What an amazing place for some great Indian food. Service was great and the food was some of the best Indian I have had in Sydney. Highly recommended to book a table as this place is always busy. Make sure you try the prawns.

My husband and I ditched our favourite Thai restaurant over kachori cravings. DOD came top on our google search, and seeing Khasta Kachori on the menu, we were thrilled! It was our first visit here and we instantly fell in love with DOD! The subtle ambience, pleasing Indian music, and welcoming hosts like Javed certainly added to charm to this place. Food is delicious-flavours are spot on! The sweet tangy and spicy burst of flavours in the khasta kachori just took us back to the streets of India. For mains we had Chicken Pepper fry and garlic naan. Chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, while the gravy gave excellent flavours of pepper and curry leaves. Garlic naan was soft and as usual yum! This was our first time at DoD but certainly not the last time! Have to come back to try other delicacies on the menu and some raspberry chocolate desert that Javed suggested. One of the best Indian restaurants i've visited till now, a must visit!

I’ve been looking for a good Indian restaurant for a while now and I must say this is the perfect one! The food is flavoursome, fresh and light. The servings are generous and the value is great! Our first time visiting and despite being on a red balloon voucher we were still given great service. The setting itself was elegant but still relaxed and each wait staff was friendly and attentive and the owner was very charming. We had a lovely waitress who made suggestions on what to order and it was all very delicious. Voucher itself is excellent value, portions large and food fresh and nicely presented. Will definitely return again but this time we will come with an empty stomach so we can eat more! Thank you for a lovely first dining experience. Highly recommended!

Situated at the Erskineville road, which needs to be located after a little walk from the prine king street. High on prices, presentation is impressive but needs to work on the taste. Service is too slow, not amazing for a quick bite. Staff is knowledgeable but can try to influence the personal choices. Overall ambience is pleasant giving a feel of fine dine experience.

This is by far one of the best Indian restaurants in Sydney. The service is impeccable and the food is so far above the standard fare. Fantastic spot. The staff is very attentive and professional. Food is simply amazing. Spices are very well balanced. The nan is delicious. The duck melts under your tongue. Cocktails are tasty and refreshing. Dessert was too sweet, but that's probably exactly the way it's meant to be. We'll be back regularly!

Would recommend the following: - Potli Samosa: Perfect for anyone who wants the taste of a samosa but in a smaller size so you don't feel too full for mains - Laung Elaichi Murgh: The marinade was amazing and the chicken was cooked perfectly on the bone - Chicken Pepper Fry: A great alternative to the common butter chicken order. Overall, it's a mediocre restaurant. The food is okay; not bad, not amazing. The pricing does not at all match the quality of food or the ambiance of the place. I'd say the service is excellent. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The best dishes we ordered were the naan and the kufta in yogurt. Everything else, I've had better of. The dal came in a jug. Good restaurant but they need to either improve their food or lower their prices.

We ordered the Mango lassi, Palak paneer , Garlic naan, Wheat bread, the Vegetable starter and Masala Tea. The place is relatively nice and cosy. Service was good and the staff were facilitative and engaging. Most seemed to be enjoying the food , while we werent as much but that could be down to our choice of food. The tea ($5.50 for tea bag tea is never a good idea) is a definite no- no / never again/ pls do not try.We will try the butter panner and other dishes the next time :)

WE visited in Dec with our family friends. Every dish was so tasty and enjoyed by our guests from Melbourne - pepper berry chicken, lamb chops, raj kachori, paneer tikka, goat masal, Kabila daal to name a few. Cocktails and Bira beer were great addition. Delhi of Delhi maintained good CoVid Management plan and the food quality throughout pandemic. We had a few group parties and everyone enjoyed the food, courteous staff, drinks and the venue. Excellent staff and great food. We enjoyed the entree beat root patties very healthy and tasty vegan option, chicken was so delicious, lamp chops were juicy and prawns very crispy. The entree were very fulfilling then we tried Tava Goat for mains along with chicken tikka masala and cauliflower, egg plant ... with variety of naan bread options. Everything was delicious and staff amazing service even when the restaurant was so busy... Good hygiene, sanitiser, bar code scanning, social distancing and HACCP certified restaurant.... Not many restaurants go that extra mile to ensure food safty and good hygiene for the customers. The management and staff are at leading edge in terms of food safety and we go a long way to dine there. Always a great pleasure,

A beautiful place with an amazing authentic Indian food. We visited this place on a friend's birthday and we had a few beers. We may be acting a bit funny but the host and the owner was so much accomodating. Suggested a few dishes and they were absolutely amazing. Being Indian myself, it is rarely that I find Indian food fascinating apart from home cooked meals. But this place can be said to serve authentic Indian food. Worth every dollar. A place that gives priority to the customer's need than just making money.

