Comments of The Spice Room
S. J.
Friendly staff. Loved the ambience of the space. Staff was friendly. The samosa chaat was great. We enjoyed the seekh kebab as well. The Dhaba style chicken was a little less spicy for the medium spicy that we ordered but the meat was cooked very well. The food was not too heavy and seemed very fresh.
We loved out experience here and will definitely go back to try more of their menu.

This place is decorated with all the historic photos and items.
It's small and cramped and there is not much distance between tables (especially with current situation).
The dishes are well over-priced for the quantity that is offered, this might be because of the location and lack of competition in the nearby area.
The Amritsari fish fry cost $20 for 3 pieces, chicken curry $28. Taste wise its ok, nothing worth mentioning. Good to visit once, but i will try to stay clear.

I liked the interiors and particularly the toilet interiors and entrance were really good and rustic. The palak paneer was good but nothing special. The high prices were understandable as it is located at circular quay but the place was too small and compact to sit around people so close. The paneer sizzler was not actually how a paneer sizzles and was a total disappointment as it was just 4 pieces of paneer cubes without any prominent flavour. The service was also decent. Overall nothing too special for the price to come back.

Positive experience overall
Place - Looks good and cozy place. Ambient lighting and good interiors which shows has character and culture to it.
Food- Food is tasty and flavourful. I definitely recommend. There is a perfect balance in the taste which satisfy the Indian tastebuds and foreign tastebuds. I love how they serve pappadums when the customer arrives.
Price- I think the prices are pretty fair for the location and the quality of food, place and service. Usually every restaurant charges almost same price. Quantity is also good.

Great experience over here was not too hungry still manage to eat a lot and the decor n ambience is really cozy.
Food was very good fresh n well cooked not to spice not to oily.
Staff was very good to converse with.
I enjoyed the open kitchen windows where u can see the chef cook and that makes me very inquisitive that magic is he doing in there.
D. W.
Food great! We loved it. Traditional Indian cuisine on the menu but also some more unique dishes. As frequent visitors to India, we enjoyed the Indian decor and Kingfisher on tap. We will definitely be back!
P. S.
Excellent service and food. Friendly staff. Location is good but just a little tugged in so not lot of foot fall by the visitors of opera house. Good food and fast service. Sitting area is less so book in advance I possible. Enough space one or two large group. Nicely decorated also.

Delicious Vegan Food
One of the easiest to read menus I've read with clearly marked and identifiable vegan options, with a good variety.
Staff were very nice, food quick to come and atmosphere grand.
Little hard to tell if they were open from the outside.
B. M.
Beautiful little gem near Circular Quay. Goan fish curry is my all time fav here. Love the ambience. Gulaab jamun is highly recommended too.
R. F.
Amazing food and service
Kadai paneer and butter lacha naan was very tasty.
G. A.
The place is my favourite indian restaurant in Sydney. Booking system is a breeze, the staff is great, the food is delicious (both entrees and mains) and a good choice of drinks as well. Fav is their Goat Curry. Highly recommended.
S. G.
After hearing great reviews, my partner and I booked our anniversary here and was not disappointed. We got the banquet for two and what a feast!! The meals were delicious, the paneer & rogan josh 10/10, and we fell in love with new dishes/flavours we hadn't tried before.
It's not a 'cheap' venue but not at all unreasonable, the food quality surpasses the price tag. We will definitely be back.
A. C.
We love this place. The meals from different India regions are amazing, so are the staff and the decoration of the place.
My best Indian restaurant in Sydney.
S.
Wow! Ambience is perfect. Decor is well done. Service is attentive and genuine. Food is full of flavor and hits the spot. I would recommend and come back next time I’m in town. My only note is that most of the curries are prepped at a Pre made spice level, and I did not try and that were adequately spicy for me (like it HOT!). So you will want to add your own on the side, which they can bring out for you.
L. S.
The food was amazing. Enjoyed every bite. The service was friendly and knowledgeable too, just a little slow to get going but there could have been issues elsewhere. The restaurant itself is cosy and inviting.
K. T. E.
Great ambience, good food and quick service.
I don't see what the complaints are about but for the location; it's a fair price.
Coming to the flavour which is very close to reality and I would not expect anything less.
I recommend coming here with a date. (not a standard Indian family restaurant or an Indian restaurant in India. If you are expecting that then you will be disappointed.)
K. A.
Best Indian restaurant I have tried
$65pp banquet was really worth it, from entrees to dessert everything was delicious, and there was so much food leftover which they offered to take away for us. Great customer service, friendly staff
S. B.
Great venue for family dinner. Food was very tasty and well priced. No view, but great ambiance and close to circular quay.
S. B.
Quite disappointed - given the price, I expected much better in terms of ambience, service and quality of food.
Came here for a wedding celebration - the space we were allocated was very cramped and small - for the number of guests we had. The table was not in a suitable position (right next to the cashier and entrance), with limited ability to move in and out. Surely, given the notice provided and size of our booking, we could have got a better space.
The restaurant was so loud, it was very difficult to hear what the staff were saying, and staff often seemed disinterested. (Can’t blame the staff for this)
The portion of food provided was more than adequate, however the quality of food was average at best - particularly the starters. The goat curry was excellent though. As were the cocktails. In relation to price (we had to go with a set menu), it was not worth the money.
For desserts - we had no choice between kulfi and gulab jamun even though we were offered this at the time of booking. Kulfi was not available and we were offered no alternatives.
Worst of all, staff attempted to short change us on the quantity of alcohol provided - at one stage some of us had to request the serve to be poured into a glass for measurement, to confirm that we were short changed.
There are far better Indian restaurants in Sydney, I would not want to spend another dollar here again, and would not recommend anyone come here.

We visited the Spice Room back in April. Very lively and busy restaurant that is conveniently located at the tip of Circular Quay. The staffs were very friendly and the service was great.
We ordered Railway Canteen Goat Curry, Chennai Express Beef Curry, Hot Malabar Fish Curry and Yellow Dhal (w/o Spinach). The food was good, but overpriced (I mean, they even charged us for plain white rice!?! Where I’m from in the USA, that’s free w/ any curry dishes).
But the best part was their interior decos (especially the restroom)...absolutely LOVED it!! I have never seen a restroom filled with s-o many old pics (which I completely adored and enjoyed watching) :)
b. p.
A lovely setup at the circular quay for Indian food , the menu is good for both veg and non veg food and taste of food great.. quantity per sevjng is less for the price being charged. The service was slow for us.. and staff was not very convincing..or even offered a snack for the kid due to delay from their end which would have gone a long way in showing customer first attitude
S. P. B.
The location is great for people looking to eat Indian food around the Sydney Opera House or Circular Quay. I felt the ambience was nice and the atmosphere was lively, even for late in the evening. Everything that I ate was quite good. The only complaints that we had were that we felt our mango lassi wasn’t sweet and the paneer pakora were quite bland. Otherwise, we enjoyed our experience here!
