Always a busy space, on-site coffeehouse, patisserie, pizzeria, bar, and The Gardens kitchen with seating in the centre. Great menu - food tasty and well portioned. Service was not rushed; no wonder locals wait in line on busy days to get a table.

Good coffee but the service has dropped. I feel like the staff are trained NOT to smile or be kind. The just use hand gestures to usher you in and out. The food is so so at best. The sweets look great in the case but I could only taste sugar. Not worth the high price. I liked the place when they first opened, such a Shame.

Attended lunch at Merchants of Ultimo at Broadway shopping centre. Located on ground level, Bay Street entrance. It was the lunch rush so Partner and I were greeted and notified that there will be a waiting time. It wasn’t long till we were ushered to our seats. We ordered our meals. The poke bowls did not disappoint, beautiful to look at and taste even amazing. Under pressure with just the one register and Covid-19 restrictions. I believe the staff were very professional & efficient. Highly recommend!

Amazing selection of desserts and savoury! I’ve taken a star off because the service was very unwelcoming and I was made to feel bad for requiring a refund when I was double charged. Lemon meringue was outstanding so hopefully it was a one off experience

Solid coffee and lasagne place. We were not sure about the bread for the lasagne. It was good bread but we are not sure why it came with the lasagne. Short rib is a little on the dry and chewy side. Otherwise a great brunch place. The pizza was good too

Next time you're in Broadway, do your sweet tooth a favour & pick up a Danish from Merchants. Every time I walk past, my feet automatically turn to walk in. I can only talk to you about their sweets; the aforementioned Danish's are sublime. You have a choice of apple, banana, cherry; I could go on, but the fact that I'm making this effort should tell you it's absolutely worth a visit. They also do home-made pizza, fabulous coffee & have an area to eat in. But do your taste-buds a favour, grab a Danish while you're there.

This food collective consisting of 5 very different offerings is a lovely new space & addition to the newly renovated Broadway shopping centre. It offers a deli, fresh food, bakery, Pizza Mario & Leave it to B. On this occasion, the beautiful array of cakes from Leave it to B caught my eye and it was so difficult to choose. Everything looked beautiful & I chose the classic Lemon Meringue which was sweet yet tangy & had beautiful clouds of meringue on top. The Jasmin has Jasmin tea infused sponge & layers of berry mousse. Its light & fresh. The pastries were also delicious especially the escargot which had a good amount of raisins & custard twisted inside. Next time I will be back for Pizza Mario & some more delectable cakes to take home.

We visited this restaurant twice - once for dinner and once for lunch. We made our own salad and made our own pasta, and both dishes were absolutely delicious! The ingredients are so fresh and the portion sizes are filling. The banana bread is also really good. I highly recommend this place for a wholesome meal.

The 5-star rating is for the dessert I had and the salad bar. Haven't tried everything there so can't speak for the pizza or coffee. I love this food court concept because there's something that pleases everyone, has table service and it's an integrated cafe. The salad bar has a design-your-own salad with so many fresh ingredients to choose from, including meat from the carvery next to it. I might be easily impressed but I loved how the corn was shaved from a cob rather than canned. The lemon dessert was heavenly. It looks like typical meringue but the white stuff is quite a marshmallow consistency. Sweet yet it offsets the tartness of the lemon base perfectly. The crust is a good complement too.

If you don’t know what you want to eat but not in a mood for food court, here’s one of the good option. You can choose health salad, burger, pizza or from bakery. Patisseries are good taste and not that much crazy price.

Been going here for a while and my biggest disappointment is the ham and cheese croissant. They have freshly-made croissant but the ham and cheese one is made from day old croissant that are typically toasted to hide the fact that they aren't freshly-made. A very common trick in Sydney. No surprise that they were offering a special with coffee+ham & cheese croissant not too long ago. Toasting a day old croissant results in a rubbery and oily texture. They also place the ham and cheese croissant in the fridge and if you ask them to not toast it, it's cold and hard. Croissant are full of butter and if you put them in the fridge they go hard. A ham and cheese croissant is best with freshly-made crispy croissant with a soft texture placed at room temperature. That's the whole point of a croissant. Why serve it otherwise! Some of the staff are cocky, others are quite nice.

I ordered a Piadina and they didn't have problems to let me choose the ingredients, even if it didn't follow the standard menu. The taste was good, maybe the olive oil covered a little more the other ingredients but the main thing I want to say is that is not a real Piadina. The Piadina base is something totally different, this was just a normal pizza base closed as a piadina. But again, the taste was not bad, I just expected to eat a different meal than what they gave to me. Maybe they should change the name in "Piadina style". The desserts look amazing, not just delicious but also pieces of art. I loved the consistency of the meringue on my lemon tart. In other places is too much soft, here is harder but in a nice way. The lemon cream inside doesn't cover the whole base, it's like an half sphere in the centre, so quite hard as well. The service was good.

