Comments of Hong Ha Bakery Mascot
E.
Good selection of fillings. Bread is crispier than most bakeries I have been but also a bit more expensive. My crispy pork was a bit too fatty for my liking. Chicken is great. Very flavorful. Lemon grass chicken flavor is nice too but bit on the tough side.
R. T.
Good Bahn mi rolls. Very popular with locals, always lines of people waiting. I had the roll with lemon grass chicken $9 which was nice but the seasoning wasn't as strong as expected. The rolls were crispy on the outside soft on the inside. Lovely.
D. C.
The premier pork roll shop in the Eastern Suburbs. They also have a shop in Bondi Beach. They serve the traditional pork roll on a crispy Vietnamese baguette with pate, mayo, coriander, onion, shallot, carrot. Also alternatives to this like a crispy pork roll; crackling pork! They also do meatball subs, lemongrass chicken and rice noodles bowls, Spring rolls and dimsims. Easy parking in the lot behind Botany Road. Queues get a bit long here so it helps to order ahead or go early; They're open from 6am.
M. Y.
Probably my second favourite Banh Mi in Sydney. They don't jam pack the roll as much as I would like, but the flavours are fantastic. Service is very good as well.
A. W.
Unbelievably amazing. Honestly. I can't get over their bread, it literally crisps off and melts in your mouth. Each time, never had a bad roll! The fillings are awesome too, they're not stingy at all. I'm use to asking places to put more. But here, I do t have to at all. Amazing!! And actually nice service too! I'm happy to drive 30 min for this once a week.
B. L.
The pork rolls here are definitely above average, as the big line outside suggests. While I did enjoy the pork rolls here, my preference is still Marrickville Pork Roll because of flavour, price ($1 cheaper) and efficiency.
B. K.
Great rolls and other treats, but hard to go past the classics. Harder still is to find a time when there isn’t a line up outside this place, but just know that the line up time is worth it!
B. C.
Nice without being spectacular, certainly not worth the 25 minute wait
The flies in the food serving cabinet certainly give it the authentic street food feel
A. C.
I have been eating rolls here for years and I was actually a little disappointed when we were there last Sunday. The quality of the chicken was not as good as it used to be. One of the reasons why they were distinct and better than other was the quality of their meat. Let’s hope this is not a beginning of the end for them.
A. S.
The best Vietnamese rolls - been eating here for years and it’s fair to say, I’m a fan! The chicken rolls are so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.
K. V.
Yeah good selection of rolls. 5/5
I think the highlight for me was the lemongrass chicken roll.
BUT I honestly think Pork rolls at Marrickville are better, but definitely give both places a try because taste is subjective.
T. J.
The queue was really long during lunch time. It went all the way to Auto One. Nothing to blame on the shop, though. It’s just busy lunch hour and the shop is really popular.
I came in with high expectations as (1) the queue was really long (2) the rating is quite high. However, I personally don’t think that it is worth the wait for this banh mi.
The portion is quite small compared to the price and the portion of other banh mi places. I know one stall that’s right across a station that gives plenty of meat with similar price.
The seasoning wasn’t as strong and I wish they’d given more chili despite already asking for extra chili.
The bread, however, is crunchy outside but soft inside, which I really like.
i. t.
Crispy bread roll, creamy sauce ,and yummy filling either shredded chicken, crispy pork or normal sliced pork,a sprig of cilantro gives a distinctive twang in mouth.
Vegetarian spring roll is a delight. Avoid lunch time queue if possible tho'
C. J. D. L.
The best banh mi that I tasted in Australia. The bread is big and more importantly is a balance of crunch and softness. The ingredients are generous. Wish you guys have more branches as its too faraway from me
F. M.
Went on a weekday around lunch and had to wait around 25 mins, could be longer on weekends. I didn’t come here with high expectations however the place did have quite a lot of reviews and I can see why, we ordered two pork rolls and it was flavoursome and fresh, buns were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, I got to say this is probably now my favourite banh mi and in my opinion tastes much better than Marrackville pork rolls. The only negative thing i could say is the portions is less than other pork roll places, other than that would come again and try their other rolls.
S. K.
Finally tried this place after driving by so many times seeing the long queues every time, it definitely worth the queue! So tasty and yummy! Even my very picky husband has been a huge fan since his first bite lol The lemongrass chicken roll is must try, the crispy pork also amazing. And we find the flavours do make a difference by different staff making it, the first time we had it was made by a quite aged lady and it was so good!
P. B.
Had one of the classic pork rolls here, little bit too much onion for my liking but still full of flavour.
I will say that there was a little too much sauce, the bottom of my bun got soggy before I could finish it which was a little disappointing.
If you’re in the area then I’d definitely stop by for a roll, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.
K. O.
One of the best spot in Sydney for a good Banh mi's. Always a long line of people queuing here to get a takeaway banh mi.
A. C.
Great Banh mi, light and fresh. Got the crispy pork roll which was delicious, could have had more pork though.
P. W.
Great Bahn Mi rolls, full of flavour and lovely crunchy crust rolls. Very popular with the locals judging by the waiting queue.
L. F. A.
Loved by the locals of Mascot, and opened at 5:45am everyday, it makes a good pit stop before flying out ✈
Classic is the way to go with the standard pork roll but they also do have a chicken lemongrass roll which is something you don't usually see! Would revisit to try it 😋
E. G.
The best Banh Mi’s and Spring Rolls in Sydney!!!! Make sure you head down early because the queue will be long at weekday lunchtimes 🙉 see pics. Well worth it though! 🔥🔥🔥
T. C.
Not worth for the travel. Prices are okay for the portion but flavour is just average. You should go to Alex n roll in Marrickville or Kim Thanh in Cabbramatta for better Vietnamese pork rolls.
C. T.
Great food. The freshest tasting rolls ever. The only food shop in the area that has a line up the street every day. The service isn't really slow, there are just too many people wanting the good food.
M.
One of the best banh mi places I've eaten in Australia. The vegetables are fresh, the meat, pate and mayo is tasty, amd the bread is as fresh as it gets, given it's a bakery in the back of the shop. I got mine with the bread still hot. Be prepared for a line up, and it's worth it.
E. L.
I would have never thought there would be a day where you would have to wait in line to buy a pork roll, well it is when you go to Hong Ha. But it's worth every minute of wait. There is a variety of rolls but the classic pork roll is the best. There is Street and council parking, but good luck finding one. Prices are cheap.
N. W. (.
Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been! But I wouldn't wait more than 20 minutes if they've had it before. The portions aren't very generous and they are a bit slow which doesn't help the wait.
