What a great find this was! Great food - I had a Kimchi Pie and my wife the Crispy Pork, Roti and salad. We followed up with a mixed berry croissant and coffee, again to die for! The proprietors were just so friendly- not intrusive but very friendly. We will definitely be here again!

Amazing home made desserts! A friend recommended this place and we were amazed by it. She even rang them to make my birthday cake (see photo) and told them I loved macarons. The cake which they did was superb! Highly recommend this place.

Chakey and Jin are some of the most hospitable people I've ever met. Their cafe space is beautiful and welcoming, their cakes and pies are top notch, and they can brew a gorgeous cup of tea. I live in the U.S. and this is one of the places I look forward to visiting the most whenever I travel to Adelaide.

Excellent cafe. Pastries are superb, ALL baked on the premises by a trained French patisserie g . Staff are always welcoming, efficient. Coffee is very good. Light meals only. Kid friendly. Toilets available. One of our absolute favourite cafes in the area. **By Blackbird has now moved to 231 Hutt Street, Adelaide, the Southern end of Hutt Street. Jin still served great coffee with his big smile. Limited but adequate menu for a light meal or coffee and a pastry.

It was nice (had the crepe) but pretty expensive for what it was. We also tried a selection of sweets and I wouldn't recommend the matcha crepe cake unless you love matcha. The rest of the selection was nicer. Would only go again for afternoon tea

The By Blackbird Cafe has an industrial format, with a large ornate table and chairs, as centre piece. Also historical photos on the walls, with a large well arranged serving area. We enjoyed our coffee, relaxing on a comfortable sofa. The ambience is very relaxing, with out loud music blaring in the back ground. They supply papers to read and free Wifi is available. The menu is good, with tempting cakes in the display cabinets. Altogether a very good visit.

Closest thing to Real French pastries in Adelaide people. Everytime you bite into one, you'd think you were in France. A lot of pride is taken in each pastry or tarts presentation and the taste is as good as a french boulanger would produce. Note to owners. You absolutely nail the kitchen side of things but the Decor/furnishings let the place down. Apply a french lounge/ bistro chic theme and you'll have line ups out the door. (although that said, it'll ruin it for the rest of us if it gets that busy so dont. :-)
