Comments of Saddles
J. A.
A great cafe with excellent coffee and great food. Really friendly staff who make you feel welcomed. There were 5 of us including a toddler and the staff went out of their way to make us welcomed. Bacon and eggs were amazing and the sausage roll so fresh and tasty! Seriously loved the expert
K.
Beautiful restaurant by a man made lake. Nice for a quick pre or post meal stroll. Very peaceful out here. Love the saddle stools at the bar - would love to sit here one day! Lovely decor and atmosphere! Felt like I was on holiday. Food was well cooked and tasty, not huge portions, just enough - so you won't be rolling out here in a food coma.
Z. C.
Beautiful restaurant overlooking a lake. Amazing atmosphere, delicious food and great staff. Great for a special occasion/celebration. We’ll definitely be back for more.
Recommend making a booking (especially for weekends) and there’s sufficient parking🚗
H. S.
Food was great and the view was pretty good though the weather wasn't the best. I bet it'd be awesome if I come back on a sunny day. We went there for lunch and ordered lots of foods. Vegetable tempura, kangaroo skewers and pies were really good.
C. T.
Saddles is a beautiful restaurant situated in luscious and clearly lovingly maintained grounds overlooking a beautiful lake with black swans.
The breakfast options were diverse and delicious. Generously proportioned for about $18-24 price range.
The service was highly organised, with the lovely staff taking our orders and remembering who had ordered what when delivering to our table!
A beautiful stop on the way from Sydney to the Hunter Valley - highly recommend 👌🏻

This is my second time and I love it . Good Food great service fantastic atmosphere and the bread and cakes to take home were amazing . Price reasonable .
H. L.
My second time back here. For some reason we always come on a rainy day, would have been so beautiful if it was sunny!
The food is delicious, though a little pricey, so for us it’s a special occassion thing. The service is very good.
Loved the cured trout and the sausage roll (super flaky!!).
Nice little getaway and not too far from Sydney.
V. S.
Such a cute place on the shore of man made lake
My all time favourite
This place is my favourite to eat lamington there
Me and my partner Often drive from Sydney to eat lamington there and believe me it’s worth the drive
Ambience of the place is too good
There is warm and cozy corner in the restaurant with fireplace to enjoy in the winters
Service here is fast and staff is also friendly
There is ample amount to place to sit
U can sit inside of outside as per your convenience and also there are benches placed to sit nearby so you can always plan to sit at that place with your takeaway coffee ❤️🧡
If you are avid car lovers u will often find different models of latest cars parked in front of the restaurant
Ps : there is ample amount to space to park your car there
And if u want to buy plants there is also small nursery nearby 💓

Worth the visit. A hidden gem. We just had coffees. Would love to go back for lunch/brunch

Wow the place looked sensational today (about my 10th visit) and the staff were so warm and friendly which just takes the experience to the next level. You have had a few dips in staff and food but today all the planets aligned and I take my hat off to you all 🙏🏻⭐️
A. G.
Enjoyed our midweek lunch. Unique flavours made our meals memorable. Staff were attentive. Felt safe as tables were well spaced out. Very relaxed setting. Well def go again as really want to wander through the nursery.

