What have I been missing till now… omg!
The food is DELICIOUS and place is beautiful, lovely decor.
Service was ok, I think because the place was bit crowded. It was a Saturday evening so totally understandable. It was a pleasant experience. Will definitely return soon.
Ordered seekh kebabs too, they were gone before I took my phone out ;)
We had reservations which was good but even then we had to wait before we were seated.

We had a lovely quiet evening at Urban Tadka tonight. The ambience is wonderful with super friendly staff. We had Expresso Martini and Passionfruit Martini. I highly recommend the cocktails here. The Paneer Kasundi is definitely a favourite entree on our list. Roti, naan and nukkad murgh were nothing out of the ordinary. All in all, this is a great place for a drink and some great starters.
R. H.
Exceptional food and service. We had a meal with my parents, the highlights were Murgh Mughlai, Khurma Gosht, Aloo Bukhara Ke Kofte, and the biryani. Will be back!

Incredible food and consistently the best customer service I've come across in Sydney. Amazing vibe inside with very attentive staff and fresh food bursting with flavour. Best Indian restaurant in Australia, hands down. Thank you Urban Tadka for your attention to detail and caring staff. Everyone needs to try this place once in their life.
V. B.
Fantastic service by all staff who are highly professional! The menu is gorgeous and the ambience is so lovely! Every dish was delicious and the desserts are a must have.

Amazing food and experience! Urban Tadka catered our wedding and reception in April. They were a hit! Every guest couldn't stop raving about every item on the menu! Thank you Dimpy for recommending a menu that suited both events perfectly. No request was too difficult, even days before the wedding, Dimpy helped make sure that every guest's dietary requirement was looked after. The presentation was fantastic, great service and flavour was unique with every bite, the photos speak for themselves. If you are looking for an Indian caterer for your wedding, we'd highly recommend Dimpy and Urban Tadka. Thank you again!

Lovely atmosphere! Delicious food! Excellent service! Highly recommend :)

Great place for some unique and tasty Indian dishes. Our waiter was friendly but trying way too hard to be a salesperson. We were not seated at our booked time and a couple of requests during our meal were completely forgotten. The presentation was generally very good but spillage on sides of bowls is not a great first impression to the dish being served. The food was excellent however so I would recommend it for that but not for service or atmosphere.

One of the best "Indian restaurants" in Sydney suburb of Terry Hills on the Northern Beaches.
Amongst the top-3 in NSW and top-10 Nationwide, winner of "AGFG - Australian Good Food Guide" award for the year 2020 and for the past 9 years every years is an achievement in itself.
Don't have to take my words for it just come in and try it for yourself and amongst all the satisfied patrons including myself you will keep coming back again again for the delicious cuisine, cocktails, coffees or even functions catered by Mr M. Rana & served by his professional team.
Love the food and the ambience...

Second time at this restaurant and loved it even more. The manager and the staff were all very attentive and gave great recommendations. Prabhat looked after our table for the second time and made us feel so welcome. Love the ambiance and the chicken tikka curry is to die for. Would also recommend the tacos and the scallops which have a modern take on Indian cuisine. Definitely our go to Indian restaurant.

The best food experience in Australia. Being going for 3 years, and never disappoints.

I would to say that the food was great as we went for dinner on Saturday night and we order our entrees but at the same time waiter put so much pressure on us to order the mains at the same time without us even having our entrees on table which I didn't liked it at all and I guess they do that for reason so people can get confused so they can order more food without eating entrees first and they keep on saying that the kitchen will get closed soon.
They should let people eat their entrees first specially if we are there before 8pm and should not force people to order mains for their own purpose.

Simply amazing. Organising a wedding can be stressful especially during covid times. Dimpy took one less stress away from us, creating and organising such a unique and delicious menu in 3 days. Complete trust in him and his team, didn't even need to taste the final menu. On the day his service was outstanding. Personally was on the floor overlooking the food and ensuring everything was to a 7 star standard. The presentation of the food was unique and spectacular. Service was efficient. And the taste was just out of this world. A slight unique twist to traditional Indian food. Everyone loved it. Dimpy completely delivered on his promises. If anyone needs an Indian caterer for their wedding, cannot go wrong with Dimpy and Urban Tadka. If anything, definitely give their restaurant a vist as well.

Hi there
Thank you so much for your hospitality 🙏
Really appreciate it ,specially that gentleman that serves us , 🙏and make our night special:)
I want to give surprise my friend for
their anniversary and it was really amazing ..
“Great work for that dessert platter”. I am so happy for the service.
Food was amazing.
We will come back to your place again .
Thanks

Our visit was tainted following glowing recommendations of friends. This expectation unfortunately fell short of the mark. $300 for dinner for 2 was definately on the very high side with the food being good but not delivering the experience or excellence the bill demanded. Service was excellent but again nothing that the bill didnt demand.
The chicken tandoori was stellar but all of our other dishes fell short. There are better Indian experiences in Sydney for half the price with better food - Ravis in Crows Nest for example.
A return visit may occur but not in the foreseeable future.

Dimpy and his team catered for our event at Le Montage on 02 January 2022. Despite challenging conditions of Covid and staff shortage Dimpy delivered an outstanding outcome as promised. The quality, quantity and the food display was fantastic. His eye for detail was exemplary. Many of our guests complimented the arrangements. We have no hesitation in recommending Urban Tadka for any catering needs. Our personal thanks to Dimpy and his team.

The location is the restaurant is a little out there however, WORTH IT! The food is amazing. Great taste of authentic Indian Food. The highlights were the prawns, they were to die for, quite unique. The dessert again. Awesome!!! Definitely worth a visit.
S. B.
Massive fan of this restaurant. The food is awesome, the cocktails were unique and tasty, and the atmosphere is great. We were fortunate to have an Indian wedding on while we were having dinner so the atmosphere was next level. Would come here again.

