Comments of Devon Cafe Barangaroo

Nice atmosphere and super friendly staffs. Love the food and coffee at this cafe. Will definitely come back to try more dishes.
A. Z.
(04/12/21) Great food and ambience ☺️ My only regret was not arriving a bit earlier because some dishes were sold out! I ordered the ebi katsu omurice which featured 3 crispy ebi pieces, soft scrambled egg, umami sauce and tomato flavoured rice! I’ll definitely be back to try other dishes~
UPDATE (08/12/21): I came back a few days later and was able to try the eggs on daze and cheeky toastie. 100% recommend the cheeky toastie because of the awesome textures!! The amalgamation of crispy bread, gooey cheese, tender beef and crunchy pickle/ chilli was sooo good 🤤 It’s a bit too rich for one person to enjoy .. best shared!
C. M.
Lovely cafe with quality on par with all the other Devon cafes. The omurice I had was tasty however was a bit much and I found myself tired of the taste halfway through
J. H.
Lovely Lunch Venue, had a great Nourish Bowl with super Yummy Chicken, the OG big breakfast was also really good would recommend
M.
Can't fault this cafe! Super yummy food and friendly service. Ordered the mie goreng with chicken and it was one of the best brunch meals I've had! Super flavourful!
Q.
The truffle menu is a little bit expensive.
Burger and coffee is good.
Mushroom pasta with truffle is normal and not be a good choice in a cafe.
D. C.
Great boutique cafe for brunch. Has the usual favourites but also specialises in black truffle experiences. Strong coffee, too. Service was a bit slow for food, but it was worth the wait. Will definitely try again.
R. T.
The spot to have an amazing food!
We went in for brunch and were not expecting what we have found. Such an amazing food with great service. Enjoy the photos.
M.
Nice location in Barangaroo (previously in Waterloo) with outdoor dog friendly seating. Good selection of menu items and we had the Sheila (avo on toast) which was a bit ordinary looking but tasted good and the mie goreng with spiced fried chicken which was very tasty. Coffees were very good too.
The service on the Australia Day public holiday was quite slow but staff were very friendly.
w. c.
Great place for coffee and food! Love the sandwiches. Tried the fancy mee goreng, highly recommend the scampi one, the truffle one was tasty but a bit bland when having both side by side.
S. D.
Creative menu that makes my boyfriend no idea what to order 😂 have to try their Salmon and 63' egg! Tried their truffle menu and I really like the curly fries with truffle and salted egg yolks! Price wise is a bit expensive.
G. Y.
Cold food and delay.. not impressed service, average coffee

I come to this cafe a lot since they always have something new. My all time faves are the Breakfast with the Sakumas and loving their new fusion desserts with bubble tea. If you go before 12 you will be able to find a seat. Staff are friendly and service is quick. Reasonably priced as well.
K. A.
Good food and great coffee complimented by friendly staff and service.
K. N.
Prices are very hefty at Devon. The menu has an eccentric selection of fusion food. I went for the omelette on a bed of garlic rice, crumbled prawns and gravy which I definitely recommend. The snap doesn’t do it justice. The coffee here is pretty terrible so you’re better off going elsewhere after for a doughnut and coffee instead. Wild Sage is a competitor to this cafe and rightly so. Come here if you want something a little bit different but expect to pay pretty high prices ($25-30 for a main for brunch)
K. F.
Quick breakfast run and got ourselves some sandwiches to try. The pandan custard wasn’t too sweet and was just perfect with the nicely toasted bread. We added a soft boiled egg to dip on the side and it was just on point! I loved the japanese omelette sando and the furikake was a nice touch on it (wouldn’t mind having more though)
Coffee was good too, overall a great experience!
L. T.
Always great food. Went specifically for the truffle menu and it certainly lived up top expectations. Service was good and the ambience is not bad. Gets a little windy outside due to location but they provide blankets which is a nice touch.
D.
Second time at this branch of Devon Cafe and walked away happy again. The location is convenient and in the heart of beautiful barangaroo. The place seems to be always bustling with business folk, especially during lunch, but service is still quick and friendly. The atmosphere is trendy and welcoming, with decent decor and open seating.
We ordered the chia seed dish, and mushroom sando as well as the soft serve and chips. The fruits were fresh and tasty in the chia seed but the highlight was the mushroom sando which had a delectable blend of flavours and textures around a portobello mushroom which was cooked perfectly.
Would recommend!