It was amazing! The only sad memory about this place is losing the last thing I have of my old friend. But, the food was great. And don’t get me started about the ice cream. Absolutely delicious. The view is gorgeous as well. The pond is a very nice spot to eat next to. There’s also a plant shop. The succulents are so cute. Kids meals also used to come with a free succulent. Last time I went, there was some construction where the plant shop is though.
I. G.
Hidden local gem! Discovered accidentally, popped in at a very busy time, but they were able to find a table for us. Staff is very friendly and prompt. Food was great and tasty. Stylish interior. They’ve got a nice pond and a garden so you can sit on a veranda enjoying the view and food. Very nice place and can recommend if you nearby.
K. B.
Dropped by late on a Fri whilst heading north. Coffee and cake was 👌 perfection. Lovely service, beautiful surroundings and delicious cake.
J. G. M.
We came here by chance, looking for a quick stop for lunch on our way to Central Coast. But we found a hidden gem! Food is awesome and nicely decorated.
I would totally recommend this restaurant.
I also read they are expanding ding with a lodge. I'm keen to know more about the accommodation.
M. T.
A new favourite! Can't fault it. Stunning setting, beautifully styled. Love all the theming. It is on the premium side with prices to match but well worth it! Absolutely delicious food made from the freshest local ingredients & so much flavour. The staff were friendly, attentive & fun. Such an experience, will definitely be back!
A. W.
My wife wanted a coffee on our drive from Lake Macquarie to Canberra. Asked the GPS to find us something 'along the way' and this gem was suggested. The place was outstanding and we decided to stay for a late breakfast. Coffee was great, food was better, and such a lovely place, with beautiful grounds and an awesome decor inside the restaurant. A great find, and we will definitely come back next time we travel this way.
E. V.
Saddles is a hidden gem in the farmland of the Central Coast. Lovely spot matched with great service, food and drinks. I truly enjoyed their beef pie with added fresh black truffle. I can’t wait to go back.
K.
An absolutely amazing place felt like we were in another world. Scenery and atmosphere were amazing plus the food wow never thought scrambled eggs could be so good. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Service was prompt as well. After we stuffed ourselves we sat in front of the fireplace just to chill out a bit. Afterwards definitely recommend to have a little walk around the big pond and see the blacks swans. Can't wait to come back.
Tips - book ahead of time especially on weekends and give yourself some travel time as traffic can be a headacbe
K. I.
Well, I don't use the word excellent very often. But this oasis really works its audience like a super soothsayer. The food is all made from scratch, by people who calmly put it together as you enter. Good flavours, good cookery, good produce, all well assembled to please. Just enough culinary adventure to lift it way above the best pub food around. Not cheap, but fair value. Lovely aspect, and service so eager to please professionally, that I almost felt like including chill pills in the tip. A good spot to let the city fade to memory.
N. K.
This is a stunning location, people are fabulous and helpful and the food is out of this world,
I recommend the pulled beef pie it’s the perfect combination of pure goodness and seasoning just right to quench the salty taste buds. I really don’t have a bad word about it.
Recommend with the drink getting a fruity drink to have a break up of the explosion that’s happening in the moth, 10/10 ign and even better if I can say so myself
N. P.
The best and innovative cafe over the lake I have ever been to!!! Rustic, buzzing with people, beautiful gardens and very scenic, good food & good customer service.
We ordered the waffles, sausage roll, hot cross buns and blistered cherry tomatoes.
Seeing as others ordered, the cured ocean trout, buckwheat pancakes and bacon & eggs look SO good!
J. B.
Celebrated my daughter's 13th birthday with breakfast. It was absolutely beautiful. Location is stunning, food and drinks are of quality and freshness. Service is outstanding and a comfortable ambiance.
The menu has plenty of variety and options for the whole family. The price matches it's quality and I must say the coffee is to die for. My son loved the choc fudge shake too.
Highly recommend the restaurant for all family gathering and a special treat from time to time.
The nursery located next to saddles is a lovely surprise with lots of variety and unique plants to admire and purchase.
The price is not outrageous for a boutique nursery and found it incredibly reason able.
I now have a few new additions to our home.
K. L.
Beautiful venue, service and food! We went there for lunch. Ordered the chicken, trout, honey custard tart and citrus cake. All items were delicious. We can't wait to come back :)
V. M.
Beautiful place, great food and service. The waiter overheard it was my birthday so when the cake arrived it arrived with a lit birthday candle. It was very sweet. The gardens, pond and 2 black swans are lovely. They also sell plants and I bought one. It's looks great on my balcony.
Please do book ahead but if you don't there are some outdoor seats in the garden where you can eat your take away meal.
m. o.
Beautiful atmosphere, friendly and accommodating staff.Equisite individual bar saddles to view. Menu options available. Accomodated my perfume and seafood allergy. Large lunchtime meal which I couldn't finish. Nice drive north of Sydney. Lovely surroundings of Nursery, dam with black swans and small picnic area. Would love to visit again.
S. Z.
Beautiful cafe at Mount White; we stopped by here on our way from Sydney to the mid north coast.
We ordered the sausage roll and the waffles, both were delicious. Coffee was also great. The atmosphere is to die for with the view of the lake and surrounds.
Make sure you book though!
R. W.
Great meals. Not a huge selection but able to satisfy a diverse group of 5. The waitress was absolutely fantastic. Lovely setting.
B. R.
A beautiful restaurant located just outside of Sydney metropolitan area with great view and atmosphere. Food is great and price is reasonable. Staff are helpful and nice. It can get busy at lunch time so better to prebook so you don’t get disappointed. Desserts are also pretty good. Give them a try.
N. R.
Great place for brunch lovely coffee scrumptious waffles and brioche excellent service from everyone thank you for an enjoyable experience
F. H.
Beautiful food! Staff are lovely. Will definitely return.
C. W.
Went for lunch to celebrate birthdays. Surroundings are very nice, wait staff are very attentive. Food was ok. Three people had the two different pies on offer the fourth the sausage roll and a "salad"... we also had a avocado salad and the chips. The avocado salad was very disappointing. Cos lettuce leaves smeared with mashed up avocado. The side of chips were very average too. Also the salad which wasnt a salad that accompanied the sausage roll was very heavily seasoned to the point that you were not enjoying eating it.
We had coffees which were good accompanied by cakes which were very average. Last time we had lunch there the food was much more appetising. We will go again because the staff are good. But it was a bit in need of quality control this time. Also the girl at the register had difficulty taking cash, a government voucher and a credit card payment. This was handled much better last time to. Good luck with the cafe. Its obviously a favourite for a lot of people. I guess like a lot of places you are suffering from getting back after the covid problem.
L. K.
Beautiful.
We had the pie and a drink to take away and sat on the nursery side overlooking the dam. Picture perfect. Food was very good, so was the coffee.
Wonderful location for lunch with friends. I understand you have to book a long time in advance for dinner, so that must be really something!
C. D.
A big thankyou to Saddles for the excellent food and service at a pre wedding meet to get to know a few guests. We had such a nice time despite the weather.
I would highly recommend Saddles for any function or meal.
I have also been there several times previously. 😊
M. Y.
Hubby and I found this hidden gem on a drive up from Sydney to Central Coast - and so glad we did!!! Beautifully designed restaurant amidst serene garden landscape. Customer service was top-notch from being able to squeeze us in without a booking to friendly and attentive waiting throughout our meal. Finally, the food was incredible. I had the vegetable tempura, which was packed with flavour in a decent sized portion. Hubby had the beef pie that was soo good and filling. Really enjoyed our little stop here and would definitely return!
M. S.
Beautiful location with its own little lake and swans . Good coffee and great meals well plated . Friendly attentive staff .
S. A.
Had a rest great experience here with our puppy. They are very dog friendly as well as having a wonderfully peaceful setting with top quality food to enjoy.
Definitely worth a visit.
A. P.
It was booked out, we just arrived on a whim, thanks to the awesome 👏 staff they found us a seat and no time at all we was tasting there great food...
j.
Been trying to book a slot every time we drive through Central Coast and was happy we finally did. Place is huge and cosy. Food’s a bit pricey but the meat pie and sausage roll we ordered were great! Huge servings too. Drinks were lovely as well
S. W.
What a beautiful location with lovely decor and ambience! The food for breakfast was amazing and delicious and the service faultless. We'll definitely be back for more. Enjoyed the walk around the lake after eating, and the plant nursery next door. Just wished Saddles opened for dinner as well as breakfast and lunch as it has lovely fireplace for winter and a balcony overlooking the lake for summer evenings.
s. w.
The best of the best cafe in Sydney I think, 5 star food and 5 star view. Service is great as well. Perfect! 100% I will come back again soon. And there is a plant shop next it as well!
A.
We had takeaway as it was really busy when we went - but didn’t have to wait too long and there’s casual seating overlooking the lake/dam for takeaway customers that’s really nice anyway. Great coffee and the heirloom carrot salad was delicious.
T. M.
Spotted this location on FB .... not to far from our suburb heading south, beautiful relaxing location in Mt White.
Food .... our order was delicious 👌👌 really a treat to have a beautifully made Gourmet pie & pea puree etc
The Sausage roll was Pork & Fennel etc
Beautiful 👍🏼
Highly recommended A+
N. B.
Brilliant. The service was increible particularly Jack who was extremely attentive. The decor is upscale country lodge style with added special touches like saddle bar stools and a piano bar. The grounds are just lovely as well. We had tea and cake but would love to come back and try the breakfast or lunch menu.
d.
Gorgeous food in a beautiful surrounding. Went for breakfast and could not fault the food. Staff very attentive with water and anything that we needed, made a huge difference from your everyday cafe feel that you are used to for breakfast. Only small issue, upon arriving we had what would of been the FOH manager greet us and very aggressively tell us to check in, individually, no smile or anything. I get the Covid rules 100% but the first impression before Ive had a coffee at 8am, wasn't great. Overall lovely experience in the end.
A. H.
Great place to spend a long lazy lunch. Food was delicious and the ambience of the place is great. Loved sitting out overlooking the water.
F. A.
The traffic was insane !!! Having said that, it was worth the wait. The service, the food was great.
We didn’t book but the guy was so nice and found a table with great view for us.
Make sure you make booking cause it can get busy (no wonder why)
C. J.
Nice spacious setting and good atmosphere. Good food and service. Quick drive up the M1 and not far from exit at Mt White.
S. F. D.
A great place to stop in for a bite if you are heading up north or down south. I went with the roast sweet potato with honey, camomile, cashew cream , avo and sprouts with the smoked ocean trout fritters, I could not fault either dish. I’ll be back again soon :)
J. M.
I attended with a friend and our 11 month old babies. Staff were fantastic with our babies and they were so accommodating with our dietary restrictions.
The food was really nice. I ordered the kingfish, not something I'd normally eat, but I was pleasantly surprised.
L.
Great spot, amazing premium food AND dog friendly! Dropped in on a Tuesday in hope of making a booking and they slotted us in later in the afternoon. Excellent customer service and a very special afternoon. Loved it and will be back (with the pup) to try the rest of the menu
H. M.
Delicious food and incredible ambiance. The outside sitting area is amazing, a deck over their lake, with stunning views. Great food options for all tastes and lifestyles. The chickpea pancake was beautiful! Will definitely be coming back.
T. L.
Very nice place to eat and drink.
The saddle pie is an absolute must! (Best pie I have ever eaten)