We went to Urban Tadka in a grp of 6 and had the best experience ever. From the moment we reached the service was exemplary and everyone was very friendly. The vibe there is just unique - fine dining mixed with a chilled environment. Drinks and food was very delicious, authentic and nice balance of spices and fresh ingredients. We mainly ordered veggo dishes and the paneer dish was out of the world. Great experience, super accommodating staff and delish food with a cute lil chef Aryaan to keep company- thanks for an awesome time team Urban Tadka.
K. S.
I don't think anyone has perfected the art of making tandoor dishes other than UT. The cheese and garlic naan is the best I've ever had, compared to the likes of Khyber, Copper Chimney, Jewel of India or Moti Mahal restaurants in Mumbai. The best restaurant serving North Indian cuisine I have ever had outside 3 continents - Africa, Middle East and Australia.
F. M.
Had our wedding yesterday and it was a fantastic event, Abhishek and the crew have been brilliant, we had hiccups with vendors but the Urban Tadka team have been so flexible and helpful. Our guests were so impressed by the food, drinks and atmosphere. I will be definitely recommending Urban Tadka to my friends and family.

We recently held our daughter’s first birthday party @ Urban Tadka. All the beautiful staff did a wonderful job! Attention to every detail really took the stress off me at party. I was able to enjoy my guests and relax knowing event was in the best hands! Thank you for providing a great memory and everyone is still raving about the food!! Absolutely Delicious!! The lovely hospitality provided will be remembered forever..THANK YOU URBAN TADKA TEAM!! Keep up the good work.

We organised our wedding party at the venue and also came here for dinner twice. The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is amazing! For our party, everything was well organised and managed. All our guests were well catered for even before we arrived. Keep it up!

Simply the Best . Very professional staff , excellent food , very convenient when you are in group , nice and stylish atmosphere. We loved it and as my husband is Indian I can tell you that we did many Indians restaurants in Sydney.
R. M.
We were amazed at not only the quality of food, but also the service, delicious high quality plates, selection of drinks and great service. Highly recommend.
A. H.
Fantastic food. Fantastic atmosphere. Fantastic service. The Ladies could do with regular clean, given the place was packed and The Ladies had just 2 cubicles. Both doors to the cubicles need to be fixed as well, found it hard to lock, doors not aligned.
S. S.
Had my 40th bday dinner with my friends yesterday night. Food was awesome. Service was first class. Management was top notch. They accommodated all our requests to make sure we have a memorable time and we certainly did. My Birthday went better than planned.
Would highly recommend to anyone looking for the best dining/celebration experience.
I for sure is there forever customer now. Very happy 😊.

Every now and then, you discover a restaurant that just excels above and beyond in service, presentation, quality of food and ambiance... Urban Tadka is one of those rare places. From the moment I arrived, I entered a journey where I was impressed at every stage of my dining experience. Here, you’ll find Indian dishes with a refreshing difference, plus all the favourites.

Come to Urban Tadka for a journey through India via their extensive menu. Beautifully spiced dishes with incredible depth of flavour. Meticulous preparation and presentation are the hallmarks of an experience at one of Sydney's very best Indian restaurants.
T. H.
We were very impressed with Urban Tadka. It was Probably the best Indian food I’ve eaten. It’s full of flavour with quality meats.
Service was great and the staff were friendly.

We visited Urban Tadka like half a month ago for my birthday celebration. We went there on Saturday without booking a table. The staff on the desk was actually helpful in getting us a table. The food was awesome and mouthwatering. The environment of this restaurant was actually so cozy. Thank you guys for such an amazing service 😊

Urban Tadka is an excellent Indian restaurant in an awesome setting in Terry Hills. This has a wonderful and authentic feeling and attended was recommended by an Indian family member - and it does not disappoint! We ordered the banquet and it was way too much! The best thing I enjoyed here was the entrees - seriously amazing! And the the deserts... check out the pistachio kulfi ... if there was one criticism of this place is at the end of the night someone ordered chai latte and a tea bag came out... seriously disappointed.

Located in Terrey Hills, Urban Tadka is what we would describe as fine dining Indian. If you’re from the Eastern Suburbs like us or anywhere on the southern side of the Harbour Bridge, you’ll almost need your passport and a VISA for the journey. If you love Indian food and curries, it is well worth travelling for. You’ll need a car to get here and as you travel through Terrey Hills, follow the directions closely and you’ll pull into a large car park and on this huge site amongst a few galleries is Urban Tadka.
Be sure to ring and book ahead as when we were there it was almost full and we also know they do lots of weddings and also have a huge catering business.
The restaurant is more a venue than simply a restaurant, it is in a lovely bush setting, it has a huge outdoor space, plenty of room indoors for dining, a large bar with a cushioned couch area and a function space.
The food can be described as authentic Indian with a modern twist. Food is plated beautifully and popping with colour and cooked with a diversity of flavours and spices. Cooked in a variety of methods; smoked, slow cooked and wok tossed.
We began with papadums and a 3 dip colourful platter of tomato/onion dip (kachumber), salsa and beetroot yoghurt A great started to prepare you for the culinary adventure ahead.
The Mahararja Kebab Platter was recommended and like its name, this amazing tandoor mixed meat dish fit for a King. This dish was served on a cool home made display stand, crafted from copper pipe. The meats all tender and juicy with a good amount of spice;
The lamb cutlets - flavoured with garlic, ginger, yoghurt and tandoori spices (Adraki Champein)
The Tandoori smoked shelled prawns, garlic and spices (Zatar Lasooni Jhinga).
The (Donalli Seekh Hazaarvi) a kebab meat roll of chicken and lamb mince, rolled with herbs and spices
The chicken tandoori fillets (Murgh de Tikka kararee)
Sitting on the bottom of the frame was the tandoori marinated barramundi fillets with ginger, lemon, dukkah and garum masala (Dukkah machi Patrani).
There was a good range of mains to choose from including chicken, lamb, pork and seafood options as well as vegetarian selections. This making for a tough decision, best to go for a banquet if dining in a group.
It is pretty much obligatory to order a curry, The Kesari Lamb sufiyana - made with tender slow cooked pieces of lamb in a beautifully rich creamy cashew sauce with mace and cardamom. The curry sauce has a nice sweetness and a good spice kick.
The show stopper, as extravagant as a Bollywood block buster, was the Urban Agari Lobster - the sweet lobster meat wok tossed in a pan with a combination of special spices and ingredients that are aromatic and compliment the sweetness of the lobster. Presented nicely with the shell of the lobster tail. It was incredibly flavorful, so much so, there was not a skerrick of sauce left on the plate.
You couldn’t be at an Indian restaurant and not have some naan. We had the cheese naan and ordered a serve of basmati jeera rice, for mopping up the tasty curries and sauces. Urban tadka also sell biryani and roti.
If you’re here in a large group, the Banquet “Dawat” would be great, for $49.90 pp, you receive the Papadums, dips, 5 entrees, 4 mains, breads, rice and dessert. For $60.90, they add in an extra entree and main. Dawat means a festive or joyous meal, and the food here is certainly something that will provide that.
The meal finishing with another highlight, the Dessert platter with Chocolate, Mango and a stunning pistachio kulfi.
There was also the Mango mousse cake with coconut, cream cheese and raspberry, so light and fluffy and not overly sweet.
Another light dessert on the platter was the chololate and pistachio mouse served as a dome with a light green glaze. This dessert was nice and airy, perfect to follow the rich spicy food we enjoyed beforehand.
The platter also including the Urban Tadka version of the Black Forest cake served on a crisp chocolate biscuit base of cereal.

