We were so hungry, we didn’t take any photos of the pies. But hey, they were deliciousooo. The place is cute. The bathroom was very clean and had cute notes on the wall.
M. C.
Amazing the pies. There are so many different varieties. My favourite is the rendang chicken. It's full of flavour and delicious. I always need to have one there (outside) and an extra one for takeaway! Great service too. Looking forward to when they open again for dine in.
I. D.
Really friendly staff that were easy to chat to. We were near closing so nothing available from the coffee machine and a few of us had to wait for some pies to be reheated but well worth the wait. I really enjoyed my vegetable pastie, it was quite filling and really hits the spot after you finish a trail nearby. The dessert was quite sweet so happy I went with apple crumble instead of the purportedly much sweeter cheesecake. PLUS free tomato sauce packets! Amazing!
There is seating outside if you are unable to dine in and ample paid parking at the back ($2/hour, from memory).
R.
Fantastic pies and dessert. Worth the travel from the city.
F. Q.
No doubt pies are great and have really good taste but staff is unbelievably slow and lack the number on a busy day. To get two pies you need to wait at least an hour on a weekend lunch time. Coffee staff was chit chatting for 20 mins and didn't bother to prepare my coffee. Not impressed.
D. H.
Amazing pies, seriously the best for miles and I make the 45min drive there specially to have some of the meat pies, curry pies are fantastic too. I always buy about 5 and take them home to eat over the next few days, once I ate 3 in one day!

Two of us came to Pie In The Sky in Olinda on a Friday afternoon for lunch. We ordered the Aussie beef meat pie and a chicken tandoori meat pie, as well as the New York Cheesecake and a caramel milkshake. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they were only offering take-away but we were allowed to sit down in the restaurant, so the only real difference was there was no table service and we had to eat the pie off a paper bag. Bit strange... and not quite sure how dining and eating off a paper bag is any more COVID-safe, but nonetheless the waiters were friendly and the pies were quite good. Thank you Pie In The Sky!

I enjoy coming here after a hike to get a pie. There are a variety of pies sold here and are sold on price based on whether they are a traditional or premium pie. You can also choose takeaway which is generally a few bucks cheaper.
You can also choose add-ons to your pie to make it a meal (potato mash with peas, veggies/salad). The Devonshire Scone Set is a must if you haven't tried. I love those scones! Definitely a fan of blue heaven milkshakes also!
If you do come here on a weekend, make sure to book or be prepared to wait. Unfortunately, I have witnessed some customers who refused to leave because they drove a far distance and came too late. I really felt for that staff member that day and spoke to the owner to share what I had seen and I couldn't help but apologise for how disrespectful those customers were.
The staff are friendly and do a great job considering how busy it can get, so please be kind, everyone has their own battles.
On a final note, I do enjoy the atmosphere of being here. It reminds me of being in front of a fireplace in a cottage for some reason. Just make sure to wear some warm clothes in the colder months. If you choose to sit outside it can get rather cold.
D. N.
Used to be a great place with wonderful cottage feel and atmosphere. I understand that you might be having difficulties with staffing, so why not cap the amount of people in so that you can provide some kind of service. Completely full, luke warm pies and only take away service.
t. h.
Covid has hit them hard. Really sad to see them unable to open for dining in service. However their pies are still as amazing as they were a few years back. So pop in for takeaway and support their business. You won't be disappointed.
W. t. s.
Came for a drive with family and friends to enjoy some pies and the Dandenongs.
The rendang pie was very tasty but not as spicy as they say it is. Chicken korma pie was filled with plenty of chicken and a delicious sauce, and the beef burgundy was simple but had a great flavour.
Pastry flakey but more on the soft side not overly crunchy. Over all enjoyed them and would come back again when in the area.
M. D.
I cannot believe how much this looks like a real pie! In the sky! It is uncanny. It has crust pastry, cooking marks, and even has steam coming off it 24/7. It smells like a delicious red pudding, but it is very big. It is also suspended in the air, and you can't eat it. Love it here, thank you so, so much. Bless. X

When my dish came I was a bit disappointed as you can see from the picture, such a boring presentation ( one pie with 3 mash potatoes). Pie was average, pretty standard taste as I had in other pie restaurants. But this costed me $18!!
G. R.
A nice drive to this place on a chilled morning for some pies yesterday. Staff is great, nice and cosy ambiance. Liked the pies and loved the coffee, make sure to order the scones too. Will visit again.
N. L.
A traditional looking cafe selling and specialising in pies (what else?). We tried a variety of their western style pies and avoided the Asian influenced varieties. I would recommend their Aussie pies (with a touch of tomato sauce), burgundy and Guinness. The sausage roll was also good. The service took longer than expected which was a bit surprising since we simply just ordered pies - I assume they came off the chiller into the oven. Busy ambience with many tourists and one suspects that getting seats could be an issue during peak hours, but they have a fair amount of tables and it could be well worth the effort to give it a try. Families and friends would like this place.
M. K.
Excellent customer service! I ordered a cheese pie and a vanilla chai latte which tasted amazing. Today was a public holiday so it was extremely busy but staff kept their cool! If that was me I'd be dying. I would recommend Pie in the Sky. Hot tourist tip, costs extra for table service so if you want to save $$$ order take out from the counter. Plus the waiters where lovely to my younger brother who requested the rest of his hot chocolate in a takeaway cup. 5/5 stars.
P. C. H.
Went on Saturday for lunch, a lot of people but managed to get a table. Ordered the food and no long wait for serving.
