The arancinis are the best I've ever had! My Italian friend thought so as well. I had a pizza and it was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately we weren't able to purchase wine so had to do BYO! I would definitely recommend a visit here.

Today I spend a wonderful dinner time with my friends. However, I get a terrific service by Marilina; she is friendly and willing to help. Macchiato is a great place for Italian Cuisine. The venue serves coffee, desserts, pasta and pizza. We tried pizza, dessert and coffee all were amazing. The only concern is hospitality of staff as waitress told us that kitchen is closed although we could order pizza. I was just expecting a bit of context to imagine that we were hungry and could order pizza instead. Overall, highly recommended.

Amazing Italian food. The Spaghetti prawns in Napoletana sauce was fresh, tangy and cheesy with a generous serving of prawns. The Chicken Funghi pizza was delicious and it had the perfect crust. We also ordered Calamari Fritti for starters which was super hot and crispy. I’m definitely going back to Macchiato the next chance I get!

Amazing, great vibe, the food is great, fresh, great number of choices on the menu. Nice desert options too. Very toddler friendly. Staff are quick and attentive, clean organised. Will definitely be back.

Great restaurant recommended by my good friend Devin. Great atmosphere and every time I come back to Sydney and visit here there has been love music. The food is tasty and the drinks are good too! Staying at a nearby Motel and looking for an easy meal. WHAT A GREAT PIZZA! The pastry was brilliant, thin and well cooked on the base with a lovely light roll of pastry around the edge. The tomato base was tasty with enough to coat it but not to drip off the edge when picked up to eat. The fillings were an elegant sufficiency, fresh and equally delicious. Now, if only I could make my own as good as this one was!

Came to Sydney for a holiday and couldn’t find anywhere we really liked to eat! Stumbled across this gorgeous place and fell in love with how amazing it was. Came for dinner and had a beautiful wood fire pizza and salad, the price was great and was probably the best woodfire pizza I have had. Also came for breakfast and was served a perfect coffee and mouth watering breakfast. Would have happily eaten here the entire holiday. To top it off every staff member we encountered was so nice and we were treated wonderfully. Would 100% recommend!!!!

The Woodfire ribs steak was juice, tender, well seasoned. The rissoto was rich, creamy with lots and lots of mushroom. I think they use portobello and chesnut mushrooms. I really recommend them. Pizzas are also one of their specialties. Be patient to wait to be seated as they have quite a crowd number of people who wish to dine in.

I'm so glad these guys survived the lockdown! Neither quality of food, neither quality of service got decreased. Had a wonderful dinner at their place and had great time. I called ahead of time and asked if they had a table for 6 in 15 minutes and they said ‘yes yes, come in come in!’ We walked in and waited at the ‘wait here to be seated’ sign for nearly 10 minutes. 2 staff members even asked us to move out of the way without even addressing us as patrons waiting for a table. We eventually got seated and I hoped the food would be better than the service. The food was very good! However the service remained terrible with the only exception of a lovely young woman with short blonde hair. So in short, better than average food, (the gnocchi was 👌🏻), but the service pretty terrible.

Down from Melbourne weekend of the 27/3 and wanted to escape the miserable Sydney weather. Came across Macchiato, and was excited to try due to the ambiance of the venue. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Their staff however, were extremely inconsistent and inattentive. Took about 20 minutes just for a drink order to be placed when my partner and I were one of only 4 couples in store at the time. There was 3 waitresses standing around just polishing dishes in the meantime. Our waitress also got our order wrong after repeating it back to her twice. The coffee was prepared on a bench after the barista climbed up onto said bench, to reach something stored away about the shelving units without then wiping the counter down. Waiter, can I have my coffee without a side of dirt?! Wont be back.

Family-friendly restaurant, kids menu is of great value. The floor manager was a very nice gentlemen, I ordered one set of kids meal for my two children to share, and he offered my son a free juice and ice cream. Margarita pizza tastes amazing!

Our waiter, Rakan, attended to everything, bottled water, personal suggestions, and confirmed as to the drinks which would be best suited for what we had ordered!! We booked here for a birthday and were super keen to try it out, however upon arrival we had been told the liquor license had expired and we had to byo. A little inconvenience but it wasn’t until we ordered till the worst thing happened, we had just been served our entrees and before you know it out mains come out. We barely had any room on the tiny table and felt like we were being forced out. To top it off the desserts were stale except the ricotta cheesecake and we were charged two byo charges. The staff were somewhat friendly but seamed disinterested in doing their job. The food was actually really nice except we didn’t get to enjoy any of it as it was forced down our throat.

