We were disappointed on a few levels.
The service while friendly was super slow & many basic level mistakes were made. Cocktails had missing ingredients, with our entree & main meals some came out 20mins after others had been served. Even after being reminded about drinks and meals not coming to us... it still took way to long to receive them.
Being Manly Pavilion we had high expectations for the food...again we felt disappointed, not up to the quality & flavour we would have expected.
I have a feeling they were under staffed.

Not only was the food delicious with a spectacular view, but the service was exceptional, specifically the hostess Issy. My boyfriend and I popped in at lunchtime on a busy Saturday seeing if we could make a reservation for dinner knowing that it might be a long shot with availability. Issy was so nice and accomodating and said she was able to squeeze us in. When we arrived later, we had a prime table with a great view! Issy stopped by our table a few times to check in, which was so nice, and I was glad to have the chance to thank her for everything and say what a great night we had :) I hope her manager sees this and passes on the good review, as it’s probably not every day that hospitality workers get the recognition they deserve when service is exceptional — Thank you Issy! :)
I loved the food as well (seafood pasta featured) and the vibe was a lot of fun — we loved the DJ playing disco music. Overall we had such an amazing and memorable date night :) :) thank you!

V. M. K.Went there for my husband's birthday recently. One of the best meals we've had in a long time and outstanding service by the restaurant staff especially Julia. In fact, another special thanks to Mikaela for the efforts she put in to bring out the dessert, she tried to bring it out thrice when he wasn't at the table but waited for the right moment so my husband gets surprised on seeing it. The view, the food, drinks and the service were all spectacular. Would definitely go there again and we recommend this place to everyone for a beautiful experience.

Wheelchair accessible by internal lift which you need to organise with staff as access code needs to be entered from lower wharf entry door to lift. Check if lift is working.

E.We had a dinner here in July after our elopement with our immediate family. We could not have asked for better service. The staff were ansolutely brilliant and the food was incredible. Thank you so much for everything. The day/evening was perfect and we felt truly blessed.

-1 star for main (mushroom gnocchi - not pan fried, sticky, flavorless, poorly developed recipe)
-1 for the dessert (tiramisu only one layer, not enough flavor and tastes too plain. Mango mousse - couldn't detect any mango, added very sweet cherries in syrup which was not in the menu so flavors did not work together at all).
Probably will visit but only once more to try different dishes - maybe the chef had a bad day.
T. H.Great food and wine list. Particularly like the scallops and smaller. After lunch you can sit in the balcony and watch the world do by, right on the water at Manly harbour. Oh nearly forgot to mention the fantastic staff, super friendly and helpful.

I recently held my 50th birthday celebrations at the Manly Pavillion and quite literally had the best and most fun day thanks to the amazing team who looked after us on every level in the most professional and respectful manner.....the food was AMAZING thank you Chef Alessio (whom everyoone loved meeting when he came out during the lunch to introduce himself!) and the staff from Julia the Events Manager QUEEN, who I dealt with in the planning to Teddy and Aaron on the floor who were both INCREDIBLE on the day. I felt so spoilt and had so much fun thanks to everyone who played within the current parameters but in a positive and understanding way so everyone was able to enjoy themselves! Thank you Thank you Team MP for a day I will never forget...worth of 10 stars!!

I didn't love the seafood pasta it was a bit chewy. The burrata came with the tiniest piece of bread so we asked from more and were charged for a while bread basket.

We were served by Mat who was truely amazing, he offered us sun cream because we were out in the sun and even charged my friends phone and took piccys. The service by Mat made the experience.

D. G.I’ve been in this fabulous restaurant located in a private spot in Manly. The view on the balcony is terrific, food and service even more.
The menu offers a vast choice of dishes, personally I tasted and recommend bucatini, tuna and is a must to leave a spot for the tiramisu!

