Been here a few times and their pizzas are always the best. A good challenge if you can handle the heat is the Thor pizza. They have made some recent changes to the inside and seating, which is great. Even better, they have Ekim brewed beer that is really nice! The cocktail that was made, Odin Tears, was one of the best cocktails that I have had (not that I have many). Highly recommend for families or adult outing.

Great wood-fired food, can't go wrong with any of the choices. Cheesy tomato relish garlic bread was pretty good. Valkyrie pizza tasted solid. And the wood-fired apple crumble was nice. Came at an unusual time so I'm not sure if the apple crumble was freshly made or heated up\microwaved. Scenery is lovely and peaceful and the Viking themed beers on tap are delicious.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Extremely impressed! Breath taking venue, stunningly decorated. Food was jaw droppingly delicious! Best rack of ribs I’ve ever had and such great pizzas! Delicious range of drinks and beer. Awesome merchandise and the service was outstanding! If I could give them 10 stars I would… head back for a second night in a row!

A nice place to visit for dinner, the staff were great, and the alfresco overlooking the longhorn cows and pine forest were nice. The pizza was good 3/5. Having tried many pizzerias, everyone will have their differing opinions. Nice woodfired base, but not exceptionally topped. I will visit again and try the ales and desserts to refine my rating.

It was a nice experience. The restaurant is themed throughout and has a nice warm feel. The pizza menu is different which was good. Loved the chilli 🌶 pizza. They had a good bar with a range of good whiskey and rum. Next time, I will go there during the day, the open area at the back looks amazing to visit and have kids run around.

Beautiful venue!! Had my wedding ceremony at Salt Ash than we kicked on at Valhalla for the after party, all of our guests commented about how nice the pizza was & how great the spot is. Highly recommend!!

From our first foot in the door we could hear the cries of the vikings that came before us. My Midguard burger was off chops & really made me feel reunited with my ancestors. The views that blessed our eyes were like the gates of Valhalla itself. Golden green grasslands to be untouched, only by the gods themselves. Very friendly staff & 10/10 experience. Valhalla shall await my return.

Who doesn't love a dress up party The Valhalla restaurant is amazing in hosting it. Even the staff crew dress up, and I tell ya they look mighty fierce. Follow their Facebook page and come dress up when they host an event! Beautiful looking restaurant too, very unique. A must visit when you come to Port Stephens whether it's day or night or both haha

We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids. Food was lovely and whilst there is space for kids to run around on the grass, they had a hose going on (I’m presuming to be) dry patches but just created a mud pile. Has the potential to be a great family restaurant with the space they have however with the rule list at the front for kids and negative feel from the staff when kids were present, it didn’t quite hit the mark. Thor pizza was great though and beers were tasty and ice cold. Some fans might also help with the flies as well.. *** In response to the Owners response*** I do understand that children need to have boundaries. I do think though that having a sign with a long list of things kids can and can't do at the entry is a bit off putting, as was the staffs reaction. You have a huge area of grass nowhere near the bar and away from the smoking area however apparently they can't run on it (?) If you're wanting kids to stay seated, might I suggest some pencils and colouring in mats (we had our own in any case) and maybe treating families on a case by case basis without the passive aggressive signage. Having worked in hospitality, I do know that some parents don't monitor their kids and it can be frustrating, but painting everyone with the same brush will simply alienate a client base which really could (and would!) support your type of business.