L. T.
Taste was okay, just too pricey
S. L. K.
No queue on a Thu morning. We had the Saffron Angel Hair Pasta and the Tom Yum Ebi Katsu Sando. Both were delicious but the pasta really impressed us! It had generous serving of crab meat, the clams were really fresh, and no words can adequately describe how delicious the pasta is. It's probably the best meal we had in Sydney. Service was great as well.
A. S.
Seriously good food, highly recommended.
Good friendly service.
Crab pasta with the 3’ egg is my go to dish.
Truffle menu is currently available, however a $20 bowl of chips with truffle seems a tad overpriced.
The signature Matcha white hot chocolate is delicious, and other coffees are well brewed.
Price is on the expensive side for a cafe.
Very busy on the weekend especially.

I first visited Devon in Surry hills and immediately thought Barangaroo had much better food quality. Despite the service being terrible without any niceties, our group had an amazing time with my toddler son.
Tables outside are better for children, or in the corner inside but all in all I would come here again. Fantastic presentation and delicious meals.
R. M.
Such a solid choice for breakfast and brunch! Pre COVID I would get my coffee here every morning, it was consistently fantastic. I have been a fan of Devon for years since they first opened in Surry Hills, and this iteration is just as good as the original. The menu is unique and flavourful, and the execution always on point. Most recently a friend and I had the mee goreng with scampi and the kaya toast, which we absolutely loved. I really dig their selection of sambos as well, the tom yum prawn katsu is out of this world. Staff are super lovely. Cannot sing the praises of this place enough!
S. L.
Good services, nice staff. The food was absolutely delicious 😋
We enjoyed the lunch experience there.
J. H.
At the new Barangaroo precinct. Fast service. Little Lost Bread, fanciest french toast ever (with leaf gold!). Decent coffee.
Revisit. Service was a bit slower. New Black Forest “french toast”, not as good as the previous one.
Y. Y.
Staff always attentive. Food always delicious!
O. M.
Great coffee and beautiful location
L. N.
Marvelous food. Their breakfast with Sakuma is one of the kind in Sydney. Salmon for brunch with 63degree egg. A bit pricey but it's worth it for their food quality.
For dessert, you can order soft serve with chips. GENIUS!
B. D. T.
It’s nice but we had a bad experience with a few meals. Went back and it was even more mediocre. The staff are fab but they just let us down three times so 🤷♀️
M.
Had a booking but got the ‘we don’t take bookings’ on arrival. Short on staff so ordered at the counter with 30 mins delay in food being ready. All that said - fantastic prawn Sando was worth the wait.
s. w.
the truffle wagyu omurice was very yummy, efficient and quick service.
F. T.
Devon Barangaroo is a nice cafe. The food and drinks were tasty...it was on par with the original in Surry Hills. We suggest trying their Dr Seuss and Bubba Gump Omelette. The staff was okay and provided good service. It's a good option to consider if you want to head out to a cafe in the Barangaroo area.
A. S.
Seriously good food, highly recommended.
Good friendly service.
Crab pasta with the 3’ egg is my go to dish. …
M. W.
Outdoor seating available, french toast very nice, service great
A. S.
Rates 3.5/5.
Having pleased many a customer at its original surry hills outlet for years, it makes good biz sense to plant another at barangaroo to woo the corporate n touristy types, while crowds’ favs like sakuma n blinis continue to attract me.
Sakuma 4/5, glad they serve one of their signature here at barangaroo. And kept up the standard set by surry hills.
Bubba gum omelette; cheese omelette, prawns, vege n croissant. Looks good but did not get to try.
Squid ink crab pasta 2.75/5; overcooked pasta, bland tomato puree. An average dish, have it if you want pasta.
Angus striploin 3.25/5, i am never a fan of striploin as it can get a wee chewy. So it was but you wont be much shortchanged if you gotta have a steak, though i’d rather have mine unsullied by some sauce.
I wonder why they dont stick to the same surry hills menu here.
A. T. A.
Very nice and cozy place. Loved the customer service. The staffs were very nice and friendly. The food were absolutely delicious. Overall, awesome experience!
E. L.
Decent cafe, food was alright but not mind blowing, had a chai latte that tasted watery, quite disappointing. However, plenty of seating for inside and outside tables and moderate service.
J. H.

Excellent food and great atmosphere for a late lunch. We were during the week when everyone was at work so it was nice and quiet. I ordered the omelette which was awesome but unfortunately each location has slightly different menu and they did not have the one I wanted to try at the Barangaroo location. Nonetheless, highly recommend Devon cafe to any Sydney locals or tourists.