A. P.There is something so relaxing about being in an eating establishment with great water views, diversified menu & great wine & cocktail selection. The waiters were charming, sexy accents & of course attentive. I made wrong choice with my main meal, the Gnocchi as did 2 others with theirs i.e spinach rissotto. The other guests: seafood & beef cheeks, were very happy. Delightful atmosphere, substantial bar area serving moreish cocktails. Parking around the vicinity a real pain in the proverbial, but doable. We had a rather LENGTHY lunch which gives you an idea how comfortable we were at this venue. Available as well, an outdoor relaxed seating area where one can enjoy a cocktail, coffee/tea on a gorgeous sunny day that Sydney is famous for turning on. Definitely returning soon.

The venue is stunning and Julia assisted us with aplomb at every turn in the 12 months leading up to our wedding. The food was delicious, and in plentiful supply. There were more than enough staff to serve us and our guests. We have had nothing but wonderful feedback from our guests and personally, we cannot recommend Manly Pavilion highly enough. They are brilliant and we had an incredible time. Thank you again!

I went for dinner here last Saturday with the husband, but we weren’t blown away. He had steak and chips, I had deep fried Murray Cod.
The steak and chips were very salty, my husband usually covers things with salt, but even he thought it was too much. My food was nice, but it was essentially just a fish on a plate and there didn’t seem to be any nice Asian style sides on the menu (which was quite limited).
It certainly wasn’t bad, the view is great, but at this price point I just feel there are better options in Manly.
A. W.As a longtime Manly local who has never had the opportunity to experience the Manly Pavilion, I am happy to say that it was well worth the wait!
Today a few girlfriends and I enjoyed a belated birthday lunch out on the patio with a stunning view and heaters to keep us warm. The service was great, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We impressed by the gluten free options and varied selection of entrees and mains. I had the Deep Fried Whole Snapper with a side of green beans w/ toasted almonds and the Cherry Ripe for dessert. Everything was perfect!
My friends were equally as happy, we can't wait to come again. Possibly our new favourite patio, summer could not come sooner 😊☀️

G. M.Best gastronomic experience in Sydney. We were amazed by the variety and authenticity of the proposed dishes! Throughout our dinner we had the opportunity to have a chat with Head Chef Alessio Rago, and we really felt the warmth and the true italian vibe in the air! We had a delicious cured meat antipasto and a plate to share of deep fried calamari (with Tapioca flour, unbelievable consistency and taste), the mains were absolutely shocking! Top quality pasta and gnocchi (which were entirely homemade) with perfectly balanced toppings. I can't recommend enough their tiramisu', one of the best deserts I ever had! We definitely be back, thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

J. T.The views are lovely but the food is a bit hit or miss. In fact I got a bit of mild gastro after which could have been a coincidence. Service was slow and careless, felt like some of the waitstaff were backpackers. Glad I tried it though but doubt I'll be back any time soon for dinner. I'll probably give lunch a go if anything for the view.
J. C.Firstly it's great to see this restaurant reopen in a superb spot overlooking the harbour.
Whilst we were really impressed with the service the overall food was just not good enough. My T-bone steak was the smallest I have ever seen and served with a dollop of potato and rather bizarrely a piece of lemon. It was something you might get served by your mother to which you would smile sweetly rather than at a nice restaurant. My wife had the snapper and whilst it was cooked well, lacked any sauce and was accompanied with some rather bland slice radish and parsley. The signature pavlova dessert was excellent however.
In terms of wines the Chandon rose we had was very good and not unreasonable at $55 but the wine list lacks a breadth of range at the $45-$60 mark I.e. Go for the "house " or it gets too expensive. Which is mis aligned with the overall bistro pricing level.
So in summary, ambiance, views, service - great. Food needs more work. I give this review to support the new owners to get their act together early here. We really want to go back time and time again with friends as it's a lovely spot but the food needs to be better in terms of both quality and presentation.

We went there for a birthday party, just 2 negative aspects: very pricey the service to cut the cake (7$ each), really overpriced even for manly; the other problem was the waiter, beard blonde guy, that didn't apply any discount for cocktails and drinks as advertised on the "sunday sunset"after 4pm (around 4$ discount on each one, we got around 7 cocktail druring the happy hour time), I tried to point it out the first time when I paid the bill but I've been told it was just for beer and wine no coktail, after that I went back to him with the actual promotion and the only answer I got was that he forgot about it.. that's been very rude, we all felt ripped off, and I'll make sure that next time we go back we don't get served from him after this bad experience.

