Comments of Emerson's Restaurant

Cool place, diverse menu, taste and flavour takes centre stage. This little gem is one of the best kept secrets of the Hunter. Great value for a menu you won't find anywhere else. Thank you for having us @Emersons
G. R.
Really tasty food by Emerson Rodriguez. We had the mushroom risotto, pumpkin, cauliflower and roasted potatoes. Every bite was delicately balanced and full of flavour. They also have good tap beer. Best lunch we had during our Hunter Valley Trip

Not sure why there isn't a line out the door trying to get into this place. Sensational dishes, served with flair, reasonably priced. Some hidden gems on the wine list including a jawdropping 20 year old semillon available by the glass. We're looking forward to trying more on this menu. Great job!

Food really delicious.
Amazing staff, courteous and very kind.
Beautiful view!
We will definitely come back soon.

Food is AMAZING! Drinks are AMAZING! But most of all the staff and chef are so lovely and helpful we have children with allergies and the staff and Chef were just amazing they helped us with everything and double checked everything as well, this service is hard to find! XxxxX

The waitress that served us here made us feel uncomfortable and clearly didn't want to be there. I can't remember her name but she told us she had only worked there for a couple of weeks.
I ordered the porterhouse which was listed as $48 on the menu (no sides included). She told me there was a $10 surcharge for the steak.
At the end of lunch she tried to charge me $20 extra ($10 each for me and my partner for the one steak)
I told her I wouldn't have ordered it if she had explained that to me and she proceeded to gaslight me. Luckily she agreed to charge us the extra $10 but it still put me in a bad mood. You're dreaming if you think that steak is worth $78. Lucky we weren't sitting on a table with 30 others or she would have tried to charged us an extra $300 for the one steak
Anyway, the other dishes were fine, and the bloke in the cellardoor was really lovely and gave us a good wine tasting experience (I think his name was Steve).

Had take away coffee from here before heading off for our first wine tasting. Service was really nice and quick and coffee was good. Would come back for coffee for sure and maybe even a meal.

We took and impromptu drive up to the Hunter Valley and landed at Adina for lunch. Enjoyed the Fritter Balls for entree, fish of the day Mackerel was good, steak was ok could have been more elegant in its plating. Overall good experience. Views were not as impressive as other wineries due to location. Service and staff were great.
R. S.
Sensational sucking pig and slow cooked duck risotto. Large yet beautifully presented portions, reasonable prices, great service and stellar coffee. Absolutely brilliant! Will be back and will be sending others!

Place is nice and relaxed. Breakfast menu is limited. Bacon and eggs served in a bowl was very hard to cut up. Staff were all new and very polite.

A hidden Hunter Valley gem. The entire meal was 5 star but the Chicken Kaarage was next level good.

Fantastic gem in the Hunter Valley. Could not fault the food, wine and service. Highly recommend to anyone searching for an amazing place for that special occasion... or any night out!!! 🦐🍷🍽

Surprise lunch date and can't wait to return to sample some wines first.
Amazing food. We opted for the 5 course degustation and opted for the chef to choose our dishes, which was a bit like having our own @masterchef experience. Also gave us the experience of dishes I wouldn't usually pick. A lovely experience that I can't wait to share with my husband, you could also extend it to an overnight stay. Magic amongst the Hunter vines.

The menu online was different to the menu provided at the restaurant, which was disappointing because we went there for specific items on the menu. The chef said they didn't have the ingredients to cook what was posted online and the website had not been updated to reflect the latest menu. The food was ok... it wasn't spectacular. It was a bit salty as well. Although, I did love how they had cooked the Brussels sprouts, tasty! The servings were big and the price was reasonable.

My wife and I were contemplating doing a runner before even ordering our meals. We were a bit disappointed with our experience up to that point. The dining area felt like an airport cafe and the staff weren't unfriendly, but they weren't welcoming either. We have also never seen so many flies inside a restaurant. I was able to kill 2 with my bare hands before the meals arrived, AND the bathroom smelled as bad as a McDonald's toilet at a truckstop. BUT, after our meals arrived, our moods changed. The food was excellent, the most enjoyable we had eaten over the whole weekend. The prices are spot on for the quality of the food, but exorbitant for the atmosphere in the dining room.