“The food is amazing! Who is the caterer? Can I have their card?!”.
Attendees at our 100-guest evening cocktail event were astonished at the impressive selection of Urban Tadka’s upscale Indian hors-d’oevres, dinner offerings and desserts.
Beautifully presented, each hors-d’oevre was bursting with flavour, and cooked to perfection in a generous portion that was elegantly eaten with one hand, while holding a drink in the other.
The tantalising vegetarian and protein-based cocktail skewers and boats acquired varying levels of spice.
The scrumptious dinner boxes and wraps were just as delicious but a more substantial portion that could be eaten with a fork or one-handed.
The mini desserts were delectable with the perfect hint of sweetness.
Service and attention to detail was also stellar, as was the lead up to the event.
The caterer organised a venue viewing with us to discuss our needs, the set up and flow of the night.
Their professional service and flavoursome, contemporary menu made our event a seamless and memorable success.
Many of our guests enjoyed the cuisine so much, they are planning to visit their restaurant in Terrey Hills.
I would highly recommend Urban Tadka for any catering event. They are our go-to, family-preferred caterer because we know they will deliver a high-quality service with a mouth-watering menu.
A. S.
This is a special review as they helped me in a difficult situation. I flew in late, arrived at the hotel and there was nowhere willing to deliver. I phoned Urban Tadka and explained and although the kitchen had closed they helped me out. The place has great ambience and the food was also amazing. This is the definition of customer service. Well done!!
V. B.
The food was so good I couldn’t resist, so I forgot to take photos of our dishes. You have to visit Urban Tadka - it’s without a doubt the best Indian restaurant in Australia. Very cozy and elegant interior, friendly staff, unique & delicious Indian cuisine.
P. R.
The ambience is good and most of the food was good like chicken tandoori, chicken kebabs, taco chats, cheese garlic naan was very tasty. Chicken biryani and vegetable pulav were my least favourite. Chicken biryani was more like chicken curry mixed with rice and did not taste or smell like freshly made. And pulav did not have any flavour in it hence giving 3 stars.
A. N.
Had to wait a bit but was so worth it. Food was super hot and fresh and tasted unbelievable
k. a.
Highly recommend Urban Tadka they make my wedding event so beautiful and everything was very managed.
The quality of food was great and Abishek done everything perfect.
At the end I want to say thanks to hole team of urban Tadka they done everything perfect.

We went to Urban Tadka for lunch. The restaurant is clean and inviting with helpful staff. We were seated next to the window which was nice.
So this restaurant has won a bunch of awards and is lauded as the best Indian restaurant in Sydney. In my view it certainly ranks as one of the best in terms of food quality.
We ordered papadam and dips while waiting for our mains. I highly recommend this entire as the dips really wake up the tastebuds.
We had a lamb dish and an eggplant dish. Both were delicious. We ordered a single rice and prata to accompany the dishes.
Serving sizes are generous in my opinion and we had enough left over for a takeaway meal.
Overall a good restaurant. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Nice ambience and good food. Had a good time there

Arguably the best North Indian food in the area.
We keep going back for it’s authentic taste, relaxed surroundings and great service.
The presentation and flavour of the KURKURI Chat and Mango Lassi has made it our staple order, amongst other delicacies we try and are never disappointed.
S. M.
Our experience here was a sensory delight. There is obviously a lot of care taken to maintain such a high standard of cuisine and it’s easy to see why they are continuing to win awards.

High end restaurant for fancy dinner! Food taste on spot though! 1 hr drive from Sydney
N. S.
We had an amazing night here! We read some negative comments about the service, but we had great service on a Saturday night. We had to wait 30min for our lobster entree, which was mentioned in the menu and also by our waiter when we ordered, but everything after that went quick enough. The food was absolutely amazing and the restaurant is super cozy. We will definitely be back!
C.
The restaurant have a nice feeling to it with the food being delicious.
The service was available to any needed time and were polite.
Was a bit pricey for 4 people and a total of $133 but overall it was great.
L. C.
Exquisite fine dining, impeccable service. Absolutely delectable food with amazing flavours! Highly recommend.

Beautiful restaurant was recommended by a friend. It was the first time I came here with my husband and two kids and we were very satisfied!
This beautiful hidden gem has beautiful decor, spectacular customer service and delicious dishes! This place is kids-friendly and has easy parking access.
All dishes we ordered were beautifully presented and they all tasted amazing.
Thank you so much for your service Urban Tadka🙏

Due to my intolerance to spicy/hot food, butter chicken is the only indian food that I can eat and theirs was the best I've had from a restaurant in Melbourne!
Also, the food was delivered by the owner who was on time, extremely friendly and professional.
I will only order from then when am in the mood for Indian food!
Please keep up the good work.
Update:
These guys just prompted me that I posted a 5 star review for their favor by accident as it was meant to be for another restaurant in Melbourne.
I will still keep my 5 star review to them due to the outstanding honesty! Very impressive and I'll certainly try them next time am in Sydney.

