Comments of Pizza Fritta 180

We went to there for my friends birthday party and we are totally stunned by the delicious food and great service! I felt like we are in an Italian community and everyone is so passionate and friendly, especially the chief who arranged meal for us.
This is the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to so far and definitely gonna back to there a lot!
K. B.
Lively, happy place with quick and friendly service. Food is good - simple Italian menu featuring pizza folded like calzone and fried - comes out puffed up. We scored a nice table inside without a booking on Friday night - they keep the tables turning over but no pressure. Large outside seating area would be great on a sunny day. Food prices quite reasonable, wine prices on the high side but that’s how it is these days - second cheapest bottle $50. We will definitely be back.

Ooh this place was delicious! They only do like 6 things but they do them sooo well. They’ll cut the pizza for you if you ask 😂 haha
R. H.
Fantastic experience for new concept that I have never tried before. Fried Pizza!!! what a genius idea! And turn out it is super tasty. The extra layer of dough on top and the flash fried makes this pizza superbly delicious. We also tried their special of the day which was spaghetti ragu and it was also delicious. Will definitely go back for more!
M. S.
We had the Nona Rosa and it was delicious! The filling is tasty and the fried pizza dough isn’t as heavy as you would expect. They have a generous drinks menu and service is efficient and friendly. Only feedback is that the restaurant provide serrated knives as butter ones don’t cut pizza easily, mind you it’s able to be awareness by hand if that’s your choice

Really loved this place, very friendly staff and lively atmosphere. We rocked up without a reservation and stood in the line for a bit, but it moved quickly and the waiter said it wasn’t a problem to find something. Great selection from a diverse menu and the pizza fritta is hard to find in Australia but this is the authentic one just like in Italy and how mamma used to make. I like this place for its atmosphere and its drinks, I would like to come back here

We went there for the first time last night as we were curious about the fried pizza and the place did not disappoint. The service was excellent and can't fault it at all. The friendliness of all the staff is fabulous. The choices are great. We had to the Allegra, Pucinella and Potato Croquette, they were divine. The place is fresh, clean and cheerful with both indoor and outdoor seating. The only negative thing - I can't find a fried pizza with pineapple in it. Pineapple belongs in all pizza right ? !! Love the place and would visit again.

