Comments of Beechworth Bakery Beechworth

Finally ticked off a bucket list item. It lives up to expectations! The sound of the buzzers can take away from the atmosphere a little, but it means that you are served quickly and efficiently in this high traffic bakery. Fantastic food and coffee in a beautiful old building.
J. C.
Bleechworth bakery feels like an historical landmark. Interesting indoor setup. Friendly staff. Bread last much longer than expected. A good place to stop if allowing a small detour on your road trip.
B. H.
One of the best bakery.
Specially this branch.
I tried Pie this time and it was perfect.
Everything is fresh.
Highly recommended.

How can you go to Beechworth and not stop at the OG Beechworth Bakery?! 100% worth a stop every single time, no matter how many times you visit this beautiful little town!
We love to dine in (always busy – but two levels of seating help accommodate for this) and we always order a Plain Beef Pie and a Beesting each, every time we visit! Absolutely delicious – can do no wrong and is perfect every single time!
The staff are always under the pump but are always so friendly! I’m not a parent but I’m aware that there are always kids dining in at the restaurant and highchairs are there for use.
Highly recommend taking the time to stop at Beechworth Bakery! ❤️

A must stop if you are ever down this way. Such a pretty store with dine in or takeaway with inside and outside tables. The range of gorgeous pastries, cakes and sandwiches is huge and they all looked delicious. We grabbed some takeaway gourmet pies for dinner this evening. Butter chicken and Pork bourbon and their famous vanilla slices for dessert. … if they last that long. The staff are friendly and helpful a great lunch spot.
F. P.
Only here to buy the beesting cakes.
Service was great, very friendly. The place is spacious and they have seatings outside the store.
H. U.
Lovely pies, pastries. Sweet and savoury options. A range of vegetarian options but often run out early. Bottomless tea if you dine in and ask for it. Staff are nice. Cleaning between customers and cleaning of communal areas (tea station) is good.
J. H.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful selection of baked products.
G. B.
Best bakery in Beechworth, best bakery in Victoria......you know where I'm going.....best bakery in Australia
Has to be on your bucket list
S. M.
No vanilla slice, no worries! A bee sting or cream donut washed down with really nice coffee is the go! Really lovely staff to, very happy with the service! We will be back!
C. B.
Was here last time in November. Popular bakery with a wide range of products. Good Service. The place can be busy at times depending on when one goes there (time of year). Well worth a visit.
D. S.
The vanilla slice and beesting taste delicious, coffee had good flavour.
Since returned and had pies, Ned Kelly and Country Chicken and Beestings all were super tasty. Pies the perfect temperature. We took them up to balcony which has great views over Camp St. Service was excellent also. Highly recommended now a five star review.
A. M.
I would love to mention this young man JAKE !!! Very very kind and eager to serve even as we entered during last few minutes (inspite of grumpy lady working with him. Could have been a not so nice experience). JAKE was sweet, Proactive and suggested options to choose from. I truly wish him good luck and a bright future ahead. The pies don't need any review...they speak for themselves. Absolutely delicious. But the service truly matters. Worth visiting !!!
L. S. F.
We had a Ned Kellie pie, a butter chicken pie, ham & cheese toasties, doughnuts & an anatomocally correct octopud merengue. All excellent, highly recommended.
G. S.
Absolutely lovely bakery and staff.
Very pleasant to deal with.
Great pies especially the Ned Kelly pie.
Highly recommended

The sandwiches we bought we nice and fresh but the woman who served us needs a lesson in customer service. I asked for a particular sandwich on rye and the response was..."um, that would be wholemeal" I replied with..."no actually I'll have the rye" She then attempted to argue with me until I pointed to the Rye one that I wanted!!!!

Very busy bakery in the main street. Lovely outdoor dining upstairs on the balcony. Yummy cakes and awesome coffee, great service, welcoming staff.

Some bakeries are good, some just use the name and only sell old stale food.
This one is excellent, there is variety in food and what we had today was tasty and filling.
Staff were friendly and welcoming.
This is a bakery not a restaurant or a pub, so set your expectations as such.

Pie and a beesting never fails.
My wife said her sausage roll was substandard - less meat and more filler, slightly pasty, and too much pepper.
Full points for myself, ill take a star off due to my wife's experience.
H. H.
Fabulous selection of cakes, bread, pies and other food. The beesting cakes are exceptional and the sourdough bread was delicious. Friendly and helpful service too.
D. T.
Stopped here for a quick breakfast. This is a very large bakery with a huge selection of tasty morsels. I settled for a Ham & Cheese Croissant while my partner just had some Raisin toast and a Cappuccino. The raisin toast was said to excellent being full of fruit and as the loaf was made by the bakery you could buy a whole loaf to take home. Very friendly staff that appear to enjoy dealing with customers.
M. Z. L.
Their beesting cake is to die for! I bought a big one to share on my birthday. It was gone in seconds. The bread is sweet and there is a generous amount of custard. There are toasted almonds with icing sugar on top. If you're in the beechworth area make sure you pay this bakery a visit.
I.
I have fond memories of this bakery and was looking forward to the cooked breakfast here. Was very disappointed that they no longer do those, the prepared bacon/egg sandwich that I had was dry and looked better than it tasted and I left half of it on the plate. The coffee was okay. The bakery layout and the furnishings haven't changed in 15 years and it showed. It feels like an internal refit is needed. The cakes, pies etc still look great but not the dining experience I was expecting on this occasion.
R. G.
The biggest bakery! Everything we ordered was great. Beesting, pasty, pies and croissant. The quality was amazing and very friendly staff.
M. P.
Food was great but maybe I came too early. No pies or full range of cakes yet in the morning. I will update my rating next time I return (and try the rest of the food).
G. T.
Surperb...you just must stop in here. You are spolit for choice but oh gosh, the choices taste delicious. We were recommended to take the plunge by a passerby and so glad we did. Yummo!
We headed over to Bright the next day and found another Beechworth Bakery store, with all the same amazing treats - this time we tried the savoury pies - they too were delicious!
S.

Awesome, the best. Fast service, huge variety of food. The best pie in town.
S. B.
Love Beechworth Bakery. Had to have Beesting because I don't know when I will get back as we live in Melbourne. It was so busy we were lucky to get a seat.
M. M.
A must - if only for the Bee-stings. Easy walk or good parking - main street. Have a wander around then go to the Bakery for a coffee and cake. Friendly service.
C. F.
One of the places in Beechworth that everyone visits. It does get busy on weekends and with covid the numbers in the store are limited. The line is well arranged and moves fast.

Unlike many other reviews I found this an average experience. The egg and bacon toastie was dry with an overcooked flattened egg and bacon that was well short of crispy and juicy. The coffee was quite good.
g. s.
Must try the signature Neds Kelly pie and ice mocha or chocolate, signature Vienna or sourdough bread and very good coffee. Must coming back just for the pie. So far nothing compare, best for me so far.
M. J.
Had a nice pie and good coffee.Big range of savoury food and cakes 👍
S. B.
Love Beechworth Bakery. Had to have Beesting because I don't know when I will get back as we live in Melbourne. It was so busy we were lucky to get a seat.
D. F.
The hype doesn't match the product. Sausage rolls are nowhere near Nagambie bakery level, pies have a wierd floral taste??? Was a few years since last visit, won't be back.
M. M.
A must - if only for the Bee-stings. Easy walk or good parking - main street. Have a wander around then go to the Bakery for a coffee and cake. Friendly service.

