Comments of The German Cake Shop Family Restaurant
M. S.
As much as most places look German in Hanhdorf, this bakery is the first place we visited that felt German. We were hunting for a hot jam donut (aka Berliner) and another bakery said they didn't have any. When I first asked at The German Cake Shop the staff member said they usually only make them at the weekend (it was a Wednesday) but offered to make us some on the spot. So, not only did we get what we wanted, we got them as fresh as possible.

Looking for some traditional German food we found this Cake Shop which looked quaint from the exterior. Upon entering it certainly had a different appeal on the interior. Cluttered to the max with German homewares and antiquities. Clocks, plates, cups, spoons covering every space on every available wall. In saying that it was intriguing to look around and take it all in. We ordered a pretzel and a bratwurst just to blend in to the German feel. The food was delicious and as always with German food - heavy on the intake.
The service wasn't fantastic - a little blunt in approach bordering on a little uncomfortable.
R. F.
Decoration is beyond anything, you have to see!!
The cakes weren't bad either and some definitely German (more German than Otto's bakery).
N. H.
The bees ting cake was awesome, l love it, with ice long black, perfect 🥰
C. M.
Beesting and German apple cheese cakes were both freshly baked and delicious. Nice decor too.
C. H.
Lovely service, fantastic food, excellent variety and spectacular quality of cakes, best bee sting in the state! The decor was perfectly nostalgic and added to a wonderful atmosphere, you feel like you are being taken back to another time and place. Super friendly staff, was great being able to meet the chef and compliment her on the excellent food. Absolutely loved my experience and can't wait to go back again 🥰
I. F.
Tho overshadows by other newer and more visible establishment, this place still offers that authentic German goodies/cakes. The decor hasn't changed for a long time, which for some people considered old fashion but for us that's where the charm lies. Give it a go ! Vienna coffee & strudel are Yumm 😋
R. P.
Seems like a nice cute place.
All the sweets and food look great, I ordered only a pretzel as that's what I was looking for and it was nice but kind of small unfortunately. The gentleman serving was very friendly though 😊
Can't say too much more as I only had a pretzel 🥨
R. W.
The decor for the shop and customer service of staff was very good. The owner was friendly and helpful with our order, the only issue was the menu did not specify what times the breakfast menu ended each day. The cherry strudel and cakes were fantastic, I will definitely return.
K.
Have been coming here for years and normally get takeaway. Yesterday we had a sit down meal inside. Food was great, service was great and at a fair price too. They even allowed dogs in the main restaurant.
R. D.
Great place for lunch or just coffee and cake. Very reasonable prices and good quality food. Lovely staff too. You can't go to Hahndorf without trying at least one German cafe or bakery!
d. l.
Stopped in for a quick bite and a coffee on my way to Goolwa. I spotted some wonderful looking bienenstich which had my name on it, so I had to buy it 😊yummmm. The best I've ever had. And the coffee was great too. And to the gentleman behind the counter, you're A1. A real pleasure to talk to and to be served by. Thank you.
M. C.
Hidden off the side of the main road you will come across this establishment. The interior is full of character and cuckoo clocks. We ordered German sausage and a steak pie. Sausages were amazing in taste and the steak pie pastry crisp and crunch. We also ordered two chai latte with almond milk. WOW!! It was so good I ordered another for the road. Arrived just on opening and atmosphere was quiet without the hustle and bustle from the main road eatery's. Food arrived without any issues and staff very friendly.
N. N.
Cake and food was pretty nice but customer service could have been better. Was there with a friend and it was our first time. The lady serving my friend was not very friendly. They also forgot our bee sting cake. Lucky the bee sting cake was really nice and we still had a great time.
G. T.
Beesting cake very nice. Lots of trinkets and antiques, some for sale all around the cafe. Seems like it came out of the ‘70s - not necessarily a bad thing. Service lacking at the front counter. Coffee ok.
J. Q.
The beesting cake was delicious,
The salted pretzel is not worth getting and the service is average. However, the vibe and interior decor is lovely and unique
T. H.
Excellent place an Service an yummy cakes an milkshakes
J. M.
Really cool place! So many different artworks and clocks to look at while you wait for your food.
The cakes, brunch food, and drinks were all delicious - and there was lots more on the menu I’d like to try!
Lovely spacious indoor and outdoor seating, and the light on a sunny day is so nice.