I think that my friends may have built this place up in my head a little too much, it was sold to me as having really good sides and share plates, along with of course, the fried pizza.
I also think that it might be a 4 or a 5 for an awesome summer time hang. Tonight was super cold and all the doors and window were still open which made it kind of chilly.
I get it's a street food puzzle so that's why theirs stools as the seats and it's aiming to be a Napoli street scene, but for me it's kind of stick in between a restaurant and Street food, trying to be both but being neither at the same time.
The pizza fritta was good, I'm sure the one we had in Naples only tasted better because we were on an awesome Italian holiday at the same time, the service was good and attentive, but there were only two other tables seated when we went.
The menu is reasonably priced (~$30ish/p) and the drink selection is good.
Will definitely be back, but will probably wait until a nice warm summers day and try a few of their Aperol spritz too!
C.
One of the absolute best places to eat in Sydney. Great atmosphere, good prices and wait times, friendly staff... and amazing food!!! Definitely a staple, have been twice, will go again.
B. G.
Seems like a simple idea that just can’t go wrong , fried pizza. And definitely pizza fritta does not disappoint. We ordered a large and small one ,(for two people ) which was a lot ! But they were exactly as you would expect, I really appreciated that the ingredients were of great quality and even though the pizza was fried it didn’t feel super oily and greasy (although it probably is). We ordered the Elena and Allegra. My personal favorite was the Allegra , the nduja just gave it that extra spicy kick that complimented the delicious cheese. The Elena is also good but I preferred the other one. We also ordered a limoncello spritz and a melograno spritz. Out of those the limoncello spritz was 👌. Overall great food , we sat outside and had good service.
C. F.
I’ve been in this place few weeks ago and I had a good experience. They make baked folded pizza, fried for a minute before to be served.
We were sitting outside and we ordered “Nonna Rosa” with salami, ricotta cheese, provola cheese, tomato, pepper and “Pulcinella” with ham, ricotta cheese, mozzarella, tomato, pepper. They were both delicious. I was not sure if taking the large size or not because I was really hungry. We chose the regular one and actually it was enough to fill up our stomachs.
Polite staff and low prices.
M. B.
Amazing pizza fritta, couldn't recommend it more. Get there (very) hungry otherwise you might not be able to finish the large one!
Friendly staff as well, always here to help, explain the menu or accommodate your request.
Very happy after being there twice in just a few months 🍕
R. T.
We didn't have lunch or breaky there but we did have coffees and nice desserts and I can tell you it was absolutely delicious. As you can see in the photos but and there is a but! It's quite over priced for this kinda of place! Not to mention the noise from the traffic and cars as the venue right next to the main street, so if you are seated outside what you see is traffic and hear all the noise which is not a good sight or even sound to hear while you are enjoying your meal.
Other than that I do recommend this lovely venue.
Disclaimer: the staff are so wonderful and they will try to accommodate your request as much as they can.
Enjoy
C. X.
I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in PIZZA FRITTA 180. From the entree to the main dish, the quality and tastes of everything was outstanding. Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat here.
N. V.
The food here was incredible. I believe I ordered the nonna Rosa, and this was delicious. Never had something quite like this, will definitely be back! Service was great, and they also had a nice Italian lager
N. S. J.
Loved the entree-rice balls with egg plant.
For mains we ordered vegan fried pizza. Being vegetarian.. instead of vegan.. we should have ordered a vegetarian pizza. We didn't enjoy it a lot..
Overall a good experience, loved the service, ambience and our entree.
E. D.
Delicious, fresh food that was reasonably priced and came quickly.
Wine was delicious, burrata was creamy and fresh, with a lovely basil drizzle. Fried pizza wasn’t greasy in the slightest and wasn’t as filling as we thought (as in, too much) - just the right size. The large looked considerably bigger and think we would have struggled with it! Could have used a little bit more tomato, but otherwise really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.
T. B.
One of the most authentic Italian restaurants in the CBD. Here you will find the bot usual and very well executed antipasto and nice fried pizza. I liked very much.
L. H.
The food was delicious. I will definitely be coming back. The waiters were friendly, however a bit pushy. We ordered two dishes for three people and the waitress said that it would not be enough even though I thought it would be but we trusted her words and got another dish. It was too much food. Then we finished up our food and were chatting when we were asked three times, “Would you like a coffee? Another drink?”, obviously telling us to hurry up however it was quite unnecessary as there were still a lot of spots free.
Overall food was impressive, however the “pushiness” of waiters costed a star for them.
K.
Delicious fried pizza! Not heavy as expected. Quite light. Love the funky Italian style fit outs. Cosy and friendly.
H. Y.
Had the idea it would be like a street food snack but was surprised it felt more like a dine in experience. The dough was very light and crispy, lots of variety in the fillings. Got the nduja and pork belly, both very filling - pork belly being incredibly rich! Do feel like the price could be a bit lower for the type of food it is. Positive and unique experience.
C. D.
Pizza Fritta 180 is one of the newest additions to Surry Hills located on the corner of Crown and Foveaux Street. Perfect spot to grab a quick bite to eat or to people watch.
The food here is fantastic, the pizza fritta obviously being their main item is essentially a deep fried calzone, and they also have a Nutella dessert version! The calamari was also a winner and the anti pasti selection is fantastic.
Definitely one to check out!
L. Z.
Exceptional customer service! My friend had birthday there and the vibe is pumping. Every dish tastes on point and it's the second time we visit.
Highly recommended.
Big thanks to the chef.
M. P.
There is no language to describe such unique masterpieces! Not just high quality tasty ingredients, but definitely a familiar environment, experience, culture, love for the tradition: try once and definitely you will come back the week after!
A. S.
Very delicious, and very great service! So friendly, happy to help. Limoncello spritz was fun. Fried pizza super yum. Endive salad wasn’t quite what we expected bc it was warm and cooked. Some more fresh veggies or salads on the menu to accompany the fried pizza would be great. Veg and vegan options are great!
J. C.
Best pizzeria in sydney, hands down. Food 10/10, service 10/10 propper pizza Napolitano. Carlo the Roman waiter will take care of you, also Alessandra is amazing! Go Monday to Wednesday for very personal service and beat the crowd!!! Cheap, full of flavour, and just an amazing experience. Go there
A. F.
I love this place, actually I bit surprised that the rating is what it is. The food deserves 10 stars, as the staff and the beverage! I can’t wait you guys open again!! Please let me know so I can run 🙏🏼 keep it up!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
C. S.
had my birthday here. unique food - fried folded pizza - which ive never had elsewhere before. they got my friends vegan order wrong 3 times (they only had 1 vegan option) which i couldn't understand so when we asked them to cut it open to check on the 3rd time it was actually correct so they gave it back to us. standard price for food and drinks. got a free shot which was nice 👍🏻 would consider coming back here but not my first choice. great ambiance.
G.
@pizzafritta180 absolutely amazing ... like super yum and great espresso .. highly recommended
l. y.
We tried pulcinella pizza and frittura mista from antipasti. They were amazing so fresh and delicious, lovely staff, so friendly and although it was really busy their smile never disappeared. Will come back definitely and Highly recommended
K. T.
Pretty good service and authentic Italian style flash-fried pizza will definitely entice you with their range of great menu and awesome range of wines, perfectly complementing your meal :) Recommend the ham pizza :)
l. p.
We had a magical Monday night dinner at Pizza Fritta! The staff in particular were so welcoming, accommodating and warm on arrival. We had the delicious antipasti platter to start- spectacular presentation and so abundant! Christina, our energetic and simply delightful waitress, looked after us so well and was happy to guide us through her suggestions and recommendations. She was the highlight of our evening, cracking jokes, being genuine and making us feel comfortable and lively as we feasted and drank spritzers. I’d never had that style of pizza before, so it was particularly novel and indulgent! Looking forward to next time!
D. A.
Service was excellent and the food was good value for money. However, this was the first time I tried this style of pizza and unfortunately I won't be back in a hurry - I just found the frying of the pizza made the whole thing a bit too greasy and my pizza was quite dry and lacking in flavour inside. May just be my personal taste, but I tried!
V. V.
Love it. Great service. Slightly different but great pizza. The mussels are next level. The vibe is great.
K. M.
Quality food and friendly service with a great atmosphere. Would definitely come again!
S. I.
Pizza fritta its an amazing place to share a nice meal with your friends.
Beside making an unbelievable tasty, crunchy pizza, Marco the pizza maker is a very friendly person.
Francesca and Cristina the waiters gave us an amazing service the all night, being very attentive and friendly.
Thanks for a very nice experience
A.
Amazing experience, my first time eating fried pizza. Our waitress was a Spanish girl, sadly didn't ask her name but she was fantastic and didn't make me feel slightly embarrassed after I dropped a mussel in my glass of wine! Will be back.
F. J.
What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Great location. AMAZING food......highly recommend the zucchini flowers and the Nonna Rosa pizza is to die for.
And if you’re lucky enough to have Cristina as your hostess then it’s your lucky day!
M. V.
The best service and great food! This is not your typical deep fried pizza from those cheap chains, it is an authentic style from Italy. The small size looks like a puffed up pide, and the larger size looks almost like a puffed up papadam. When you cut into it, it deflates and you are mesmerised by the theatre and delicious fillings. I had their vegan option and it was delicious!
R. S.
Delicious pizza. Seasoned well. And good ricotta cannoli
N. B.
Amazing staff and service and even better food! An incredible Italian experience
T. H.
One of the most authentic Italian places in Surry. Super chill with great music to compliment an affordable but exquisite dine out experience! Great place!
S. L.
Wow. Highly recommended.
The pizza is next level and unlike anything we have had before. Started with the anitpasto, was delicious. Staff really friendly and helpful with the menu.
We had a great time, will be back again.