Their hot drinks are great. Ordered a Matcha Green Tea Latte and a Chai Latte from Nero Brew within the Merchants of Ultimo for takeaway and they are both good! Located right at the entrance of the mall upon riding the escalator. A good stop if you are shopping around Broadway Sydney or somewhere in Ultimo.

MoU presents a stunning and welcoming design. The range of small eateries, posing as separate businesses, are diverse and all delicious. The setting and staff are always welcoming, even with kids. And despite being situated at the entrance to Broadway, there is always space and minimal noise. I've sat in here and worked for several hours when they weren't busy and they didn't mind. I've brought my 3 yr old in and he's run about - no worries. This place is almost a forgotten space by the masses ascending to the food court above; but for me, the prices are good and the ambience great. If this were in the tram sheds it'd be the most popular place by far.

After sometimes, than I come back to visit broadway, and had piccolo from Nero’s. To dine in, it will cost you $4.20, take away maybe cheaper. Good coffee though. From last visit some years back. .... Leave it to B" there's the name of pastries, cakes and other assorted bakes along with other merchants. Nero's brew provides you with coffee and other beverages, The garden will have a healthier options for you and for the meat eater, Henry's block will sort your hunger! For pizza lover, you won't miss this funky pizza join, Mario's What will you choose?

Came here with 2 girlfriends for lunch. Was walking around for half an hour and finally found a decent place to eat and so glad we came here! The food and wine were delicious. The chefs were very friendly and genuinely cared about their job and were clearly passionate about what they do. The lady managers around the restaurant were professional but also kind. I've been here twice now and I still don't believe words do any justice to the food here... In terms of mains, I've only ever had the Italian (pizza and pasta) and, both times, the dishes served before me were nothing short of fantastic. The portions are a perfect size and the flavour is what dreams are made of - purely delicious. The desserts here are everything but plain; fancy in both presentation and flavour. The service here is also fantastic, the staff all seem friendly and attentive. Seriously, the carbonara I had the last time I was here still haunts my dreams, beckoning me back there to delight, once again, in such a masterfully cooked dish.

The portions are decent and filling - my order came with a serve of some delicious freshly baked bread which I will be back for, and which more than made up for the smaller portions. Food came out quickly and was very fresh, the pasta had that gorgeous handmade mouthfeel. I had a pitaya smoothie which was not terrible but def not what I expected given the colour. It was very creamy, my friend described it as “coconut water but creamy”. I would preferred more of a fruit note from a fruit smoothie but 🤷🏻‍♀️that’s just me. They don’t split bills FYI. -prices- Pitaya Smoothie - $12 Pappardelle w Wagyu Bolognese - $20 Bread - free (came with the pasta)

Cafe Lunch with a toddler can be great, and at times it can be something else... Approaching the cafe, we were quickly acknowledged by several staff. Despite being the busy 12pm peak, staff had us settled with a warm welcome and unhurried demeanour. Vanessa was totally amazing, having anticipated our every possible need and checking our preference at appropriate intervals, be is a high chair, plastic table setting, or additional plates. The experience at Merchants of Ultimo started off well as we were greeted in a friendly manner by the girl behind the patisserie counter (not the waitress). We chose our cake and the girl pointed to a seat that we could take and advised the waitress would be right over. The waitress was indeed right with us, however she also brought with her an awful, abrasive, rude and condescending attitude. She seemed offended that we had sat down and that she had to serve us which I believe is what she is paid for. This attitude in a very promising new business is the ENEMY of success and mr/mrs proprietor if there is one thing you could change about the business, I would urge you to change her. With the other reviews mentioning this waitress, I don't think it will take you long to work out who it is. Please fix this so that I can return and give you 5 stars!

Amazing restaurant!! Had my birthday here and every single person commented on how incredible their food was and that they were all planning a return visit (with or without me!). I love it.... Can't wait to go back and try the next incredible thing!!! And all the food is freshly made in front of you... And the pizza people are actually from Naples!! Visited twice during our stay in Sydney. The first time I was blown away by the patisserie selection and attention to detail they had on display. These guys could give Europe’s best a run for their money, trust me I’m in the business! Our second visit we had a salad each and these were equally as impressive. The dining space is quite cosy, but it’s not really an issue. They have a huge selection of foods available, so it’s likely to please everybody in your party. All in all it’s a thumbs up from us.

However, what annoys me (more than once) is that the staff tend to ask you how things are going when you ARE EATING. Honestly, this is just not appropriate... How would you expect people to answer you when they have food in their mouth? The other thing that makes me getting fussy was that a staff swept the floor while there were quite a few customers sitting and eating... I get it that it’s important to keep the place clean but there’s nothing I could see that needs to be cleaned immediately. And hey, I really don’t want to eat/inhale dust with my beautiful lunch. Come on, these are just the basics of hospitality.
