Comments of Barnacles

We had a great experience feeding the wild dolphins. We were lucky to have a Mum and baby come in too. $10 a fish to feed the dolphins. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and gave a very informative talk whilst waiting for the dolphins to arrive. It's a very well run procedure and all the volunteers work well to make this a unique experience. My only suggestion would be to try and repair the small ramp that goes to the beach so the elderly and disabled area little safer. The Cafe was well run & pancakes were delicious.
J. Q.
Awesome experience feeding dolphins here. There are limited spots and it costs $10 per person. Come early to make sure you get a spot. Also, there is heaps of parking nearby. Once you get a token, you’re definitely going to get the opportunity to feed the dolphins as they only provide enough tokens- so you don’t need to be scared or rushed! The staff are all very friendly and courteous; they educate you about the history of the place and the dolphins’ names and lives, then they also make sure you are comfortable and safe during the feeding!
G. A.
We had an amazing experience again at Barnacles with the family and feed the dolphins. The dolphins were late for the 7am time but absolutely worth the wait. They were beautiful and the staff friendly.
D. S.
Loved feeding the beautiful dolphins! Wonderful experience to learn more about the Australian Humpback Dolphins and to get so close to them in the wild. Volunteers were great and worked hard to ensure a good experience for everyone.
T. B.
A serene spot at the tip of Tin Can Bay, perfect for a breakfast or lunch stop and also includes take away options. Dolphins like to come and visit in the mornings too, which alone is worth seeing.
A. L.
This is a great local experience that is affordable for all families. The cafe also has cheap prices ( bacon and egg muffins starting at $5) through to grilled snapper chips and salad for $20) and a reasonable specials board. Staff are really friendly highly recommend.
M.
This place was amazing for breakfast. The girls are warm and friendly, they were helpful, I wanted to order eggs Benedict and there was no Spinach so they substituted for Mushrooms and tomato instead which was flexible and extremely generous. Food came out fast, it was prepared for take away, it was fresh and delicious. Definitely recommended 👌
R. T.
Staff are very friendly and informative. Seeing the wild dolphins up close is amazing, being able to feed them is an incredible bonus. The kids loved it, this was our 3rd visit and I'm sure it won't be our last.
T. M. P.
We love coming back here. Feeding the wild dolphins is an unique, beautiful experience. Big crowd nowadays even at 6 AM. The volunteers are doing an excellent job to accommodate everyone. Coffee and food at the cafe is excellent. Our children loved the books written by Norma and they were lucky to meet her in person and she kindly signed the books for them. Top-rated experience in Cooloola region.
A. U.
Great place to have lunch. The staff member was lovely. Bit of a wait as it was quite busy. Can't wait to come back and see the dolphins.
R. B.
Visited again Jan 14th 2022, new owners now but much the same apart from the price increasing and the serve size a little rediculous, I found the massive piece of hamberger meat dry and uninteresting, ask for a small serve ! Still no fans in the seating area and I thought everyone was nice but a little less interested in us! ********old review >> Barnacles is a basic food outlet but the food is great, we had half a burger with the lot each and chips for $18, could barely eat it all. There is plenty of covered outside space to sit and eat with water views. It seems a little disorganised as 90% of it's business is cramed into 10% of the building but the staff deal with it and will try to make sure you get what you want. A few fans would be great for people that have trouble with humidity. It's also the place which offers dolphin feeding, this I must do one day.
B. G.
You come for the Dolphin feeding and stay for the food. The dolphin feeding experience is amazing, wild river dolphins local to the area come once a day in the morning for a feed. The volunteers give a talk and then you line up to feed them. Great experience for kids and grown ups alike. The food at the cafe is good, the service is fast and friendly. Not too expensive either.
C. C.
What an absolute amazing experience. I take my hat off to the wonderful volunteers, it is so easy to see that you are truly passionate about the dolphins and educating people. 10/10
D. “. S.
The notion of feeding dolphins is epic and that experience alone was amazing for the kids.
Unfortunately the execution isn't the finest. Staff are friendly enough, however if you line up from 6am to feed dolphins with young kids, enter at 7am and then are told to wait for hours to actually feed the dolphins because there was no order to those who were there first being served first.
A simple ticket with a number would allow first in to be first to feed so it is equitable. Our experience ended up being a few hours then to feed the dolphins. Aside from that. A good experience, just poor execution.