The famous Beechworth Bakery, full of delicious cakes and pastries. Hard to choose between the vanilla slices, biscuits or the pies and sausage rolls. Another must stop when you are the area to fill the tummy or take home for later.
J. M.
Great selection of food made on sight. Always worth a visit, as provided many a fees for my family over the years.
R. A.
Yum! Recommend the ham and cheese croissant and the Bravarian Cream Ring - so delicious!
p. c.
Frothed the cheese and bacon pie + jelly slice. A good bakery with lots of options for fussy family members. No frills but good stuff.
M. S.
Friendly and helpful staff, large range of food choices whether you're after breakfast, lunch or just a sweet or savoury snack. Great coffee to top it all off
S. W.
Came here a few times during my stay in Beechworth. Was on my bucket list to eat at Beechworth Bakery in Beechworth. Excellent selection of deserts/pies and bread. Tried the Ned Kelly Pie and the famous Vanilla Slice - both delicious and not a let down. Only negative about this original bakery - the staff. Didn't seem too friendly towards customers, appeared to be disrupting them as customers.
S. C.
The service was really good. The bakery had a lot of new trainees and the training must be really good as they handled themselves during a busy time. As always the pies pastries and coffee is excellent.
C. T.
Great place to sit and eat. Good fresh food. Great coffee. Great friendly service
R. A.
Such a huge variety of delicious bakery treats, pies, breads etc that you won't be able to choose just one thing! We came back here a couple of times while visiting the area and enjoyed dine-in and take-away hot drinks and snacks. They have all the bakery classics from childhood. The line was out the door at one stage, but that gave us time to look and choose and was well worth the wait.
M. G.
The hot food from here was amazing. The Pepper Pie has that great peppery punch in every mouthful, the Potato pie was beautiful. The desserts are a little on the “only ok” side we had the face biscuits, French vanilla slice and normal vanilla slice and they weren’t a knockout flavour hit like the pies were. Was a little disappointed when we ordered take away coffees and we had to make our own Tea (after being given a takeaway cup and tea bag with a small stainless jug of milk). The staff were friendly and try and move the queue’s through quickly.
J.
Awesome, the best. Fast service, huge variety of food. The best pie in town.
R.
Some great varieties at this bakery. Must tries include the berries tarts, orange almond cake, cottage pie.
The only downside to this place is that it is crowded around the clock, and the queues/service is not well organised.
E. C.
Originally decided to stop here in particular for food because one child has peanut and legume allergy. She hadn't eaten anything from a bakery in over a year. Was very happy to read on website that the plain meat pie was safe for her. As are a few other items which we didn't try. She loved it so much that we went 3 times over 2 days. The other child took a liking to the iced donuts. We got there first time at 9am still quiet, but after 9.30 there's a line. It's still quick to be served though. Don't let that deter you.
J. D.
Awesome bakery with lot of Vegan and Vegetarian options. Freshly prepared upon order. Must try place with tasty food made with fresh ingredients
R. M.
Solid cornerstone of the Beachworth bakery franchise. Situated in the heart of the town, this quaint bakery offers all the things you would expect and want...and more.
k.
I wanted food but didnt line up. Hot day, middle of holidays, I will return. I've heard it's pretty good
T. S.
Beechworth Bakery have the best tasting and freshest food available. Always look forward to visiting.
P. N.
Very very busy place with lots of great eating choices. Worth visiting and stay on line on a weekend to buy dessert 🍮 coffee and bread 🥖.
C. J.
Delicious pies and cakes. Highly recommend the pies! Busy mostly when I've been but moves smoothly. Bit of a long wait on any sandwiches not already made.
B.
Steak Pie didn't live up to the hype but it was edible.
Staff were friendly.
R. C.
Jo was amazing, I rung with a very out of the way request and her customer service was inspiring. Thank you so much Jo!!! ♥
D. C.
Good service friendly haven't eaten the bread rolls yet
M. H.
Good yummy produce... Service was friendly but slow, but they were busy.
D. M.
The Ned Kelly pie is my favourite! Been coming here for many years and never disappointed.
B. U.
It's fine, renowned for its pies but I can't say they were anything special. Had the Ned Kelly which had a nice topping of cheese, bacon and a whole egg which made it ok. Pastry was ok but the filling really wasn't good. Full of gristle and rubbery bits of meat, not really pleasant. Gravy was a good consistency and added a little flavour. Overall, it was fine. The veggie pasties were ok too, though fairly middle of the road
T. C.
Amazing pies. Friendly staff. Well priced. A definite visit if in Beechworth.
G. L.
Nice pie, great coffee nice and hot none of this Luke warm stuff
D. K.
Good food at an affordable price. Nice to get tomato sauce included with a pie too!
F. C.
A great place in a beautiful historic town. This bakery certainly lives up to its reputation with many tasty savoury and sweet treats to choose from.
We had the snickerdoodle and a ham/cheese croissant which were both delicious.
Plenty of friendly staff to ensure you are promptly served. All in all a great place and definitely on my must-visit list whenever I am in the area. Good to know they have other branches outside of Beechworth as well!
M. D.
One of the best bakeries in the entirety of Australia, if you haven't been here before then you are definitely missing out on something special! My recommendations would be a Ned Kelly pie, as well a Bee Sting, but you can't go wrong with any purchase
E. B.
Nice place to eat and drink , plenty of space , upstairs and downstairs, always very busy which speaks for itself
R. J.
Huge selection for breakfast and lunch, some gluten free options. Can get busy but always super helpful
d. l.
This is my ultimate favourite bakery that I have ever been to. Their slogan says Australia's greatest bakery and I have to agree. The food selection is sensational. I've been coming here on and off for over thirty years whenever I'm in the area and i just can't say enough about this place. Definitely 5 stars.
N. K.
Lovely bakery in Yackandandah, shame but terribly slow barista meant our food was finished before coffees arrived , should have listened to the people waiting outside!
M. L.
An easy and tasty breakfast choice! Even just walking in and looking at those colourful cakes are good fun!
D. E.
No gluten free, friendly/helpful staff, good coffee.
G. S. G.
Lot of bakery options, savoury and sweet, shakes & coffees!
D. H.
The food is great and Beechworth is a great place to visit. A truly historic town.
R. L.
Best pie in town. Must try the original beef pie and gluten free pie. Bottomless coffee and tea
G. M.
No visit is completed without a visit here . Lovely views from the upstairs terrace seating area . The food is delicious but cafe style . It can get very busy on weekends and public holidays . The food is slightly more pricey than your traditional bakery but still reasonable. well worth a visit
D. F.
Probably the best bakery experience I've ever had. The staff, atmosphere and rustic charm to the place are as quality as the amazing food and coffee.
L. J. (.
Great selection of sweets and pastries. Great service and friendly staff.
C. P.
Amazing food good prices and friendly staff
T. M.
Food is amazing. Service is friendly
K. W.
Extra busy...to be expected though.
No Toilets or they were upstairs so closed..Boo
Ordered a steak pie and I got a pepper pie.
The Bee sting was amazing. Friends had a sausage roll, vanilla slice and chock cream bun and said it was all delicious.
J. D.
Came for a bee sting and wasn't disappointed! Was blown away by the huge range they had on offer. You have to expect to wait in line when coming here so don't complain about that. Great service, highly recommend.
D. P.
We've been twice now and both time the service has been great and for such a busy place, very speedy.
The Ned Kelly pie is 10/10 my favourite pie and wish they were available in Geelong!
The jelly slice was probably the beat I've ever had too.
To top it all off the coffee was on point too
R. F.
I’ve been here once a while back. Varity of fresh choices and they all looked yummy. Great service and friendly staff. Amazing location in the heart of the historic town. I recommend this bakery and if I’m in the area again I will defiantly visit.
N. H.
Stopped in here at least 6 times in the last few weeks and I’m just as excited to come back every single time. so many things to try and so far they’ve all been incredible. Yet to find something not to my liking on the menu. Coffee is ALWAYS amazing!
K. K.
The caulioccoli pie is the best pie I've ever had... although this time last year, it was the Ned Kelly. The sausage rolls are delicious, and don't even get me started on the coffee and desserts.
i. k.
Not much needs to be said. Legend talking for itself. Don't miss if you visiting Beechworth
S. G.
The coffee was so so but they do a mean baked good selection. The pepper steak pie went down a treat. Good place to stop for breakfast.
J. M.
A very popular place to grab a pie and light breakfast. Friendly service.
J. H.
Great coffee and beesting but picked up covid while in town stay safe
S. K.
Great Bakery with a great variety of cakes, biscuits, pastries, sandwiches, hot and cold beverages and lots of other foods.
Only let down is they don’t have thick shakes at this store.
S. A.
Always call in here when passing through over many years. Great prices, great food. Friendly staff. Each time I have ordered in bulk to take food home, it has always been ready to pick up when I arrive and packaged very well. The original is always the best, and the Beechorth bakery in Beechworth is the best compared their other outlets. Even when I stay in Bright or Albury, I would rather travel to Beechworth than use the Beechworth bakery that is now in Bright.
C.
Busy as usual and lots of cakes etc.Nice and cool inside in summer.
A. Z.
Woohoo an old fashioned bakery with delicious food and the best ever staff. Thanks guys.
M. Z.
Fantastic service, and incredible food. Wish we could have this at home!