L. K.
So happy to come here. The rolls are the best I’ve ever had. The que for rolls proved their popularity. People come from far a way just to have their rolls. If you pass by and not have their rolls then you are missing something. Prices are awesome, and you don’t need compare with anyone. You will so many people near by the shop or parking area just having their rolls, everyone is so happy to line up.
T. A.
Visited at the end of the day. No wait. Staff not overly friendly but not rude or anything either. Had the chicken roll - sure it’s not bad but I’ve definitely had better - main issue is the chicken doesn’t have a lot of flavour.
D. N.
Very popular Vietnamese pork roll bakery. Don't be put off by the queue - it may be long, but it's fast moving. The bakery offers the usual variety of fillings - pork, chicken, meat ball, etc. - as well as some tasty sides - incl. spring rolls, fried dim sums.
I think the popularity of the bakery lies in the bread rolls, which have a very light but extremely crunchy crust.
Overall, I found the rolls solid, but I've had tastier ones in Sydney. I'd probably stop by if I happened to be in the neighborhood, but definetly wouldn't go out of my way to go there.
Please 'Like' this review if you found it helpful.
y.
For the price... Seems like they're skimping on the goods. You can see how thin the shrimp is in the rice paper roll. No flavor at all. The bahn mi was ok. Also seems like a bare minimum of goods just to make the bun look full.
K. F.
It says something about a place when every day, the queue extends out the door and down the road, right past a major competitor who's product is a dollar cheaper, yet no one is in there buying it. Hong Ha rolls are legendary in Mascot and for good reason. Probably the best Bahn Mi in Sydney by far.
E. W.
Long queue but only needs about 5-8 min wait. Tried the pork and bbq pork bread rolls. The baguette isn't too hard. The pate in the bun is really yummy, and blends well with the pickled spring onions. Overall a satisfying meal though nothing much to shout for.
As of Dec 2017, it's AUD6 each.
W. N.
A long line at every afternoon explains why people love their Vietnamese pork rolls here! Their bread rolls are crispy!!
Very impressed with their lemongrass chicken roll! Worth the short wait
D. K.
Best pork rolls in Sydney.
Bread is always baked fresh,
The Chilli mix though can be inconsistent at times.
Go to for lunch definitely has to be 1 x Chicken Chill or 1 x Pork Chilli + a Drink + 1 Spring Roll.
B. K.
Quick service and always delicious food. You have to repeat, "no chilli" a few times but it's just funny now after years of doing it. This is my go to place for authentic and delicious traditional Vietnamese pork rolls.
R. R.
The best place to eat Vietnamese banh mi. We always drive 20 minutes to enjoy the food.
Place is popular and always people waiting their turn.
G. Y. R. P.
Place is small and fast at service. Just for take away. I found a big line outside but it moves fast. Pork banh mi, tasty, cheap, good balanced.
G.
top notch as usual. bit of a wait during the day at lunchtime, don't let that stop you! great value also.
M. A.
Simple flavoured banh mi with fresh ingredients and crusty rolls. Be prepared to line up, there's always a queue.
D. H.
The line in front of the shop says it all. Avoid lunch time if you don't want to wait for an hour just for this scrumptiousness. Fresh chicken roll and crispy pork with lots of chilli are always a favourite!
M. M.
Rolls are tasty. Always busy.
They are THE MOST EXPENSIVE in Sydney albeit by $1 & they charge top surcharge of $0.50c for card purchases. Still if I was in the area & felt like a pork roll I'd buy one & pay cash...
M. G.
Good price for good buns!!! You must go here.
P. P.
This is an amazing lunch option! Very popular and likely to be a line. The sandwich was amazing and I love the hot chilli, be carefull they are very hot. Great service and friendly staff A+++ very happy traveler.
O. R.
Awesome banh mi (Vietnamese baguette rolls) at unbeatable prices. Today while waiting for my partner to emerge, someone asked me what was up with the long line. I explained that the rolls are really good and the price is very reasonable. My fave is BBQ pork but most varieties end up really good anyway. It's the bread that's the star here as Hong Ha is a bakery after all: it's crusty on the outside (almost to the point of being crispy) yet soft and not-so-chewy inside, able to hold enough moisture to stand up to the filling. The schnitzel is fried to order and you're welcome to ask for some ingredients to be excluded. A warning that even having little chillies generally ends up with a hot kick. Oh and avoid around lunch time if you're not willing to queue. There's also the option to takeaway the bread and make your own at home.
K. C.
Good Vietnamese pork and chicken rolls. The bread is nice and beautifully fresh. Price is slightly high and their pate could use more flavour
G.
Still one of the best Vietnamese rolls in Sydney. The fact that there are two Vietnamese bakeries pretty much next to each other and this one constantly has a line speaks for itself. Be careful of the meatball roll, it packs a garlic punch. Best not to eat that one before a meeting.
S. B.
It is definitely worthy of the line although my number one would still be Marrickville Pork Roll - just can’t beat the pickled radish.
B. U.
40min wait for the best chicken roll. No surprise the line was so long.
G. G.
The freshest salad roll you can get in mascot. Only thing that concerns me is the cleanliness around the shop.
H.
Pork crackling roll $9. Portions for the meat was pretty poor, nothing super special.
T. N.
Very good original Vietnam roll in Sydney. quite long queue to get service but the food is yum,
J. P.
Bread was crispy and light, ratio nothing like Marrickville Rolls and service could have been better (the lady that served me took ages because she would rather gossip with her colleagues than to complete my order, the reason on why I gave it 4 stars) the line was also full of ppl waiting as it was lunch time. Overall I would rate this in my top 5 for pork and crispy pork banh mi in Sydney however avoid their plain chicken not worth the $6. Overall Hong Ha's banh mi is better than anything Cabramatta could offer. Shame the service wasn't the best and ratio of meat and lack of daikon radish was a miss, however if I am ever in the area will happily be back!
M. T.
The best pork roll in town. I always thought about getting chicken roll or meat ball roll, but as soon as I reach the counter, I can only say, "1 Pork roll please" the rice paper roll is also delicious, ask for the peanut sauce with chilli and nut.
M. P. (.
Still the best Bahn Mi, no matter how many contenders. Like Colonel's KFC secret chicken batter recipe... Hong Ha Bahn Mi bread is simply addictive... So far, for many years, none ever beaten Hong Ha Bahn Mi. The que every single lunch time, just the proof of its fame.
L. J.
It is ok, and in my opinion is over hyped. Tomato and lettuce in my pork roll. Interesting.
