I’ve been in this place more than 2 years ago and that time I was a bit disappointed, I expected more from this restaurant. On my review I was complaining about my pizza: tasty but extra thin, like a leaf; and cheese didn't even cover the whole base. I was also complaining about the service. Besides that, the atmosphere was and it is lovely there. Saturday we were sitting close to the water and there were also fireworks and full moon, very romantic. We had gnocchi and I was pleasurably surprise to find pizza with fries. It’s a type of pizza usually sold on the north of Italy and Sardinia, I’ve never found it in other Sydney restaurants. I was curious to know why they have it on the menu and I found out that actually the owner is from Sardinia. I had a lovely dinner, definitely better than the first time, and even the service was so much better.

Amazing place with an amazing view. Worth suffering through the cold just to sit outside and enjoy the bay. Excellent service and beautiful food. Pizza was great and my colleagues enjoyed the pasta. The service was friendly and the location is fantastic. The prices are about what you expect for this type of classier establishment for Italian food. I was especially pleased with the arancini type of appetizer. That was the best thing that I ate there tonight. Other than that, I felt that the eggplant in the rolatini was undercooked and there was way too much oil on my pizzas. The truffle oil flavor was overpowering the pizza and then made the pizza taste of nothing other than that oil. I was also not pleased that I had to pay $5-6 for a few pieces of bread. I understand why people love this place, but my experience was not good today.

Welcome back, Ventuno! I was a bit worried after learning earlier in the year that the restaurant had changed hands, as the original team were great! My wife and I had dinner there on Saturday night and the experience was a delight. The decor has been updated a little and the staff were plentiful and efficient. While there seems to be more emphasis on pizza and less on pasta, the food was outstanding - the calamari friti and the bbq eggplant as starters were delicious! We both selected pasta dishes - the rigatoni with beef ragu - al dente to perfection - and my wife had the king prawn and mussel spaghetti. Yummo. And try the Titamisu.... Next time we'll bring some friends to try to big share dishes - Bustecca Fiorentina and whole lobster spaghetti - wow! Solid wine selection with pricing to suit everyone. Talking to our waitstaff, we found out that the place only reopened two days prior - amazing that it was all running so smoothly. The only suggestion would be to change the menu from 2 to 3 pages to get the tiny font size up a few notches - with the gorgeous ambient lighting it was quite difficult to read the fine print (which was all of it)- I don't need glasses and found it quite tricky, and did see a couple of tables using their iPhone torch. We'll definitely be back.

I've been for the second time to Ventuno today and I can confirm that the staff is absolutely nice and delightful. I first took and antipasto platter that was delicious, except for the arancini sauce which I personally found a little bit unsalted but anyway the entrée was fear and filling. About the mains, I picked a spaghetti with seafood and a risotto with prawns and zucchini. The first one was fine while the risotto didn't seem to be cooked in a proper way. I presented my complaint about it to one of the supervisor who has been very helpful and nice at all. The location is very nice and relaxing. Especially if you take a sit outside, as I did, you can enjoy the lovely view.

We hosted a birthday in February, the Event Coordinator Silvia was fantastic with assisting us in organising the dinner for 50 of our guests. The staff were wonderful on the night of the party and the food was amazing, so many positive comments from our guests. Ventuno is an ideal venue for a casual dinner or any celebration and perfectly located by the water - stunning for photos. Ventuno Restaurant is one of our family favourites!

Had my daughters bridal shower there today. Everyone enjoyed themselves food was fantastic. Service was great. However I had ordered the cannoli for desert WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT we had 30 guests and every single person there commented on how horrible they were. All I got from staff was “ this is how we serve them maybe we will change our supplier”. But I still was charged for them. Which after spending over $3500 they should have taken them of the bill seeing they were absolutely below standard.

Roberto and his team of highly reputable and knowledgeable chefs have always ensured a great dining experience when at the restaurant. I've had the chance to be introduced to Ventuno a long time ago (a decade or so?) and since then, with family and friends, I've always had nothing but real pleasure in eating and drinking real Italian food / wine. A 10/10 restaurant, not a doubt. Location, quality of ingredients, environment and amazing staff always make it a memorable experience.

Beautiful views overlooking the harbour with some lovely Italian food. We had the antipasto and 3 pizzas. The antipasto was rather small for the price tag, you paid pp. The pizza was lovely but was a bit on the sloppy side (need a knife and fork for half of it unless you want to use your outfit as a napkin). The crust was lovely. HOT TIP There is 10 dollar parking on Sundays at the carpark!