Being brought up in the country, I do have a tendency to like things a little bit rustic. When we stepped foot into Saddles property at Mt White, I instantly connected to its theming and it brought back fond memories of a country life. Together, we both like weekend getaways, so the fact that Saddles is only an hours drive from Sydney makes for the perfect little getaway.
Saddles is a stunning bakery, cafe and restaurant at Mt White. Heading up the M2, just after the Mooney Mooney Brooklyn bridge on the way to the Central Coast, you’ll find a turn off to Mt White. Saddles is found about 10 minutes down the road, inconspicuously sign posted. The turnoff which may be missed if you haven’t planned a visit. However, as we drive in, we see it’s completely packed. From what we hear, it’s booked out 3 weeks in advance. Rightfully so, Saddles is outstanding in every regards. It is an absolute gold mine and one of the most picturesque places we’ve been.
John Singleton, entrepreneur (of Bon Pavilion, as featured in another of our posts, and owner of a number of other locations on the Central Coast) purchased this 10 hectare property, built a man made dam and the overlooking bakery and restaurant, all amongst the stunning bush backdrop. Sit in the restaurant, look out at the view and you will be completely relaxed.
With oldies on road trips, families having celebrations and a few couples too, it’s perfect for any guest. We describe the space as bush elegance.
A large wooden cottage featuring iron bark beams, a fireplace as the focal point, opening both into the lounge and outdoor dining areas. Velvet and brass lounges are draped in furs, and tables feature interior design books, candles, dropped pendant lights - the styling is on point.
Artisan Saddles are hand crafted by Heath Harris, featuring as amazing chairs utilised for bar seating. There’s also a beautifully crafted piano off to the side of the bar, another great feature.
This well considered styling continues on into the bathroom with cast iron sinks, brass taps and huge brass rimmed mirrors.
An open kitchen allows you to see the staff in the kitchen at work, and it is clear they are super busy and plating the meals with precision and efficiency.
Saddles bakery and restaurant serves breakfast and lunch as well as a dinner menu on Fridays.
We’re here for the brunch menu, for choice of drinks there were freshly made juices, milkshakes, coffees and even a morning mimosa or a Bloody Mary. We have a coffee, the house blend. Smooth and not too strong.
The house made granola, with pecan, oats, dried fig, cranberries, other roasted nuts and served with a thick creamy fromage blanc, and poached rhubarb. We really enjoyed this choice and find it’s the perfect rustic dish for this venue.
Followed up by the asparagus and eggs dish which is brightly coloured with its greens, served with mushrooms, tomatoes (to replace avo which had sold out). It was topped with a pistachio crumb, spring herbs and a lemon dressing. The eggs were nicely poached, making for a spectacular yolk explosion when piecing the eggs.
Waffles, corn fritters and poached trout are amongst the other menu choices, but we needed to leave space for something that caught Kurt’s eye instantaneously, the pork & fennel sausage roll with house made sauce. This sausage roll was gigantic, with a golden crisp pastry, nice and flakey, the filling a flavourful, moist sausage mix. This is now added to our list of favourite sausage rolls.
We finish off with a patisserie item, their famous lamination. A fluffy sponge, filled with jam and coated with daintree chocolate and sprinkled with roasted coconut. A crowd favourite.
We recommend booking at least three weeks in advance, as they are super busy. There’s a few lounge seats for walk ins, but I wouldn’t take a risk as you don’t want to miss out. They also do takeaway pastries and coffee.
J. K.
Beautiful cafe hidden in Mt. White, we stopped by to have breakfast on the way to Hunter Valley. It is quiet and nice, excellent service from the staff and great environment.
M. D. M.
Awesome place. Great atmosphere and staff. Oh and great food too 👍🏽
O. R.
We had a delicious vegetarian lunch today with cocktails to match. The place was busy but they found a table for us. The food was very delicious and the cocktails were generous. For desert we had their devine locallt made coconut maringue. We had a nice chat with our waitress who was courteous. The view across the pond was tranquil, creating the perfect atmosphere for a NYE lunch.
A. S.
Great food great service, and wow what a fit out and location
P. L.
Amazing hidden gem on the Central Coast. Scenic property with a small pond with swans and ducks and tables outside for takeaway from the outdoor Cafe which features some amazing pastries and cakes. Tried the cauliflower pie which was flavoursome and came with the most delicious tomato chutney that I could have eaten on its own. Would love to dine in the restaurant next visit as the menu is different inside (bookings essential as this place is very popular).
F. T.
Always love going here. Just such a lovely place to visit..the restaurant by the lake, the ducks, the food and service.... everything is just awesome. The kiosk serves freshly made pies and dessert.
G. H.
Awesome place. Absolutely brilliant friendly service and lovely food and decor. Loved the saddles along the bar.
N. U.
Stunning location, outside deck looks right out onto the lake and is such a peaceful oasis to have a meal. Staff were kind and helpful. Decor inside is beautiful - loved the saddles up near the bar! Wood fire going inside and outside was a lovely touch.
R. J.
Today 26th October 2021 I was taken to saddles for my birthday lunch. I was almost put off by the reviews I read here but decided to go anyway.
What a lovely birthday lunch it was ! The staff were very pleasant, the ambience great, and the food delicious and reasonably priced.
There we’re 5 of us. We had two to three alcoholic drinks each, some tasty things whilst waiting for our order, 5 mains and 5 desserts with five coffees. After 2.5 hours we left completely satisfied.
Will most certainly return!
M. G.
This is a beautiful restaurant and well worth the trip up the highway to Mt White. Great food and service and surprisingly reasonable prices. Enjoyed the surrounds.
T. J.
Love this place, beautiful place and nice interior design even a toilet (no joke) worth to try, definitely will go back again
L. d.
It was a really lovely place. Nice scenery, outlook from outside terrace and the interior design is very well done. Good ambiance. The food for breakfast was satisfying and tasted good. We had the buckwheat pancake with mushrooms, the smoke ocean trout and the waffles with caramelised banana and marscapone (highly recommend waffle! delish!). But, it felt like it should be a classy restaurant where you can have a nice dinner, have a Cognac or whisky. It's a bakehouse supposedly. Maybe they should open it up for a classy dinner restaurant?! Overall a nice experience, good food, staff were efficient and friendly. I will definitely visit again when I'm in the area and would recommend to friends and family.
R. S.
Great service. Great outdoors and awesome food. What more could one ask for on a Valentines day Sunday morning where we walked in without a booking and were still accommodated to our complete surprise!
s. l.
Delightful place to enjoy a breakfast, lunch or dinner amongst nature. Staff are attentative and welcoming from the moment you arrive. The food is fresh, tasty and well presented. Meal sizes are adequate but I highly recommend ordering an entree, main, side dish and dessert (the menu is divine, you have to work your way through it!). Afterwards, you can enjoy a stroll through the beautiful gardens and even say hello to the resident birds. Bookings are essential, it gets quite busy. I look forward to our next visit.
S. L.
Recommended for brunch, going back to check out lunch as it's not open for dinner. The staff are excellent and a table on the balcony overlooking the Dam is a delight.
A. S.
Beautiful cafe at Mount white. Lovely food and ambience
T. B. (. i. n. a. B.
Pros: nice staff, tasty food, beautiful views and surroundings
Cons: just a little far from major city and M1. But that’s totally worth it!
J. P.
I have been to Saddles quite a few times and love the atmosphere of the water .
I do think it's time for a new menu or perhaps introduce a few more additions.
The staff and food are lovely.
J. B.
Venue is lovely, food is great and a nice portion, dessert was delicious, and the servers were attentive and pleasant. Will definitely head back here.
J. B.
Beautiful location, friendly and helpful service.
However the food was a bit underwhelming in flavour as well as portions. Not bad, just not quite aligned with the price.
H. W.
Had a function here recently and we had the best experience! Unlimited tea and coffee, delicious breakfast options and incredible sweets to finish. Our whole group had a fantastic time. Would highly recommend!
P. P.
This is the best venue for a meal on the Central Coast. The food is fabulous, the setting is superb and the service is beyond reproach.
p. k.
Family lunch celebration ... really gorgeous restaurant in beautiful setting, absolutely delicious roast chicken & peppers was the highlight
M.
Brilliant setting, professional staff, small but tasty dishes. Very laid back for long lunch or breakfast pig-out!
A. K.
Had the farm chicken with charred corn and it was absolutely delicious. The service was stellar and enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. I recommend you make a reservation as it was busy when we went. Thanks so much for the great lunch!
M. G.
Not too far off the highway!
Amazing food and great atmosphere. Well worth the stop whichever way you’re travelling the M1
C. B.
Beautiful breakfast and a gorgeous setting
Can't wait to try lunch next time
A. O.
Wow & wow !! What a terrific experience. Food delicious & staff very professional & obliging. Obviously a well deserved accolade. I'll be back
D. N.
Absolutely loved it. No reason my we shouldnt. My photos look so good. I will make sure i dine in next time.
R. M.
Great lunch
Fantastic Staff
Well worth a visit book early they get very busy
J. R.
Stunningly beautiful location. On a sunny day the garden and reflections on the water were like a painting. The restaurant space has been carefully curated to be welcoming and distinctively Australian.
The small menu reflects this theme. We enjoyed a good lunch but the food was heavy and salty. The service was patchy.
We'll definitely go back for the scenery as much as anything. The dessert and coffee menu was very tempting.
D. A.
Such a beautiful, peaceful place to have afternoon tea and cake on the verandah or a wind down drink sitting in saddles at the bar. Wonderful decor inside, natural beauty outside.
D. R.
Very nice coffee and a lovely area to walk around and take in the scenery
S. S.
The waffles are 👌🏻 nice location, make sure to make a booking and ask for outside seating
B. O.
Delicious food, beautiful setting, I loved the lake and the black swans!
M. A.
Lovely, picturesque place with accommodating staff and delicious brunch menu. If you're a sweet tooth, you'll love the waffles with mascarpone and the beef and onion pie has real chunks of steak.
K. L.
Great location, friendly service delicious breakfast. What’s not too love!
O. C.
What a great place to go for an out of town long lunch!! Would highly recommend. It’s so quiet and peaceful. Next time I’ll be sure to go with a large group of friends for an early dinner...
r. l.
Our special birthday lunch at Saddles was disappointing, Booking was for 1.30pm and the restaurant was busy however the service was on the slow side. The roast chicken was cold as was the mash under the beef pie. We were too hungry to send it back. After the mains we were given a dessert menu and told the waitress we would be ordering however 20 minutes later we were still waiting for someone to take our order. At this stage the restaurant was emptying out and by the time someone arrived to take our order it was too late. All we got was 'sorry about that'. Not good enough for this restaurants reputation.
C. R. N.
I only stopped here briefly on a road trip but I bought a loaf of their sourdough and it was incredible. I hope I can go back for food!
J. C.
Good morning birthday girls brunch, pity it was such a wet and rainy morning
M. B.
Delightful even in the rain, my breakfast was delicious. Staff were very friendly, we will definitely be back, what a great find.
S. G.
Amazing place, great location and tasty food. Best staff....
P. I. M.
Love the garden centre and variety of plants and flowers. Lovely view of the little Lake...
J. B.
Wow. Five star restaurant with the rustic saddlery touch !! Attentive waiter and scrumptious food !! Saddles at the bar instead of seats !! Fantastic !! Going back asap...yes !!
G. H.
Thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, food and service. It is so good to just relax overlooking the pond and bush.
G. M.
The restaurant at Saddles was nice. We arrived at about 11.10 as breakfast service was finishing. Due to this many of our selections were not available. We weren't prepared to wait for the lunch session so decided on a pie and sausage roll with coffee. Trying to make a sausage roll into a gourmet item didn't work as the meat filling was dry. The pie was OK. The price of the pie with a dollop of tomato salsa was $19. The sausage roll with a dollop of tomato salsa was $14. Nothing else on the plate. Both items overpriced in my opinion. The coffees were $4 & $4.50 and were good.
The grounds are nice but due to the rain we didn't explore too far.
THE GARDEN CENTRE is a must. A very friendly lady who was very helpful.
I will go back but will ensure it is during the middle of a dining session.
R. B.
What a perfect place for breakfast. Fantastic coffee and scrumptious meals
G. S.
Great food, service & surroundings.
Breakfast was delicious, we'll be going back real soon for the lunch menu.