Ordered the Pie floaters, was disappointed on the peas and ham soup, lack of flavours. However, the tandoori chicken and spinach pie is nice, but didn't really tasted much spinach.
Mashed potatoes are smooth and yum, the gravy on top is good.
We also ordered the Cronuts and waffles. Love the Cronuts.
P. S.
Always a great place to eat. Staff are usually very good, although our waitress might have been having a bad day yesterday, wasn't looking too happy.
Food is always good, pea & ham soup and pie & chips always go down nicely.
Plenty of shops nearby to brouse and the rhododendron gardens are nearby.
Y. W.
Came here during Easter and the place started to get busy as soon as it opened. I must say the pie was ok but ot could be better. The filling was a bit too dry for my liking.
M. D.
Great pies and pastries ..
Lovely warm feeling inside . A must visit on a cold rainy day 😉
K. M.
Can get busy during busy. Pies are tasty as was the vanilla slice. Costs extra to eat in. The one problem was that they didn't get the food order delivered in the correct order as the Vanilla slice arrive much earlier than the pie which was a little weird. Good ingredients used and there was chunks of bacon in my pie which was nice.
K. L. H.
On the way to Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges.
It is located in The small town Olinda, little but nice place. The price is cheap, special pie with different taste. I like number 2 with chips.
We made the order before coming so when out group of 40 people arrived, they served very quickly, named with dishes of each. Good service and quality.
This is good choice for anyone when you visit Dandenong Ranges.
d. h.
Had the beef rendang, spicy but not as hot as they say, chips were nice. A bit pricey mind. Would definitely recommend a visit if your up and around the Dandenong ranges. Last thing, if your in a car that's a bit low, watch as you drive up to the rear of car park, coming off road to the drive, left side of 'Pie in the Sky'. Just take it easy or you'll catch your front valence..
M. K.
It was underwhelming without Table service and staff looked overworked with dirty tables and overflowing bins. Just another pie place now.
C. C. R.
Such a good dining place in the area. Famous with its pies, this become the tourist destination. Come early to avoid the crowd and long line. However, there is a specific line for take away.
D. L.
Nice pies and great establishment .. I just wish the pies were bigger.
K. K.
I've been here many times before & I use to love it!!however at least 3 or so years since my last visit. I had a tandoori pie with chips and salad @$22 seems a little steep & you don't get table service!! The pie was ok, not the same!
S. W.
Average only. Pies were small and I felt not toasted enough. Crust tasted under cooked / baked (even though cooked).
P. L.
Pastry is done really well. However, its not as good as it use to be. Had the beef burgundy , small bits of meat and not much flavour.
L. G.
Pies are decent. Skip the floater though, not the best pea soup I've had.
K. K.
Its a good pie place. Not the first time visiting, almost always end up eating here.
M. W.
Definitely love their pies. Chicken mushroom and chunky beef were the best. Was not a fan of the sausage roll. Staff were friendly and prompt.
N. G.
Great variety of pies to choose from as well as a few options on how they're served. I usually choose peas and mash to go with my pie. Certainly not the best pies I've ever tasted but definitely worth the drive for the variety. There are a few interesting shops nearby so it's a good way to waste an afternoon browsing through the shops with the a belly full of pie.
G. A.
We had a few different pies. Our favourite was the Chicken Korma, we even bought an extra to take home with us. The cherry pie was a little bit sour for our taste but still very nice. We look forward to returning and trying a few more.
沐.
Dine in, wait a little bit long for the food but it was totally worth it. Yummy pies!! Great portion as well. Recommended !
M. B.
I had a very good time eating here. The waiter Will was really efficient and he had no problem serving food on time. The cheese pie was delicious. I went here with my family and we couldn't be happier! My "mom" even insisted that I take this photo with Will and his other friend. Everyone in my table likes his service. They encourage me to come again next time!
N. A.
A good range of quality pies including now gluten free pies. I highly recommend the tandoori pie.
C. L.
I have posted before that they had "Nice pies... good range" But when I went back in a few weeks later...my pie was served with few shreads of salads. It's like an afterthought... Look at the quantity of the salads! That's disappointingly. They should have make a greater effort or not serve the salads at all... For that reason I need to cut back my score by one star.
J. H.
Wonderful atmosphere! And deserved price, delicious pie! Highly recommend!
J. Q.
Tasty pies in a beautiful area, one of the best places, try their Vanilla slice!
Yumm
M. R.
Taste pies although they are a soft crust pie not firm . Usually I prefer firm but each to their own
E. L.
Pie is good, specially the rendang pie. But due to popularity of this place, come early or just takeaway.
a. f.
Pie in the Sky is always great and today it was a little rainy and not busy at all which was awesome! This may have to become a rainy day ritual! :)
S. H. V.
The pies here taste good, worthy of the Gold metal it got. Since Mt Dendenong is a cool nice place to have picnic, e.g. Dandenong Ranges botanic Garden . It make economic sense to buy take away pies here and have nice picnic at the beautiful Garden .Take away price for pies is much cheaper than din in price. This is also to avoid the long queue for seats on weekends n holidays
I. W.
Pies are good here, not sure if the salad was a piss take on my behalf - or a genuine attempt at garnishing the plate.
Aside from that and the long wait for the meal to come out - I’d give them another chance!
A. O.
Hmm, overrated.
A big range of pies and plenty of signs saying how great they are but I wasn't impressed.
I chose the beef and kidney pie. No kidney, some beef. Gelatinous gravy - but the carrot was tasty. Pastry was just ok.
