Absolutely sensational Thai food. We've travelled to Thailand several times, always seeking vendors that have mastered their cuisines and this made us feel like we were back in Thailand. This has got to be one of the best Thai meals we had in Australia across Sydney, Melbourne and Greater Newcastle. The wok flavour on the fried rice immediately let you know this was legitimate Thai, the Choo Chee duck was so flavourful and we picked the bones clean of the chilli basil snapper. The owner was also so incredibly nice.

Had some seafood dishes take away and they were delicious. Flavourful but not spicy hot. The crispy fish salad was very nice. Kids liked the fried rice and noodles.

Ordered the non spicy beef curry which was really good. Sticky rice with mango didn’t quite live up to the expectations though as the sticky rice was quite hard and the portion of sticky rice itself was pretty meagre. However, overall still a 4 star Thai restaurant.

A lovely welcoming host and venue. Authentic Thai style decor and outdoor seating area. The food is delicious, think its influence is Nth Thai; Chiang Mai? Great $12.50 lunch specials. Very atmospheric at night too.

Good food and fair price, we ordered 5 dishes and everybody was happy with their dish. I ordered Three Tasty - Crispy Fish and was very happy with it, veggies were cooked well, slight crunchy which is how I like. It was spicy in the right amount for me too, it wasn't too hot. Overall was good lunch I recommend it.

Just like a lot of the reviews say the food is very good. A Few people are saying different but can’t please everyone always going to be them people that whinge but their opinion means nothing just take a look how many people are saying their food is good and I’m going to agree with them the food is great I enjoyed every bit of my dinner and will be back.

Sanook is a fantastic traditional Thai restaurant and all the entrees and mains tried so far have been wonderful. The service is also over and above my most recent order included some vegan options for some family. They not only met the request but also modified other aspects to ensure they were completely vegan! I've only experienced the take-away so far however the dinning areas seem great and able to cater for everyone preference.

What is it that makes this restaurant so good? The hand made Curry Puffs? The creamy, flavour packed Green Chicken Curry? The herb filled Chicken Salad? the Chilli Calamari that always leaves me wanting just one more mouth full? The Mango and Sticky Rice desert that rounds out the meal perfectly? No. It's the friendly and helpful family owners that push Sanook Thai over the top for the best in the Bays, the food is delicious and you can taste their passion for their cuisine. Can't wait for my next visit.

Food was ok. Great amount of broccoli and tofu well cooked. Waitress was confused easily when we asked about vegan options but got there eventually. Staff all looked confused. Took an hour for them to clear tables and it wasnt busy. Over priced..

We had 2 entrees and 2 mains, 2 adults and 2 kids, all the food was fantastic. Satay chicken, salt and pepper squid, beautiful flavours. Oyster chicken for the kids, had a great smoky flavour. We had duck Red curry, sublime. More than enough food. Highly recommended.

First impression was good, nice establishment but the food was disappointing. I ordered a warm vegetable and tofu salad, there was no tofu in it at all, the "dressing" must have been some smelly oyster or fishy sauce. We intended to order dessert, but the service was so slow, we just got up and payed. Left underwhelmed.

Food was good including Beef Massuman, Pad Thai, Chicken Satay sticks, Money Bags. The Massuman did have a lot of sauce relative to the beef and potato level. Also ordered the steamed Barramundi pieces with ginger but could tell there wasn't any flavour in the Barra alone and the sauce was doing all the work. Ordered for pickup and the suggested time was quite good - 35 minutes which ended up being 45 minutes which is in an acceptable range.