A. G.
This was an awesome experience. We got there just after 6.30 am and there were already people in line. The information about the dolphins was awesome, loved every bit of it, especially when the dolphins were showing off or mucking around with each other. Kids loved feeding the dolphins, we all got so much out of it.
C. R.
The Dolphin feeding was great, lots of information & very friendly knowledgeable volunteers.
The cafe on the other hand wasn't as good, the staff were unprofessional with inappropriate language. We were over charged & there was no sauce on food (after asking for it too). Hopefully it was just an off day for them.
B. J.
Kudos to the volunteers who put on a lovely show despite the pouring rain. Great coffee served at the premise. Incredible history behind the dolphins showing up everyday over the years. We had a shy 7 year old who was a little wary about approaching the dolphin and feed it, but the volunteer handler was very encouraging and patient with him... All up, a wonderful experience that is managed by a patient, highly knowledgeable and skilled team of volunteers. Highly recommended.
T. M.
What a great experience for everyone. We had so much fun meeting Luna, Patch, Ella and Aussie and her new calf/mahi. The volunteers are so lovely, full of knowledge, passionate and up for a chat. A big shoutout to Sam and the kindhearted character Pete who just made our experience so special.
Don’t forget to treat yourself to the cafe. The egg, sausage and bacon muffins are awesome and the chai latte are delicious.
P. P.
We arrived looking for quick breakfast and discovered the dolphin feeding. Just lovely. Venue very rustic, staff very friendly and helpful. Sausage and egg burger a treat.
Y. Y. E.
Amazing experience. The dolphins were amazing and the staff great, very kind and informative, and very protective with the dolphins, which is great!... Love it! Waking up that early was definitely worth it! (4am to leave Brisbane at 4:30)
M. B.
This is an excellent experience. Highly recommend you try it even if the weather isn’t great. Be prepared to be patient and let everyone take their turn. The dolphins are super friendly. The staff were all helpful and happy. Food isn’t worth talking about but it will get you fed.
P. P.
Nice experience I think you need to place numbers on the cards as we were second there and after the talk were pushed towards the back when it came to feeding the dolphins. People that came in the second round pushed infront of us as there was no one making sure that the first group got to feed first.
b. r.
Fantastic experience. Took my two young boys along to feed the dolphins. They had a great time. It's not everyday you get to hand feed wild dolphins
L. L.
45min waiting under the sun for 10 seconds feeding…… wear swim clothes would be easy
J. L.
Loved to see the wild dolphins come in, volunteers are lovely. Dolphins are well cared for, having Department of wildlife on site watching feeds. Limited spots available for feeds as its so popular. Kudos to staff, place gets so busy!
M. S.
Great experience. Make sure you get there early during school holidays to avoid a line up. Even with a large line, everyone got to feed the dolphins, and didn't wait long. Kids loved it. Bring a towel.
S. P.
Great job! Thank you for volunteering and provide the opportunities to feed the dolphins. It was a great experience and we managed to make a video (see upload).
K.
This is such an amazing experience. Sadly due to Covid the length of time you spent with the dolphins was limited, but hopefully now Covid is easing, the stays with the dolphins will be longer. But for the price, it was an amazing experience
D. N.
What an amazing place.
Run by volunteers you soak the history of the first injured humpback dolphin nursed back to health and released in the early 50s and came back for feeding and now today we saw 5 come in to feed.
We hand fed Mistique a 29yo who regularly brings in sunken beer bottles balancing on his nose in exchange for fish😃
J. L.
We got to hand feed dolphins down at Tin Can Bay, such an amazing experience🐬
$10 for a fish each and the chance to get up close and personal to these magical creatures. Make sure you come early as they run out of fish and it gets pretty busy! (try to get there around 6.30 am or earlier)
We then had a lovely breakfast at the cafe as well which was great.
This is a must do!!

The volunteers are amazing, it is such a great little experience to see wild dolphins.
PLEASE REMEMBER.....
These are wild dolphins and they do what they want when they want, some days you will get 5 other days only 2 come in, each dolphin can only have a limited amout of fish and they pay for the licence to feed them plus insurance etc so please be nice to the volunteers.
breakfast from the Cafe was really good 😋 💖💖💖💖💖
S. W.
Amazing opportunity to feed wild dolphins. Also make sure you check out the souvenir shop and see the outstanding wood work!
