good place, nice staff, great room size for doing crazy thing😅
its easy to use the touch screen machine, and we also can order food/drink from the tablet on the room!!! SUPERRRR EASY
they even give us mic cover for covid safe! amazing place!!!! i will come back sooon with my friends
g. t.
Very good food and the prices are also decent. There is a wide variety of dishes from sushi to rice bowls. The karaoke rooms are big and spacious, the bathrooms are also clean. I would come back here again for Japanese food and also recommend others to do so.
C. S.
I've booked Karaoke here on 2 occasions for work and had great experiences both times. The food at the restaurant was also delicious.
The only suggestion I would make is that they consider doing split bills in future as it becomes really challenging to keep track of everyone's purchases and pay for them all on one person's card.
J. T.
Great food and atmosphere. Really enjoyed dining here.
My only criticism would be that when there are a lot of people trying to get into the restaurant that it's awkward based on the check in area being right in front of the elevator that gets you there.
Really friendly staff and great service.
R. R.
We came for dinner, but they also have a lot of karaoke rooms too. The food was good as you can see by the pictures. A good mid range Japanese option.
V. C.
Been here a few times and the food is average but inexpensive and the atmosphere is good. I like the booths which make you feel separated from other customers. Interaction with waiters are rare as they use a computer ordering system which is quite convenient. The karaoke rooms looks well maintained and lively.
E. G.
Great fast service! The electronic screen is very easy to use and the flavours are really great. The food comes out very fast and freshly made with great seasoning and textures. The ambiance is great and the karaoke rooms look very nice

I left the room leaving behind 2 disposable cameras, and only remembered I left it a couple of hours later. I went back and asked if they had a lost and found was advised all items left behind in a room are thrown out except a phone/wallet or any other personal belongings. I asked if I could go through the bins myself to search for the cameras since it was a very special occasion. They went through the trash themselves, and retrieved BOTH cameras for me in a matter of minutes. Very grateful for the service, and for the kind receptionist and manager. These photos are evermore special!

Second dinner for the night at @kobewagyubbq was such a fun experience. Can’t go wrong with Japaneseeeee !!! Ordered an à la carte from the varieties off menu. The good thing is you don’t need to chase waitstaff for their precious attention 🤣, just order off the the monitor and food comes fairly quick. We ordered Salmon Avocado Roll 🥑🍣, Eel Rice 🍛, Pork dumpling 🥟, Takoyaki (My favourite), Chocolate Lava Cake with Matcha Ice cream 🍵 and of course Sake 🍶

Love this place! I usually go to the restaurant area, It has a nice feel. The food is cheap and the service is excellent, definitely worth a try.
The portion sizes are a little small so you most likely have to order a few items to get full, however I would recommend this place to go for lunch, see friends or to have a few drinks.
They also have a happy hour on karaoke which is really affordable and something fun to try.
C. K.
It was the easiest place to have fun and relax.
Allow me to expand.
Their booking and reservation process was easy and they are friendly upon following you up.
They have their menu in the karaoke rooms for you to order and be notified how many minutes are left on your time and can even opt to extend. How convenient is that! The staff upon welcoming, serving, and saying good bye are just so warm and welcoming. Plus factor that they have the latest hits available, too! And many Filipino songs! One of the easiest 5 stars in my experience! I’d come back here again.
S. S.
This is 100% the best karaoke place in Sydney. So many song choices, had all the latest hits and the oldies. The only thing I would say that was a downside is that whoever books the room, all the drinks and and food will be billed to your card which can make it difficult when trying to split with your friends/family. Staff could have been a little nicer though. But overall, the actual karaoke was really fun and is the best one I’ve been to in Sydney minus those few minor things.
C. K.
The food was good, but not as good as the one in Brisbane. I think it’s owned by Chinese not Japanese? The waiter and waitresses were Chinese so I don’t think the chefs are Japanese. So the food is not as authentic and prepared as well. Because the beef and fish tataki I had was not as fresh and the fish actually smelt bad.
The hot pot was standard and pizza was good!
We got curry beef hot pot and potato pizza.
Also I think they specialise in ktv , there was only few people Eating.
S. S.
Stumbled across this place on our way to another karaoke bar and thankfully so. Staff were fun and attentive, great music selection, rooms were decent.