My partner's chicken and mushroom pie was quite tasty but nothing more.
At least the salad was fresh and generous and chips were hot.
The place has a "bus tours" feel, IMO!
R. T.
Best meat pies in town with plenty of awards under their belt. The French vanilla pieces are pretty good too!
D. B.
The beef rendang pie was just delicious. The service was fantastic too. Very friendly.
C. G.
Good food, Best Pie. High speed Wi-Fi. Love to dine here.
t. t.
Service was really great had some lovely waitresses which were super helpful! Food wasn't great though! Four of us ordered various pies and none of them were good. Needed more flavouring. Most of us doused our pies in tomato sauce, salt or pepper so it would taste like something.
J. K.
Many times we visited this place and love the pies here. Unfortunately, our lately visited the taste and quality of pies were changed😔
T. K.
Their pies standard has slipped, very ordinary compared to as recent as 4 months ago.. disappointed really
L. Y. N.
Good old pie, yummy and delish. Simple done well. Friendly staff too
D. L.
Many varieties of pies with or without spicy. We went there on Thursday afternoon for lunch and we feel comfort and with good staff service.
I. a. R.
Delious pie with fresh green been & porato. I loved it.
S. R.
Came here with a large group of family. Everyone loved what they ordered, and the service was great.
I. C.
Lunch - enjoy relaxing time with good weather and Gold medal pie

Best pie 🥧 and positive and health vibes at Olinda

Holy smoke!
These pies are the Duck's guts.
Standard mince beef or premium diced beef, they are beautifully cooked and delicious. I like to eat a hot one on the spot and then take home a few cold ones.
The drive up to Olinda and the view are half the fun - the pies are the final part of the deal.
Beef, bacon & cheese is a must!
L. S.
The pie is delicious, first time try
S. T.
I have been a customer at Pie in the Sky for 2 years now and I have never been disappointed so far. The pies are great and there is plenty of other food to choose from, so a visit never gets boring. The restaurant is tidy, clean and well organized. It can get very crowded at times but the staff seems to be handling it pretty well. 5/5 stars for Pie in the Sky.
D. W.
The pies in here are delicious. Pastry is some of the nicest I've tasted in the Melbourne area. Fluffy scones and nice atmosphere. Don't order the Cornish pasty and expect anything authentic though. As nice as it was it's fraudulent to call it a Cornish pasty. Delicious guys but please check out a recipe for the filling! Not even close! Someone got the produce lists mixed up!
P. G.
Beautiful atmosphere and the pies were to die for and have won many awards for their delicious pies 😋. Staff were very polite and friendly. Highly recommend you go there if you're in the neighborhood 😀
T. R.
The pies here are quite good. There are a variety of flavours on offer, and they offer decent value for money.
G. M.
Superb pies and efficient staff. With a large family group we were promptly seated and presented with our ordered meals in moments. My pie and fries were delicious and I would gladly eat here again. With a wide variety of pies and cakes available, suitable for eating in or to go, Pie in the Sky’s offering is well worth a look.
A. K.
Award winning pie. Perfect comfort food after spending some activities around the area. They can get quite busy during lunch time though. Avoid bringing pram inside if possible.
Z.
Love the tasty award-winning pies, scones and cakes. The restaurant is a stone's throw from nearby Rhododendron Gardens.
S. A.
the pies are truly awesome and the staff are great. great surroundings
S. K.
+ great taste …
+ wide range of options, including vegetarian and gluten free ...
+ great vibe …
I highly recommend this place, these folks know their stuff!
They have amazing pies, perhaps the best pie I ever had. I highly recommend the Burgundy one (slow cooked beef with mushroom). Also, the staff are friendly too.
BTW, right on the other side of the road there’s a great chocolate place—the signature iced chocolate is highly recommended.
M. H.
Milk shake was just milk and woollies $2 topping, Aussie beef pie wasn't great, I've had better 4 n 20 pies from 7-11. Might have been an off day
ツ.
Best pies in Australia 🥧 I really recommend going here and ordering the cheese pie.
D. S.
Fantastic pies. We had the pumpkin pie, tandori chicken and korma chicken pie. I would say the best we have had for pies. Beautiful pastry and delicious flavors with generous fillings. Try the pumpkin pie if you are vegetarian.
However this place is always busy and its difficult to get a table. Best to takeaway and have it outdoors in the fresh air.
K. T.
Oh my gosh, best pies you can buy in a store by a long shot. You must go for the Cornish Pastie, in my opinion it’s actually better than the pies. I came back here three days in a row, crazy I know. The service is great too, get take away if you want to avoid the tourist scene and save a dollars. Trust me, I know a good pie, and they do too.
S. F.
Been there 2 times now and I believe I now have a more rounded opinion of this place. The atmosphere is nice, though can be quite crowded during lunch times, and the customer service is quite good. The only draw back is the pies themselves. Don't get me wrong they aren't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it just doesn't live up to the hype of "best pies in Victoria".
I'd recommend trying two pies instead of having it with peas and mash and the scones here are some of the best I've tried.
Overall, a good pie place (maybe even great) but not worth going out of your way for.
J. W.
We had a cheeky takeaway pie lunch as it was too busy to sit in. (I now understand why it was so busy). My bf had the beef curry pie and I had the spinach and feta. Both claimed they had won numerous gold medals, and can I just say, those medals are 100% well deserved. Those pies were absolutely delicious. We finished it off by sharing a cherry pie for dessert which blew our socks off in equal measure. On a side note though, out the front there is a sign that said "voted best pies by That's Life magazine"... don't let the questionable credibility of said publication put you off (I'm glad we only saw that afterwards). These pies really are great.