Then after all that a delicious breakfast.
a. w.
Get there nice and early so you don't miss out on feeding the dolphins. Have breakfast at the cafe while you wait.
They get you into the water to about knee deep so make sure you're wearing shorts or a short skirt.
I. L.
Great location, great food and if you are early enough you can feed Dolphins. Food can be a little slow when it’s busy, but it is worth it.
J. B.
What a lovely morning! The staff were so informative and lovely. Its quiet a quick time but worth it! My little one was a bit nervous but we didn't feel rushed at all!
B. A.
This is a great experience for a reasonable price. You're taught something about dolphins and can stand in the water near them and take lots of photos. For an extra cost, you can also feed them a fish. It's fantastic for kids and adults alike.
R. P.
Great experience. Shame it's such a limited time to feed. But great just the same. Dolphins put on a cheeky playful display for us. Informative session about the dolphins. Book available to purchase and a photo album of pictures.
a. b.
A wonderful experience and a great Cafe. With good food and good service.
S. B.
Brilliant morning spent at the centre. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly, the food was delicious and quick to come out. Everyone gets equal amounts of time in the water with the dolphins. Made my daughters birthday 20 out of 10 she told me
X. P.
The dolphin feeding is amazing. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and it’s great to be able to see wild dolphins up so close and get to feed them. Be careful of the stupid birds trying to steal fish.
A must see and do for anyone in the area, worth at least an hour car trip to get there early for it. 🐬🐬🐬
M. V.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the experience and the stories/ knowledge of the dolphins while we waited.
M. M.
Fantastic morning learning about hump back dolphins then having the chance to feed them. Cheap entertainment, a must visit.
J. L.
Nice to see the dolphins, but they want you there at 7 am to spend as much money as possible. Feeding only start at 8am, if the dolphins arrive at all. Got there at 7am with a long queue already waiting. Amazing how these " wild" dolphin will hang around for an hour to get a few fish. Good for the kids....
S. B.

s. b.
A little activity that kids would really enjoy, three generations of this pod of dolphins have been coming to be fed every morning. I saw bad reviews about staff maltreating them and I was worried but didn't seem like the case. it just feels very touristy and a bit forced, it's not as exciting as suddenly seeing dolphins in the wild! The feeding is at 8am so just go a little earlier to see them up close (but you don't have to be there at 7 like they say, unless you want a full hour!).
There is a little post to tie your dog too as obviously they can't go in the bay.
R. K.
Great place to see the dolphins each morning, enjoy a nice coffee and a great steak sandwich. Very friendly staff too.
P. P.
Nice experience I think you need to place numbers on the cards as we were second there and after the talk were pushed towards the back when it came to feeding the dolphins. People that came in the second round pushed infront of us as there was no one making sure that the first group got to feed first.

Lovely place, staff were kind and experienced, 3 dolphins came that morning. Feeding experience is amazing!
S. B.
Amazing friendly and helpful staff.
Food was beautiful and chef and all staff went above and beyond to ensure my children with allergies could eat safely.
L. B.
Lovely to get close to dolphins and enjoy some breakfast.

A. R.
Good food and coffee, great dolphin experience.
J. M.
Beautiful experience. We were so lucky to be near them and feed them. The people are really lovely and obviously care very much about them. A lovely birthday for my daughter.
P. S.
Old style cafe. Coffee was good. Late breakfast was had and it was fantastic for the price. Go the Bacon and Egg Dulux roll with chips.
Staff/Owners so helpful and courteous.
R. N.
Must visit if you are near tin can bay. There was a lot more people than I had expected. Lots of parking. I guess almost everyone was allowed in. Feeding has limited passes but still there were a lot. Around 4 dolphins came in and was good experience. Kids will love it. The staff are great and well organized. There is a cafe right there - so you can feed yourselves and the dolphins at the same place 😀
S. B.
What a wonderful experience. Get here early check the website for details. Watch out for the birds who are keen for a free feed. They do coffee and breakfast very well run place.
S. W.
Inexpensive way to get up close and personal with dolphins, but you don’t really get to interact with them or see them do any tricks. Nice cafe on-site for a quick bite to eat, and very friendly staff who made the experience quite enjoyable.
