I highly recommend this place, PLENTY of options for vegans (which is hard to find). I went there with my boyfriend (meat eater) and we both loved it! There’s normally some waiting to get a seat(15-20min) as it seems to be pretty busy. Iced coffee was average but the food was DELICIOUS. Also great value for money ($48 for 2 people, food +drinks) They don’t take reservations, only walk in. Empty plates are the best proof of how great it was!

By far the best coffee spot in Adelaide CBD. Superb ever changing roster of coffees on offer in a range of brew styles with some core favourites that remain staple on the menu. Food is superb and very fairly priced - especially given the location. Plate sizes are good, nothing I've had had made me feel skimped out on in size or quality. Options for all dietary requirements are available. Regular specials also keep the menu fresh and interesting. All staff I've interacted with are fantastic, with a couple of notable standouts among them.

Lovely food, fresh and inventive - a little bit of a wait due to popularity but worth it. Ordered my usual almond flat white but they only have Oat and Soy, which seems a bit odd for a specialty cafe. Location is laneway and cute. Sparkling water is served without asking, which we prefer anyway and was a nice little bonus - would return next time we are in Adelaide

Very relaxed atmosphere with a nice touch of green indoor plants. Great service with helpful staff explaining the coffee. The filter coffee was excellent and you could really enjoy the different tones within the coffee. The menu was modest which was great as it wasn't overwhelming. Pricy coffee and no lactose free option. Spent $6.6 for a regular size soy latte takeaway, the cup is same as small size at other coffee shop. There’s no “lactose free” milk, the staff said they only have soy and oat milk for someone who needs “lactose free” milk.

Further, the coffee is nigh on sublime and the architecture, decor and furniture leaves incredibly little to be desired: a fine place to be, sit, think, talk, socialise and contemplate things. Amazing little coffee place in the East End that serves some of the best coffee in Adelaide. The coffee comes strait from one of Melbourne’s best coffee roasters “ Market Lane” that’s why there cuppa just tastes so good.

Coffee was good, nice touch with the trendy mugs. Good vibe with the outdoor seating however not recommended with large groups. Ordered simple toast and eggs which came out very efficiently. Staff was nice and forthcoming however price of food is expensive. $8 for toast and $13 for eggs on toast. Parking might be a issue due to location however overall 4 Stars. Sunday mornings can be busy.

What a brilliant, barista utopia just off of Rundle Street! Tucked away, this cafe packs a punch in both service and quality of coffee. Very friendly and knowledgable baristas with a flair for Aeropress filter coffee. Impressive coffees all round; ristretto, espresso and filter all top notch. We returned the next day for breakfast and we're very happy with the innovative dishes. A must stop in Adelaide for specialty coffee lovers.

Back from a recent trip to Melbourne, it was great to see The Exchange use beans from Market Lane Specialty Coffee. For coffee lovers, the complimentary sparkling water will bring the most out of the coffee, which is outstanding. The Exchange has a relaxing vibe, family friendly with options to outside if you choose. Unfortunately the only picture taken was of a fig breakfast thing.

There's plenty of coffee around the East End these days. Exchange is the institution though. Great staff. A nice fresh fit out. Good opening hours (an underrated metric). A strong ever changing menu (RIP Boston Beans). And the best speciality coffee in the East. Always a good choice.

Not sure about coffee but food very average and overpriced for what it is. 4 star rating clearly comes from coffee. Would not call this a breakfast place. Brought carbonated water, nice. Then a very basic hot chocolate with no napkin. Then food came out, with spoon and fork but no knife. How to eat haloumi? Small bowl of very liquid and Blant shakshuka with a small good looking but Blant toast. Costs $3 not more. Student meal. Asked for salt pepper and knife. But overall not enough bread for this liquid meal so asked for more. Tried changing $2 for a burnt toast. Could improve service a lot. Won't see $31 again from me.

Lovely place with amazing coffee. A few vegan and vegetarian options, with 2 types of milk alternatives - oat and soy. I had an iced latte on oat milk, my dining partner had a large flat white. We both enjoyed the coffee tremendously. For breakfast I ordered the banana bread and it was perfect. My dining partner had the breakfast brioche and was absolutely satisfied too. Thank you for having a thoughtfully curated menu with thoughtfully considered vegan and vegetarian choices.

First time there and it was a great experience. I was catching up with an old work friend and it's his favourite cafe in the East End; I can see why. Coffee is absolutely delicious, perfect temperature each time. The Breakfast Brioche bun was so good. I was craving bacon and their pancetta was the bomb! Service was attentive, friendly and non-intrusive. Highly recommended.

I always enjoy coming here. Their food is always nice and the location is stunning. The only critique I have is that their coffee tends to have these slight sour notes, which is more noticeable in their soy lattes. It's not necessarily a bad thing but I tend to correlate sour coffees to an unclean group head so hopefully that's not the case. Otherwise, love the staff and everything about it!!

Was pretty disappointed to of walked into a cafe with not many customers and see 4 people that came in after I had ordered and sat down get coffees to their tables before me. I ended up asking for my coffee to be take away as I was limited for time and continued to see many coffees made before mine until I asked if it was being made (I assumed a cup with a shot in it that matched what I ordered was mine), more coffees were poured then it wasn't until I said that, the guy said "yep right now, man" and poured my coffee even though he had another cup in his hand of a customer who came in quite some time after me. The cafe is nice, the coffee was good but the execution of time was terrible and it was that 1 simple thing that made this review average.

Absolutely love this place. The coffee or hot chocolates are amazing every single time. The staff are so friendly. Last time I went in and sat down at the bench, my brother and I ordered some cold coffees and the guy came over and made them on the opposite counter while talking to us about them and what he was doing. Place was busy and seems popular. Pretty standard modern cafe on the inside with newspapers and cool magazines to read. Quite loud inside and pretty warm on a hot day too. Staff member was very friendly and helpful, pretty quick to serve on a busy Sunday morning. Batch brew was great, nothing life changing but a solid cup of coffee. Served with sparkling water which is good. Chickpea Shakshukka was ok ($19). Tastes like plain tomato soup with chickpeas, onion, parsley and poached eggs in it. Not especially spicy or seasoned. Overall I liked Exchange Specialty Coffee.

One word that I can use to describe this place is 'astounding'. The coffee there is brewed to absolute perfection, if you're within the vicinity I highly recommend you pop by and try a coffee out for yourself. The atmosphere of the shop is amazing also, they've got a 50's to 60's vibe going on inside, with wooden tables, metallic seats and awesome music. The actual menu is good also, with a relatively healthy selection of foods.

coffee was nice, staff were friendly. however I was a little upset. the barista told me I could grab a seat and they came to me. I was waiting about 10mins and nobody came, then other customer showed up and they got menu right away. so I just picked up the menu by myself, then they finally came up to me. they talked me friendly, but say nothing about late contact. it was not so busy at the moment; they also cleaned some tables as well. during my stay, some customers came and they all got menu and water immediately. I felt only me was unconcerned. anyways, I guess it is a good cafe for regulars.
