I ordered the chocolate espresso cake and it was lovely. It is not sweet plus it’s gluten free, just the right amount of bitterness from espresso and richness from the chocolate and almonds. Will definitely be back and try the other sweets. I have my go to bake shop now😌

caked it up at @cakeandbake.co 🥰🤤🥳the cuuuutest lil dessert shop in Newstead~ situated along a main road is Cake & Bake! 💕🍰✨ we got their chocolate cupcake covered in white chocolate ganache, turkish delight, meringue and pistachios, their red velvet cupcake and their double chocolate and raisin brownie~ ✨🍰🍫🧁✨ -♥️red velvet, pretty nice! but was lacking chocolate in our opinion, a nice pretty cupcake but nothing spectacular~ ($5.9) -🤍chocolate cupcake covered in white chocolate ganache, turkish delight, meringue and pistachios, i looooveedd this cupcake!! firstly how pretty is she?!🥺🤧 secondly, i hate intense chocolate cakes, and this had little to no taste of chocolate, which was perfect for me🤣🤣others will want actual chocolate taste in their chocolate cake but for me this was perfect ahaha! white chocolate ganache was beautiful! Turkish delight was super yummy!🤩($5.9) -🍫double chocolate with raisins brownie, i didn’t eat much of this one as i don’t like intense flavour of chocolate but my bestie said it was pretty nice except the raisins were a odd touch, we actually didn’t see that there were raisins in it so🤭🤣but overall nice! ($6) girl at the counter was super lovely and welcoming~ a really cute store in Newstead! they also sell bigger logs of cakes, tarts and jars of jam! ✨🤍 we were a bit disappointed by the small variety of desserts on display but since they are a small store it was alright~ love their colour theme and aesthetic!!🥰🤩💕

Not too sweet, moist and filled with chunks of walnuts. 🥰 The chocolate sour creame cake was also good but the carrot cake takes the crown for me.

Best Carrot Cake in Brisbane. So fresh and delicious and the toffee shard decoration on top of the cake is the perfect touch. Cake & Bake also make the most amazing Quiche Lorraine, Red Velvet Lamingtons, Melting Moments, Chocolate Sour Cream cake and Lemond Curd Tarts to name a few of my favourites. I love that Jocelyn supports small local brands & local farmers in her shop with her supply of delicious cheeses, chocolate and diary products. Highly recommend Cake & Bake.

The team at Cake & Bake are life savers! I rang a lot of cake shops asking them if they can make a last minute order for my mum’s 50th birthday and all of them require 24-hour notice. I was about to give up but decided to walk-in Cake & Bake on the day of my mum’s birthday and to my surprise they catered my order with less than 10 hours notice! I put my order down at around 8am and got to pick it up at lunch time. They went over and beyond my expectations and made the cake very pretty! You guys did a wonderful job and without your great effort, my mum’s 50th wouldn’t be perfect ❤️ that is one memorable cake, couldn’t recommend enough 💕

Cake & Bake is a lovely bakery with the most delicious cakes. Even their savoury items are wonderfully tasty. I tried the Mini Berry Tart, Seasonal Fruit Friand (Blueberry), Tahini and Halva Brownie, Mini Caramel Tart, Blonde Brownie, Berry Sponge Bar Cake. I can honestly say, they were all amazing. I also had the slow-cooked chicken puff, I could have had 2! It was so full of flavour. I can't wait to go back and try more.

I ordered a red velvet cake for a birthday dinner. The website clear regarding prices and sizes and ordering over the phone was easy. The cake was beautiful and was also delicious! It was moist and rich but not sickly sweet. The birthday girl loved it! I will definitely come back next time for another cake!

The first time I visited the store I bought a Nutella Bar Cake and it was THE MOST DELICIOUS CAKE I had ever eaten. I called the store straight after I’d finished eating it and told them how amazing it was! On my second trip I met the owner, Jocelyn. She is so lovely! Absolutely amazing Chocolate Sour Cream Cake. Looked amazing, tasted sweet but not too crazy and the meringues on top added a nice texture. Definitely one of the best cakes I have tasted and will be coming back. Their Almond Croissants are stupidly good!

Jocelyn made us the most beautiful carrot cake for a birthday lunch. Priced very reasonably for a perfect sized cake, we were able to serve generous portions. The cake looked stunning and was so delicious.

Jocelyn and her team are amazing, and the cake I had from there delicious and worth every penny. We had a snafu with the pick up and Jocelyn went above and beyond, meeting me there after hours to open the shop and get my cake to me. Highly highly recommend!

Cute and functional bakeshop in the West End - had lots of sweets as well as savory treats. Doesn't appear to be fit out as a cafe, but it makes sense as I think they do a lot of catering work...? I'm currently on a quest to find the best caramel slice (aka Millionaire's Shortbread for you UK folk) in Queensland. Not actually called caramel slice at this shop (it's "caramel brownie"), but still quite good. Chocolate was more frosting than solid but didn't prevent me from gobbling it up before I got a chance to take a photo. A little expensive ($6.50 AUD) but I'm also still getting use to food prices here.

Well, here is a diamond for you. We ordered a hazelnut chocolate cake for a birthday and were delighted to get a fabulous cake. So delicious and decadent. The little shop had many other delights in it, such as glass jars of rhubarb, rose and berries, which the lady who works there suggested we put with a slice of the cake. Heaven. Also there are quiches, and darling small cakes, friands, meringues and other delights. Highly recommended.

Ordered cake over the phone and was able to make payment on the phone. They open early at 7:30am so that's helpful if you are busy at work during the day. Staff were nice and the red velvery cupcake was soft and fluffy. Really great little cake and coffee store.