S. K.
Ordered the 2 course Banquet , everything was pretty good. The medium spice level is actually not spicy at all. The cocktails are pretty good, my friend found Queen's necklace absolutely amazing, I'm sure the name helped in that too. The white wines are just average. Decor is absolutely fantastic!! Reservations are a must any day.
T. H.
Interesting location watching the train go by from the window. Service is good, menu ok.
A. M.
Excellent food and service. We had the beet patties, spinach dish, veggie pakoras, and samosas, and eggplant with spices. Very good, just enough spice. The mango lassi was large and good. Feeling blessed to have eaten here.
L. G.
All curries tasted the same, spice level is pretty low for an Indian restaurant. Service is good though.
S. A.
Good Indian food with great ambience. The starters and the chaats were our favourites. The place is usually busy, even on weekdays, so you have to make reservation on time.
R. G. A.
I had never been in a luxury Indian restaurant like The Spice Room. I was impressed for the quality of the food, perfectly prepared and cooked. On the other hand, it maybe could be a little bit expensive for some people, especially if you want to order alcoholic drinks. The service was correct.
T. R.
Great food, great ambience. Feels like a restaurant in India. The paneer Mirchi was amazing!! Patel as the host was very good too. They actually found a table for us right away although we hadn't reserved which was very sweet of them to do! Cheers guys!
Oh and they also made a buttermilk on request off the menu as well! Try it. It's a 🌟!
R. M.
Great 👍 Indian restaurant conveniently located at Circular Quay. The service and ambience is ok (the restaurant is really small with lots of tables so it can feel a bit cramped) but the food is the real star ⭐️ here. If you're after fantastic kebabs and tandoori chicken 🍗 then visit Spice Room. We shared 2 entrees, Pani Puri (traditional Delhi street food) and Seekh Kebabs both of which were very generous in size but the winner is the Tandoori Platter - anyone going to the Spice Room has to try this. We had the Shahi Paneer as a main but after all the kebabs to start we could hardly fit anything else but had to get my favourite carrot cake (or Gajar Ka Halwa in Hindi). All in all great place to try and I'll definitely be going back!
O.
In the curry section, both paneer khurchan and chicken khurchan are worth trying. Specially the chicken one. The veg as well as non veg biryani are below average. In desserts, gulab jamun was awesome. Best gulab jamun i ever had in Sydney.
R. L.
Amazing Indian Cuisine. Delicious curries, great samosas, fun cocktails, and Kingfisher beer on tap. The atmosphere is also nice, and it's steps away from Circular Quay. Super easy to find, and you can also make reservations online. Try the korma!
A.
The Ambience was good, the place seemed little crammed up. Location near Circular Quay great. Could do with better lighting specially in the washroom. The Food Was Awesome. Ordered Chicken Biryani, Non Veg Platter, Paneer Tikka, Daal Makhani, Paneer Tikka Masala Curry, Butter Chicken and the Dips were amazing. A down side was the uneven flooring did not realize till a companion tripped and the staff was so prepared as if they experience it often. :-)
H.
I had a nice dinner here on a work trip. Dropped by around 7pm and even though the place was full, the staff managed to sit the 3 of us quickly.
Food was amazing, had curries with naan and rice. Will certainly return when I get the cravings for Indian food.
M. K.
Food was soooo delicious! And the staff were so friendly and welcoming, really family orientated atmosphere. Would recommend
R. B.
Excellent restaurant and delicious food, preparation, ambience, cool staff. Book your table on weekends by calling or online booking. Always full because of its tasty food dishes.
G. H.
Great location and charming restaurant with great decor (including WCs). Clean and tidy, food was ok and moderately priced - possibly overpriced but the location would have something to do with that. Staff were efficient and friendly.
J. L.
Amazing food and friendly staffs. Spice room butter chicken, classic naan and ginger masala tea are highly recommended. The 10% surcharge on public holidays totally worth it!
B. R.
Some of the best Indian food I've tasted outside of India. The Spice Room is authentically decorated, including a hand painted wall (that's not wallpaper!). One of the numerous things I liked was the menu - they have moved beyond bog-standard Indian menus. I particularly liked the green chilli paneer sandwich dipped in chickpea batter and fried. I went twice for dinner over three days. I wish I could have eaten more!
A. K.
Really wanted to like this place. Visiting from NYC, we could tell by the aromas this place could throw down some good desi eats. We arrived at 5p, when they opened and immediately put our order in including the Tandoor fish ($39aud) as we know it can take a while to cook. Enjoyed some Kingfishers while we waited the 30-40 minutes for our food.
Side note: a nagging worry for me when I am first to be seated at a restaurant is that I am going to be served yesterday‘s catch.
Fish comes out, we dig right in and immediately we can tell that the fish is old. It’s chewy, and not tasty at all. The spiced rubbed on it were tasted but the fish itself was like chewing an leather boot. I guess they took us for some jerks and thought we wouldn’t notice/complain. To their credit they did apologize profusely but passed off the blame by saying “we just cook what we are given” - not taking full responsibility for the poor quality of what we were served. They replaced our red snapper with another fish curry dish which was tasty but our bill at the end was not discounted for the swap. Eventually it all got settled out but we left with a bad taste in our mouths.
B.
Circular Quay's best kept secret. I have lived here for 4 years now and only discovered it on Google. Nice low-key environment, fast service and great food. Lots of good mocktail options I am excited to try. Food was authentic, yummy and staff were friendly. Service was oddly fast. The rice also looked like it had been well cared for and that usually speaks volumes about a food establishment such as this one.
L. S.
Had been there couple of times for lunch and dinner during our visit to Sydney as tourists. Both veg and non-veg Indian items are served. Quite popular among Indians and other Nationalities. Since it’s a small restaurant, lot of noise has to be expected. Good and tasty food.
G. R.
I have been going to this restaurant since the first time I came to Sydney in 2015 to see Vivid Light Festival. It was could rainy night and we wanted hot food.
Something spicy to beat the cold tada Indian food!
This was the closest restaurant and yay we got table without any waiting time.
Food was delicious although back then i found it a little expensive, however food was good and we were happy.
I have been there a couple of times and tastes were always consistent and enjoyable until my recent visit (again for Vivid) I found flavours different. The only thing that tasted the same as always was dal bukhara.
Keep in mind the restaurant is always busy specially if you are coming during weekends or for vivid or some other festivals around Circular Quay. They have limited seating so waiting is
I found one interesting drink here A BHANG LASSI ( HEMP BUTTERMILK).