Beautiful, natural and absolutely loveable. We had coffee and it was wonderful too.
M. B.
Great location, very cosy and peaceful. What impressed me most was the friendly warm staff. There was 7 of us for birthday lunch and staff come out with candles and muffin, very sweet!
A lot of us order the pie speciality, very delicious.
Pleasantly surprised how the service has really improved since last time we went. Thanks Saddles
A. L.
Such a gorgeous place for a lunch with an excellent menu as well.

My go to restaurant for any celebration.
Food is always fresh and cooked to perfection.
Staff are always friendly , efficient and knowledgeable.
The venue is stunning ,relaxing and unique.
Absolutely love Saddles
Prices are very reasonable for the quality of both the food and venue.
T. F.
Great customer service, friendly staff. Visited this cosy beautiful cafe for brunch. Love the vibe.
J. H.
Usual service and food keeps us coming back and easy to recommend
D. S.
lovely ambience and great food ! Unfortunately they had a power cut when we visited, around the bushfire season !! Yet they had lamingtons, beef sausages and coffee. ❤️ Loved the place, cute and gorgeous!!
T. K. B.
Oh my goodness, this place is one of the best hidden gems I have been to in a long time. Absolutely amazing food. Decor was very nice and the staff were very friendly and professional.
They don't have enough customers to stay open for dinner so go and tell them to stay open late hehe.
A. S.
Such a beautiful spot for breakfast and lunch, fantastic scenery, great staff and excellent food. Would definitely suggest any of the baked goods, probably some of the best I've had.
E. X.
Food is fantastic and interesting. Great service and lovely setting.
D. R.
Great modern Australian food in a relaxed setting. Grab a table on the deck overlooking the pond. Dog friendly too!!!
S. M.
I so wanted to give you a 5 star but I just couldn't, I had high expectation especially waiting for over a month for a booking.
Booking was easy and staff was very accomodating with request of an outside table, we booked for 2pm so we would experience the sunset and relax for the rest of the afternoon, unfortunately even though all the staff was amazing we felt rushed and were told we need to vacate the table at 4.30pm as they had a private function.
The surroundings and restaurant are amazing and all of my stars go the the venue unfortunately where you failed was the menu, nothing to write home about. The lamb even though we know needs to be rare was slightly undercooked, the fat was still wobbly, the chicken was dry and I wished there was more sauce to moisten it.
I don't like to post negative reviews, I just choose not to go back, but I feel if my review helps in any way to improve the menu this place would be the talk of the town.
I wanted to end on a good note though, My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon despite the food being average and the little touch of a candle on a couple of our friends dessert was very personal, please don't think of this as a disgruntled customer, I would like the opportunity to come back and experience a much improved menu, but for now its just a restaurant I tick off my list.
M. W.
Great setting, friendly staff, reasonable breakfast and lunch menus, good wine list.
S. B.
Great food, friendly and efficient wait staff! Beautiful setting!
R. J.
Amazing breakfast! Friendly and welcoming staff! What a nice start to our holiday 😊
Not to forget a nice view on deck !
L. K.
Fantastic location and great food and service
G. H.
Staff were excellent in making the 40th birthday and surprise engagement the best day for my family and I. Thank you
T. E.
Stunning location and great menu! A hidden gem for sure!
P. P.
Great food, great service and amazing setup near the lake. We went there on a weekday morning, before work, and it was so calm and relaxing.
The waffles were great, but maybe share it with someone else, the amount of caramel makes it hard to finish 😅
D. D.
Amazing view from the deck. We had our order then very quickly and the food didn't take too long to arrive. Very friendly servers. Highly recommended the waffles to satisfy a sweet tooth. Would definitely go back
S.
Amazing view and amazing food. We visited from Sydney to have brunch. We were seated outside, facing the water. Beautiful day, and to top it off, brunch was amazing and great coffee too. I had the house made waffles with maple syrup and a pecan crumble. It was delicious! I loved it.
B. &. P. F.
Not as good as our first visit. Was not impressed. Some food descriptions on tbe menu did not match with what we understood to what was served. My slow roasted lamb also consisted of two lamb chops with nearly as much fat as meat. The custard tart was actually deconsructred with thick flaky pastry. Had to taste the custard. Covid timing at one & half hours was rushed, would think two hours more appropriate for table of four.
J. H.
This is a fantastic, albeit somewhat expensive, place to go for coffee, breakfast, lunch, etc...
It looks amazing, and the quality of food and drinks is equally as amazing.
Perfect for somewhere to stop on your north- or south-bound journey on the M1/F3. It's not far off the freeway so won't add much to your journey time, but is a great way to break up a long journey.
They do take-away coffees too, so if you are in a rush, you can always get one to-go.
There's a good quantity of parking on-site, but if it's full, you've got plenty of parking on the street.
After food/drink you can walk around the beautiful gardens and lake (or is it a dam?) There's also a nursery you can buy plants from.
N. F.
Fine dining in a beautiful country style Luxe homestead with attentive and prompt service.
K. R.
Really nice good and drinks, great menu and beautiful setting
H. G.
Lovely food, great coffee and service. Very overpriced though.
N. T.
Excellent food and service. Had the pancake w/ fried egg and mushrooms, tasted great. Kids menu is a little slim but they can find food on the adults menu. Dog friendly, but you should book ahead if you want to bring them.
L. S.
Great place for breakfast, if you're nearby or driving out to Saddles.
M. P.
A beautiful place for lunch. The we food and service was outstanding. So relaxing with the lake backdrop.
L. T.
Loved this beautiful dining area. Unique, inviting, posh enough for work functions & meetings, yet casual enough for a date or get together with friends. Lovely surrounds with black swans in the lake & a nursery to boot
L. S.
Thank you so much for lovely lunch! Food was delicious! Service was excellent even though was very busy. Jack made us feel right at home! We will come back!
The black swans were delightful!
J. R.
The food is second to none .. add the service and the ambiance and you have the PERFECT breakfast venue!
S.
Will definitely be back!! Loved the ambience and the tranquility
Food was great and even got to see a family of black swans
M. S.
Great destination cafe. Beautiful outlook.
Food was nice!
T. S.
Excellent friendly attentive service but the food lacked flavour and seasoning. Felt like the idea was there but not the execution. We had the sausage rolls, chicken and mushroom pie. The sides were yummm: fries and zucchini. Nice location
T. N.
Great coffee. Great service. Great decor and beautiful setting.
C. A.
We had lunch there! What a great place! The food was lovely, the decor, the atmosphere everything! We also loved the nursery! What a beautiful lady that was there to serve us! I felt just like being home!!
P. R.
Lovely setting. Unobtrusive, pleasant wait staff with knowledge of the menu. Entrées (small plates) were very palatable, but large plate selection was quite limited. Pies, sausage roll and venison sausage, Vege option and grouper. Grouper was good. Price point comparable with Sydney's fine dining restaurants in a very relaxed atmosphere. Small wine list.
D. W.
A delicious long Birthday lunch in relaxed surroundings ably assisted by the lovely Carly.
J. O.
We have been there before for coffee and cake and we loved it. Went there for lunch today and were disappointed. Some of the cutlery was dirty, the waitress seemed unsure of the menu and then there was confusion when we wanted to use our dining vouchers.