Celebrated marriage anniversary! Nice ambience, though I think the noise was loud. Great food and service.
D. B.
Beautiful restaurant. Really neat and organised. Staff are really well dressed, professional and welcoming. Food is absolutely amazing compared to other Indian restaurants in Sydney. Food is authentic. Would definitely visit again.
V. T.
We really loved everything as it was one of our best intimate events and we are really glad that we thought of this place. The food was really tasty, the service was amazing as they were always ready to serve. Special shout out to Abhishek and his team, you guys are really good. Everyone enjoyed the food and ambience. Will definitely come in future for other events.
S. M.
We were so excited that we found this venue for the baby shower ceremony. We met Abhishek there , who is incredibly nice and worked with us to plan the event. We were provided with so many food options to choose from. There is enough parking space for the guests. Staff on the day of the event were very professional. Food was top notch. All the guests loved the food and the venue. I would highly recommend this place for the events.
L. P.
Just loved everything amazing food, atmosphere and service. My 1st ever visit 😍😍
N. K.
Great food and beautiful settings. Great service with friendly staff.
A. W.
The food was good overall. The deep fried entries and fish were average. My local Indian was way better and also alot cheaper.
The biggest issue with the place was the booking system. After calling to book a table and then going on the website to book we found out that the credit card payment to reserve a table had declined and therefore no reservation was made - which we did not know until arriving. The managers came across rude dealing with this but i know it would have been frustrating. They did however manage to seat us and were accommodating afterwards. This seems to be a common issue that I think if resolved would generally result in happier repeat customers.
I use to dine here alot and the experience wasn't as good as it use to be.
A. S.
Impeccable experience as always. This is my go to restaurant when you are after yummy food and great service.

My wife and I have had the pleasure of Dimpy and his fantastic team catering our Wedding Reception and hosting our Mendhi night, both of which were exceptional. The food quality is impeccable and the service is without question one of the best. The whole team strives to ensure that guests are well looked after and catered for. We would recommend Urban Tadka to everyone for catering, dining and/or take away experience.
A. N.
Had to wait a bit but was so worth it. Food was super hot and fresh and tasted unbelievable
K. P.
This is the best indian ever. You will not be disappointed. Have been here many times and the food has an explosion of flavour. The atmosphere is fantastic and I love the music they play.
R. C.
We had our wedding here and was the best decision. Great Food, Ambience and outdoor décor was rustic. Moreover, staff was really very helpful and will recommend any day. Thanks Abhisek for all the arrangements.
J. D.
Our table had the 6 person banquet. The entrees were good, the mains were average. While the staff were well-trained, they were constantly trying to up-sell. They were doing sneaky (but blatant) tactics and pestering us to order more drinks - no matter how many times we said we were done. It was someones birthday at the table, and they kept encouraging them to have a birthday shot, and despite how much money was spent, we found out the shot wasn't even complimentary. I wouldn't return, it's overpriced and the service feels disingenuous.
Y. P.
One of the few awesome indian food places we look forward to. The staff is really helpful and friendly.
k. m.
Remarkable food, excellent atmosphere and even better service is what Urban Tadka is about. Been a regular for the past few years now and never been disappointed.
The owners as well as the staff members have done exceptionally well in keeping the standards high. Good job and I'll see you again!
M. I.
Was delivered delicious food from here as a gift from a friend❤️amazing and creative food. Loved the presentation!!!

We were a group of 10 and we went there for my friend’s birthday party. We had an amazing experience at Urban Tadka. The food was so fresh and flavoursome. All my friends are raving about this wonderful restaurant we have just discovered. Keep it up team urban tadka.
A. A.
By far the best Indian Restaurant in Sydney. Totally blown away with the food quality and the service. The lamb cutlets were amazing and so was the Nukkad Chicken.
A. A.
Ambiance and seating arrangement
Chef Asad has left no stone unturned to let you know that this establishment is his. There are a few pictures of him placed around the walls. Be warned that the seating arrangement is for maximum 6 people. They have to chop and change the seats for higher parties. My party was given two sofa seats without any back support.
Food and menu
Alot of the menu was unavailable (around 35 to 40%). Which is a shame, because there is not a lot of variety in restaurants. There is a daily special menu.
The food is worth its weight in gold. Chicken karahi, Manchurian chicken and Afghan boti were mind blowing.
The establishment looks good, food is awesome, but service let it down slightly
J. B.
Truly amazing - definitely the best Indian food I've ever had. Welcomed the moment I came in the door, treated to a phenomenal experience. Great food, great atmosphere, wonderful drinks, and top class service. Will definitely return here again.
G. F.
So scrumptious! I just ate at Urban Tadka and the food is super tasty. The meat cooked to perfection fell apart in my mouth.
The staff are all exceptional and very helpful.
I'll be back!!!
Ohhh, and great all round for functions!
I attended a kids party here and the grounds are perfect to add whatever you'd like.
Kids Mantra supplied a jumping castle, video games and an entertainer filling the space with non-stop bubbles.
Highly recommended for an intimate meal or a function. Check it out!!!
G. B.
Amazing food, staff and owners. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and the food is out of this world!
J. L.

We enjoyed the food at Urban Tadaka yesterday. Food is yummy and service is really good. Abhishek who is the manager looked after us very well. We had a group of 20 adults and he was extremely accommodating to our requirements. We will be going back for sure.

This was my first visit to Urban Tadka and had to drive all the way from Rockdale. I must say Urban Tadka’s, ambience and decor are class apart and the service is quick and highly presentable. We ordered Veg and Non Veg Starter platter with thoroughly cooked and spice flavours the “Sambusa” was class apart. Coming to the main course food, Nukkad Chicken is really amazingly tasty and must try, the real spice flavours in dal makhni made my day !! And finally breads options and malai kofta taste will take me again to this “Authentic and five star Indian Restaurant” in my view. Thanks to Mr Inder for his
S. P.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars to this favourite Indian Restaurant. No one in Sydney can beat their ambience, food & customer service. I am a Vegetarian and a Punjabi and this is the only place I could find an Authentic Daal Makhani . Try their Boondi Chaas,Daal Makhani, Kadhai Paneer and the desserts😍. Thanks Urban Tadka for your Great Service alwaysss....

