Fantastic food - every dish was a winner! Get the crispy fried potato skins - delish! Service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. Had a great date night here - keen to go back again soon!

Great attentive table service, authentic Italian food with a lovely atmosphere.
The disposable paper table covers are clever.

The most authentic Italian, melt in your mouth, flavour packed meal we have experienced in Sydney. This place is the bomb !

Da Mario was everything I had heard it was, and hoped it would be. The service was warm, welcoming and efficient. The food was absolutely divine, cannot fault it. The atmosphere was perfect for us as a couple looking for a nice date night out, even though the restaurant was busy we still felt like we were dining just us. The wine the waiter recommended to go with the meal matched extremely well and was a lovely drop. This restaurant ticks all boxes and we cannot wait to go back.
S. C.
(Our) friendly and attentive Italian waiter has a good personality! Open kitchen, industrial modern style restaurant and authentic Italian food. If you are on a date, sitting by the windows is not a good idea - there is no view to see (only the street). Overall, it is a good experience :)

Great pasta, awesome pizza and excellent service. Our whole table had the set menu for my partner's birthday. Pasta was al dente in rich sauces. The Napoli-style pizza was chewy with ample toppings. Easy parking on a school night. Ambience was comfortable.

Our go to Italian. Perfection and simplicity at its finest every time. Would always recommend a pizza and pasta as da Mario do both exceptionally well. The lamb ragu gnocchi with truffle pecorino is a must order. The greens are always magical wether it be Brussel sprouts, green beans or broccolini. There are daily changing specials which always include a healthy option. My favourite special to date would have to be the pan fried gnocchi with fresh truffle. My only negative is that the mushroom risotto is no longer on the menu, it was truly something special, please bring it back.

Da Mario has been around for a while now and we had been meaning to check it out, especially after hearing alot of positive feedback. Some friends of ours had just had a baby and this was the perfect excuse to catch up and enjoy a meal at the same time.
Da Mario is a large stylish dining space in the up and coming dining precint of Rosebery. There is plenty of indoor seating as well as alfresco dining on the deck. Da Mario serves traditional Italian fare including certified Napolitan style pizza, so you cannot make variations to what is listed.
To start off, we tried the crumbed and stuffed olives, which went down a treat. We also ordered the eye fillet beef carpaccio which was thinly sliced and literally melted in your mouth and a minted salad which was fresh and crisp.
Being one who usually steers past risotto, due to underwhelming bad experiences of the past, I was hesitant to try. However, I was excited by the idea of the beetroot risotto, which has returned this dish to favour with me. It looked nice on the plate, it was perfecty cooked and had plenty of flavour. Quite creamy and delicious.
With Da Mario being known for their traditional wood fired pizza, you know we couldn’t resist. The Melanzane pizza was quality, topped with eggplant and smoke mozzarela which simple and tasty with a light pillow like dough. Our friends were pleased with their pizza the magherita con ruchtta e crudo , a margherita with prosciutto and wild rocket.
One of our friends had the special which was a steak so there are some meat dishes too.
We had a great lunch at Da Mario. The service was great with plenty of character. We thoroughly enjoyed the authentic Italian cusine served up, and is on our list of recommended Italian restaurants for Sydney diners.
M. O.
Amazing Pizza here, very traditional Italian style with both Rosso and Bianco options. I want to try the pasta but after 5 visits, I still cannot go psst their pizza. Service is also sensational and a great wine menu!
M. B.
Great authentic pizzas. Large too. Dough is beautiful as are the toppings. Service is fantastic and it’s all men which is odd. Decor is simple and classy and has nice outdoor section with some water spray thing that keeps flies and pests away and keeps you cooler on warm days. Waiters are lovely and attentive
B. L.
The food is here is generally delicious but a little bit pricey. They have a good range of traditional Italian pizzas with simple ingredients that work well together. Their pizza base has a really good bite to it but the middle of the pizza always seems to get a bit soggy.
Service is somewhat inconsistent, sometimes you get a waiter who is polite and attentive, other times you get a waiter who seems tuned out. One time the waiter was mumbling something when I did not give a tip on the credit card transaction.
D. M.
Great service and fantastic food. The waitstaff knew a lot and helped us with our choices and the special didn’t disappoint! Glad we found this place.

Where to begin? I thought I was going to be underwhelmed as "just another pizza place...." but I was pleasantly proven wrong!
The Da Mario Merlot (carafe) with the provola (grilled cheese entree) was a perfect combo (not shown in photos but definitely a must!). Don't skip adding a squeeze of lemon as it will cut through the richness. Then prepare to have a great start for the night of feasting ahead.
We then ordered the ossobuco (special menu), the casarrece al pomodoro (meat-free marinara pasta) and the margherita con bresaola (wagyu pizza).