*Review current as of June 2021*
Drinks:
Drinks are all well above average. Great coffees, mochas, hot chocolates, and chai lattes.
Food:
One of the largest ranges I've seen offered by a bakery. Pies, sausage rolls, Aussie Eccles, tarts, cakes, donuts, bread (including gluten free), and slices are all great.
Service:
I've always experienced great customer service here. I bought a keep cup once and it was faulty. I took it back expecting an exchange, however, I was given two new keep cups for no charge. Some of the newer employees are a little slow and shy, but great service overall.
Appeal:
I have been here on around 20-30 occasions and the greatest appeal is the consistency. I know that no matter what I order, I can expect it to be exactly as good as last time.
Summary:
Drinks = 8/10
Food = 8/10
Service = 8/10
Appeal = 9/10
J. D.
Always great service and yummy food😊
S. J.
They have amazing pies. If you are having trip trough Beechworth you should try these pies. Mushroom&steak is alway good. Country chicken also amazing especially when you had cold night camping. I hope they make chicken soup as same recipe 👍🏻
K. B.
Beestings are so yummy and a tasty chocolate milkshake too. Lots of staff so waiting time wasn't too bad.
All the other cakes looked amazing too. I wanted to try all of them, but stomach and purse wouldn't let me.
A. C.
Excellent food and excellent service! Thank you so much!
P. S.
Not a great variety of food. Pleasant customer service.
n.
Everything you can expect from an ultra-touristic bakery. Low quality ingredients, artificial flavours, high prices. Beechworth has much better options
P. K.
Good food, plenty of tables. Staff quite helpful. Reasonably priced. Excellent date scones and apple turnovers.
R. J.
Our fave stop for pies, sausages rolls and ham and salad rolls!!
J. D.
Always busy very popular, great food.
w. s.
Excellent bakery with good coffee and breaky menu
d. n.
Super fresh out of oven hot tasty breads like this bakery
C. R.
Touristy but fairly tasty too. Reasonably priced and filling. Our least favorite thing was the beesting pie, essentially just a giant cream puff.
s. m.
Still one of my favourite stops when i travel to this side of town
R. H.
Pleasant staff. Always nice food.
r. f.
Service is nice and food is well prepared.
Doesn't seem as fresh as it once was and price is getting a bit much but all in all, it's ok.
J. H.
Amazing. I went into this bakery and asked the lovely lady, "what pie do you recommend".
I was advised to try their award winning pie which was the Ned Kelly pie and my goodness, I was in heaven. Not only do they sell an extensive range of pies, they also sell beautiful cakes and coffee. Do your self a favour, make your way to beechworth, get yourself and family into this and go to town on the pies. You won't be disappointed.
L. B.
Had the country chicken, best pie I've ever had.
I. P.
Very good pie and apple turnover
T. B.
Must do for coffee and a sweet, yum.
R. M.
We love Beechworth bakery and have been for lunch last 2 days ...food was great as always, coffee was good but although younger staff were so polite, senior staff member was so abrupt on both days and had no customer service skills... 2 of our group left without making a selection because of the attitude and impatience of staff member. Spoiled our experience.
D. W.
Wonderful friendly service... the pies weren't too bad either, nice gravy, good amount of meat, though I thought the pastry was a little too thick and stodgy. I wasn't overly impressed with the sausage roll though. I don't know if it's "worth the drive", but judging by the huge crowds of customers, a lot of people do!
F. Y.
It will be so much better when they let customers in to sit down and enjoy what they have to offer. Covid sucks.
J. N.
Rating is based on mostly the food as this is the company's primary objective - serve food. It is subjective so please make your own judgement and DYOR.
Perhaps I'm not a pie fan but the expectation would then be to convince the customer they've been missing out on something amazing! Unfortunately my view was that the pie and flavour of the pie can be described as (take your pick) average, mediocre, hyped up, OK. But I'm not a pie connoisseur, just an average customer. We do return to Pie in the Sky as often as we can (even though it's really far), because we do actually love the pies they serve.
The other item included in this review is a sandwich. Again, flavour was not amazing, in fact was quite bland, but it's a sandwich after all. But I will say that the actual sourdough bread was really nice. Good consistency, texture and crust.
We got some doughnuts to go. I prefer the donuts near work much better - taste and texture wise. Again, my opinion only.
Customer service was patient and good, because of the COVID line patrons can only really view the menu and look at the food in the window once they reach the counter. We got lucky and scored a table. Appear to be self-service (i.e. wipe down your own table before and after). A buzzer was used to let us know when the order was ready.
Overall, in my opinion the hyped up craze this bakery has maybe both its saving grace and vice. Good to get the patrons in, but how many are loyal and retained? Food for thought!
J. K.
It isn't the greatest bakery in the region, but the breakfast and lunch options were good. The great staff almost lifted it to a 4 star, but the burnt base on the sausage roll made it a 3.
B. M.
Lovely baked goods, just a bit too popular at times, which can make for quite a crowd! But lovely rolls and sweets in particular!
H. R.
A famous bakery, and rightly so. The food is absolutely delicious! Unfortunately the best stuff isn’t always in stock, especially around lunchtime!
M. S.
Beautiful food and excellent service! It was quite busy but the lady that served us, who was a trainee, did a great job. Food was really fast, drinks followed soon afterward. We also bought a takeaway box for afternoon tea that was delicious! Yummy!
A. C.
Well managed during very stressful times, staff were awesome, the Beesting as usual was amazeballs...and the Beef and Black pepper pies very good...well done team!
S. R.
The salid roll i picked up was fresh and tasty
H. D.
Had thier hot home made minestrone soup and buttered roll today for brunch instead of a coffee. It was definitely worth the swap...delicious 😋 l still took home a French vanilla slice and a German donut for later on. It's the best bakery ever!
J. B.
Amazing place great service and beautiful food
P. M.
Coffee was ordinary. Haven't had my donut yet
T. K.
Great selection of bakery goods however the coffee needs some TLC and I would love for them to have a few vegan, diary free goods. The staff were friendly and the place and really nice country feel. I just feel in 2020, it’s not impossible to have a few egg and milk free baked goods, I’m sure it would sell.
A. N.
Should Try - Great spot to pop by for the pies and cakes if you're ever in the area. We made a detour out of our way back from the skifields for lunch, and quite enjoyed our meal and sweet treats. Can get quite busy but found the queue to generally move quite quickly.
M. F.
We always head to a Beechworth Bakery if we are in the area. The food is amazing - always... But unfortunately there is generally a long wait to order at the original. But don't let this deter you - make the effort the food is worth the wait. My only niggle is I would love to see more pet friendly options, tables at the front reserved for those with pets and bowls supplied.
S. E.
The town of Beechworth is my all time favourite place to visit it has so much history and buildings. If you want to see and hear the life of Ned Kelly this is the place to be. Then head on down to The Beechworth Bakery and grab yourself the best pastries around. The customer service is number one and the building has a lot of history. This is a place you want to stop at.
C. P.
Always is and always will be a favourite coffee and cake stop for me. .....love it.... love Beechworth.
R. K.
Love this bakery, get to visit it once a year when visiting my sister.
l. d.
Amazing. Every. Single. Time!
T. D.
The Mecca of all bakeries and a must to try their bee sting
A. C.
Legendary, the original and the best. You have to try the German doughnut, magnificent! Plenty of other yummy stuff to buy. Recommended on your next visit
G. M.
Very nice bakery with tasty food.