A. F.
Great place to see the Dolphins, they used to come in when the fishing boat arrives. You are given a fish to hold to hand to the Dolphin this was my experience year's ago. I went along later in the day but it was closed. If you get there extra early you can sometimes see them swimming around.
M. S.
It has been an amazing experience to see this beautiful animals so close. We've been really lucky to be there on a quiet day and loved the atmosphere with the volunteers beeing so relaxed, informative and respectful with the dolphines. Would recommend above any expensive whale or dolphin watching tour
G.
Definitely worth the wait. Great staff manage a balanced feeding process with smiles and stories. Don't leave your fish unguarded 👍
F. S.
Wonderful experience
Fantastic food. Exceptioal friendly staff & volunteers. Highlight of our trip!
E. D.
There were a few negative reviews on here which really surprises me having been today - what an amazing experience!
It’s so surreal to see wild dolphins up close and so still - Mystique and Patch stayed put the whole time throughout the presentation that Marilyn and Annette provided.
$10 to feed a dolphin, take some incredible pictures and support these volunteers so they can keep on feeding the dolphins and doing such brilliant work. (You can pay by EFTPOS, they accept both cash and card)
Best $10 I’ve spent - make sure to get there before 7am though to get in and make sure you can feed the dolphins as tickets are given on a first come first serve basis!
S. W.
We have now been 2 mornings in row. While the experience of feeding the dolphin was wonderful, the staff are a little rude! We all paid for the entry and to feed the dolphins, but because my husband was on the beach taking photos of our children feeding the dolphins he was told he needed to leave. They just assumed he wasn't a paying customer instead of politely asking. Just because he has a professional looking camera doesn't put him in the professional category. Also the feeding happens so quick and you can't get into the water to take a great photo of the experience. only the person feeding is allowed to enter the water. So its hard to capture that really great photo for the keep sake. And they rush the people through. So while we enjoyed the experience, Unfortunately we don't have a great photo which is a little disappointing as we were doing it for my daughters 6th birthday gift. It really wouldn't take much for Barnacles to fix this so everyone could have a 5 star experience.
S. A.
Great guides. Good spot for brekky as you wait to see the dolphins. Unique experience you won't regret.
L. R.
We got to feed the dolphins. It was very well organised by volunteers who were amazing. The food at the cafe after was yummy and very generous portions.
D. A.
Excellent place to visit, informative for adults and children alike an inexpensive and informative and barnacles cafe has great food as well as good live music
P. B.
Can be crowded so go early. Starts at 7. Breakfast is great. You only get to feed one fish but aside of that it is very informative and the crew (all volunteers) are nice people. Price: $5 to get in, $5 extra for a fish to feed. Worth it!!!
M. M.
Very busy. It worth the wait. Volunteers do an excellent job.
L. R.
Very informative talk about the local dolphins! Was amazing being able to feed a wild dolphin a fish
A.
Great place to view and feed the Dolphins
$10 per person, I would advise arriving by 6.30 to make sure that you can buy a token to feed them, we had 3 Dolphins turn up for feeding. A week day is better as less people there.
The staff are volunteers and do a great job
N. E.
Perfect stop. Only 5 $ to feed a dolphin. Highly recommended!! Every day at 8 o’clock
J. P.
What a great experience with the dolphins. They are so beautiful and the volunteers were kind and knowledgeable. A real treat to see the dolphin's interactions with people.
K. B.
Lovely little cafe with undercover seating overlooking the estuary. Also the place you come to buy tickets at 7 am to see the wild dolphins. Good sized servings of fresh, hot food. Fish and chips were lovely. Burgers looked great. Recommended
D. N.
Had the Dolphin Experience. Run by Volunteers. Pete was so lovely, he gave me 2 fish because i had been sick with cancer. The Dolphine's are wild & its a wonderful experience feeding them. $10 for a token.Love that it is untouched by commercialism
B.
Fantastic to see the dolphins.
One suggestion when talking about environment and reducing single use plastic, seems mad to then have a sit in and coffee and kids hot chocolates in a takeway cups with a single use plastic lid. We have to lead by example otherwise how can we expect to change or educate children. Paper cup may be recyclable but its all single use and the plastic lid, is plastic heading to landfill as I saw.
s. b.