From the moment I met Julia Lorenti I knew I could let go, she was amazing in all her suggestions, feedback and accommodating from the moment we met her to well after the wedding. The decor is perfect for the location and the Staff were very happy and helpful. 😊 Update winter 2018 - went here and tried the new winter menu and there were some great additions. The warm anti-pasto platter was delicious as was the crispy pork and the snapper. Had the most amazing Brioche Pudding and a Tiramisu for dessert. - Noticeably inconsistent servings. We understand that it is impossible to achieve the same serving, but I stress on the word 'noticeably' here. The inconsistency was evident for all patrons.
Two pairs of guests ordered the same dish.
1. Scarce sauce served for one of the Beef Cheeks. We spooned some sauce from one to even out the other
2. Fewer pippies served in one of he linguine dishes
- Cakeage is pricey at $7pp, but they do serve cream and canned fruit with your cake which we appreciated.
- One side was forgotten and did not get served. We had to inform them it was missed.
- Parking can be a challenge in Manly
D. L.Great views over Sydney Harbour east to Manly and south east to Sydney heads. An old art deco building. Get a table indoors, by the window, if its blowing a gale. If winds are light, outside is great. Friendly staff and nice food. You dont have to dress up, although will not look out of place if you do. Enjoy!

M. S.I am surprised and disappointed that Elizabeth Meryment -critic for Telegraph is so scathing about the new Manly Pavilion. I had a meal there and loved it. The food was fresh and great flavours. The location, breathtaking and the new refurbishment beautiful.
It is obvious that this critic hates good food, hates the scenery and has her own personal grip with the chef. It is disgusting that these paid journalists are so jaded and obviously have no clue as to what they are talking about.
The 90's was not a good food decade, but there is a pub in Bathurst serving the cuisine, maybe you would be happier there Mary.

We met with Paul and his professional team 13 months prior to our big Wedding Day. Right from the start Paul and his team carried out the plan with ease. Paul was amazing providing me the support required with my gazillion silly queries.
From the Co-ordination, patience and overall experience, the food was excellent, the location was superb with magnificent views overlooking beautiful Manly. From beginning to end it truly was our dream come true. With so 170 local, interstate and overseas visitors, many never having been to Manly before- they are still speaking of the amazing evening and gorgeous venue! Thank You!

(finally a good list and priced according to the venue) although as some of you will know from my other reviews its always odd when you get 2x Local Aussie glass of golden goodness beautifully poured n cold Carly D in a really tall and fancy glass.
Just feels weird - anyhow not a bad thing.

list looked decent. GG was sippin on 3x Glasses of "Skip Jack" SavB so must be well drinkable, as she has a v refined pallet ;)

As a massive fan of Calimari/Squid/Octopus etc, I thought...Wait for it... BIG CALL: the BEST CALIMARI I've ever had!
Again from my other reviews you will see its not my first rodeo around hospitality. But yeah, was a taste to renemba.
The Sourdough ($5 - how do you go wrong) was a nice lil appetiser too.
Mains
Gnocchetti was said to be good by Georgi (not her first eat either), I did taste it and tend to agree.
I had the Braised Beef Cheeks.
Thought the meat was very tender and Al Dente with great taste.
The meal was 20% to small for my personal liking however due to my many amazing wonderful and at times truly incredible athletic pursuits I do tend to eat more than your Mr. Joe Average.
When a bloke orders a beefy dish in a restaurant they are looking to be fairly full afterwards, not still thinking about food before a rugby game!

I think is good value.
The fitout is warm and cosy comfortable with the couch (my fave) actually having a perfect slope. This is harder to find than you may think. Hugo's does it well and very few others.
Open Views across Manly, I think they'll be ready to change the summer social landscape soon.