F. T.
3 star for terrible booking management. Made an online booking, got a call but missed for confirmation. Returned the call to confirm less than an hour later, but Staff mentioned no more room available.
TLDR: call to make a booking. Their online booking is not trustworthy
J. H. C.
Fast service. A touch screen menu to order from. Good meal. Eel was creamy and juicy. Desert with the miso caramel was slightly disappointing with the caramel overpowering, can't taste the miso, but the addition of peanuts brittles was good. Wish they would use some proper cutlery instead of the plastic spoon. Didn't try the karaoke. Will come again.
A. N.
The lovely setting of Lantern by Wagaya feels very authentic with the intimate traditional seating and overhead lantern decorations. It offers a great lunch deal combination with free karaoke with spends over $20 and the booths are great. It surprisingly has a vast menu with a lot of different choices for both lunch and dinner.
🍽 DISHES SAMPLED
⭕️ SEARED SALMON CREAM CHEESE ROLL |
A must try item if you're craving sushi and stopping by Lantern by Wagaya. The cream cheese is so tasty and melts alongside the seared salmon. it is definitely one of the best salmon sushi rolls I've ever tried.
⭕️ TAKOYAKI, TEMPURA & DUMPLINGS |
The takoyaki and tempura were good, but not great. They tasted like pretty standard sushi train type dishes found at your typical casual japanese dining places. The dumplings definitely tasted homemade, fresh and was very savoury.
⭕️ LANTERN STRAWBERRY MOJITO |
The taste of alcohol is stronger than expected in this mojito, but I can really see how it's a special drink concoction of Lantern by Wagaya. It's one of the better mojitos I've tried and a hidden gem I didn't expect to be impressed by after dining here.

Great selection of authentic and Japanese inspired izakaya food. Service was quick and efficient and the food was reasonably priced.
C. C.
Great place for catching up with friends, a few drinks and snacks are always good. Service is quick and the atmosphere is nice. Love the grilled dishes especially ox tongue!
L. D.
Mixed feelings about this place, Karaoke here is the priority first and foremost. Anyone going here to eat or drink at the back bar area needs to have their head checked. Prices are insanely inflated, service is terrible and food is mediocre at best. Negatives out of the way, the Kareoke is top and if you do buy the jugs of alcohol (although a bit watered down for my liking) pricing is really reasonable. A special mention for the lady at the front entrance, I've been here a few times over the last month or two and she's always been an absolutely professional (even when COVID restrictions denied the ability to actually use microphones) and ensured guests are looked after.
A. W.
Very updated song list and friendly staffs, good food too, prefer book a room before you go on Friday night
J. X.
Cheap karaoke place with yummy foods 🎤
Friendly service.
So much fun 😁
A. H.
Decent price meals. However, I prefer the lunch karaoke room menu much more than dinner.
h. S.
Clean facility and toilets aswell. Prices sas reasonable for 3 hours of karaoke which was $15. Got some yummy shots but they had pretty all popular spirits and cocktails.
N. T.
Fresh, tasty and well presented. Lunch menu slightly limited however very filling. Server friendly. The novel self-ordering system is fun and clear. Funny listening to the bad karaoke in the background.
V. D.
It's a good price for karaoke, staff come across pretty rude at time though.
H. R.
Good choice of latest songs and a wide variety to choose from on a decent rate.
Food was also really good.
S.
Dined at the restaurant previously, and the food was alright. Visited for karaoke a few times. Good price and lots of rooms available, I would recommend to give them a call to book a room before going. Good variety of songs and drinks. The toilets could be cleaner.
S. L.
Cosy karoake place. Good choice of English songs. We had 6 people, free karoake since we spent over $300 during the night.
z. x.
I'm a regular customer who goes to this place almost every weekend with my friends. The staffs there were super friendly and helpful. The food were great, very reasonable price and the rooms were clean. I would recommend all my friends and families to go there for eating , drinking and karaoke. Definitely a 10/10 place to go. Finally I would love to thank the manager, Amy who always looking after me every time for my visit.
k. g.
plenty of space in the karaoke rooms.
clean environment.
fast service when ordering food.
good selection of food, alcoholic drinks and non alcoholic drinks.
H. M.
Went here a week ago, the experience was good and defo will come back.
Although the space could be wider especially for a big group. The foods were really amazing, they’re all tasty and would defo try the restaurant next time.