We stopped by today after visiting Taronga Zoo, we were welcomed by friendly staff and promptly seated. The views and atmosphere is exceptional. We ordered the Leggera (2-4 people) share plate which had meatballs, rice balls and fried calamari, all were very flavoursome and went well with a nice glass of sangeoivese. It was reasonably priced and I would highly recommend anyone who enjoys their food and wine to visit.

Very popular Italian eatery by the water. Primarily pasta and pizza dishes. If you want a taste of the way some Italian waiters treat tourists then this is the place. I enquired as to an ingredient present in all the pizzas (fiore di latte)as my partner has some sensitivities and was disdainfully informed that "it's cheese of course". I asked if it was possible to leave it off to be told we don't do that here. Assuming this meant it was integral to the dish I was surprised to find it dolloped on After the pizza was cooked...the pizza itself was quite good after scraping off the unwanted ingredient. This place has been suggested from a local friend for a business dinner. You wouldn’t say that this is in Sydney Walsh Bay, as feels like a restaurant you can find in many European fishermen village: secluded and very well-kept, great food and fantastic view. Our table was in the quay and I recommend to request a similar position to enjoy the atmosphere. I will definitely come back here next time I will be back in Sydney.

I found this place on line as I was looking for a place to have my mothers 80th birthday dinner (16 people). From the minute they answered the phone the staff were nothing but wonderful. I had never eaten there before but just the service I received on the phone was already a huge positive. When we arrived we had the chef and one of the staff meet with us to discuss the menu, they were so flexible and easy to work with. My 80 year old mother (typical little Italian woman :-)) is impossible to please, if she didn't cook it then it can't be any good and so we were a little concerned how she would go with the food. For the group we selected from the excellent menu but for my mother we asked the chef if he could prepare something special and he was only to pleased to accommodate my mother. Well as the courses came out we were all delighted at the quality of the food, not one complaint from the table which had to be a first for my family. The service was outstanding and the meals delicious. My mothers meal must have been excellent as she ate it with a big smile on here face. The chef even came out to speak to her to ask how the meal was, just amazing service. I can't recommend this place highly enough, great food, wonderful staff and a great spot we will be returning. thank you for making mums 80th birthday dinner such a wonderful night

Extremely quick service on a busy evening before heading to a show. Pizza and salad were both delicious, albeit a little overpriced. Wine was good, staff were friendly but a little slow on the drinks side of things. Overall a great venue, best to book ahead if you have a group, we were lucky to squeeze onto a shared table with two of us, but on a busy evening that means you have to eat quick and get out! If you're going to have a more relaxed meal best to book ahead.

Great for large groups and on a sunny day sitting with a water view. Food was great, with large pizza servings which are of very good quality. Highly recommend the truffle pizza for which an eggplant version was requested for vegetarians - amazing. The Tiramisu lacks a strong coffee kick unfortunately, but was still quite good. Service was a little slow and erratic at times but friendly nonetheless.

Went on a Sunday night, wasn't busy. Food is good. Staff not so much, wasn't shown to our table, took awhile for someone to serve us. Then they forgot about our mains, waited 40 mins for pizza. Only after we asked then they cooked it. Nothing was offered complimentary, even though it was their mistake.

Nice breezy restaurant by the water, has outdoor and indoor area. Food was good, however some food are overcooked while a few a bit undercooked - salmon was overcooked which is a shame, and brussels sprouts probably not stirred evenly so the veggies not all cooked evenly. Steak was well cooked and entree was tasty. Staff keep the drinks flowing and frequently ask if you would like to top up or want a new glass of drinks. Need to be careful when they take your order especially if it's a hard/difficult drink as we experienced wrong order due to the staff's lack of understanding in English. So don't expect them to understand your jokes.

My husband and I accidentally found this place last night and we decided to give it a go. We ordered 2 pizzas and the dough was very soft and well cooked, I am Italian and for me I think there was way too much mozzarella on both pizzas, what makes the pizza heavier that it could be if only had half of the cheese on it. However the ingredients were premium quality and very well sourced. For me the only disappointment was the fact we were never offered wine or beer, that was the reason why we stopped as the claim to be Enoteca and Birreria. We were offered sparkling water and it stopped there. Either than that the overall experience was very good, service really fast and they looked fairly busy.

I fortunately stumbled across this restaurant by recommendation of our hotels concierge whilst celebrating wedding anniversary with the wife. Being married into an Italian family i know good food and this little gem certainly did not dissapoint. The service was absolutely exceptional and the quality of food for mine has left many other restaurants in its wake. To all staff concerned thankyou for a great dining experience we will definitely be back in the not to distant future.