J. Y.
Bread is fantastic but the volume of bread overtakes the flavour of the ingredients. Still a good roll and worth the wait in line
Y. O.
Always good one pork roll is never enough the spring roll is a must try if you never had it
F. W.
Absolutely amazing Bahn Mi's. There's always a long line (because everyone knows it's the best place) but it's always so worth the wait! The quality of the food is unparalleled and they don't skimp on fillings!b
T. P.
I've been visited this shop for a while but recently I found that food consistency is not as good as before. The pickle is a bit too sour and its flavour is overwhelming. Both my pork and pork belly roll lacked sauce. Also, they have increased the price for $1.5. With 9$ for lunch, a lot of lunch special selection around this area:( not coming back.
K. A.
Best place in Sydney to get Bahn Mi, Vietnamese pork roll. Price is cheap, open from very early, taste is amazing.
C. T.
It’s all in the roll - warm, fresh, super light and crispy - winner!
The banh mi here are very close to what Ive had in HCMC and worth putting up with the terrible service and skimpy servings for!
R. F.
Best rolls and still great price. Try lemon grass chicken
m. m.
By far my favourite pork roll I've had to date,
Bun was fresh and crispy
Lots of filling
Wasn't too expensive.
My only complaint, there was a massive line out front stretching past several other shops. But all in all definitely will go out of my way to come for another roll
K. M.
Queing for a fresh crispy pork roll... the best tasting roll eva!
R. T.
The original and best Banh Mai pork rolls. Always a queue at lunchtime because they are so good..
W. S.
There’s always a queue of people but it’s worth the wait! Original, authentic, flavourful rolls with a number of ingredients will take you to Vietnam. Everything in the roll is exactly how it should be - crispy, tender, not soggy, and a bit spicy with the chillies. Its a very satisfying lunch for $7-8. Will always be coming back for more...
W. K.
The bread rolls are so fresh and delicious here. If you are lucky enough to get one still warm from the oven it’s just perfection. Worth going taking a flight for so you have an excuse to visit Hong Ha.
F. W.
5 star for the food which is by far the best rolls I've had and I've had plenty in Cabra.
downside is the ridiculous wait time between 11am and 2pm, so get there outside these times if don't want to wait for 30min for a roll.
S. L.
Definitely not worth the wait. Trust me.. There's three great pork roll places in mascot and I don't understand the hype behind this one compared to the others. I've tried them all. The wait is long, the rolls aren't that big, there's nothing diffrent that really stands out and the service is rude I must say. I've tried alot of bahn mi and this isn't all that special. Prices are more expensive than others also. The roll I got wasn't bad but nothing special.
S.
Top notch banh mi, go for the chicken roll. However, today i noticed the younger girls are much slower to serve, they halter, they daydream, stare at other customers and eavesdrop if they are talking, hence slow to serve. Stick with the older ladies, they create great vibes on the shop.
V. P.
Great sandwich! Order ahead and save from waiting in the queue.
r. 9.
One of the OG pork roll establishments, bread crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle and always the freshest of ingredients..cant go wrong, a top 5 pork roll in Sydney.
C. O.
These Vietnamese are my favourite in Sydney, very cheap and great opening hours. Often has a line around the block but service is very quick and worth it!
M. G.
Be prepared to wait in line if and when you visit. I like to stick to the traditional pork roll, as the other flavours just seem to fall flat in flavour. Not the best place for pork roll I’ve had but great if you’re in the area. I’m glad they have a terminal for cashless payments.
R. T.
The lunchtime line up down the street & around the corner is significant in establishing just how good this marvellous street food outlet is.
The absolute overall quality of this food/cuisine is beyond words or in fact any statement I could further make. Hongalicious.
S. p.
The queues remain after all these years, for good reason. Delicious as always.
Y. Y. S.
The banh is super crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. All the proportions of the sauce is just nice, giving you the ultimate banh mi roll experience. Chicken roll is popular but crispy pork is not
lagging too far behind.
R. S.
The long queues are a regular feature of this place but their Vietnamese bread rolls are so delicious that the wait is worth the regular pain-in-the-arse queuing. Wait times for me have varied from 10-30 min. Make sure to bring yr phone or a friend to pass the time while the queue inches forward. Love their menu, everything is delicious! Would give them 5/5 but for the regular and long wait times.
L.
Best Bangmi! Crispy bread, Good price. It was worth being into queue.
M. A.
Amazing rolls, generous with fillings and very fresh. Great Vietnamese style French bread and decent croissants. Take EFTPOS and have Vietnamese salads and fresh rice paper rolls too. 15 minute part out the front with some restrictions on times. Highly recommended.
B. L.
Chicken lemongrass number 1! The pork roll was average. Bread is nice and crunchy, the way I like it. If you request it, has REAL azn chilli, yum yum! However I still reckon Marrickville pork roll is still the champions though. Long lines here, about 20+min wait
L. G.
Good Banh Mi at a decent price.
H. K. K.
Long que to get this food. It is OK when came earlier.
p. g.
Getting to be pricey compare to other good Banh Mi Bakerries. Serving is less than usual, owners do not realise that customers are getting more knowledgeable in food and they go different places to try. It's ok to increase your rolls to $7 but do not reduce the ingredients. Try Marrickville Alex and Rolls and compare, then you will know.
C. M.
One of the best pork rolls in Sydney, and the line proves it! Favourite is the chicken lemongrass roll which is solidly packed with all the good stuff. Usually a 30 minute wait at lunch time, but #worthit.
J. R. (.
Back from 15th years since I become their loyal customer till now.. it never change on their taste it's just changes on the prices🤭 other than that the worker serving too long now as they talk too much each other while they're serving customers👎.. hope the owner aware of this.
S. G.
The taste of their magic sauce makes the waiting time well worth it. You can miss the crowds if you judge your arrival, but too late and the Chicken Schnitzel has gone and too early and you're waiting for them to open. Whatever you choose, you'll enjoy the roll.
N. B.
Millions would go hungry if this place didn't exist. Totally the best Vietnamese Rolls....The lines out front speak for how good Hong HA is...
Get it with Chilli!!!!
m. d.
nice pork roll.. I got 3 but 2 of them are wrong ingredients….customer service needs to be improved….
A.
Best Bahn Mi in all of Australia, I’ll literally fight anyone who tries to say otherwise. Affordable, fresh and incredibly tasty. If I could eat a roll every day I honestly would, they are that good. Beware of the lunch time queue, best to get in early morning if you have the time. Try the schnitzel with sweet chilli, chefs kiss 😙.
Hong Ha>Cabramatta Bahn Mi
L. M.
I was wandering past this street and thought why is this line so long outside this bakery.... well I just found out! They have the best pork roll I’ve ever eaten! I waited inline awhile but was totally worth the wait!
N. K.
Love the lemongrass chicken roll! Food is cheap and freshly made everyday
Y.