Had a lovely set menu dinner on Valentine’s Day, with beautifully paired wines and a cocktail with rose-infused gin made in-house. The food was absolutely delicious, with modern twists on Indian classics - it’s not just your everyday curry! It was a great dining experience, with live music, made even better by the warmth of the staff who took the time to stop by and talk to us about the dishes we were served (Javed in particular)! We had the pleasure of our son's wedding catered by Delhi 'O' Delhi. Every single one of our guests commented on how fantastic the catering was, in terms of the quality and taste, the immaculate and creative presentation, and the quantities of food that were served. Many of our guests were Indian, but said that it was the best catering that they had every experienced including myself! Being a north Indian, I think the taste of the dishes was quite bland and it lacked some flavor. I would prefer Abhi’s in north strathfield to this one as it has good indian food flavor.

In a relatively quiet part of Newtown. Stylish restaurant with surprisingly reasonable prices. The service was exceptional. The head waiter was knowledgeable and made recommendations. Water glasses were filled without us having to ask. Family of four, we had a blueberry mojito and a sweet and salty line soda. These were delicious. We skipped entrees and went straight to the mains. Had camel curry, butter chicken, tandoori fish masaledar, and cauliflower baingan. All were super flavoursome. They made the butter chicken spicy on request. Also had the lemon rice, garlic naan, and saffron rice. The lemon rice was a great match for tandoori fish. Altogether a tasty North Indian meal.

From the very polite server Mareen, to the most delicious food, what an amazing hospitality experience. The prawns fresh from the ocean, to the sweet butter chicken and fluffy rice. Naan bread with cinnamon and blue cheese was to die for. Prices are very reasonable with the huge servings. I visited Delhi O Delhi on Diwali.. First thing I loved was, it was open till 11pm, whilst most of others restaurants were closing by 10pm and we arrived for dinner in the area at 9.30pm, we couldn't get table in any of our preferred restaurants, Then Delhi O delhi came as a saving grace! The service and ambience were just perfect. We ordered Potali samosas, potato cheese blast, palak paneer and dal with some parathas and cheese garlic naan! All the items were prepared amazingly! We all loved how delicious the food was! We couldn't try non-veg but I am sure it would be equally delicious! Would I go back or take my guests there?? YES Do I recommend it to others? definitely yes!!!!! PS: We were so hungry that, I hardly got a chance to click a photo.

We chose Delhi ‘O’ Delhi for catering for full day at our daughter’s wedding day at View By Sydney, which included naashta on arrival, lunch after wedding ceremony and reception in the evening. We are soo happy with the presentation and different choices of yummy foods at all occasions. No food items was overlapping for the whole day, as they presented us with a long list of menu to choose different food items suitable for all occasions which made it very easy for us to make choices. We also added our own choices out of their menu and they were more than happy to include whatever we asked for!! Feedback from our guests is that this was the most delicious & fresh food they have ever tasted in an Indian wedding and big compliments just kept flowing all through the day. And Javed is such an amazing person , easy to communicate and can accommodate whatever you ask him to do. We also had them catered food for a smaller event during the wedding and are more than happy with the tasty food and amount they delivered. Prior to the wedding events, we were invited to the restaurant for food tasting so we were given the opportunity for customising menu items and were amazed with the food quality & great choices. 4 Stars for the food. 2 Stars for the service. We were almost done eating when the waiter noticed that we were almost out of rice, with a few more mouthfuls of the dishes we ordered still left to consume. He suggested bringing a little more rice to pair with the remaining mouthfuls. Since the waiter implied that it would be for free, we agreed thinking that that we'd get a small amount of rice since we had almost finished our meal. Instead we got a full order of rice , which weren't able to each much of since we had already eaten most of our main dishes and were full. When we paid our bill we saw that we were charged for what turned out to be an additional order of rice. It's really disappointing to be manipulated in to ordering something for the sake of making a buck. We won't be back.

Good Indian restaurants are surprisingly hard to find but I’m glad I found this one. The staff are attentive but not obtrusive and the service overall was always faultless. The food was soooo good. I normally steer clear of butter chicken but thought this one sounded worth a shot and I’m glad I gave it a chance because it was the best I’ve ever had by a very very long way. The way they grill the chicken first gives it a really nice charred, smoky flavour that you don’t usually get. The korma was really good, the lamb was tender and there was not fatty or chewy bits, just nice, soft meat but it was a little on the mild side of mild. I was hoping for a little more kick but it was by no means bad. The chicken entree was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten too. The naan was light and fluffy and soft and a decent size too. Only downside I would say is that while they are BYO, they charge $8 per person corkage which does seem a little steep. I’m happy to pay for corkage and like to bring my own wine because i get a better choice of wines and it’s not about saving money but this does seem a little excessive.