AMAZING food and amazing service! We loved spending our date night here. The waiters were all so helpful and assisted whenever we needed. Macchiato has fantastic vibes. That being said we found their service on a quiet Monday night to be slow. We were seated in a quiet section and it took effort to flag down someone to take our order or grab the bill. The mushroom risotto was standard, the lamb ragu, a touch too salty for our taste (even though we generously season our food at home). Perhaps next time we would try their pizza and have better luck. The lemon meringue tart, while aesthetic and beautiful to look at, had a high ratio of meringue to lemon curd, making it too sweet unless we swept off at least half of it to the side.

FOOD- Pizza is okay. Not amazing. It didnt really taste like woodfire, it tasted like oven pizza. Maybe it was the dough. WAITER- he has got to slow down and stop rushing. I always thought all water tasted the same because they were constituted by the same chemical, dihydrogen monoxide. However, au contraire, Machiatto proved me wrong! I was utterly flabbergasted by how exotic their table water was! Marcy's customer service was exemplar, outstanding, and conscientious. He refilled our water not once, not twice, but TWELVE times with swift haste! He did not meander. He made sure we were not delayed from savouring this magnificent, succulent, refreshing beverage. I came into that restaurant thirsty and walked out of it quenched, invigorated, and a new man. If Sydney had a top 10 places to visit, this place would be at the top. A really excellent Italian restaurant in the heart of Sydney's shopping district. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly, and the decor of the restaurant managed to make a large space feel comfortable and homely. The food was very good. The pizzas woodfired and tasty, with classic topping combinations that can't go wrong when using quality ingredients. The entrees were just as good, the squid being a highlight.

This many people can't be wrong! Macchiato was a delightful dinner destination on a cruisy Sunday evening on a long weekend. Everything was delectable - the bruschetta, penne pollo and lasagne were all divine. Service was efficient and friendly, too. No wonder this place is so popular (particularly among cops, it would seem - they know good, late night coffee!). Servings were very generous - even makes the Sunday surcharge worth it. We walked out so full that we got takeaway tiramisu, knowing that we'd be hankering for dessert later (and what better than authentic Italian housemade tiramisu). 10/10

Great place to check out in Sydney CBD, staff are friendly, informative, and attentive, waiting on my husband and I hand and foot despite the fact that our table was relatively out of the way from the busy centre floor. It really feels like they put in the extra effort to make sure that every customer feels welcomed and appreciated. Food is superb, I don't know what the chefs are paid but they deserve a raise anyway, upon the recommendation of our waiter i ordered the Quatro Fromaggi pizza while my husband enjoyed the Gnocchi Pomodoro. Every bite of the Quatro Fromaggi feels as if Jesus Christ came down from heaven to kiss me gently upon the mouth.

Average pizza for a woodfired pizza restaurant. The pasta was quite one dimensional and tough. The only saving grace was the calamari, which was crisp and nicely cooked. However, the biggest downside was the lack of attentive waiters and two cappuccinos that took about 20 minutes and a reminder from us to be served.

What an amazing place! We had a really good night in Macchiato. We went with our Italian friend and he definitely says that is one the best and authentic pizza restaurants in Syndey. I came here for a work lunch with over 20 people and I was quite impressed with how the efficiently the food was served and the friendly service. While we did get charged for a coke that we did not have, the staff responded quickly to a missing pizza order. At the end of the day, the group was very satisfied with the quality of the food. One good thing I want to point out was the amount of information on the menu that made it easy to cater for large groups with diverse dietary requirements.

We were a table of 8 served by the ever friendly Mario. My vongole pasta was awesome. Tried 5 of the desserts and pistachio tiramisu is my favourite. Bf likes the cheesecake most. In general, they're all good. Restaurant is big in size and could easily cater for couple, small to big groups. Although recommended to make a reservation if you're coming in a group. The only negative point: Not a big fan of the Sangria as the fruity taste were missing and the red doesn't taste smooth. Nevertheless, still worthy of return visits.

Price: The price is moderate, each person only needs 40 Australian dollars, it is suitable for couples and a group of young friends to have dinner. Environmental aspects: The environment is very good, the wine and wooden decoration style is very good. There are a lot of tables, the space is big enough, it won't be crowded, and there is no smell of soot. Meals may need to be lined up for a while. Service: The service of the waiter is very warm and the quality of service is commendable. Overall, this is a great western restaurant, perfect for dating.