Ahhhh Pizza Fritta 180, the restaurant that truly caught my girlfriend and I by surprise. The initial experience, a year or so ago, was unfortunately plagued by a sense of survival from the drastic experience at a local cat cafe - a perfect moment to realise one’s allergy towards them - but one that also remained with me long after. We were surprised in the manner that the pizzas came in, undoubtedly unorthodox to this ignorant fellow, but fascinating and mouth-watering nonetheless. The experience was refreshing.
It was only recently where we found ourselves once again piercing through the upward terrain of Surry Hills, leaving us with a great deal of exhaustion and hunger - the decision to intermittently fast did not help in this instance. Exploring the suburb once again did bring us back to the land of familiarity, with the restaurant back again on our radar. This time, instead of the hustle and bustle of the dinner crowd, we were treated to the calming traffic of lunch.
Opening up their compact, but gorgeous, menu allowed us to be treated to the wonderful photos of Sophia Loren - a sight that tickled my cinephile sensibilities. Gazing beyond the acting legend was the selection of food, all of which were appetising. Deciding to let my girlfriend steer the wheel on what we would be having, the decision ultimately came down to the “Prosciutto & Buffalo Mozzarella” and the “Elena” - the latter a Pizza Fritta that is composed of pork cheek, provolone cheese, ricotta & pepper. With a second time around, there is always this caution that one has towards one’s expectations, whether such could live up to its own. In this regard, I can definitely say that the experience drew us into it even further.
The food, whilst not entirely generous for the price one pays, is refined. The pizza offerings act as more of a bigger brother to the mainstream counterpart and provide one with a combination of flavours that are rarely explored. I noted that Kat and I just kept on going in consuming these dishes, with an eventual conclusion to the entire thing feeling appropriately full but not heavily stuffed; this is stated without a hint of disappointment. Not to mention, this was an experience that took place on the outdoor tables of the restaurant, leaving us with a warm and calming view of the park right across the street. I would also like to note that the waitress that served us was lovely, enthusiastic, considerate, and prompt.
Perhaps I didn’t drench this with enough hyperbole to warrant the generous rating that comes with this write-up but one cannot deny that I only have positivity to provide for this restaurant. I only hope that it wouldn’t be a year anymore before my next return.
A. M.
The food is absolutely delicious😍 staff is great as well, will definitely come back when you guys reopen
M. D.
Unique and real italian from Napoli. I am italian and I never tried this variant of "pizzafritta". In my region, Puglia, you can choose al forno (baked) or fritto (fried).
A very nice surprise to find something so typical and geniune italian in Sydney, as if it was Italia.
Excellent service as well, fast and customer centric.
Strongly recommend and definitely not just because I'm biased ;)
O. B.
The best Italian food I have had in ages. Super cool staff that are such happy, family like people. Didn’t wait too long for food, we were checked on a lot and had great convos with the staff. 10/10 recommend for anyone who is as in love with Italian culture as me.
L. J.
Easily my favourite restaurant in Sydney.
Pizza Fritta is like a home away from home.
The food is flawless, the produce is so fresh and made with every little detail thought of.
The crew that run this little gem are genuinely lovely people that have passion for what they do and my God do they do it well.
From the moment you get there you feel like family.
Try everything you can, then go back for more again and again. A truly authentic, absolutely delicious experience.
Pizza Fritta family grazie!
For always working hard, making it look effortless and giving Sydney a place that is truly beautiful.
F. C.
We had such a nice Sunday arvo here. Antipasto platter was plentiful, using quality ingredients.
Espresso Martinis are A+, best in the area.
Alessandra was a lovely waitress. Very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed, (including moving inside, outside, and back in again). I would recommend coming here with a group of friends or as a couple for dinner and/or lunch.
Thanks guys!
F. J.
My partner and I came over tonight for the first time, and were absolutely delighted by this place. Alessandro is the soul of the restaurant. His warm energy and passion for service makes you feel welcomed as soon as you step into Pizza Fritta. Will definitely come again!
S. S.
We come here quite often. Food is great, good coffee and very friendly service 10/10