Ridiculous. Just, ridiculous. This is not just the best Indian in Sydney - but one of the best restaurants in Sydney. On a standard midweek service, everything is still unbelievably fresh; spices clearly fresh roasted. Sauces individually prepped and flavours carefully assembled. This is not your average curry house.
V. S.
Great experience!!!
Definitely recommend it 👍🏻
Food could be brought in a bit quicker though 😅
But yeah overall, it's lovely place to have dinner with Friends and Family 👌🏻
T. C. D.
Excellent place to go and get your Indian food, highly recomend this!
G. R.
Fantastic food and beautiful decor. The service was outstanding and the staff are delightful; however, the restaurant was full and unfortunately the noise levels from the patrons made conversation difficult.
P. N.
Beautiful food, good service, lovely atmosphere and our 12 year old was safely able to run around.
The ladies bathrooms are NOT fine dinning quality, as my poor finger will attest as I managed to jam in in the door that doesn’t close properly!
V. B.
We had a function at the venue for 150 guests.
The quality of food was superb - all guests enjoyed it. The food was served from 2.30pm until 10.30pm.
The overall set-up was great and the continuing support from the owners and staff of Urban Tadka was commendable.
I would recommend this place not just for great food but also for functions. Everything was like clockwork.
Keep up the great work and a big Thank You !!!
R. S.
Nice ambience and atmosphere. Great food and service. Staff is friendly. Will surely visit again.

At last! A great local Indian restaurant which doesn’t serve puréed Palak paneer!! We ordered for the first time on the recommendation of a friend and were more than impressed. Lovely staff, fabulous food and a great price. Delighted. Highly recommended-try them. P.s- the restaurant wasn’t open to sit due to the virus but the ambiance was far superior to other local offerings. Lots of space, pretty lights, incense, great bar and great parking. Will go back for a meal when they are open fully.

Was blown away by this recent find. Indian is my favourite and after years of searching for a 'good' Indian in Sydney I've not only found one, but also found a new favourite restaurant! The venue is not your typical white table cloth daggy decor type place either. The design, furnishings and lighting have all been well thought out and make for a stunning evening setting. We went on a Saturday night and the place had a great atmosphere. All the dishes were to die for, and decent portions. Looking forward to working our way through the menu and coming back with friends!

What a great experience ....... could have never thought of an Indian restaurant this way.... amazing food and best hospitality ever. We came on a Friday night and were so confused with the options of what to order. But shradra helped us and assured it would be great. My husband was sure about her and let her choose from our entrees to dessert. Guess what we were amazed from her choices for say it food or our drink.loved her hospitality. Definitely coming back for her!
R. M.
The real taste of Indian Cuisine in whole Sydney. Nice and friendly staff who give you ideas about indian dishes. Luxury restaurant with above average price but you will get excellent quality specially Curries and Biryani.
Enough car spaces and inside facilities for parties or family gathering. 🚙
I would highly recommend this restaurant for weekend's night in particular. 👍
Z.
We hosted the first b’day of our lil one at UT. The event was perfect with the right blend of delicious food and impeccable service. Highly recommended and well done 👍🏽

I gave this place a 5 star only because you can’t give it a 6. It deserves a 10! We drove from the Central Coast to eat here, but I would drive a lot further now I know how good it is. Indian flavours that I have never tasted before.Superb, fresh cuisine, delivered quickly and at a reasonable price. I couldn’t fault this restaurant.
Absolutely brilliant. Can’t wait to come again.
A. M.
Utterly delicious and filling. Would've preferred a table in the main area, which has a great atmosphere but on short notice we were fit in at a small table tucked into the function room, which has very odd non-Indian styling - strange industrial lighting, grey walls. Could use a lot more atmosphere. Still, the food and service was terrific. We'll rush to get back there but I'll wear looser clothing next time ;)
Y. P.
Very nice staff and great service. Loved the ambience too
S. A.
great ambience and atmosphere. Wasnt cluttered, crowded and the food quality was great.
Location wise 0 because for sydney siders its a bit of a drive up to Mona Vale. The quantity needs improvement as you'd expect something extra after that 40 mins of a drive.
Great for parties and large gatherings. Food is somewhat similar to Pakistani cuisine if you arent looking for that extra spice factor.
K. P.
Awesome food Excellent service Great location

Urban Tadka has a new and exciting menu. We 💙 it. 😄
We dine at Urban Tadka regularly.
The service is always excellent. Thank you to Khush.
The food is incredible, full of Indian herbs and spices.
The Restaurant decor is amazing.
Urban Tadka has won many awards including Best Restaurant Of The Year.
Urban Tadka is a memorable Indian experience.
See you soon Urban Tadka.

Fabulous service, gorgeous vibe and atmosphere, the food was divine, took an hour for mains to come out but they were full capacity. In the middle of winter and it was really warm inside, my new fav place.
P. C.
Yummy! Great food and good service. It’s a bit strange being in a restaurant at low capacity due to the COVIDSafe rules but it’s great to be out again. That the first meal out was so delicious makes it even better! We will certainly be back!
K. P.
A big thanks to Dimpy and his team for catering amazing and delicious food during my Daughter' wedding and reception. You and your team handled both events flawlessly and provided such delicious food, which made both events even more memorable. Thank you for serving such a top class food and service to our guests.
Thank you very very much
M. C.
As a Brit who lived adjacent to the Curry mile in Birmingham, I can whole heartedly say this is a very good curry!!!
Service is hit and miss and it's on the expensive side, however the food is top notch.
P. B.
We were here last night and it was a great experience. The ambience is nice, the staff are attentive, the food was not spicy (just like we wanted). A restaurant that can take up a challenge to serve Daal Bukhara in it's menu can only go one way. It'd be interesting to see how it goes when we visit here the next time. Highly recommended in the interim.
L. D.
Amazing food, great service and atmosphere. We have been here many times and I’ve never once had a bad meal. The entrees are my favourite, usually we just order a bunch of entrees and never even get to the mains as they are so good!
B. H.
First time visit, and what a treat! Have been meaning to go for 3-4 months after a work colleague recommended it. Wasn't quite sure what to expect - it's much bigger than a typical Indian restaurant, but we felt welcomed and cosy from the moment we walked in. It's quite a sight at night and can see the attention to detail in the quality furnsihings, the music selection and the dimmed lighting creates a nice ambience too. My partner & I love Indian food and were happy to try recommended dishes. The Lamb Chops for entree wouldn't be my usual choice but were some of the best I've had. The Fish Malabar, Chicken Saag and the recommedned Shiraz were all nearly bested by the kind of dessert you'd expect in a fine dining establishment and sadly can't remember the name of! Definietly a few 'wow's! If you appreciate Indian food & hospitality, this is an absolute must.
S. W.
Have you had the same boring dining experience in Sydney for long ??? Try this place called Urban Tadka. Highly recommend this place for its mesmerising decor right from the entrance picture to food and service. I have had Indian food most of my life but this was the best. A special thank you to shada. Very helpful and a great communicator. Overall great to see something like this . Great work guys!
M. P.
Great food and the service is also really good ! We had takeaway couples times and eating in also the atmosphere is really nice , we had my partner birthday there with our family and it was really nice . They have vegetarian option
And the tiki glass are awsome , the staff is super friendly ! They can cater for birthday or big event .
M. O.
We ate at Urban Tadka on Saturday night with friends. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. If you love indian food i highly recommend you try this resturant!