Javed and his team were able to cater to our varying guests taste preferences, the food was fresh and very tasty. Very well balanced, flavourful Indian cuisine. Wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes. Some unique items you won't find at your run-of-the-mill Indian, and whilst prices may seem higher than the cheap local take-away, the quality and taste is certainly worthwhile. We are really glad to have discovered this restaurant. We had the cheese blast which is yummy! It’s slightly sweet because of the pumpkin but we’ll definitely order it again. The food was served fast and the cocktails are reasonably priced. They have wine and cocktails and also offer BYO wine. Parking isn’t easy coz it’s a busy area but it’s an easy walk from the Newtown station. We are going back

I ordered yesterday via uber eats and it was so good. Based on other reviews i ordered the butter chicken and i can agree its the best I've had in a long time. The other dish i ordered was the palak paneer and that was amazingly tasty too. The popadums were fresh crispy and not oily. Will become my go to indian from now on.

It's the first India restaurant I try in Sydney. It's easier for me, however, to recall better Indian restaurants I tried in the past than the ones that are worse. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just a little bit below average. I liked their samosas, but not the main dishes. The chicken currys didn't taste that fresh. We had a lamb Biryani that wasn't in the menu and it was a little bit better. It's fine to try out this place if you're in the area and looking for Indian food. But this is Newtown, where many of Sydney's food gems exist.. Just saying.

Lovely ambiance and good service. The food tasted good as well, but for me what stood out the most was the presentation of the food. In my opinion, presentation of the food makes it more appetising and these guys delivered. The wine collection is decent. They gave pappadums as complimentary and then asked us if we need condiments to go with it like achar, etc. Initially we assumed that the condiments are complimentary too and said yes, but then my wife asked the person serving and he said that the condiments are chargeable (~$9 !! ). This behaviour obviously didn’t go well with me. We had a bill of approx $150, so I wouldn’t care about the $9, but they need to be upfront and tell the customer things that are not complimentary. That’s the reason I’m giving them a star less.

His team displayed an outstanding level of professionalism with the Four Seasons venue and the feedback from all the guests was that it was the most delicious Indian food they had tasted at an Indian wedding! (different to the other 'Indian' food they have tried before; this was so fresh and flavoursome!). In addition to this Delhi 'O' Delhi went out of their way to tailor the dishes to suit our tastes as we had a proportion of guests who had different 'taste' needs i.e less spicy etc. We also worked with the team to design the menu based off their experience at past Indian events and we never once felt pressured to 'add more' just for the sake of it hence they were very comfortable to work with. This is one of the few restaurants in Sydney where the food flavour is close to authentic Indian taste. The food was well balanced in terms of spices and taste and the staff was friendly. Top class service and top class food👍 . I never ever had this kind of beautiful experience in any Indian restaurant. It’s a must visit restaurant, they make you feel so special when you walk in to the restaurant(marvellous service boys keep it up). When we walked in, boy asked us for table preference and then we got complimentary pappaddums straight away. He also checked on our entrees, mains and desserts weather we liked it or not whereas other restaurant’s staff wouldn’t bother to check the food on table. I must say food was amazing as service was. I loooooove this Indian restaurant! I tried it for the first time over the Easter long weekend and i can't fault anything! The food was amazing - it's not your standard Indian dishes... There was a lot of dishes on their menu that i'd never heard of before, but there was 4 of us so we ordered a bunch of dishes that neither of us had tried and everything was delicious! The drinks were great and their mango lassi is one of the best i've ever tasted. The staff were excellent too! Super friendly, and very attentive. I'll definitely be going back to this place.

The staff is very polite and have a great humorous touch in their conversation. Coming to the food quality, we are vegetarians and we ordered banquet option from the menu, which they agreed to serve though it wasn't in their menu. The unlimited servings, garnished dishes made our dinner worth the celebration we went there for. The samosas, tender grilled paneer, the tikki in the entrees were so delicious. The mains had rada paneer, gravy bhindi, and kofta. We can't come over the taste of all these items. The dessert was cherry on top, the kulfi with honey was a great closure to our big dinner. This place needs a reservation on weekends. Highly recommend for indian foods lovers!

If you are planning on reaching this restaurant by car, it will take a very long time to find parking nearby. Expect to wait at least 15 mins for parking. The main was good in contrast to the dessert which was alright. The appetisers were exceptionally good. They offer a wide range of beverages both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. The cloth under the table covers aren’t washed often and when I encountered the restaurant for the first time, i found an exceptionally large puddle of what seemed to be dal stained my clothes. The service is great and the price seemed a bit high-ended for this particular restaurant. The ambience was “warm” and featured Christmas decorations. Overall, i would recommend this restaurant keeping in mind the parking issues. I would advise the restaurant to maintain sanitary precautions for its customers and advice prior to entry parking lots.

I am originally from the North of India and Delhi O Delhi is far the best north Indian restaurant in Sydney , the Raan is amazing, the Goat Biryani awesome , and the food has this authentic north Indian flavour which no restaurant is Sydney is capable of...