My god the ossobuco! Perfect! Flavoursome, tender, lovingly prepared for how many hours...generous slices of truffle on top but just enough to enhance the dish, not to overpower it (like some restaurants do).
The pasta wasn't to be outshone, a perfect backdrop against the meaty ossobuco with the sweet/sour flavour of the cherry tomatoes. So much umami going on that it was hard to believe it didn'thave any meat in it...
Last but not least is the wagyu pizza. Thin, marbled slices of wagyu on an oven-baked pizza base, again very generous with the slices.
I would go there just to have the ossobuco with hubby for weekly date nights, or when wanting to impress, take visiting family there.
Highly, highly recommend!

Takeaway Pizza review only.
Disappointed with base and overloaded toppings. Charred black edges is not what I want to feed my family!
Surely Wood fired pizza has evolved from that epoca?
Guys take a serious look at what you're serving up.
Just because you're busy doesn't mean it's 'all good'.
R. D. F.
Excellent atmosphere, modern feel but with traditional Italian charm. Great value, awesome food, down to earth service and friendly. A hidden gem.
S. B.
Pizza is awesome! You can eat a whole one and then you'll feel like having more. You won't feel bloated! I love the pizza here!
Z. M.
Love da Mario's, can't go wrong for take away or dining in, it's like stepping into Italy. Recommend basically everything on the menu, arancini balls are the best in the area. Wood fired pizza, pastas mains and more. Go with friends or order for home you can't go wrong.
K. J.
Lovely service and authentic Italian cuisine. Margarita ‘extra’ pizza absolutely beautiful!! Simple but incredibly flavourful!!
C. T.
I'm Italian.. And... This pizza maker is a genius.. I love that the dough was light to digest... Usually I share a pizza this time I eat all.. I felt at home... You need to try the special one.. Uniques ingridients from italy
L. L.
Excellent service and even better food. We had the eggplant pizza and seafood risotto which were both cooked to perfection. An absolute beauty in Rosebery!
A. C.
Very good pizza place. Good, chewy crust. Dessert was also delicious
J. M.
We have been there 3 times since discovering this place last week. The food there is very well made and absolutely delicious.
P. C.
Easily the best pizza I’ve had in Sydney. The crust was so light and flavorful and the topping was amazing. The restaurant gets really busy so make sure to book. Fast and friendly service too.
B. -. K.
Pretty average pizza. Ordered the patate and while I understood there was no cheese, I was expecting some kind of sauce at least. But it was just potato on bread. Definitely my fault for not properly reading the description. However, I tried a slice of the margherita pizza and it was also pretty average, nothing extraordinary. The pizza came out very fast though, and they never rushed us. The servers were very knowledgeable but not very attentive. Wouldn’t rush back, but also would be open to trying different pizzas next time.
L. v. N.
Very attentive, knowledgeable and super friendly staff. Entrees and mains were good sized serves, well presented, and packed full of flavour. I had the coconut panna cotta for dessert, which unfortunately had zero coconut flavour, with only the drizzled Nutella saving the dish. Plenty of parking and great atmosphere, with the giant woodfired pizza oven a fun standout. An ok selection of wine, but it's the quality of the wine here to look for!
R. F.
There is lots of hype around this place. Best pizza in Australia etc. Finally went there and wow, the food is amazing.
J. V.
Pizza is pretty good. Service is friendly enough. Had an awesome linguine with prawns, mussels and pippies. Sometimes hard to get a table here as it gets pretty busy, especially at dinner time. So try to book ahead if you can. Favourite dishes are the buffalo mozzarella starter and the capriciosa pizza.
J. L.
My favourite pizza place in Sydney! Need to book if you want to get in on a weekend
J. Q.
Delicious wood fired pizza, ordered the ‘speck e prosciutto,’ dough is fresh and soft, loved the toppings
W. S.
Amazing food, friendly service. Just the best pizza/pasta in Sydney. Amazing value all round
M. O.
Went for the Sunday lunch, prime service & food. Authentic pizza napoletana, splendid atmosphere, hidden gem, love it 👌
M.
Pizza crust is good but overall, the taste for pizzas and calzones is disappointing. Too pricey for the portion of food you get as well. Fortunately, the service is quick and good.
K. C.
Beautiful authentic Italian wood fired pizzas situated in an elegant dining area with sharp decor and good ambience. The service was attentive and servers had a good knowledge of specials and food on offer.
S. H.
Great food! They use to do a special on gnocchi with ragu and figs which was my fav but they dont have it anymore. Must try their pizzas!
M. A. R.
Real Italian taste, the best Italian restaurant in Sydney so far! Well done
F. C. (. S. F.
Really good traditional wood fired pizza and their pasta is delicious too! Remember to ask for some chilli :)
E. F.
Dude a big applause to this place, La pizza e bella... to improve: maybe the smile of the host...
