Comments of Bowan Island Bakery Drummoyne

This has been my local for 21 years-David runs a pretty sharp shop-staff are polite and friendly. French toast second generation is super! Coffee of course is very solid otherwise I would not turn up :) I would appreciate a electronic loyalty program but now I am quibbling in the margins. It can get busy so time your visit.
Ps. Some complimentary wifi would also beneficial for those without 4G/5G data.

I've yet to be disappointed here. Generally this is a pit stop for me and a take away, although I have eated in a few times. The quiches are melt in the mouth delicious and the filo's really tasty and fresh. Good coffee too.
Sometimes, it is difficult to find a park and they are not dog friendly (probably a council thing?) There is a pet parlour next door, which will mind your dog at a small cost if you don't want to leave them behind, which you have a quick bite to eat.

I’ve been getting my coffee from Bowan Island for over 12 years now, absolutely the best coffee. If I’m not in the area during the week, I still drive all the way to Drummoyne to get my cappuccino from here. Food is sensational and the staff are lovely. Highly recommend this cafe.

The coffee was good and they are open early but the food was disappointing. We ordered the bacon and egg roll on Turkish with Bbq sauce and a coffee. It came out quick and the bread was lovely but the Bbq sauce was forgotten and the bacon over cooked.

Really nice muffins but what's with the attitude of some staff? Just today, the lady taking orders looked very sour with no communication, may as well be a machine. Then I go back up to politely ask for some water and she rolls her eyes at me, no acknowledgement, grabs the water, again no words. Bad customer service is surely affecting business here

I bought a sausage roll, coffee & 2 cakes, take- out, for the first time yesterday. Coffee was good, sausage roll was awesome....but the guy did not understand English very well and put the wrong cakes in my box. The box had no lid so they melted and because squashed very quickly. I will give it another try and check next time and insist on a lid.

Food is always good. Raspberry Oat muffins are sensational. Coffee is average at best. Milk was burnt and poorly textured. Beans have an interesting taste - not unpleasant but not great either
C. B.
This was a really nice bakery. The food was delectable and the service was delightful. This is what bakeries everywhere should aspire to be. And the music was quite pleasent.

Good coffee outlet. Have eaten here previously pre-COVID as well, quality brunch options

Not bad. Busy. Coffee is good. We had the meat pie and breakfast pie - which was warmed up in what we think it was a microwave, meaning it came out soft and limp. The meat pie was warm and crispy and real good. Service was prompt.

Coffee is always excellent. Can get very busy but the service is quick, efficient and friendly. Good chicken pies. They do a scroll that once had many raisins in it and now is all bread so I don't buy those anymore.

Great food, nice staff, great

This is a great stop in, if ever you're in the area. I think they do an all day breakfast, which appeals to me. With fresh breads, crusty and chewy sour-doughs and a creamy chai latte. There's a free local car park in the rear, which makes it handy and you can happily graze for two hours, without worrying about your parking meter!

Only tried their Vege pie which was ok. And spinach and cheese roll which was better than average. My missus had poached egg and salmon on toast which she liked. I've tried there large apple pie,it's has big apple chunks in their, not bad. Better than average place
M. A.
Big disadvantage is that they do not have Lactose free or substitute milk if you need it. Prices are a bit higher than the coffees at the Lyons Rd. Good thing though is that inside is really spacious so you do feel comfy.
L. S.
As a regular customer I find the coffee consistently good and the service prompt and friendly. The Bircher muesli and Soy and Linseed sourdough bread is our favourite for a Saturday morning breakfast.
I. S.
Chilled place for a coffee and food great range amazing 👏
J. G.
Great bakery with the best sourdough bread around. There cafe food is exceptional and very reasonably priced. Love the coffee... can't get enough of the coffee!
Z.
Great bread, great food, great coffee and great service!
G.
Great pies and cakes ... absolutely divine

Best coffee in Drummoyne. Barista Ryan makes a great full bodied piccilo from the rich house blend Toby Estate Coffee. Single origin available for us adventurous coffee explorers.
The huge variety of baked-on-premise breads are scrumptiously good. And the pies and pastries are too tantalising.
A small but diverse well made breakfast/lunch blackboard menu gives us locals plenty of variety to draw us back again and again. Pre prepped wraps and salads make a welcomed healthy eat-in or take-away option.
Max and his team on the floor are delightfully friendly, quick to serve, and greet you like you're home.