A little activity that kids would really enjoy, three generations of this pod of dolphins have been coming to be fed every morning. I saw bad reviews about staff maltreating them and I was worried but didn't seem like the case. it just …
D. H.
So amazing. You can see wild dolphins which you can also feed for 5$. That will tell you a lot about the life of the dolphins. It is really worth a visit we just loved it. And they have also a nice barbecue area next to the sea so you enjoy your breakfast there afterwards.
A. C. (.
Cool experience, getting to feed wild dolphins for only $10. Highly recommend, well worth the early morning drive on Easter weekend.
R. E.
I go here once or twice a month while staying in Tin Can Bay. It's pleasant in the morning after the dolphin feeding crowd have left. Food is reasonably priced and tasty.
s. b.
Love it they tech you a lot about dolphins
R. K.
Highly recommended. $10 a head and get there early to get the feeding ticket! 6:45am at least!
J. K.
What an amazing experience feeding dolphins in their natural habitat. These dolphins have had a long relationship with humans and you definitely see the connection. They come every morning at 7-8am. $5 to watch. $10 to feed.
S. B.
Amazing friendly and helpful staff.
Food was beautiful and chef and all staff went above and beyond to ensure my children with allergies could eat safely.
R. I.
All run by volunteers who do a great job. Dolphins are amazing. Only got to see one but these are wild dolphins who come for a feed if they want. Pls remember this, it is not a Sea world type deal, it is a relationship built over 50yrs between humans and animals all run solely by volunteers not paid employees. I loved it. I have no photos as I wanted to enjoy the moment.
S. H.
Beautiful experience with humpback dolphins ❤️ they also have the cafe there and you can grab something to eat, very kind and nice staff 😊
d. m.
Love the feeding of the dolphins, especially mystic 😍 breaky wasnt bad either 😁😁😁

Wonderful experience to see Dolphins close up Abd learn so much about them.
A. L.
Great way to get up close and personal with these awesome creatures. Volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable. Good food at the cafe too.
A. C.
Come in early by 7:15 , really good job conserving the wild dolphins !!
P. W.
Good place to learn about dolphins, very nice people. Good organisation and is always for a good cause.
E. T.
Very affordable and lots of fun.
FOH was very polite and helpful.
Tip. Get there early!
K. N.
Great personalised information on the hump back Dolphins. $5 to see & receive information on each of the Dolphins. $5 to feed the Dolphin. Its really important not to touch Dolphins
P. S.
Really well organised ! Learned so much - thank you to all the volunteers.
A. H.
A well organized educational experience with the endangered Australian Humpback Dolphin.
S. M. P.
Can't thank you guys enough, how kind thoughtful the staffs are. We don't eat bacon, and I asked if I can have smoked salmon instead. They followed it up and informed me that the sausage in the meal is pork, but they can do beef instead as I mention I don't eat bacon. Wow!! To be honest that's a very touching moments for me. Thank you..thank you..the meal was big, our eyes definetly bigger than our belly 😅😅. Will come back again next time ❤❤
S. H.
He had a great breakfast there while feeding the dolphins
S. A.
Really nice coffee and friendly service.
A serene space down by the water.
Got there too late to see the Dolphins, but the staff let us know they tend to arrive about 7am.
Cost is $10 per person to feed them.
Z. C.
Great fun, nice cafe too. The volunteers do a great job making sure everyone is looked after.
O. T.
Nice to see wild dolphins. 10$ fee for feeding and entree or 5$ only entree. Feeding time every morning at 8am. Nice valuable breakfast available as well.
S. N.
Great little place - and it's not all about the Dolphins - Tin Can Bay is beautiful
K. K.
Passionate people that care about the dolphins first and foremost. Good experience, respectful of the animals.
M. C.
Food, Coffee and hospitality was amazing, my new go to place in Tin Can Bay for friendly service and great food, highly recommend!
w. p.
As well as having a first class..up close of the Dolphins...the Coffee and Breakfast are great at a good price...a must visit.
S.
Dolphins arrive each morning between 7-730am, feeding starts at 8am. 4 adult dolphins come up to be fed and another 3 swam around the bay just behind. $5 entry to see them and $5 to feed them a little fish - it's worth mentioning to any kids with you that they'll have to hold a fish because while the volunteers were incredibly patient, many kids threw tantrums. Coffee and food at the adjoining cafe is good and you get a discount on certain things if you've paid to see the dolphins. Definitely recommend making the trip to come see and feed the dolphins!