I definitely recommend visiting - it’s a great spot with interesting connections to the German history of Hahndorf.
A.
Went for a light breakfast in the morning, apparently the lady wasn’t in a good mood to serve. Ordered coffee and Bienenstich, which were delicious. Also attracted by the antique decorations on the wall, a good spot for photos.
A. M.
Very original decoration with all the clocks. The food was OK. Why 3 stars? The service wasn't great. The guy at the front seemed dissatisfied by us asking to have tap water instead of bottled water. On top of that, he didn't bother bringing it to the table. So a quite mediocre service I would say. The desserts looked amazing although we just had savoury food
R. F.
The German sausage brekky was good. The place is beautifully decorated. The ambience inside is good. Service was great.
J.
The beef pie was alright. Beef goulash was really spicy, so make sure you can take spicy before ordering it! The pretzels were really good! Simple and good food, while the shop owner was really very friendly and spoke to everyone around
D. M.
Great service, friendly customer relations great atmosphere, music playing and the salmon & cream cheese sandwich / toasty is a favourite of mine now also the coffee has a great flavour and aroma, a must try in my books.
J. H.
This place has nice decal interior with a lot of old fashioned China and a lot of old fashioned cuckoo clocks. The food that be ordered was at best average. We ordered the salmon quiche which was actually quite tasty but the salad was below average. We also ordered the 2 kransky serving which again the kranskys were nice but the vegetables were again below average and small in quantity. If you are not in patient please take the extra effort to walk down the street as there is a large variety of restaurants in cafes where the food would be more of satisfaction. That's the mistake I made because at times I become too impatient.
l. d.
Full of vintage clocks. Old style decoration. Best 🥨. I bought 8 pretzels, crazy? No
Have a good snap there today , thanks boss.
D. M.
The bee sting (bienenstich) is the redeemer at this bakery. It’s worth taking a stroll up the Main Street of Hahndorf as there are better offerings nearby
D. K.
A truly authentic German Cafe with a lovely atmosphere & great coffee. Their Beesting Cake is definitely worth trying! Very welcoming & friendly owner's- Thank you. Let's hope the kangaroo found his way home & doesn't return!
B. T.
Nice food, must try the SPICY beef goulash and Pretzels. Authentic German sausages served with salad and sauerkraut unlike the larger restaurant by the main road which serve it with fries. Great German atmosphere with decor filled with all kinds of German clocks (yes, includes cuckoo clocks) and mugs collection. Very friendly service and we were lucky to be served by a very cute 5 year old Sarah with a rainbow locket. Thank you Sarah, photo enclosed as promised.
A.
Bienenstich Kuchen perfect with a taste that has been maintained for decades. Delicious!
L. F.
Quirky and well worth a look. Really nice strudel. Coffee could be nicer but still pretty decent. Customer service is cheerful and engaging. I would highly recommend!
J. M.
Great staff. Food ok. Would of expected better for a cake shop. Donuts were dry.
M. J.
i went to german cake shop and had a beautiful experience, interior is so good and well maintained
The person who took our orders was so friendly
bee sting was delicious and authentic
really recommend everyone to visit
it is in must view category for hahndorf
L. F.
Great food, German and Aust. Great choices of German beer such as the excellent Erdinger. Friendly staff and great service
D. S.
What a place, such a great range of meals for a bakery, had everything from burgers to soup and schnitzel as well as your usual sweet and savory pastry's of course. The pastries come in both German and Italian styles including a very nice Cherry strudel that you really must try. The staff are super helpful and quite the comedians, so prepare for a laugh.
R.
Had some takeaway pretzels from here, really yummy.
R. F.
Good food for eating in and take away.
Delicious cakes.
Reasonably priced meals.
C. G.
What a treat, fabulous collection of clocks & other memorabilia, to top it off, all your favourite German foods, will be back
C. G.
We went in as 2 families with kids and ordered food and drinks, which I must say was great.
However the general feeling we got was not so welcoming by the owner as he was more concerned that one of us would break one of his precious cuckoo clocks even though no one was touching them.
This is the problem with most shops in Hahndorf. Customer service is not something they master.
For a customer to feel that they can come in a second time, they need to feel welcomed first and secondly know that service/goods offered are value for money.
If either one is missing, return customers will not be there. I hope that improves in general in Hahndorf.