Our son Kieran's and daughter in law Jeannie's wedding reception was held at Oatlands House on 4 th October 2019 and the catering was done by Urban Tadka. !80 guests attended the function. We, were totally satisfied with the quality, presentation and quantity of food served by Urban Tadka. The general feedback from guests was that they enjoyed the food and that the food was very well presented. They served canapes, entrees, a variety of main courses and desserts which were of a high standard. We are grateful to Dimpy Kanwar and his staff for their contribution to make the occasion a memorable and pleasant one.Dimpy was very easy to deal and flexible in dealing with our requirements. We have no hesitation in recommending Dimpy and urban Tadka.

An unique experience of Indian cuisine

An amazing place to eat. Definitely surprised me what a great venue this was. Located on Mona Vale Road, you would need to seek this restaurant out as it definitely a destination restaurant. Once you’re here it worth it. On this Sunday lunchtime, it was quite busy and buzzing with lots of families enjoying their Indian lunch. They don’t hold back on the spices for the western palate and enjoyed their authenticity. Service was wonderful and couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful.
We started off with some papadums that were served with mint sauce, beetroot yoghurt, salsa, and kachumber. Lovely dips that were tasty and great start to the meal. The Maharaja Kebab Platter was a success. It gives the group a chance to sample the best of the tandoori selection. You got to try the chicken and lamb (kebab style), lamb cutlets, barramundi, prawns, and chicken. Each varied in spice level but all were well cooked and yummy. The spiced didn’t overpower any of the items and enhanced it all.
The highlight of the lunch was The Urban Agari Lobster. Sweet succulent lobster pieces in a well spiced sauce, the presentation and flavours were on point. Although spicy it didn’t overpower the lobster in any way and I usually don’t enjoy spice but this was a triumph in my eyes. Also had the Kesari Lamb Sufiyana and tender pieces of lamb in a mild cashew cream gravy. Our basmati rice soaked up all the delicious sauce. The cheese naan was quite good too.
Dessert was a brilliant platter and our favourite was definitely the Pistachio Kulfi. There were also other kulfis and cakes on there too.
Wonderful place to have lunch and wish it was my local and it would be a treat to have it as such.
L. U.
Nice place and good food. Loved the tasty Indian dishes.
A. C.
Authentic Indian cuisine away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney! Great location and fantastic service. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the prawn dishes!
S. D.
Karen and I would highly recommend Urban Tadka catering!! Dimpy Singh provided us with an exceptional customer experience and was very prompt in replying to all of the questions we had. Dimpy helped us create a traditional yet contemporary menu for our wedding reception. Thinking back to the menu makes our mouth water! The presentation of the food was out of this world and till date our guests speak very highly of Urban Tadka. Thank you to Dimpy and team for the most beautifully presented and delicious food!!
A.
literally the best indian food in Sydney. the staff are warm, accommodating and the food is next level. I love this place. thank you urban tadka ❣️
A. S.
What an amazing place..... no words can describe the experience we had during easter holidays
Lamb cutlets melts in your mouth, i can have these all day & night,,,, lobster out of the world
What an experience i would say the best indian i had in the whole world & trust me i have tried many so called good restaurants but this one stands out
Cheers to the whole team
Keep up the good work.... i wish i can eat at urban tadka everyday its sooooooooooo delicious
S. N. N.
Amazing food and service. Each and every dish was really good, so were the portion sizes. Service was very quick and prompt. Will definitely visit again.
D. A.
I had been to this restaurant for a family get2gether on Saturday night .
Food was out of this world and so was the service. A big thank you to Shraddha and Brenda who made our night so special.
Best place to visit in Sydney. The only suggestion is to have a sound proof wall when you have functions. But that didn’t ruin our night much . Great work guys !
R. H.
Words cannot describe the enthusiasm, dedication and effort put in by the Urban Tadka team to make our engagement ceremony one to remember.
The attention to detail for each item was second to none and the food was absolutely delectable. Being of Indian origin ourselves sometimes we get stuck thinking “how different could our cuisine be? There are only a select amount of dishes”, however the creativity these guys employ makes you really wonder the things you can do with food!
A special shoutout to Dimpy ji who specially catered to us and made us feel like we were his own children. You made our event magnificent and we will forever be thankful for that.
Thank you very much for your great work and we look forward to our next culinary delight with you!
Kind regards,
Rustam & Harustat

Came here with 4 close friends and so impressed with the food, service and the whole ambience. The staff were tremendous, helpful and professional and the food simply delicious. Totally recommend this wonderful restaurant and thank you! We’ll be back soon!
M. P.
Food and ambiance were good although it's a bit pricy. There was plenty though so no complaints there. We had a banquet with quite a large group. Entrees were lovely although the distribution or quantity a bit out and down the end of the table we missed out a bit. Overall a quality experience and would recommend it
V. A.
We visited a couple of times recently.
A twist of Indian food is presented here. In particular, we loved spicy chatpate aloo baingan dish.
The salmon or any other fish is not on the menu, so we ordered barramundi fish dish but it was not to our taste.
The chicken was not soft and may be slightly overcooked.
The ambience and service is good. Overall experience is good.