I am giving 4 starts for my overall experience so far but if i just count last visit it will be somewhere around 2.5
I came to know from a friend that they have another branch now somewhere in innerwest and i was wondering if there is shuffle of staff/chefs to make mark in new place, who knows?
N. G.
Loved every bit of it !! One of the best Indian resturants in town.
Ambience -5*
Staff -5*
Food -5*
Wait time to be seated -make reservations to avoid disappointment
Wait time for food -its a busy resturant, wait time for mains was a bit to high. But hey, it was one of the yummiest indian food you can get in Sydney.
We ordered pani puri shots, dahi puri, black lentil daal bukhara, paneer kurchan.. needless to say all our dishes were well done.
Highly recommended !!! Will cone back again...
D. J.
Amazing food with excellent decor and location. Try the vegetable samosa! Best saffron chicken korma I've ever had! A reservation is a good idea.
L. T.
Amazing delicious food, nice staff and good drinks and cocktails! I went here with my Indian friend for the first time and we still go back every time we are both in Sydney. The Gulab Jamun dessert is out of this world.. we had two portions and it was worth every calorie! Can’t wait to go back.
A. B.
Great food and wonderful service. Thank you for a lovely lunch with 2 friends.
A. C.
Good food. Fast service. Reception and staff attitude can improve. They don't need to give a glance at what food am eating and why am asking for sugar if I ask for some. And if I don't order for more naan or bread when there's gravy remaining, again no need to take a look at my gravy suggestively to say I may need more!
C. L.
The best curry sauces ever. This was a wonderful meal and value for money.
D. N.
Authentic Indian food . A bit pricey but worth it . Nice interiors . Found a piece written in Kannada too 😊
H. H.
Bit pricey, but food and mango lassi was the best. Butter chicken is a must try, entree platter wasn’t that great.
K. G.
In my opinion the best Indian in the city. Food is always fresh and tasty.
R. G.
Pretty popular, so worth booking. Very good service and meals freshly prepared and nicely presented in a very timely fashion. One of the better chicken curries I have tasted. Worth a visit.
J. A.
Had a good time at this place , wonderful Indian ambiance.. one of the best desserts ever had ..!!
Car parking is in our own..
K. S.
I was really pleased with the meal after a great recommendation from the waiter. A buzy place with a nice environment!
J. P.
My partner brought me here as a lovely treat. I really enjoyed everything we ate that night. Not too spicy. On the pricey end. Good atmosphere.
R. L.
One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to in Sydney, the food is sublime, service is great and the staff are helpful. Location is great, albeit a bit cramped inside but not too bad. Definitely recommend going here, best Indian food that I've had in the CBD by far.
M. L.
Great food, great staff, great cocktails. You must try their Pani Puri, a real delight that you rarely see on menus. It's a small restaurant and can be quite noisy but for me that only adds to a great atmosphere!
K. F.
Great location in Circular Quay. Lovely intimate restaurant with friendly service and fantastic food.
We ordered the Chicken korma, Goan Fish Curry and Yellow Dhal with Saffron Rice. All we’re superb, we shall definitely be back on our next visit to Sydney.
J. R.
Went there seeing great reviews but was disappointed. Ambience and service was great. However food was OK. Dont miss to take a glance in the restroom ;)
J. B.
Really, really good Indian! Quite busy in there (understandably). Restaurant is pretty cool and has a lively atmosphere. Well done chefs we'll definitely be back :)
J. C.
A little bit pricey, but a cozy and enjoyable restaurant with delicious food
M. K.
Yes if your are Muslim, on holidays and staying at circular quay, it's the best place to dine in, to revive your Desi taste buds.
S. B.
Solid Indian option in the Sydney CBD. Everyone was pleased their appetizers and entrees.
N. S.
So very authentic. We started with chicken tandoori and samosas. The tandoori was smoky and perfectly cooked. The samosa was great with crumbling pastry and spiced filling.
We then went on to butter chicken, lamb Madras and vegetable masala. The lamb was a little chewy at times but that's how I personally enjoy it. The butter chicken was just the right amount of creamy and spicy.
We finished with Gulab Jamin which was soft and syrupy.
I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for an Indian meal near the CBD of Sydney.
a. p. k.
Hotel Ambience and the Services is good. The food is okay not much spicy.
s. k.
Amazing food with great indian flavors
Experience not to be missed.
Best Cheesy naan i ever had in Sydney.
Excellent customer service specially by Ramesh and Rachna who accomodated us at last minute.
Overall deserve 5 stars nothing less.
We surely will come back.
J. G.
Beautiful location, amazing texture and interior with attention to detail and fantastic service + food
V. C.
It may look like an average Indian restaurant but The Spice Room is truly amazing...
I visited the restaurant with my girlfriend and was greeted by the friendly staff and delightful aroma of garlic naan which was getting cooked at that time .
I personally loved the samosa chat and the seafood fantasy platter . The bread was crispy and flavourful as expected . By the end of the meal we we’re already planning to visit this restaurant again. This restaurant in my top favourite now!!!
R. K.
I loved it.
We got here just after 5 on a Sunday; although they had just opened for the evening, there were several patrons already. Good sign.
The staff are very hospitable and genuine.
The food... magnificent. Nothing stodgy or greasy like some Indian establishments. The condiment selection was well considered, and the curries spot on.
By the time we left the restaurant it was filled with diners.
I would definitely recommend The Spice Room to anyone at Circular Quay looking for a satisfying meal and/or a delectable curry.
J. W.
Authentic and incredibly flavoursome Indian food with phenomenal decor and ambience. Generous servings, highly recommend the banquet which gives you a taste of several of their dishes. Quickly becoming my favourite Indian restaurant in Sydney, came here with my wife on date night!
P. R.
Spice Room situated in the heart of circular quay was all in all an ok experience. The prices were not overt, considering the location, the staff were friendly, the Entrees were good. For entrees we had the Dahi Batta Dev Puri, Star Anish Chicken Tikka and Achari fish tikka(only ok) . Mains were a major let down, literally nothing was good. We had - Goat Curry, Dhaba style chicken, chicken kurchan, bhoona beef. I was frankly hoping for better.
M. 8.
Great food, good atmosphere and good service. There's a nice ambiance to the place. It's busy and in a tourist area so definitely recommend a reservation. The waiting staff are excellent however the girl taking the orders seems a little disinterested. Another let-down is the food isn't "authentic" Indian and is low on spice and flavour, good quality and great portions, reasonable prices however not a traditional Indian restaurant. Perhaps having an option of spiciness would fix this.
곽.
Recommended by an Indian friend. Just next to circular quay station.
j. b.