L. P.
Great coffee and BeeSting cake, as always, my favourite stop on the way to anywhere.
H. A.
What’s in a name. When you have an expectation of a lovely German strudel based on the name of the cafe, An Apple Strudel with a simple dough that bakes up into a flaky buttery crust and a juicy, spiced apple filling studded with rum-soaked raisins and finely chopped almonds and you are served up a strudel that is based on the ingredients of a donut, it’s a little disappointing.
I would have to say the food at this cafe is ok. There is a lot to look at in the cafe and it is worth a look, nice seating area & fair pricing, but if you are looking for a cafe where there is obviously a heritage, experience in cooking and delivering German food, then you might be a little disappointed.
My rating is based on the overall experience, had I based it solely on the Strudel it would have been lower.
N. H.
To say that the German Cake Shop has "character" is an understatement. Beautiful baked products in a lusciously-decorated dining space, with a real sense of history.
E. A.
Feels like in Germany. My cake was awesome!..Friendly owner, nice location under a big three.
P. P.
Pies were average, reheated in a oven. Bee-sting was good.
M. T.
Great food interesting decor.oved their Ice Coffee
G. F.
A must visit on any trip to Hahndorf for a taste of Germany. Friendly and efficient staff.
R. H.
Enjoyed the chicken schnitzel today.
The coffee was nice and hot but the thing that most impressed us about this lovely bakery cafe is that it is pet friendly.
Thank you very much for a lovely lunch
M.
Good mood
Good furnitures
Delicious cake
Delicious coffee
Nice services
I strongly recommend to go there . You can relax. Also, can get a wonderful mood.
S. k.
Friendly place but the food was average for the price. Small servings...
M. D.
Clocks, beerstiens and the best Apple Pie ever.
F. R.
Julio Iglesias background music, walls full of clocks, great service, lovely Bienenstich cake and nice coffee....it was like being back in a cozy little coffee shop in a German village.
m. f.
Excellent food and a great place to sit and watch the world go by in Handorf!!
W. B.
Coffee, Cakes & Clocks, what a great selection. Plenty of dog friendly seating outside.
T. Y.
It was awsome fast service friendly staff awsome food
R. C.
A great cheese and tomato toastie and very good coffee.
R. H.
The beesting is amazing, everything else I've tried has been pretty good too
L. B.
I've been coming here for years and every time it's fantastic service and delicious food. In today's visit my daughter accidentally broke a small dish. We offered to pay for it. Even tried to hand over $5 and the owner said not to worry about it. Amazing customer service!
T. E.
Friendly service but strudels were heavy on sticky filling, light on pastry. Balance wasn't quite there for us and coffee was fairly average. Faded charm of a small business that's been going a long time.
D. C.
Big selection of baked goods, very fresh, worth a stop and look.
D. A.
Nice food. The Bienenstich was lovely.
G.
Great food, staff and service. I've been here many times through the years and will continue to come back for the friendly service and amazing food. Feedback is always listened to and the owners and staff are great. Awesome atmosphere also.
N. J.
Great selection of lovely cakes and pastries to select from
R. K.
This place went through a period where quality dropped markedly (imo) a couple years ago, but I'm glad to say it's very good again. There aren't many bakeries out there offering pure mushroom pies either, so an extra bonus for those who like a little less meat in their diet. The star of the show was the bienenstich of course, which is as good as it ever was.
It might be serving the tourist trade, but in a town full of expensive, exploitative tourist traps, this place is still worth a visit, even for locals.
R. “. L.
Thoroughly enjoyed. Great host and food. If you love your clocks I would make this place visit. There is a great collection of stuff here.
E. B.
Beautiful cake shop with all the beautiful apple strudels .
A. H.
One is spoilt for choice in the German cake shop. We had entered the bakery with the intention of getting one dessert and ended up buying 3 desserts and a savory dish!
Their beinenstich cake is definitely the highlight of our dessert binge. It is delicious and a must have. I love a rightly spiced plum cake and their linzer cake was a total delight. It had the right amount of cinnamon and nutmeg to make any cake lover drool.
Their chocolate eclair was superb and their chicken & veg pie was tasty! Add the interesting conversation with their chatty manager to the combo and your day is well and truly made!