Cosy little coffee shop just on Victoria Road. Usually drop by into here to pick up coffee and yummy toast. Prices are pretty standard - around $20 per serving. Coffee + toast + eggs + bacon. Can't complain :)
R. M.
An icon for a reason, they have a great selection of tatty food and make a decent coffee. Depending on the time service can get a little slow silly because of the number of customers.
M. T.
My favourite bakery cafe in all of Sydney! They do awesome coffees, homemade muesli, cherry sourdough and oat and choc muffins. A local gem!
C. C.
This is getting 4 stars as the pies and cakes are good. I ordered a flat white with a 3/4 shot. What I got was 3/4 cup of flat white. The barrista needs some English lessons.
C. K.
The coffee is good, the cakes and pastries yummy and the sandwich display looks good. Staff are friendly and efficient. Lots of seating places and a clean toilet.
C. C.
Always fresh, quality bread. The quinoa sourdough and rye bread are excellent. The google listing is wrong though - they close at 3pm.
S. M.
The best quality spelt and wholemeal breads in Sydney. Some of the staff there are sometimes a bit hit & miss with their service levels but the bread makes it worth it.
J. S.
Best coffee in Drummoyne, and the Avo and Tomato on Sourdough is the best! We live locally and we easily come here once or twice a week on average!
G. M.
Decent coffee and good snacks. The breads they make are next level, we always get a Reuben Rye and it's amazing.
E. K.
I've had a full lunch here which was decent. Last week coffee and a strudel was 50/50. A little bit hit and miss but you could do a lot worse.
J. P.
Good coffee and food. Sometimes orders a bit slow. Excellent range of artisan bread, cooked in premises.
P. C.
The best milkshake I've had in a long time. The Ruben sandwich was great also. Great staff too.
W. T.
Great food & coffee! Staff are always helpful and quick. The granola & yogurt here is always a good choice!
M. B.
Not as good as it used to be. The coffee is still ok but the food and service have gone down hill a bit.
S. S.
It's got a great weekend morning menu which is why l went there but lacked a big breakfast that had sausages and bacon etc. Trendy good vibe.
G. S.
Great food. Good decor
Service friendly but more "smiles on the dials" of the employees would be welcomed.
M. T.
There's some really beautiful produce in here in so many varieties. Amazing sourdough, quiches and all kinds of breads.
S. K.
Popular local bakery serving premium products. Also serves breakfast and lunch. Recommend the Irish Soda bread.
G. M.
Empty during COVID. Shop is dark. Hard to read the bread labels. Can't really tell what thd ingredients are.
A. R.
Great coffee shop and a lot of goodies to eat. The chocolate muffins are my favourite but they go quick
G. C.
Curious minds enquire, of long timers:
(a) Has its ownership changed, between 2015 and 2018?
(b) Has anyone perceived a reduction in takeaway bread loaf dimensions in 2018?
K. E.
Iconic sourdough bakery restaurant with an amazing array of bread and pastries. Great for breakfast.

Had a pleasant meal at the bakery. Plenty of seating, quite even though it's on Victoria rd. friendly staff.
a. c.

take away Coffee was nice, staff seemed friendly enough.
A. D.
Damnnnnn, what a bakery. A large range of sourdough, but the coffee slighty burnt. Nonetheless, i recommend for sure.

If you don't eat bread daily it's worth buying here as it has a prolonged shelf life and tasteful at the sametime
R. P.