YUM!
This place is bustling & bursting at the seams with people, noise, & aromas.
It's a lot to take in, but boy oh boy is the pizza fritta DELICIOUS!!
It's newly opened & quite small, so expect to wait for a table & for it to be very lively.
It's a bit difficult to see / understand where to go to see if a table is available or where to order take away & the waiters are all very busy.
Unfortunately most of them didn't greet or acknowledge us - that was the only negative. We were lucky the owner saw us looking around confused & helped - he was lovely & knows how to give great service.
The take away is fast, the owner is lovely & the pizza, although fried is light, airy, crispy, tasty & not at all oily.
They only offer the regular size take away (large not available unless you eat in), but we got 2 regular sized pizza fritta & it was enough to share between 2 of us & not leave us uncomfortably full.
You also don't get the same heavy feeling as when you eat a regular oven baked pizza as the dough is lighter & so tasty!
I really enjoyed it & am looking forward to heading back for more very soon :)
r. s.
Super fun vibe. Great staff and the food was great too. Will go back.
W. L.
Absolutely delicious!! I have tried many pizza places all over Sydney and this is easily one of the best, also a refreshing change to normal pizzas. So happy this place opened, we will definitely be returning customers!
P.
I'd go there once maybe, for the novelty. But otherwise the food isn't really enjoyable. Pizza is oily normally I guess, just become a bit much. The people and set up it good. But yeah...
C. M.
Loved. The staff was so nice and the food was really good. Cocktails were really good too. Recommended. Worth a visit for a different take on pizza..
T. E.
Amazing place for a dinner! Friendly staff and vibrant atmosphere. good choice of antipasti and delicious ‘pizza fritta’. Another plus: they serve great imported Italian beers. I will definitely come back!
C. T.
Great staff, cute decor and huge fried pizza! I ordered the regular size and you could definitely share with a friend. Good drinks menu too.
J. H.
Wow what a great addition to Sydney’s food scene! The pizza fritta’s were amazing- it wasn’t too oily at all. However what really stood out was the cozze alla Luigi, which is basically the same pizza dough however loaded with mussels and soaked with tomato sauce - absolutely delicious! The service was also awesome, everyone there is just loving and really attentive to their customers. Definitely will be coming back!
C. M.
Our meal this evening was wonderful. The food was great; the drinks delicious; and our waitress Alessandra was an absolute delight! Would recommend!
P. S.
Honestly loved it. One of the best meals I've had in a while. Deep fried pizza with eggplant cheese and tomato was so yum
A.
Amazing to go to with groups - cocktails are great, and their entrees are spectacular - the pizzas? Through the roof.
C. Y.
The most passionate servers ever - so much energy

