I. D.It would be safe to say that Barbell biltong is the best on the market. It is organic, which is awesome. As I travel for work, the biltong is a great snack and gives me the protein I need when it's unavailable. You can use it as a snack or in meals (especially the 1kg bag of jumbles). The team at Barbell are great and will ship your order asap and, if by an off chance you have a problem, they will be more than happy to assist you. Admittedly, I stick with the original flavour but I am sure the Chili version would be just as awesome for the adventurous carnivore.
N.I'd really enjoyed their biltong and decided to try the meat sticks (unfortunately it wasn't to my liking) but the wonderful, generous guys at Barbell gave me a full refund of the 12 pack I bought. Could not have asked for better customer service. Many thanks!

I’ve been accustomed to smoked beef jerky by other companies; air dried was a whole new experience.
These smoked products by other companies tend to have lots of artificial flavour and colouring added, but not these juicy snacks by Barbell foods!
The juiciness of the air dried steak range led me on a culinary experiment. I have only had the privilege so far to experiment with heating up the Spicy beef biltong, using either the microwave for 10 seconds to sizzle up a handful, or frying them up in their own juices.
Making them sizzle adds that warm crispy feeling, a great alternative to bacon if you cannot eat pork!
I couldn’t pull off a majestic photo of the product with the outback as the back drop or an iconic monument. I was too eager to dive into the food, so these are the best photos I could pull off so far.

My favourites are the Benchmark biltong (steaks or pre-cut), biltong jumbles, and Sichuan meat sticks. Am also a big fan of using regenerative agriculture and the focus on simple, quality ingredients.

J. G.I have a standing order with Barbell. Sea salt option is the only biltong where there are no additions added. It’s plain and it is a healthy snack. It’s easy to travel with for a quick eat when blood sugar is low. Great fro those of us doing Carnivore or a higher protein diet. I have an autoimmune condition so the plain no added ingredients option is fabulous. This is a great company and great product. Try it.

J. R.Bought 200g Barbell Organic GRASSFED beef from Woolies. It is more moist and fatty than jerky which is A+++ My Whippet and I loved it. Spices are nice and not too hot for her(my dog) As a keto-carnivore i love the simple ingredients. Also appreciate that it is gluten-free and soy-free.
I admire the grassfed product and support for regenerative agriculture. I haven't been able to buy grassfed beef from Woolies for months in Western Australia, so jumped at your product.

I rarely ever buy biltong unless it's from one of two butchers my family has been using for 15+ year, and freshly cut.

K. T.Genuinely the best jerky i've ever had. I'm pretty health conscious and I love jerky so its always been a compromise but now its not. Most of the time when I eat other jerky I end up feeling overly thirsty and have indigestion but I found out that is purely due to the way they process it. With the Barbell biltong I could consume 400g (2 bags) and feel fine. Oh and that's the other thing its so addictive only way I could stop is if someone took it away from me.

I first discovered this stuff about 5 or 6 (?) years ago, when the guys had a stall at the Bus Depot markets when I lived in Canberra, and I was hooked from first taste. The guys are dedicated to and passionate about what they do and the product is amazing! I've since moved interstate, and for a while would just stock up when I went back to visit, but I don't go back anymore so I've been buying it online for a while... I can't find anything half as good locally or in stores. I have a subscription for the benchmark, which is amazing value, but am still working out how often I need it shipped. The frequency and quantity are completely customisable, and since I still have plenty left just went to sadly cancel my subscription (planning to start another when I got low of course), but discovered they also have a SKIP option!! So I've skipped the next one, but it looks like I can bring it forward if I don't want to wait that long. This is the easiest, most convenient subscription, they really don't trick you with anything, and the product is top quality and arrives so fresh! I love the Benchmark the most, but the meat sticks are also really good! The Burn was a bit hot for me (I'm pretty good with heat, but chilli does sometimes get me, and it does have a bit of burn to it), but I donated it to a friend who is more a fan of chilli and he very much enjoyed it! I could not speak more highly of the product and the ordering process if they paid me (they're not), so get on it and give it a try!!