Peanut and caramel cheesecake. The place is very crowded in the evening and you have to queue outside till you get seated. One of the nest Italian places in Sydney. The food is fresh and extremely delicious. Its one of the best pizza i have had it in my life. The place is cozy and warm. Busy Italian place in the CBD with good pizzas and delicious beef cheeks. If you're coming for dinner you definitely need a booking as the place gets packed out. For ordering they have a small but decent wine list and for food stick with the pizzas you can't go wrong. Service was good but when it's busy the servers are run off their feet and orders can take a bit longer. Worth a try if you're in the mood for pizza and in the area

Went on a weekday evening, there was no queue and the vibes was really chill and nice. The service staffs were great as well. Ordered a Canivora pizza and a vanilla milkshake. The pizza was a little too salty for my liking, but the milkshake was really nice! It wasn't too sweet as I thought it would be.

Really good food. Wasn't very busy, so our order was fulfilled quickly. Everything was fresh, including the dessert (which can have a tendency to be hard and stale if it's sitting in a display for a while). We had the Misto Mare and Carnivora pizza's and a dessert that is not on the current menu. A tiramisu topped with glazed nuts and chocolate. All choices recommended and I would have them again. The pizza's were great, however you better be ready to eat it with a knife and fork. The crust is far too thin to pick it up. Prices are a little higher, but not out of the park Staff were friendly and there is a good atmosphere. Wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Managed to get a table here on my second try. Definitely make a reservation in advance between Thursday and Sunday. The server/front-of-house lady wasn't too friendly when I tried to get a table on my first try a couple of months ago- even though the place was filling up quick, it wasn't overly pumping yet, so she could have tried being more polite (or not given us a look like we were dirt under her shoe). It wasn't much quieter the second time I visited his place. The server that seated us this time was much nicer, and brought us to a table shortly after we arrived. He was friendly, approachable, and invited us to ask him if we had any questions at all about the menu. We orders the house-made pasta with a sort of lamb ragu sauce, the marinara pizza, and the grilled chicken skewers. The pasta was delicious and lamb tender, the marinara was good, and though the server commended us on our choice of chicken skewers, it was a little too salty for our taste. We also got a chocolate cannoli, which wasn't too bad, but nothing like the cannoli from Italy (this place seemed to pride itself on its Italian authenticity, through its menu offerings and European/Italian team of servers). Overall, an okay meal for the price we paid (>$90). I expected to pay much more for this place that always seems popular, given its central location.

Had a very good dinner with one of their pizza's, it was busy but no long waiting times before food was served. Great choice in al different kind of Italian food. Directly tap water on the table, quick and experienced personnel, an oiled team. Also a great choice in house made desserts, together with a good coffee made the dinner a real delight.

We tried the Penne Alla Siciliana ($23) and the Fettuccini Alla Bolognese ($27). Both were made with fresh homemade pasta and a delicious rich tomato sauce. Good serving sizes. Couldn't ask for anymore. The food came quite quickly, especially considering how busy they were. I was trying to decide between 2 different glasses of red wine on the menu and the waitress brought me a free half glass of one of them to try. Fantastic wait staff and very friendly. I'd highly recommend this restaurant.

Because we've been there in the beginning of the night, it wasn't crowded at all, so we could talk just fine without too much noise. Food is delicious, pretty pack at night, most of the staff is great, but one waiter (short, Italian) seems to have a bit of attitude. Or maybe that's the Italian way? But I did not feel welcome. There aren't many vegan choices, although they have different symbols for allergies, their menu is misleading. How can a dish with cheese be label vegan? Don't trust what they put always ask, and the staff seems clueless as well, when I insist to tell him to make the dish vegan, and he said "it is already vegan" without reading the ingredients. 3 stars only because despite a great location, good food, and most staff are ok, but one or two are bad apples. And their food labelling can't be trusted after me finding out about the mistake and the lack of initiatives from the staff and quick to correct customers.

Visited by myself on my first night in Sydney. As patchy drizzle began to fall on the streets of the city, the restaurant drew my attention with its warm-coloured lights and relaxing live performance. The service was excellent, the food was exquisite, and the ambience was simply convivial. The risotto pollo e zucca did not fail my expectations, and the dolce vita that was recommended to me by a staff was perfect to the taste. I was, perhaps, the only customer in the restaurant who dined alone that night, but three staff members came by my table and asked about my food, which made me feel less awkward and excluded in a place where others were dining with friends, families and dates. I would especially like to thank the staff who had waited my table and recommended the dolce vita to me. Overall, this restaurant gave my visit to Sydney a great start.