Had a beautiful lunch at Spice Room. The butter chicken was absolutely delicious. The naan was absolutely amazing. Will definitely be coming back.
S. M.
I like the taste of this restaurant. It’s pretty good than other so many Indian restaurants. Loved their naan, tandoori mushroom. The only thing for which I am giving 4 stars is that the options are bit limited on menu. Would be great if they have more options. The staff is very friendly.
D. W.
There are some positives in that it's a nice restaurant interior and some of the dishes are tasty. I do feel it is overpriced and that many portions are too small, especially the onion bhaji starter. The sauce that came with the bhajis was a little overpowering, as was the sauce that came with the complementary popadoms (which is a nice touch though). Our other starter was dahi batata sev puri which was really way too much sauce inside these little hollow crispy balls. We would have needed more bhajis to soak up all this sauce and my insides complained at me for eating these balls. This starter needs something else inside it and a lot less sauce. The mains were much better, but the tikka masala was too oily, as was the cheese and mushroom naan. We felt that the staff hovered a bit too much and kept removing plates when we still had bits of salad etc left to finish. Despite the 2 hour slot, we felt rushed, especially as soon as we had finished eating. We didn't really feel that we could be left alone to sit, chat and rest at the end of our meal.
R. K.
Nice Indian style ambience and food, good staff !
P. B.
I came across this place by accident and wandered in not knowing what to expect. What a lucky find! Great food, great service and Kingfisher on draft! You must try the Pani Puri Shots and anything cooked in their clay oven is highly recommended.
w. M.
By comparison, with other Indian eateries I've experienced in Australia, this place tops the list. The flavours are subtle and aromatic. Portions were more than satisfactory and service good. Undoubtedly this place has a long and loyal customer line because of their position, quality and eye for detail.
For the price, I rate Spice Room very highly on the Sydney Restaurant scene.
L. R.
Great Indian restaurant. The food tasted incredible - spicy but not blow your head off and wasn't greasy. The place is quite small but there is one really excellent table that has a window looking through into the kitchen so for the whole meal you can watch the Tandoor man making the chicken kebabs and naan breads - really adds to the experience. Price was reasonable - maybe a little on the expensive side.
D. R.
Good service, Average food. I ordered for lamb Rogan Josh which was very bland and very hard meat. Their butter chicken was too sweet for my taste, maybe suited for the Aussie palate, non spicy. The dahi puri bata chaat was quite good, hit the right notes!!
S. N.
Authentic Indian food. Loved the spices and the ambience.
E. O.
Delicious dinner to celebrate a family birthday. Attentive staff from the moment we arrived. Great range to choose from on menu. Food came very promptly, but cardamom spiced tea took almost an hour to arrive! Will certainly go back.
K. R.
Great Ambience and great location. Next to Circular quay station. Amazing drinks collections and great food choices. Suitable for Indian Vegetarian and Non vegetarian food lovers. Friendly staff and book your seat in advance to get a place. Otherwise you will be asked to wait for one or two hours
R. G.
Ambience is too dark for our liking.
Slow service. Cramped up table setting.
Complimentary papad basket.
Chicken Chettinaad is good but oily.
Prawns biryani had good meaty prawns but the biryani was too oily and left our throats with uncomfortable oily sensation and coarse voice. I would like to know what kind of oil they are using.
D. K. M.
A nice restaurant close to circular Quay. Not very big so be ready for waiting.table booking is definitely recommend. On weekends too busy. Take away order also takes half an hour. I took vegetable biryani and it was tasty. Will visit in future and try some dishes to know overall good experience. It's somewhat expensive.
B. S.
I got the butter chicken, which I'll be honest was fabulous. I'd definitely go there again. Rice was tender and naan was crispy, yet fluffy.
The reason I'm knocking it down to three was my wife ordered the Mushroom masala. Best we could tell there was no indication it was spicy and it was definitely pretty spicy. She had trouble even with just a few bites and I agreed (as a person who enjoys a little spice myself). The restaurant offered to give us some yogurt which was nice but didn't help. If we had known, she'd have ordered something else.
In any case, this place is great just be careful about what you order!
J. L.
Really attentive service from the wait staff and good came out pretty quickly. Pleasantly surprised to find a decent Indian restaurant around Circular Quay and for a very reasonable price.
We had the banquet that was $59 per head and the amount of food that came out was crazy. I think we had enough leftovers to feed everyone one more time.
Would come back, although I might just order a la carte next time.
Y.
Fantastic chicken briyani.. Rivals those u get in hyderabad
R. B.
Great Indian restaurant. Consistently delivers yummy flavours. Recommended for anyone that likes Indian food. My favorite Indian in Sydney.
S. F. D.
Wow, hidden gem. Great food and decor.
V. N.
Good Indian food. The chat items are very tasty. However, prefer making a reservation, specially, when you are in a group. If there are too many reservations, they may not entertain you and the waiting time may be very high. You may still get a seat or two if you are a pair. Cost is on the higher side.
S. K.
We were really looking forward to this place but unfortunately quite disappointed with the experience.
Whilst food itself wasn't bad (and hence the 3 stars), everything else overshadowed the experience. We have a 7 month old and booked a high chair but were never told there's no room for a pram so it was really hard to juggle with a tired infant and food on the table. They also got our banquet order wrong and finally said didn't have dessert in stock because the supplier didn't show. Never mentioned anything at the time we placed the order. Very disappointed and won't be going back.
R. P.
Right on circular quay.. this place is an authentic North Indian restaurant which is always bustling and busy.. and rightly so as the food lives up to it's name. Spicy and flavourful, the food takes you back to Indian roots sitting right here in Australia! Place is a bit small in size and a bit noisy at peak hours but all worth it in the end.
M. S.
My favourite indian restaurant. They serve southern indian food, and never disappointed me. I always choose from the daily special dishes. The decoration is classy. The service is amazing.
Note: The place is small and always busy so I recommend booking before going specially in peak hours.
A. R.
Good lndian restaurant in Sydney very close to harbour. Interior is an ancient type with small sitting arrangements. Prices are a bit expensive. Will get the flavour of Curry Leaves in all the items which l didn't like much.
W. W.
Very good Indian food and good service.
I was dissapointed that they were not accepting the government $25 dine out vouchers.
M. S.
Was a real pleasant experience considering my husband and i rarely eat indian food. The flavours were fantastic and overall it was really enjoyable. Service was top class and the ambience of the place was perfect.

I went here on a weekend night an was lucky to get a table without a reservation. I'm skeptical about Indian food because restaurants adulterate the taste to meet international standards. But not this one restaurant, folks if you are in the mood for authentic spicy or hot Indian food head over here. I ate masala papad, bainjan bharta, mix seafood platter, and the cook, taste of the spices were spot on. Though the restaurant has limited seating, it makes up in the ability of the staff to turn tables quickly with a friendly attitude. I would recommend the place for authentic Indian food and will come back again to try out their South Indian Cuisine.