P. Y.
Amazing pizza and very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
A. D.
Amazing pizzas and such a great spot. I’ve been here a few times and it never disappoints!
S. S.
We only got takeaway pizza because they were all full for the night! So reservations are highly recommended if your considering coming here. The pizza was good not super outstanding but was good.
A. B.
Rang ahead for 2 pizzas for pick up. Got the margherita extra and melanzane pizzas. Both were ready when we arrived so we didn’t have to wait! The staff are friendly and the food was delicious! They accept the dine and discovery vouchers as well! You won’t be disappointed!
T. S.
The food and service is fantastic. They have some great deals at the moment during lockdown! By far the best pizza I've had
T.
Great little spot. Went there this week and can say the all round experience was incredible! Food was delicious (highly recommend getting the pizzas) and wine selection was sublime! Plus the all round service from all the staff was amazing! They were attentive, efficient and lovely to interact with. If you’re wanting a fun night definitely go here.
G. G.
Had a wonderful dinner.
The pizza is great a must go for the ones who want to try an original pizza "napoletana", but also good variety of other Italian dishes such as Risotto, Fiorentina steak and more.
Not just great good but also excellent service!
A big thanks to Andrea and the others
L. W.
This pizza restaurant was the best place to visit if you are starving for a delicious pizza. The quality of service they provided was amazing! Try their services and you won’t regret it for sure. I need to come back because it's a good one. Job well done on their genuine assistance
v. s.
Excellent Italian pizza - super recommend! Hopefully we will have dinner on site after lock down. Thank you!
C. M.
We are on a quest to find THE BEST pizza place in Sydney and, so far, Da Mario holds the title!!! Plus, if you are lucky to be served by Josue, you are in for excellent service and superb recommendations! Highly recommended!!!
J. M.
Great pizza, Napoli style with slightly wet center. I always go for the Margherita but the others look great too!
j. n. (.
Atmosphere, food excellent , especially gnocchi and pizzas. works out to about 30 bucks per person for appetizers, pasta and pizza to share.
F. C.
Definitely good pizza and excellent service. Thank you!!
D.
Enjoyed a wonderful lazy lunch at this restaurant over the weekend. Great Italian food and excellent Italian service at reasonable prices. Will definitely be back very soon
A. T.
Definitely the highlight of my Friday nights during lockdown when I treat myself to the some takeaway Spaghetti Mare 🥰 it’s honestly so tasty, the seafood is never over cooked and the pasta is 🤌🏼 al dente
M. T.
Great pizza! It has the nice chewy crust
C. D.
Excellent service, great atmosphere and delicious food. My new favourite Italian restaurant!
F. A. D.
In my opinion a bit expensive, but the pizza it's really good.

Classic restaurant utilising professional Italian standards. Best pizza avaliable I'm Sydney, consistent with high Italian standards. Well peiced, comfortable and relaxed environment with attentive staff. Good selection of drinks and just overall a very rewarding experience.
A. P.
Nice food and interior looks good. Friendly staff.
J.
Been here many times and the food is consistently good, one of the best pizzas and the food is delicious. The staffs are so friendly and the service is great.
J. Q.
Hands down the best pizza in the eastern suburbs! Tried so many other pizza places and this has been our fav spot! The dough, quality of topping and the taste are so top notch. Never been disappointed!
D. H.
Beautiful food. So many choices. Share plates a must to experience as many delicious flavours as possible. Great for a group or a romantic couples experience . We had a lovely time.
S. M.
Ordered uber tonight and it was awesome, great quality and price.
E. B.
Delicious food! Easy for large groups - we ordered a mix of pizzas and pastas to share. The food came out quick and there was a good selection of beers. The pizza is a true italian stile pizza and even the pastas where quite good. Lots of space in the veranda to accommodate larger group of people. Surely a restaurant I will go back with my friends
S. W.
Amazing food and experience. Went here for dinner with friends and had a great time. We ordered a few pizzas and pastas and all of it was delicious. The setting and service was also fantastic. Will definitely be back!
N. V.
Absolutely beautiful food. Small to moderate portions for meats/cheese etc but so delicious. Fantastic pizzas, gorgeous wine, dealt well with us sharing food and with our friend who insisted on having group photos taken! We also had a lovely cheeky bartender trying out his own recipes while two of us had a wine at the bar. Loved it. Thank you!
M. M.
Service is great
The tomato base on the pizzas is fantastic.
Portion size for pastas is generous.
Even when busy from order to table is quick and friendly.
J. J.
The woodfire pizzas and fresh pasta were absolutely awesome. Considering it was heaps busy our meals came at a timely manner. Family friendly with ample space for the high chairs and stroller. Open atmosphere makes a great experience at any time of the day. Definitely will come again.