My group ordered a lot of shots but they tasted watered booze and that made us order for more which cost us a lot, obviously. But overall experience was amusing. Everyone had a good time.
L.
Little bit hard to fund this place as the signage wasn't clear for newcomers. It's the lifts to the left further inside the building. The rooms were very clean and food came to us quickly. Plenty of songs to choose from in a number of languages too. Rooms were about $7 per person per hour during a weekday and we started before 6pm. Food and drink is where they make up their margins (as expected).
O. X.
Regular to this restaurant/karaoke place. Staff are always helpful and food portions are plentiful and taste great. We host a lot of business lunches and private parties here. Drinks are served in a timely manner and the general atmosphere is great. It's a shame they close earlier than other Karaoke places
F. L.
A bit hard to find the first time. I've been here on several occasions. Karaoke and food is good and fun. The standard of the food is good to high quality for the price. I've never been disappointed. They have a separate dining space with a decent view of George st. I like the decor and ambience. Sometimes a door to a karaoke room and you'll hear some terrible singing and questionable song choice but people are having fun and might even make you smile.
L. A. C.
The karoke quality is just ok the room so small. For price, Its cheap just $7/pp/hour, the food is just ok.
Didn't feel much fun so we move to another place that we already try before.
A. L.
I LOVE WAGAYA!
FABULOUS FOOD AND GREAT SERVICES! Almost every weekend come here for food, drink or karaoke . The staff are so great . They are so fast to clear your table of clutter and just as fast to bring in your orders. This is the best venue, I highly recommend it! Lots of sweet memories here 💕
C. Q.
Great place for Karaoke and food! Good customer service as well. Ox tongue, wagyu hotpot, and eel bento is a must try 👍🏻

Food was delicious and great value! Service was fast too, would definitely come back 😁

R. C.
Good selection of food and songs. Let down by the revolting toilets that need seriously refurbishing. Public toilets are cleaner and more hygenic than theirs.
D. D.
Food is OK not great but OK Good tho I wish they would allow split bill or away to have orders on separate accounts as went with a mix of people and bill at the end was a miss trying to work out who ordered what
C.
Good price for the quality of food. Enjoyed the Ox Tongue and Wagyu Skewers much more than expected, was for sure the highlight of the night. Very popular for karaoke too
J. Y.
The standard room for 3~5 people is compact but quite clean (at least the one we got). Restrooms are relatively clean which is a big plus as I've been to unspeakable ones that are just plain gross. Food is OK and served fairly fast after ordering. Would come again for the happy hours aa it's value for money IMHO.
E. R.
really good. had lots of songs and good customer service
J. L.
We only went here for karaoke and had drinks, so can't speak for the food. Microphone batteries kept dying, song choices were okay, but didn't have alot of songs that other places have. Also the cocktails had far too much ice and were not that great. Otherwise it was an okay experience.
S.
For the karaoke, we went there as a group of 6 and they gave us a room that was fairly cramped for the number of people we have. The room was clean and there was a selection of songs available. However, there were a number of songs and artists missing. When we asked for an extra microphone as we had 6 people and little time, but we were refused one and was told that they don’t provide extras. This was different to the first time coming as there were three mics in the room we were in.
Overall their service is ok and I may consider coming again as it is a fairly decent price of $6 pp.

When this first opened there was a hype and also a direct competitor across the road.
The OG Wagaya was a lot nicer in my honest opinion, it was more authentic. Lantern has a lesser variety in food options but offers the karaoke aspect.
Can see how this is a hype for youngens as there aren't many of these joints around anymore.
Food has periodically gone downhill also. There are a lot more options foodwise in the general area.
S. H.
Delicious food, excellent service and great prices 👌🥰
L. D.
I'm only speaking about karaoke. The rooms are tiny! However you can order drinks and food via screen in your room and they will be delivered to your room in a very timely manner, which cuts out the need to queue at a bar. Choosing songs is also very easy and they had a variety of modern and classic karaoke songs. The staff are efficient and very friendly. Apart from the tiny rooms, it's a very welcoming place.
A. G.
The place is quite small especially for a group more than 4 people. For the price, the food is quite good and tasty. Not amazing but it's good for the price. Service is ok but they can be quite slow at times.
Since it's also a karaoke place, the place can be very noisy especially when someone is singing their hearts out
T. K. B.
Loads of fun with drunk friends, fueled by drinks being ordered off the wall and brought to the room at a hefty price. They have good food too.