Edited review : Ok I firstly want to write that we have always had a great experience with this restaurant . But unfortunately this time it was different. The starters weren't upto the mark on a busy night and unfortunately it wasnt one dish but all three. However I do personally believe that the mark of a good restaurant is , if they own up and actually work towards doing better and the way they received the feedback im sure that they will . The manager was kind enough to discount our meal which we appreciated . Waiting to come back guys . Please keep the feedback j mind
S. P.
Food was great and service was reasonably fast. Good selection of drinks but restaurant had run out of ice and a number of cocktails, which was a little disappointing. Ambience was also nice. However, the place gets crowded very quickly and even though we had made a reservation at a specific table/side of the restaurant, on arrival we still had to wait about for about 20 minutes.
J. B.
Lovely Indian food and great friendly service
R. B.
We eat there once A fortnight and there's a good reason why we keep coming back. We normally eat through the week so bookings are normally easier than the weekends as they are very busy.
I would recommend the Palak Paneer and the Malai Kofta. The entrees are out of this world I would highly recommend soft chicken and cauliflower dish
These guys don't win all the awards for no reason. There a great grasp on original Indian flavour mixed with Sydney presentation. I love how it same friendly faces year in year out they look after their staff as well as they look after their food. This place is well worth the visit.
d. m.
Been there twice and have been impressed both the times. Food, service and ambience everything gels together very well to make it a genuine fine dining Indian restaurant. Would recommend it

ABOUT THE PLACE
- Ambience is amazing
- A real fine dining experience
- One of a kind in Sydney
ABOUT FOOD
Starters (spice and taste well balanced):
Chicken Tikka - was too good and tender.
Chicken Malai Tikka - was mild and so very good and tender.
Mains:
Chicken Biriyani:
- Taste is average.
- More aligned to a curry rice than a proper biriyani.
- The rice is not properly cooked.
- Quantity is hardly sufficient for one person
Butter Chicken:
- Curry is awesome in taste and flavor
- The chicken was CHEWY and not like the one in starters
Mango Lassi:
- Taste is awesome
- Food coloring could've been avoided
- Quantity can be improved

Being British we really love our curries, so far all in Australia have disappointed... then came Urban Tadkha, amazing food from start to finish, great cocktails and great service, couldn’t fault it! Perfect, we will be back...Again!
W. D.
Quite expensive, however the food is a notch above the typical “Indian” fare. Really great depth of flavours. Look forward to going back.
M. B.
Absolutely amazing! Delicious fragrant flavoursome dishes, great service, perfect location. My fourth time there, will never get old!
S. D.
Public dealing can be improved but food is delicious.
W. d.
Beautiful place I could ever be . I celebrated my 80th with my family here. My wife and I are quite regular people here and love to come again and again . The hospitality is way beyond the best. I remember telling the female manager a while ago that I want to celebrate my 80th here and it is glad to see that she remembered that and got me a beautiful platter of desser with my name written. It was really great . Thanks girl . You will always be remembered for this beautiful experience.

Editing my review earlier after their reply:
My only grudge was what happened with us as explained earlier below.
They have responded and highlighted the prompt action taken.
Thanks guys!!!
Rerated from 2 to 4 stars now.
Ambience: Good
Taste: Good
Service: Good
Bad part was: Business tactic - On sitting at the table, the waiter comes and OFFERS papad with raita and salsa dip. But somehow fails to mention that they would charge you for it. Only when I get the bill do I realise they have charged me $11 for some papad and salsa dip with a minute bowl of cut onion.
I wouldn't mind the oversight, but when I told I hadn't ordered but offered (as if free) the billing guy looked away and didnt even bother to apologise or remove it from my bill. His look gave it away that it was a very normal occurrence at their place.
I just paid the bill and left off, and actually felt cheated.
No doubt the restuarant is good, but cheap business tactics to earn a few more dollars is just not right. And if its a staff issue, then they better sort it out with them asap!!
Definitely not going again, after being a happy customer for the last 4yrs!!
E. S.
We went a few times, but only for lunch, which isn’t a very crowded time.
It consistently has been a mind blowing experience with incredible food, great variety, as well as pleasant and quick service. All at a reasonable price considering quality and quantity — a lavish feast!
Could not recommend more.
S. E.
There are not a lot of good tasty restaurants in our area on the Northern Beaches which also provide take-away options, but luckily Urban Tadka is one of them. People will say it is one of the best Indian restaurants on the Northern Beaches, and I happily agree. We have tried a variety of dishes - super hot pork vindaloo, zesty lamb, mild korma,... plus the naan bread and poppadums with mint chutney, and we have never been disappointed. The phone order works fine, pick-up is usually within 30 minutes, and prices are moderate for the Northern Beaches. I have to admit, Urban Tadka is one of our guilty pleasures.
A. A.
The food was so good it was off the charts. The waiters were great. I recommend this place for everyone to come, you wont regret it.
M. J.
Excellent food and service. Great taste.
Go eat there, instead of reading reviews and you won’t be disappointed!! Food is authentic!
P. D.
Thank you Dimpy and team for making our dinner function such a great event. All the guest had such a wonderful time and they thoroughly enjoyed and commended on the excellent food and service.

