My partner and I came for dinner; We both had the steak of the day, polenta chips, and a red wine suggested by our server. One of the best meals we've had in ages. Well portioned, well cooked, well seasoned and the wine matched perfectly. Happily adding to the rest of the five star reviews, will definitely be back.

Fine restaurant. There's a take away / food court window a few metres away. Everyone in my party seemed happy with their food. One had a rubber band in her food. Didn't want to make a deal out of it, so I didn't push the issue. My steak was fine. Seemed like something missing on the plate. Good we had some chips to share. Nice staff.

My friend and I both LOVED our Friday dinner at Mordeo! We each had entree / main / dessert + a cocktail, and our expectations were exceeded on entrees and mains. We had : - the melted cheese + the chorizo croquettes for entrees - the steak of the day with smoked potatoe mash (OMG that's my discovery of they month, it was incredible!!!) and the mushroom raviolis (I could go back just for this baby!) for mains - creme brulee + chocolate cake for desserts. Desserts were really tasty. Loved the creaminess of the creme brulee, and the mascarpone cream was great with the chocolate cake. They were really good, but if I could go back for only one item from the menu again, my choice would go for entrees or mains. Service was excellent, never waited too long for anything, but were not rushed either. Waiters were friendly and efficient. Being one of the first tables, we apreciated being in a quiet corner instead of right at the front (which some restaurants often do with the first tables booked) We thought it was fairly priced, especially for the quality and quantity we got, so we will definitely be back ! Came here for a work lunch, prices seem very reasonable and service is great! Lovely setting, located in the undercover area of the Deutsche Bank building, not loud like some other places and with good quality southern European offerings. Had the Italian sausage risotto and a semifreddo to finish, with some wine.

Mamma mia, we will come again!! Mordeo has become our favourite bistro and bar in Sydney city. Our niece took us there a month ago and we came back with a dear, dear friend yesterday. Mordeo’s staff and genuine commitment to pleasing patrons equals the cuisine menu and beverage list which is SECOND TO NONE. Exceptional is the right word to use when one talks about Mordeo; dining there is a wonderful experience. Viva southern Europe cuisine!! ;)

Went there for lunch the other day. I ordered the lunch special being the "Yemista". Being Greek myself, i was curious how it would taste. It's not like mum's, but it's close and has a modern spin on it. I suggest to order bread to accompany the meal. The Negroni aren't bad either. The service is constant and never short of making sure that you're serviced well. It's a cool little spot for lunch. I'm keen to go back and try their other dishes. My husband and I came here for lunch using a TheFork voucher. We ordered the Crispy Pork Ribs, Funghi Ravioli and the Gamberi Pizza. The Crispy Pork Ribs were UNBELIEVABLE! It was a delicious take on pork ribs - the meat was falling off the bone and its crispy crust was so tasty. The puffed cracker was a highlight. The Funghi Ravioli was creamy and tasty, with big chunks of mushrooms scattered on the plate. Yum! The Gamberi Pizza was probably the least impressive, due to its very tiny prawns. They were wild caught QLD prawns according to the menu. The pizza dough was nice but the prawns need to be bigger and more generous. Overall, I’d return again to try some of their other items.

Was excited to visit based on reviews but unfortunately this place disappointed! Wonderful serene and convenient location. Hummus and bread was lovely as was the halloumi toast. However, we ordered a napolitana pasta without dairy which unfortunately arrived too late, and with dairy - so we had to wait again for it to be made, and by this time we were quite full and ready to leave. When it arrived the pasta was extremely bland. However the waiters were very sweet and service was top notch, and they provided us a free salad for having to wait! I would visit again but advise against the vegan menu!

I love eating at this cafe in Sydney. The menu has a great selection of food and drinks on offer. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They like to have a chat to customers and make them feel welcome. The cafe itself is in a terrific location with lovely water features nearby and wide open spaces between tables which is perfect for social distancing in 2020. I have always enjoyed having meals here both alone and with friends. I will definitely be coming back again soon.

I highly recommend Mordeo and will be back. Having dined at Mordeo regularly over the past several years, it was a no-brainer that we booked Mordeo for our business - Picaluna's Christmas Party last week (8/12/21). Our host Michela was just the best! Extremely friendly and attentive, with no request too much trouble... quite a feat, given our rowdy crew of some 40 people! The food was delicious as ever, the atmosphere jovial and conducive to a good time. Thank you to all the Mordeo crew for a terrific time.

