Yummy desserts and pastries. Coffee was good too. The outlet was busy when I went there around 12:45pm. Looks like a popular bakery to go to. Loved the pastries. Gobbled most of them before I could take a shot. Reasonably priced and decent food. They have build your own sandwich and roll service, which is essential for picky eaters.

Loved their version of sticky date pudding as well as bread pudding.... Probably one of the nicest bakeries in Melbourne that's always crowded, especially during office hours where people are ordering made-to-order wraps and rolls and sandwiches...Definitely returning to.try them Service is quick and easy. Excellent cakes and coffee. Open 7 days a week until late afternoon - great for a café/bakery (far too many cafe places close and must think people don’t want a coffee and cake after 3pm). Even open very early for those on way to work at 5.30am.

The smell of fresh bread wafting through the air, coffee to die for and lovely lovely people - can you think of a better way to get morning coffee. Coffee is the best and do us a favour - dont ty the first one in a take away cup. Cash only at this place and there's parking on the side streets if the main through fare are filled up. Try the bacon and egg roll with a coffee.

Wonderful!! Our favourite Melbourne bakery to send loved ones their surprise birthday cakes (from Sydney). And these cakes are always such a decadent treat! The owner has always helped us deliver something special, no matter how short notice. Super grateful!!

I asked the owner if he had anything gluten free. He thought for a moment & then apologized because he only had sweets, nothing savoury! The staff were lovely & helpful. The gluten free sweets were fabulous & the lactose free coffee was made by a great barista! Thank you 😀

The cake and patisserie selection is great. The coffee I had was very aromatic and strong. They also have a sandwich bar which is perfect when you forget your lunch and want something fresh. It's on the way to work, and stopping by in the morning sets the pace for my day. It does get pretty busy in the morning though. Worth a try and you never know, might be your next favourite bakery/cafe.

Really love the bakehouse, good atmosphere, always people there and the staff are really friendly. They have a good range of food and drinks on offer, from sweet to savoury. They do good coffees too so I always enjoy a nice cuppa with a beef pie or a treat.

A fantastic family established. A well established hub for the local shopping strip both service and quality are never short of amazing. The variety is what you would expect from a traditional bakery with a cafe part attached to it. Prices are very reasonable and staff are extremely hospitable and friendly. Whether it’s a drop in for a quick takeaway coffee or sit in and enjoy the famous egg and bacon roll the bake house has something for everyone. Definitely a local favourite.

Coffee was okay, and slice was tasty, but the cash only policy, with an atm in store charging $3 fees is clearly not aimed at customer convenience. There are very clear regulations about only being able to pass on the actual cost of using card facilities, but this approach circumvents that, which is disappointing and outdated.

Ordered red velvet birthday cake. It is very delicious and reasonable price. Only thing is that they don't accept cards. And in the covid 19 situation, that's not acceptable as its dangerous for their workers and customers.

A few simple changes would get this establishment 5 stars from me. 1. No EFTPOS. I can't figure this one out. 2. Confusing ordering regime. Bad counter layout. 3. Bad communication. too much behind counter relaying of messages causing mistakes and delays resulting in grumpy staff and anxious customers. 4. Too many tables with bad layout. The food is generally very good, the coffee/tea is good. It is in a really good spot and has good outdoor seating. Prices are ok for Bay St. The problems are obvious and manageable. They need Mary Queen of Shops.

Have mixed feelings about Melbourne Bakehouse. Honestly they have never dissapointed on food quality. Coffee and cake is good. And sandwich bar is fresh with good choices; although its pricing can be tricky to understand. Usually very attentive and service is timely. Egg and bacon is worth note.

Bought a Jaffa cake for my partners 30th not knowing really what to expect considering i ordered it the night before and read zero reviews, but let me just say how pleasantly surprised i was! Honeslty one of the best cakes i have EVER tasted. It was not too sweet, very moist and DELICIOUS! Hands down won't go anywhere else for a cake ever again. I don't even eat cake and i ended up eating half of it! SO DAMN GOOD. Only thing i can fault is they only accept cash which is super annoying.

Best bakery in port melbourne! Great coffee, great cakes/tarts, amazing pies (curry steak is to die for). Welcoming and friendly staff. And best of all, their sandwiches, fresh, cheap, and filling, with a great selection of ingredients. Would deffinaitly reccomend for a nice lunch!

There are fewer and fewer places like this in Melbourne where they'll make you up a fresh sandwich or roll to order that isn't full of overly fancy fillings. Cheese and salad, egg mayo, tuna, ham/cheese/tomato - take your pick, they've got it. Plus they do a good coffee and there are plenty of cakes and tarts for dessert. You will also get change from a tenner if you order a simple cheese salad roll and coffee - a rare thing indeed!

Cash only cafe, Love the opening hours they're so convenient and this place is open before and after most other cafes which is great. Server was lovely, she did end up making a mistake conveying my order to the barista however she was providing great customer service apart from that. I got my chai and the barista said that it was a spicy chai and I ordered vanilla, I pretended out of politeness that it must of been my mistake and said I would just take the coffee anyway. The gentleman insisted he replace my order which was lovely as I actually cant stand the spicy chai, the replacement beverage was very fast however the milk was very hot and seared my tastebuds on my tongue at first taste, after i let it cool I realised it was a very weakly flavoured chai and basically just a cup of hot milk, this was disappointing however the service was exceptional so im definitely going to give this cafe a second chance.
