Saturday morning 10am arrival. No booking. Had to wait 20 mins for a table as we had dogs and there is only a small section to sit in with dogs because someone complained about dogs inside. Service is lovely. Coffee is good. Takeaway wait for coffee is reasonable. Ordered eggs and toastie and coffees $41 total for 2 people.Great vibe. Highly recommend but book if you don't want to wait. Excellent addition to the Leichhardt area away from Norton St. Re-awakening of this awesome area!

Coffee is amazing, ordered the Smashed Avocado Croissant with Bacon and scrambled eggs. Tasted really fresh and was very generous with the amount they gave. Service staff were very friendly, split bill is allowed, food was quick to arrive. Place is pet friendly and the menu has a lot of interesting items on it to make you want to go back again and again. Highly recommended.

Great coffee (roasted in-house from what I gathered), and delicious bacon & egg roll. I didn't enjoy the cheese toasty as much, I thought it was a bit bland and dry. My friend enjoyed the croissant, and the banana bread so 3/4 is still solid. Service was also very friendly, and the venue is nice and open. This place is tucked out of view on a little residential street, I'd recommend the detour if you're in the area. Prices as expected in the Inner West (unfortunately).

Surprised with this one actually. Coffee and tea were completely on point. The food was delicious and came out quite quickly which is nice when you have you a bit on. The truffle scrambled eggs was great and the not-so-shakshuka(?) eggs was also great. Overall, relatively happy.

A great neighbourhood cafe tucked away in a warehouse conversion just off Flood Street. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The coffee from Little Marionette was very good served in beautiful pottery mugs. The food... delicious. The hot cakes were very light and fluffy served with fresh fruit, toasted almonds and cream.

One of the best cafes in Leichhardt. Address says Flood Street but the entrance is just off to the side. It has a warehouse feel yet its modern, light & airy. The design is modern & crisp as are the staff who are friendly & efficient. Start with a well made Little Marionette coffee or perhaps a honey-like single origin from Ethiopia. The menu has good coverage for different tastes & is sprinkled with contemporary noted. Like Testsuya's truffled paste with scrambled eggs, or smashed avo on black star pastry croissant. Traditional items like hashbrowns are made so well - golden, super crispy, fluffy inside with the perfect sprinkle of sea salt on top. The ricotta hotcakes comes in a big stack & is so fluffy & delicious. If your in need of something light or just a snack, there is a great range of pastries & sweets that line the smooth shiny counter. Great little hidden gem.

Great little spot hidden inside a warehouse on the small back streets of Leichhardt. A true inner west experience. This little gem offers great food, service and coffee in an unique urban environment. The smashed beetroot with poached eggs and quinoa was amazing - light and refreshing. Must have!

Popped in for brunch on a monday, coffee was excellent (sparkling single origin top notch!). I had "The Burger" which was delicious, my wife had the pork carnitas which were alright, her comment was "a tad dry, could have used a sauce and/or some chilli". Overall a great meal, would definitely come back!

Nice vibe, guys. Coffee on point in some cute Japanese (?) ceramics. The wait staff were pleasant and accommodating. I ordered a vegetarian number but was surprised to not have it have quinoa in it as the menu had stated? Correct me if I'm wrong. However, they did allow me to replace the avocado I asked to leave out which has never been asked of me before - that was a nice touch of service. If I'm ever around again, I will be back.

The setting is lovely and we managed to find parking easily on a Sunday morning. The hot chocolate was delicious but the brunch portions were very small for the prices charged (and what we're used to elsewhere). We don't usually have to order anything extra for our 18 month old girl as she usually just has food from our plates but today we had to order an extra piece of toast as both the not-so-shakshuka eggs and pork carnitas weren't sizeable at all. Maybe we just eat too much?!

Just felt the veggie bowl could have had more vegetables or slightly larger portion for me; it being breakfas, delicious and recommended nonetheless. But from everything else I saw being served out there the portions seemed right and so was my partners meal. Simple and charming place. Lovely service, trendy and food was tasty but extremely small portions. We ordered the smashed avo which arrived on a tiny crossant. My partner was left hungry and had to order another meal which ended up being expensive. Unfortunately because of this I won't be going back.

