The best spot for coffee and cake in Melbourne. Have been back a few times to try all the cakes! My favourite cake so far would definitely be the strawberry shortcake. The cafe does get quite busy on the weekends and even on weekday afternoons. While the matcha here is delicious, it’s also quite strong, so beware if you are sensitive to caffeine!

Hidden laneway bakery offering cute treats and great coffee and matcha. Cakes tasted average for their price. Although they can get busy, little seating is offered even though they have the room space. However, Tori’s antique furniture and setting gives off a comforting and classy vibe.

Tori’s 🍰 - Caramel Pumpkin Tart $8 🎃 - Matcha cheesecake $10.5 🍵 🧀 - Corn cheesecake $9 🌽 🧀 - Hojicha $7 ☕️ I wasn’t impressed at my first visit because the bundt cakes were dry. However this second visit was definitely worthy. That Halloween special Pumpkin Tart was droolicious🤤 I love that combination of pumpkin purée, dark caramel and pumpkin cream! Their corn cheesecake was mind blowing ! I didn’t know corn works so well with cheesecake. That sweetness from the corn complimented so well with the cheese. Matcha cheesecake was rich and creamy!!Love this cute dessert spot!

Went to this place during lockdown because I've been seeing their profile on instagram and would love to visit this little cute cafe some day. Bought 2 iced drink and 4 pieces of cakes which the drink were nice and tasty. But the cakes, I was a bit disappointed. • Madeline was average nothing special just the yuzu glaze on top. • Macademia toffee cake; the caramelized nuts on top was good but the texture of the cake was so dry and very crumbly. • Last, burnt cheesecake which we bought the original flavour and Matcha flavour, the texture was also on the dry side, it tastes like the cake hasn't been baked fresh everyday and has been put in the fridge for few days already. I also would like to make some suggestion about the cakes showcase, with the Pandemic, corona virus and everything going on at the moment. There should be something cover up your cakes because on the day that I came in, many types of the cakes was un-covered and show next to the register where customer will come in, make an order and talk to the staff over the cakes. Just a bit more hygienic to think about.

If you haven't check out Tori's yet, you're missing out. Vintage decor and solid hues adds to the charm of this cosy spot on Niagara Lane. Here you'll find a variety of delicious house made sweet treats, and one of the best matcha latte around. Love the madeleines that comes in different flavours such as matcha + pistachio , orange blossom + yuzu, rose + ginger, and dark chocolate, and also the various rich and decadent cheesecakes. There also also scones, cakes and dacquiose too - you'll be spoilt for choice here!

I've been here twice and you have to know what to order. Recommend: strawberry shortcake Don't recommend: basque cheesecake 1) Got the black sesame basque cheesecake takeaway as it was a full house. $10.50 was really not worth it as it was such a tiny slice if you don't count the 30% of the size that's just cream with a bit of cream cheese. It didn't resemble basque cheesecake at all as it was so dry and crumbly. It also had no black sesame flavour. This one was a big miss unfortunately. 2) Had the strawberry shortcake ($9.5) which was perfect, SO delicious and fresh. Managed to get a seat and the inside is so nice and welcoming to have a breather. You really don't get the feeling of being rushed. The staff were also friendly. Cake prices are highhhh but not atypical amongst this type of cafe (unfortunately), and the quality is there if you pick the right item.

This is a newly opened cafe. I tried their pistachio and apricot crumble, it was pretty good with a strong milky taste to it. Black sesame cream cheese cake is really yummy and their madeleines are spectacular! Do try their strawberry milk drink too, it’s very nice.

Cozy spot, lovely staff, heaps of beautiful cake/sweets options. Black sesame basque cheesecake had a sizeable mound of whipped cream which was lovely. Banoffee tart was excellent as well. Both cakes not overpoweringly sweet. Can't wait to go again to try their other cakes and beverages!

With a pastel colored theme and vintage deco, this place is nearly too cute to be true! ❤️: Could not get over how delicious the Madeleines were. Assorted flavors available, including a 🍊🍋 citrus flavor (so fragrant, my favorite!), 🍫 chocolate, and 🍵 matcha. Other bakeries featured included an array of 🍰 cheesecakes, from matcha to black sesame. Also couldn’t help but buy the 🎃 Pumpkin Cardamom Crumble. Which would you pick?

My friend recommended Tori’s cafe to me a while ago and I have just made time to go and grabbed some desserts (mash mellow cookies, brownies and matcha cake). Those three that I ordered are amazing, full of flavors, aroma, and texture. You will never go wrong with Tori’s. Lastly I will definitely go back to try other desserts and drinks.

Super cafe with a vintage vibe. It’s a great place to sit down have a coffee and cake and chat. The only thing is they get busy so you can’t stay for too long. They will ask you to leave! This doesn’t offend me that much. It’s just a little awkward!

Gorgeous hidden artesian Cafe. My latte was smooth and strong, it had a great balance with the delicious desserts! Loooved the vintage vibes. Can sit comfortably alone to read a book or with someone to accompany you. Will be visiting again !!!