We had the best lunch to date! Sat outside, tad noisy inside. Lovely service, the chief and staff have done a wonderful job. Thank you
M. L.
Had lunch here because we missed breakfast. Lunch menu is overpriced and the service was fairly slow. I had the chcicken gnocchi which was cold. The chicken was good but gnocchi was cold. Understand that we were early but could justify paying $36 dollars for this

Went here for dessert and got the: chocolate doughnut, nutella custard/mouse, crumble, aero, chocolate sorbet and strawberry jam; apple tart tatin, nulkaba house made vanilla bean ice cream and caramel.
The apple tart tatin was amazing, had lots of caramel sauce around it but came with a honey ice cream instead of vanilla bean icecream although it still suited it. The tart was excellent and had enough pastry to balance out the sweetness of the dessert, making a well rounded dessert.
The chocolate doughnut was burnt making it inedible (only reason this wasn't 5 star) , however the other elements of this dish were incredible. The different textures and flavour combinations were excellent, creating a incredible dish without the chocolate doughnut.
Highly recommend the desserts at Emerson's.

lovely spot, beautiful day overall amazing Australia day breakfast service.
Happy Australia day to all :)

Chicken was super tender, pork was juicy and the duck pate is the bomb!

Good service, coffee, good selection at breakfast reasonably priced
G. M.
Excellent food. Friendly service. Great wines.

Emerson's was recommended to us by a friend who grew up in the Hunter Valley, and we're so glad we made a booking. The food and service made up for the lack of views. We ordered the XL Garlic King prawns and the cauliflower dish, both were incredible dishes. We were warned about the prawns served in the shells, and I personally think they hold more flavour when they're cooked this way! The garlic butter sauce was a perfect compliment to the dish. The cauliflower dish was recommended to us by the waitress, was packed full lots of lovely flavours and textures, a must order! The staff were lovely, and made the dining experience very enjoyable.

Good beer, friendly , better than average food..
F. A.
It was an absolute delightful experience. We could not fault any of the dish that we ordered. I would definitely recommend the pork crackling that I ordered, as it guaranties a delight with its every bite. Hats off for the Chefs😊 We will definitely come back👍

Loved this place.
Food was top notch and friendly staff.
A. Y.
Amazing food and great service from the staff. Sat outside and the view is beautiful.
Y. A.
Great food, reasonable portions.
The service was great, everything we tasted was amazing. The only thing I didn't enjoy is the artwork on the walls but that's not important.
M.
The chef here sure knows what he is doing with flavours. Have been here a few times and the food always impresses us!

Dinner at Emerson’s was first class. It has a relaxed comfortable feel with friendly staff.
The food is amazing and dessert was so good.
What a great Experience. We spoke with Emerson and he told us a bit about the fresh produce he uses and you can tell how passionate he is about food and the hospitality industry.
Well done Emerson and we can’t wait to be back again soon.
K. R.
Tasy food, excellent coffee and wonderful view.
A. J.

A. G.
Awesome little gem, fantastic brunch!
L. H.
Delicious food, full of flavor. We are so happy we got to experience this place! Highly recommend having dinner here and def getting the cauliflower dish!
S. G.
Food tonight was exceptional. We had spring rolls, breads with accompanients, squid, roast pork, spiced roasted cauliflower, panna cotta and tatetanne. All were absolutely brilliant. I could not fault anything. My partner and I walked away feeling very satisfied and that next time will bring the whole family. Thanks Chef Emerson for a great experience
G. M.
Great food. Suprisingly better than the description on the menu which was awesome to start with. Great chef , great food. Highly recommended.
D. G.
We enjoyed an evening at the “chefs table” in the kitchen which came with the 8 course degustation menu. Meeting the chefs and owner while watching them prepare our delicious food made with high quality local ingredients. You can tell care goes into every dish.
It was a great experience for us foodies.