N. S.
Good, friendly and quick service. Great hotdogs and absolutely loved the hot and spicy Goulash! Don't forget to try the Beesting cake
H. W.
Cute atmosphere for a cafe featuring plates and clocks from around Germany.
S. L.
The coffee tasted burnt and milk was too hot, took forever to drink. Our coffees, for a sit in not take away, came in a take away cups. To the shop:
Use local milk!
Smile when serving.
Get a Barista!
T. M.
Excellent spot. Great German influences in the food.
J. C.
Coffee was good, cakes were fantastic. Atmosphere was interesting as was the variety of objects on the walls. Obviously very German but done well.
I would recommend this place for quick breaks and imagine it could be even better for longer breaks too.
L. R.
Great strudel but the coffee is ho hum
江.
So yummmm 😋
C. C.
Yummy desserts, nice big variety.
a. B.
Went there just for coffe and pretzel.
O. R.
The best strudel in town! The punchline that the reality lived up to. Recommended by a local lady from information center, the shop pleased us with the range and the taste of the treats they serve. Haven't tried their lunch offer but the desserts are absolutely amazing. The interior decor makes the place look and feel really authentic and welcoming.
W. B.
Fascinating place to enjoy lunch, so much memorabilia.. enjoyed some German Lemonade...
T. S.
Food not too bad however very strange pricing structure where you pay considerably more to eat inside at a table instead of "take away". A chicken schnitzel meal costs $15 take away but $20 inside. When queried on the practice I was told washing plates and other "handling" meant it cost more. When asked about the cost of providing take away containers verses washing plates I was given the justification that "everybody in Hahndorf does it!"
Do they? Not exactly the most friendly service.
B. C.
So far one of the best meals I’ve had in the bridge, dinner wise. Addicted to the mint hot chocolates an I can’t get them anywhere else.
The only flaw they have is the hours, open a hour too late for the working world, most people are at work by 7:30 am & me finishing nightshift at 7am makes for a patient wait till they open @ 8. I’d like to say they close to early but most delis An businesses like that close at 5 so 🤷♂️.
M. B.
Lived in the Adelaide Hills for years and haven't been here until today. I ordered a chicken, vege pie, hubby a plain beef pie and my daughter ordered the hotdog and chips. Everything was amazing, the pastry was melt in your mouth good, best pie I've ever eaten, will definitely be back.Hubby and daughter loved their lunch too, grabbed some beestings to take home, also amazing.
I. P.
Average cake and coffee, nice atmosphere with lots of antiques including clocks, plates and shrubs of all sizes and styles.
A.
Super tasty bee-sting, love the buttercream and the coconut-ty top layer. Apple strudel is very good as well, flaky pastry and really traditional filling. Generous side of fresh cream that comes with it too. Sooo, so good. Service is friendly and the inside is like a museum! Cuckoo clocks all around and vintage/ preloved items adorning the wall. My friend and I have already decided to make this place a monthly ritual!
E. L. Y.
Came across this cute cake shop while we were taking a stroll in the German Settlement. We were attracted with the vintage look. The indoor setting is so cute and pleasant to just sit inside and admire all the decorations. The Cherry Custard Struel was a recommendation from the staff, it was amazing!! It came with a side of cream made of some type of honey taste. It's absolute to die for!
G.
Cakes and breads are very yummy, price is so-so coffees, tea's, iced chocolates and hot chocolates are also nice. If you have time order a sausage plate with various german sausages, dill pickle, mustard seed relish and extra sauerkraut. Situated in Hahndorf parking is sometimes difficult to find. Staff is very friendly and eager to please. Food portions are ample. Also inside restuarant are many clocks and beer steins. Recommendation: go and eat and enjoy good food and good service and hospitality. Rating: 8/10
S. C.
Sweeeetttt goodness. Eat EVERYTHING
K. G.
The staff were a bit gruff and didn't feel very welcome so went with some takeaway rather than stay for breakfast. Cakes were nice, a bit dry (maybe from day before?)
L. K.
We have been regulars here for years, no decades. The German Cake Shop is our go to place when we visit Hahndorf. Love the friendly service and good German food. Also, the clocks, paintings and other German decorations are fascinating to look at.
A. H.
Do you have pretzels i ask, as i walk under the giant pretzel over the door and past every sign with a pretzel right at the top. Not only did the bloke not call me a moron, but made three delicious pretzels for me and the kids, fresh and hot. Delicious!