J. M.
Pie in the sky is a great restaurant that does one thing really well and sticks with it. It's pies are prize winning and it's easy to see why. They exemplify the simple side of culinary pleasure with pies and basic sides done in a delicious and effective way. The location is also perfect - near some very quaint shops full of curiosities and also a good place to start a walk in the beautiful surrounding.
A. T.
We were given menu's when seated but the staff failed to let us know, we had to order at the front. It was quite obvious we weren't paying attention but a good business with plenty of staff on the floor could've assisted. Anyways when the food arrived it looked okay, taste wise thereabouts not exceptional. Coffee was good tho and the hot choc was good too but I think Ocka pies in Bayswater is far better.
S. Y.
The pies are reasonably priced, between $5.50-$6. However, I find that the quality can be inconsistent at times. Sometimes the pies would taste great, as the award-winning pies they advertise. Other times, the pies would taste as good as pie from 7/11. (Not saying 7/11 pies are bad, but if you're paying a premium price, it probably should be better ;) )
Speaking of premium price, if you wish to sit inside or even outside, it costs on average an extra $2 per pie. So you're looking at about $8 for a pie. Bit ridiculous from my point of view. They usually tell you off if you sit outside and you have purchased a 'take-away' pie.
Would recommend the Beef Rendang pie though, if you can handle the spice!
A. R.
We purchased takeaway pies, sausage rolls and rhubarb crumble for pour evening dinner. Everything was devine. This is also a restaurant which had casual charm about it. The staff were great. There was even little strips of printed instructions for reheating in the box. My husband thought the plain pie was the best he has ever eaten. He wondered if we could buy some and put them in the freezer for work day lunches.
K. G.
Oh my, the smell from this place is beautiful. We took home some pies and they were amazing. Pastry was like crispy butter and the fillings where light and tasty. Best pies I think we have ever had.
S. D.
Best pie 🥧 and positive and health vibes at Olinda
M. T.
Great award winning pies. Crispy pastry it's delicious. The filling is great too. The pie floater is good. The beef rendang pie is very good. They have frozen ones for take away to be reheated. One thing to note: It can get very busy with tourist buses stopping by on the weekends, they don't take reservations, so definitely go early. There are lots of tables but still the wait can be quite long depending on the day. They also allow dogs to be seated outside.
H. H.
Three words for you - Delicious delicious delicious! This place has stepped it up in my pie world with such a variety, friendly staff, options to buy cold and ore heat at home (with little instructions in your neatly packed parcel), bloody busy but staff are attentive and always willing to assist in all of your pie needs and Enquiries. Pie pie 👋🏼
W. T.
Great place, great pies!
K. L.
We tried going on Monday which was the public holiday, the line was down the street so we ended up coming back on Tuesday. It was still busy buy we got a table straight away. I got the beef curry pie with chips and salad. The pie pastry was delicious and the pie had huge pieces of beef in it. I just wish they offered a regular curry pie, I didn't read the menu properly which is my fault but all I seen was curry pie and I was sold. It tasted like something out of an Indian restaurant. The flavour was a bit overbearing by the end of it. I'm going to go again and try the plain beef pie. My husband got the beef and Guinness pie floater which he devoured.
M. D. Z.
Pretty good pretty good! Pies are very nice! Could be a little larger, and the pastry could be more flaky/buttery... But very good still!
R. O.
Tasty, tasty pies. With such tasty pies comes high popularity. This place is an institution in The Hills and on weekends it is chockers. If you wish to sit in, be prepared to wait for a table and note that table service attracts a surcharge over take away pies. Ask other patrons which line they are in too, as there are queues for a table, to order and for take away purchases and this simple question could save you some time!
But again, very tasty pies!
B. C.
Very good pies, can be hard to get a table though, service is fine but if you are seated out of the way, you can sometimes find it hard to get their attention. Tables and seats are very close together. Chips are good too, pie floater with a beef curry pie is awesome.
K. K.
If you like pie this is the place to go. Even though it was very crowded during lunch time we got seated in 15 min and food in another 20. Prices are fine. Pies tasty. What else do you need 😉
T. Z.
Great food, friendly service, and a very nice place for lunch. Good selection of pies, plus salad and chips options. Sit inside or on the verandah, or you can opt for takeaway. Plenty of parking out the back. Busy on a sunny Sunday. We have eaten there quite a few times, happy to recommend the place.
T. M.
Their beef burgundy pie is, quite frankly, one of my favorite pies of all time. That being said, the staff aren't the friendliest. I recommend buying takeaway to avoid the premium for their indoor seating.
R. J.
Not as good as I remembered - way too busy on the weekends for me. Great selection of food and there is definitely something for everyone. Split pea and ham soup could've been much thicker as it turned the pie floater into a pie sinker. The one stair case to get to the sitting area was regularly blocked by people waiting for a seat.
The younger staff also looked stressed by the number of people.
J. M.
Good to very good quality pies. The secret is to buy late afternoon when they clear the Bain marie with $3 pies. Great to take home.
Overall a little above average pies but not the best I've eaten.