I would have given it a 5, if it was not for the below average curry we had for main course and overpriced dessert platter.
Entrees Chicken Choosa, prawns , some veg kebabs and were really amazing. Biryani was really good as well. But as it got to the main course - Curry and dessert later on, we were really disappointed. We we complaint about the curry "Hyderabadi mugh mussalam" has almost sweet red curry. The menu said it is "hot". Guess what they did to fix it... got another one made exactly the same curry but with some chilli flakes or fresh chilli - as they called it. Next thing we spoke to the manager telling him what just happened. I am from India have had Indian food all my life. I know the difference between "hot curry" and adding chilli (flakes) to so called "murgh mussalum".
After much discussion manager agreed to a "mix up" in the kitchen and offered to waive off the price of the curry. By that time this fix was too late as we had lost interest in the food. Naans were all cold we were kept waiting and discussing.
All that discussion to replace a curry with an even worse one, and overpriced dessert to top it off left a bad taste in mouth after we had high expectations from entrees and biryani.
Disappointed as it could have been easily the best Indian food we have ever had in Sydney.
J. J.
Resort style ambience - truly. The decor is really good and creates a good mood. The cutlery, plates.. everything match the decor. Some good work done there. The bar at the front is truly a delight to watch with all the desi daaru boards and steel glasses.
Coming to food, the entrée is just out of this world. The meats were really juicy and nicely cooked, every bit of the meat had a nice taste of the spices.
The main course and dessert was disappointing though. The Murgh Musallam was just chicken pieces in a tomato gravy with lots of chilli powder. The gajar halwa itself was good (micro waved), but was served with something that tasted really weird.
Overall- the entree and the ambience really delighted us, but its definitely not worth visiting again (considering how pricey things were). For those visiting, recommend trying their Royal Tasting platter (which comes with Sheek kebab,Chicken Tikka,Prawns and Fish).
A. c.
Absolutely delicious! One of my favourite indian place. I went their with my partner's family who just landed from India and they all approved this place! Ambience is nice, food is delicious, good service: highly recommended place!
T. K.
Quite an authentic experience. Atmosphere kinda felt like an african safari but i like it. Food is good, and kinda worth it's price.
V.
Maybe the name of this restaurant might be more appropriately changed to Urban Tadka - Heart of Gold
They gratefully refunded my full deposit after a cancellation following my daughters hospitalisation . . :)
B. K.
One of the very good indian restaurant in Sydney. However its too busy on weekends.
Make sure that you call them and book the table in advance otherwise it would be difficult to get place specially in weekends.
A. S.
My favourite Indian restaurant in Sydney. Food and atmosphere is amazing and the staff are very friendly and always informative when picking a vegan dish
S. M.
Great food, great ambience but could improve the service. Some of the servers are just aloof and would mix up orders. But once the food is on the table, only good things could be said about them.
S. K.
Food is fantastic! Just as their service, staff and ambiance.
Great location too, peaceful.
R. T.
Best desi food in Sydney, hands down. Every dish we ordered was finger lickin good. Will be going back soon!
K. R.
Wonderful and quick service, great food and drinks. We went on a date but saw families having a good time as well. Can't wait to return!
P. M.
The food and service both are excellent.! The girl under the name Yamini suggested the Dal Makhani to us.! It was superb.! Thank you so much Yamini for gave us best service.! It was an amazing experience.! Really appreciate 👍
V. M.
Awesome food with nice ambience had a wonderful time with family. Nice place to have authentic Indian cuisine.
D. J.
Good food, but not spectacular. The vindaloo was really mild :( and we even asked for extra hot :o. Service was great. A bit overpriced based on the food and location though.
H. P.
They are unique in Indian restaurant. Excellent food quality, amazing service. Book table before your visit. At least you must visit once.
N. K.
Urban Tadka is not only an Indian restaurant that serves authentic Indian cuisine, but it also creates an envelope of warm and relaxed atmosphere that makes your dining experience memorable. The sheer size of the restaurant combined with the tranquil location of Terrey Hills, provides a resort style experience.
N. S.
Fantastic authentic food. Great ambience and decor. Good service
T. B.
The food and ambience is good.Evenings would be a better time to be there, rather than for lunch to get the feel of the real ambience,of course the food remains the same.It seemed to me that its little over priced than other Good Indian Restaurants in Sydney.Overall we enjoyed our visit!
R. M.
Location - middle of nowhere! (unless you live on the upper North Shore)
Food - amazing (I grew up in Delhi, India and the chicken tikkas, seekh kebabs and almost all the curries, naans and deserts hit the spot)
Staff - polite and courteous
Price - about $200 for 4 pax with wine
I'd recommend booking ahead as this place gets really busy on Friday and weekends as its the best (and possibly) only Indian restaurant for miles in any direction. Being a Delhi-ite I'd suggest
Entrees
Aalo Ki Chatpati Chaat (potato patties with tamarind sauce),
Murgh ke Tikke Karare (chicken tikka)
Lamb ki Champe Adraki (seekh (lamb) kebabs))
Mains - just go through the whole menu you will not be disappointed
Deserts - Gajar da Halwa (essentially Indian carrot cake - bloody amazing!)
K. s.
Great indian restaurant
L. R. F.
Hidden gem. Great atmosphere, very pretty restaurant. On the fancier side for an Indian restaurant - great date spot. Delicious food!

I’m from the UK nd literally this was one of the best food I had in Sydney. Just a little pricey but worth it.
I recommend trying it out.
m. m.
We have been to this restaurant a number of times since it opened and it has always been good but lately we have noticed that the portion size has gone down and the prices have gone up . Its a real pity as the location is good and so is the service . My Partner was still hungry when we left.
D. P.
Had to this place for birthday party celebration so limited finger food, taste were nice, limited serving of main food item, good venue for party open and enough parking. Toilet is stuffy as they burn heavy incenssee and you have mix smell of urine and incessense
l. p.
Been going for years the most incredible service restaurant and food, you will not be able to enjoy an Indian meal any were else after eating urban tadka’s food it is that good, never want my meal to end.
P. S.

P. G.
Amazing ambience! Good food! Can include more dishes..

Urban Tadka (UT) is like an all in one package. Some Indian restaurants have good food but crappy decor, some have good decor but Ok food but UT has both. Its great decor is complemented by great food. Thanks guys
v. p.
I thi k they have changed the chef here, it used to be very good Indian food but this time the butter chicken tasted more like tomato ketchup, good atmosphere though.
I.
This place is amazing! Highly recommend 😍
Food and drinks are delicious and staff was really nice
Definitely will come back
M. L.
Amazing food and beautifully appointed restaurant. Definitely the place to go to spoil your other half. A word of warning - the food is rather spicy.
L. J.
Very good!! Lived up to expectations, quite possibly the best Indian did I've ever had.
R. M.
This is literally 'the best' quality Indian food in Sydney. It is sensational. It's worth every cent.
M. P.
Starters are delicious.. Horrible main course.. I ordered 1 chicken and 1 veg curry..1 has liquid gravy n the other was totally dry..wait time between starters and main was too much..even desserts served 18 minutes after the order
R. B.
Amazing service catering to the varied needs of vegetarian and vegan diets with knowledge inclusive attitude.
S. A.
Ambience is good. Curry was tasty but Naan and Parathas were not served hot. So this time only 3 stars.
a. s.

To be honest the food was very authentic and fresh believe me being from Delhi i have tried numerous Indian restaurants in Sydney as i love Indian food.Everything was a class apart in Urban Tadka from food to ambiance and for sure the lively atmosphere.Even though the restaurant was full being saturday our orders were served very quickly and the waitress was very sweet and really took good care of us.Very neat and clean loved it .The only suggestion to the management would be to add more parking and a Pan Stall.
J. K.
Brilliant food, great presentation, and the service was totally professional.
N. J.
Amazing food, good customer service and classy ambience. Will highly recommend.