Pretty good banh mi, and very cheap at $6 for a traditional pork roll. Lovely fresh crispy warm roll and all the nice toppings, though it also includes a long stalk of spring onion and a bunch of raw sliced white onion, as well as some very watery mayo/sauce that was a bit weird. Service is quite slow so don't come if you're in a hurry, because the staff certainly aren't - I watched one lady very slowly cut up a piece of schnitzel with a pair of scissors, it must have taken her a minute to do.
Overall would recommend if you're in the area and want a tasty roll for quite cheap :)
F.
All time favourite! Their bread are freshly made by themselves hence very crunchy and fresh. The ingredients are very fresh. The pate and mayo are just right amount to raise the flavour to another level that no no other shop can compare. It finishes with a bit of white pepper and soy sauce to maintain the moist in your mouth. Price has increased from $3 to $6/$7 now yet still relatively reasonable. My HK frd tried it once and said “it is so delicious that she could not find one in Vietnam that is more delicious then Hong Ha.
D. A.
Best chicken rolls!! A little heads up to pop in before the peak or after to avoid the long wait.. or if your happy to wait.. you won't regret it! Either way WIN|WIN!!!
D. R.
Many choices and tasty. Next time I wlll order with extra veges.
D. Y.
3.5 stars. I come here often as its my local but the quality is never consistent. Depending on who is making the roll, the ratio of sauce & veggies can be very off. A decent staple but relies on its fame.
I regularly buy the chicken, lemongrass chicken & pork rolls.
K. K.
My gosh, what can I say about their Chicken Rolls? They have been the best in Sydney for well over 15 years now. Crunchy roll, fresh veggies and the most wonderful sauces. Don't be put off by the long line up outside the the shop, it moves quickly and the rolls are worth every minute you will wait for them.
K.
Favourite Bahn Mi in Sydney! So tasty and the bread roll is crispy outside soft inside. Recommend the pork roll and spicy if you can( it’s quite spicy). Lemongrass chicken is also amazing! Very juice. Always a long queue tho but moves quite fast.
L. T.
Best chicken rolls in Sydney, could easily finish two by myself. Pork rolls is good but not the best, its the chicken roll here that i love... its so good. Yummy. Very busy shop, sometimes the que is so long but the line is moving very quick, plenty of staffs working.
This shop is a money making machine millions of dollar a year, their vietnamese chicken roll is a legendary stuff.
O. B.
one of the best banh mi in sydney. however, the queue is very long during lunch. make sure you go earlier!
J. K.
You have to stand in line to eat.The bread is so delicious.
I recommend chicken bread.
J. F.
Best pork or chicken rolls in the eastern suburbs. Always big line and starts around 10am. Been eating this since 1989.
i.
You just can’t beat Sydney’s famous hot bread roll shop. Loyal customer since 2009. Don’t be put off by the decor - this place is 100% about the main game - their chicken chilli rolls. Try one, you won’t look at another roll the same.
s.
All Time Favorite Vietnamese Roll.. Had Around Australia, Nothing Beats This..
Q. S.
The lemongrass chicken roll was the best one i have had, but the service was terrible. They premade the roll with veges, when i told them no carrot they just took it from the roll and still left some inside. If you are allergic to something, make sure ask for a new one.
T. N. T.
As a tough Vietnamese food enthusiast, I xan gurantee Hong Ha has best of the best Vietnamese Bánh Mì in Australia!
It's fresh hot, solfly crunchy, perfectly seasonsed, hygiene is immaculately clean yet super efficient and friendly.
Must try before you die 😝
J. Q.
Banh mi was good. Bread was fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, very fresh. Mayo portions were generous. Was a little disappointed with the BBQ pork banh mi where it just felt like there were only pork cold cuts only (like a normal banh mi). The lemongrass chicken banh mi was also pretty good, interesting how they put lettuce and tomato in it. Overall, still one of the better banh mis in Sydney.
S. K.
This place is the BEST Vietnamese Bahn Mi in Sydney. The wait might be long but it is definitely worth waiting for. Go here if you crave a excellent Bahn Mi.
R. C.
One of the best pork rolls in that area. Bread was light and crispy, and the fillings didn't feel like it was loaded up with msg. Having said that, msg is delicious and I would still say Nam Fong in Bankstown is the best in Sydney.
J. R.
Hong Ha has the Best Pork Rolls, the crispy pork roll and spring rolls are also great! The long line you'll typically find speaks for itself and it's certainly worth the wait!
s. s.
Loved it. Can't wait to go back. It was as good as I was hoping it would be
J. C.
I ordered the standard pork roll with extra chilis. I have to say that it was the best pork roll I have had here in Sydney. The bread was nice and crusty and the meat had a really good flavor along with all the other standard toppings. Even if there is a line here it goes really quick. I had a few orders in front but it was a matter of minutes before I was handed my sandwich. I would suggest getting multiple sandwiches as they are cheap and so tasty.
J. T.
Long lines but worth the wait. The rolls are consistently made every visit, the buns are crunchy on the outside with a soft interior and the taste is well balanced. One of the best value meals you will find around.
P. N.
The staff are comedy and famous rolls as always
J. A.
Hands down the most delicious pork rolls ive had!
Usually has a massive queue, but its worth it!!
M. T.
If you don't mind a wait for the best Vietnamese bread rolls in Sydney, grab a chicken roll with chilli and you won't be disappointed! No dining space available, so having a nice spot in mind will help.
J. G.
Just don’t see the hype at all it’s your average $5 pork roll you can find at any good bakery. Marrickville pork roll is where it’s at any day of the week!
J. T.
OK banh mi. Good sized portion but whole spring onion ruined it
L. P.
Always consistently fresh, tasty and crispy rolls. Service is quick and efficient, and very good value. The only drawback are the veggies, not as seasoned or pickled as Marrickville pork rolls but still ok. Always come back here though because the quality is that consistent.
S. K.
While the food is absolutely amazing, there's always a massive line up. They should really consider adding more staff. Other than that, the best Vietnamese Rolls I've ever had!
S. R.
Best banh mi in Australia! The queue is the evidence. Always fresh and tasty!
H. C.
Love their Vietnamese bread rolls. The bread is very fresh so it's very tasty and the total opposite of stale. The taste is... well if you ask me, heavenly. Definitely one of my must-try in Sydney area
G. R.
My favourite lunchtime haunt. I buy the chicken roll at least once a week - $6 cash only. The flavours pop, and the taste sensation is addictive. Don’t expect a warm welcome though, no stroking of customers here. The transaction is mechanical. The magic is in the bun.