P. M.
Amazing Italian restaurant! The place is very busy usually so try and book in advance. We were lucky to find a table, we were in 5 people and had to wait for 30 minutes. We ordered the provola to start and everyone loved it. As mains we ordered a pizza, the mushroom risotto and the vegetarian nhocchi. Both pastas were delicious and I'll be back for sure!
B. D.
Everything we had was delicious! Glad there is less of a crowd at lunchtime, apparently gets quite busy later on. Keen for more! Thanks guys.
L. J.
+ Greeted by a fun, elated and warm staff member at the door. His vibe is contagious in the best way!
+ Margherita Extra pizza has simple and delicious flavours, perfect crust and thin base ratio.
+ Spaghetti Mare in contrast boasted rich and spicy flavours. I really enjoyed this dish.
+ Very quick service
+ Street parking available
+ Plenty of seating inside
Overall, I would definitely recommend and revisit
A. F.
We celebrated a birthday at Da Mario and the pasta on the specials menu four of us choose was terrible.Instead of al dente the pasta was overcooked and mushy. It was a scampi pasta and at $36 a bowl there was no seasoning it was very bland!! We could not taste any chilli ,garlic or salt. It was the worst pasta we've had at a restaurant ever. The pizzas and antipasto as always was good. Was a very disappointing dining experience!!
M. M.
Great little Italian spot. The wine is great and my wife thinks the pasta is her favourite of any spot in the area. My kids love the pizza, though it is a bit floppy so it makes it tough for them to eat without making a bit of a mess. We’ve been there 4 or 5 times and will definitely go back.
F. C.
Great pizzeria and Italian restaurant. Food is excellent and pizza is one of the best in Sydney. We always come here and it’s great for families and kids. Service is wonderful, you never need to wait too long for a drinks top up. Keep up the great work!
t. g.
Great place to dine with family and friends. We were in Sydney for a football game from Melbourne. After the football Da Mario was the closest restaurant to the airport. We rocked up without booking a table. Was a great pleasant greeting at the door. We asked them to hurry our food up because we had a flight to catch. To my surprise everything came in time and it was delicious. Only down bit was pizza. I like my pizza not be wet at the bottom but it was :( hopefully next time I'm in Sydney and I stop by it will be perfect lol. Go check it out if your in the area
A.
Pizza is always delicious here
K. U.
Amazing Pizza and impeccable service. They're extremely covid friendly without losing their personal touch. A neighbourhood gem but also worth crossing Sydney for. Genuinely some of the best pizza you will find anywhere in the world.part of ‘associazione verace pizza napoletana’ so they are the real deal.
J. W.
If I could give them 7 stars I would. The best pizza and pasta I’ve had in Sydney, at the most reasonably price points. I’m always excited to see what they have on their weekly specials too!
My go to pasta is the spaghetti mare - the pasta is always perfectly al dente and you can never go wrong with seafood. If you’re opting for a pizza option, I would recommend the magherita extra. I’m always a sucker for a classic, and this is an absolute winner!
T. T. L.
Obsessed with the margherita pizza here. Nothing beats good quality ingredients being cooked in a stone oven. Ordered takeaway here most Sunday nights, and the service has always been the same- exceptionally friendly and welcoming
G.
Great atmosphere and food was fantastico.
S. G.
Love, love, love Da Mario's! Visited again on Wednesday night and thoroughly enjoyed dinner. Always so many amazing specials on the menu, as well as their delicious pizzas and pasta. The service was attentive and super friendly as always. Will be back real soon!
A. L.
Really yummy food. Great relaxed atmosphere and not too loud either.
N. E.
Authentic Italian with some of the best pizza and pasta outside of Naples. Great service, modern yet laid-back decor providing a cosy atmosphere. The menu is modern but with traditional influences, and the seasonal specials are always enticing. Ideal for large groups or couples. The restaurant can be booked for functions.
C. H.
My friend booked a table for five in the evening. The restaurant was busy with a good atmosphere. The staff were good and the pasta dishes and pizza’s were divine. Very tasty. The deserts were good too. Recommended.
B. G.
Full marks all round for Da Mario for my dinner there on Wednesday night.
We started with some delicious crisp thinly battered calamari. Then shared a couple of pizzas for main; one tomato-based with speck and rocket, the other a white sauce base and sausage and broccoli toppings. Finished up with the exquisite chocolate fondant and ice cream for dessert.
Absolutely no complaints. The decor is modern, in a minimalist warehouse space dominated by the bright red wood fired pizza oven. The atmosphere is lively, it was busy even on a Wednesday early evening. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was the main attraction and delivered from start to finish.
A delightful experience.
L. E.
Discovered this gem of a restaurant last night and it has blown my mind. Ordering a pizza margerita extra as an entree, that's where the journey started, followed by the potatoe gnocchi - woodfire baked. Simple ingredients, but so ridiculously delicious! .. for the dessert we took panzerotto which, I would say, is a must to try! A big part of this experience also goes to smiling and welcoming staff! This is 100% one of my top recommendations for an italian restaurant in Sydney.