Mordeo at Home is unbelievable value and quality! Mordeo has always been one of my favourite spots in Sydney. It’s atmosphere as a bar and European bistro has always felt so homely with its great staff and service. And they haven’t let unprecedented times affect them!! Now you can order their high-end food and drink to keep you comfy and happy at home. For isolation date night, we ordered succulent veal ossobuco with soft polenta and a green herb salsa for two, PLUS a delicious side of fennel and pumpkin seed coleslaw, AND a serving of Jamon that we had with some ash Brie for an entree. All for $69. If that wasn’t enough, we received a free bottle of wine on pickup, a Nero D’Avola that had been expertly paired with our meal by the bar team. All we had to do was sous vide the pre-prepared meal, and it was STUNNING. Seriously the best meal I’ve had in months. Thank you thank you thank you for this ingenious service. Can not recommend it enough, will definitely be back for more.

I had two lovely experiences here recently - an end of year lunch with my work team, and lunch with my mum and grandmother. The lunch with my grandmother was particularly special, and I want to thank and acknowledge the lovely staff at Mordeo who were so accommodating of her requirements. She has been receiving treatment on and off for mouth cancers for the last seven years, this has had a pretty devastating effect on her mouth and teeth and consequently comfort. She finds it very hard to find suitable foods to eat away from home, and hasn't eaten a social meal out in a number of years now. The waitstaff and chef were so kind in making some adjustments that she needed to be able to enjoy a normal meal out with us, which we all appreciated so much. Beyond this - all of our meals were delicious. Could not recommend highly enough.

2.8 - Came here the first time with colleagues for drinks. I asked for a juice, they had none. No cranberry, nor Orange or Apple or the Watermelon they offered. I asked for something non-alcoholic, and was made to feel like I was an alien. Not happy. They could have offered a mocktail even. Star went down to 0. However, had coffee here in another instance and felt that it was ok. Coffee tasted not bad, service was also ok, so I have given it 2.8 ie. 3 stars. Will see if my experience improves.

Not vegan friendly - website says "We also offer a range of gluten-free, Vegetarian and Vegan style dishes." On that basis, my vegan friend and I went here for dinner. There was not a single thing on the menu that was vegan. We asked the waitress and she advised to pick a vegetarian dish and they would omit the dairy. She chose a pumpkin salad without labneh, which she enjoyed, but paid the same price and was not offered a substitute for the labneh. In my view, that is not really catering for vegans. We both felt very misled by the website.

Matching food and drink is a thing that you usually associate food and wine. How about matching food and beer? No I'm not talking kebabs and pies, rather a more refined experience. The good people of Mordeo Bistro and Bar with Stone and Wood teamed up to bring such an experience. Mordeo located on the corner of Phillip and Hunter St in the vicinity of Chifley towers. Making Mordeo the perfect location for this event to take place. Mordeo has a stocked bar with beer on tap and is a great spot for after work drinks. There is also space for dining including a separate space for a group or an intimate corporate dining experience. We are familiar with the quality award winning boutique beer produced by Stone and Wood. We are now thankfully familiar with the amazing southern European Bistro style cuisine that Mordeo has on offer. On this occasion, Mordeo chefs masterfully created a 5 course menu that encompassed flavours associated with beer and its ingredients, presenting details of each dish to all in attendance. This followed by Oscar from Stone and Wood also interacting with the diners, providing an education on the brewing process, ingredients used and tasting notes of each beer. The meal starting off with seafood dishes. The amuse-bouche was a snapper cevice seved with fresh seaweed, salmon roe and lime. This dish paired beautifully with the green coast lager with full malt flavour with a subtle hops finish. The next dish the sweet seafood flavour of seared scallops with toasted almonds served atop of a the rich silky galaxy hop smoked cauliflower puree, so good it should be bottled. This almost being the case with this dish being served with one of our favouite ales the pacific ale brewed using Australian Barley, wheat and the same galaxy hops used in the cauli puree. For the next part of this dream pairing moving to protein sourced from the land. With a duck ragu tagliatelle slow cooked with the garden ale, juniper, wild mushrooms and bay leaf. A full flavoured dish made with handmade pasta Mordeo is known for. Paired with malt of garden ale with a flora- citrus aroma which was also used in the dish it was served with. Then came the Berkshire pork belly sourced from Byron Bay where Stone and Wood is located. The pork was melt in your mouth slow cooked with the cloud catcher ale and served with braised fennel hearts and a rosmary hop jus. The meal came to a perfect finish with a decadent dark chocolate tart with burnt honey, laveder and dark malt Gelato. This paired with the dark rich malty Jasper ale. Thanks to Mordeo for hosting the event, the amazing food, great service and hospitality. We hope Stone and Wood continue with these events and we recommend keeping an eye out for such events by signing up to the Stone and Wood newsletter.

Booked a table for friends and myself to catch-up, and what better way to do so by swinging by our old watering hole? From start to finish, service has been good. Our servers have been nothing but friendly and gracious. Drinks were standard; food was good. The gamberi pizza could’ve had more prawns in it for what we pay, but taste is good. Overall 4/5 for food, ambience and service. Would return :)