M. G. C.
W.O.W!!! What a wonderful experience! So special! Congratulations to the centre and the volunteers for the care and education you bring to every feeding. We loved every minute. Would definately come back. Even if you miss the feeding, Barnacles has a great little cafe there. They serve cuppas and some special treats. You should definately come and relax here. You'll have a great time while you are contributing to conservation and education.
L. H.
Nice friendly cafe staff. Ok hash brown. Ok coffee. Egg and bacon roll was a bit dry. Amazing scenery. Incredible animals with caring staff that clearly love their jobs.
V. P.
Dolphin feeding is run by volunteers, who are very nice people and give great information about these wild animals, but the actual organisation of the mornings event could be better.
The breakfast we had at the cafe was delicious and good value.
B. W.
Awesome experience. The dolphins take the food out of your hand. The breakfast and coffee is great.
P. K.
The Dolphin feeding could have been so much better, I know it's only volunteers organising the event, but paying $10 each to stand in the hot sun, trying to listen to a second rate talk on second rate sound equipment. Then a 15 second dolphin feeding experience. It was very amateurish to say the least. Plenty of young kids getting bored is not a good thing. Did enjoy the short interaction, watching the Dolphins though.
R. P. L.
Wow
The dolphins are just beautiful.
Today 5 dolphins turn up for feed
$10 for 1 feed (1 fish)
Great experiences .. great food at cafe .. lovely smile volunteer everywhere to assist you ..
Coz covid restriction
Waiting period s bit more
We will be back next time we are in Tin Can Bay.
L. G.
Wonderful morning spent at Barnacles Tin Can Bay feeding the dolphins.
N. S.
What a great experience the dolphin feeding was. I would 100% reccommend.
A. B.
Staff are always friendly and the food and coffee are always good...
S. H.
You know, its an amazing feat, managing a dolphin feeding experience like Barnacles. Particularly during a pandemic. Not only do you need to consider the very stringent requirements for handling WILD dolphins, and the daily possibility that the dolphins simply wont show up for their free feed, but, also the people factor.
During all this uncertainty, I have only two tips.
First, be early to get in the first 50 or be late so you're not waiting too long. Those who are in between will be languishing in the parking lot.
Second, while you're waiting to get to the dolphins, order breakky and a coffee, and support a worthy local business.
S. D.
Great cafe, friendly staff and amazing atmosphere
N. O.
Such a beautiful place to takethe family.
K. F.
What a great experience would highly going to feed the dolphins something I will never forget
M. C.
Loved feeding the dolphins. Ladies are very knowledgeable. Good breakfast too
M. B.
The best experience you can do in Tin Can Bay. You are allowed to feed wild dolphins for 5$. Right now there is also a little baby dolphin you can see if you are lucky because the dolphins come whenever they want to and are not forced to come to the beach.
T. C.
Fantastic experience to see and learn about these local dolphins. A lot of care and attention was taken to ensure the dolphins felt safe and comfortable around us human visitors. Top place and I'd definitely do this again
D. A.
The waitress was a bit short with me to begin with when I asked where the menus were. Not very impressed, however she improved and the food was nice. I want to go back to see the dolphins one morning
A. R.
Good food and coffee, great dolphin experience.
N. E.
Amazing dolphin feeding experience. Very friendly, welcoming staff who are happy to answer questions regarding the dolphins. One of the best attractions at Tin Can Bay.
p. r.
A bit rough around the edges... but getting there! Good staff. Unique experience with the Dolphins
Definitely worth a visit!
D. K.
Dolphins feeding at 6:30 am...
M. P.
The dolphins were awesome! This place is incredible, i still can't believe how smart the dolphins are! They trained soo many people to come every day, feed them and support the local tourism industry's! Incredible! The line was a bit long to go feed them but when in line everyone has the agility to observe the beautifull creatures of the sea as well as take pictures!
D. L.
Unique dolphin feeding experience but due QLD gov law humans are not allowed to touch dolphins.
J. K.
The volunteers are making a great job! How they show us the dolphins and tell there stories, are really informative. On of the best wildlife experience I had
J. H.
loved it. amazing. ill be coming back. the staff are absolutely amazing. 5 ⭐
A. S.
Its so busy!! I'm complaining for the sake of constructive feedback, but it takes ages just to get a take away coffee. Best to enjoy this cafe while seated.
