Gordon’s cafe really nails a great vibe. The coffee is excellent, the staff are attentive and friendly, the music is enjoyable, and the food is impressive too. I enjoyed their fish and prawn pie last time I visited, but this time we tried their Bircher Muesli for breakfast which was delicious and very generous.

I enjoyed a refreshing brunch with a friend and ordered a green juice (with green apple, cucumber, ginger and celery), turmeric latte (sugar free) and shared a plate of corn fritters (accompanied by avocado, cherry tomato and poached egg). The green juice was clean light and refreshing, just what I needed first up as I was thirsty having practised a gentle flowing tai chi workout beforehand. The corn fritters were the highlight. They were soft succulent and lightly seasoned and I ate them topped with slices of avocado, cherry tomato and dipped in a lightly spiced salsa Verde. The turmeric latte was like my healthy 'desert'. A warm comforting drink to wash down the meal on a damp Monday morning. Seating wise we (my flatmate and I) were offered a variety of good options by the friendly service staff. We chose to eat in the naturally lit front area by the floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the coffee station and kitchen. Other seating options were a cosy indoor area with conventional tables and chairs and an outdoor area by the footpath. Overall the food was well prepared, the menu was healthy and interesting, the service staff were both enthusiastic and knowledgeable (they gave us well thought suggestions to our questions on which dishes to order) and the venue was spacious with plenty of seating options. I look forward to visiting again and trying the other items on their menu.

A stones throw away from Clovelly beach and Gordons Bay, this Eastern suburbs café is a gem offering an excellent range of oustanding food and drinks in a relaxing setting. I've been here numerous times, but my most recent time was a breakfast visit so I had the Quinoa Superfood Porridge, Green Juice, Chai, and one of the many excellent pastries on offer. Everything was fresh, incredibly delicious, and value for money. Filled with natural light, Gordons has a super warm and welcoming vibe - from the smiles of the helpful staff, to the laughter and friendly chatter of the locals and regulars, and the wagging tails of a few legendary dogs outside chilling with their owners. Mix in the excellent quality of food and beverages on offer here and its an obvious 5 star experience.

Gordons Cafe is my local and I love it. Great service and excellent food. I often bring my friends or my mum when she’s in town. With beautiful, natural light streaming in I love the window seats best. A relaxed vibe and the healthiest menu to choose from. I am remembering a fish pie and a linguini with prawns from other lunches but today it was the corn cakes for brekky.

I love this little cafe, super cute, food is great, away from the bustle of Coogee. I loved ordering from here during the lockdowns (sooo many wraps 😂) and took an opportunity to dine in and fully enjoy myself. 😋 It's on a corner so it feels free and spacious. I find cafes that are in a line up of other stores a bit claustrophobic. I went there on Monday and loved the attractive, playful staff and vitality, including the tunes. It has a real "locals" feel which I enjoy. I like hearing staff and patrons being referred to by their first names. People feel like people here instead of numbers in a queue. 🌲 I had the Moroccan chicken which was deliciously satisfying. Tidy, clean and love the ocean breeze. I sat inside and there were lovely spots to sit outside too. Coffee was epic ☕

Love this quaint cafe. Great for breakfast after a walk on the beach. Staff are so polite and friendly it gives the place a great local vibe. The food is delicious, healthy and great vegan options. If you want to enjoy the sun, the seating outdoor arrangement is a great idea.

What a hidden gem! Was impressed by the extensive menu with some unique offerings. Beetroot chili chai (very subtle but delicious!), pecorinco truffle leek scrambeled eggs.. Yum. The staff were so friendly and seeing so many locals walk in and chat to the staff was so wholesome. Cass was especially a great server ! Can't wait to come back and try the lunch menu.

Recently had lunch here and really enjoyed the grilled ocean trout (see photo). My fiancé also loved her Pecorino scrambled eggs which the cafe is famous for! Cool atmosphere, great to sit outside (on a nice day) or in the upper or lower indoor dining room, and a wide variety of options on the menu! You will never leave this place hungry as the portions are huge!! Great quality cafe food at a reasonable price and the staff were really attentive. Will be back again for sure!