p. l.
Make sure to make a booking, like all places these days its safe to make a booking if u really want to go somewhere.
Location is lovely. There is a garden centre and a seating area by the water. The staff are lovely and I would love to return back and enjoy myself again.
T. H.
Wonderful location, food and service
Just gorgeous location and food. I contacted them 3 times prior to our booking with requests including Pre ordering champagne for on arrival, verandah request, out of the sun and nothing was too much trouble. We had a wonderful server - Jarrod - who was excellent and helped make this lunch a wonderful experience for myself, my husband and my mum. We’re all having a nanna nap now as the food was delicious and so filling. And the great wine recommendations helped! As a vegetarian I felt as special as the meat eaters ... which was lovely. Will be back x
M. F.
I found the food and service great also the staff were friendly.
W. L.
That was the best meat pie I have ever eaten! We started the twowheeltours Randonnée from Saddles on Sunday. It was the perfect location to start and finish this 130km bike ride.
The staff we very friendly and helpful.
Many thanks and we cannot wait to get back there to do another event.
K. C.
What a beautiful place for lunch 😍
Enjoyed my ox tongue schnitzel and pickled beets
J. R.
Rock up on a busy Sunday didn’t have a table book but squeeze us in to enjoy a delicious breakfast coffees are very good even had another one. Very friendly staff.
Lots of parking so not a problem
Winter suggestion would be a lot nicer then in summer can get a little warm.
C. A.
Food was amazing and the place looks superb.
But horrible service. The waitress was rude from the start. I even mentioned it to the manager before I left to get told yeah we are under staffed and he brushed me off. Absolutely appalling.
S. L.
Just had a superb take away latte. Really humming from the first taste. 😃
D.
Great place for food and relax, best stopover between Sydney and Newcastle.
M. G.
The location, atmosphere and decor are all top notch quite an experience. The food is absolutely excellent and the best part of the experience may be the service. It's friendly, prompt without being annoying, and very accommodating. Highly recommend a visit.
F. H.
Perfect road stop on the way north. Idyllic surrounds, great vibe and fantastic food.
A. E.
What a find! Beautiful food, beautiful decor, beautiful view and beautiful overall vibe!
B. M.
A wonderful place to have a superior lunch in comfortable and beautiful surroundings. The log fire was a treat on this cool and sunny winter's day. Definitely will go back.
J. H.
I brought my 86 year old dad to Saddles today to celebrate our birthday,
- yes we share a birthday (along with my son). Anyway, it was wonderful. Service was friendly and our waiter was very kind and hospitable. Food was delish. Perfect!
P. J.
Loved everything about saddles. Cant wait to go back already!
R. M.
Saddles is a lovely restaurant right next to a little lake in the bush. Very relaxing and very popular considering that we could only get a 2pm booking!
The food was perfect and as for the desserts...wow! There is a coconut meringue passionfruit creation which is to die for.
If I have to complain (and why not?) I'd have to say that I have now had enough of both Country AND Western music to suffice till I die, which presents a problem since I look forward to returning for a second stab at that meringue concoction. The salty caramel tart was pretty good too. Oh decisions, decisions!
S. H.
Beautiful Breakfast great menu very relaxing spot highly recommend
I. G.
Wow! What great food, service and ambiance. Could put dietary options on menu to avoid delays. Loved the open fires on a chilly day 🙂
C. S.
The waffles J and J shared were indulgent and they were no where near finishing the dish, but very happily full.
The bacon and eggs weren't as aspirational, and were missing anything "saddles".
When there's four stools at the bar that were _actual_ saddles, I'd hoped to see something on the menu also. Cowboy beans? Tex Mex breakfast?
R. M.
Saddles is beautifully situated restaurant with a glorious view over a perfectly landscaped garden and dam with its own nursery. It was wonderful to enjoy a great breakfast with friends before strolling around the grounds and then buying some beautiful plants from the nursery. 10 out of 10!
P. G.
Great location. On the Go Food was alright (can do with more options). Bit slow service. Nice vibe and haven't tried the main food.
J. B.
Nice spot, friendly staff, wonderful service and great food. What more can you ask for! Loved the stunning bathrooms.
Can't wait to return!
G. H.
Saddles is a hidden gem . 1st class in every way
D. G.
Such a beautiful little nursery next to the Saddles restaurant full of a heaps of cool plants - loved the succulents planted in logs
P. W. S.
Good food, excellent service and great ambience.
J. L.
Amazing cafe. Went here for my birthday breakfast and it didn't disappoint. The cafe itself is beautiful set in stunning surrounding which includes a large pond - which comes with a set of black swans and a few ducks. The food was amazing. Very relaxing atmosphere. It gets very busy so recommend you book. It's a bit out of the way but worth a visit. The only negative was service took a while as it was busy. But this was only a very small negative.
R. B.
The food, the view was a great experience
I went by myself had a table right in front of the pond. Did not feel uncomfortable being by my self. It was soooooo relaxing
will take my friends next time
D. M.
Amazing place and great food👌. Thank you for accommodating us although we are such a big group. Worth the long drive. Beautiful staff. We will definitely come back.
M. S.
Excellent breakfast - great food and great selection. Awesome service. We were seated out on the balcony and it was just perfect. Highly recommended!
H.
Great atmosphere from handmade saddles to Australian sandstone wall features which clearly shows they spared no expense. We went there for a breakfast and the food was tasty. We'll try the lunch too. You can walk around the property and have a sit at the tables next to the dam which is a relaxing time after meal. I highly recommend this place for a visit.
H. G.
We had a beautiful lunch at Saddles today, it was a lovely experience! The service was brilliant, Jack was friendly and extremely attentive, he made our day.
We would definitely recommend Saddles.
L. J.
Had a great experience today at Saddles. We had a 2nd seating booking (130) for 7 but planned to arrive early so we could all have a catch up over coffee first. I'm on a walker so, long story short they managed to seat us around 12ish, despite being quite busy. Everyone enjoyed their lunches and the service was good, considering how busy they were (Covid safe of course). They even brought me a cupcake with a candle as it was a birthday celebration. The location is picturesque and the atmosphere relaxed and family friendly, there were even some dogs wandering around enjoying the socialisation 😁 I would recommend this venue as a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast or lunch with a beverage or 2. Theres even a Nursery if you're so inclined and fresh baked bread available at the kiosk. The menu is small but adequate and bakery centric. Make sure you book as it's a very popular spot.
C. C.
I’ve been here a couple of times now, and feel like they could do so much more with the menu.
The setting is stunning, and the service is attentive but the main items on the lunch menu are pies and sausage rolls - and whilst they are pretty good, they aren’t worth $20.
A. M.
Always lovely food and view
G. W.
On arrival 10 minutes early told no entry take a walk ! Asked if we could look at menu while we waited on veranda told no they are not printed yet. This is 10 minutes before our book in time. On entry not given an outside or insider choice. Meal was ok. Would not go back or recomend.
I. K.
Good food, but large plates are just that 😜
A. A.

