D. L.I booked Gourmet Shin for my 30th birthday in March 2020 and it was the most amazing at home experience. Chef Shin worked hard in our home to produce the best quality and tasty Japanese menu for our party of 8 (+ 2 year old). We were all so full and had the best fun. There was no cleaning or anything to worry about as the house was left in pristine condition.
Would highly recommend for anyone looking for an at home experience 👌🏽
N. H.One of the most special evenings I have had in such a long time, in the comfort of our home! We had Shin and his wife Candice come and deliver the most special dining experience ever! Everything was so carefully thought out, from the gorgeous table setting and decorations to the presentation of the food. I have been to many Japanese restaurants before but having Chef Shin come and cook for us has to be by far my most favourite! The food is sensational, every dish was a masterpiece! I can’t express enough how amazing everything tasted! We ordered the premium menu and it was out of this world! The company, the laughs, the vibe was on point! What really made it special was how close my dining table was to the kitchen, and were able to talk to him and Candice throughout the evening and watching him cook was so special. I 100% can't wait to have Chef Shin and Candice back in my home again. Thank you for a wonderful night!

It was one of the best Japanese sashimi dinner outside of Japan. We had an amazing dinner. Both Shin and Candice were very professional and very friendly. From the start to end, they did everything, setting up, beautiful food presentation and they left the kitchen spotless. They also made a special sashimi plate for our daughter which was very kind of them. A big thank you to Shin and Candice. We definitely will have them back again.

From the moment Shin responded to my booking request, I knew that I was in extremely good hands. Not only was he polite and responsive to my emails, he also guided me through the entire menu selection process and clearly explained the logistics for the night. Shin's efforts left me with the peace of mind that everything would be taken care of, which made planning the evening an absolute breeze.
Upon arrival, Shin and his partner delved straight into decking out our dining table with some beautiful decorations which transported us from our kitchen right into the heart of Japan! We decided to go with Shin's gourmet menu for the evening, and it was immediately obvious how much time, skill, and care that Shin had invested into preparing each ingredient.
Needless to say, this was reflected in the amazing quality of the dishes that Shin delivered, which were all definitely comparable to the quality that you would get in Japan! The portion sizes were also very generous (=fantastic value for money) and we were left feeling very full and very satisfied by the end of the night.
Throughout the night, Shin was not only very respectful and courteous, but he was also a great conversationalist, and the unique stories and experiences that he shared made it seem like we were dining with another friend.
Overall, I would highly recommend Shin to anyone wanting to impress their friends/families/ partners with some of the best Japanese food in Melbourne from the comfort of their own home!