T. S.
Food is not too bad...but service definitely needs to be improved. If you're out of stock of something in a banquet, then let people know at the time of order placement. Staff mixed up few curries as well 3 times!
W. T.
The Spice Room surprisingly had a queue waiting to get in on a Monday evening but after tasting all the delicious selections of Indian cuisine it was obvious why every seat was taken. We had several selections of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes with garlic naan and each were bursting with flavor.
P. S.
Great place to have Indian in the city. It is usually hard to find vegetarian choices but spice room serves really yummy Indian food. We regularly dine in and do take aways for work. Love the place. Only feedback is they need a bigger place.
S. K.
Amazing food, atmosphere' staff.... 100% you must go there 💞
D. K.
Took clients today & had the banquet. Th best service & food. I’m so glad I made the decision to come here. The food was explained & delicious. Would certainly recommend. It was full, booking recommended.
C. X.
The food is great and staff super friendly. The vindaloo could be a little hotter but it still tasted great. I loved the decor. Get the ginger masala tea after dinner, it's the best tea I have in a long time.
R. L.
Very busy and noisy when we visited at 7pm without a booking, so we had to wait, but it was worth it. The service was quick, the naan platter with dips was good and my wife's biryani was fine, however the goat curry was spectacular - nicely spiced with a depth and richness that was sensational. I would go again just for that one dish.
A. A.
A lovely Indian restaurant in the middle of circular quay which is equally good for takeaway and dining in. It is a little on the expensive side, but the food quality and service is always good. The location is very convenient for work team dinners as well as dinner before anything at the opera house. The starters are a real highlight so be sure to order a selection.
J. O.
The spice room was fantastic, the service was amazingly personal, the food was so delicious and bountiful, we had a wonderful evening, French rose, and it was very good. Very enjoyable and would go back there.
T. C.
Tender, flavorful, just the right amount of melted cheese. The sauce was sublime- it had depth and a balanced tomato flavor that perfectly complimented the crispy and tender chicken Breast. Bring that first date or special someone and don't miss out on their Berkshire pork chop
R. S.
Really great find. Right there by circular quay, in very touristy area, but excellent. It compares well with Indian restaurants we love in London. Creative approach with some dishes. Wanted to try everything on the menu and the items we did try were great.
T. Z.
On the pricey side of the door but the food tastes very good
C. S.
My group loved the food here (minus the strawberry rose lassi...that tastes like pepto bismol imho). There are unqiue twists on Indian classics (eg hazelnut chai) that I appreciated and the gajar ke helwa was the best I've evee had. The ambiance is quite nice too.
H. L.
Great food, must try the tandoor mixed grill platter!
J. W.
Went here for a late Saturday lunch. The staff were friendly and food came out very fast. I ordered the butter chicken and cheese naan. The cheese naan was the best I've ever had. My partner ordered goat curry. He was really unsure of whether to order this as goat can be very difficult to get right. He said it was fantastic. With 2 drinks, 2 mains, rice, naan and poppadoms it was just under $100. For the location, service and quality of food, I'd say goood value for money as well.
N. K.
Food is very delicious and breads are soft, I love it. I want to come again here but only the thing is price is little high.
A. B.
In all the years I have walked past the area I had never noticed this little hidden gem. Great Indian with an awesome decor.
If you are chasing some authentic Indian cuisine I don't think you can look past The Spice Room.
S. R.
Best Indian in Sydney: tried virtually all the meat and seafood over the last three years and it's never lower than a 9 out of 10. Just back from a prawn vindaloo which was, rarely for a vindaloo, authentic and tasted exactly like they do in goa.
P. N.
I have been there in 2018 and hand on heart, I have never tasted such delicious Indian cuisine, like ever in my entire life. Being a vegetarian Indian, I’d say this place is a must must try. 🤤
The ambiance will leave you in awe.

Authentic sub-continent food, one of the best in town. Highly recommended for spice lovers looking for great service!
A. F.
Good food at reasonable prices. Goat curry was fantastic
C. N.
Food is amazing! I’ve been twice now and always look forward to coming back. Great location for a bite to eat before the theatre or night out in the city. Couldn’t flaw their customer service or food. Everything was delicious! The bathrooms are also incredible, I couldn’t stop staring at everything on the walls! Can’t wait to visit again!
R. N.
Absolutely wonderful. Amazing food and the works.

In all the years I have walked past the area I had never noticed this little hidden gem. Great Indian with an awesome decor. …
A. J.
Food was good but overpriced and quantity is also less. #LocationEffect
B. S.
I got the butter chicken, which I'll be honest was fabulous. I'd definitely go there again. Rice was tender and naan was crispy, yet fluffy. …
R. K.
Best Indian food in Sydney - fresh and authentic!
A. B.
Fantastic ambiance and excellent food. Wide array of dishes. Interior decor is very nice with great views. Very good service. Definitely good value for money.
H. S.
I love this place and their food
H. C.
A bit disappointed after visiting for dinner tonight. They didn't bring water for ages, then forgot to bring out my main and I had to wait for them to make it - by which time my family he finished. They didn't fill up drinks and also forgot to bring out the sources we'd ordered. Food was tastey but the service was a let down. Also for rushed to finish three times so they could turn over the table. This meant they missed out on us ordering more champers and dessert....not great business acumen as the poor experience means we won't be going back. The atmosphere and decor was good.
P. P.
Great food...the service is a bit slow but it may increase your appetite for the tasty food which is about to be served😄 It usually remains full..so don't forget to book a table beforehand..Although, the staff was generous enough to offer me a table (twice😅) even without prior booking
R. L.
I’d heard this is a bit of a hidden institution and I wasn’t disappointed. We found it so hard to choose from the menu that we went for the banquet and it was sensational. Lamp chops and fish tikka particularly. Great to host visitors with an aperitif at the Opera Bar. We’ll be back.
S. P.
Went here for first time on Wed 12 Aug 2015 to celebrate a friend's 40th and it was brilliant! We will definitely return. Food is exceptional, service is very friendly, location is interesting (you can see the trains go past with the water in the background) and a great atmosphere. Always nice to discover a new place that will become a regular destination. All good!
S. B.
Terrific spot for tasty Indian treats.
After a night at the opera we were famished and the Spice Room did the trick. They were kind enough to let us stay, having arrived 2 minutes after the kitchen was supposed to close.
I usually have the trinity of chicken tandoori, land vindaloo, and sag paneer. I was not disappointed with any of the offerings here, and quite enjoyed the take on creamed spinach.