T. K.
Decent food, there are better options for Japanese - but the atmosphere of the space is great and they also have Karaoke~
R. L.
Had 3 hours karaoke a few weeks ago. The songs were surprisingly up-to-date compared to some other KTVs. The sound effects options were limited tho, even hard to adjust music and mic volumes seperatedly. Price is basically the same. In general was a good experience.
J. O.
The food at Wagaya has always been above average so Lantern is no different. Extra points for the fantastic $6/h/person happy hour rate (any time before 7p.m.), efficient service, and clean rooms. Four stars and not five because of the rather limited selection of English artistes. No Cold Chisel? Come on! But it's still one of the better establishments especially now that Mizuya's gone.
J. L.
A nice place for karaoke and Japanese food together inside the k - room. Love the touch screen ordering system and the speedy services! The only problem is you can't have a peaceful meal here without listening to all other people's 'live concerts' if you are at the dining area!
B. S.
Amazing food, with great karaoke rooms
A bit weird with security at the front elevators and door, which is quite unpleasant and a bit of a turn-off for the location.
But once inside it has beautiful decor and a wide range of food choices, which are chosen through a machine at your table.
J. N.
Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. Food and service was average.
R. W.
Great song selection - it's pretty updated! Service is nice and all the staff are friendly and don't judge our singing
R. D.
It’s such a shame that the original Wagaya branch closed down but this is the next best place for Izakaya style food.
Not really into karaoke? Don’t worry they have a separate dining section for regular diners.
Order via a touchscreen menu.
A. H.
Compared to the other karaoke places in town this place is not too bad. Just remember to ask for your deposit to be returned to you after you finish, because they won't remind you about it (I learned the hard way)!!
G. H.
Had a great and enjoyable time with the Karaoke, the song selection is amazing and the food was good. Drinks were decent, but it's just trying them out and finding something you like or don't like.
N. K.
The list of songs could be updated but maybe I am too old. The staff were excellent, enthusiastic even. It was clean, and once the microphones were fixed, we punished them with our singing.
S. J.
Lantern by Wagaya is one of my personal favourites and i used to visit here before Wagaya took it over. The view is gorgeous the staff are always friendly and the occasional sound of crazy karaoke singers is hilarious as background atmosphere. I've been here over 50 times and despite being a little on the pricey side its still a great place to meet up with friends and international guests.
M. T.
Incredible food with very fast service. Plenty of variety in the drinks menu, offering plenty of choices for lovers of Sake, Whiskey, Beer, etc.
L. L.
Always a great place for cheap karaoke! Has drinks and food to order from the rooms and a fun atmosphere
M. T.
Delicious sushi and huge cocktail menu. Lots of fun having our own karaoke boothe where we could order from the ipad on the wall. Highly recommend!
A. P.
Pricey but no more than the rest of the area. Food is excellent. Wontons and incredible! Silky and packed with flavour. Peking duck is brilliant. Crispy skin and all. Only let down is the one server. She is always flustered, slow and forgetful of orders.
P. P.
Good karaoke prices and drinks
E. S.
Best place for lunch special karaoke deal. We often come here for a date and can sing whatever we want. Cozy space. $20 for food and get karaoke for 2 hours!
K. H. (.
Fun karaoke with a workable system. Way better than Mizuya. Price is reasonable and the service was good, initially we got a room with broken air conditioning and they switched us without being asked. We had a great time
J. O.
Pretty decent Karaoke. Food and drinks were priced well and rooms were nice. However, their song list is quite lacking and the interface they have is hard to use.
T. Y.
Great karaoke
P. L.
Came here only for dinner (no karaoke). The service here was adequate as everything is done electronically so you don't get much interaction from the waiters/waitresses unless needed. Food came in a timely manner however we felt as the quality was only alright. the wagyu beef was much smaller in quantity than the image suggests and was slightly tougher than how i usually like it and was not a fan of the takoyaki at all especially the cheese they used to coat (definitely not used to having it that way). I have been told it's been better before so maybe caught it on a bad day.
H. F.
I can simply give this place a 5 star rating but my recent experience with two of their staffs was unacceptable. I don't remember their names but they should learn on how to communicate properly with the customers, regardless of their sexual orientation or how they were look like. We paid for an excellent service from you but what we got was a rude and unpleasent face from your staff and security worker. Fix their attitude.
