A small and long restaurant, very tall inside with a high dado line on one wall - unusual setting. But to the experience…. I wanted a slow and long meal - I wanted steak - I wanted good wine. I got it all.
Visiting on a Tuesday night (4 other tables) the owner/chef/waiter managed to put it together. Don’t rush, take some time, enjoy life.
The steak with green pepper sauce was amazing - especially with some bread to soak up the sauce. Good wine list and given current restaurant wine prices, fair. Nice selection from France and many by the glass.
A good evening!

The food was exceptional, not the place to go if you’re a difficult orderer (sorry mum) But overall had a really lovely experience and the owner clearly has a passion for his food.

Went here many years ago on my first trip too Adelaide & went back again last night. Still just as amazing as the first time 😀. The food & service is fantastic!! The prices are excellent for the portion size & the quality of the food. The owner & his staff are very welcoming & attentive. This is without a doubt my favourite restaurant in Adelaide!!

Paris in Adelaide. The best food hands down outside of France. A feast, artistry, the plate is the canvas and the chef paints a beautiful memory that will last. I'm putting this as my favorite restaurant in Adelaide.

Waited 20 mins for the staff to take our order, and another 50 mins for the food to arrive (keep in mind there were only 5 tables, not a full house). Food was okay but slightly overpriced. Ordered a medium rare steak but it came out over cooked. For a white tablecloth restaurant, it would have been a better experience if they were not understaffed.

Delicious. A cultural experience. a little visit to France (without the price of the plane ticket) I would definitely like to visit again.

The food was very traditional French cuisine, the chef served my table and was very engaging.
Do not let the neigh sayers sway your opinions of this hidden gem

A hidden gem. If you enjoy authentic French cuisine, then this is the place for you. Beautiful food and great service. Indulge yourself.

A gem in dining, for wonderful French food in Adelaide. Vic and his staff create excellent food, and a congenial atmosphere. We've been going for years, and it is consistently good, highly recommended, extensive wine list, also helps

Wow, some extremely harsh reviews here! Nothing wrong with the food or service in my opinion. Our meals (duck two ways and pork with dates and brandy sauce) were delicious. No extra seasoning required! Also very nice Roquefort salad. For much of the evening we were the only patrons which was initially concerning on a busy Friday night but nothing about our experience explained the lack of customers. Sure, not the best French food I've ever had but tasty and enjoyable.

Excellent French food.
We really enjoyed our meal out this evening. It is our last night in Adelaide, and a perfect way to end our holiday. The waiter allowed us to try the wine we were thinking of ordering, which was a nice touch and appreciated. The food was cooked as requested, and the sauces were beautiful. A good range of food on the menu, and complimented well by the specials. Good choice of meat and fish. Pudding was very tasty, and rounded well by the port.
The waiting staff were friendly and attended to us well.

We walked past this restaurant when the chef was writing up the daily specials and thought it would be a nice way to finish up our Adelaide holiday. We really enjoyed our meal - unlike the review below our garlic prawn entree was superb with four delicious prawns. The main courses of veal and pork had very tasty sauces which were mopped up with their home made bread. Crepes for dessert were delicate and sweet. The corner bistro had a homely feel with excellent service and an extensive wine list. Despite being addressed with French greetings neither waiter knew about Bastille Day this weekend! But that was the only disappointment. Recommended.

Food was OK but nothing amazing. Small thing but annoyed me was the house bread. For $3.50 served what was akin to a very small bread roll sliced. Served without any accompaniments, had to ask for butter and then noticed on the bill charged an extra $1.40 for this, not advised there would be any extra cost. Service requires some work. Had to consistently ask again for already ordered items. Also staff need to be better trained in both food and wine being sold. When trying to order one of the French wines I was advised a large number of them were "waiting for stock" even their special on the chalkboard wasn't available so why have it on the board?

A nostalgic visit for me. I used to come here regularly about 5 years ago when I worked in Adelaide. Popped in for dinner on a Saturday with little notice and they fitted us in. Service has been great, food has been as good as I remembered Nd the suggested wines have been spot on. I'll be looking forward to coming here again next time I'm in town.