Absolutely brilliant. Definitely a place worth driving to and spending a while. Lovely setting, grounds and interior. The menu includes some very nice local items. Not an extensive menu but only includes excellent fare.
An open fire and thoughtful creative decor really makes this a comfortable place to visit.
I will be back.
P. C.
Beautiful location, good food from the Winter menu, great service with a smile and plenty of parking. We had meals from the small and large plates and desserts wine and coffee. All reasonably priced. Will go again

An absolutely wonderful afternoon. Fantastic staff, thank you, food was beautiful, dessert amazing and location extremely relaxing. I can not speak highly enough of this spot, the staff and our experience.
a. d.
Beautiful place, good food and friendly staff. Their menu has limited items, so I would recommend to check it out online incase you are looking for something specific. Plenty of space for parking.
F. Λ.
Excellent restaurant!
Amazing facilities.
Food very elaborated.
Great service.
A good choose if you are around.
M. A.
Tasty food, friendly staff. Beautiful ambiance
D. C.
Great atmosphere. Food menu limited. Food and coffee nice. Friendly staff and a lovely outlook. A little pricey though. Need to book as it's popular.
J. R.
Fabulous meals and incredible service. Incredible location. The cafe restaurant building attention to detail. Saddles using all local produce and local wines. Home baked breads and an exciting menu. From Breakfast to dinner I highly recommend.
m. j.
I have been to Saddles three times now! This place is awesome, fabulous food, ambience & amazing hospitality, we arrived one time without a booking at a very busy time, the waitress went above & beyond to accommodate us. Lastly so great to finally get some fabulous dinning experiences on the coast
M. L.
The atmosphere was incredible. ...so relaxing followed by delicious meal served by efficient staff who made every effort to ensure your comfort.
A. G.
Lovely location. Lovely place. Plenty of parking. Staff are very nice and accomodating. Food has always been fantastic. Albeit maybe a tad over priced, but the food itself does not disappoint. The coffee i would give an 8/10 personally. Its Very good. Have been there many times and will continue to return.
J. F.
Such a beautiful spot, not far off the highway. A very pretty setting and great little nursery to wander through. Food was lovely as were the staff. Well worth a visit.
C. M.
Loved lunch. Very relaxing
C. E.
Congratulations Saddles,!The best restaurant experience we have ever had. From the design, landscaping, decor and view to the food. Wow! an amazing experience. We couldn't fault it. Well done. We cant wait to return.
P. R.
Magnificent location and the food was very good. Had the beef pie. Extremely impressed. Had the vegan cheesecake and not much flavour that I was expecting. I'll be back.
D. ..
Enjoyed our breakfast here. Unusual menu but that forced me to try something different than I typically would. Beautiful, secluded spot and a stunningly presented restaurant. Will be back!
Y. S.
Amazing place. Perfect for special occassions.
B. M.
Beautiful setting nestled in the greenery and food to die for!
J. C.
Spring menu is ok
Prefer Summer menu
Bit rusty after a long lay off
T. W.
Went to Saddles on Saturday for my daughter's Bridal shower and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely time. Thanks so much
G. D.
stunning location, lots to see, delightfully decorated. And that's before the food and service, which were 10/10.
Great value at about $50ph to be quite adequately fed and watered.
We will surely go there again
V.
Loved every minute here! This is a great place to come with family and for a scroll after lunch. The food here is presented well and taste great! Would recommend to family and friends