M. F.
Me and my friends really liked the Devon on Devon Street but the Barangaroo branch seems overpriced. More expensive than the Devon Cafe near Central Station. I ordered Crab Pasta and it wasn’t that good. $29 for a small serving of pasta is not worth the travel. And, they don’t have the French Toast yet .
H. W.
Went there around lunch time on Sunday and there was no line. Great not having to wait and the food was quite delicious. I got the breakfast with the sakuma's and the eel croquet was made to perfection. Light and crispy on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside.
b. b.
Delicious sando!!! Very satisfied with the KJI fried chicken sando, salmon katsu was good too. Others might complain about the size of the sando being too small but I found it just right for someone with a small appetite like mine :)
B. D. T.
It’s nice but we had a bad experience with a few meals. Went back and it was even more mediocre. The staff are fab but they just let us down three times so 🤷♀️
J. W.
One of our favourite cafes and love their version of some classic brunches with an Asian twist, and good coffee. Their signature dish and must try is Breakfast with the Sakumas and it's the best miso flavoured salmon ever! Very moist and juicy salmon infused with a subtle but delicious miso flavours.
R. H.
Love the new store in Barangaroo, much spacious than the original one in Devonshire street. Menu is the same and quality is also the same. Prices is a bit more expensive but it is expected due to the location
B. N. T.
I like the atmosphere of the store, and the food is amazing. The only minus is the price is expensive, but you cannot avoid it when dining at Barangaroo.
M. S.
The salmon omurice is next level flavour 👌 went there 3 times in 2 weeks just for this dish.
G. K.
Been to this place several times and their soft serve ice creams are to die for! I love it so much still go for it in winter ;)
Working in on a weekend at least a gal have to treat herself. I ordered their BREAKFAST WITH THE SAKUMAS and the spice rub on the salmon was from another world!
I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes.
J.
The owner (not sure if he is the owner but at least manager who in charge that day) was really friendly. My friend was asking for decaf but we were told their machine couldn't get it done. He managed to get for us with a free desert as an apology. Have been to this place few times. Never got disappointed by the food or coffee.
J. C.
Been here a few times now and I love the food and coffee. Unfortunately I have to rate it lower because the bacon katsu I ordered last week was so slow my friend had already ate half her omurice and another time my ritual order went missing.
J. Y.
Came here to taste their omurice. This is definitely not your typical omurice. The rice was full of flavour and chicken was so tender and juicy. It is abit on a pricey side but the portion is huge for one especially if you are a small eater.
F. H.
Food was good, omurice is as close to what you would expect from japan. Pork ragu was good too. Service outside was neglected as it was a busy lunch time.
G.
Very quiet on the Saturday that we had brunch. Maybe due to rain, possibly due to location. But nice location to have a stroll around afterward as well. Good food as usual (been to their Surry hills branch also)
K. L.
A lovely place for breakfast in Barangaroo. Well presented tasty options. 63 degree eggs are an option. Good coffee including cold brew.
B. (. B.
We usually just grab coffee from Devon, but today we felt like trying the Lunch menu. We had the chicken katsu with kimchi mayo, it was a great mix! but.... lacked any greens. Straight up just chicken and mayo not saying it was bad it was delicious as heck but would be nice if it came with a side of salad free with the sandwich and only charged extra for the chips. The coffee is great as always and the service can be alittle direct but they are all nice people 😊. Next time you are around Barangaroo check out Devon cafe.
W. K.
A great place for coffee in Barangaroo. Great service and interesting items on the menu. Their thick cut bacon dishes are lovely.
S. T.
Came for a quick brunch and coffee. Food came out quick and tasted amazing. Friendly and quick service. Will definitely come again and try the rest of the menu. Keep it up!
L. H.
Love the truffle beef pie and hot chocolate here. And staff were so so so friendly and helpful!
J. Q.
Coffee as always is consistently good, and the light filled, scandi inspired ambiance makes it a cafe favourite. Had the omurice which was light and fluffy. Prices only a bit steep.
D. S.
The most innovative creative brunch in Sydney. So much flavour and thought in the presentation. Interesting fusion flavor combinations that makes your mind jerk in bewilderment. Highly recommend.
B. H.
Unfortunately they don't have truffle anymore because it's out of season :( But the food itself is still very good, especially the chips :)
K. S.
Great location and fantastic coffee. Food is on a more expensive side for the portions but overall i loved it.
O. F.
Good food and service. Just needs heating inside the cafe as it feels like you're inside a refrigerated room.
