I tried this place before and liked their crispy whole snapper. This time they didn’t have snapper and we ordered a flathead and a barramundi, but they weren’t good at all.

We had another great experience here last night for mums birthday. Mum and I shared the seafood platter for 2 and everything in it was excellent. Seafood was nice and fresh and everything was seasoned nicely. People who complain about the service need to learn how restaurants work, they won't stand at your elbow waiting on you, just call them over when you need something. They were very responsive.

Food was fresh and tasty. Nice and relaxing by the water. They still provide unasked-for plastic straws. Really Annoying. I asked about it and they said too many customers kept asking for them. Maybe switch to paper straws and charge more if required then. Service was rather disinterested.

Booked at the restaurant for dinner Saturday 12th Feb 2022, and didn’t read the reviews until the night before. Decided to give it a go anyways, and delighted we did! My wife, 5 year old daughter and I had a lovely evening. The Seafood platter was fresh, tasty, and just yummy. The oysters (Kilpatrick and Natural) where perfect, and the muscles where just beautiful. Prawns, fresh large and crisp. And the Lobster mornay was creamy, tasty and cooked to my liking. My wife really enjoyed her mojito cocktail. Overall Quality was really great. All we wanted was good quality tasty seafood, and it’s exactly what we got, that we came back for breakfast today, and wasn’t disappointed! While there about 10 seafood platters went out and all appeared to be the same quality and everyone looked to be enjoying their food. Thank you!! Would certainly recommend.

Nice view from the restaurant. Food is reasonable. The staff try their best but they need some proper hospitality training - Just basic things like pouring a wine correctly (not filling the glasses to the extreme top), table setup etiquette, customer service etc.

It has potential to be fantastic. Great view of the ocean. Food is ok but very overpriced for what you get. We don't mind paying if it matches the quality of what is received but the quality of food, service and decor did not match the price. It seems that the style of cooking and presentation is from the 90's. It would be nice to see a professional chef to organise the menu. We had the mixed seafood plate - that was nice but a bit boring. 3/5 The octopus dish was tiny and underwhelming flavours for $17 (I don't recommend it). 2/5 Oysters - would order again 4/5 Garlic bread - 2/5 Bottle of Prosecco was a reasonable price and would order it again. 4/5 I think next time the pub around the corner will be our choice.

Came up from Sydney and wanted some oysters. The view is fantabulous! Had a so-so Marlborough Sav Blanc it's flat and you know it's been opened for a day. They only had Sydney Rock oysters no Pacafic. See photos of current menu and pricing is different then previous menus posted. Would come back again for the view!!

Thoroughly impressed with this place. Perfect for our family of 4. Having a table sat out of the wind, looking over the water in the winter sun was such a treat. Friendly, attentive service with white wine and delicious seafood. Being shown the live (!) lobster and fresh fish of the day was a nice surprise too. We had the seafood platter, with the prawns and lobster being the highlight. Would recommend

Overpriced but wonderful view, and it took ages for food to get ready and the waitress to serve us! Food was delicious but very little compared to the price charged! We were hungry at the end! The scallops didn’t come with any sides, and the chips was not crispy or hot! Very lame! I expected more, much more!

I don't understand how this place has not got over 4 stars because the service and food was beautiful. We got a great table for two right by the window, staff bring the fish out to show you and we could not resist their Dory and Salmon dishes.

Due to the high price and location in front of the water, I was expecting this place to deliver a high end meal. Unfortunately it wasn't. What we got was an ok meal that would normally get @ your local pub for cheaper price. The service was also not the best with the waitress starting to clear the table before my wife finished eating and taking my wife unfinished plate away.

The staff were amazing and took our order with a smile. Very polite! We ordered the chilli prawns and the octopus for the entree and had to order some garlic bread to soak up the sauce it was too delicious to waste!! For the mains we shared the summer salad and the whole John Dory fish, they were fantastic and the mango was a nice touch to the salad. Definitely recommend this combo. We shared the chocolate delight and loved it! We'll definitely be back!!!

Went with friends to celebrate a 70th birthday. We booked a table for four on the terrace outside and it was dining with a great vista. The staff were very helpful and even stored and then bought out a birthday cake for us. The food was good with two of us having John Dory and two Barramundi which we all enjoyed. Some of the dishes were excellent like the octopus whilst others were a massive disappointment like the overcooked Dory. Kind of an RSL vibe but higher prices. Nice view. Probably can't justify the prices they charge for the overall quality of the food.