I had my first trip to the legendary Beechworth Bakery over the long weekend and it was the best bakery I have ever been to.
I was told that lines can sometimes be all the way out the doors but didn't really believe it until I saw it myself. Even though the lines were long I was served fairly quickly and even managed to get a great little seat up on the top balcony where a local musician was playing guitar for the customers.
Although the food was out of this world the relaxing 20 minutes or so I spent on the balcony was one of my highlights. The gentleman's name was Jarrod, (I think - there was a food coma involved), and he was happy to have a quick chat at the end of his set and told me a bit about the town. He is an asset to the Bakery and I hope he is a regular performer there.
I had never tried some of the baked goods that had been recommended to me before I arrived and have now developed a taste for them. The standout was the Beestings, as the flavour of the cream was something I had never tried before. I also had a chocolate eclair that tasted just like I remember when I was little. The sausage rolls were also some of the best I have had.
I worked out the trick was to head down early in the morning when they weren't so busy and stock up on Beestings and sausage rolls to take back to the hotel for breakfast. I can't wait to go back there.
C. C.
Nice atmosphere and good food.
H.
This bakery is always a must visit! Be prepared for a little line but totally worth it. Try the Ned Kelly pie or one of their many vegetarian options. Never a let down.
K. H.
The definition of a Beesting: the best thing you will ever put in your mouth.
Seriously. But like a dozen. Because it makes you really sad when you finish the first one, and you just simply must have another.
I do not take responsibility for any addiction that develops from this food. However if you do develop one...... You're welcome ;)
J. W.
Best pastries ever! So delicious
J. B.
What can I say but yummy yum yummy.my
T. D.
Very nice and such an array of produce. Cakes looked bloody amazing. Friendly amd smiling staff.
Could do with more seating would be the only negative comment.
V. G.
Popular place! Lots of choice. Wasn't great in managing the crowd as there was no thought out organisation re covid for crowd control inside bakery. Otherwise no complaints!
D. H.
I loved the look of the selection of sweet pastries and desserts.
The spinach and feta roll was good, but I did not realise the filling also contained small bits of pasta. Due to COVID restrictions I wasn't able to properly read the selections from the doorway before being called to order. This would have been ok if I was helped a little more when placing my order, as I have never been to this bakery before.
K. E.
Absolutely beautiful pies & cakes at a good price.
P. B.
Great place to visit with your family
D. H.
Fantastic place. A must visit when in the area.
S. G.
Good cheese and bacon pie enjoyed there
j. h.
The Lady that served us was very friendly,we even got a free pie and the beestings cakes are worth the trip
D. E.
Totally worth the trip there. Everything produced in this bakery is amazing! The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is great the smell of fresh baked cakes and pies filling the air make for a great sit down. Loads of space and sitting! Reasonably priced and a must go to!
D. S.
Love a fresh Ned Kelly pie
F. L.
Must visit Bakery at Beechworth, part of Beechworth history.
We stayed at Bright but decide to drive 45 minutes to their OG bakery, even though there is Beechworth bakery at Bright 😂.
Their pies outstanding, donuts, cakes and coffee.
Love the atmosphere.
Kudos to their management.
Ps: after from bakery you can treat yourself an ice cream ( at the end of the block)
E. B.
Pie was only a 7 with too much gravy and too little meat.
Flavour was good but nowhere near as good a Gundagai bakery pie which is our Gold Standard
S. G.
Came to Beechworth on Friday 5th of Feb with my partner. Really enjoyed the Ned Kelly pie topped with a milkshake. Great service and will be back for sure.
Thanks Beechworth bakery.
B. C.
Always nice fresh sandwiches and good coffee.
Pleasant staff who filled up my water bottle after a ride from Myrtleford. Very much appreciated
R. W.
The food is okay; however, it was slightly overpriced.
A. M.
Popular, busy bakery but seems to lack something hence a star being knocked off. I have been to a few of the other Beechworth bakeries which are worth popping into when you get the munchies!
P. G.
Great for sweet, savoury not as good
H. M.
Their Ned Kelly pie is the best pie I have had in a while. Amazing people and service. Was only open for takeaway because of covid 19 reason, but no complaints at all. Support locals! You guys deserve a 5 star.
C. L.
Wide variety including gluten free bread for me. Very friendly service. Highly recommend.
D. S.
Delicious selection of food and super friendly staff
S. G.
Australia Day in Beechworth! The bakery was cued out the doors for lunch. Over 25 minutes waiting. Only 3 serving and a couple clearing. Food was good, coffee nice..in take away cups and bags instead of plates. But all good. Busy, busy.
G. M.
Great bakery one of the best I've ever been to well worth a visit 👌
I. S.
Great pies and sweet treats for a great food stop on our long drive several times a year and worth the slightly longer route!
B. M.
A must visit if you're in the region. Great selection and very tasty!
J. B.
Beechworth Bakery is consistently good. Good coffee, food and fabulous staff. Always friendly and willing to oblige. It's nice after being away for a awhile to see the same smiling faces without any loss of enthusiasm for the job they're doing. Double thumbs up BB! and thanks for the great service.
J. B.
I dropped into the Beechworth Bakery today for some lunch while doing a bit of a sight seeing expedition around the area and boy was I surprised! What a fantastic spot to go to and I'm pretty sure my face lit up as soon as I walked in.
After answering my own question of "Can I eat everything in here?" with "probably not", I opted for a Ned Kelly pie and a Bavarian Ring, which turned out to be a very very good choice as they were both delicious.
The food was outstanding, the staff were friendly and professional and the atmosphere was welcoming and well maintained.