M. R.I've been buying the grass fed beef and kangaroo sticks and the air dried steak for a while. My 90 year old Dad eats one meat stick a day to get some added protein and quality red meat into him to make up for the aged care facilities food shortcomings. For me, I just eat them cause they taste awesome and they fit the way I eat. Have one every night before dinner with cheese and a red wine.
Recently I made a mistake on an order so I contacted Barbell for advice. There's no need to go into details, but the customer service I received was the best I've ever experienced, and I do a lot of online shopping. A. M.This Beef Jerky is 100% the best on the market!
It is not easy to find Beef Jerky that is tasty and also clean, however Barbell Foods have knocked this one out of the park on both fronts!
The Jerky is super juicey and tasty, with beautiful amounts of fat and marbling for flavour. It has been seasoned just the right amount and with the right ingredients, ensuring the natural quality flavours of the organic meat are perfectly complimented.
Most other companies sneak in nasties like Soy, Gluten, Sulphites or Yeast Extracts which make the snack far less clean.
Also, I find when I eat one of the larger packets of this Jerky I actually feel similar satiety to a small meal.
I could NOT recommend this Beef Jerky enough!
K. W. H.I have tried lots of biltong in both Australia and New Zealand and have become quite picky about which brands I would buy from, but Barbell’s biltong is by far my favorite. I love the texture and the fatty bit adding extra moisture to the meat. The seasoning also tastes great, not too salty like many other biltong I’ve tried, it’s just perfect! Once I start eating, is very hard to stop. So I have to ask my partner to hide it from me (but I always find it eventually)
Not only was I impressed with the Biltong but I felt that Barbell had excellent customer service and communicated well. They contacted me and offered a partial refund because the expected discount didn’t apply for some reason. (How many companies will do that)
I recommend these guys to family and friends.

A.Hands down, the best biltong I've ever come across. Organic regeneratively sustainably farmed meat, no added sugar, no gluten, no soy. If you are eating Paleo/Ancestral/Carnivore/Keto etc etc, look no further. If you want biltong that tastes better than any other biltong on the market bar none, look no further. I've shared this biltong with several friends who love meat, love biltong, but will not sacrifice the taste of their food for health, animal welfare, environment or anything else, and they were all blown away by how good it is, without the need for any of the questionable ingredients they are used to.
Also very fairly priced compared to other biltong I've seen, particularly if you buy in bulk, and particularly considering the quality of the meat they source.
So glad I found these guys, absolutely awesome!

Personally recovering from an ongoing internal bleeding issue, adding Barbell’s biltong and meat sticks to my diet is a no-brainer as the product is packed full of organic and readily available nutrients. Convenience is seldom a healthy choice but Barbell is the exception to the rule. Thanks lads and keep up the excellent work.

D. R.Barbell Foods is founded by my two younger brothers, and their two mates. They started making biltong about 5 years ago, hanging kangaroo steaks to dry in an old cupboard in our garage.
The biltong, in those days, was a lot tougher and drier than the product today, but just as delicious. I took some with me on a month long camping adventure, and it became something of a sacred treasure as I rationed and savoured it in an attempt to make it last the trip (it didn't).
I remember my brother Luke toying with the idea of producing a batch to sell at the local markets. He'd just started his career as a fat cat consultant (or something) at a top financial services firm, but it seemed like an exciting opportunity.
Like most South Africans, I've eaten a lot of biltong (some might say too much), and the product that my brothers had created was right up there with the very best. I also liked that they were producing biltong using only ethically sourced meat and healthy ingredients, with no preservatives or sugars.
The markets were a big success; it turned out that Aussies were just as keen on delicious, spicy, healthy meat snacks as Saffers, and for the last few years my brothers and their mates have been scrambling to keep up with demand, selling out every batch biltong they've produced.
The company has gone from strength to strength, and the product has been refined and improved. It's incredibly delicious, and surely one of the the healthiest and most ethical meat snacks in the world.
This year the company will be scaling up production; moving from a small kitchen into a big factory. I'm very proud of my brothers for navigating the growth of the business without compromising their values.
I look forward to bearing witness to their ongoing success, but mostly I look forward to the delivery of my next hit of The Burn.