B. Y.
Sadly this very popular shop has a take it or leave it approach to customer service & food consistency. The last two visits the rolls served have left me feeling disappointed & I’m reconsidering if it really is worth the wait.
S. L.
How people can queue, in super long queues for this, I will never know.
Yes it's cheap, yes it's fresh, but it's just an average roll.
I realise I am very much in the minority here.
But I just don't get it.
The queues' are insane, even if I loved it, I wouldn't queue 20 mins for a sandwich.
R.
its a busy shop and they take phone order as well cause the staff unhappy. long wait at the lunch time, food is fresh and i guess well rotated. elder staff keep asking the same question with grumpy face.
food (rolls) taste i think is just as good as destination roll, but price point is higher.
M. A. M.
It's a really good pork roll but easily the most over rated in Sydney. I cant believe people line up so long for this. I'm extremely impatient and there are a lot better pork rolls in sydney (and a lot worse too!)
A. d. S.
Best bahn mi I’ve ever had
A. T.
This place is hands down the best pork/chicken roll you can get in Sydney. It's only $6 too which makes it a cheap meal. Only gripe is if you buy plain rolls, they won't take it from the freshly baked pile unless you ask.
There is a parking lot at the back of the store, but I've found that parking on botany road has been easy.
E. D.
As someone who has gone to Vietnam and had actual banh mi rolls, nothing in Australia will ever compare. But I had this place hyped up by a few friends so decided to give it a go. Got in at a good time, only waited a few minutes in the line as they have like 8 people working behind the counter to ensure it goes out quickly. The only disappointing factor was that I ordered the pork roll and asked for no onion, coriander or chilli and what I discovered when I got home was a pork roll with carrot and that’s it. No lettuce or tomato but I don’t know the menu well enough to know if they don’t put it on the pork rolls. Regardless I would’ve expected cucumber based on the photos. Besides that it’s a good roll, bit hard as they obviously make all the bread in the morning rather than having continuous loads come out (best part about authentic Vietnamese rolls is they’re all fresh) and the flavours are good
N. A.
Amazing vietnamese baguettes, chicken roll and salad roll the best ones for my liking. Super fresh bread, baked throughout the day, as well as the roast chicken which is pulled several times a day. Tasty and freshly made. I've been there 15+ times and I will keep going when I'm around the area. Guarantee quality. Guarantee queue at lunch time as well but it walks really fast, they can easily serve a customer in less than a minute. Great food
D. M.
The best chicken rolls in Sydney. Pork is also delicious but not a massive fan of all the processed meat. In relation to the cost, I don't think 5.50 is a lot for the huge chicken roll you receive. This place is excellent. Service can be mixed.
L. M.
Not often you'll find a place where pilots and flight attendants are in queue to grab a quick bite before the next flight out. This bakery is a legendary institution south of the city, the lunchtime queues may you give some insight as to why this may be the case. Family owned business serving quality pork, chicken and salad rolls for over 20+ years. Whether it's on arrival or departure, this a must visit!
G. M.
The original spot for me , my love affair with pork/chicken rolls started right here, its worth the line up and get two rolls you wont regret it, also the schnitzel roll with extra garlic mayo is insanely good.
U. J.
Best Vietnamese chicken rolls very busy customers line up all the way out of the shop all the time and very cheap.the staffs looks grumpy maybe too much work
r.
Chicken rolls were unbelievable 😲
J. K.
Best Bahn Mi in Sydney if not Australia! If you are looking for Vietnamese food, especially rolls or any bakery products this is the place for you. It’s great value and tastes amazing!
I have heard that Qantas ships these out to their staff all over the country, they are that good! Order by phone and skip the queue to pick up, otherwise you will have to wait in the inevitable huge line on the street outside. A must try if you are in the Mascot or Botany area.
J. H.
I feel this place is very overhyped. We had the pork and roast pork rolls. For $6 and $8 respectively I feel there is no difference to any other local banh mi joint. Definitely not along the quality of Marrickville Pork Rolls.
J. M.
Best Rolls in the city.. I'm calling it!! Get there before 11am and the line should be minimal.. but if you have to wait it is well worth it. Waited 20mins the other day and was super satisfied!!
A. A.
Good cheap rolls. I had pork and chicken roll at $5 each. Extra cheese or pepper can be added at free cost. Whenever you go there, you will find a long queue. Hong Ha is the best and cheapest lunch option in Sydney.
G. H.
For years, well, decades, the chicken roll is the best fresh chicken roll I have ever come across. Go there whenever you want, there will be a queue of a few people. Rightly so. Truly recemmended. (be careful when asking for chillie, that is not for the faint hearted)
S.
Started queuing around 12:30pm on a Sunday. Queued for around 10 mins, the line moved pretty quick. Fast and friendly service, lots of staff working. I ordered BBQ pork and two Pork rolls. They were all exceptionally tasty. Hong Ha lives up to the hype, worth lining up and trying at least once
m. A.
Awesome food, very busy but worth the wait.
N. D. (.
I am a bahn mi connoisseur, ive tried them anywhere i can so i can find one better than hong ha, and i cant!!!!
They hit the perfect model of roll. Everything is constantly fresh and moving.
A. P.
Simply the best banh mi in Sydney. There can be a wait at times, but the line moves quickly.
The bread roll is crisp on the outside and soft in the middle, the fillings are fresh and plentiful, the seasonings are balanced perfectly. I dream about this roll!
K. H.
Awesome Vietnamese bread roll. No wonder there always a line. The bread is crispy and crunchy but not dry. The filling is tasty. Much better than Marrickville hot bread which everyone rave about. Marrickville hot bread is overrated compare to Hong Ha Bakery.
c. x.
The Best Pork Roll in Sydney. I live 30 min away from Mascot, but I travel all the way there to eat it each time. It's worth it! When you've tried everywhere else, you'll know that this is the tastiest pork roll you can get in town!
R. S.
Queues! They move fast. Banh mi is about $6 and $7.50 with a drink. We had summer rolls too, 3 for $7. I wish I could share more photos but they were too tasty to interrupt for a photograph. The bread is made in-house from the looks of it.
S. V.
Been going to Hong Ha for years. Their bread is baked fresh in store. Every so often it is FRESH from the oven. The ingredients that they put on the rolls are fresh too no matter what time of day you go.
J. W. H.
Was looking for some breakfast along Botany Road in Mascot, saw this place and it had a bit of a queue so decided to try a lemongrass chicken roll for $8.
Service felt a little bit slow.
The taste of the lemongrass chicken roll was ok, nothing amazing, expected more flavour from the lemongrass chicken.
