Seems like a stange place for a restaurant, for it is located adjoined to Ultra Football, a football store in Alexandria, next to the site of The Rocks Brewing Co. The name derives from the term for the seating behind a goal at a football stadium, so it probably makes more sense knowing that. The restaurant has taken over the space that once was zona azzuri Curva remains Italian, with a contemporary Italian menu that draws inspiration from authentic Neapolitan traditions and modern influences. Their woodfired oven is front and centre to cook up some delicious woodfired pizzas, meats and vegetables. There’s also breads, antipasti, salads, desserts and a kids menu too. We try the vegetarian option, the Orto pizza with zucchini, eggplant, roast pumpkin, pecorino and a mighty lot of cheese. Nicely woodfired, it was a generous served pizza. From the pasta list, the gnocchi Sorrentina or gnocchi with fresh tomato, mozzarella and parmesan was super tasty, baked in a small pot in the woodfired oven. For the mains, the wood fired prawns were excellent; a plate of the chargrilled seafood, flavoured with chilli, garlic, lemon and truss tomatoes, served with a side salad. We also order the “broccolini side”, woodfired. Although it wasn’t broccolini, just your regular broccoli. It tasted nice, but probably just change the menu listing. There’s a wine list, cocktails and mocktails too, we enjoyed a red wine and non-alcoholic spritzer; made with Lyre’s dry aperitif, peach, lemongrass and ginger. The venue would accommodate larger groups and functions if necessary. Staff were friendly and hospitable and service time was efficient. We did think it was quite expensive, so we were lucky to have been able to use our dine and discover vouchers for a bit of a discount.

Wow this place is an amazing hidden gem. Beautiful modern space - great for families as it's spacious and easy to access. The pizza is fantastic - using Caputo Tipo 00 flour, the best there is, and a pizza oven from Italy. The service is phenomenal and professional, a refreshing change from the usual in Sydney these days. Family owned and run from Melbourne and originally Italy, they are friendly and welcoming. Will have to try the dessert pizza as well. Wednesdays unlimited pizza $20. Highly recommended.

Great little pizza place tucked hidden away behind a clothing store. We happened to stumble across the place and decided to pop in for a quick pizza. We had ghe margherita which was absolutely delicious, came out quickly and tasted very fresh and authentic. Would love to return to try more of the menu in the future :)

Stumbled upon this place by accident, hidden in the middle of nowhere in Alexandria. I only have one word to say about the pizzas here. It's the BEST. We made a booking for 4 and arrived on time for lunch. Not a busy time at 1.30pm perhaps due to covid - approx 3 other tables dining at the same time with us. Ordered 3 pizzas and 3 pastas plus a calamari dish. Food started arriving literally 30min later. Strange and very dissatisfied since it's a woodfire pizzeria which can cook pizzas in literally 3 minutes. Waitress/cashier/restaurant manager looking mid aged lady seemed quite fed up with her job. Unwillingly came to take our order without even a pen and paper which is fine as long as she gets it right which she did however she had that annoyed look when she stood at our table though wasn't in a hurry. As soon as two of the pizzas arrived my friend asked for chilli oil she said sure and rolled her eyes - WHAT? During the 30 minute wait there was no apologies or attention at our table at all. Ordered Tiramisu which came 10 minutes later when my husband already finished his coffee. Another waiter was nicer when he brought food to us but service was also minimal and not warm. I have to say good food. My Italian husband approves. Price for pizza is okay roughly $22 each on average. Pasta roughly $28 average. Between the four of us we paid $199 without alcohol. I would say because the lack of service and the annoying lady who was rude and inattentive I will mostly likely never go back. Anyone who wants a good woodfired pizza from southern Italy can well go to Assembly Frank's Frankie's Via Napoli Marciano's and many more

Absolutely amazing Italian restaurant and friendly staffs. Every single visit we got impressed by the authentic quality Italian cuisine and drinks there. Best pizza ever had with beautiful buffalo mozzarella instantly melt in my mouth. Love the parmigiana and cannoli too! Reasonable price for a quality night out focus on great food - different from commercialised places in the city. Definitely a hidden gem in Alexandria! Would always go back.

Most under-rated restaurant in Sydney. My review is both for the restaurant and the cooking classes. I first discovered Zona Azzurri as they were offering free viewing of an Italian soccer game and I went there with my son. Not only we enjoyed the game but the owner even offered us coffees and croissants. Then I decided to do one of their pizza courses with my mum... almost 3 weeks have passed and we still can't get over it. We keep talking about it, we have made 3 times pizza since and now I'm also recommending you all! My mum noticed during the Pizza lessons the way the other chefs were preparing food and she turned to me and said: from now on this is the only place I want to eat out (she doesn't like to eat out as she's a great cook) So last Saturday we went there with my family for lunch. We loved it! My son (8) loved it too because it is attached to the biggest soccer shop in Australia where you can play FIFA and even play indoor soccer. Needless to say we will be back!

We came to this pizzeria thanks to a voucher, it is a bit hidden from the main road, as you won't happen to walk past by. From then moment we walked in to the restaurant the service was friendly and prompt. Even if the place was quite full it didn't take long for the food to arrive. The saluki plate was very nice and tasty, while the pizza was tasty and not too salty. Surely a restaurant we'll go back to.

Such fantastic real pizza, wish we had something like this closer to us in Ashfield. Yes its expensive but you definitely get what you pay for in my opinion. Would rather pay a few extra bucks per pizza and get this standard than pay $19 - $20 per pizza and get something that resembles 90's pizza from my childhood.

The biggest challenge was finding the restaurant, nestled inside a warehouse connected to a clothing store. But one of the server was......... 피자도우가 정말 맛있어요. 파스타도 맛있었구요. 여자서버 안경쓴 남자서버는 정말 친절하고 friendly 했는데 마르고 키큰 남자서버가 좀 별로였어요. 그릇도 툭툭 던지며 놓고 주문받을때도 그렇고 서빙자체를 귀찮은듯이 해서 괜히 기분이 좀 상했네요... 마지막에 계산은 여자서버와 해서 그나마 기분좋게 나왔습니다 ㅎ..