Great quality ingredients, well balanced flavours and not heavy as the name or process may suggest. Awesome place and great smiley staff. 5 stars from me, congratulations guys!

Cibo è servizio ottimo
Great service. Great food. Great prices.

If you’re looking for a perfect environment and costume service this is the perfect place!! Also there is a lovely team that makes you feel so confortable and last but not least important, the food is delicious without a doubt the best pizza that I have tried in sydney👍🏼

N. K.
Had a fabulous night and the food was amazing
D. A.
We had 2 pizza fritta to take away: very good and quick service, high quality ingredients, pizzaiolo technique was close to perfection, packaging was also authentic and most importantly they tasted delicious.
J.
Amazing!! My girlfriend and I have been eyeing this place for awhile however didn’t want to have pizza regret (very serious) and never went.. until tonight. SO GOOD. If you like quality pizza you’ll love this spot 10/10
A. C.
The meals were absolutely amazing & the service was brilliant. Our waitress Alessandra was friendly & very welcoming. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆
S. D.
Really great pizza frittas! Nice vibes too. Only negative was that the plates were dirty because of the wind but that's an easy fix.
P. S.
Very good food, very good wine selection but even better service. Alessandra is always smiling and ready to help. She is classy, professional and a lot of fun! Thank you Pizza Fritta and thank you donna Alesaabdra!
P. P.
It was nice, a different take on pizza. Only criticism is that the flavours were a bit bland. Not bad, but not "I want to go there again"
N. B.
Great food, service and ambience, despite only 10 people being allowed (COVID). I did feel a little rushed but can understand that given the situation. Will be back.
G. A.
Great pizza fritta, the “zeppola” was amazing as well! I got the pizza Nonna Rosa, very tasty! The staff is very friendly and I definitely will be back.
a. s.

Pizza fritta is just as amazing as that. Finally an italian place where besides saying they are Italians, they really are. Pizza is delicious and staff very nice and welcoming.
Bel lavoro ragazzi! 😍🇮🇹

Rodrigo was the best waiter we have experienced in 2020. Polite, attentive and kind, a rare gem. The food was amazing and the service even better.

The most welcoming an happiest wait staff I have come across in a very long time! I wish I could could give her more than 5 *! But I will definitely be back! I hope alessandra will
Still be here!
L. T.
quality products. busy often, but for a reason! big plates, perfect for sharing. true italian taste..
R. J.
Although we had booked a table, we still waited over 30 mins for our table. The staff were friendly and even gave us a round of free drinks while waiting.
The dinner experience however, was not worth the wait. The wait between the appetisers and the mains was too long, also waited 30 mins for a drink that we followed up on twice.
We had a change of cutlery and plates before the mains, but two sets of the cutlery had food on them. I understand that the restaurant was at maximum capacity, not to mention the line waiting down the block, but during these times I expect full attention to be placed on hygiene and the customers seated.
I am still a fan of what Pizza Fritta has to offer but too much was going on last night, they need to scale down their attendees.
G. W.
Great location and great services. A different type of pizza but still quite tasty and well cooked.
A. H.
yum! Came here for take away after a dissapointing dinner, service is quick and the pizzas are MASSIVE and delicious. Would def come back.
R. S.
Best tasting antipasti we’ve had, both FRIARIELLI AGLIO OLIO E PEPERONCINO and MONTANARA CLASSICA are delicious and satisfying! The deep-fried pizza was authentic and comforting. Fast and friendly takeaway service. A good variety of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu too. We look forward to dining in one day!
M. T.

It is also a place launched by pizza restaurant Via Napoli.
