crowd, this cafe/restaurant stays true to it's Hardware predecessor through it's decor. it feels very DIY, with untreated wood tables, unpainted brick and cement floors. Sounds less impressive than it is, believe me. Food menu isn't exactly to my liking (think mini-burgers, hot dogs etc) but the drinks and service are great. A particularly nice range of boutique beers.

A very pleasant, rustic setting that lies a stones throw from Bondi Beach. I enjoyed a night there with friends and tried the delicious range of beers on tap. Great Thursday night spot for western style tapas. The cerviche and lamb shank with a jug of sangria at a table outside on a Thursday night was a great call! Service was alright, as they let you enjoy the time, but overall a great place to go with friends during the week. Can get crowded really quick though! Espresso martini, lamb salad and grilled haloumi are just three items served at this awesome Bondi restaurant that will keep bringing me back. The decor of this converted hardware store (hence the name) is the perfect backdrop for a first date. The atmosphere is pumping, the lights are dimmed and the music is loud. Situated away from the strip the atmoshere here is chilled out. Perfect place to enjoy a cold one and a good feed. The roasted Cauliflower is quite enjoyable for someone like me who cannot stand the smell and taste of cauliflower.