S. M.
Loved the Beef Rendang pie. Great price 5.50. Don't bother eating in though. It's an extra 2.50 and there are plenty of nice spots to sit outside and enjoy your pie. Some people have said the service was slow, however my pie arrived in a few minutes after ordering
P. C.
I used to love this place. It's changed. The pies, to eat-in, are now expensive. And there is no more table service, apart from delivery post order and payment. And they don't taste as good as they used to. The gravey is bland. The beef burgundy is still my favourite. Maybe I'm just getting older. But they used to bee packed with people, now not so much.
S. G.
A little disappointed! Microwaved pies, service very ordinary. Wiped down tables after every customer but not condiments (sauce)..
Has definitely declined.
N. K.
Pies were yummy, not sure they are the best I've ever had but still pretty good, the filling was chunky and the pastry was crunchy, the chips and gravy were nice, also got coffee which was nice. The cafe was cozy and the staff were friendly, the tables were a little close together, the food came in a reasonable amount of time.
D. G.
Finally went after so long and I'm so glad I did go! It was so good, with such a nice variety of food and meat pie types - and of course options for those who don't want meat pies. The staff were so friendly, even when it was closing time they let people finish their meals in peace. Highly recommended!
J. L.
Beef & mushroom pie had mince which makes it hard to justify the price. The filling was not particularly tasty, and the pastry was standard like from a supermarket freezer. I like my pies with chunks of meat and lots of flaky pastry that goes everywhere. They don't really have that here. Chicken pie was OK as well. Beef curry pie was an improvement but not enough for 4 stars.
M. T.
I've taken a lot of visitors here over the years, and on three separate occasions this year.
Their views this year are
Pro's:
Pies are very good (they have been for years).
Cons:
Seating a bit cramped
Pricey (for what it is)
No HP sauce (for your $7.50 pie)
Devonshire tea. Scones arrived 10 mins after the tea and had been heated up in a microwave (can't think of any other reason they were so spongy with no crustiness). My guests were very disappointed with that at $13.50 per serve.
I'll not take anyone else there.
W. L.
Used to be good, exceptional pies with variety - I love both dinning in and take away. However it's getting too touristy, customer service is just soso. Price is a bit too high with that overcrowded space, atmosphere, and average food. Maybe it's worth going only in weekdays.
T. F.
Such a great place to have pies
They have very good choices and we tried 3 of them and loved every single one of them
Great taste - great customer service - great location
A place not to miss
Will definitely be back
H. S.
I really enjoyed the Beef Rendang pie, friendly staff and the restaurant was very clean.... please give it a try really good pies.
T. R.
Haven't eaten on store but have bought pies to take away. Have enjoyed the pies bought here. Good flavour. Cafe looks pleasant and friendly - I should actually stay and eat. :-)

Great place, always busy with Tourists. I suggest having the Beef Guinness pie as this is my fave and all round favourite from the locals.
There are two lines, one for dine-in and one for take-away. Prices are reasonable if purchasing the pie, however, can get pricey with all the add-ons. The Mega Milkshakes make it worth getting a milkshake!
M. C.
Pie in the sky is a fantastic place for a delicious pie. The restaurant has a cosy decor and great customer service. Beside the warm and fluffy pies, there is also great coffee offered. Despite being a bit far from home, it's definitely worth a drive.
B. J.
Devonshire Tea was excellent.
Service very good.
Menu sounds great
Economical, practical set up "pay before you eat" leads to double dealing with stairs if seated before you pay.
Uncomfortable, if you are of an age, have a disability, or a difficulty with stairs.
B. S.
I do love this place and the pie options, in particular the floater! But I always find the over crowdedness is a little off putting. Staff are friendly enough I guess but nothing to rave about. It could be so much better for such a popular spot with the tourists
E. M.
Decent pie, delicious wedges but they are severely understaffed and the wait time for table service was just unreasonable. It's very frustrating to wait 30 minutes after ordering at the counter just so that they can deliver a pie on a plate, when people ordering the same for takeaway are in-and-out smartly. Avoid the lunch rush at all costs.
b. k.
The best pie I've eaten. Made with real chunks of meat n veggie that u can see n chew. Unlike those u get in supermarket or elsewhere where theres only gravy.
Wishing that they sell in frozen packs for takeaway home
R. L.
Highly recommend! It's no wonder the queue was out the door for dine in! Good variety of food and pies were excellent. Don't forget to try the scones with jam and cream also! Prices were very reasonable also. Will return!
M.
Love the korma chicken pie. Take away is $5.50 which is amazing. However, since the last 2 times, they have been running out of korma pies around 2pm and I had to buy tandoori instead which is not bad either but not as good as korma.
N. A.
I was there over the weekend and we had chicken curry and beef pie!
They were amazing not only fresh but also delicious, also I had a FW which was a really good coffee!
Thanks guys. Your team is amazing.
L. K.
It is not just the pie but also the nice windy drive up Olinda mountains that makes this trip such a lovely experience. With a warm homestead feel, a sit down for a pie, chips and salad never tasted this good.
K. S.
Great service and very tasty pies. The pea and ham soup with the pie floater is very good. Their ristretto was also quite good.
S. N.
Recommend the spinach and feta pie.
The steak gourmet pie is no surprise, rather average compare to other places.
The pie floater- pie on pea and ham soup with scoop of mashed potato on top- is very fulfill, in term of the thickness of the soup. Taste wise, it's rather tasteless. No offense but it's true.
Overrated by this name, not worth a 20 minutes wait and the long trip if you just want an awarded pie.
N. M.
Very impressed with service, atmosphere and yummy pies served with a selection of sides, very family friendly good meal at good prices. Thumbs up! This was my first time here, will definitely be coming back!