Nice restaurant with good views. We were there in a group of about 20 ppl for a party so the food was part of a set menu. Entrees were mixed Italian cold meats, Italian meatballs, calamari and stuffed egg plant which was all delicious, pasta was spaghetti bolognese and a truffle risotto which were good followed by a variety of pizzas which was OK. We were greeted by friendly staff as we arrived an the wait staff were really friendly and did a great job looking after us. Over-all not the best Italian food we have had but a nice place which is great for a lazy Sunday lunch!

I have eaten here now four times. I have never been disappointed. Staff are attentive but not intrusive, food is great, delicious and just the right portion sizes. Atmosphere is welcoming. There is a variety of seating from snacks at the bar to tables and chairs (inside and outside with gas heating for winter), and lounges around small tables for cosy drinks and desserts after the theatre. I will be back again too, just you wait.

I've been frequenting this water front eatery for a year now and they rarely disappoint. Staff are friendly and helpful and food is fresh, flavoursome and most importantly... quick! Takeaway wait times for pizzas & pastas is usually 5-10mins max. Dining in is always a pleasure especially when it's a lovely Sydney day and you've snagged an outdoor seat under their generous awning. They cater well for large and small events as well.

So delicious! Everything was perfect - from the imported beer and wine to the entré to the main to the dessert. The Taffu pizza is seriously one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten in my life. A wonderfully located Italian restaurant on the Hickson Road waterfront at Walsh Bay. Service is provided by the largely Italian wait staff and is very professional though lacking a little of the famous Aussie warmth. The food is good quality basic Italian fare with pasta, fish, meat and pizza on offer. The wine list offers a nice selection of Australian and Italian. Pricing is mid range for Sydney. Overall a very pleasant place for a casual lunch, pre theatre dinner or a family celebration.

Held my 40th birthday on Saturday 27 April at Ventuno Walsh Bay in the Private Dining Room. Would firstly like to thank Ester and Silvia for all their help in planning my event, from the emails back and forth, menus etc, your assistance was very much appreciated. I was able to go earlier so I can setup my table arrangements, place cards, music etc. There was a smart tv in the room as well so we were able to cast a-league and nrl games from our application for my guests. The private room itself was amazing, with a lounge area inside and also outside on the waterfront. The view was perfect and it is quiet without a lot of traffic (people walking by) on the waterfront. When my guests started arriving, they were greeted with offers of drinks by both Francesco’s. These 2 guys I cant thank enough, they were fantastic, courteous and always in conversation with my guests. I selected the 4 course banquet shared menu platters. We started with meatballs in tomato, calamari, arancini, zucchini flowers and the best rosemary pizza I have had. There was a lot of food on these shared platters. The pastas were Orecchiette with sausage, broccoli, chilli and garlic and Mezze maniche pasta with pork ribs, Italian sausage and beef rump ragu which again was delicious and so much. By this time my guests were quite full but still had more food to go. For the shared mains we had pan fried snapper fillet and chargrilled beef sirloin with seasonal vegetables. Again delicious. Everyone was full by this time. Whilst I didnt expect it, the guys put all the left over food in containers for me to take home so it didnt go to waste, which it didnt, we had the leftovers for dinner on Sunday night. I selected gelato for the dessert which were mixed flavours of pistachio, hazelnut and vanilla. For service of alcohol, I found it relatively quick and the drinks were flowing all night, the Thank God Im a VIP was one of the best I have ever had and I think the most ordered drink of the night. All my guests commented that the view, food and easy flow of drinks were amazing and cannot fault this place. Again, thank you so much to Ester, Silvia, Francesco, Francesco, the cooks, bar staff, you guys did an amazing job on and before the night which made it such a success. I have no hesitation in recommending this venue for private functions.

It is not visible from the street and the area is predominantly residential so most people in the area either live there or are going to the restaurant. Ventuno's pizzas are first class. It's hard to go pass the classic margherita but my personal favourite is the Taffu - Italian sausage, gorgonzola cheese and a whole lot more. They also do pick-up at 10% off which is little known but a gem of a deal if you want to grab a pizza and hang on one of the nearby wharves. Otherwise, find yourself a nice sunny day and a seat outside, order a few antipasti platters, a pizza or two and sink some vino rosso and wile away the hours. It's the busiest restaurant in Walsh Bay for a reason.

Ventuno is one of those tucked away places you might only know if you frequented the Ros Packer Theatre down at Walsh Bay. It's authentic Italian - Veneto style and the delightful staff are a bonus as is their varied and tasty menu. The Sunday pizza & bevvie $25 is perfect but I'm a happy return customer. Sipping an Aperol while enjoying the harbour and sunset was divine! It's worth looking for!