Really amazing coffee !!! We went at peak time on sat - managed to get a seat right away. Took a little longer than average to get food, which was fine! So worth the waiting time when busy! We are really enjoy our brunch here. I had a veggie bowl and it was really good dish, tasty & light and yet filling in the same time. Their drinks are really good too. We had a latte, filter on ice and hot chocolate, they all made with love and delicate from premium products. Their staffs are friendly and their space are nice with high ceiling. We definitely will be back to this place!

I absolutely love this place. Customer service is phenomenal and the kitchen always accommodates for the changes I make to menu items because I'm one of those fussy eaters. Coffee is great and the place is the most dog friendly I've seen. Most foods are great but was disappointed with a few, e.g. the three cheese toasty. It's more on the expensive side but the menu items that are delicious and service is worth it. It's also in a cool warehouse location and parking is really easy.

I visited here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and have already been back. The coffee is great and the staff are lovely! I’m keen to try different things on the menu because it all looks fab but I’ve honestly never had eggs as good as the truffle eggs and so it can be hard to deviate! The atmosphere is class and, whilst I hope it stays quiet enough for me to always get a table, I can’t recommend The Carpenter highly enough.

Cool cafe. I like cafes that are tucked away in an old warehouse or factory in a quiet street. Check out their scrambled eggs and avo in a croissant, very good. Staff are nice and friendly. Seating outside is great if you want to catch some sun rays. Coffee by Little Marionette. 8/10

Friendly service, great pork carnitas, great assortment for people who want to eat healthy or cheat meal, as well as caters to many dietary requirements. Tucked away in a little quiet street 2 min walk from Leichhardt Marketplace shopping centre.

Whilst it is a little out of the way, once we found it we were pleasantly surprised with the service and quality of the food. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and took the time to go through the menu. I had the pulled pork and the other half had some form of rabbit food that she said was delicious. Most importantly the coffee is pretty decent.

Took our four year old there and we've never seen her go through pancakes so fast, I managed steal a morsel, and wow it was so light and fluffy! Highly recommended the truffle eggs and their bacon and egg roll. Touch on the expensive side, but by far the best cafe on this side of Leichhardt.

Great people, fantastic atmosphere with food to match. Nestled off the main road, this place is a hidden gem. The staff really appreciate good coffee and it shows. The carpenter is a great meeting place for coffee and a bite to eat. It has a real sense of community as its become a local fav.

A busy cafe, but they were still able to seat us quickly. Coffee is fantastic. The kitchen was slammed so we ended up waiting far too long for or breakfast. When it eventually arrived it was delicious. Wife had the hotcakes and said they were the best she'd ever had. I had the carpenters breakfast which was good. It is hard to stuff up a big breakfast. It had plenty of bacon and large slices of toast but that may have been a compensation for the long wait. Next time I will order something a little more creative like the smashed peas or shakshuka. I will definitely be back to see if they deserve 5 stars.

Nice spot on the side street of flood st, quite hidden, but once you find it, you will always remember where the Carpenter is. Come in always with a group of friends. I had a pull pork roll today, it was tasty and juicy, love the green salad on side, add a bit of healthy elements :) Their music and atmosphere is great and the staff are polite & efficient. Their Coffee is super sophisticated ! Will definitely become our new meeting point. Highly recommended.

very interesting place. it has an industerial vibe. we went there on a weekend (Sunday morning) for a coffee, after reading some reviews about the place. It was very busy around 10:30 and we were lucky to find a table. seeing how busy place gives you a good indication about how good they are. The service was very good and the staff were lovely, as 3 of them came to us separately asking if we need to order (after we placed our order. lol). The coffee was excellent. I reckon coffee lovers should try it. the food wasn't bad for a cafe. And definately we will visit it again.

I’m so thankful they let us shelter from the rain with the dog. But I’m so sad that this cafe is no longer dog friendly because someone made a report to council. It was such a great cafe to take our little puppy to but now we are unable to do that. The food is great and will still go there for that.

Good Food and well made coffee, good service, lovely staff. Went twice yesterday whilst around the area. We've been there before and will go again, but on a question mark. The only negative and it's a big one. Many well behaved dogs. Sweet greyhounds, little corgis, blue heelers and tiny dogs as well. Lovely to sit and pat them. Then there was a Staffy cross. Went savagely at other dogs. We sat in the next to it and had to move. Copped a mouthful from the dog owner when we questioned the dogs lack of control when it nearly took a chunk out of my partner. Perhaps keeping staffy type breeds outside or giving warnings to owners.