N. C.
Its a bit of a hit and miss, I only say this solely based on the luck of the draw. If you get served by a young female, she is extremely generous with your choice of protein and vegetables, she will even cook up a fresh bat of dim sims/ spring rolls for you! However, be served by the other 4 ladies, be expected to have sold out dim sims 15 minutes after opening and not being offered to have them cook up a fresh batch for you. Other than this, the bread rolls themselves are bangers. Crunchy and soft and utterly delicious. If I was lucky enough to be served by the young woman this would surely be a 4 or a 5/5.
J.
Great affordable bun with a few other little other things you can buy such as spring rolls and custard pie. There always is a line outside which does move through quiet quickly. However well worth the wait in terms of taste and affordability.
C. T.
Very busy bakery with main specialty being pork rolls. Tasty and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended as daily eat
C. B.
Really enjoyed the pork roll.
K. C.
The rolls here are tasty and cheap. $5 for a filling salad roll? Get out of here! They did use to be tastier, but that's probably cause there are massive queues (that moves quick), even after peak lunchtime. The best banh mi or these type of rolls are at Marrickville Pork Roll.
M. G.
AMAZING. My go to banh mi joint in Sydney. I love the fresh crisp bread and the flavours blend so well. Thanks Hong Ha!
P. P.
Is the ridiculously long queue/line & wait time really worth it, mmm not so sure
M. W.
Great pork rolls. Been going there for many years. Crispy pork and bbq pork are the go.
P. B.
I put bread rolls on my work lunch menu because of this bakery. The staffs are really doing great in customer service. Like i got the first day and from next, they already remember by regulars.
J.
Definitely the best pork roll in the eastern suburbs. It is the best of both French and Vietnamese influence. The line can get long, and they do increase the price by 50 cents every year but I'm so addicted that I'll never stop coming here.
J. F.
Best chilli chicken rolls....
H. P. F.
Their chicken rolls are legendary. Ingredients always seem so fresh. Been coming to this place for years
P. P.
Love the pork roll, crispy bread😊yumm
L. L.
One of the best Banh Mi (Vietnamese bread roll) in Sydney. Affordable price, and delicious roll!
Try to avoid the morning or lunch peak hours.(expect long queue.)
A.
Probably the best viet rolls in Sydney.
The bread is super fresh! And the sauce is beautiful. Always busy around lunch (lines out the door)!
A. N.
This is the best banh mi you will find in town. The long lines at lunch should only serve as a testament to their quality. The bread they use is like nothing you have ever tasted - perfect texture and taste. Only downside is cash only.
P. S.
The rolls are nice, full of flavor and you you definitely can't stop at one. Now on the flip side staff are not overly friendly and helpful, the other issue's are these there idea of oh/s is dismal to say the least, the other bad thing's are these the cross contamination using this same tongs for everything is discussing and a big no no. The bain marre dont feel like there cooled properly and there are no thermometers showing the temperature they need to keep it at. One final note while the favour is there is it worth the risk also parking is a nightmare the line up is huge and definitely not worth th wait
J. W. K.
Just follow your nose, or follow the long snaking queue that leads to the shop front of this Vietnamese bakery in the heart of Mascot.
There is no wonder at all as to why people will give up their entire lunch hour to queue for the pork or chicken rolls - hands down the best in Sydney. Make sure you get the special mayonnaise and if you are feeling brave, ask for extra chilli! The staff are super fast and can churn out an order in minutes. Totally worthwhile experience.
A. H.
Probably the best Vietnamese chicken rolls I've had in Sydney. The bread is especially good as it's made in the shop - so fresh and crunchy.
J. C.
Can’t fault the freshly baked crisp bread rolls at hong ha! The pork roll was tasty albeit extremely chilly (and I can tolerate chilly!) and wait time is a bit long. 4.5 stars.
J. P.
Great standard pork roll, didn't love the BBQ pork roll - and the super long, slow moving line was enough to turn me off pre-covid, and enough to turn me away now
A. W.
The best chicken rolls in Sydney
A. G.
Prepare for your first bite. The crispy crunch is so loud and shattering of flaky bread gives way to a taste bomb of vietnamese style chicken and salad. The price is great. They make banh mi just the way you want it with no fuss. Easy. Cheap. Warm. Fresh. Always a great option coming from the airport too. Not my favourite place for meatball or pork banh mi - but thats just me. The chicken schnitzel roll (ask them to go light on the sweet chilli sauce) is another great choice.
W. I.
Love the bhan mi and fresh bread
G. H.
Fantastic - queues out of the door, but well worth it. There are a few other cheaper similar Vietnamese places in Mascot, but I've never felt the need to try them. $1 extra for a can of drink too.
$4.50 for a hot pork roll? Great value.
K. P.
We usually order rolls, they taste good and fresh. If you are not a regular eater of chiili it's best to avoid spicy. It's super hot, burns you mouth.
S. B.
Hong Ha Bakery sells amazing, delishous rolls that you chose the filling, the best part is definitely the sauce. You won't be able to find the sauce they put on the rolls anywhere else because it is homemade. Besides the long cue I love everything about Hong Ha Bakery!
M. P.
Pork rolls are good, but food is only half the game. Granny and her forever sad-looking family/friends need to learn customer service skills (all of them). A simple smile wouldnt kill, a kind "what would you like" instead of "Yes, what you want!" wouldnt kill. Learn how to speak to customers; they are, after all, the life of your business. Warning: Be prepared for sour faces and rude service - these people are clearly not deserving of the customers they get.
S. B.
Hubby and I had an errand to run in Mascot - and I saw a trail of people walking down the street with bags that looked pretty interesting. Then I spied an entire family on a bench eating pork rolls. Then...more people walking by, eating pork rolls (obviously so tempting they couldn't wait for the car!) We peeked around a corner and saw a line 20 people deep and said AH HA! Must be good - and it was! The bread rolls were divine, perfectly crusty outside but heavenly light inside. The fillings were fresh and full and the sauce perfect. $6 for a roll and a can of soda, can't be beat! We will find more "errands" to do in Mascot!
J. N.
Quality has dropped a lot from years back when it was good. Bread is way to dry. Goto Marrickville pork roll of you want a legit one.
A. S.
Still one of the best Vietnamese bread rolls in Sydney. Always a queue, but always worth it. I'd recommend the chicken over the pork roll.
T. N.
Lemongrass chicken roll is ok for the price. But I would not say it is worth to wait in the queue for more than 20 mins to get a quick bite.
T. L.
Sitting on the main road of Mascot, this is one small traditional Vietnamese bakery that gets you to come back. Famous for its chicken rolls and pork rolls, while some come back for its cheap cost I go for both. Don’t forget to give its rice paper rolls a try (I usually go for the mix of 3 different flavour, but you have to go early to get this). If this is your first time going, the queue usually extends to other shop, so you won’t miss it.