D. H.
My wife said it's the best restaurant burger she's ever had and my dish was simply delicious. It was packed today and the food still came out quick. Friendly staff, well priced meals and fantastic quality... haven't even started on the cakes yet...
W. O.
Very nice and good breakfast
A. M.
Delicious beesting cake and cherry danish. Coffee is alright. Atmosphere is cute and homely.
K. H.
Yummy German food. Great selection. Make sure you get there early as they often sell out fast. Close walking distance to most of the shops on the main road, just tucked away of the main road. Not too be missed
R. A.
Marvelous sweets and cookies and cakes
Very special environment with antique stuff like museum
Reasonable price and good quality coffee and food
W. P.
Always come here for cakes, the man was so friendly and chatty, but the lady wasn't in the mood .....inpatient and unfriendly " eight dollars...eight dolars" I heard you just need to take my money out 🙄
A. J.
It had a very good ambience, food was delicious but thick-shake was not upto the mark.
A. H.
Walking around Hahndorf I was seeking something easy to eat while I continued my walk, so I ventured in and found a great range of Haus Made bakery items.
The pepper pie had great pepper flavor with real pieces of real beef that has been slowly braised.
After I consumed the pie I ventured back for a custard danish which was very good.
I would return for more, thank you.
R. H.
Lovely atmosphere and great service.
L. M.
Not so fresh vanilla square and custard tart
S. F.
The service, coffee and the croisant was terrific. The ambiance of the place was delightful. So much history in the pariphanialia. I loved it.
C. C.
We have come to this place a few times. They make a really nice beesting and the service is fantastic too.
P. T.
Great food. The bratwurst was delicious, the Vienna sausage was good, the bread rolls were fresh and delicious.
If you're in Hahndorf and are looking for good German food, definitely stop here for lunch.
S. M. Y.
Eclectic restarant, full of clocks, barometers, plates, beer mugs, etc.
The Bienenstich (Beestring) has an interesting texture, bready with a crusty top - the taste grows on you after a few bites.
Black forest cake had too many sour cherries for my liking, not my favourite.
N. S.
Great cakes! Good coffee! Weird decor but still cosy.
s. p.
We had a lovely lunch, reasonable prices.
A.
Nice pastries and a simple menu. Rich drinks and good coffee. The decor was nice and was made up from all sorts of bits and pieces (Antiques, Clocks, Photographs and Paintings). Thanks
a. z.
Extravagantly lovely! Cosy, warm. Very welcoming atmosphere. Not to mention their delicious and scrumptious cakes and pies. Goodness gracious, how inviting!!
F. M.
After walking around Hahndorf, we stopped in for some drinks and cake. We had a fantastic Black Forest Cake, a Bienenstich (Beesting) and a pretzel. There was plenty of talk of going back in and getting more!
K. J.
Great strudel large variety great eating areas in and outside food great service to tables also take away
A. L.
Wow, the strudel was fantastic 👌👌👌
S. H.
Such a cute and quirky place to have a delicious coffee and chocolate doughnut 😋
C. H.
Best bakery in SA. Most of the bakeries in Adelaide are below par. Mass produced products delivered from a central bakery. They're ok, but nothing's as good as fresh and baked on premises.
The sausage roll is def the best in SA. As per The Roll Review. German cakes are good also, particularly the bee-sting.
B. M.
Love this shop. We bought a Bees Sting of course just like everyone else in the shop. Tried this cake in other states but none came any where near as good as this shop. Will be back for sure.
T. M.
Nice old school place in a very touristy town.
Y. I.
Quaint bakery in Hahndorf. Beautiful German cakes in a lovely setting. I recommend the Vienna coffee. Good service great food and a wonderful location.
M. J.
Visited in early childhood. Hasn't changed. Great food
A. Y.
Being served by an arrogant lady! This shop has so much potential showcasing the German collection, only if they focus on better services.
C. K.
Food was tasty. Had a few gluten free options sweet and savoury. Decor quite historic and clocks that chime.
G. J.
Not only is the bee sting something to behold,,,,but old mate gives away great life advice as well,,love the place.
A. J.
Food is hit and miss, mainly hit. The service is good, and unlike many shops on the strip good value for money.
T. H.
Never had a bad piece of cake from here. Proper German bienenstich
S. S.
Excellent service, great food, always coming back here on our visits to Hahndorf.
