HS Cakes Springvale Visited on 18/1/2021 My friend is very generous, and twice he brought us a durian cake for afternoon tea. It was real durian puree sandwiched in a sponge cake. The cakes were soft and the real durian flavour is really great. I can't comment on the the service, becauseng my friend bought the cakes. He seems to be happy with it, because he has bought from this shop on several occasions without complaint. I was trying to to decipher the shop name in Chinese, but the words were rather unintelligible. After checking the pricing, I think the larger size cake is overpriced.

This new location is so much more accessible! My local go to for anything durian! Their durian birthday cakes never fail! They’ve now got a durian soft serve!!! Can pay a little extra to have a durian sponge cake ready and done for you in 30min!!

Ordered various cake slices from them and the Durian chiffon cake was my favourite. It was delivered fresh and it is so satisfying! Didn't enjoy the durian crepe cake and it is not worth the price. At $15 the slices of cake, this is expensive just for eating the cream which doesn't taste good. The cream doeesn't taste good. Doesn't have a good combination of durian and cream. The cream overpowers it and it is not the nice type of cream. I told the manager about the cake and he said: 'no one told you to buy the cake!' That response was So rude! Let me tell you that you are the one selling it, promoting it and displaying it in your shop to attract customers. And of course, as a customer I would be interested in buying since you are selling. Some small businesses do refunds, it's just because you don't want to do it because you want to save costs but what does exchanging another cake cost. Is it that much of a cost when you have so many cakes. Oh you were saying because you will have to do it for other customers, but if the cake is not good (and it was more than 50% not good), then it is what it is, you refund or give something else in exchange.

Definitely recommend buying from HS CAKES. I ordered a Durian Chiffon and Pandan Chiffon. Instead of the plain Pandan Chiffon, I was delivered a Durian Pandan. When I rang to let them know, they were super helpful. I got to keep the boo boo cake and they delivered the replacement cake the following week. Their cakes are an absolute delight to eat! Soft, fluffy and delicious! They are very responsive to messages and have been great to purchase from.

Go to place for fresh chiffon cakes, good value for $12, and it's huge! :) We usually get the butter cookies too, though one time I reckon they accidentally mixed the batter with durian, as the cookies tasted of durian and the kids refused to eat them. :) All good at other times, love their chiffon cakes.

We were so pleased with our wedding cupcakes from HS cakes. Judy did an amazing job creating the cakes that we had in mind and it turned out exactly as how we imagined it.