T. N.
I went on a Friday night and there were still tables available. Dim lighting so it sets a more fancy dining atmosphere for really cheap prices! Vegetarian options are good and service is fast. You can count on Wagaya for a cheap and good feed.
d. l.
Great, cheap karaoke bar with plenty of rooms in many sizes. The music is constantly updated which is one of the reasons I keep comming back. Bathrooms could be cleaned more regularly.
A. T.
Great food, decent karaoke setup just a bit on the pricey side but worth with the right company
E. R.
Went here with a group of six. Large selection of songs to sing. Also appreciated being able to order drinks from a screen in the room and having them brought into us. This made for extra time for singing! We only booked half an hour before arriving and they had space for us.
S.
Came here last week and it's a fantastic Japanese karaoke bar. I love the food and atmosphere. They have a great range of karaoke tracks. Would love to come back.
K. H.
Unlike many other KTV/karaoke/noraebang places in the city, most of the songs at Lantern By Wagaya come with the original music videos. The rooms are clean and the floors non-sticky. Got a bit confused finding the place (went up the wrong set of lifts. Note: it's the ones on the left up the slight ramp fron the George Street entrance), but was awesome once we got up there.
D.
Although the staff weren't all very well trained and service is bearable. Most of the food I've had here has been really great. They also serve various types of alcohol and the place offers a little bit of privacy between your table and the table behind or in front of you with dividers. I definitely recommend this place for the food.
H. N.
I wasn't impressed the first time I came here for karaoke. The sound and mic system is not amazing and the touch screen system doesn't impress anyone who's seen plenty in Singapore. I didn't know then, however, of the restaurant hidden inside overlooking the ever-busy George street while being perfectly soundproof. Each table is a quiet, private corner, giving the perfect view and ambience for catch-up and winding down from the busy city life. Service response to touch screen requests is surprisingly fast and efficient, which makes up for the staff's limited English. Food is of good quality and decent variety for a Japanese place (if there is chawanmushi, the menu will be perfect). Will visit again for a meal.
M. W.
I have loved coming to Lantern since I've been at uni. Theres grest karaoke plus lunch combo deals and the food is always fresh and very tasty. This place also has a dine in restaurant if you dont feel like singing. There is a wide variety of dishes. Love thst theres little private booths. Good selection of songs in the karaoke and the songs are very up to date.
C. C.
Their lunch menu is great but I personally dont like their dinner menu as they do t have bento boxes. They have cool karaoke rooms as well.
m. j.
Fantastic food and service , with karaoke facility . Compared to rest of KTV in Sydney CND , wagaya Larsen definitely the most honest KTV amongst the competitors . The food is yum . Don’t forget to try ! Highly recommend.
O. T.
Lantern is another Japanese Restaurant that doubles as karaoke place. Similar to the more well known Mizuya, you can choose to karaoke while dining in one of their karaoke rooms (minimum charges apply) or just dine in the restaurant section. Ordering food here is done through tablets, which I always like, since it allows you to order food slowly as you eat or at once if you prefer it that way.
The vegetarian hotpot is really good value at $10. I also enjoyed the rolled sushis, however, I don’t think the sashimi here is the freshest. Service is friendly and if you’re lucky you might get one of the window seats which have a pretty good view of the city streets. The atmosphere can be rowdy if there are a lot of young students around but overall it’s quite nicely decorated and with mood lighting.

Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Atmosphere: 4/5
Value: 4/5
Visit again: Yes
Try these: Vegetarian hotpot

If you want to eat and sing this is the place. I reckon this is better than Mizuya in regards to the food menu.
The dishes come pretty soon. However it can be pricey on weekends where they impose a minimum spend on the food or else they charge you for the room.
M. A.
Food is great although the range is significantly smaller since they have relocated from their old location. NOTE: There is a surcharge for card payments.
H. T.
A Karaoke Restaurant run by the same guys who own Wagaya at Haymarket near Chinatown. If you have a large group for Karaoke, it'd be a good idea to book ahead. I prefer the food here compared to Mizuya on the opposite side of George Street. The cocktails are pretty good too!
J. C.
You can enjoy food and karoke at the same time, snacks taste better then main meal. Good value for lunch and happy hour session.