I walked out with a bit of merchandise as well, and I'll sure to be pointing people in the direction of Beechworth Bakery or one of the other branches. Thank you for having me!
S. D.
Isn't this where the empire was first baked? Always good here, love a decent breakfast and the coffee is sensational. The early morning sun on the balcony is great. This is a big and busy bakery. Always cheerful and efficient service too.
N. D.
we always love to come that place beautiful
R. A.
Great setting. Considering covid restraints quite cosy.
A. O.
This is a really good bakery. Always good food - we usually go pies and sausage rolls. They have an awesome jam donut too! It can get very very busy so sometimes queuing is a bit of an issue and can take time to get served. There is seating upstairs as well as downstairs. Can get noisy inside but there is a sidewalk option as well if the weather permits. Really worth a visit if you are after a bakery style lunch. Have only ever had good food - never a poor experience. If customer service was quicker and better organised would be a 5!
A. L.
Yummy beesting buns. The closest I have found to a bienenstich in Victoria.
G. S.
pretty good food, but perhaps overrated. My pie was great, but partners was not nearly as nice
S. C.
Like this shop for the history and selection of food. Plenty of seats outside, on the ground floor, upstairs in two sections internally and large balcony outside with amazing view of Beechworth town. Tried the beestings. Not a fan of apricot but can't taste the apricot jam. Coffee is not so good. But you come here for the food not coffee
A. U.
First time visiting the famous Beechworth Bakery, and I was very pleased to head inside and grab a bite to eat. There is a large selection of treats and baked goods, and a fair amount of people Too, which is no surprise nor issue.
I ordered what I wanted, but I think the staff were in a little bit of a hurry. I ordered my coffee and pastry, and felt like I was hurried along to make my selection. Overall I really enjoyed the coffee and food, but I felt the staff member I had at the time was a little dry, bordering on rude, almost like she just wanted to get my order done and dusted, and move onto the next. Sweet food, bitter staff member, but definitely worth a visit!
L. W.
The bakery offers some of the most exemplary pies of the Australian tradition. The other baked goods are quite good too especially the sweet ones. There can be more seats for customers and table service would be great too. Coffee and other beverages are nice.
A. S.
A bakery clearly loved and valued by all the locals. A long line that forms even with the super efficient and effective staff, this place with its warm and mellow atmosphere opens the heart through the stomach. That’s right, the food here is the true gem.
V. O.
First time visiting the Beechworth site. Visit early to avoid the queues. Even so, there are heaps of seats upstairs. Had the French Vanilla slice, German donut and Beesting. Everything with the signature cream is absolutely delicious!
R. S.
Love this place. Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, huge range of pastry and other indulgences that I shouldn't eat, good coffee. Decor is Australian heritage, with a log fire ( actually gas) upstairs. Well worth a visit.
M. S. (.
It's a bakery. You can get bread, pies, donuts and a multitude of other products a bakery sells. To be honest, I didn't notice anything special that sets these guys apart from other bakeries other than the size (upstairs eating section). The customer service was good and the food nice.
R. K.
Fast service with an amazingly vast variety of baked goods available; with so much to choose from, it means there is something for every man and his dog to enjoy!
S. H.
Disappointing I had heard about this bakery 20 years ago when I owned my own cake shop.
The food was pretty average. We tried a mushroom pie, the base was floury,(not cooked properly) coffee tasted burnt.
The lemon slice I think they forgot the lemon. The chocolate hedgehog slice was not fresh. (I know you dont make it everyday) but it was very dry.
The place looked good and was very clean with friendly staff.
N. N.
Amazing bakery. We come here every year at Easter time and you can't wipe the smiles on our faces when we leave. The beestings are a thing of magic and everyone needs to give them a go at least one time in their life. Also, I don't know any other bakery that has unlimited coffee! Love it here
W. D.
Brilliant! Best array of cakes, pies and breads I've seen in a bakery, all of first class quality and all made on the premises. Delicious coffee. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, upstairs and downstairs. Very friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommend.
S. N.
Great pastries but super slow with coffee service. Would not survive in a city. Also the outdoor seating area is full of bees (being in Beechworth) so if you have a phobia or allergy, best to eat indoors.
J. S.
So good we changed our trip itinerary to go back. Try any of the fresh cream cakes - heaven.
R.
Without wanting to sound disrespectful, we've been coming here for 10 years and every time we return, the quality of the food diminishes. This time around, the pies tasted reheated from frozen, generic and bland. Are the pies made offsite now due to the expansion of the business? The price seemed have raised from last time also.
F.
I live in QLD and this was my sixth visit! You like cake , pastries and coffee, then go no further!! Great food, great coffee, could make me happy by selling leaf tea in a tea pot, but hey, I survived and enjoyed.
A. H.
Great tasting assortment of pies and bread. I had the beef and black pepper and it's a contender to the best meat pie I've ever had!
s. s.
Love, love, love. The sandwich was great and the lady made it for me fresh for the same price as the pre-made. I got a drinks and coffee & it was only $7. Such a nice place to sit and read. We went back the next day and had pies & loved it too.
Oh & P.s. to the person who reviewed below me called 'Step'. The pie was really good when we had it and the wait was the wait. It's not something to complain about. It's a great bakery hence why you must wait because there are tons of people there.
A. N.