C. B.
Great atmosphere but the pies took far too long to come out. I've been literally waiting 40 minutes, still nothing has come out yet!
To be continued...
Edit: came out 45 mins late, waitress offered complimentary coffee so I've bumped the rating to 4 stars (from 3).
J. H.
The beef burgundy pie had the right level of beef and juices!!
S. L. B.
Awesome food with a welcoming family friendly atmosphere. The staff are efficient and friendly. Make sure to allow at least 15 minutes to wait for a table. Prices are in line with bistros. Take away pies are cheaper than eating in.
S. W.
Good value for money, very busy on the weekends but was worth the 10 minute wait to get a table. Super efficient service. Both the pies and pastries are a must try. Absolutely incredible
s. a.
Nice place to have a breakfast meal
L. B.
Pie in the mouth more like haha all jokes aside not bad five sta rs
S. C.
Didn't expect to enjoy the curry pie but it was really great. Seated service is kind of bad and costs extra so just take it away and eat elsewhere. Like everywhere else along this tourist road, it gets disgustingly busy during the holidays so get in early or be prepared to queue
D. S.
These are the best pies ever!
K. C.
Good pie, but no dine-in at the moment
S. G.
If you want a great pie (or 20), then this is the place. Simple seating, nothing grand, but really good pies. Not sure about access for the less able as several mezzanines and stairs between them.
L. L.
Best pie and scones I have tried.
The quality and standard is maintained over more than 10 years now.
l. g. t.
Gosh.. Such tasty pies and desserts. We wanted more. Returned from walks but you were closed!!
D. H.
It was ok. Pies were ok not overly special but better than average. We were forced to sit somewhere we didn't want. It was like the staff were organising a moving truck. It wasn't very busy yet they were trying to pack from one side of the room to the other. Lengthy wait for a pie also....
P.
Delicious pies and coffee.
R. K.
Some of the best pies I've ever had with lots of interesting non-standard flavours. Highly recommended :-) service is friendly but a little slow at times.. But then that fits with the relaxed vibe of the surroundings.
A. Q.
Pies were nice... had to wait quite a bit for a table but it was on a long weekend so is kinda understandable. Drinks took quite a while to get to the table some us finish the pies before even getting the drink.
S. W.
Great place, great pies. Try the scones too! Can get a bit busy and slow service during peak hours. Make sure you get here early. Best time is just before lunch time around 10-11am.
S. B.
Great tasting pies. Good open restaurant.
Service is a bit slow. Hopefully quicker attendance can be provided in the up coming holidays. Keep the tasty pies coming!!
S. P.
Service was great and staff was helpful. Lots of choices but the pumpkin pie and chicken pie we tried were dry and bland. This place was probably great in the past but now flavour seems to be lost
A. J.
Had high expectations. Unfortunately the pies were a bit bland so fell flat. They used to make amazing cauliflower pies, but they don't do those anymore so added to the disappointment
R. W.
The pie is good, pastry is just nice and the meat is also full of flavour. Is it the best pie in Melbourne ? I would say no but is it worth the trip and price I would say yes.
J. M.
Pies here tasted great and the staff were very friendly. Prices were very reasonable, just need to overhaul the dine in queue and take away queue because it creates a bottleneck just inside front door.
C. B.
Yummy, high quality pies. The beef rendang pie with chips is delicious! Plenty of parking, great scenic drives to and from the restaurant. Interesting shopping area, antiques and collectibles, lollies, toys. Not far from Sky High and Olinda's Rhododendron gardens..
R. K.
Amazing pies
C. P.
This shop is exactly what a pie shop should be. Quick service. Great selection of pies. Came with sauce. Can't go wrong here
A. Z.
Very delicious pies. May expect long waiting time if you come on holidays.
E. B.
I Love the vegetarian pies especially the spinach and feta and the pumpkin is always super tasty too
S.
Great food and very polite people however they can take quite a bit of time to get things to you even when there is not many people dining 🤷♀️
K. C.
I had the beef rendang pie and chips with gravy. The pie had great flavour and large chunks of beef. The chips were crunchy and the gravy was fantastic. Would definitely eat here again.
C. D.
Be prepared to wait on weekends for both Takeaway or to eat in. The food is really good and it is very popular. The cakes are very delicious. Just need more staff on in the busy times.
S. M.
Loved the pie
r. k.
Lovely busy, cheerful atmosphere, nice setting, speedy service and above all, absolutely delicious pies. Always fresh, wonderfully light and crispy pastry. Love this place!
C. T.
Beef pie was a bit dry the crust was not crispilly tasty chicken & mushroom pie, chicken tandoori pie were good. Overall positive experience for our visiting guests.
V. B.
Beautiful pies, nice service, thank you!
J. L.
Very friendly staff, pies are super delicious.1 star down as water bottles are not clean and u can see marks from previous customers.
C. C.
Quaint place, rather cosy setting. The pies were delicious, chips were crispy. Service was quick. Place is clean. Will definitely go again.
A. G.
Great experience, great pies always busy and crowded.
V. R.
Good pies , parking not free anymore , your car could get towed away if not careful , used to go to this place many times a year with family, will avoid it from now on. It could turn into a very expensive and annoying lunch !!
C. B.
Went on a Sunday afternoon, had a short wait for a table. Meals and drinks were quick after ordering. Can see why they have won so many awards.
V.
