Comments of Lindsay's Cafe

It was a busy day and the staff were warm and friendly. The chef made sure there was a non-spicy version of chicken for the kids. My brisket went well with the kale salad, pumpkin purée, and parsnip crisps.

Had yummy scones and coffee here this afternoon. However what really impressed me was the staff. They were enjoying themselves as they worked and that makes me think that owners/managers make it a great place to work. This means the customers of the cafe will always be happy and well looked after as well. Great job!

What a delightful cafe, lovely owner and staff. We only dropped in for coffee and the scones with REAL cream were very good. Next time will go for a meal!
When travelling it's not often we come upon a really good restaurant, but this one was excellent.

The food was fantastic not a massive selection but no matter what you choose the food is good with a good coffee to go with it. It’s a nice little cafe with a great view of the bush land surrounding it. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing morning or evening

Location and serenity of this place is gorgeous. Coffee is beautiful. Great hidden blue mountain gem.
E. S.
Had a pleasant experience. Nice seating on the balcony. Ordered the barra burger, gnocchi and a couple smoothies, all were nice and timely. Staff were welcoming and friendly as well.

Enjoyed another great meal at Lindsays last week. The staff are so helpful and friendly and the food is healthy fresh and yummy. Love that the cafe is dog friendly and I can take my pup there after a weekend walk.
You must order the Potato Bravis..and the cocktails are really really good too!
M.
Food and coffee was pretty good but kitchen closed at 2.30 and we weren't told on the phone when making the booking or on the website, as our booking was for 2.30 this slightly affected our plans. Apart from that nice location and good service.
D. M.
Ok food quality. Clearly impacted by Covid staff shortage with longer waits for food, coffee and table service. Wait staff neglected to check tables for clearing, orders, and we noticed lack of table Covid cleaning between customers
K. M.
A peaceful bush setting, outstanding food and wonderful customer service. Highly recommend the gnocchi and Barramundi burger. The baked potatoes with the burger were so perfectly crunchy. A perfect Sunday lunch.
D. M.
Lovely terrace with sounds of the Australian bush land.
Good food and service.

I visited the Norman Lindsay gallery. The gallery is so great and I do love to explore around the gallery. Huge and large landscape. Beautiful sculpture around the gallery. After I explored around the gallery, I have a chance to visit the Lindsay’s Cafe. Nice place. Great for relaxing with a food and drink. I ordered a coffee. Very nice coffee. Friendly staffs and great service. Fast services.

Slow food restaurant with great local produced transformed in to a mix of classic and modern Australian dishes across breakfast, lunch, snacks and dessert. Highlight is the 'Magic Pudding' dessert which changes every day.
Went on a public holiday - busy, but definitely worth the wait for food and drink in a magical setting

Food was okay! We got the special pie but the inside was a little cold so I’m not sure how fresh it was but we were too hungry to get it reheated. The staff were very lovely though and it’s situated in a really quaint backyard that’s almost like you’re in a rainforest. And plenty of wildlife surrounds you while you eat. The black pepper cracker fell apart during or visit and we had a HUGE pile of black peppercorns on our pie. It was more funny than anything else.

Lovely location and surrounds, friendly service and good food, but after today's experience I'm in no hurry to return.
We were booked in at 12:15pm for lunch (table of 2).
We were there almost an hour before food arrived (daily specials, so not a complex order).
Disappointed to see the tour bus group served their meals before us when they arrived well after we did. Whether they had pre-ordered or not, this is probably what made us wait so long.
Although we were keen to have dessert, after a further half hour of waiting, we decided enough was enough and left without it.

A great place to dine in and have spectacular food! We had the Lindsay's breakfast and the smashed avo. Staffs were super friendly as well.
T. G.
Apparently there has been a recent change in ownership leading to some disappointment amongst locals due to the reduced menu options. Lucky for my friend and me we enjoyed our choice of meals. It was a glorious sunny day so we sat outside enjoying the view of the rustic bush surrounds (at one of the tables at the back as the 'front verandah' was full). Staff were friendly. I'm taking off one point off only as the limited menu would be a draw-back with a large group that may have various dietary requirements... And if it was a gloomy cold day the atmosphere/views might not make up for it.