Great bee stings, average to good otherwise
A. B.
Absolutely loved this place. It has got extensive seating capacity. Went there on Sunday and they had a live music there. It was amazing and singer was too good.
Really happy with the food and coffee that we ordered and services. Amazing staff.Would highly recommend this place.
P. J. C.
The Beechworth Bakery has been a favourite stop each Easter. I was a little surprised with the 10% public holiday loading on the already expensive products. So, instead of visiting everyday over Easter, you just got us for just one visit this year. We have found better value around town. Thanks for the memories though.
A. H.
Best bakery (I've been to) in Australia, pies are to die for, we go several times a year, today we had a butter chicken pie, a Thai green curry roll (like a sausage roll), lamb & rosemary pie, & broccoli, cauliflower & cheese pie. If you like sweets, beechworth are renowned for there bee stings, but they have a huge assortment of different sweets. Highly recommend.
T. S.
I will say the Beehive is still very very nice, but i do think there are WAY better meat pies out there elsewhere.
P. G.
All i can say is that the food is just great. I had a pie call the Ned Kelly Pie. And i also had a sandwich ham salad and it was so big and full ham and salad at least 3 inches thick and the Ned Kelly pie was full of chunky meat and veges 4 inches high. All i can say to you all go there and really enjoy one.
T. L.
Nice cozy bakery with plenty of pastries and sandwiches to choose from. Lots of parking and seating space. Tried the apple strudel, egg bacon cheese toasties and custard pie. A good place to eat at when you are looking for food in between lunch and dinner.
S. W.
Bought some pastires and cake. It was so great that my 8 years old thoroughly enjoyed it. However, be prepared to wait for sometime in coffee as it is busy.
P. D.
Visited on a Friday morning. Not too busy thankfully. Range of bakery items is very good. Enough to suit both sweet and savoury palates. Service was average. The coffee rather poor. Worth the visit for a light bakery meal or snack. Skip the coffee.
A. B.
Stopped off twice, Too and from our holiday to Marysville. Amazing bakery with lots of space and selection of goods. Line was huge on our second visit, but can see why. Coffee was good and the chocolate elcare was the best I have ever had! Will be coming again
P. K.
There is a reason why they are always packed!! Not a fan of the Ned Pie but the other pies and food are amazing 'personal preference I guess'. We usually do a full family visit and everyone is happy and full :). For the intense flow of customers the staff do extremely well.
J. v. D.
The best of all the Beechworth Bakery franchises.
K. B.
Fantastic selection of delicious bakery items and lots of history and Ned Kelly memorabilia.t
A. A.
Coffee and food were amazing.
Staff were fantastic, polite, helpful.
Would highly recommend dropping in
C. H.
Nice food and coffee.
D. H.
Definitely 5 out of 5 for a place that allows you to make a cup of tea just the way you like it and to have second cup if you want one!
E. H.
Well known one of the best Australian bakery. Forgot to take the pic but it has herritage building. Bought mushroom pie and steak chunck pie. Drooling now
R. A. P.
Finally we got a chance to visit THE Beechworth Bakery in Beechworth! There was an exciting vibe when we came, quite a long queue has formed but it didn't take that long to reach our turn. We ordered Steak mushroom pie, Sausage roll and Cream Donut. All yummy and well priced.
S. j.
It’s a must. Must have a look. Must go in. Must have something to eat and you must have a bee sting 😋. Plus their toasted sandwiches are just mouth watering. They have bottomless tea & coffee or maybe you prefer a latte. Love their Easter window display and Christmas time to. Tom Has done very well with Beechworth Bakery’s. I must say the staff are very sufficient it’s runned very well , especially in busy periods. But of course the locals should always come first when serving.
E. V.
Nothing like the original branch!
Had this daily during our holidays.
Sadly, a lady named LINDSAY from the BRIGHT IRELAND ST. branch destroys what Beechworth Bakery hospitality is all about.
Left a review for that branch that is quite the contrary to my happiness with the original branch. Pleasant people.
A. W.
After a poor experience at the bright BB a few days ago we dropped in to the beechworth BB for brekky this morning. I had resigned to the expectation that they would also have no vegan options, however they do have 4 options. A sour dough loaf, falafel wrap, sourdough, and soy/almond milk. So unless you want to eat a loaf of bread, the option is really down to the wrap which I had and it was quite nice.
The black coffee was good, thank you.
Little bit more relaxed at the BBB and better vibe. The staff were polite, and professional. Would be nice to see some vegan baked goods - I heard 3 people ask about vegan options while I was in line so there is a real opportunity there, however I understand you can't please everyone.
I. K.
My wife and I enjoyed our breakfast and lunch here.
A lot of tasty options both veg and non veg....with generous portions and decent prices...
Coffee has a scope of improvement...
All in all a gem of a cafe in the heart of the beautiful Beechworth...Loved it
R. B.
The pastry on their pies are was pretty good. Vegetarian options few, but better than most rural victorian towns. I am a harsh pie judge as I am a Kiwi, and Australia is incapable of producing a decent pie. But the cauliflower pie was not bad.
Friendly staff and an inquisitive napkin holder. Id go back but i wouldnt get their logo tattooed upon myself
B. S. (.
The pies were huge deep dish flavoursome and the service was great. Huge selection of baked goods which all looked incredibly lovely. Coffee is excellent. A place to tie up your canine outside with a permanant water dish.
F. S.
We've visited nearly all the Beechworth Bakeries around Victoria in our travels. Love the baked goods, especially the pies and the Olde Worldy atmosphere. The Beechworth bakery is the original in a great old 2 storey building. Unfortunately it's looking a bit sad and worn and could really do with a bit of TLC. Everything was clean and functional. Staff as usual are friendly and welcoming, greeting you with a smile. It really felt as if they were pleased to have us visiting the shop! We had one of the best pies I've had, the "Smokey Slow Cooked Pork with Bourbon". Absolutely delicious with big chunks of succulent pork and a really delicious sumptuous gravy. The pastry was perfect with a light crusty top. We also had coffees and cakes and tried the Beestings and the Eccles cakes. All lovely and fresh. The wide, open balcony upstairs looking out onto the street below is a great place to relax and enjoy your meal. The large range of traditional country bakery style cakes is difficult to choose from and always wishing we could try one more.
K. C.
Service is a bit slow but freindly
L. J.
Great selection. Good food. Be prepared to wait in long queue to order then wait another 20 minutes for a coffee. Very popular place. Tables inside and outside. Also upstairs seating. Didn't like 10% surcharge on top of order on a public holiday!
K. B.
Great service friendly staff
M. b.
Our family of nine had pies and pastie here. Expensive for large group. Staff prompt. Very busy. Had Thai chicken roll which was nice. Husband disappointed with his pastie.
i. j.
Love the place with a passion. Don't like the pies though. Tasteless and very glugy pastry. Over priced . They USED TO make the best pies and pasties in the WHOLE WORLD....trust me..I guess as things get more expensive corners and quality are first out the door. Supermarket pies beat Beechworth pies hands down. SAD.
L. N.
What a brilliant find. We wandered down a lane in Beechworth and 'discovered ' this fabulous place. Great staff, shady tables and brilliant food! This place is a must do whilst in Beechworth. Can't wait to revisit on our return.
n.
Very busy, but was served quickly and staff were lovely. Coffee and pie was nice but the real show stopper was the shortbread cookie! Absolutely lovely. Everything was reasonably priced and it was also very clean
I. N.
Lots of seating and food. Toilets are upstairs and inaccessible for anyone with mobility issues. This is a big chain/franchise, so not quirky and unique if you are interested in something cool.
N. G.
Always got to make a stop for a Beechworth Bakery, no matter which town.
C. B.
We stopped for lunch on the ANZAC day long weekend & even though it was really busy & we had to queue for a little while, we got served very quickly & efficiently. The food was wonderful. We weren't aware that you could/had to help yourself to any tea or extra coffee at a little seperate kitchenette area, but figured it out pretty quickly though. I did not like the Lipton's English breakfast tea on offer. I am a big English breakfast tea drinker & fan & didn't enjoy the flavour of this brand of tea all.
L. S.
Beechworth Bakery (Beechworth) is a great place to go if you want to have a 15 minute break to eat some delicious food or have one of their brilliant warm beverages. They have a great variety of choice and their home - baked bread products are top notch. It is a good place to go to as well if you are someone who would like to visit all of the different Beechworth Bakeries in country Victoria.