Highly recommend and only wish I could go back to explore the menu further, but alas our travels throughout Australia take priority.
L. J.
Nice atmosphere and great food
K. W.
Our family of 6 including one with Coeliac Disease and two vegans enjoyed a fabulous dinner at The Spice Room. The wait staff completely understood the menu for gluten free options. The food was fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend and we will return.
H. C.
Authentic Indian food, really liked the setting, although it got a bit loud in the restaurant, making conversation a little difficult. But this was made up for the beautiful curries we ordered. Eggplant curry, orka curry and spiced battered deep fry fish, served with saffron rice. Staff were nice, price was probably towards the higher end, but you pay for the food and location
E. F.
Cute little place, right next to Circular Quay. We stopped by at 5pm (so quite early) and the staff already seemed a bit skeptical about getting us in without a reservation, so I would definitely encourage one of those (although we did get seated without). The decor is quite unusual and fetching - I think it's intended to convey the impression of being on a street, so house numbers and the sort of reliefs one might find on the outside of a structure. We got a few things to share here: samosa triangles (tasty, well-filled, and with a refreshing yogurt-y sauce on the side), yellow dhal & spinach (very very good indeed! intact chickpeas, mmm), and garlic naan (fluffy, not overly garlicky, and served piping hot). We also shared a mango lassi, which was everything that drink should be and provided a great counterpoint to the more savory entrees. We didn't try the desserts. The prices are normal for this part of Sydney - we paid about A$55 (~US$40) for dinner for the two of us.
L. D.
WOW!
The spice room was recommended to us by a work colleague as a great place to dine before our concert at the Opera house NSW.
From walking into the restaurant (without a booking) -with the amazing design and authentic looking decor- to the exceptional service by all the staff, then lastly the most amazing Indian cuisine , our experience was flawless.
The beetroot tikki is a must!
I would recommend you make a booking if you are not in a hurry - the popularity of The Spice Room is another testimony to the quality of service and food.
R. S.
Yum yum yum My friend and i were visiting Sydney and decided to have dinner at this restaurant. Absoutely loved it. Food was proper authentic indian with the heat that we love in our Indian food lol. Staff was friendly and smiling. The lacha naan wow I haven't had such soft naans in Australia before. Plan to go there again next month. This time we will skip lunch.
W. W.
Authentic and delicious. Fresh ingredients and excellent choice. Smallish place but great location. Value for money is good - not cheap but this is one of the best Indian places I've eaten in Sydney.
J. E.
I grew up in Western Sydney and since moving closer to the city, I've struggled to find a good Indian restaurant. The Spice Room is now my favourite restaurant in Sydney and the meals are always exceptional. I've been there a few times now, and the quality or portion sizes never change.
Their customer service is always fantastic, and I highly recommend the Pani Puri shots. Entertaining and delicious!
T. D.
Lively restaurant at Circular Quay. Authentic Indian cuisine with a colonial style ambience. Large tables for big groups available. You can see the chefs doing their thing in the kitchen through a large glassed window. Try an Indian beer with your spicy order.
V. C.
Nice location and Staff was friendly . Entree was good. We had tikki chat and lamb seekh kebab in entree. In mains , Dal Makhni was yummy , okra was not properly cooked and shahi paneer was sour for some reason. Overall an average food priced for its location only.
T. F. C.
The best Indian restaurant in Sydney. Chat like Gol Gappas, and Bhelpuri are excellent. Food is fresh and spicy the way it should be. You have to book in advance though as tables book out very fast at popular times. And almost you wont be able to just walk in. In case you are not able to get in, take away works well too!
S. P.
We had a 25th Wedding Anniversary for 43 people and The Spice Room was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Ramesh and the team were incredible. The ambience and decor set the scene for the evening, the food was beautiful; but the SERVICE! You are easily the best Indian Restaurant in Sydney. We simply can't thank you enough! SP
B. S.
Pros : Perfect location , good taste, nice ambience and good collection of old articles & posters from india
Cons : little quantity & double the price
My experience was average as we reached there at 2pm, it took them 10 mins to figure we were waiting, clean a table and get us a seat which was already vacant . Another 10-15 mins for someone to come and attend us and at 2.25 we had stuff our order at one go as the restuarant closes at 3 and this would be the last order :( :(.
Can do much better !!
M. A.
Was really delicious I liked the butter chicken and their Nan bread is really good, be advised that you should book before visiting. Also Mr. “Noman” was really super friendly and welcoming, and his service was fabulous.
V. L.
Good food, Quickest service ever seen in Sydney.
The only problem at this restaurant is advance bookings, if you don't have one they will give you a fixed time to finish your food. Overall food quality, service, menu is all good except time limits if you go without a booking. If they keep 2 tables unreserved for walkins, I would have given 5 stars.
I loved their biryani, mushroom cheese naan and the mango lassi.
A. C.
Outstanding service. Fine quality food. Liked the ambience. Location is obviously fantastic. And they made a special India drink for us which was not in the menu (chaas).
M. V.
First timers here! The food was delicious and the service outstanding. We will certainly be back and spread the word !
T. M.
Interesting restaurant fitout with nice views. Friendly accommodating staff with very quick service.
Chef was happy to make us food not on the menu, and it was fantastic. Happily recommend, just make sure you make a booking.
J. K.
Extremely efficient waiting staff, fast friendly service, vast menu, very tasty food! We could even see into the kitchen from our dining table whilst eating.. Would definitely recommend. Wish we found it earlier in on our holiday as we are leaving Sydney on Sunday..
A. G.
It is an absolutely awesome place for authentic Indian food. Starters especially aloo tikki chaat is good. Even the main course both veg and non veg are really amazing. Beautiful interiors and music makes you feel in India itself.
A. B.
Fantastic ambiance and excellent food. Wide array of dishes. Interior decor is very nice with great views. Very good service. Definitely good value for money.
G. S.
There were 10 of us that arrived on a Saturday night and we luckily got a table without waiting. As vegetarians, we ordered several appies which were pretty good. The mains we split were Shai paneer, paneer mirch salan and black lentil dal. Shahi paneer was good but the paneer mirch salan was amazing. The black lentil dal was really good too but a bit heavy on the butter.
P. G.
Once in a while you get a gem of a place, that surprises in one or more ways and The Spice Room is one such place! Zomato review should simply be deleted; the Dimmi review is more accurate, though could be improved. Ignore any poor reviews; again, those people are better off staying at home.