Great Atmosphere with good food.
M. J.
Such a beautiful location and the food is excellent! Book in advance for weekends but they do have some walk-ins available. Lovely, friendly service, looking forward to going back!
T. M.
Stunning location with great staff and food. The atmosphere was fabulous and relaxed.
The only suggestion I have is that perhaps 2 or 3 more main or large plate options.
Well done on a lovely establishment.
S. J.
Beautiful place so relaxing food is incredible and service is even better highly recommend take your friends and family to see this beautiful place in a great location
O. A.
A special gem with a great selection of beverages... Plus a few surprises 😃🤩
R. D.
A must to visit and great meals. This is a great place to visit and to enjoy nature. The restaurant is well situated. The seating is beautiful. The staff are friendly and the service is one of the best we have visited.
G. S.
Excellent food and service, and a lovely setting. I also like their policy of setting a *finish* time for a booking - it means I can be 100% confident that my table will be ready for my booked time - thankyou!
C. R.
Had a late lunch at Saddles, Mt White. Visited the nursery which i always love. The lady working there is lovely. We didnt have a booking but they squeezed us in. Staff at Saddles always have great customer service. Tried the veal which was new on the menu. It was great, i wasnt sure about the char grilled cos but it went well with the dish. Had the merengue again for dessert, loved the stewed peaches, much better than the stewed plum. The Butterscotch and Honey Gelato was amazing.
L. M.
Loved this place! Food was amazing, absolutely beautiful atmosphere and service was great. Very reasonably priced. I'll definitely be going back!!
V. H.
Fabulous night at this amazing restaurant. The food was A1 and the staff couldn't have been nicer! We will most definitely be back again! Thank you all!!
G. H.
Fabulous location, amazing food - matched by the equally fabulous service of the whole team!! Special thanks to Justine and Alana for your seemingly effortless coordination of our large group, and a shout-out to Jack whose energy, enthusiasm and responsive service ensured we had a family celebration to remember!!
K. L.
What a magnificent place. The view was great, the ambiance was perfect and the food is to die for. Brilliant and perfect for my first visit.
O. G.
Amazing bakery restaurant! Lovely staff with prompt and friendly service. An great atmosphere inside and out. LOVED the open fireplaces overlooking the lake. Thank you for a great lunch....
J.
beautiful little nursery with some inspiring ideas
A. S.
What a stunning location and restaurant. On arrival, it took my breath away. Unfortunately from the minute we sat down they were standing over our table every 5 minutes trying to hurry us along to the next stage and not even in a kind way. Not to mention we were made to wait 15 mins before we could sit down for our reservation. It really put a dampener on what is a beautiful place.
M. K.
In a most unexpected location, an hour’s drive from Sydney on the Central Coast, is a new no-expenses-spared restaurant. Anywhere else, its boot-scootin’ cowboy aesthetic might be on the wrong side of kitsch. But here, on 25 acres overlooking a large dam and surrounded by thick and dry, sepia-toned bush landscape, it works. Saddles was opened by John Singleton, the most moneyed advertising big shot in Sydney – if not Australia – who once owned Bondi’s scene-stealing Icebergs.
Here it feels like the Man from Snowy River has retired in prosperity and turned his ranch into a daybreak escape for city-slickers. There are grand sandstone fireplaces and leather saddles doubling as bar stools – crafted at a cost of up to £4,000 each by artisanal master saddler Heath Harris. The food is simple and hearty, and completely unpretentious: whole roast chickens, tender lamb shoulder and meat pies packed with rich, slow-cooked beef chunks steeped in red wine. Everything from the tomato sauce to the still-warm sourdough is made here, and native ingredients such as finger limes, lemon myrtle and Davidson plums are picked from the restaurant garden; the drinks list, bar the Champagne, is all-Australian, too. Saddles has injected some oomph into the go-slow coast, a once lo-fi spot that’s now attracting a savvy Sydney crowd every weekend. Among a smattering of new openings in the area, this is certainly the place to be for Sunday lunch – worthy of a motorway detour in its own right.
M. G.
Good service, attractive location and very good value. Menu and drinks menu were limited but sufficient. Highly recommend the beef and mushroom pie.
N. H.
Loved the sausage roll and the food is genuinely delicious.
A great place for a day out or stopping by on the way up north to tourist drive 33 up through Kulnurra & Wollombi. Always stopped over whenever we travel to visit Grace Springs Farm in Kulnurra.
C.
Always delicious. Hadn’t been to Saddles since 2019 and but was as wonderful as ever. The pie😌heavenly 👏🏻👏🏻
D. D.
A very pleasant setting for a well-appointed restaurant. The food did not disappoint.
L. L.
Amazing lunch with lovely fresh produce. Setting and decor is stunning. Only negative was the service was a little slow as had to wait a while to find a waitress to grab their attention for drinks etc, although they were very friendly. we will be back.
R. B.
Really enjoyed this place. The venue is gorgeous and the vibe is great. Food and service was on point, my only regret is having to be designated driver! Kid friendly to boot.
R. C.
Really good experience. The food was excellent and the service was great too! Their bread they bake in house is phenomenal.
G. B.
What can I say, simply the best. Have been an number of times, always consistent... good food and service, beautiful surroundings . Something you expect from a Singleton owned establishment.
A. S.
Amazing food, great atmosphere. We really enjoyed it here.
A. S.
Great place to sit on the verandah with a coffee and some delicious food. It's a little on the pricey side but then the quality is there. Anyway the coffee is great and that's what matters. I'll be back soon.
R. A.
Great location at Mt White overlooking a small lake. Lunchtime menu varied and good quality. Both the Beef Pie and the Sausage Roll highly recommended.
E. O.
We loved Saddles and plan to return to explore the rest of the menu. It was disappointing that there were no sugar substitutes (like Equal, Stevia, etc.) and only Diet Coke (no No Sugar Coke or Pepsi Max). Diabetics or those avoiding sugar need to come prepared and bring their own supplies!
J. O.
Saddles got the views, albeit on the expensive end.
c. t.
Great service and food was outstanding. We will definitely going back. Don’t leave without having a dessert. “To die for”
J.
Great food, wine, service and atmosphere, only marred by some overly friendly dogs trying to share our lunch
A. C.
Great to relax and look at some interesting things
B. G.
Try the lavender spritz and the lavender cheesecake together 💜
M. K.
Beautiful location and decor. But the menu items can get a little fancy with every option having a contentious ingredient or two. Also very expensive.
D. W.
Great outlook. Fabulous interior. Excellent food and wine. Wonderful service. Will definitely be back🙂👍
D. K.
What a place! Great friendly staff, beautiful food served in idyllic surrounds. Perfect start on a hunter road trip.