Tried a hojicha bundt with matcha ganache, and a soft rum chocolate cake. Both were really delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. However, I couldn't really taste the tea flavour in the bundt, and I felt the nuts on top overpowered the taste of the rest of the cake. The chocolate cake was really moist and nice, but I felt it was quite a regular (although delicious!) chocolate cake and the rum didn't really come through. Service was great, really nice and friendly. I look forward to trying their scones next time.

Tucked behind a laneway, as a lot of the chic cafes around Melbourne are, Tori’s offers a smooth, retro and minimal aesthetic that’s eye-candy to anyone visiting. Specialty items include Matcha, Houjicha and Genmaicha, all of which are high quality and rich in flavour, unlike other places that use lower quality matcha powder. The pastries and other sweet items on the menu are also a treat, particularly the cheesecake as well as the matcha madeleines.

Super busy when we went. The houjicha was very creamy although a bit on the sweet side for me, and the matcha was relatively strong (Althought personally I would have liked mine even stronger) The brownie and matcha cheesecake were delicious too! Will be back to try other sweets and treats

Went this morning and the matcha lattes were great. Unfortunately, the cakes and desserts were disappointing given the price point. For $5 per madeleine they were hard and dry and tasted a bit off, not freshly baked. The same was felt in the cream for the shortcake and the cheesecake also tasted a bit off. It was a first visit for the two of us who bought separate boxes but had a similar disappointing experience. Hopefully is just a one-off thing.

Cute modern korean cafe with asian flavours brought into their desserts while still maintaining some classics. A good variety of tarts and cheesecakes and madelines. Drinks offered from coffee to various teas (houjicha, matcha, and genmaicha). Corn Crumble Cheescake 4/5 - Cheesecake was nice and silky, biscuit base was nice and buttery and not dry, yet still added a bit of texture to the overall cheesecake. While smooth and creamy, the 1 point deduction would be that I wish the corn flavour shined more. Definitely on the subtle side, but when the corn becomes pronounced, it offers a nice freshness of the natural sweetness of corn. The top charred corn bits also provided texture and more flavour. The also added some type of microgreens in there which i liked. Genmaicha 4/5 - lovely latte and very fragrant. The genmaicha flavours were evident and was perfect. A mark deduced as it is on the sweeter side. Overall would love to come back to Toris to try more items.

Vegans: you can celebrate-- I visited on the soft opening and there are TWO types of friand-style cakes at Tori's to be tried. I had the Hazelnut coffee (coffee was not overpowering) there's also a blueberry. They also served me a beautiful soy matcha and came to ask about sugar levels in the cakes. Can't wait to go back post-lockdown 5 and sit in the retro interior, it's so chill. Tori have their own blend of coffee roasted just for them that's a 50/50 split of two locations -- colombian and something else I've forgotten. Really gentle on the palate though and great for cake combo. The old SunMoth/Superbus... I missed it so much but now I can be happy again. The space has been well-honoured with this new cafe opening. Get there before you have to book for seating :p

Newly opened cafe in Nigara Lane, it blends history with the modernity of Melbourne , being in the oldest laneaway the cafe interior is both vintage and modern; with warm and friendly staff, and delicious pastries , I highly recommend their Madeleines and Basque Cheesecake , perfect place to relax over a good coffee and homemade pastries , if you haven’t tried it already give them a go, the city needed a cafe like Tori’s and they do not disappoint. Good pastries , good coffee , good people , good vibes.

A small Laneway bakery that opened during Lockdown 5.0 and have been trending ever since for their delicious baked treats and cakes, and beautiful vintage and antique aesthetic. (And their velour take away coffee cup!) I have tried all the small baked treats, the madeleines are my fave! I still have some cakes I haven’t tried but my fave so far is the Banoffee Pie and Sesame cheesecake. They’re very creamy and not too sweet! Staff are also amazing and friendly, and related to the famous Humble Rays cafe in Carlton.

I have never really been into cafes and I don’t even drink coffee, but Tori’s is such a beautiful place that I go there religiously on Wednesdays and Fridays each week. The atmosphere and mood they have set there is amazing, people usually don’t talk too loud while jazz or lofi music play in the background, creating a relaxed and calm environment. It is also the perfect place to go study as many people who go are seen. I love how they set up the place, it’s not your regular commercial cafe with tables set up everywhere as it is mostly couches that you sit on. I also love how they never let the place get crowded and for me personally I couldn’t care less how long I’d have to wait to get a seat. Now for the main part, their food/drinks. For someone who isn’t a big coffee drinker I quite like their drinks, more specifically their mocha, I tried matcha for the first time there and for me personally it wasn’t that great but that’s only because matcha has a very unique and strong flavour too it that might take time to get you’d to. I’ve had a few of their chocolate cakes which has always been nice but I don’t know what this new chocolate cake (in photo) was called but it blew me away. Nice and rich with flavour, it is a bit dense but it was never a deterrent from how beautiful it tasted and perfectly paired with the cream put on top. In summary some food/drinks are decent and some are to die for, but the thing that keeps me coming back every time is the amazing atmosphere and kind staff. For me Tori’s is my happy place and I couldn’t think of anywhere else in the city I’d gladly come back to each day.