On the pricy side and the waiter had to come back twice after we ordered for checking our orders to check things as he didn’t note them down and took the orders by memory. He got the food orders right in the end when they came to the table but got my friends coffee order wrong. He offered to take it back but she’d waited long enough so just kept the one he delivered and made sure she wasn’t charged for the larger one she ordered.

We enjoyed a really nice breakfast at Gordons. My partner had the Gordons stack and I had the fritters with smoked salmon, both very tasty and the stack was very generous especially with the halloumi :) Coffee was great and the chai latte was brewed perfectly. Will definitely return!

Managed to grab a seat outside, this was a busy place to visit for a coffee and brunch, the staff were friendly though forgot a few of our items that we ordered !! After reminding they still didn’t arrive so we had to go in to the counter and ask, at least there was an apology :) The food options were healthy and the servings were a reasonable size.

I love Gordons! Dana and Jacob are truely awesome, such genuine people and so hard working. During covid I spent pretty much everyday there for my coffee and read with my pup, it made my daily outings so much more exciting. Not to mention gyms were shut and Jacob was so generous enough to train me down at the park. They are such kind people. It's in a prime location and the coffee is absolutely THE BEST! Cass is fantastic waitress, always up for a chat and so friendly. Couldn't recommend enough and the food is delic!

Good food but a real shame as the staff have so much attitude. After an initially poor experience we gave it the benefit of the doubt and went back a few months later. Stood and waited to be seated. 10 minutes later, the staff walked by and ignored us, not even acknowledging we were waiting to be seated, so we walked up the road to Tophat and had a delicious brekkie instead. What a shame!

My favourite breakfast cafe at the moment out of both Clovelly and Coogee! I've had the scrambled eggs on toast, muesli and sweetcorn fritters and all have been spectacular. The place itself is nicely decorated and feels nice and bright. The staff are always really friendly and attentive. But the stand out for me is the food, cant recommend enough!

Me and my family went to Gordon's about one week ago. We have been received very warmly by the staff. They suggested us very excellent food and wine. We enjoyed ourselves and we made our compliments to the chef and to the manager. We suggest this place that is a higher level than other cafes

Have been to this cafe once for breakfast and once for lunch, the service from the wait staff was great the first time however the second time we had to get someones attention after sitting down for some menus. The food has been great both times, decent portions, really nice flavours. Lamb salad was a favourite of ours along with the truffle scrambled eggs.

It's been a while since I've been truly wowed by a breaky out in Sydney but our whole group of 8 loved our time at Gordons' yesterday. Amazing food, beautifully presented, great coffee and bloody mary's (we were celebrating a bday!) and the staff we just legends and even brought out one of their delish muffins as an impromptu birthday cake. I'd highly highly recommend!!

Love Gordon's Cafe!! This is a great little cafe in Clovelly that serves great breakfasts and coffee. Great for after a day at the beach. The lunch menu is also pretty good and the staff are always super friendly and accommodating.

It seemed like a friendly, chilled atmosphere which I really enjoy. However this resulted in extremely poor customer service, we were waiting over 30 minutes for our food and another 10 minutes to pay with no apology in sight. The food was delicious and the price reasonable but we will be VERY slow to go back over how long we were waiting and how unapologetic the staff were!!

We went for brunch on a Sunday and it was just ok for several reasons: the service was excruciatingly slow (took about 1h to get our order even though the place wasn't full), flat white was just average and my long black was below average (tasted far too bitter), the overpriced green smoothie ($11) tasted like overripe banana, had a watery consistency and chunks of kale that stuck to the teeth. I'm not sure I'd go back since there are many other excellent cafes around Clovelly with more character than Gordons. Positive points were the friendly staff and freshly made food (when we finally got it).

Great location, nice atmosphere and staff, but unfortunately the coffee is not consistent. One day it can be pretty good (but never great) and the next you can be served dish water. When coffee is between $4 and $5 a cup, that's not good enough for me. I have been testing it out because it's close to home but will have to move on.