R. D.
Love their rustic as and bienenstich! (spelling?) good coffee...
B.
I can highly recommend the mushroom vegetarian pies... Amazing rich thick dark gravy with a taste of home picked field mushrooms!
M. L.
The cherry custard strudel was very nice and big. Very rich. My husband and I shared one and it was more than enough.
B. S.
Yummy cakes and nice coffee also very friendly Service, love going there x
H. M.
Beautiful food as always gorgeous man behind the counter always friendly great service. Take ladies from my retirement village there and overseas guests. XX
L. H.
I hadn't been to this bakery in years but had fond memories of being served by the German female staff back then but then times change, ownership changes I guess, it just wasn't as good as in my memories.
R. M.
I don't know about the food, I don't know about the service... But everything gets a 5 star rating because German towns are cool, especially when you spent 4000km driving though the desert!
P. F.
The coffee ☕ was excellent and the food was exceptional well done on all accounts service was with a smile
S. R.
Go here everytume we are in Hahndorf for Coffee and Cake
J. J.
The atmosphere felt dull. It was dark and uncomfortable feeling. The products looked homemade professional but display didn't seem important. Walked out disheartened with the atmosphere.
D. E.
Phenomenal Pastries and Cakes and Breads and Antiques, more than a cake shop!
D.
Amazing food and really good service. Great looking restaurant with an atmosphere antique lovers will enjoy. Definitely going back.
n.
Just ok
R. N.
Best of food in fantastically laid our surroundings.
H. W.
Beesting cake was fine, but also not the best I have ever had.
P. W.
Very nice place with a lot of antiques just lacks that happy customer service today but was a nice place to have breakfest
L. G.
The cakes on display tends to have a best varieties. The new full desserts are really lovely too.
e. L.
I love thier bea-sting cake. Delicious🍰🥞
M. s.
Love their pasties 🥰
T. S.
Good coffee, excellent strudel. The staff were friendly. Happy to have stopped here, will be back.
H. L.
I have been coming here since I was a little girl. I still love their Bienenstich. The staff always show great service.
H. I.
So many memories returned visiting here. Yummy cakes, we took some home. Coffee was OK. Would take away if I return
M. W.
Great if you're in Hahndorf and looking for something lighter than a massive schnitty at one of the pubs. Great cakes and a quirky restaurant that's full of clocks.
S. F. (.
Coffee is real good. The scones could be a bit more sconey. Nice clock and German memorabilia collection.
S. G.
One has to rate a place on a combination of all the components. Great food, good drinks, seriously grumpy staff. I will still go back though
J. F.
Amazing food and friendly atmosphere. Excellent value for money
J. F.
Excellent quality and quantity of German meals. German pretzels are amazing. Taste exactly like doughnuts.
T.
Friendly staff. The owner even came out of his shop where we were sitting outside, to ask us if everything was okay. Food was fantastic!
A. S.
very quirky inside with all the old museum clocks and other bric-a-brac. pastries were great and service very friendly.
F. I.
Food was decent. Service could've been a lot better
D. P.
Beautiful bee-stings! Lots of antiques in store to browse... Recommend a visit.
R.
Fantastic place, not only great cakes but the pies are some of the best I've had... (And I've had a few😂)
I. S.
One off my favourite stop in Hanhdorf cakes and coffee to die for
S. P.
Food was good but the service was unfriendly and a bit rude
D. C.
Excellent great food and hospitality we visit the German cake shop every time we are in Hahndorf very authentic German cuisine from the lueckenhausen family
M. C.
Best cake shop in Hahndorf, hands down, no other can compare
J. B.
The Staff were friendly and the food was great. Would go back again.
t. b.
Very beautiful authenticly decorated. amazing apple strudel and pretzels. Hot tea and lovely service
M. H.
Very busy
L. S.
The best coffee, Black Forest cake and German hamburger. Quaint German style interior. Nice and warm inside.
D. S.
Ordered chicken pie and chicken sandwich, affordable price, taste fine, nice interior design, went in a rainy day, enjoyed the atmosphere.
N. P.
Lots of options. Pretty authentic. Charged 2$ for heating the cake. Cake was super delicious !!
L. K.
Very authentic and helpful staff. The pretzels are as close to German ones as they come. Cakes, cakes and cakes.
M. O.