Enjoyed their famous Pie Floater & a Chicken Tandoori Pie with peas, gravy & mash... As usual - very nice & fresh - service was a bit slow but to be fair it was very very busy on a Wednesday lunchtime on a beautiful day... Recommended... 😋
M.
Dirty tables and average pies
C. M.
Pies were very nice but a bit small. Also slow service. Watch out for parking. Not the fault of the cafe, but evil body corporate making things difficult.
G. L.
Good selection of pies for eat in and also take away. Friendly service. And don't forget the desserts , from Apple pies to cheesecakes
J. L.
Great pies at reasonable prices. The restaurant has a welcoming cottage decor. It is a very popular place with parking to the rear which is ticketed
S. Y.
They charge more for dining in but there's no table service. Out of stock on most pies when we got there and were asked to wait if we wanted them.
J. O. Y.
Great pies, wish you guys had more seats though! Options for both meat eaters and vegos.
P. P.
Juicy Australian pie (with cheese) and live the ice chocolate (with ice cream)
婷.
Pie is delicious and environment is quiet!
L. A. Z.
The pies are good, but the "belgian" waffle is simple a waffle from Coles reheated, and for 8 dollars.
Just lo for the pies
K. L.
Very busy, but well worth the wait. I'm not much of a pie person but these were really delicious, like home made.
P. S.
Had a pie floater and a cup of hot chocolate and I really enjoyed all of it, the staff were extra friendly and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing.
M. W.
Great traditional pies, good value too!
J. C.
Pies weren't too bad, although for $16.90 you would hope for fresh mash vs dehydrated packet version. Service was good.
C. M.
Unfortunately only 3 stars but I've really got to say great pies great service but let down by very limited free parking for a tiny village in the hills .. Go down the road and free parking and plenty shops and bakery...
G. S.
Lovely pies and desserts, vanilla slice was massive and delicious
Good pricing, friendly staff
A. K.
One of the best pie's I have ever had..! I love the Korma pie. Especially having it hot seated in the car on a cold day ;-)
B. B.
only take away at the moment but food was fantastic and we put a blanket out on the small park beside it and had a great afternoon
J. M.
The view was very pleasant, and the pies live up to the name of the place. However the chips and salad were rather average.
T. M.
Great pies. Probably the best in Melbourne. We were there to buy cold pies to bring back home and put in the oven and we weren't disappointed.
R. P.
Nice place to stop quaint village.👍
D. a.
A bit pricey, and had to wait for a table as it was so busy, but it was worth the wait. Definately one of the best pies I've ever had.
鋼.
Meat pie-Aussie meat and mushrooms, The gravy for mash potatoes was stronger than the meat pie which makes the pie tasteless. But the meat pie Rendand was nice and spicy. A good choice for spicy love.
A. D.
Nice place. Service takes a bit long time, but one forgets that after tasting those wonderful pies & other stuff!!
d. b.
Had a beef burgundy pie and it was amazing. Great place to stop for lunch with helpful friendly staff. I would recommend this place.
B. B.
Waited 45 mins for our order. Pies were good, but i have a VERY good bakery near home so hard to compete.
R. R.
Its December. .. supposed to be summer. It was 9 deg C outside.
Nice area, cosy cafe. Getting there was half the fun.
Food was fine. .. a little better than average. .. but that's my taste.
A.
These pies flew me to the skies alright
S. B.
Great tasting and a wide range of pies. Staff was very friendly.
P.
Best pies and lovely staff. Worth making a trip to this place.
E. S.
Delicious fresh scones - very light and fluffy. A little stingy with the jam but otherwise a perfect Devonshire Tea.
E. V.
It used to be good but the pies seem a bit dry and bland now. I still like their potatoes and gravy.
M. S.
Food was OK. Had the schnitty, salmon and soup. Was missing favour and salmon portions for one mouthful. Area is great though.
A.
Just... Average. The side dishes are thawed and taste like it too. The meat pies are... Okay. Nothing special.
A. P.
Food is great! Just a long que and long wait, need more staff.
T. S. D.
Loved the fix and great atmosphere
V. G.
Pretty average pies, Mrs Macs from a servo are better than this!
Atmosphere was nice, although the wait for the drinks/pies was a bit long
D. J.
A good restaurant Manager and good / better quality control is all that is required to make a great restaurant and maybe consider opening earlier for breakfast and a little latter in summer...it's not rocket science...it's the restaurant business ..keep it simple .and train your staff and work as a team ...
T. S.
Fair prices and nice pie. I had takeout. I would suggest trays and the option of gravy for takeout then I'd give it 4 stars.
M. D.
Best pies I ever tasted. Great coffee too
J. H.
The best pies. I love their Thai chicken. Can get pretty busy on the weekends. Parking can be a real nightmare too!
B. C.
My favorite pie shop. I could have the mashed potato for dessert. Great pies too!!
T. C.
Food was okay - didn't blow my socks off. Paid $13 for a decent pie and chips, but nothing worth writing home about.
P. M.
Bloody awesome pies!!
We had Beef Burgundy, Fetta and Spinach and Pumpkin .. all so tasty!!!
X. (.
Go to place for a plate of warm pie when visiting the dandenongs. Expect a long queue during weekends but always well worth the wait.
M. A. K.
My scones was delicious. My husband had the beef and kidney his favourite and that was delicious
B. M.
I honestly don't think it was as good as it used to be
The pies were a little drier. It could be that were a little late for lunch. So I've still got an open mind.
E. K.
Excellent award winning pie bakery. The service staff are friendly and welcoming.
b. s.