D. B.
Sunday lunch, lovely service, plates with a Asian fusion. Tried Eggs Blini very good!
Kitchen open till 3:30pm.
A. G.
We were not notified that there would be a Sunday subcharge until we saw our bills (or maybe on the menu? Too small to catch the attention) service was below average tbh, tho the taste was good. And food was also delivered very slowly
A. G.
One of my favorite places for weekend brunch. Their menu changes and it's truffle season time. I didn't try their truffle but opted a slightly healthier option with bruschetta. I was pleasantly surprised because it was sooo delicious! I swapped poached eggs with their 63c eggs. Yummm!
M.
Came here on a relatively quiet Saturday arvo. Ordered a soy pic and a weak latte. Latte milk was super burnt which was a disappointment, management recognised and was not very apologetic. Soy pic was good, blackforest cake was also decent. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
M. J.
Had a decent V60 here before work, the coffee aroma woke me up as well as the first sip.
A. L.
Really tasty sandwiches here! The egg sandwich reminds me of the kind you get in a Hong Kong cafe but it's not quite as good but is still very, very good! Currently it's close to a construction site so sitting inside is recommended but it wouldn't go astray to turn up the air con just a tad!
s. w.
the truffle wagyu omurice was very yummy, efficient and quick service.
A. M.
Coffee is always good.
A little bit pricey for cafe food but love coming to here on the weekend no need to line up like the surry hills one
R. G.
Went on a Sunday so there was a bit of a wait with the place being short on staff but the dishes and beverages tasted great.
C. T.
Food is pretty average and over priced. Convenient location with outdoor seating.
A. K.
Migoreng and chips were great :)
But service wasn’t great because they were understaffed.
W. T.
The wagyu bowl was ok. Mushrooms were sauteed very well, rice was good, egg was perfectly runny but I don't think it's the best quality wagyu beef. It tasted pretty meh. The most disappointing item is the salmon katsu sando. Extremely overpriced. Tasted like a dry potato croquette with a hint of fishy salmon flavouring between 2 slices of regular white bread. $17 for this??? Don't get this. Sando from 7/11 in Japan is 100 times better. Better stick with the regular Breakfast with the Sakuma's here. Everything else is average. Service was great though.
M. L.
I don’t know where to start about my experience. The atmosphere is great, the service was stellar, and the food was to die for!
I’m not even a coffee drinker however I thought it would be the safe way to try truffle. Absolutely amazing!
P. L.
Good food, but the portions are tiny and the service is extremely awkward and a bit strange (not rude or terrible, just...strange). That said, it's in an office area, they're set up for the in-and-out office crowd and less for people trying to relax and enjoy Sunday brunch. But regardless still one of the better brunch options in the area, and I still go regularly despite feeling a bit out of place everytime I sit down here.
X.
The food was great but sitting outside was cold in the winter morning.
n. t.
We had few lunches here. The food was amazing, and we enjoyed perfect wait service, love their fresh scampi ink pasta and sesame pudding. The service was excellent. Got wow factor for sure, must try! Go go go!
S. K.
Love the truffle dishes!! Good service too
S. M.
Really unusual breakfast offerings but decent quality food. Expensive for breakfast. Tasty and a good time :)
K.
Unforgettable breakfast. Visited twice in 4 days Sydney trip.
Y. S.
Friendly place for family. Delicious brunch ..
Their omurice is the best ^^
M. W.
Outdoor seating available, french toast very nice, service great
R. S.
Do yourself a favour. Order the toast with Kaya and soft boiled eggs and add a side of bacon.
D. v. H.
Price quality ratio is good. Good coffee, nice juice and eggs on toast. Friendly staff!
R. T.
Bit on the expensive side for brunch. There's also a 10% surcharge for Sundays. Coffee was nice though.
S. S.
Delicious food and excellent customer service. Would recommend for brunch around Barangaroo.
R.
Amazing flavours! The wagyu steak and Dr Seuss were awesome. Coffee is great as well.
N. A.
Very interesting breakfast options. The food is delicious and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
Also location wise it's great. Close to the train station. It's got outdoor options but you won't get caught in direct sun.
Recommended
N. S.
Food was so delicious! A bit pricey but thats ok, would definately come back.
A. L.
Lovely cafe with asian inspired brunch food. Highly recommend the eel sando.
C. C.
I’ve been this morning to catch up with a friend. Tables outside were empty did not get why they were arguing whether I could sit or no, probably miscommunication.. anyway finally I could sit in one of the majority empty tables and I was a bit disappointed by the breakfast menu, literally few items.. the rest was only for lunch... i’m Working as cafe manager and the service was average.