There is much to like about this place; ambience and decor, location (in the city near a tourist spot, and yet is not 'touristy'), food (try anything Kurchan if your body can handle the calories or as simple, clean and healthy as the spinach dal and beetroot tikki), service (warm and friendly, without an ounce of arrogance in their behaviour). Your biggest complaint will most likely be that you didn't get a table when you walked in off the street as its full -- they will nonetheless try and accommodate you! Don't be upset with them for your poor planning and the fact that the restaurant is busy! Perhaps a further issue is that it is a tad on the expensive side for certain dishes, though its not out of line with those in the area, and much better value all round.
J. K.
If you want "western style" indian food this is the place to go. The amount of food you get for the banquet is pretty good.
Is it really authentic? No. But it doesn't need to be to hit that indian craving.
S. C.
This is a great find if you like Indian food and want to eat somewhere in the city. It's not cheap but the menu is extensive and the food flavoursome. The restaurant has a great vibe and we loved the decor with the old Indian artefacts. The standout dish for us was the Chicken Biryani and the Beef Vindaloo and the cheese and chilli naan also got the thumbs up. We went on a Saturday night and the place was packed so if you don't want to miss out, you'd be wise to book ahead. There are no views of the harbour but it's perfectly located if you're in or around Circular Quay.
D. H.
Nice food & wine, very friendly and efficient service. But no contact tracing details were recorded either by App or manually. Unusual in these times.
P. S.
I visited the restaurant last night..
The ambience is great and I personally loved Smoked tandoori paneer sizzler and lamb seekh kebabs ..
We were greeted by the friendly staff and I would love to back with my family ..
P. S.
Hidden in plain site at the tip of circular quay, The Spice Room is a win for anyone seeking a genuine Indian cuisine experience. The smoky tandoori chicken was perfect and the daal delicious. All complimented by a fine atmosphere.
a. g.
Authentic north indian food. Taste just like any other restaurant in india.
K. G.
Lively atmosphere with a great décor and feel to the restaurant.
Whilst curries are well portioned, being located in Circular Quay expect higher prices [i.e. tourist tax].
Extensive menu, and good selection of meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes which overall are flavourful but not particularly memorable.
Decent city-side option, but certainly not the best Indian in wider Sydney.
p. s.
Tasty Indian food and good service in the Sydney CBD. Fairly priced.
My opinion, the overall experience can be made better by rearranging the tables, as the place is a bit congested with many tables in the small area.
T. H.
The whole snapper was fishy and the lamb was extremely dry. We had a guest that has a nut allergy and when we asked if the butter chicken had nuts, the waitress said yes and we asked if it could be made without and she said no. When the butter chicken came, there were sliced almonds as garnish but no nuts in the curry (that we could taste).
K. E.
One of the best Indian restaurants in Sydney! The food here is incredible, so much variety and such great value and service.
R. E.
Honestly the best Indian restaurant food I've eaten. I will definatley be coming back!
G. P.
Always so good. I don’t understand how this place isn’t packed every night - food is top notch and such good value.
S. P.
Starters were good. Main course was kind of ok types. Main course portion size were very small.
c. g.
The best indian food. We don't go anywhere else (although we tried to find somewhere nearer home). They even make me Salmon in a coconut sauce even though its not on the menu because I always have it since it was a special.
A. S.
Friendly staff. Good and authentic Indian vegetarian food. Starters are excellent highly recommended.
J. S.
Very good Indian food and ambience
L. _.
Nice cozy restaurant in Circular Quay. Not that pricey considering it's at a prime location.
Food was good.
It was already fully booked when we arrived but they managed to squeeze us in between two bookings. I guess it's recommended to book in advance.
T. H.
Booked late on in the day and they really obliged and fit us in. One of the best curries we have had in Australia. Staff polite and really helpful. After the meal sat at the bar and was really looked after.Would highly recommend.
t. s.
We had our team lunch here. Food wasn't great though. It's by circular quay, however the view is blocked by the railway bridge. Overall experience was okay.
K. K.
My boyfriend and I just ate at The Spice Room for the first time. The food was delicious and a reasonable price. Plus, Abhi provided great service and always had a smile on his face!
M. S.
Unfortunately, there was some confusion about the several course meals offered. Initially, we were given the impression that we could have different versions of the meals (veg vs non veg), however, after lots of confusion, they said we had to choose one meal for the whole table of 10 people.
B. S.
One of the best Indian places in the city, takeaway menu is very reasonable and filling. Food has the best amount of spice suitable for every kind of spice tolerance, would love to sit in someday to eat!
j. D.
You get what you pay for. Pricey but their aromatic dishes are cooked with authentic spices and base ingredients shipped from India. The menu is based on the original royalty owner's dining place
d.
A bit pricey but the food was good
P. G.
Very nice Indian restaurant with reasonable prices. Food was excellent with heaps of spices. Not very hot though even though we asked for extra hot. Atmosphere quite interesting.
G. R.
Great food with cosy palatial ambience. Handy location nestled close to the opera house. Try their green chilli and tamararind cocktails for a unique twist as well as their banquet menu. Fluffy naans, great curries with delectable flavours and yummy desserts such as rasmalai. They also serve Kingfisher beer on tap for a palate cleansing aperitif. What more could an indian food lover want.
O. P.
Very tasty food, good value. Good service, loved the decor. Can even watch tandoori oven. Great vegetarian options
E. G.
Beautiful place with good food. We shared a variety of foods and liked pretty much all of them. I loved this old wooden door on the wall.
C. S.
Great location near Circular Quay, cool vibe with lots of interesting historic Indian artifacts on the walls, and pretty good Indian food. Just very expensive for the amount of food you get. Pretty crowded interior.
E.
Have been to the restaurant with my family and friends Y'day. Very Authentic, Nice Atmosphere. Food was very good. Friendly staff and we all enjoyed it very much. Will certainly visit again.
J. J.
Authentic Indian food place in Perth. Don't go for spicy options. Australian definition of spicy is different from Indian spicy. Going very spicy will make you suffer next day, as there is no jet spray in Australia.
T. M.
A real gem! The food, service, and ambiance were EXCELLENT. The cost seemed inexpensive compared to other meals we've had in Australia. You won't be disappointed.
A. W.
Of all the restraunts we visited in Sydney, amazing food!!! However, the girl was OK, nothing fancy. Rest great taste. Must visit!!!
K. G.
The Spice Room is a glamorous experience. Great food, overlooking the harbour and sipping on some fabulous wines. We really enjoyed our experience and would recommend it to anyone.
S. H.
Staff nice place, great location and friendly staff. The portion size was small, I found the curries to be bland, under portioned and overpriced. Overall disappointing.
s. a.
We wanted to try something different my wife and I, for our one year anniversary. We decided to have an Indian cuisine, let me just tell you that we had the most amazing food ever and the staff are so wonderful...we would like to thank them so much and we can wait to come back...God bless
K. P.
Staff is friendly, very responsive and service is quick. There was an order mix up but was resolved very fast.