M. W.
Staff were lovely our family enjoyed the experience
B. C.
Well run and efficient
L. G.
Wonderful morning spent at Barnacles Tin Can Bay feeding the dolphins.
M. C.
Loved feeding the dolphins. Ladies are very knowledgeable. Good breakfast too
S. D.
Friendly, relaxed and organised. A good mini outing with or without kids. Feeding the dolphins was a lovely experience.
J. S.
Perfect sweet place with wild animales!
M. P.
The dolphins were awesome! This place is incredible, i still can't believe how smart the dolphins are! They trained soo many people to come every day, feed them and support the local tourism industry's! Incredible! The line was a bit long …
M. W.
Staff were lovely our family enjoyed the experience
M. E.
Great place to get up close and personal with dolphins. Run by volunteers. Amazing people.
N. R.
Visited here twice. It was the cafe at the Dolphin feeding facility and we went early for the feeding and viewing and returned next day for a coffee. Liked it both times.
S. W.
Happy well fed dolphins!
L. E.
Great experience feeding a dolphin
J. W.
Lovely place to visit with kids. They really got a kick out of feeding the dolphins. To get the history and background story was a bonus.
J. T.
Lovely experience. So happy the dolphins came to feed. They are so gentle. Great breakfast too.
T. B.
Even though they were about to close they still took our order with a big smile. Food excellent, staff oh so friendly. Thank you so mu h.
M. M.
Beautiful setting on the water. Rustic dining. Meals well presented and excellent quality. Staff were well presented, polite and extremely helpful. We had a group booking and management had tables well presented
S. P.
Loved this so much well worth $10 ❤ thankyou so much x
J. A.
Kids loved it and the breakfast was great
B. P.
Price maybe a little to much. Esp seeing the people who are there are volunteers. However for my daughter the experience was great. Coffee nice too whilst you wait. It pays to get there early. If later you may skip the wait depending on the crowd. You may also miss the dolphin. I would only do once.
M. W.
Amazing, hand feed wild dolphins.
K. F.
I think the only downside to this attraction is that although there is wheelchair access to the cafe, there is none to the actual dolphin feeding itself. However, I am certain, if the incapacitated person allows, a lift and carry would be possible. The food is great, by the way. Good on ya Barnacles!
N. W.
Every time I've been, it's been such a great experience. Absolutely love coming and seeing the dolphins. Can not recommend it enough. Do suggest going in the summer months as the water is chilly in July
A. S.
Its so busy!! I'm complaining for the sake of constructive feedback, but it takes ages just to get a take away coffee. Best to enjoy this cafe while seated.
P. K.
Great spot to have a snack & interact with the dolphins.
F. R.
A fun and informative hands on experience with the dolphins run by friendly volunteers. Tip: stay for a great breakfast and enjoy the dolphins antics after feeding time.
s. t.
We just called in for a look and a walk along the beach, hope to do the dolphin feeding one day. Lovely clean well set out area.
D. B.
Beautiful experience for whole family
L. E.
Food was fantastic and the service was great. The dolphins are just beautiful. We will be back next time we are in Tin Can Bay.
J. T.
The dolphins and feeding experience are fabulous. Would definitely recommend the dolphin feeding and a coffee at the Cafe too
T. W.
Good food and service, if you wish to feed the dolphins you need to be there at 7 am
J. M.
Absolutely loved it. Very affordable, $5 entry plus $5 to feed a dolphin. Viewing was fantastic, as was the dolphin feeding. Dolphins put on a great show- jumping in the air and playing around. Volunteers and staff were very friendly and informative. Being in the water with the dolphins was a magical experience- would definitely recommend to others.
F. W.
This is a fantastic experience for all ages and a rare opportunity to feed wild dolphins 🐬 we visited while staying with family.....yes a very early start but very well worth it 😍
F. R.
Wonderful experience to see wild dolphins up close. Well worth this trip.
J. B.
Really cool kids liked it beautiful drive
B. B.
So seeing the dolphins was amazing for the kidsand missus, 1 thing though 1hour n 15 mins for breaky after ordering at 8.50am is a long time , when I asked 1 of the waitresses how much longer her reply was we have other ppl and it was said with attitude, a simple question and that's the response, if u can't handle customer service get out of that employment... 3 stars are for the dolphins and dolphin staff
C. B.
We loved this place. But would like maybe a few smaller fish for the $10. But the staff were great as was the dolphins.