Definitely something must be improved on my point of view. Coffee wasn’t bad anyway.
O. M.
Great coffee and beautiful location
R. P.
Nice coffee and breakfast was a good serving for the price!
Y. H.
Love the food except the fried chicken sandwich. We ordered one and it tasted like a mix of fridge food so we asked if it was off. The waitress was not very friendly and said nobody complained about this today. And she also explained why this was tasted like that with impatient face. Though she offered an exchange of dishes, I personally wouldn’t go there again. She was also very pushy when we ordered. Asked for 3 times if we were ready to order when nobody was waiting there. It could make us feel like she’s in a rush.
Conclusion is great food but not very pleasing service.
R. J.
Remember kitchen last order is 3:30
Tastewise gooood
S. 9.
Fantastic tasting food, at a fantastic Café. Nice and friendly staff. Would recommend, and will come back!
Y. Y.
Staff always attentive. Food always delicious!
N. l.
It takes too long to get the food being served to our table, probably 40 minutes after we get seated. The food is creative and tasty for my dish.
My mom's bruschetta ingredients are served relatively cold and not even warm. She is quite disappointed and feel this cafe fails her expectations.
F. A.
Nice location and decor - good breakfast spot. Lots of yummy options - when I went there was a truffle inspired menu along with some basic breakfast options and some Japanese inspired breakfast.
I had the schroom toast which was ok.
Only reason for not giving 4/5 stars was the service but this could have been because it was very busy on Friday morning. They are not willing to swap poached eggs for scrambled on any of the classic options which is a shame when the standard is poached eggs which eliminates a lot of options for pregnant people or people with dietary requirements. Service can be quite slow when busy.
Could have been made better with a smile!
A. N.
Fancy brekky experience. They didn’t use to have plain old bacon and eggs on the menu years ago so I’m glad for the boring peeps like me that they added that. Food here was really good.
d.
Good food but a bit on the pricey side
R. C.
Very welcoming staff . Tasty and well presented plates and a AMAZING gluten free Brownie :)
S. Y.
Nice place nice truffle coffee 😍
A. C.
Always five star for the food, and the location is amazing. The Omurice is worth the wait...
J. T.
Always good food and always bad service (hit and miss). I frequent this place because the menu is always innovative. But if it was any less I wouldn't stand for the inattentiveness and eye rolls.
Bit windy to sit outside and always in the shade, but they have the heaters on for winter. Never had to wait long.
The cold drinks menu is a bit boring, but the coffee never lets me down. With truffle season in it is quite pricey if you want a taste of the delicacy, and can even deck out their classic ice cream and fries with shaved truffle!
K. H.
It’s open until 4.30pm which is useful in this area if you are not fun of having drinks but have a chat with friends or colleagues in the afternoon.
A. L.
4 stars because our team’s favorite Unagi Tamago sandwich was removed from the menu :((((((
Otherwise a great cafe with really good service and other food.
B. T.
Ordered the omelette rice and can't say I was blown by it. The rice was drowned in gravy sauce. Also, we were waiting for a table and there were plenty of empty tables. What in the world?
S. L.
🔥 SAKUMA
S. a. V.
Had the hanger steak
Cooked perfectly
Thanks chef
M. L.
Enjoyed our breakfast, especially the salmon.
K. C.
Great cafe for brunch, and fab coffee.
N. M.
I have two words for you - Japanese Omelette
Oh my GOD! The best breakfast dish I have had in a while and my personal favourite. You’re seriously missing out if you haven’t tried it. Also very reasonably priced so a great weekday breakfast while in the office. Never change.
H. T.
Love the atmosphere and great food!
R. M.
We have been to Devon on three occasions including breakfast, morning tea and a lunch. On each occasion, we found it to be of the highest quality. Service has been consistent, friendly and timely. We did not feel rushed, even when it did become quite busy. Some tables a little close to each other. We dont find that this adds atmosphere, just noise and issues with comprehending the conversation. Had a super egg bacon breakfast once and the Waldorf salad another time. Mild Japanese influences which make a boring salad really fresh and enjoyable. Their barista also makes a great coffee, which is always the deciding factor.
J. P.
This is one of the best coffees I’ve ever had in my life
F. K.
Devon have great food but their Boba tea ice cream is a rip off. I had to specifically ask for it as it’s not on their menu, so I was shocked to find that the cup of ice cream cost me $10! I would definitely not order that again. It’s just a flavour of ice cream...nothing special.