M. P.
One of the best Banh Mi's in Sydney that you can get your hands on. They're relatively cheap and affordable. the service is fast and the bread roll is to die for! Hmmm the mayonnaise and the secret sauce is what makes them so delicious. They got other options as well if your not into banh mi's.The only downside for me is that its so far away from where i live haha
M. U.
Can't get better Vietnamese bread roll else where, and it's cheaper then McDonald's. Expect 15min+ queue at lunch time. Please note it serve optional Asian chilli( extremely spicy), make sure you can handle before ask for it.
D. F.
I have been to this place since I was a kid and I have never experienced any bad employees, bad food, bad hygiene etc.
T. L.
I have been eating pork roll from Hong Ha for more than 10 years. It is definitely #sydtopporkroll and #localfavourite. Although the line can get quite long, but it's worth of the wait😋
D. N.
Their chilli chicken roll is the best banh mi I have tasted. There is a reason they always have such a long line. Simply the best. But be prepared to turn into a fire breathing dragon. The chilli is super hot!
D. T.
Hong Ha Bakery is the best , they are efficient , friendly and always make the best Vietnamese Rolls I have ever had. Always so polite , love dealing with them. I highly recommend them.
F. H.
One of the best Vietnamese bread rolls in town. Expect an excellent crispy roll, but don’t expect a good service. Usually long queue during lunch time.
m. B.
Best Bahn Mi rolls in town, if you don't get chilli your doing it wrong. If you can get a big enough order call ahead to avoid lining up.
N. G.
Great Vietnamese pork and chicken rolls.
Long queues all throughout the day tells it all.
Imitation shops pop up now and then but they don't last for long.
Love this place.
M. R.
Recommended by a friend
And it's definitely lived up to the expectations.
For $6 ...cant complain
The line is long continuously though. I had crispy pork roll and bbq pork roll and loved them both. Also tried the dim sims omg yum $2 yum.
S. B.
Definitely not worth the hype, it's good but it's almost no different to any other standard bahn mi place out there, the bakery in eastlakes is cheaper and the BBQ in my opinion is better. I also think the Bahn mi place in Eastgardens Westfields food court is WAY better (although you pay more like $8-9 a roll there instead of $6
F. P.
Pork rolls and Chicken rolls are really delicious and reasonably priced, often has have a long line in front the shop.
S. A.
This is a 5 star Banh Mi. My favorite: roast chicken, fluffy crispy rolls, the chilli's are spicy and the toppings are crisp, sweet and tangy. Perfection! There are multiple Vietnamese roll places nearby, but only one has a line stretching down the street, Hong Ha! Yummm
K. C.
Probably more like a 3.5. my vego banh mi was really good, but my partners pork was very badly prepared and hard to eat. The pork was a little fatty. It's not as good as it used to be
W.
Great pork rolls and spring rolls.
D. P.
The chicken roll here is a beautiful thing. While I work in this area and have a Bahn mi (or two) for lunch several times per week, it's not enough - I often find myself driving to Mascot for a weekend hit too...
H. C.
I heard people raving about this place so I rode down here with some friends on a Saturday morning...and there was already a queue when we arrived around noon. That means it must be good...
Fortunately the queue moved quickly (5 min,) and my overeager ass bought a pork roll and a chicken roll plus a drink for $11. Dope.
The bread is pretty good, and I liked the pork roll more than the chicken roll. I still think Vinata in Cabramatta is better, but this has been the best pork roll I've had around Sydney CBD.
I'll need to try Marrickville's next.
J. F. L. M. D.
It's reputation speaks for itself!
Mint!
t. b.
These spatula weilding pork pirates must knock out the most pork rolls in sydney every day, with a constant production line and at least 3 service people running hot all day long. Why is it good? For Hong Ha, its definitely the bread. Its the soft crispy perfection with just the right amount of mayo. You may get attitude if you ask for any changes like extra corriander, (just sighs and eye daggers!) but its all part of the experience. Like the Tonya Hardings of Roll, they perform well under pressure, as it turns out, fury tastes great!
A. M.
Visited for the first time the other day and ordered a bbq pork roll. Real tasty, and at a good price. They accept eftpos too which is a decent surprise. Would definitely visit again
A. G.
Nonono, just so average. Especially after queuing for such a while. Disappointed 🙁
S. P.
I'm all the way from 🇨🇦 and every day I passed by this place, there is a huge line up everyday. So I thought I'd try it out and it was amazing! Great food and great people work here. They will take care of you and have to try out the pork roll.
J. C.
Great rolls and rice rolls ,different varieties if U don't mind the long queue ... sometimes.
L. T.
Over hyped pork rolls. They bread is delicious, but the meat to filling ratio is poor. The service was rude and rushed. The wait time was 30 minutes. The pate and mayo were very heavy as well. But the worst thing was there was no diakon pickle!
R. H.
The best pork roll ever, it's been around for over 30yrs my first pork roll was in 1988 I've tried others but nowhere near as good as mascot Hong Ha bakery #👍👍😊
L. “. M. N.
Hong Ha been exist for a long long time, they freshly bake their bread, freshly prep ingredients, value of money is 5 star. Long queue everyday plus they did a lots of catering everyday, expect a long wait and grumpy staff at sometimes. Try to be there before noon to beat the queue !
R. P.
Dumbo Frizell of the Banh mi FB page and the other SJW, woke, soy boys in the admin block everyone if they don't agree with your opinion
E.
Over the years the quality has diminished . Rolls are considerably more expensive while the contents of the sandwiches seam to be decreasing
A. S.
Excellent chicken roll. Expect a queue if you intend to go
R.
Ok so forget any sandwich in Sydney or probably australia. I said it. Hong ha is hands down the best place for a chicken roll or a sandwhich of your choice.
Go there and see the line which can be 20 to 30 meters long at times. Its cheap and tasty. Total class.
The negative is that the way can be long but the ladies that work there do things at a decent pace and not too long after you have your order. There is parking at the rear or on the street infront of the shop but dont count on it.
YOU MUST GET A CHICKEN roll from here. Full stop. Thank me later.
L. B.
Still the same super tast as 1990.
Superb thanks for continuing the great tradition.
Best Vietnamese pork roll 😋
J.
The chicken roll was nice, bread is crunchy and wasn't that expensive.. only sometime the queue is long and can see them talking to each other rather then making the rolls.
L. M.
Always delicious however they use the same tongs as they do with the chilli and unfortunately the kids couldn't eat theirs because of this.