K. J.
Decent food. A different experience in ordering through a screen.
S. H. (.
Very good prices with a nice and calm atmosphere, but the staff really need to improve their communicational skills... Just because some of the staff are a bit rude.
N. H.
Extremely expensive, and the karaoke machines are very difficult to use and dont have a lot of songs.
J. H.
Cheap karaoke rooms on a weekday at $6/hour. The sushi also tasted great. A special call out to the salmon sushi with cream cheese.
J. W.
Great variety of delcious food. The portions are very generous for value. I usually get a meat based dish, a seaweed salad on the side and a few side dishes like edamame and never leave hungry. Their karaage chicken is tender and juicy
h. s.
honestly one of the best japanese dining places in sydney! atmosphere is excellent and the place is just beautiful. food price is way affordable and super delicious. easy to use tablet menu and food doesnt take long to come. never had a bad experience there, always amazing and will come by for more as always!
d. s.
Super surprised by the quality of the food. When we walked in it was dark and looked dodgy till I realised the rooms where for karaoke. Food was great for the price only shame was I had to go back to work in a food coma.
R. I.
Not bad of a restaurant. The food is pretty much the same quality as the original Wagaya.
We ordered pork cutlet on a stick, and assumed it would've come with Japanese mayonnaise, or wasabi, but it didn't. We asked them for it, and they said "What's that?".
They're run by Chinese seems like. Run by Chinese, and a bit pricey.
S. G.
Food and service is fast, and decent. Wknds have minimum spend, however works out well if you have a group. The song list is decent, and have similar number of english songs in comparison to other K places. The quality of the sound system is ok, not the best. This place can be hard to find if you have never been here before too!
M. T.
High quality and Fresh produce, obviously created by a time which takes pride in its work. Also experienced very attentive service in the private dining room. Would go back.
J. L.
Great service, this place doubles up as a karaoke. The service is maybe a bit slower than other karaoke/restaurants but the food is definitely worth it. Check out the fried salmon skin and fried camembert, definitely.
n. l.
Hidden within the CBD a great place to have lunch, dinner, or just to go crazy and do some karaoke! Has a great ambience, calm, wood like textured walls all very peaceful to anyone that comes in, the food is really nice but sometimes in the smaller portions but nonetheless the taste of it is amazing!
D. F.
Order $220 to get a 3 hours free time. Nice place
M. B.
Such a great place, food tasted amazing, food service was great also, it was super fast, it took only 48 seconds to get a beer.
We will be back

Great restaurant. Nice and quiet atmosphere. Great food. Ease of ordering via menu screen at the table. Food came out very promptly. Friendly staff.
S. L.
This is a great place to have buffet like sushi. Great interactive place with touch screens for kids to play around and it also has big banquet rooms. It also consists of karaoke rooms where you can sing and eat in it.
l.
Didn't go to Lantern, was just on their website to check out the pricing for food and karaoke, where I found out it would be too expensive for our group to go.
T. C.
Great experience. Food comes quickly. Rooms are appropriate. I don't think the staff are Japanese - Most of the staff were impolite and the bar area and bathrooms were unclean
J.
Had my birthday here and they were really nice. The food was served real fast but the only downfall was that the Karaoke rooms didn't have remote controls.
A. L.
Great hang out spot. I have only been comung back to the restaurant frequently.
Booking recommended!
P. H.
Decent karaoke, half decent food and weak drinks. However the service was very good and we still had a good time
B. d. G.
best karaoke place in Sydney! Great and fast service! Food is pretty decent and prices are group-friendly
A. D.
Same karaoke system as Mizuya and basically everywhere else in Sydney these days. Rooms clean and new. Food quality good. Not the cheapest place in town though.
W.
Great service and delicious and comforting food. Staff are attentive and swift. It is not owned by Japanese people but still do a fairly good job at being authentic
H. L.
Great Karaoke place. Nice range of rooms, and also song choices. Variety of snacks and drinks to order, which is ordered through the console in the room.
R. L.
Had a fun time singing. Such a shame could not eat because kitchen was closed after 5 pm monday
L. H.
Decent but need better microphones, better sound proofing of the rooms, more updated song lists and better food.
G.
Good selection of Japanese food !! I always came here for Karaoke! Good rates during happy hours~ Need some more recent songs please !!!
v. m.
The staff in the front desk is so rude.