J. R.
Been here for a work lunch with my team. We pre-ordered our food so it was on time. Great tasting and decent serving size. Would definitely recommend to others.
K.
Great service, tasty food but the portions are small compared to other indian restaurants in the same ratings in Sydney.
r. p.
Place was nice and food was great, it's just too small and crowded.
R. S.
Most amazing meals and best butter chicken I have ever tasted.
Great service
M. L.
The menu is modern and food delicious, and the staff are very friendly and efficient.
Great place for a romantic lunch or dinner, or if you want to take your team somewhere special.
F. L.
Amazing food...very helpful staff. Large party of 40+ and all went smoothly. Especially impressed at the options for food intolerances/allergy etc. I had the vegan option and it was awesone!!
M. I.
Authentic sub-continent food, one of the best in town. Highly recommended for spice lovers looking for great service!
C. P.
Amazing place, great food and can't fault it. Banquet menu was worth it, and would certainly go back and recommend
W. W.
above average taste and some dishes are really good. $30 for 3 tiny king prawns are quite over-priced
E. C.
Great authentic Indian food. Good service and reasonably priced
P. D.
Simply the best indian meal I've ever had....and I've had a lot!! Really enjoyed my evening at The Spice Room.
W. D.
Frankly, I thought it was a bit too bleh, considering the hype and its prices. I'll admit good service, but overall there are definitely much better options in Sydney and in the CBD.
G. C.
Excellent tasting Indian food and drinks. Recommended.
J. S.
Amazing food, great taste. With the first bite you knew it was going to be an amazing meal.
Great atmosphere in the hotel, the decor looked very authentic.
C. H.
Food was great and service good. The only downside was the air-con, it was too cold and within 5 minutes your food was cold.
R. B.
Possibly the only place you can get an excellent meal for under $10. Check out their takeaway menu, the dishes are authentic, delicious and so cheap.
M. B.
Great food, plenty of seats, clean, good service, more than anything awesome food selection all cooked perfectly.
L. D.
Good food and good service!
Quite pricey though. We got the butter chicken which was a small portion and $24 on its own. Rice and naan was extra
R. M.
Amazing Amazing Amazing 😊😊😊
Ambience is just authentic and very traditional reflecting Indian heritage. Kajal was very professional, humble and friendly with her service. Thank you. We will be back!!
A. A.
I travel from Hurstville up to Sydney for their coconut salmon curry. The achari fish to start is great too. I haven’t found a better curry house in all these years.
P. “.
Good indian food. Convenient location. Try the speciality of the restaurant if you don't know what to order. If vegetarian try Aloo Jeera, Paneer Khurchan and Okra dish. All delicious.
D. T.
One of those few Indian restaurants in Sydney that serve you authentic Indian food. The price is on the expensive side but the food was always perfect whenever I have visited them
R. K.
I’ve been here a couple times now and the food is absolutely delicious! Definitely will recommend this place to anyone. Staff are friendly and efficient.
J. B.
Not many good Indian restaurants left in the city, but this is good. The set menu is reasonable. Enjoy the dal.
M. W.
Yum!!!!! Delightful food, portions were not to big. Food was quick and lots of choice. Great atmosphere.
K. K.
Popular spot so make a reservation even at lunch. It's overpriced but the food is good. The malabar fish curry was excellent.
A. R.
Food is very tasty. Customer service is also very good. Overall very enjoyable experience, highly recommended.
L. O.
Came here with my husband a few months ago and we absolutely loved it! Food was great, service was pretty good and quick, I can't wait to get another chance to have a nice dinner there again!!
S. Y.
Great decoration and food. Recommend naan, butter chicken and paneer. If you want to have a taste of everything, banquet is a pretty good option too.
B. A.
Decent ambience, good food, great service, reasonably priced, nice location. Best mango lassi in town. Overall nice experience.
D. B.
One of the best restaurants for Indian food in Sydney, the food offered has the spices added in the perfect way to give you a great taste
S. G.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, glass wall to watch the chefs at work, these were the positives. Stuck up idiot at reception was the only negative
T. K. P.
Its in my top three list of Indian restaurants in this city. What a beautiful aromatic cuisine and decor you can tell it’s a family run restaurant.
P. S.
It was very nice food and very affordable. I am amazed at all of the bad reviews - maybe things have changed? It has a very good rating on urban spoon.
A. J.
Food was good but overpriced and quantity is also less. #LocationEffect
K. S.
Expensive but good food. Do try the Rasmalai. Service is not up there but manageable. Restrooms are just a piece of art, have a peep when you're there.
C. P.
Lovely experience. Food really good.upmarket prices
D. B.
Great decor, lovely old photos on display. Service is excellent. Food is good.
J. W.
Great food. Had a wonderful dinner last night. Excellent service and really tasty dishes.
M. A.
Delicious curries. Good atmosphere. Very handy if you are going to a show, which we were not!
A. C.
Amazing food, great vibe and top central location. Booking a very good idea as nearly always busy.
I. K.
Overpriced. But I am not going to complain about the quality... quite decent! The service was quite average....
L. R. F.
Delicious food, good service, well priced considering location. However super crowded and tight.
P. P.
Place is little congested... Ambience is good, nice Indian setup on entrance and even in washrooms... Vegan food is really good and meet my expectation.
M. R.
Had a team lunch here. Great food, friendly staff. Will recommend who loves Indian food.
S. K.
Amazing food , great service... Really great staff
R. J.
Really good place and a better option for Opera House visitors.
L. M.
Great food. The banquet was great for our group of six. Peshwari naan was super tasty.
J. D.
Beautiful, subtle, flavoursome food in a delightfully decorated room, complemented by outstandingly friendly and helpful staff. A highlight!
M. G.
Very good indian food, if u dont like spicy but u have to ask them for mild one.
O. Y.
Lamb rogan was great. They have good roti and I also liked the spicy mushroom
P. K.
Great food although a little expensive.. But really good in terms of taste, quality and ambience
S. D.
On the pricey side, but really worth it. Easily one of the best places to get Indian food in Sydney.
c. c.
If you want to eat a plentiful and delicious Indian Meal with a good service and with a pleasant ambiance, this is the place near the quay .
E. R. F.
Lovely place, though it was a bit of a struggle to get 100% plant-based food. A lot of the 'vegetarian' options had cheese.
K. S.
Great Indian food. I loved it. Little bit expensive but can't beat the taste.
R. K.
Best Indian food in Sydney - fresh and authentic!
S. M. C.
Quality food, quality service and testy too.. owner has great taste in ambience and has antique setup with nice sea view opp to wharf2. ...