I.
Absolutely amazing. Had the Breakfast with the Sakuma's (Miso King Salmon) and the Eggs Blini. Both were delicious, with a very unique flavour. Coffees were nice too. Would definitely return - although do mind that it's a bit on the pricier side for their fancier dishes.
R. M.
Finally a cafe with well trained staff ! These days who waits for both diners to be finished before clearing plates? Devon Cafe does. I had the Corny Benny which was just the right size and a great balance of flavors. Hubby had the pork ragout which was tasty, but not overspiced.
We definately will be back.
J. C.
What a great experience today!
We were fortunate to enjoy an attentive and friendly service.
There's a very reasonable wait time too
as the food was amazing. In a good weather, it’s very worthwhile sitting outside! We will be back!
T.
Healthy, virbrant fresh dishes on the lunch menu. Convenient to Wynward Station and Barangaroo ferry wharf. A great place to stop if walking from Chinatown to the Opera House along the harbours edge.
S. F.
Got the omurice truffle and truffle fries. Was very delcious and happy with the service. The truffle wasn't incorporated as much into the dish - more an afterthought but otherwise a great meal
K. C.
Went here on a Weekend's afternoon, was a little bit packed, but the atmosphere was so relaxing, great for friends catch up and Brunching. This location is a newly developed area, surrounded by some buildings, David Jones right across the cafe. My friend ordered a Dr.Seuss (which has a thick cut bacon ),was alright. I ordered a Bruchetta, I like how the whole things come together with so many ingredients on a bread. But I think it's a little bit pricy to a cafe. The service was alright, staff was friendly but sometime might couldn't keep up with the pace. To sum up, this is a cafe to try , good for bringing your friends over if they travel to Sydney; pet friendly, you would enjoy a lot if you sitting outdoor area with the pets, cause the outdoor environment just awesome.
T. C.
Great food, great location. There was a line, but the turn over is high, so we were seated quickly. The salmon breakfast was awesome..all the meals had quirky names.
F.
A busy Cafe in a very modern new area.
Food had nice presentation.
Only tried these so far:
Saffron Angel Hair Pasta - Very Tasty :)
Eggs any Style - Nice
Dr. Suess - Nice
Omurice - Ok
Matcha Latte - Bit powdery (as there's powder sprinkled on top)
Matcha White Choc Drink (Hot) - Nice and sweet
Cappuccino - A bit more bitter than average
C.
Extremely generous with the truffle, but unfortunately the pairing of truffle with the other ingredients didn't really bring out the flavors. Crab pasta was also mushy and overcooked. All in all the food looked better than it tasted and was a slight disappointment
B. J.
Food is really good though expect portions to be small and expect to have lunch after your brunch unless you had at least dishes! If you've been the the Surry Hills Devon and liked the intimate, cosy ambiance this is much more common/commercial (very much in the style of other Barangaroo location). Service was very good.
M. D.
Didn’t love the food - had the salmon poke bowl and felt the ratios were out, eg a lot of avocado and seaweed. Partner had the corny Benny and wasn’t a fan of having broccolini on it. Seemed like an eccentric fusion that missed the mark.
J. S.
Perfectly omelette, good coffee, wait time brings down rating
C. L.
An interesting experience indeed. We came to this restaurant because we saw the matcha and taro ice cream with pearls online. Didn't realise that most of the pictures were from the North Sydney menu, instead of here (our fault). Decided to have brunch here anyway. I came knowing that the place was Asian fusion themed. Anyway we were still shook from what we got. Eg. Japanese styled egg topped with Mexican salsa with a side of croissant. Chuck a few prawns in there, why not. Also, deep fried mushroom sandwiches. Wasn't the Asian mushrooms like expected but the more Western used mushroom instead. Though five plus points for the crusts cut off. Finally that hash brown. Was expecting that the least. It was really deep fried noodles in the shape of a brick. No potato. What a texture. The point is, as Asians who grew up westernized ourselves, let me just say: this ain't it, chief. Throwing a bunch of random food and toppings that may taste great separately, weren't the best together. That's our opinion only. If that is your type of thing then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, but probably don't sacrifice logic for the aesthetic. We left before trying the thing we came for. But still, thank you for a great experience, it was an amusing conversation topic.

Great food. Will definitely go back next time I am in Sydney
C. H.
Had the fried chicken and wagyu steak sandos, both very nice. Lots of options on the menu but expensive.
K. D. L.
Average cafe with limited food choices.