Best food I've ever experienced. Service was fantastic. Amazing ambience. Absolutely divine. It was very busy and I was dining alone, but I felt very comfortable and the service was so attentive! I can't recommend highly enough.

The numerous 1 star reviews below seem very suspicious to me. We just enjoyed a solid French dinner; the tarragon chicken and the entrecôte with green pepper sauce were both perfect. So was the potato gratin and desserts. This is excellent BISTRO food at perfectly reasonable prices.

I am like other recent reviewers that I cannot understand the one star reviews. The corner bistro was great and would easily be found on any good Paris corner.
The sevice was typically French. Attentive and efficient without being in your face. The food was excellent. Simple in design but full of flavour and perfectly executed.
This restaurant is well worth the visit if you love good French style food.
Tres bien

Service was OK but a bit inept: think that we were served by the manager. There was a special deal of entree & main for $30 or something like that, but he had no idea which dishes were available for that deal. He said that he would get back to us but didn't, so we had to ask him again. He seemed reluctant to provide us with the special, which seems stupid: why have it on the menu if you don't want to serve it??? Food was very fine quality, but small serves (expected that for this style of cuisine) and quite expensive. I would be happier to return if they reduced their prices. Coffee was excellent.

If you are in a rush, or are in someways disposed against the French, do not go here. If you want stunning french food, here's your place. All 4 courses were superb. You get what you pay for, so either reviewers don't understand this concept or are generally cheap.
Quiet atmosphere, you can hold a decent conversation with companions. Staff were friendly and obliging. Head chef/owner comes out often. All round good experience.

Overall a great meal, good music and a surprisingl tasty house wine. The fish was slightly overcooked and a couple of minor items were missed from our order but were quickly seen to by earnest wait staff so not a big inconvenience - would recommend for a quiet night of rich flavourful food :)

We had a wonderful experience @ The Corner Bistro last night. The staff were extremely welcoming & pleased to invite us to our table. The food was absolutely delicious, from the entrée to dessert. We were totally delighted with standard of the cuisine.

My experience with this restaurant started good, the person who served us seems like the manager/owner. He was polite in the beginning, but didn't feel professional enough for the price, which is still fine. At the end of my meal when I approached the counter to settle my bill, I was sent back to my seat and told that my bill will be with me really soon. After about 10 minutes, it still didn't seem like my bill is coming, so I asked the waitress to fetch me the bill. Another 10 minutes later, the person who served me at the beginning literally threw my bill at my table from about a meter away and just turned away with a really annoyed expression on his face. Me and my friend was totally taken by surprise and didn't understand what triggered the reaction. It took him about 5 minutes more to come back to collect my payment.

Its a cold night in and im visiting adelaide, looking for a place to eat by myself and im a huuuge food lover, this place was fantastic! Stumbled in on a quite wednesday night and was greeted by a friendly french girl. I havnt found anyother place that does escargot in australia yet and their entree of it was delicious! For mains i had the same dish as a previous reviewer the mint lamb. It was the most tender lamb i have EVER had and the sauce! So flavoursome. Coupled with a glass of wine, original and cute decor and ambient music, my first night here in adelaide was a huge success ! Slightly pricy but for such delicious meals sooooo worth it. Quick service on food aswell, it was a quite night though. 10/10 will be coming here again with all my food lover friends! Waiting on dessert now and i have very high hopes

Delicious food, good wine, a welcoming atmosphere and a charming host. The salmon steaks melt in your mouth.

Average French food, not suitable for a large group but reasonable for couples. Had a dish with "truffle" was fake truffle oil not the real deal. Small servings.

Outstanding French cuisine and experience. The food is divine and authentic. Be sure to indulge and order the cheese platter to finish your meal. It is a generous selection

I dont know what everyone is saying about how the food was bad because it was wonderful!! Especially the potato bake.. the staff was lovely. It took a while for food but that was fine with me.

Friendly service with good food. They pace the courses the French way, giving you time to enjoy the food and the company. Not a place to go when you are in a hurry.

The service will be slow and the food will always be stunning. I find that it's best to let the owner do his thing. It is worth the wait. Do not go here if you are in a hurry.