Lovely, simple, gem of a cafe. Hidden away down a driveway near the Norman Lindsay Gallery & Museum. It gets busy, so bookings are good. We didn’t have one the first time we went, but the staff found a way to fit us in.
K. C.
Food was superb in a gorgeous tucked away spot in the mountains. Desperatley needs a fireplace! Service was good to start with but then waitress ducked off and we couldn't find her to order something else. Coffee was great.
G. C.
I had the scones and cappuccino for afternoon tea. They were ok but nothing special. It was raining on the day and mud and puddles everywhere.
M. R.
Great coffee and food located 3 minutes from falcumbridge in a beautiful spot next to the art gallery. Great place for couples and Friends to come together over a meal or fine coffee 👌
T. F.
A must stop, if you’re in the area.
You can taste the love in the food; there’s a beautiful variety of freshly prepared meals and snacks.
The outside sitting area in the back is lovely. Grab a bite, pick one of the many hot drinks and enjoy the fresh air.
The staff is very friendly. Minor negative: there’s constantly a bit of a queue for the single bathroom.
P. L.
Nice cafe in leafy setting in Faulconbridge with good food and coffee. I asked for a BLAT, which wasn't actually on the menu, but they made it for me anyway, and it was very nice. Gotta give them 5 stars for that.
Just downgraded my rating from 5 to 4 stars. I ordered bacon and eggs this morning, with roast tomato & mushrooms. Everything tasted very nice. But if you're going to use shortcut bacon, you should serve two pieces in place of one regular rasher or 4 pieces for an order of two rashers. Otherwise, you're getting half the amount of bacon you would get elsewhere.

Fresh food. Awesome staff. Lovely scenery. Looking for somewhere to eat and came across this fantastic cafe. You wont be disappointed.

Lindsay's has always been a favourite destination of mine, and after reading a few of the latest reviews I returned with my son with a feeling of trepidation that one of my go to's was a coffee only venue for a while. This wasnt to be. The food was flavoursome and there was plenty of it. I had the lamb stew which was lovely and my son had smashed avo (with plenty of avo) with a signature dukkha which was delicious. The side dish of spiced potato and fetta, with aoili was incredible and worth the trip on
their own. I'm looking forward to returning soon. Well done Lindsay's crew

I love this place. Amazing dirty chai(made in house), create environment and amazing staff.

This place is just awesome! Second tapas night for us and it was even better than the first one. Food was incredible and servings were generous. Loved the beer and cider selections. I’m still dreaming about the dessert trio, absolutely exquisite. I could happily live on the meringue and citrus curd roll thingy for the rest of my days.
Service was awesome and love the family feel of the place.
My three year old came along as well and she had a top time. The live music was a treat.
Can’t wait for the next tapas night!
R. A.
Lovely ambience and setting, clean. Not somewhere to go if you're after a quick bite. When the waitress came to clear our coffee mugs and asked if we'd like anything else, we asked if our mains were coming soon ( this is about an hour). After finding the order hadn't been put in we decided to have simple scones - quick and easy - as was about 330pm and we were very hungry! Scones were nice but not sure I'd go back, mains prices were few dollars over what I'd expect but I guess it's attached to a gallery and atmosphere is nice.

We chose the Lindsay's cafe for an intimate wedding dinner for 21 people after our ceremony in the gardens. Everything about our experience with the staff and the food more than met our expectations. Jess was so easy to communicate with when we were planning the event and discussing the menu. After the ceremony we arrived to find the space beautifully set up. The staff were attentive, but unobtrusive. Each course of the 3 course dinner arrived well spaced. We had many compliments about the food and our vegetarian guests especially loved the pumpkin gnocci Ashleigh had made a rainbow cake for us. We had the best time and we didn't have to think about anything...as a bonus, we thought that the wedding package was great value for money!
B. T.
5 stars for food and service.
4 stars for value and location/setting.
.
Had the big breakfast which was the best i've had from a cafe. The kangaroo sausage was the nicest sausage I've ever had. So much flavour!
.
My wife had the roast salad which was equally delicious. Generous portions and fresh ingredients.
.
Quaint setting nestled away in the bush. A very blue mountains experience.

Nestled amongst beautiful gardens and homestead. A humble patronage to Norman Lindsay. Sitting in the quaint surroundings. Breathing in the atmosphere of imagined canvas .Of pastels oils and artistic mediums. One could get transported in time. The vibe is pleasant and yet remarkable. Atmospheric in every sense. Cake of the day. An equally delightful portion. The coffee superb in construction. Staff are more than accomodating. A Fabulous Slice of Falconbridge. Well Done!!!