J. J.
Never fails to satisfied my palate. Been here lot of times.
Good recommendations from all my Italian friends.
Definitely always come back here, when I feel like a good walk.
Pizza is lovely, pasta is awesome, arrancini is beautiful.
So far, service is prompt! Wait staffs never come back to ask what our order were, even they did not note it in a pad.
Of course can found heaps italian here as guests.
Competitive price. Quality ingredients.
Very recommended!
L. Z.
Delicious pizza! Best we have had in Sydney!
S. F.
Amazing pizza, and our waiter was really friendly, well worth it, I can't wait to go back.
T. S.
Tried Da Mario last night. Covid has put afew restrictions on bookings. 90 mins to eat. Was abit worried we could go over as this was a birthday celebration. But food came out quickly, so no issues. Service is excellent, everyone very friendly and kind.
Food remains Delicious!!! Best Pizza. Thank you.
p. G.
Friendly knowable staff food good nice atmosphere
C. D.
Traditional, simple and tasty. This places is great and I would go back again and again. The Gnocchi is some of the lightest you will find and the pizzas are just as good. Staff are friendly and attentive which made for a great visit
s. w.
One of the best Italian places in Sydney. Their tiramisu and pistachio ice cream is heavenly. The ambience was very nice and the portion size was also good. Customer service was good and the food came quick to the table.
D. M.
Nice to see this quality of food and restaurant so close to home these days. Wish there was more even closer..say Redfern Street?
Lovely pizzas and relatively fast service too. It was very busy when we arrived without a booking and yet we were accommodated and look after quite quickly by friendly staff.
Bathrooms are more part of the building than part of the restaurant but a close walk and seemed well maintained.
Can be hard finding parking out front but there is generally something close by with a maximum 2 minute walk.
D. M.
great all-rounder italian restaurant with quality neopolitan-style pizza and beautiful pasta. it's a great spot on a little quiet corner, industrial style interior with some nice finishing touches. the service is quick and it's definitely an affordable meal. put it on your list.
N. W.
I think this is the best pizza I have ever eaten. Light and fluffy, not at all greasy. We also had tiramisu and chocolate fondant which were great. Service was a little slow but I would probably forgive them anything for another slice of pizza.
J. T.
This place is by far the best italian pizza I’ve tried in Sydney, been looking for a good place for a while now, also their calamari is amazing and so crispy! Definitely coming back! 💪🏼❤️
K. C.
Best traditional oven baked Italian pizzas (controversial opinion but their pizzas are even better than the ones we had in Italy). Love this place, I always bring visitors here. Poppin in for dinner tomorrow, can't wait ❤️
M. P.
Our favourite pizza in all of Sydney. Nothing compares to the Melenzane pizza. Staff are friendly, food and service is quick. Great selection of wine. Would highly recommend!
A. C.
I loved it, been twice, particularly enjoyed the carpaccio followed by pizza. My wife very much disliked her dry, boring, $36 veal schnitzel, only eating a few bites, it didn't help that no sauce or gravy was available. We both agreed the wine was nicely priced and very good. Best of all was the tiramisu for desert, fantastic.
M.
5 points for pizza.
1 for staff/reservation process.
Love the margarita extra. That is saying alot as i generally would also order a meat pizza. The buffalo mozzarella is amazing, and the dough is addictive. This is the sole reason for my return.
Try to book if you can, for some reason it's like they don't want to take customers. Rang up on a sat night for seating that night at 6pm and they said they were fully booked after pushing they said we could have a chance as a walk in. And for some reason he managed to book us in and said we had 2 hrs. Got there, restaurant was half full. Not the way to run a business. You can have more than one seating a night.
Also if you can seat a walk in as the booking is not until later. It would be gr8 to be offered the table given their is a reasonable gap and we are informed they we leave need by x time. Surprisingly some people don't need/want to eat for more than 1.5 hours. Some ppl just want to eat and not linger.
R. L.
Amazing pizza, the base is incredibly light and fluffy, best I've ever had by far. Staff are all friendly and courteous. Fast service and food delivery to the table. Awesome experience all round.
P. L.
Friendly staffs and superb environment. Awesome foods and drink. Good place to do gathering with friends and family!
J. D.
Fresh food, high quality and great tiramisu
L. B.
Love this place! The food is always on point and delicious, the service is great and the staff are always so friendly and on to it! The restaurant has a great atmosphere and I highly recommend for a nice dinner out with family or friends! Can’t wait for my next dinner there!
C.
Good range of pizza, however ours came out with a soggy base for most. Service at the beginning of our meal was good and attentive but then became increasingly difficult oncr we got our food to get their attention throughout the night for drinks, the bill, etc.
R. L.
So good! I only got to one slice before my boyfriend ate the rest he liked it so much! The pizza was so soft and melt in mouth. I will order take away again.