Look, this place wasn't the worst, and the food was edible and cheap in my opinion, but there is plenty of room for improvement. Cocktails are tiny while you are still charged city pricing... The staff were pleasant but our booking was bungled. A booking for 7 was made a week and a bit in advance. 7 people at 7. Even when making the booking there was a giggle about it. 7 at 7... When we arrived, we were told our table for 4 was ready. They provided a table for 4 because they didn't know how many people our booking was for. Which is odd... because of the 7 at 7 giggle that was shared at the time of the booking. There ended up being only 6 of us as one of our party had too cancel. So 6 of us were seated at a table suitable for 4 people. After 20 mins, we noticed another table of two leave and asked if they could merge our tables together so we had adequate seating, which they did. However it was still off putting. Everyone enjoyed their meals, which I would liken to like an RSL type quality. Not excellent but not horrible. As an out of towner who was spending the night at a nearby apartment, I wasn't expecting too much based on the reviews. It was a very affordable bill at the end of the meal. If i could give 3.5 stars, that would be my preference

We went for dinner on Friday night for my birthday. We ordered 2 entrees, 2 mains, 2 desserts and both had drinks. Everything was perfectly cooked and very well priced for a seafood restaurant! Visit regularly as I travel to The Entrances frequently for short stays. Food is very nice. Used to be Excellent, a little disappointed this last visit, dined 2 days in a row. 2 dinners & 1 breakfast. 1st dinner, wet walls & floor from the weather, no lighting, we couldn't see the menu or what we were eating. Tasted a bit oily & overcooked the lobster & bug. Next day break was on the boardwalk & very nice food.Coffee Luke warm, although asked for Xtra hot. Eggs & bacon was nice. 2nd dinner, lighting was on & ordered another platter for 2. Still oily fish, lobster & bug overcooked. Prawns weren't cold. Cooked seafood, not hot, barely warm. Don't think we will return as both nights the waitress started cleaning the floor with a dust broom & banged around us for half an our, at 8.30pm,& we were still eating our dinner. Was noisy, dusty & annoying as we couldn't hear each other's conversation. Spoiled our romantic Birthday dinner . Try somewhere else next time. $200 dinner spoiled night, not a nice atmosphere here.

I've been a few times at different times of day and evening and have loved it each time. It's a great seafood restaurant right on the waters edge. The food is fantastic, some of the best and freshest seafood i've ever eaten . They take great care in the quality of food they offer as each time i've been it's consistant. everything was delicious. The oysters are by far my favorite, freshly shucked, with beautiful presentation. One day we ordered 3 dozen, served a few different ways between 6 of us to start and a number of different mains which were spectacularly divine also. It can be busy depending on when you visit but it's worth the wait. some evenings they have had live entertainment which was great fun and my friends always want to go back when they visit. A fanastic location for any meal. Right on the water at The Entrance in front if The Entrance Hotel. Enjoy Big bacon and egg rolls for only $6.50 or a great lunch/dineet. I come here regularly from Sydney after trying numerous restraunts amd takeaways in the area. Big breakfast is also a winner and the octopus is devine. Their coffee is sensational, they use Spinner Expresso which i have not had anywhere else but it is up there with Toby Estate and some of the best coffee’s i’ve tasted. Enjoy meals inside looking out at the spectacular view through floor to ceiling windows or sit on the deck unobstructed. Bring your dog and sit in the deck! Service and some conversation provided by staff and management who all excel in their rolls of customer service. Christine is always happy to hear feedback to keep abreast of any issues customers have. Hard to find good food and good staff at the same place.Chefs do their job behind the scene and do it well. Heaps of parking around and take tine for a stroll on the foreshore before or after a meal. This bright and open restaraunt has pleasant up to date decor and seats about 50 people. Hours are 8am-9pm Now and then they put on a show with great entertainment. March 30 2018 is a tribute show to Johnny O’Keefe, Buddy Holly, etc... Hope you enjoy your experience! I admire what they are doing at the waters edge, knowing that the population of the Central Coast will only just support a serious restaurant. The Staff are excellent particularly the Maitre D'. Last night,only about 18 diners and Seafood is not hard to cook. Kitchen service was slow,probably because the kitchen is too small and will not accommodate more than one chef.Preparation is everything. I enjoyed the food,as I had no high expectations, and I will go there again.Maybe Lunch next time. 6.30 arrival,7.45 entrees arrive,8'20 mains arrive ,One wrong order,quickly corrected and deducted. All in All,I would like to work through the Menu,Wild Barramundi next.