J. F.
Good coffee and helpful service.
S. T.
Yummy delicious food. Heaps of choice.
A. M.
Beautiful food and friendly service and clean
M. B.
Good pies, would recommend the Ned Kelly pie!
I. d.
Beaut coffee, and food to die for. Their cakes, breads and pastries are divine.
R. R.
Amazing Pastries
J. H.
Tasty local bread, pies etc
K. J.
They're absolutely amazing and the food was tasty and fresh as always. 5/5 will be back
S. W.
Bought some pastires and cake. It was so great that my 8 years old thoroughly enjoyed it. However, be prepared to wait for sometime in coffee as it is busy.
M. P.
Great pies try ned kelly & pork pies yum , if you love fatcakes knock yourself out , all cakes are worth it yum yum I'll be back for sure .
I. S.
Delicious pies and carrot cake.
C. A.
While the type of food supplied here is pretty standard bakery fare, it's good quality and reasonably priced... as is the coffee. The staff are accommodating and friendly and there is plenty of room.
N. L. R.
Great friendly service staff went ubove and beyond to assist. Staff happily chatted to us while we had our lunch always great service.
C. O.
Friendly service, great selection of cakes, pies & pastries. Handy location & can park outside shop.
S. S.
This place is so relaxing and has a great atmosphere. Food was great loved the breakfast bap..veggie version
I. C.
Great service provided by two lanes to order your items/meal. Upstairs and balcony less busy. Tables outside and high chance of beautiful weather. Centrally located in amazing township.
I. M.
The famous Beechworth Bakery is worthy of its reputation and provides good food in nice surroundings and accompanied with fresh tea and coffee. It does get busy so be prepared to queue, the wait is well worth it.
M. R.
Classic icon of the region. Best cakes around and bottomless teas, what more could you ask for?
L. B.
Delicious pies and jelly slice was pretty good too. Always worth the drive.
A. K.
Very cosy place, it's not antiuq, well decorated and look after place which can bring memory back. Fantastic chooses of pastry. And your bottomless coffee option is outstanding, please don't take it away.
M. C.
Great custard tart, fresh with a solid base. Mmm. Not bad potato pie either.
H. B.
It was average. Busy, overrated and they couldn't/ wouldn't make a coffee not on your standard latte list.
S. S.
what a nostalgic bakery! the food / staff are great and will simply add to your overall experience...
E. B.
Friendly happy team . Good custard tarts .
T. D.
Very nice food at the bakery but no where warm to sit. Upstairs balcony was not open.
j.
Been a while since I've been here but this place still has the best meat pie I've ever tasted. The vanilla slice was excellent too, I need to come back sometime!
N. P.
Amazing bakery -- its busyness attests to its quality. We had the Ned Kelly pies. They were the best cheese and bacon pies I have had in a long time.
J. S.
Must stop place when travelling this way. I had the haloumi and avo sandwich and death by chocolate. Both amazing!! The girl serving me was so polite and efficient. There was a long que and I can see why. It's worth the wait!!
G. B.
Quite known bakery place at Beechworth. Wasn't a big fan of their coffee but the sandwiches were quite good
J. B.
My kiddies and I LOVE coming here because - Akaisha 9yrs says, "The food is delicious and the staff are polite". Josh 10yrs says, "The Nutella Donuts are great".
J. V.
Never fails to deliver the freshest yummy food ..
A. C.
A must-do for anyone visiting Beechworth, even if it's just so you can say you've been to the original Beechworth Bakery! There are a couple of gluten free slices and cakes in their display cases, but all of the deli sandwich options are also available gluten free.
J. J.
Bro the pies were bomb!!!!!! Never had a better steak, bacon, cheese in my life. It was lit
T. B.
Love to visit this place when I'm in the area. Great Staff and food/coffee always good
S. M.
Great variety of food
S. M.
The custard on the vanilla slice was nice, Original. The pastie was average, nice enough. Sausage roll same as 7/11 and quiche, soggy crust and flavourless. Nothing special.
L. G.
Best, freshest ham and salad wrap I've had for years. Staff rushed us which was a little disappointing.
K. K.
Great selection, very busy, but wait not too bad. Sausage rolls a bit average. Ned Kelly pie ok, but they use mince instead of steak pieces.
k. t.
Love Beechworth !
From the beautiful gemstone jeweller on the corner to the delicious treats at the bakery next door there is something for everyone here. We wandered around on a sleepy Sunday afternoon thankful for the retailers that opened on a Sunday and made our visit enjoyable .Winter or summer always worth a visit. A special treat is the upmarket shop called 'the finer things of life' which sell good quality antique items and beautiful new products that are matched with paintings and decor. They have a wonderful range of jewellery.
N. J.
Always a must go to... Great choice in all meal/menus...with heaps of rolls sandwiches and of course your pies etc...toasties etc...and delicious cakes etc... Always sooo busy ...has upstairs dining as well...so caters for quite a few people.. Great for families
D. R.
Friendly service and yummy food. Plus I finally got to eat at the original Beechworth Bakery 😀
M. E.
Everything. My family are regular customers because the food is always fresh and of a high quality. Always clean and tidy with friendly staff. The only drawback is often it's VERY busy!
R. F.
Nice pies, pastries and coffee
P. G.
Hands down the best pies in town! They have a great variety available. Gets really busy during lunch. Would definitely visit again!
T. W.
Nice pies good customer service
P. a. L.
Great place to stop and take the weight off your feet while traveling around the area. Lots to choose from, huge pie selection including an awesome cauliflower and broccoli option for us vego's. Not a lot of seating on the entry level tho so if you spy a table when its busy, grab it before making your way to the counter to order ( not easy to do if you happen to be traveling solo ) but there is more seating on the first floor if stair arent your kryptonite..
An important thing to note is that the restrooms are located up stairs ( couldnt see others signs to the contrary ) so if steps are your archenemy then best take a potty break elsewhere first (or after)
Great stop on a cold day and the coffee is ok too.
j. m.
Went to beechworth bakery today and they are doing social distancing fantastic!!! the staff were so calm and happy with the customers. Makes a hard situation so much easier.
L. B.
Lived up to its press. Great coffee and warm buzzing early morning atmosphere.
J. D.
Very nice place and huge selections
K. W.
Saw the line our front and figured it must have been good, ended up being well worth it! Easily a must have lunch if you’re down Beechworth way
S. B.
Always very busy with rude visitors pushing and shoving. Staff managing customrs quicky and looking after locals where possible. Quite expensive but there has been a great improvement in the product but smaller serves especially the cakes.
M. U. R.
Busy on Good Friday, but the staff were friendly and smiley. Reasonably priced, the steak pies are made with mince, would be nice with chunky steak, but the tuna pie was amazing!
M. J.
Nice food, good range and has gluten free food. Worth stopping in.
D. P.
Awesome food. Ned Kelly pie is like Sunday bacon n eggs breaky. Bread, cakes, coffee all superb. Very friendly and inviting place
S. H.
Food was amazing. Got some take away pies to bring back to melbourne for dinner, best idea ever! They really know how to make a good pie
S. A.
Ned Kelly pie is mint!
I. W.
Everyony told me to visit the bakery. Pies were not that good. And you could only get there alleged famous vanilla slice on the weekend. Disappointing for someone there on a Wednesday
P. P.
Not as good as Bendigo beechworth bakery Service was excellent but my bacon and cheese pie was way too peppery it was all i could taste
a. m.
Great food, pies and cakes yum. Was a little wait but they were very busy. In all a great experience to show my family what i got to enjoy as a kid holidaying from bright.
M. M.
Wow! I put on 3 kg just looking here. It's a wonderland for committed eaters, bain marees full of delicious pies, cakes, sangas, and of course coffee. It's busy and humming. It's great.
R. H.
While Beechworth Bakery is a quality shop, I think it's becoming a victim of its own success. Lunchtime is not a pleasant experience, it's carnage. Take one look in the window and all you see is queues, you can't see the product because of the queues resulting in most patrons getting to the front of the queue completely unsure of what they want to order slowing the whole process down. Acland Street bakeries at least put all their goodies in the front window so you can decide if you want to buy something so you've already decided before you start interacting with the staff. In Hong Kong, they cleverly take your money before you see a queue - and then when you see the queue, you're committed to waiting.
G. S.
At last they have a fair serving line so customers get served in turn. Yummy food in a beaut historic town. They just need to keep the tables a bit cleaner during peak times.