Valhalla Restaurant and Bar is such a beautiful place for a wedding, a hidden gem we were so lucky to have found from the magical drive way to the pine forest and the rustic and intimate feel you get from the first moment you walk through the door. The staff are beautiful and welcoming we were so lucky to have Indigo as our wedding coordinator up until the day she is amazing and very professional at what she does, she replies fast, has a friendly and bubbly personality and is easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. Her love for the place made us fall even more in love with it. She Helped us in every way she could and answered all our questions no matter how silly they were. We started with a wedding coordinator and ended up with a friendship. Indigo showed us around and let us come and see the place as many times as we wanted to get a feel of how we were going to set it up and gave us suggestions too all while planning her own wedding which was the day before ours. She still made us a priority even on the week of the wedding she was still in contact and checking in on us. Kirra was our Coordinator on the day and she was absolutely fantastic, she made sure everything was running smoothly, checked in on us multiple times, took us to all the wedding photo locations, became an honorary bridesmaid helping me with my train and doing up my bustle to get it out of the mud, had the bug spray for us all, just truly there for you to make sure you have the most amazing day and we did. We thank you both for everything. Big props to Julian for bringing the place to life with all your handy work and for giving us advice on the day while setting up. You have truly made this place something special. Our wedding was a magical real-life fairy-tale even though it ended up raining the wet weather option was just as beautiful. All of the colours on the vines and on the trees really brought it to life and made our ceremony. It’s a very relaxing and chilled space which everyone loved, it wasn’t so up tight like a normal wedding, the atmosphere and the staff are great. Not to mention all you can eat wood-fired pizza (which was amazing) and endless garlic bread how could you not love this place and for a fair price. We had the most amazing day; Valhalla will always hold a special place in our hearts, we will definitely be back. The numerous spots to have photos on the property makes for an amazing range for your wedding photos, every area makes it seem like you are in a completely different place and you don’t even have to leave Valhalla to do it. This helped a lot with keeping time on the day and not having to transport the bridal party and us around to different locations. They also have some cheeky Scottish highland cows which also make for some cute photos. Valhalla really does have something for everybody whether it be for a sit down or a cocktail wedding with beautiful scenery and amazing staff that go above and beyond. This place is truly where the coast meets the country and an amazing venue to make your wedding day something really special. Love the Camposes xo

Chilli cheese bread, wood fired pork ribs (sadly no Traditional Potato Mash with it however not a Valhalla Tradition) and pizza were amazing for sure. From my previous visits the Burgers are great too; However, I do agree with other reviewers that this place can do so much better with the menu to compliment the Valhalla name; Gluttonous and Gianttanous meals lol. Please Bring on some selections of wood fired juicy steak (tomahawk) 😋. Will be back as Usual…

We went here for dinner and when we first walked in we were amazed at the theme, so much detail and we felt like we were in Whiterun in Skyrim! The food was absolutely amazing! The staff were so friendly and lovely too. We will definitely be returning!

I have walked into the restaurant and it is a nice relaxing atmosphere they have a main bar area they have an outside area for sitting there is a nice sitting area at the front you can smell the wood fire pizza oven burning before they even start cooking it smells nice the staff are really friendly and helpful and it has that real. Homely atmosphere I would highly recommend this place for anybody coming to Nelsons Bay or Anna Bay or Downey Bob's Farm as it's really nice from mwh the pizzas are so nice and you can even get take away pizza this place is terrific

My Fiancé and I have always pointed out Valhalla restaurant when we drive past as the pretty fairy lights are eye catching, and finally last night we made the time to dine in for dinner which was definitely worth it! The pizza was absolutely delicious, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was amazing! A lot of thought has gone into the decor and lay out of this beautiful restaurant, it would also be perfect for a function. I will definitely be back for more delicious wood fired pizza and a pint or more of their signature beers! Highly recommend! Thank you for the great experience.

I give 4star for the pizza. We ordered the seafood pizza and another which had "(hot)" on the menu. It was yummy wood fired pizza and the hot one had salami cheese and lots of chille. I wouldn't recommend the hot pizza cuz it blew our heads off being Asians and having eaten spicy food all our lives. Wait for food was a little long but was worth it. It is a nice relaxing atmosphere. Didnt find the staff very friendly but no complaints.