We have frequented this lovely cafe regularly for many years. After an 18 month break, we visited yesterday and was shocked to see the price of the haloumi burger had risen to $19 and is not served with a handful of fries. While it was lovely, the chef had forgotten the spring onions and there was not much on it. So that's quite an expensive lunch for very little and when compared to their other meals that appeared to have a more normal amount. While the waitress did take 10% off for the missing onions, the price increase of this meal and for what it is is disappointing. I have visited other cafes in galleries which are a couple of dollars cheaper and they serve more on theirs. And in all honesty, what's a handful of fries, approx 30c?
S. B.
Always enjoy the casual ambiance at Lindsay's Cafe. Coffee & food always tasty.
B. R.
We had the best time on a Sunday visit to the Gallery and the Cafe. The menu is well thought and creative, with good choices of salads and daily specials (the beef & chorizo pie was amazing). Relaxed atmosphere, locally sourced ingredients and drinks and a friendly staff.
D. N.
Great place very friendly service and lovely food, excellent coffee in a historical setting. A must visit.
A. H.
Excellent service and amazing food. Easy to access - with a short flat walk from the main road. (Can drive down and drop off if needed). The setting is lovely - rustic and surrounded by trees. Treat yourself afterwards to a stroll through the Norman Lindsay Gallery gardens.
G. T.
Sunday Breakfast delightful. Friendly staff and the freshest of food.
Nature embraces you with it's timeless beauty which is the attraction of Lindsay's Cafe. Try the easy walking track and feel the peaceful embrace of scenerity. Suit all ages. Singles, Couples and Families will enjoy a very pleasant experience.

I recently had the pleasure of attending Lindsay's "Beer, Wine and Tappas Night" and had an amazing evening. Having never eaten from the restaurant before, my friends from Sydney and I were very impressed with each dish we tried! We had share plates of the Souvlaki, Arancini, Fish Tacos, Chicken Wings, Cob Loaf, and Calamari, finishing up with a desert taster platter, and were only disappointed that we were too full to try everything else on the menu. The staff were friendly and accommodating and service was very fast. Live music playing on the night added to the homely atmosphere of the venue and we enjoyed the selection of local beers and the Tasmanian wine recommended to us by the staff. I would definitely recommend Lindsay's and will certainly be visiting again!
B. M.
The size of the portions was enormous. I had hard time finishing my gourmet steak sandwich. The children meal was about 2 times larger than needed. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately the cafe was definitely understaffed for the level of traffic we experienced. The main courses were tasty but nothing to write home about. Maybe we should have tried their desserts.
l. p.
We had breakfast there today and took our dog. We were sat in an outside area. The food was nice, service was slow. Food arrived after our drinks. We had a view into a storage room that's door was left open even though we closed it, they kept opening it to drop off supplies. There was bird droppings on our chair. Experience was so so.
R.
I had the Seafood Plate for 2. Absolutely delicious and so fresh! The Cafe was able to cater for one of our party of 8 who is coeliac.
Meal sizes were good.
We were able to get a pair of tables on the front verandah. Picture perfect.
R. E.
Have always had great service and a beautiful meal. The owner is accommodating and has a heart of gold and does everything she can to make your experience welcoming and satisfying. The breakfasts are particularly delicious! The Gallery also encourages local artists by curating exhibitions that make the experience all the richer. In short, wonderful warm meals, a warm welcome and an overall nourishing experience.
M. B. K.
The cafe itself is set around beautiful gardens and the area is very pretty. Staff were very friendly but my only issue is that all the food is just too fancy. If I want a sandwich I’d like it on bread which they didn’t have. It felt like looking for toast in the city. Otherwise great location and I’m sure suits people who don’t mind an expensive lunch.
K. R.
We had a lovely lunch despite the rain.
D. M.
Lovely setting ok food/coffee
Barista needs training ordered almod flat white and a large flat white both came out with heaps of foam!
Poached eggs with bacon and sourdough were perfectly cooked, glad I ordered extra bacon so I had 2 rashers.
Panacotta with granola came with the smallest serve of granola I have ever seen, definitely not enough for breakfast...
Lovely setting though in the gardens very relaxing.