M. J.
Accessiblity is great, cosy location, the traditional decoration and ambience is so remarkable.
Food was excellent.
Service was fast.
Bento boxes with misso soup is my prefered selection.
R. N.
Overall a positive experience due to the very low prices in Sydney. One of the mic's were sketchy when I went and the music selection screen interface took 5mins to work out. The very latesr songs were not available, a good idea is to create a list of songs to sing beforehand then have it entered in at the beginning if the session.
T. C.
This is more of a Karaoke rather than a restaurant. Food is cheap but taste is just so so. Not much atmosphere to speak of.
K. K.
Karaoke and great Japanese food all in one place. Touch screen ordering system with pictures makes ordering easy and hassle free especially when you have 10 friends in one room.
s. y.
wagaya's second restaurant that have karaoke features. it acts similarly like mizuya with touch screen menus, have the option to just dine or sing while dining. food is fresh, delicious and wont break your wallet
R. K.
Japanese restaurant located near China Town.
Great atmosphere with private booths. Awesome place for a gathering of friends.
Small touchscreens mounted on the wall are used for ordering the dishes, which include a range of sushi, sashimi and other Japanese cuisines.
C. F.
Extremely cheap karaoke with great up-to-date selection on music. Drinks are a bit expensive.
C. L.
Great atmosphere and great fresh food. Love this place and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves sushi. The price of food is actually very well priced for the city.
A. L.
Great food and grilled eel is strongly recommended. Karaoke is lately updated. Staff were nice.
A. T.
It was a good experience. Staffs were really friendly and no interuption in between. Food is really good, price is reasonable. I will definitely go back again.
D. C.
Wouldn't know this place is there, tried lunch and dinner. Descent price for good sushi and hot food as well. Didn't try the karaoke
B. T.
The food here is so good. The staff here listen to your orders and the ramen is absolutely yum-yum! Good service here.
L. T.
Absolutely love this place, good quality and very reasonably priced. The karaoke can be great fun as well
s. s. m. P.
Great food, nice interior.
T. W.
Karaoke at happy hour is at a good rate, rooms were recently sized and there was a wide selection of songs.
X. X. S.
We had a lunch at Lantern By Wagaga, George Street Syndney 3 days ago. The manager, Kelvin treated us with courtesy, he looked after the seniors and gave us somethings what we needs, for example hot water, tissues, moving to a brighter place and explaining in details about membership registration. Kelvin, your service was friendly and efficient.
Thank you very much !
A. S.
Love the izakaya food here, best dish is the Ox tongue grill.
Very good for Karaoke as they have 3 hour package deals.
T. B.
It's actually one the best karaoke spots in Sydney. Private rooms, great video selections, great food. Be sure to book!
N. G.
Hi, I have been trying to cancel our booking for sat night since you sent the text message on Monday but can’t seem to get a hold of you. I’m looking forward to going next time, however one of our party members are sick so we can’t make it this sat.
D. B.
Great food. Great drinks and a good atmosphere in the restaurant section.
R. T.
The food was ok. Moderate price as well. The karaoke experience was fun!
M.
The best place to have karaoke in the city with the mates, food also nice
A. W.
Perfect for people who aren't fond of dealing with Humans. Listen to bad Karaoke singers as you order food from a touch screen, or find a quiet corner to ponder the realities of life.
R. T.
Good food, fast service nice and cosy place to eat or to go Karaoke.
K. L.
Food is great, drinks were awesome, karaoke room was very luxe with great staff! Highly recommended
A. S.
This is a hidden gem! Similar to Mizuya! You order from a touch screen and food is delivered to your table, excellent service, food was amazing loved the sushi and green tea icecream drink!! A must!!
b. s.
Loved the karaoke, good selection of songs.
E. I.
Good atmosphere and great food. Real Japanese cooking and orders.
K. W.
great place to eat and sing with karoke in the room. service is via touch screen therfore service is excpetionally great for everyone.you can hold your birthday party and have a great time with funtions deals
P. J.
Amazing food, great service.
P. Y.
Big rooms and cheap price $15 for 3 hours. Very nice and many songs available.
K. N.
Karaoke and Japanese food that you can order via a touchscreen. This looks like something you'd find in an alleyway in Tokyo. Small portions and a bit overpriced for what you get, but still a fun night out if you're after something different.