One of our favourite places to go when we can. They are consistently awesome and delicious! First timers must try the famous Ned Kelly Pie, although the beesting is worth a good mention too.
The venue is set beautifully - winters are best by the fireplace upstairs and summers are ideal on the balcony. Family friendly facilities, free Wi-fi and bottomless tea/coffee is available too. Parking is seldom an issue unless one visits during a busy tourist weekend in Beechworth.
Of particular note is the lack of a numbered/queue system - the great staff greet customers who line up nearest any counter. However, those getting a barista made coffee will take number buzzers which usually aren't too long a wait.
Beechworthy Bakery's other locations, such as the one in Albury, are still pretty good The bread and baked goods are always consistent and one can always expect great customer service.

Amazed by the selection of scrumptious goodies. Stayed and had a coffee and a very tasty Ned Kelly pie. We brought 3 Beestings and 5 caramel slices home. Yum, yum.

Love this place, went to the Echuca store. Friendly staff and even better food. Recommend the Beachworth steak pie, great flavour, went back the next day to tuck into the French vanilla slice and super fresh chocolate eclair. A must visit place when in Echuca.

First time here. Was crazy busy so was a little hard to take in the whole experience. I had a chicken pie which I really enjoyed as well as a bee sting.

A must visit destination for us when we visit Beechworth. In good weather we take advantage of the upstairs balcony and the bottomless tea and coffee. The pies and pastries are delicious.

Highly recommend the Aussie Eccles and custard tarts. You can get bottomless hot drinks which is a bonus, and cheap and very nice breads. A nice place to visit if you are passing through.

Lovely place. Must visit when in Beechworth or passing by.
Bustling ground floor and a quaint relaxed first floor eating option.
The eats and treats are nothing unusual but certainly good quality.

Review somewhat biased by the fact I've been coming here for about 20 years. Amazing service, nice food, heaps of seating space. Well worth a visit!

A visit to any Beechworth bakery in Australia is highly Necessary. Sausage Rolls are irresistible, My advice is if you drive past a Beechworth bakery stop there and have a snack straight away nothing will ever beat the taste of there Sausage Rolls.

Treat yourself to a Ned Kelly pie - with cheese and bacon and a cooked egg on top. Friendly staff, lots of variety of hot and cold food, indoor and outdoor seating, inexpensive....what's not to like!

Obviously a very popular place as we tried to go for lunch but it was so so busy. Went back for afternoon tea and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The cakes were delicious.

We have been here many times and always visit here when in the area. This is a good bakery and food is good generally. It does get extremely busy, noisy and parking can be a problem when busy. Good overall.

Their slogan says Australia's greatest bakery and I have to agree

Beautiful food, great customer service, yummy coffee, plenty of seating downstairs and up stairs.. Definitely come back here again.

Tried the Ned Kelly pie, sausage rolls, snickerdoodle and bee sting. Pie was good flavour, sausage rolls has good pastry but the meat could be better. Sweets were ok
P. M.
Nice bakery, well worth the visit. Great selection of baked goods. When in town this is the place for a breakfast or lunch snack (closed for dinner)

Only let down was bitter watery latte.

Plenty of options but it's become too commercial unfortunately.

The Beestings were as delicious as described to me. And the vanilla slice was delightful

I'd been to three Beechworth bakeries and the service and quality is always great and standard. Highly recommended!
And this time I found the owner and founder: Tom O'Toole !

This bakery had the nicest and best pie I have ever had, great work. Looking forward to visiting Beechworth again just so I can have another 😀

Great pastries! Vanilla slice and beestings are always a refreshing treat. Went at a low time, so didn't have to wait long.

Best pies ever!!

Looking for a dinner to take back to our motel balcony at sunset, all we could find is meat pies from Beechworth Bakery. Very average. It filled the gap, but nothing special.
R.
Bit crowded and chaotic but worth it for the food. Coffee is good and we loved the chicken and leek pie. Plenty of seats upstairs as well.
J. R.
When at Beechworth, this is a WORTHy place to stop by!!
P. L.
Great range of baked goods - does tend to get very crowded though, and not only on special days. Nice balcony and seating upstairs too.
v. c.
Great food, reasonably priced. It's a shame that the girl serving us yawned in our face, otherwise it would have been 5 stars
D. M.
Still one of the great bakeries in country Victoria. Plenty of space for social distancing.
M. P.
We had lunch here on 19 January 2018: food was o’kay, but not as good as in the past. Although it was very busy the staff were very friendly and calm.
S. C.
Good food, some different items available at each store which is nice
J. u.
Ned Kelly Pie very nice. But the best today was the young man who served me.....fantastic and full of Christmas Happiness 🎄😁
G.
Has great reviews as a must go to when in Beechworth although honestly it was just average.. Prices are good and coffee was okay but nothing spectacular to make a recommendation
E. M.
Slightly pricey but it's a fine establishment serving cakes, muffins, sandwiches and pies. Ample seating but can get crowded during lunch hours and weekends.
T. P.
The food was fantastic. The shop and amenities were clean and well maintained. The staff were all absolutely lovely and so so helpful.
L. E.
We loved the huge variety of cakes. The pies, quiches and other savoury options also excellent choices.
M. A.
Great coffee and some of the best dessert options in town. Loved the service too, friendly and happily helpful staff.

Anytime and anywhere Beechworth Bakery is worth a drive. Stuff here is divine and worth paying for. The family love it.
S. L.
Best ice coffee I've had Thank you nice and clean too which is always bonus as that's the first thing I look at the cleanliness of food places and the young man had great customer service
S. B.