Very busy shop, great pies but go elsewhere if there's tourists lined up out the door
A. B.
The most delicious pepper and steak pie I've had in Australia so far.
D.
I've had a mixture of experiences here. The pies are good. Though not phenomenal. The service is intermittent. But it's so busy, I understand!
K. M.
Had a totally delicious sour cherry tart. Liked the look of the pie menu too.
M. P.
One of the most famous cafe in the Dannedong. The ones are excellent but I particularly loved the cakes and desserts. A must visit!
S. D.
Best pies
B. G.
Pies are amazing, best pies in Victoria. Service is great, but it gets busy so get in early.
J. B.
Had a frustrating visit, both the cheesecake and mississippi mud pie were off of the menu. However, had a great cup of tea
G. A.
Can't say no to a pie, mashed potatoes and peas with gravy
J. M.
Very busy Sunday, 20 min wait for a table. Pies are great. Staff was very helpful
R.
The pies are very very good, in fact the best I have tried anywhere. Dine in was albeit a little on the expensive side but give it a try
L. G.
Perfectly cooked pies & sausage rolls. Best I've had in a long time.
S. L.
Loved the tandori chicken and korma chicken pies ... milkshakes was good as well. But they do charge extra on a public holiday
J. K.
Good pies but needs better service. Staff refused table service seating as early as 4.15pm when the shop shuts at 5pm.
N. D.
The best pies and always busy and bustling with lively and happy people. Reccomend a place to eat all kinds of pies 👍
a. t.
Best scones in the dandenongs. Yes, it's a pie shop, but they have the best scones.
M. A.
Great food and friendly staff, but pick you time to go carefully as there are limited seats if you wish to dine in and that can mean queuing up to get a table.
S. E.
Excellent pies. The chips could have been crisper. Still highly recommended
B. F.
The cheese and the burgundy pies are just wonderful. Flavourful and reasonably priced.
J. T.
Best pie ive ever eaten.
Top notch innit
M. M.
We loved the meal at Pie in the Sky Olinda, service was great. But I do think their needs to be more than two toilets ,for the amount of people that go there. There was quite a queue waiting to go .
L. D.
Maim course pies were excellent. Service excellent. Desert apple pie just good but not good value for money.
M. D.
Ordered chicken schnitzel - menu described it aschicken breast schnitzel. Turned out to be processed chicken. When queried, waitress said packaging described it as chicken breast. SO disappointed, and dishonest to hide behind erroneous labelling. Never again
J. M.
Average pie, high price, dry with gravy extracost, must be better elsewhere.
L. F.
Delicious pies which live up to their reputation
M. P.
The best Aussie pie place I have ever been too! Wish they would sale a recipe book
R. L.
Great service, friendly atmosphere. Home made, delicious pies, including a variety of selection.

H. A.
I purchased a few Pies for a takeaway order. Pies and service were very nice and selection was good.
A. H.
Such a brilliant little cafe, it always busy so you often have to wait for a table, but it’s worth it. We make the trip out just for this place.
W. T.
Loved the flavoursim pies, the floater in particular 🥰 cannot wait to go back!
B. W.
They do what they say, nice pies with good sides. Quaint, comfortable and cosy interior with friendly staff.

A. K.
Excellent pies, good service and neat aesthetic
J. H.
Best pies and sausage rolls around, and a great selection of hot sauce!
R. H.
Food is ok and nice indoor dining area, but not happy with the price paid for a small coffee that was mediocre.
T. T.
Pies and Cornish Pasties were absolutely delicious!!
Service was prompt, friendly and efficient.
T. h.
The best pie in town, have a lot of different types and favour of pies.
J. H.
Good choice of pies and side dishes. Very homely atmosphere. Friendly staff

Great tasting pies, good service and lovely atmosphere on a lovely day!
A. S.
Good meat pies and deserts. Parking, credit cards accepted. Stop and enjoy your break

Pies are PDG.
D. B.
Seriously awesome veggie pastie and pumpkin pie. Highly recommend this joint.
P. M.
Great food and staff. Has been consistently good for many years.

Tasty food, reasonable prices. I had a vegetarian pastie and an ice coffee and it was delicious
T. L.
The best take away pies in the world. Shame about the bus loads of asians who try and jump the long queue on weekends
m. w.
Although I didnt try the delicious looking food, I'm giving you 4 stars for not making a fuss about my wife using the toilet without buying anything 👍
R. M.
Service was a bit slow and a lot of stock was unavailable, but what we did have was delicious and worth the wait.
T. H. B.
Delicious, award winning pies in Olinda. Great place to stop for lunch.
K. T.
Quite busy place for a weekdays. Decent pies and friendly staff

Pies are very average, at designer prices. Cost almost $20 for one pie and a hot chocolate.
S. D.
Great pies a must visit when up in the dandenongs. Taking a classic and making it gourmet
J. C.
Cosy place. It's away from the trendiness of Melbourne and shows a cosy and warm environment and serves good pies reminiscent of Adelaide.
A. P.
Best meat pies in Melbourbe.
Y. Y.
ordinary taste, but good price
Y. A.
Great pies. Might be better if it had a bit more gravy in the pie.
P. D.
Good food, good price. Be prepared to queue as it's popular at lunchtime
P. C.
Really enjoyable lunch with friendly staff and yummy pies!
T. M.
The food is excellent, but you wait a long time for service, and it's always very busy.

Fantastic traditional pie shop, set in the leafy ranges.
S. L.
Quality pie for dine-in or takeaway