From the outside this place looks like one of those massive Sydney chain restaurants. I was a walk-in, a solo diner looking for a quick meal before a film, and Macchiato delivered. I was seated without a wait and the service was quick and friendly. I got the pappardelle ragu di agnello. The pasta -- fantastic. Cooked al dente, heaps of personality. The tomato sauce was great -- good depth of flavour, texture, bright acidity. Not sure the olives were Ligurian but they were nice. But the lamb clearly wasn't cooked in the sauce -- not my understanding of a ragu. The menu claimed it was cooked for eight hours -- it was backstrap, no fat, no lamb flavour either, and if you cooked it for eight hours it'd be tough and shrunken. This could have been incredible but it ended up being mediocre.

A little conflicted on this one. 1 ordered my pizza online, which was confusing, as it basically gave me two different times for when the order would be ready (22mins vs 9pm, about a 30min discrepancy). Because of this I did arrive later to a cold pizza, which they were happy enough to make again for me after explaining the situation. The pizza itself was quite nice. Lovely crispy and charred dough with a soft tip on the slice. As for the toppings, generally they were fine, however the chicken was a little dry, and the shaved ham felt a bit too 'processed'. However the overall composition of my pizza was well balanced, tasty and appealing to the eye. Not too little, not too much.

We were charged $15 for each piece of cake - so even though the coffee is free, it's not really free. The cost of the cake does not appear on their menu, nor is it displayed in their cake display case. So, be sure to ask for pricing ahead of ordering.

I've been here twice before. The first time the experience was decent, I ordered a pasta and ate that myself. The second time we came as a large group. Having not made a booking (because it annoyingly wants your card details), we were still seated quite quickly. The service was mediocre. Our waiter produced cups for us, but didn't bring water. He also didn't provide a full set of plates and cutlery for everyone. Having said that, he was also quite friendly and seemed swamped by the large amount of tables he was handling. The pizzas here are decent but quite expensive. They also weren't cut very well, with some slices representing up to a third of the area. They were also happy to do split bill both times I went, which is definitely a bonus.

I've had lunch here - a group of 3 - we had avo toast and pancakes. We had to ask several times for ice cream for the pancakes (and waited a long time for it), but everything was delicious.

We have been here several times on our once per year trips to Sydney with friends, this time was no different. Mario took good care of the 10-12 (our numbers changed through the evening) of us for our literal last minute booking after our reservation elsewhere fell through horribly. Food was it's usual good quality and quantity. My better half tells me the bbq chicken was the best chicken she's had. I had a really nice prosciutto pizza. One bloke had the ribs and thoroughly enjoyed them and the two steak eaters near me were impressed with the quality. Wine was quite good for the price and deserts were tasty and plenty considering I was full of pizza. Split bills really helped out and we saw so many friendly staff faces I lost count.

Most tender calamari I have ever tasted when in other places it mostly feels like you are eating rubber. Been there several times .....BUT ........ one thing that ALWAYS spoils the experience is the problem when you order any alcohol. It never arrives as you would expect. Always have to ask two or three times after the meal arrives when the beer or wine will be served. Staff every time we ask this seem confused. Often the bar is completely unattended and the orders keep flowing and no one to attend to this. On the last occasion , ( after asking three times ) the waiter had to go into the bar himself and prepare our drinks order. They need to get their act together on this one. Keeps happening. Overall , putting aside the drinks problem , it’s not too bad.

Best restaurant experience I've had in a long time, maybe ever. Started by having breakfast which was delicious so we came back for dinner. The place was full on a Wednesday night and we expected to wait a while for our meals to come out but we were surprised when the pizza was on the table in about 10 minutes. We were given a complimentary entree and dessert from Theresa because it was our anniversary (and maybe for having to wait a few minutes for our table). Came here with a really big appetite and left with a belly full of food and leftovers for lunch. My mate and I arrived late and decided to get a rack of ribs each and share a large pizza. The guy at the counter advised us to get the two racks of rib combo as opposed to just order two lots of just the ribs. For $30 we got a huge pile of ribs, a bowl of wedges, a large garlic pizza (one of the best I've ever had) a garlic bread (had loads of garlic) and two small pieces of corn. Between the two of us we didn't even get to the garlic pizza let alone the large pizza we ordered. I had the supreme pizza the following day and it was a really good pizza, it woodfire pizza but still really well cooked with a generous amount of toppings. Highly recommended this place. Value for money it's unbeatable.