S. S.
Occasionally I visit other Vietnamese bakeries, but every time I come back to Hong Ha, I am reminded why they are a cut above the rest. Perfect bread rolls, exquisitely seasoned chicken and perfectly balanced condiments.
E. K. (.
Luv their bbq pork roll but also luv their rice paper rolls!
C. R.
Yes it's a must ...
Pork crackling roll
Chicken lemongrass roll
M.
Consistantly, clean, flavoursome and well priced food. I’ve been coming here for years. The ques out the door every day and the 7 ladies making rolls all day long arent a coincidence. Dont drive past without visiting.
F. K.
I hope the majority of the high ratings for Hong Ha are based on taste of thier rolls alone. If it wasn't for that then I wouldn't go there. The customer service is down right appalling, and once being 'served' you get the sense that they get annoyed at you because you can't understand them. The ladies that work there are rude, and following your order is like betting on the classic street game of 'Cups and Ball", as your rolls swap hands more times than cash at the races....If you go there, once you reach the counter, State Chicken, beef or pork roll, With chilli or no chilli... and keep it at that. For an easier,no fuss or, try "MR Nam" on bourke street, Mascot, about 3 mins drive from Hong Ha. (you can dine in at Mr Nam's too...)
S. M.
Best rolls ever, you usually have to wait in line but its worth it. Chicken or Meatball rolls with chilli are sensational. $5 each so get 2 & a spring roll.
B. D.
Like a child running downstairs on Christmas morning full of hope and promise, I bounced along Mascot Road in Botany to get in the queue at Hong Ha Bakery after hearing that this little shop did one of the best Banh mi roll in Sydney.
A long time lover of the Vietnamese Baguette Bahn mi I was excited by the possibility of a great example of the Banh mi so close to where we were currently working. Unfortunately, my dreams were dashed like Santa not receiving your Christmas wish list.
I unwrapped by little package to uncover only an average baguette, nothing that the queues or recommendations promised. The bun itself was fine, light and airy with a good crust. The ingredients were all fresh but the pork and pate lacked flavour and left a disappointing mediocre taste in my mouth. Ive had better and cheaper Rolls in Bankstown with less queues and a lot less hype.
J. R.
Heaven on a roll! If I was on death row I would probably order a chicken roll with chilli and a spring roll as my last meal. These rolls rock my world! Totally worth the line up! I'm salivating right now just thinking about them. (Insert Homer Simpson drooling sound effect).
S. B. M.
Hands down the best chicken rolls in Sydney. These are the greatest. Grab a cheeky spring roll for the walk back to the car!
A. L.
Pork rolls are the best, what else can i say
N. L.
Seems to have gone downhill with its rise in popularity.
Still a good local Bahn mi place. But not as spectacular as it use to be.
ask for chilli separately, its HOT....... best to add yourself as not to get a nasty surprise
Y. D.
Should be the best Banh Minh roll in Sydney, they now have more options, price is very reasonable. One of the place you might have to go and try
L. F.
The best rolls and dim sims in town! I'm not sure why people are saying its cash only? I always pay with card. Well worth the wait, nothing compares!!!
M. W.
Best Vietnamese pork rolls in Sydney!
M. P.
Pork rolls tend to be pork rolls, but these are the freshest I've had anywhere. I will be back for more.
C. S.
One of the top 2 favourite pork roll places i go to.. the rolls are baked fresh and you can see by the long queue going pass the luggage shop...
you wont be disappointed.. the best is to have the roll as is and not ask for things to be taken out..
i have tried both chicken and pork, the chicken is my favourite with chili...
A. C.
Fast and quick service. Will see a queue, but they do move fast. Yummy pork rolls. Look forward to try their crispy pork rolls next.
E. K.
Delicious Vietnamese rolls and great value. There's always a queue and it's because they're just so good.
C. E.
One of the best Vietnamese Pork Roll. Everyone just visiting Sydney should try this. Every time I pick up family and friends from Airport, I always introduce them to Hong Ha.
B. H. K.

Best in the area! Super delicious and affordable Banh Mi!
M. N.
Rather bland pork roll. Bread roll is excellent, this is a bakery after all, very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. For the filling... The pickled carrots are very good... but the rest of the filling let's it down. The pate is ok but lacks the graininess of the pate in pork rolls from Viet Hoa, Cabramatta.
T. M.
Always delicious. When there's a long line, it does take a while but it's worth it in the end. Nice staff and there's always a lot of people on to ensure lines move quickly.
R. T.
Lemongrass chicken roll was so good...the baguette was cooked to perfection-crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and the chilli hit was top notch..
S. K.
Probably the best banh mi for the area; I grew up in the west eating the ones from Cabramatta and Bankstown - which can't be beaten, but to save a long car ride to get the best banh mi in Sydney, these guys are a good alternative
J. N.
Absolutely love the Chicken Rolls. Really great value for money. Would be great though if they had more space so that the line up is not so long at lunch time
L. F.
Been going there for yrs and still the best chicken roll ever for a mere $6!
The Chilly is so hot it will knock your socks off
P.
Got to get the chicken roll..worth the wait
V. T.
The chicken and pork rolls are the best. Just be ready to line up and wait during peak times (which is most of the time). Definitely worth the wait.
N. S.
Order a delicious freshly baked bread roll with filling for a tasty Vietnamese lunch and add some chilli for a spicy kick. You'll need to get there before 12 or be prepared to queue.
J. N.
Great place for pork and chicken rolls, very tasty. Get here early before the lunchtime rush or else you’ll be waiting for a while
M. A.
The best Banh Mi ever!!!
F.
banging banh mi. had to test it out because of the historic marrickvile/hong ha banh mi battle. it was close fought, but my award would go to marrickville by a nose. no real specific reason, both incredible traditional banh mis. gorgeous filling and contrasting flavors and the bread roll is just so perfectly crispy yet soft and light. deffo give this shop a pop
T. W.
When you see the cops picking up and order for 50 chicken rolls for their station, and the local airport related businesses do the same, not to mention seeing people que around the corner for a roll, I think it's safe to say this place is good...
S. G.
Been into this hot bread for the past 20 yrs, the quality is fair, much better taste 10 yrs ago
J. B.
Mascot’s gem. Love the rolls
M. S.
My absolute go to - I try to get there before the lunch time rush - but they are so busy that to beat the rush, you have to get there at about 11! I can't get enough. That mayo = amazing.

Very well know for their pork roll. I recommend trying their chicken roll with chilly also.
Note that they would have long queues of over 20-30 people during the peak lunch time.

Used to go regularly and now travel 40Kms from time to time because the chicken/pork rolls are the best. Hey if they chatted to customers as well the queue would stretch to Alexandria