N. I.
really nice food and service the cider is really great too
L. O.
Reasonably priced good quality Italian food with a good wine selection and cocktail menu. Jugs of aperol or a Montenegro amaro after dinner.
Worth checking out, and for an after dinner drink the Archie Rose distillery and cellar door is just around the corner for fancy cocktails in a tasteful environment supported by quality barmen making excellent cocktails.
Whiskey and Gin selections are very very good.
D. W.
Best pizza I had in Sydney
S. S.
Great pizza with friendly service.
Da Mario is a nice place that gets busy. This leads to a very great atmosphere and if you get a table on the outside the background noise is not too much.
In winter, the outside area is covered in and heated, so it's nice and cosy.
The pizzas are traditional and there is a great range of them to choose from.
My personal favourites are the Divaola, nice and spicy, and the special that they had on, with Mortadella.
E. W.
Such a good authentic Italian restaurant. Wood fired oven, proper Italian espresso machine, hand made pastas. Even the gluten free pasta is sensational. The bug pasta and bolognese are both delicious, and the fried olives are divine!
B. C.
Rated in my Top 3 for wood fired pizza, service and location! We had an awesome night! My barramundi was amazing! Coming back without a doubt!
N. L.
great food esp the pizza.
Friendly reminder to staff, please do not operate gas heaters with windows closed.... you will kill your patrons.
Food and service is otherwise good
T.
Turned up for lazy Sunday lunch and a quiet Birthday get together. Pleasant atmosphere and generally good service. We decided not to bring a cake as the surcharge was $2.50 per person. ( a bit pricey).
For entree we had calamari, stuffed olives and arancini to share. All were delicious and impressive.
I wanted a seafood pizza however not on the menu so I ordered a pasta with scampi and chilli. Arrived with no chilli. Flavour was still ok.
Other guests ordered Pizza which is apparently what they specialise in. All pizzas were given a thumbs up.
One guest had a snapper fillet off the specials board which was a bit tasteless though.
Overall a hit and miss.
L.
Amazing food that never fails to satisfy, a vibrant and accommodating team of (mainly) Italian waitstaff and a bartender who knows how to make the perfect Aperol Spritz.. what more could you want? My personal menu consisted of the Pesce Marinato to begin, Diavola and Spaghetti Mare (to share) as a main and, even though I was full, I made room for the most incredible tiramisu. Don't forget to try the Monte Antico (red wine)- it is worth booking to ensure you get a place but walking in, we didn't have a problem being seated by a smiling waiter after a very short wait. I cannot wait to get back to try the rest of the menu! Thank you Da Mario.
D. W.
Never, ever disappointed with the pizzas! Always busy and bustling and the wood fired oven gets your order out in less than 10 minutes every time - and it's ALWAYS delicious. Can't pass on the margherita!
C. F.
Probably the best Italian food we've had in Australia.
But what really sets this establishment apart from the rest is the EXCEMPLARY service by the staff and attention to detail even at the busiest of times.
Can only recommend.
E. B.
I'm on the search for Sydney's best Pizza... As you can imagine this is not easy. But on a humble Saturday night I think I found it here (such a tight call). The pizzas are simple, thin based with a much thicker rim. The menu has a pizza topping for everyone. White, red and Calzone. To be honest I didn't even look at the pasta selection, because when in Rome!!!
The other plus, you can book!!!!!!!
A. W.
Lucked across this gem while looking for an early dinner option. Staff were friendly, food was great and arrived promptly. Will definitely be trying again, either eatin or take away.
P. N.
The best indicator of the quality of Da Mario’s pizza is the fact that they don’t deliver. The atmosphere at this cosy joint is wonderful, just like the food. I’d recommend hitting the specials board, but the parpadelle is a stroke of genius and they produce a solid caprese (and I am an EXPERT in the consumption of caprese). That’s all rounded out with a decent selection of wines - nothing mind blowing, but still plenty to suit everyone. The portions are generous, so don’t over order like the three of us did (no regrets, it was all delicious, but we were fat monsters by the time we rolled out). And book ahead - this mob gets busy.
C. C.
Italian pizza restaurant in upcoming trendy area of Rosebury. Friendly Italian staff, traditional menu but probably not the best pizza in Sydney. Would be nice to have more terrace tables for the summer.
C. P.
First off all I don't normally bother rating restaurants. We've been to Da Marios previously and know it's great food and service, 4/5 stars always. However last night they patiently dealt with a large party that arrived at different times and with varying numbers of guests, a scenario I have had at lessor restaurants and the management have chucked a tanty but here they simply made it work with little fuss on their behalf, above and beyond gets a 5 star posting.

I have been in this place a couple of times and food is always good but today the service was disgraceful. The waiter kind of forgot about us and let us with empty dirty plates for easily about 30min. Then another waiter came and was annoyed for who knows what and very rudely started cleaning out table.