Great Italian pizza and pasta. Wonderful tasty options prepared in an authentic woodfire setting. Has a lovely atmosphere and often filled with people at dinner. Often is a short wait despite the amount of people, and sometimes has a line. The only downsides would be the price - but it is quite standard amongst the pizza joints around Sydney (this may even be a dollar or two cheaper depending on where you go). Also, only one small toilet. Nevertheless, good experience in a group or with your partner.

It is a really crowded, busy place, so if you are looking for a cosy, peaceful restaurant for a romantic dinner, it's not here. This was such a great dinning experience from the moment we walked into the restaurant and until we left. Thank you to Nicolas for finding us a table at such short notice on friday night. A big thank you goes to Alessandra, she made my brother feel so relaxed in such a busy restaurant and her service was exceptional. The rest of the staff were fantastic as well, checked to see if everything is OK and good humour by all, it's as though we have known each other for years Great atmosphere and even better if you can see them working the wood fire oven. The food was absolutely delicious and considering it was friday night the service was quick. This place runs like a well oiled machine and congratulations to all of you and thank you for making this a one of the highlights of our Sydney trip Cheers

We ordered delivery. The order was late and the food was cold! Not a little bit cold, the pizza was really cold and soggy. Very disappointing. The delivery driver was also unfriendly. Unfortunately this place could be so much more. However it faces some problems that in my experiences there have caused a problem. One of them is the shortage of staff for the size of the place, adding to that is the actual quality of it because they keep forgetting orders. Maybe with some better management they could improve the service. In terms of food, the quality varies from plate to plate, for example the rissotto a la marinara lacked the 'marinara' flavour or at least it was too soft for my taste. The pizzas were alright. The atmosphere was OK and the design of the place is nice. Lets hope they just do better.

Me and my boyfriend went to this restaurant last week to celebrating the news about a new job. We ate a BBQ recommended by the waitress Elena Ferrer. I ordered a pizza to take away. Unfortunately it took some time, till I could place my order, although they were not busy late in the evening. Once I could manage the preparation of a pizza Margherita with additional onions, I had to wait for a very few minutes only. Back in the hotel, I opened the box and there was an extremely good looking and delicious pizza inside. I liked the wood fired, thin and soft dough a lot! The tomato sauce had a very aromatic and fruity flavour! Toppings were a toothsome treat. The bottom line is: I had a very delicate pizza to eat and I definetly will return next time when back in Sydney!

The boys & girls at Macchiato are absolute gems & never disappoint whether it's their phenomenal in-house roasted coffee varieties (this of course includes a mandatory custard filled canoli or any other guilty pleasure cake offering!) or mind-blowing wood fired treats & meals!! All the reviews seemed to rave about the pizza so I ordered one too - specifically the carne. The pizza lived up to expectations and was fairly large as well. Dinner with four friends. The food was absolutely incredible. I had the beef cheek and it was the most tastiest meat dish i have had in years. Atmosphere was grest and staff are very friendly. Will be visiting more often. Happy to say this restaurant is now in my top five of all time.

Tonight is the 3rd time my friend & I have been here in the past couple of months (and we are from Melbourne). Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough!! The atmosphere is amazing, always full of people no matter the day of the week. The staff are fantastic, especially David our waiter tonight! Delicious food, we haven’t tried anything we didn’t like.. highly recommend the arrancini balls on the starter menu. Do yourself a favour and eat here!

Really cozy place. Wasn't a big fan of the beer selection, they only had three on tap and one of them was a house beer, but the food was absolutely amazing. You can see the wood fire ovens from the dining room, and if you know anything about pizza, you know that wood fire is what gives pizza the perfect crust! That being said, I had the spaghetti alla marinara, which is seafood. That was the BEST seafood I've had in Sydney to date. Everything was like BUTTER. Calamari, butter. Scallops, butter. Oysters, butter. Everything was FRESH! This place is a solid 5/5. Only thing that could improve is the service, but I'm American, so I'm used to being waited on hand and foot. But that's not to say this staff wasn't attentive. Awesome place, would gladly go again

Great Italian food with great big portions. I had the gnocchi with mushrooms and the house wine, the gnocchi was pretty good and the mushroom sauce was great. Though I would reduce the salt in the dish because the grated parmesan adds to the salt levels. My friend had the salad and it was really good as well