We had the best breakfast experience at this place. The staff were so friendly from the moment my wife, daughter and I walked in. The food was delicious. The coffee was awesome. This is coming from a person that loves his brekky and drinks coffee everyday.
The decor is nice. Clean and modern. Outdoor area with a nice view. 10/10 overall
It was our favourite place for breakfast at hunter valley/lovedale.
W. H.
great, generous food with great service. Their chicken karage and cauliflower dishes😋😋 . we also had the duck pate, the sirloin and the duck risotto ... just delicious!
C. R.
What an exceptional experience! This restaurant could not be faulted in any aspect. We were served by Jennifer, who was engaging, friendly and professional, a true gem! Our degustation itself was 10/10, each morsel a superb culinary experience of the highest standrard. The confit duck and the snapper were my favourite, cooked to absolute perfection. However we read in the previous reviews that the portion sizes were on the smaller side, this truly needs correcting- they were the largest degustation portions we've ever had. The chefs are a truly talented team and I cannot wait to visit again!
J. H.
What a scrumtous treat it was to have the de-gustation menu with matching wines! IThe menu was consistant with dish after dish of amazing food with little surprises of textures and taste. Marticulous in presentation and flow on of dishes. Evertyhing was perfect right down to the service, background music and wines. Great surroundings with a relaxing atomsphere. All food was well balanced and included all the vitamins one should have in a meal. Was definately worth the money! A very clever selection of food. I only wish I could cook like that and think of all those special things that made it all sooo good. It was great to also see local wineries in the region supported with the wines included in the meal. I hope to make it there again. I certainly came out feeling full and satisfied. A birthday celebration where special touches were thought of with a Happy Birthday written in chocolate with desert.

Food was absolutely great, and staff were very nice. The location is very convenient and close to the beach.

Brilliant ,great food lovely staff
A. N.
Great food with a great view, the service was fantastic and super friendly. All the food was fresh and presented well. They even had fresh wasabi to go with the tuna which was delicious. Will be going back
M. S.
Excellent mains and desserts. The lamb and the barramundi had a great pallete and the flavours gelled very well. Particularly the lamb rump was cooked to perfection. Trust me the chef knows what they are doing.
The lemon meringue had a huge lemon flavour but without the tart flavour dominated by so many. What sorcery they used to achieve this I can only wonder.
The cheese plate had an excellent selection of cheeses which was matched with the dried grapes and sliced green apple very well. The homemade lavosh was also great.
Finally the chocolate delice was reportedly so good that it would not be shared with me despite my repeated requests.
Of course the local pinot from Scarborough was a perfect addition.
Five stars if the coffee was better, although it's fine now and perfectly nice, just not amazing.
A. F.
Great food and great service. Can't praise them enough. We went for a long lunch friday for a hens - the food was fresh and delicious and the service was perfect too. We had a great time and would go again / recommend. Thank you 😊

We had a delicious breakfast at Emerson's. The staff were helpful.

We chose Emersons restaruant for my husband and sons birthday. Excellent decision. The staff were fantastic and most helpful, everything with the minimal of fuss. The food was utterly delicious. Our seating on the verandah was excellent as we could see the children (age 12 - 6 yrs) playing on the huge grassed area with out leaving the table. Can highly recommend Emersons for any function. Congratulations to the Restaurant and staff for your excellent service.
L. P.
Nice and relaxed. The chorizo in the baked beans had not been thoroughly warmed through. We sat outside and despite the heaters being on, felt it a little chilli on a September morning
J. M. J.
Nice view, but it need to put more effort on service!

The potato gnocchi from the Chicken Ballotine dish melts in your mouth. It is ever so creamy and an absolute breathtaking moment. As I placed the first bite in my mouth, my eyes widened. One word, delicious!
N. S.
Fantastic food and friendly service. We came here for dinner and brunch as we were staying at the vineyard. Both meals were delicious.
A. M.
Ok. This restaurant was highly rated but was left underwhelmed. Nothing bad but lacked Polish in terms of atmosphere, food and service.
G. T.
I love having breakfast here, December, outside on their terrace. Beautiful food with beautiful scenery. Just awesome. Great service too!

The degustation menu is nothing short of superb. Service is excellent. 8 courses of the very best Hunter Valley has to offer. Thanks - we'll be back.