Amazing place, beautiful view, family business, everybody is nice and friendly. Pizzas were very good. My only suggestion is - put a sign with opening-closing hours. We wanted to have breakfast here the next day, but it was closed. The reception isn't good in this area, so we couldn't look online what time it opens. upd: stopped by again to have some pizzas for lunch, and unfortunately both my husband and I didn't feel well afterwards.

Went to a friend's birthday party there. Was impressed with the outlay and cleanliness of the place. Some of the meals were impressive and appeared they had been prepared for two people. My other half is allergic to cheese and it seemed every dish had a cheese component which was not impressive to her. However, overall it was a very pleasant afternoon. Parking is close and convenient for disabled people and the setting is quaint for a Viking Style establishment. Would visit again.

I wish I could give this place more stars! The staff were so lovely, welcoming and accommodating. The food was the real show stopper though, this is a restaurant who really cares about making delicious quality pizza with a gorgeous fireplace and decor to match. The venue and staff are absolutely amazing here. Have been to the venue several times for lunches and dinners. Recently had my wedding ceremony and reception to which I could not fault. Amazing atmosphere, the wedding package options were great value and excellent service from my first day of looking at the venue right and all the way through till the big day. Lovely atmosphere, lovely selection of food (suitable for vegetarians and vegans) although they make no changes to their menu. Nice, wide selection of drinks and the overall Nordic vibe with an open field in the back under the sun and some breeze makes it the perfect stop for a meal with friends, family or dates. Would definitely recommend for a great meal and opportunity to have a lovely chat with ample indoor and outdoor seating options.

A little pricey for the drinks and meals, which need to be ordered from 2 different locations along the bar. You need to gather your own cutlery from buckets (doesn't seem so hygienic in these covid times). Unable to modify any of the meals. The ribs claimed to come with a side of slaw but it was mixed lettuce with chopped tomato and chopped cucumber on top and a sweet salad dressing poured over it. Certainly not a slaw. Highly recommend!! We had a mix of Gluten Free and Standard bases and they were both amazing (I can vouch for GF, it was the best base I ever had ... and I’ve had a few). The staff were ultra helpful and even gave us some local dive tips. The atmosphere also added the the appeal, I don’t know any other restaurant that you can pat a Highland Cow before sitting down in an authentic setting to enjoy your meal. Great pizzas with unusual and tasty toppings, rustic setting with inside and outdoors seating. Desserts and cakes. Coffee and wine/beers. Anything you want for a leisurely arvo or meal. Bring aeroguard as the locals like joining you too. Meals a little on the high side but good quality.

Had lunch here today after driving past for many years and I am glad we stopped in. The setting is really nice out the back with 3 places to choose from to sit. We sat out on the grass under the shade of their large umbrellas. They specialise in pizzas and we ordered two different types. I had the Thor and it was marked as really spicy!!!! It was..... lol but it was really good and I’m glad it had some spice. I would recommend a milk shake to cool you mouth down and stop your eyeballs from sweating lol. In all seriousness it was really nice though. The entire place seems to have a really cool atmosphere and a relaxing place for a beer. I will return here for a beer and pizza in the future.

We have been here three times and so far, the pizzas have been great - if a little pricey - but on a couple of those occasions the service has definitely been a bit off. Sadly, this is not unusual for this area. The side salad here is enormous with lots of delicious, fresh ingredients but disappointingly, was obviously dressed with a shop bought, Heinz dressing. This was surprising because the pizzas are actually quite gourmet, my pizza was drizzled with olive oil and there was a dish of limes on the front counter for sale.....?? So...the next time I mentioned it and asked if I could get some balsamic, lime and olive on the side instead and was told "we don't have balsamic...". Right. And the third time, when the waitress on duty made it patently obvious hat we were intruding on her sense of wellbeing simply because we had dared to turn up, we were told that there was balsamic (this time) but no such thing as a lime or a lemon. Very odd things to not have in a normal pantry/fridge especially when you are a food outlet. Seriously. homemade dressing isn't a challenge and manners cost nothing.
