Comments of Lagom Bakery

A very popular bakery, run by a group of enthusiastic and inspired bakers.
The quality of the pastries will give any big city hipster bakery a run for their money, luckily for them Lagom is in Burrill Lake!
Balance of filling to pastry is perfect, the pastry flakes away with the many laminations worked in, the fruit and custard adds a contrast to the crunch.
The sourdough bread is amazing as well.
The fruit loaf, as the name suggests, is filled with fruits and not just raisins. The dough has a slight sour to it, is dense, with a bit of softness, the fruits are plentiful but don't compromise the structure.

Croissant 4* muffin 1*
Country bakeries are instantly better, right? All that visit of bricks and fires and bakers in bibs, covered in sweat and flour. The bread looks good here, but I'm reviewing the croissant and muffin. When you're open 6 hours, and charging full Sydney prices, you should be baking your croissant every 2 hours or so. The base of this croissant is very good. But it suffers from too much time in a steamy display. My sense is they were stacked while warm, losing their crispness in the steam and time.
The muffin is a real problem. Again, full price for what is essentially a muffin bottom. But the size is a minor problem. The major problem is the recipe. The crumb is just not there. I suspect too much egg and not enough butter, but that's not my role here. It's just not a pleasant eat.
As I said, I suspect the bread's the trip here. But if it's for sale, I'm a gonna review it!

The best coffee and sourdough we have had in a very long time. We loved their selection of pasteries & sourdough loafs, aswell as their environmentally friendly packaging.
We had the pizza slabs which they heated up for us. Absolutely delicious!!
The line was long but moved quickly. Highly recommend this little bakery.

No doubt the bread is terrific, but on 4 occasions we've encountered stones in the olive bread and a date pit in the fruit loaf. I raised this and the broken tooth that resulted. The response was indifference and didn't bother to apologise. Pity, because the products are otherwise high quality. Beware if you value your teeth!

Best coffee and bakery on the south coast. Friendly team.... oh and did I mention the best coffee and bakery on the south coast!!!
Sooooo good. Thank you 👏👏👏

Fantastic product and large sour dough range, great coffee as well!

Fantastic baguettes, made by them on premises, for my freshly made roll. Fantastic experience. Great bread, good feeling, good quantities, even their coffee was very good. I was just passing by in my way to Sydney, but it will have to become a standard stop from now on for when I am in the area.

Amazing bread and coffee - sometimes a bit of a line but they still get your order out pretty fast - it’s worth the wait!

Wow! This bakery is an absolute gem! Their bagels are insanely delicious, they offer so many different varies of freshly baked loaves 😍 my favourite was cheese and jalapeno, but the ancient grain loaf or the house sourdough are brilliant as well! I highly commend the team at Lagom, will be stopping in each and every time I'm passing through.

Absolutely stoked to have an amazing bakery near Ulladulla. Worth the drive, every time.

Great little place for a coffee and snack. The line out the front is a bit daunting when we arrived but worth the wait lots of fresh sour dough and assorted baked goods as well as some condiments for sale, it was very busy over the Easter period as you would expect.

First rate bread and coffee, even chai - just needs to be open more often! 😉

Great coffee, great bread, yummy cakes..and just near Lake Burrill

Get there early as they sell out of just about everything sweet by 8.15am. Would be helpful if they ran out and put up a little sign or tell everyone in the queue that there’s just bread left or something, just so people aren’t waiting in the queue for breakfast, only to be disappointed.
Is it worth the wait you ask??? Hell yeah! Got there the 2nd day just as they opened at 6.30am and still had to wait but finally got to taste the croissants! Sooooo good. The chocolate one is one of the best I’ve ever had (and we live near Lune croissants in Melbourne which are the best in Aus)
Their sourdough loaf is THE best I’ve ever had. Their coffee is also great. Definitely worth getting up early for and if you’re driving through Burrill Lake, for the love of god, stop there! You won’t be disappointed.

Maybe the best croissant I had in Australia.
The croffin is delicious too. Good coffee. Grab your pastries and coffee and walk towards the river. Sit on the bench and enjoy!

Truly special sourdough. Often there’s a line so be prepared to wait. It’s worth it though.

Simply amazing. Get there early, always a queue and they sell out quickly. They serve bread (variations of sour dough), savoury and sweet danishes, croissants (normal and chocolate), cookies, muffins and coffee. Worth the wait.

Have been here a few times now - the food is delicious, unique and reasonably priced, very friendly staff and beautiful coffee. Would highly recommend a visit for a coffee, a treat or a loaf of soft, fluffy sourdough and a stroll down to the lake 👌

Fantastic sourdough. However, the croissants were even better. They were the tastiest we've ever eaten. Well done bakers!
J.
Absolutely delicious pastries and hot cross buns, only let down was the service. No welcome or conversation, the only words spoken were the cost of our order.

Very busy. Amazing sourdough bread

You guys have the best sourdough I have ever eaten. And I ate many sourdoughs in my life.
Well done.

Had a feta sundried tomato brioche which was delicious. However, they don’t make bread or croissants Monday - Tuesday.

The dinner rolls I bought were delicious! And it was perhaps the best brownie I've ever tasted