The food was ok but not worth the price asking.
I found the menu quite limited as it had "over engineered" meals.
The food is ok, but they would attract more customers with an improved and simplified menu.
Service can be improved by having a portable eft machine rather than the plugged in terminal. This prevents queues and delayed departure.
M. “. P.
I ordered the smashed avo and feta which was delicious, just the right size and reasonably priced.
As someone with a small appetite, I usually ask for the eggs to be left out to avoid wastage of food so I liked that the eggs were an add on at Devon.
F. W.
Great place for coffee and breakfast, Asian infused food, very interesting and good tasting.
They use smallbatch and seven seed roasters, both melbourne based. Great espresso and filter. Will be back and even want to checkout their other locations.

Lunch Special is Good :)
K. S. (.
Friendly staff. Coffee seemed expensive for a small cup. Didn't eat the food as there was nothing we wanted. Place was clean. Nothing wrong with it in general, just didn't WOW us.
N. T.
I really love this place, the staff have been so friendly and helpful - they really do go the extra mile for the customer - really grateful for the work that they do
The food is great! I love how interesting the food is.
I had my 21st there recently, and I just want to say thanks so much for making it a blast!
D. L.
Breakfast with the Sakuma’s was pretty good although the smoke eel croquette in the dish was average. Didn’t like the bubba gump omelette at all. Truffle soft serve was amazing - wouldn’t expect such a combination to work but it did!
S. R.
Food was great! Refresher juice was very good. The Saffron Angel Hair Pasta wasnt quite the best. Had an odd flavour
M. S.
I absolutely love this pace. The service is great but the food is amazing and definitely the best food I have ever had at a cafe. I would highly recommend the Hanger Steak and the Omurice Japanese Omelete! My favourite cafe by far!
E. T.
Went for lunch and it was not busy given most people are still WFH. Had Omurice with Fried Chicken and portuguese seasoned fries, food was consistent and delicious Great experience overall.
E. C.
Not bad the food is, but the waitresses are not good at English...A bit hard to communicate.
S. F.
An expensive nice breakfast spot. They have a lot of very unique food choices, and the staff was fast and curious. My wife had the Breakfast with the Sakuma's and she really enjoyed everything except the eel.
S. L.
book a private party for my best friend's first born. we get exclusive use of the cafe, custom made menu, and excellent serve, all with a super happy price! definitely recommen it to everyone
E. W.
Cold drip coffee is really delicious!
A. W.
We were sat promptly but couldn't get anyone's attention to get a coffee ordered. Seems we had to wait until they were ready to take our food order, and coffee at the same time.. food was good but expectations overall a little underwhelmed.
C. L.
Always great food and good service. Amazing flavors but it has slowly become a much pricier brunch. We only go once in a long while.
K. T.
I ordered the Japanese omelette and it was the most delicious thing I have ever had. Great Cafe and location, will definetely revisit this place in the future to try other things on the menu.
S. C.
Good quality breakfast options, but the salmon on bun option for breakfast was lacking in size compared to the other breakfast items which were similarly priced. Still a nice option if you want a better than average Cafe food near wynyard
E. K.
Searched for best brunches and Devon came up. Pondered the Surry Hills version but landed on Barangaroo as easier for us to get to. Took a little while to find because 200 B Avenue is actually the block so look on all sides!
Well worth hunting out as despite how busy the place was the service was efficient and friendly.
Both ordered the miso salmon, eel croquette and 69^ egg dish.... super impressed, an unusual but winning combination of flavours and texture. Saw the omelettes coming out which also looked fab. Will be trying the North Sydney venue next as they have slightly different menu and offer fish cakes!
L. C.
A good menu with interesting fusion ideas. Coffee is great.
C. L.
Friendly service. Quality of food is consistent with the few times i've been here (the Breakfast at the Sakuma's will always be a fave of mine!). Quite busy during the lunchtime rush
J. O.
Great location in barangaroo, however the price is higher then the Devon central station and the menu is different. But friendly staff and very cozy place.
D. T.
Excellent food and friendly staff. Their twist on some classics with truffles is a must try.
P. K.
Eggplant Parma sandwich. So good
Expensive for what it is tho.
M. C.
Good ambience and location. Bit of Asian fusion cafe food. Good presentation and sauces. Coffee blend used is quite unique in taste too. Pay a visit.
Y.
Food ain't bad but is nothing to rave about either
K. K.
The service was excellent, even at a very busy time the wait wasn't long and the food prepared quickly. The menu includes truffles for this time of year, a delicious option
L. Z.
Great coffee and delicious breakfast.