We ordered dessert and coffee but they forgot the coffee.
Shame the experience today wasn't great, don't think I'll come back.
E. S.
The caprocciosa pizza was nice, the outer crust was beautiful and fluffy and had that awesome wood fired flavour we all love, while if I'm being a tough critic I'd have to say the middle was a little bit soggy. Still tasted great though.
The hero of the night was the tagliatelli ragu. It was absolutely superb and I'll be having it again when I return.
I gave it 4 stars only because there's no 4.5 star option
G.
The Morton bay bug pasta was delicious. Though when they say there's "chilli" in the dish, was a bit of an over statement. But the whole meal was yum, and they managed to accommodate us even though we were 45mins early for our booking.
J. H. (.
Fresh pasta and wood fire pizza.
Service from staff was great! We were running late and they were very accommodating.
Went there on a busy Friday night, and was seated on the alfresco section, which was a tad noisy.
B. L.
Started with the “fig and stracciatella cheese”. Unfortunately it was quite tasteless till the last bite. Pizzas were tasty and good but expensive +/- 25 dollars. Not much choice for tomato pizzas and some napoletana originals are missing. Staff was nice but the girl assisting us a bit awkward.
E. K.
The pasta was nice(casarecce pomodoro) but a little bit oily.
V. Y.
The pizzas are so good here, must try!
C.
Dine there last night the place was buzzing. Lucky enough to get a table without booking. Excellent customer service , professional staff. Really enjoyed the food ,very enjoyable experience 10/10
P. J.
Food was excellent and one staff member was helpful, but the maitre d had a horrid personality and service to match. Didn't help that other staff got our order wrong 3 times. If it wasn't for the maitre d I'd have given it a 4 or 5 star review.
M. T.
Pizza verace, the taste of Italy in nsw
K. D.
We work down the road and a group of us go to Da Marios’ every Friday for lunch rain, hail or shine – it’s become our staple and never disappoints! It’s what gets us through the week lol. Once you have tasted this authentic pizza you will never see other “pizza” in the same light again – it is an enlightening experience and major food’gasm! The staff are friendly as (esp. Hugo!), the venue is great, and all the authentic italian food we have tried off the menu is exceptional! We would probably be there every day but it only opens for lunch during the week on Friday!
A.
One of the best Margherita pizzas in Sydney. Exactly how it should be. Not much to add here :) Pizza quality is on par with Italian Street Kitchen in North Sydney.
M. T.
Great pizza and pasta. Wonderful service
A. L.
It is a genuine gem. The only downside would be that it is really busy and it is better to book it in advance. They use truly italian ingredients and have amazing wooden owen. Rizotto, pasta, and everything is cooked exactly to the right condition. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only probably issue is that you'd better to book a table upfront.
P. L.
Best pizza in Sydney! The guys are wizards. Every time always want more. Pizza is cooked in seconds to perfection every time. Amazing!!
A. D.
I am Italian and I love real traditional Pizza Napoletana. I had one of the best pizzas in town last Saturday when I went with my friends. The pizza was perfect – it folded right and I ate it with great pleasure. I read the past reviews and I saw (again – I read/hear this all the time about Pizza Napoletana) people complaining about the middle of the pizza being too soggy/flabby/moisty. I am not a pro pizza expert, but I am an experienced pizza eater ;-) and I know that's how the Pizza Napoletana should be (although I think soggy and flabby are not the right terms as they sound pejorative; maybe thin and soft?). Such comments make me sooo angry! This pizza was soft and thin in the middle, as I like it, and I cannot wait to have it again!
I. S.
Can't say it's fresh and authentic Italian, and I do feel it's a little overpriced, but if you're in the mood for pasta don't turn it down. The staff are very warm and accommodating
J. C.
Beautiful food, specials always feature seasonal produce. Love the pasta and pizza bases perfect. Staff generous and friendly
R.
Da Mario is one of the best value Italian dining venues in Sydney. The pizza and pasta are incredibly good here, with service to match.
T. W.
Beautiful food. Wood fired pizza as good as anywhere I had in Italy. The pasta dishes are amazing too and the arancini is as good as Nonna's.
Y. G.
Had an amazing dinner at Da Mario. If you have a love for chilli, you should give their Diavola pizza a go. For sure! Great for date night, great for groups, great for lunch meetings even!
S. L.
Amazing authentic Italian food! Great service, great selection of wood fired pizzas and freshly made pastas. Beer on tap and delicious desserts.
n. a.
Very yummy yummy italian food. The taste is very different and the prices are alright. I highly recommend to the people of eastern suburbs. It has an amazing vibe and very nice and friendly environment.
S. D.
Very nice Italian food, the pasta was great. Atmosphere and setting was how it should be . Price bit on the upsite but worthwhile. Also the service was excellent.