Great little cafe, quality coffee, friendly staff!
K. J.
It has been quite a while since I was last at this wonderful café/restaurant. I enjoyed my last visit and this latest one even more. The tranquil and historic bushland setting, the quantity and quality of the food, the service and the prices were all superb. The experience has, on both occasions, been enhanced by casually walking the Norman Lindsay Gallery estate until the meal settles. I shall return.
D. R.
I have enjoyed Lindsay's in the past, but was disappointed on this occasion. The food and service were fine, but I had phoned in advance to book and to ensure that the cafe could cope with a patron in a wheelchair - I was told it was accessible, but that is not the case. It is possible to get a chair into the cafe, but there are no accessible toilets, the nearest being 20 minutes drive away. Consequently we had a hurried run to Blaxland and coffee at MacDonalds instead of a relaxed afternoon around Faulconbridge. Pity, really.

TAPAS! WINE! MUSIC! Oh Boy!!!
What a winner of a night!
The Live music was perfect for a mellow mood. The Pinot grigio I chose was delicious and the food **insert drooling face** Bliss...
Between the 6 of us we tried all the dishes and weren’t disappointed with a single one. My personal favourites was the Trio or Sliders and Halloumi Chips. So good! The servings were generous and we enjoyed every bite.
But!!! Then they brought the Duo of Desserts and coffees to the tables and oh my, heaven....
This group of Mums just found our monthly night out. :-D
S. G.
The menu has been updated and the food is much better than before. The ravioli is excellent but is extremely overpriced. Love that they now serve all day breakfast! The staff are extremely courteous and friendly and the coffee is very good.
S. I.
Small but great menu! Tasty dishes and wonderful outside seating. As well as indoor seating. For a cafe so tucked away, we were so glad to see so many “regulars” stopping in for a coffee and muffin.
A. D.
They were great for a group of 8. Maybe a bit slow in service, but the food was very good for lunch. Just a bit weird that we got ham instead of bacon with our all day brekkies.
E. T.
Delightful cafe in a beautiful spot. Everything we ordered was delicious, the new owners are making a real effort to create something special. I hope to return soon to try some of the delectable sweets!
S. N.
Awesome food, lovely staff and a beautiful location. The verandah is my pick for a special meal with people you love. Recommend booking early for special occasions as this cafe books out fast!! A must visit in the blue mountains
M. N.
Most enjoyable meal, attentive service, pleasant surroundings. Variety of unfamiliar flavours on my plate with a generous serving at a fair price. Was I pleased? Oh yes
M. D.
Decent food, coffee, and drinks. Not great, but then again there's pretty much no other options.
L. M.
Went here for breakfast on a Living Social deal. Breakfast was lovely, servings were very generous & service was friendly. Would recommend brining aeroguard if you want to sit outside as there were a lot of mosquitos. Would definately visit again.
G. H.
Our group were there for lunch. The lunch had been pre ordered and was ready on time. The food was excellent and the service was very good.
Recommended for any group.
C. W.
Beautiful bush setting, friendly attentive staff and great food and coffee - couldn’t ask for more! The fresh scones with house jam are amazing.
L. S.
The most amazing scones! Freshly baked with homemade jam and freshly whipped cream. The go to place for scones in a lovely nature setting.
A. T.
Nice staff and location. Food was a good average. Prices were steep for what you got. I would go back, but I would hunt around for alternates next time. Given the location there's not a bunch of options close.
H.
Cute little cafe at the foot of the blue mountains. Great comfort food on a cold winters day. Have to try the scones! Will definitely be back.
D. H.
Really lovely venue. Service was pleasant but very slow and my bacon and egg roll was very burnt (black), I would have sent it back but didn't have the time to wait for another.
D. !.
Nice seating, tasty food, and very nice and polite staff!

Gorgeous place for lunch, especially on the verandah. The food was delish and fresh. Their cappucinos are also very good. Friendly staff.

L. K.
Excellent gourmet food. I have been there for breakfast and lunch. Great menu. Lovely setting and good service
M. M.
Relaxing place to visit, staff are friendly, food is great, can't blame staff for when it's busy due to being a family run business, sometimes the wait is long but that doesn't worry me as it is peaceful and the very relaxing