M. H.
Great place for small or large groups, huge variety on drinks and food, the karaoke hardware are in good condition as well.
J. Z.
Good place for karoake but very pricey now when room rates are added on top of the marked up food
E. L.
Went karaoking here a few weeks ago - I usually go to mizuya but they have roughly the same prices so I thought I'd try it out - it's basically the same
E. L.
Reviewing just for karaoke and not the food, there's an ok but not outstanding selection of songs, and the song-selection touchscreen has a hilariously bad user interface.
L. T.
Great place for Japanese food and karaoke. Good selection of songs and very quick service.
T. H.
Great selection of Chinese and English songs, not a wide range of Japanese songs. A bit pricey but you get more privacy
J. G. L.
Quick food and beverage service with clean, well presented rooms.
G. G.
Good variety of food and the karaoke has lots of songs to choose.
W. Y.
Great venue for a dinner and karaoke event. Nice drinks, well priced food and lovely staff.
I. C.
Good place for lunch, decent quality for a good price. Can be a bit noisy at times but comfortable.
A. Q.
Love be the karaoke rooms, love the touchscreen scoring ordering food and beverages. The staff are friendly and courteous 🙂🙂🙂
B. M.
Didn't try the karaoke rooms, but the restaurant had a pretty wide variety of Jap food. A little pricey.
D.
Fun place for some karaoke but watch out for those drinks and min. spend. It can end up being a big night unexpectedly
A.
order amazing Japanese food via touch screen, sing karaoke, pay later after dinner. Get a memebership and earn points.
R. V.
Rooms are a bit small when you think about the price. Food is scarce although the drinks and karaoke are alright.
A. M.
Nice place for a feed and a song or two. They took care of us and it was simple to order food and drink.
j. k.
Amazing food ans decore, but most importantly Wagaya has highly responsive touch screens to order your food with - unlike other places near by.
B. J.
Great karaoke and excellent food. Songs from many languages.
R. M.
Had a rad time - solid food, particularly for somewhere with karaoke. Karaoke facilities are fantastic.
F. P.
It's a great experience to share with friends. The rooms are super nice and they have a lot of songs!
X. W.
Karaoke with food is good option for any meal with entertainment. Tho sound effects r poor.
W. G.
Nice place to eat japanese food while doing the karaoke singing the song. But the song is mostly written with mandarin. Hehe
L. O.
Nice pricing and selection of music. Expensive menu but it's expected
D. C.
Good sushi that is nicely made. Relatively convenient location especially for karaoke.
J. “. S. G. G.
Food is about so-so. Tempura not crunchy, onigiri too much rice... maybe okey for karaoke and drinks...
F. D.
Not all songs I wanted to sing wasn't there list. Bit disappointed. Food and drink were ok.
S. L.
I love the little rooms for private karaoke. Food is delicious
J. D.
Karaoke together with Japanese food is very convenient.
J. P.
Good karaoke room, the worst toilets in Sydney!
D. d. Z.
Good food, excellent drink selection, excellent range of songs on the karaoke machine
M. N.
Great Japanese food paired with a great karaoke system with the great list of songs.
R. M.

D. N.
Family fun is good value but food is not entirely fresh especially avoid sashimi.
S. H.
Had Hamilton songs (and the old interface). 5/5
M. M.
Good place for gathering with friends, food and karaoke package is real good value for money.
M. P.
Great lunch time bento specials! Also great for those karaoke sessions.
K.
That’s cheap if you get lunch with karaoke. Actually you won’t lost your money if only just have food. That’s the reason I like here!
A. D.
Left plates on the side of the booth to encourage staff to clear up, they didn't until we left
Great food, lovely ambience
B.
Ordered the curry rice with chicken - potato felt hard, curry was okay - tried better places elsewhere
M. J.
Good tasty food. But you can hear the karaoke through the paper thin walls.
V. M.
Great karaoke place. Also food directly to booth
J. T.
Prompt service and food was decent in taste.
Good for groups.
O. S.

Good food but I found the selection of food wasn’t as authentic as it used to be
C. M.

D. X.
The food is outstanding. Hasn't been a while, it is improving a lot
A. C.
good Lunch time food option and nice karoke rooms available...
J. L.
I wish they had their octopus balls back, always love this place.
H. M. L.
The taste was not bad in au. The price is quite acceptable about Japanese food
J. Y.
