Doughnuts are huge but awesome. The strawberry jam was delish! Jam inside was really good. Doughnuts were not oily at all. Choc doughnut was good for a non choc doughnut fan. Sausage roll was moist and delicious, just lacked severely in the tomato sauce department otherwise would have been 5 stars. Pretty busy at lunch time also. Wont be my last doughnut from here.

Corner shop tucked away in Stepney. It has many varieties of cakes and pastries at affordable prices. The blueberry cheesecake was the best. Double chocolate cheesecake was rich and sweet and has a soft texture. Mini tarts were yummy, but the tart could be crispier. Portuguese tart is not authentic, looks more like a creme brulee and was also very sweet. Its not very eggy, more creamy.

the fruit scones with my coffee were spot on - yum. pity about the chicken pies, one small piece of chicken in each one. The chicken must have escaped., we wont be buying them again. Had trouble with the shop assistant understanding her because of the mask she was wearing, bloody annoying. We have been stopping there for many years and will go there again.

Hands down one of the finest, freshest & tastiest bakeries I've encountered in the land of Oz. Consistent with quality & range, friendly service & pleasant atmosphere. Also incredibly affordable when compared with similar stores in the S.A 'inner suburbia' area. Clear to see why they have a high rating & why their business is expanding. Best chunky steak pies and sausage rolls I've ever eaten! Please open a store in Brisbane!! Also... great value for money! Standard pricing for such great quality of steak... REAL STEAK! No cutting corners by filling the pie with corn flour and gravy like alot of bakeries do to enhance profit margins. . Be warned though, cause, once you try their sausage rolls no other one you try will ever come close! They also make fresh coffee and have a few glutenfree and vegetables options... not to forget an impressive selection of cakes and other yummy sweet treats to chose from.

This used to be the best bakery around. I don't know what happened but the quality and service has dropped significantly. I just ate a chicken pie with only 3 pieces of chicken in it. The cheesecake we got used to be excellent but now doesn't have any of the punch that would usually come from the cheese. We've noticed the quality drop for a little while now and just hoped it was one off occasions but it continues to disappoint. I get the impression they are trying to cut costs or something but I wish they would just raise their prices and keep the quality the same as it was. The service has also worsened, with the friendly neighbourhood bakery feel disappearing and now it feeling like you're an annoyance to the staff. I really want this place to succeed. It's been one of my favourite places for many years but it's becoming an experience that isn't enjoyable anymore. I don't know what has happened to cause these changes but I really hope they can get it back to what it was. As a customer that is usually there multiple times a week, I'll definitely be looking elsewhere for a little while.

St Peter's is the perfect balance between quaint and modern. The small fire place in the corner adds a lovely rustic flair that you don't quite get with a split system heater. With everything you'd expect from a bakery; a delicious range pies, decadent cakes that'll leave you salivating and the coffee is pretty good too. Though I personally LOVED their hot chocolate the most, it was smooth with a little spice to the flavour.

Great little spot, I noticed with their covid plan, people were lined up outside and not one single person knew whether they could enter or not with only about 4 people being inside the store when I hit the front of the line, I couldn't see any signs on any entrance or exit of store limits or advice from staff so I just walked in and placed an order. The food was great as usual and service was quick once I ordered but having a covid Marshall or some clear signage would be alot better as there was roughly 20 people outside in the rain when they didn't need to be. The bins were overfull too so the rubbish just fell on the ground for the birds to pick at which wasn't so good for the look. It was the dirtiest ive seen the outside table and parking area but I havnt visited for a month or two. Keep up the good work

Update: revisiting this review as this place us by far a stand out bakery in the eastern / north eastern area. Always love the food from here. Great value with pastries easily being of better quality than competing bakeries. Service is great and food is always super fresh. Cakes and sweet treats are great value for money and taste great. Coffee isn't the best, however much better than most bakeries out there. There's always a long, long line-up, and has been for the many years I've been eating here, but it moves fast and reminds you that the food is fresh and people are obviously enjoying it!

As far as bakeries go, it has a wide variety of options, their bread and pies and desserts are good. The coffee is nice enough but not top notch, and I found their sandwich/baguette fillings to be rather basic for what appears to be an upmarket bakery. Every time I've been there, there's a long line and the staff have been reasonable fast and polite despite the pressure of serving many customers.

When you place an order for cakes ahead of time they have messed up the order, not had it ready or not made note of the right products. This has happened to both me and my family. I suggest making sure the staff out the order in the diary and call before you arrive to pick up your order. The products they bake are lovely and are well received when taken to dinners or parties but this lack of service is poor.

Their chunky meat pies are jammed packed unlike the oppositions who are punching out thousands of mince pies a day. Best carrot cake ever. Just love it so much. I live in Marden, just really wanna have Swiss roll. I search it on google, and find this bakery is 2km away from me. I took my dog with me, and found a beautiful dog off leash park close to it. He had great time, then I went the store, there is no Swiss roll left. I bought a carrot cake, it is absolutely yummy. This place is pretty much an institution in the eastern suburbs. The food is absolutely beautiful. The pies actually have meat in them which is almost unheard of these days. The deserts are a delight and the sandwiches and rolls are the freshest and tastiest around. Finding a park or a table during busy periods might be a little tricky. The staff are friendly. St. Peters Bakehouse is highly recommended.

Great bakery. Very popular wth locals and afar. Nice to sit outside and watch the world go by. Various Pies, pasties,sausage rolls, quiches etc. Also, yummy rolls, wraps, sandwiches, croissants. They come pre prepared if on the run or your choice made on the spot. Museli and fruits and salad bowls as well. Too many cakes to mention, but all yummy. The fam sized quiches and pies are always a hit for a quick dinner. Coffee is good with a buzzer system to collect when ready. Parking can be a bit hard sometimes, but much easier to park on opposite side of he road and walk across. Highly recommended.

Used to come here when worked in the area, but something has changed. Maybe it's the young blonde wh didn't know how to greet a customer with a smile, maybe it was the sausage roll which tasted pastie rather than sausage meat or to top not knowing which desserts have nuts in them! I give credit to the young guy who was happy to call the boss to find out which desserts have what nut could be in them. Suggestion; put a small note on the front of each dessert of the main ingredients, save customers having to ask as staff clearly we're unsure and I don't want to have a reaction of a "Not sure" response.

Hi there, Unfortunately when you buy chicken and mushroom pies, one expects chicken in the pie, not goop. When you buy vegetable pasties and find just 3 teaspoons of filling, you get a little disappointed. When you purchase lemon meringue tarts, you expect to taste lemon. When you purchase apple and custard tarts, you don't expect the apple to have been only par-cooked. Not impressed. Quite frankly, I'd have been better to go to Foodland and buy the equivalent or substitutes. Not worth the money by far.

It started with the missing Pavlova. We placed the order in Ridgehaven shop and that order got lost in the process. On the day of the birthday I walked in to collect the cake and no one knew what I'm talking about. This could have easily turned into disaster and few very disappointed customers. Ridgehaven staff member (young gentleman who was determined to fix a problem) was making phone calls and after he was unable to locate the order placed a phone call to manager Damien. Damien not only fixed the problem on the spot, he offered to go way out of his way to assist us. Challenge was sorted and what could have been a disaster for this small business turned into one of the best customer experiences I have witnessed lately. Kudos to the staff and the management, you understand what it takes to have happy customers.