Saddles is a hidden gem . 1st class in every way
b. b.
Took our fab staff to this ranch style venue. Great open layout. Clean and spacious toilets where you can clean up - if the toilets are clean and spacious so is the kitchen. Right?
Table and seating was comfortable. The ambience was great. It set the tone for a great night. Our waiter and his back up were engaging and made it special. Saddles worked in sync with our team organiser and the meal was fabulous. Meat and fish options as well as chicken... in variations that stretched from entree to mains. Great lightly crumbed King Prawns!!! I'm surprised at some of the neg reviews here... trust me I am a detail minded restaurant user and this was a very very good evening.
J. M.
Wow wow wow So very impressed with Saddles. Decor fabulous and the saddles as bar chairs were a hit with our family. Staff are lovely, friendly and cannot do enough for u. Food is awesome. So much to choose from the menu and the meals are a decent size. We had an inside table for 11 people. Chairs so comfortable and the table was huge. No outside cakes or alcohol aloud. Plenty of parking up the driveway besides saddles in the car park. It's better for u all to booked a table as it is a very busy restaurant. By the way if u want u can just go their for coffee and cake. Great view outside overlooking the lake. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant. U won't be disappointed.
M. B.

Have now had lunch on two occasions, the location is excellent, the service is great but I have found the current menu a little bland.
R. L.
Stopped in without a booking and was lucky to get a seat on the big lounge by the fire. We had a simple lunch and it was excellent.
I was most impressed by the very friendly and courteous staff. They were quite busy but ensured we felt welcome.
We’ll be back.

Delicious food, and great service. On the fine dining end of the pricing spectrum. Went for lunch on a hot summer day, and it was very warm sitting outside and did not seem much cooler inside. Played nothing but country music.
B. H.
Awesome looking place, friendly staff. Had coffee & cake looking over large pond. Thoroughly recommend

Was here for a birthday lunch. Beautiful setting, open restaurant and next to a large lake / dam which gives it a nice vibe. Food was great, had the pork belly. Great restaurant for occassions, definitely book ahead.

Great atmosphere and great service from Jake! Hands down best beef pie I've ever had in my life , coffee and milkshakes were also great.
R. H.
Such a great picturesque location, a lot more than just a resturant. Make sure you get there early to take in the scenery. The restaurant set over the large dam is stunning, fresh rustic menu which does not disappoint.
Stop in for a coffee and sit around the dam, its was s great experience.
d. f.
Nice location. Still getting up to speed. Good for exploring, but no real kids menu. Food not particularly mind blowing. Garden centre next door in the process of being set up.
N. S.
Fantastic space with excellent food. The lake and landscaping ate awesome and the owners brought two horses along for the kids to play with which was fantastic. A really lovely way to spend a couple hours on a Sunday morning
M. G.
Incredible! Staff were so lovely aswell.
R. N.
We went here for brunch. It was great! The bread was fresh and bacon and egg were nicely done. Friendly staff and lovely view. It's great spot to go for a proper food or even stop for a coffee.
I had flat white and coffee was good quality.
Plenty of space for kids to play outside. There is not a playground there but it's open area.
Also plenty of parking too.
We are going to try lunch there soon.

Really nice setting, food surprised me tried the sausage roll and red wine pie and smash both were great. They had some nice sounding seafood meals however I dont not eat seafood.
Cakes looked great but was to full to try.
I recommend this place for anyone wanting to get out and try something different to your local haunt.
R. W.
Beautiful setting, polite service. Ordered the beans with rainbow chard - very average - bland, flavourless, very disappointing
S. R.

T. T.
Nice setting food is great and they never complain about me working on my ugly sailboat nextdoor
M. L.
Really really lovely food, great service and beautiful outlook. Just need to put some shade up on the Western side. We were a party of 18 (booked months ago) & by 2.30 were reduced to standing up as the sun was beating in & really really hot! Nowhere to go to get out of it. It’s not rocket science.
C. L.
Absolutely awesome long Sunday lunch. Delicious food, amazing wines and a perfect location. Can’t wait to go back ☺️☺️☺️
C. &. E.
It doesn't get much better than this on the Central Coast. A contemporary Australian concept restaurant in an arcadian setting, complete with a bush, hills, a dam, and power lines.
S. S.
Lovely location, staff and food

Fabulous place to stop to break up our journey. The manger was very accommodating as one of our party had a dog. The staff are amazing, helpful with dietary needs, polite and patience. The food was fabulous, hot, very tasty and good value for money. This place has definitely got that wow factor in all areas. I'm visiting from England and I'm hoping to visiting again before returning home.

Location perfect, food perfect, service perfect! The only thing I could complain about is that I ordered a dish without bacon! Don’t make that mistake the bacon is amazingly Smokey and marvellous. Some of the best bacon ever!
It’s not the cheapest breakfast (7 dollars for a side of mushrooms) but it’s worth every penny
P. C.
Oh my God. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Close to home and great addition to NSW Central Coast dining options. Great restrooms. 5 stars not enough.

Food was was absolutely awesome and fabulous service, but it got far too hot sitting on the afternoon on the verandah. This definitely needs to be addressed because it spoiled an otherwise wonderful afternoon.

N. d. l. S.
Loved the ambience and the food. A hidden gem I’m glad we stumbled on.
B. S.
What a fantastic location! We sat outside on the wide balcony overlooking the lake. Before we sat down we had a drink at the bar on the saddles! Everything we ordered was very enjoyable. I had the pork loin with my other two companions enjoying the chicken pie and the barramundi. The chips were amazing! I would definitely come back here 👍
W. L.
Beautiful place, Great service, Wish I had more time to explore but I was embarking on a long road trip. My friend and I enjoyed the corn fritters with poached eggs. Only thing that I was a bit disappointed with was the mini size of my juice but otherwise, everything was amazing, including the bathrooms! Definitely worth coming here. I booked months in advance and double-checked during the week. Serene at 8am on Saturday.
J. K.
Beautiful venue and excellent food. Cauliflower tart was delectable. Friendly service.

M. M.
Pros:
Great views, green and peaceful environment, outdoor seating, I ordered almond latte and it was the best ever
Cons:
Requires booking, food is prepared before you order and it's cold, the bread was soaked in the parsley sauce and had lost its consistency, waffles were cold and not crispy
W. Y.
Dropped in for a pastry and coffee during a bike ride. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back and try breakfast or lunch.
C. S.

C. B.
A bit out of the way and limited menu. Beautiful restaurant with excellent staff.
D. N.
A gem tucked away in the middle of nowhere. Perfect stop when you’re on the way to the Hunter or Newcastle. Saddles is a beautiful restaurant perched on an artificial lake by a nursery. Great setting with beautiful decor and aspect. The food is top-notch too. It’s good value for fine dining fare with generous portions. Perfect for a long lunch. Deserts were well worth a try too - everything os bakes on-site and it shows.
W. S.
Surprisingly limited menu and staff a little aloof but a stunning venue.
D. L.
Great view, Great coffee, Great atmosphere but there isn't a great choice of food.
T. M.
Amazing food and service, set in a beautiful location.
