We tried their speciality, however it turned out to be just ok. You can fill your tummy, not your soul. Though its a healthy option. The service was pretty basic with few misses here and there. Otherwise its good to have something rather than nothing!

Long-time institution in the Smiths Lake / Pacific Palms area - it’s been here for over 30 years. Perfectly situated right on the water’s edge it offers a range of meals and snacks in addition to the eponymous coffee. During holiday periods it provides boat rentals. Plenty of room on the adjoining reserve for kids to play.

This place was legendary in the 90s, it was fam friendly, there were froth height competitions, and the whole place had a buzz. We have been back with the next generation a few times over the last 3 years, and while the food is decent and the right table gives you a pretty great view, the coffee is really just adequate, service is a bit forced at best, the cafe operares 10-2 (not really aligned to the coffee ritual), last trip it was closed when we visited "due to rain" with no customer notices, social media and real life are quite out of sync, and even mid Dec the vibe was a bit flat. Its a bit of a ritual for us to go here, and the location is a huge draw card... so we will probably still visit every trip, but probably just once, if time permits, when we feep like waiting until 10.30am for a coffee..

Could be much better without too much effort. Weak coffee should be a first fix. Had the Poached eggs on smashed avo, what a disappointment, eggs underdone as the whites hadn't set, avo was some king of blended watered down paste, flavorless. Unfortunately lack of competition will make it like this.

Have been several times but have only ever had coffee here. It’s a beautiful location. The view across the lake is special. I would be a bit skeptical about ordering food though as the place looks like it would get overwhelmed pretty easily. If it is crowded, I wouldn’t want to be in a hurry. That said, i have only ever had good experiences here.

A very pleasant view on the veranda. It was full when we arrived, but emptied quickly. As most had been served. Ive only given 3 stars because service was very slow. We waited 45min for our egg and bacon rolls, drinks. In that time only two small tables served. I must admit i was pleasantly surprised at the great roll. Yolk runny they way i liked it and the bacan perfect. The roll itself was lovely. Not too thick. Drinks also great. So only fault is length of wait for food.

Pretty spot. Had to take away because we had our dog with us and only one dog table is available outside. Double shot coffee tasted like hot milk, but BLT was tasty. My husband wanted a cheese toastie but they said they couldn't do it, though everything is made to order?? In short, the location is lovely if you're in the area but don't go out of your way to find it. We were staying 5 mins away for a week, but didn't go back.

Their food is nice when the owner makes it though when they had a chef at one stage their food was having problems and he was booted out for the better. Great little spot on Smiths Lake. It was very peaceful. Old school food with big breakfasts, eggs Benedict etc but it was good, no great actually. Coffee was just ok, maybe because they were short staffed and the barista had quite few things on his plate but it wasn’t good.

Lovely hot chocolate and good coffee. Light snacks, especially cakes, are delicious. We were served a magnificient breakfast of Eggs Benedictine and Bacon & Eggs with sour dough bread. Highly recommended. However it can be a bit cool in cold weather. Service is top rate.

I went here on my way back to Sydney, the staff is friendly and the location is beautiful. The food is good and fresh. A bit of an unfortunate case that I was on a time schedule and it took a very long time (45 minutes) to get my order which consisted in a portion of chips. A bit ridiculous for my personal habits but I would definitely go back if I didn't have time constraints.

Came here for breakfast today and we ordered around 9-9:15 and we got our tea within 10min but it took forever for our food to arrive. It was reasonably busy but nothing to much I would imagine for a prime location in holiday season. We spotted our eggs Benedict before the waiters it seemed as they sat on the bench. The waiters seemed in no hurry. We got our meal to find rather cold. Warm enough to eat but I have to wonder how long it was sitting there. I would like to think if a place has lots of seats it can serve all the people in those seats. Regardless lovely location and staff, apart from the slow waiters, seem nice enough. Just need to work on being quicker in the kitchen and serve multiple tables at a time.

An absolute gem of a place! We were tourists to the area for a weekend for my partner and I’s anniversary. Beautiful views of Smiths Lake on the deck area of the cafe. You peer over and see all of the fish swimming next to you. Cafe staff were also really bubbly and accommodating. 5/5

Late lunch on a Saturday. This is a casual place with limited menu. That said, the food was excellent. Chimmichuri chicken burger was very good, loved the cucumber addition. Chips were well cooked, crispy outside and soft inside. The daily special was a chicken avocado on turkish bread with some other veg thrown in for good measure. Very nice, great combination of flavour. Iced coffee was strong, just like we like it. I gave in to temptation and had a chocolate thickshake. Lovely. The view is great, sitting on the water watching the pelicans. Service was good, lots of smiles, quick to clear the table. Food came in good time. Overall a wonderful, relaxing lunch in a beautiful spot.