E. M.
I have come to this restaurant since it opened in Rosebery. Love the pizzas, pastas (risotto) and salads. I am never disappointed. The service is outstanding.
R. K.
Fantastic place. Great service (fast and friendly despite being extremely busy) and the food was authentic Italian. Very good range of choice on the menu.
M. L.
The pizza here is exceptional Neapolitan pizza. One of a few restaurants in Australia to have the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana accreditation. My favourite pizza is the Speck e Fontina. Salty speck and the melty fontina cheese. Pasta is also excellent. Seafood pasta is great as well as their ragu. Wash it down with wine or Messina Birra. Glad to have this place part of my local.
D. d.
Just a Brilliant experience, we shared 3 starters, a pasta and 2 pizza's, every dish was just so good, the service was great and very subtle, can't wait to get back there...!
S. S.
Amazing pizza and pasta. Da Mario use high quality, fresh ingredients and the food taste amazing. We had the blue swimmer crab pasta, absolutely sensational.
S. S.
My favourite pizza in all of Sydney. It was at Da Mario that I tried pizza with a white sauce base for the first time ever. No regrets.
L. L.
Pizza Mario's spin-off... Although this restaurant is much larger with an industrial feel whilst having more options on the menu. It has the same beer options and all the Pizza Mario favourites. Unfortunately they were out of speck on a Saturday night but the Salami Calzone & Potatoe pizza was delicious. Definitely one of my top 4 with Lucio's, Gigi's & Vacanza.
P. B.
Authentic Italian! Lots of vegetarian options (but note pizza toppings won't be altered). We had the arancini balls (their crisp salty shell made them addictive); the Margherita 'extra' pizza (great light base); and a tomato and ricotta pasta (loads of flavour).
A. G.
I have been many times and I always come back. Pizza Italian Style and a lot of really good dishes. Risotto with Beetroot and Gorgonzola is my favourite.
L.
Best pizza I’ve ever had. If you do take way they were like real quick. Awesome!
w. l.
good atmosphere, nice Italian people, great food....forgot to take photo sadly....place is abit noisy but that's what a good italian resturant should be!
S. A.
loved the food, the pasta was very nice, the pizza wasnt , had better , but what turned us off was the time frame we had to eat and run , and we didnt enjoy our stay , not a very good way to run a business, wanted to book again with some of my other friends but dont want to leave by 8.45pm so we will be booking elswhere
C. S.
Delicious pasta and wood fired pizza in a cool setting. Great specials board too. Friendly staff and a good service too...
D. R.
Food and service was great, alittle on the noisy side. Had a wonderful lunch
E. B.
I thought this place was amazing. The people spoke Italian so it made things so much more Italian styled. I have been to Italy and this restaurant brought me back! 5 stars ⭐🌟☀💫🌠!!
A. S.
So. Good. Have to try it to believe it. Gnocci was delectably soft and fluffy.
J. D.
Absolutely beautiful food! Service could be a tiny bit better but it's always busy so you can't really expect fantastic service when they have so many tables to wait on.
P. V.
great place for Italian food. Great pizzas, good wine and beer options and good customer service. Nice peaceful location with nearby parking options
M. B.
pizza was incredible. pasta was very good. service was impeccable. similar level as the high end italian restaurants without the price tag and the fine dining feel.
M. V.
Very good authentic Italian food and nice atmosphere, very good location next to/inside the cannery
M. S.
Pizza was nice but a bit too chewy, difficult to cut
L. J.
Great service. Pizza was a little disappointing but everything else we had was very tasty! Nice place for date night! Grazie Da Mario!
C. A.
For the Best Italian food and great service look no further
amazing staff willing to bend over backwards for anyone who walks in
goes side on side with their great food and a good selection on the menu

Marcelo has the show running well and all staff greeted me with a smile which made me feel a home from the second i walked in
one of my favourite spaces to clear my head and grab a bite to eat
110% recommend anyone looking for amazing food at great prices

A. K.
Genuine Italian food with a great vibe. Friendly service.
M. S.
I had better pizza and pasta somewhere else although the service and the shiraz were excellent. A bit pricey too.
N. Y.
Da Mario DA ROCKS! Have been coming to Da Mario ever since it was in East Sydney, followed it to Darlinghurst and now in Roseberry - have watched it's menu grow along with its restaurant and added bonus that it opens from 5pm for kid friendly dinner times - quality has remained the same - Da Mario deserves to be an institution in today's fickle dining scene 👍👍👍
M. J.
One of the best for pizza, in my top two. Friendly and attentive staff as well.
C. B. C.
A very good menu in a very breezy venue. Disappointing the lack of Australian wines. Pasta fresh, Pizza outstanding.

Good as good as you'll find in Italy. Book ahead as the secret is out and walk ins are generally not possible on Fri/Sat nights. Highly recommended though.