J. L.
Great coffee, seriously delicious food and fast service made this a great choice for breakfast.
S. L.
After spending the weekend away, we stopped at this cafe, then we came back for more. Great spot, awesome food.
J. R.
Great little Cafe. Would get perfect 5 stars but the wagyu was a little tough and hard to chew. Otherwise great customer service.
A. G.
Always have new menus!
S. K.
Very busy cafe. We had to sit outside which was very windy and the heater was broken 😦 The coffee was nice and creamy. Food was filling and tasty. Will be back but not sitting outside.
D. H.
Great cafe with staff who remember you. My pick for breakfast is the Japanese Omelette Sando which has that authentic Japanese taste and smell about it and is just delicious!
N. M.
Great coffee and exceptional food
M. M.
Food is very good but it is expensive. I always make sure to come back for the winter truffle menu. Would like some more variation in the truffle menu... Maybe something with truffle honey?
C.
Very tasty food and good service. Worth trying to see if it fits your taste!
G. L. M.
Great experience. Food was interesting and delicious. Service was extremely friendly.
Highly recommend.
A. Z.
not too bad for that price, only problem is not enough
J. V.
Amazing chips and the sando's are next level! Great coffee and friendly service. Can get busy at lunch.
B. W.
Great food and coffee
Y. A.
A bit crowded. Good service and food.
T. B.
Not bad for a quick morning bite. Reasonably priced, quick service. It's pretty small and cramped, but ok if you're just popping in quickly.
K. D.
Took the family of 4, was easy finding something that everyone loved. Every single meal was a success on its own.
I. K.
Good location. A bit windy. The coffee i had was a bit off.... burnt beans and quite watered down.
M. R.
Excellent presentation and amazing tasting food. Will be back to try the rest of the menu.
M. K.
Coffee is good, sandwiches i tried were Ebi Tom yum sando and Salmon sando. They were both tasty and fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful.
R. C.
I love this cafe. Very Japanese influenced menu. I had the Japanese omelette it’s the best omelette I had in a long time ...
B. A.
This place do great sandwiches. I'd recommend the fried chicken sandwich, comes with a side salad or chips, I chose the salad which was only lettuce with dressing... I chose poorly
L.
very busy but large space.
W. A.
Nice environment and nice location. Foods were okay, however the food price is a bit overpriced.
L. W.
The taste is not amazing, just general.
k. k.
We had our amazing breakfast morning and we loved the ambience and food served. Excellent!!!
S.
Great place to pop in for lunch, was a little crowded but there was still outdoor seating available. The food was good and service was friendly.
S. E.
Friendly staff, great spot in the morning, and often good company. Large, strong coffee, reasonable pricing.
M.
Pricey for me, but the best Aussie breakfast so far I had there. So worth every penny
T. H. W.
The salmon dish was probably the best for me. Its juicy and tender. Was told it was marinated. Would come again.
E. G.
We waited 30 minutes for the food, but all worth it. The food were amazing
C. L.
Food was delicious and service was quick. So quick in fact I got my breakfast before my latte.
Z. W.
Great menu and the waiter was excellent despite being really busy. Try the Matcha soft serve
S. L.
Lovely atmosphere. Even better food. Perfect location for lunch or a quick business meeting.
S. W.
Still great coffee, but Food has let the team down - not up to the standard of Devon Surry Hills or Devon on Danks.
A. S.
Delicious! Had a matcha latte, the beef cheek and green eggs and ham - all fantastic!
C. C.
Great brunch cafe
C. J.
Really nice food! Good service
J. A.
Nice little cafe with a Japanese/Western fusion. Odd that they don't place salt on the tables, a must for their scrambled eggs... 😊
M. T.
A little pricey but beautiful food and coffee. Service is good. Would recommend!
R. Y.
Great filter coffee.
A. C.
A bit pricy but worth it. Enjoyed every meal I have had there thus far.
Y. G.
Nice brunch cafe, like their truffle menu
I. L.
Good breakfast deal, considering it’s in the heart of CBD. The service is lukewarm but again could be the city attitude too.
T. Y.
Excellent, creative dishes. A little on the pricey side and can sometimes be packed.
R. L.
Quality food and drinks. A bit misunderstanding about the price, but all good at last. Thanks for the prompt response.
J. F.
Top service. Pseudo classy eats. Better than mediocre frikkin cwafee. I enjoyed it.
J. B.
The food was absolutely delicious. Coffee was superb.
C. L.