B. M.
They do a really good job there. Amazing experience. But the cafe is really slow. Don’t waste your time ordering any food there if you don’t have plenty of time to wait.
B. D.
What a fantastic place and good value. Both the kids and grown ups in our party loved the opportunity to see and feed the dolphins. It's great to know that they cap the amount of food given and visitors so the dolphins don't loose their natural ability to hunt.
J. L. H.
Awesome place for the rare activity of feeding wild dolphins. Bravo volunteers
D. J.
Fantastic opportunity to feed the dolphins which the whole family really loved. There are breakfast specials too when paying for the feeding which is very inexpensive. Don't miss doing this when in the area.
R. A.
Great place to feed /watch dolphins in the wild and really good bacon rolls and coffee in the cafe afterwards too
R. E.
Wonderful experience. Where else can you feed dolphins for $5? Busy but not bad by any means. Quite a small place but loads of parking.
S. D.
Awesome family outing, very well run organisation, lots of chances to take good photos, the dolphins are beautiful and very calm.
J. D.
Coffee was much needed for the early morning. Feeding the dolphins was absolutely amazing, such an experience and it's really worth the price. It would be great to have a little more time but it's understandable that everybody needs a turn.
K. E.
The last time I was there, was 10 years ago. Still very good and not overcrowded. While the dolphins are getting their feed, I can sit outside and stuff my mouth too.
M. V.
Feeding the dolphin was great but you only got to feed it once and the whole experience was over is about 2 minutes. Otherwise it was good.
J. H.
Fantastic place to hand feed dolphins. One of only two locations in Queensland to do so. Absolutely worth the time and very small cost. It is run by volunteers, to whom are all very accommodating and a wealth of information. Will be back to do it again.
S. F.
Cheap food and tasted good. Fun seeing and feeding dolphins
J. E. J. &. M. B.
Great place to take the family for an up close Dolphin encounter.
Y. K.
Beautiful and very educative, totally worth the visit and the money (just $5). I recommend going not like a tourist destination, but rather like a place where you can learn a lot about these dolphins and other marine creatures instead of going to an aquarium.
G. C.
Great brekkie while you watch the dolphins
M. T.
Should get up early to save a shot of feeding cute dolphins and listening to their stories told by friendly volunteers.
L. F.
Fantastic experience. Excellent value. There were 4 dolphins & 2 pups. They came really close. The teams top priority was the welfare of the dolphins. They provided lots of relevant information. Definitely recommend this experience.
N. H.
Great inexpensive outing feeding the dolphins always bring our guests down to visit
A. L.
Missed the dolphin feeding (on at 8 am) but great spot for lunch or breakfast
m. x.
Great experience for family activity
C. W.
Excellent knowledge of the wild dolphins. Well worth the visit from England . Especially feeding them. 😄
B. K.
Cute playful dolphins to feed right out of your hand. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
A.
Nice place, the coffee was good and the kids got to see the dolphins.
S. G.
Lovely place.....Dolphin feeding excellent experience. Tin Can Bay beautiful place.
B. R.
Food is great.
A great opportunity to interact with wild dolphins up close.
G. W.
Great little tourist attraction. The dolphins are there every morning.
A. A.
Food was good especially the flathead well presented and will have to go to see the dolphins in the near future. Lovely lunch by the water!
D. K.
For a small donation, under the watchful eyes of the parks representatives, you are able to hand feed some dolphins. They are restricted to a certain amount per dolphin per day. So make sure you get down there early so you don't miss out. Very informative speakers, a great show
N. R.
Lovley food and coffee
The volunteers were beautiful people
Was an amazing experience feeding them beautiful dolphins
Would def recommend to do this
V. K.
A great experience with the dolphins and the food is Wonderful as well...
F. B.
Amazing. Volunteers do a brilliant job
j. b.
Kate & hubby and Emily & hubby and Kaitlen were absolutely amazing. The meals we had were delicious. Service is very friendly. They even fed our dog. Thanks guys you made our trip even better than it was.
T. R.
Great place to feed the dolphins. We didn't arrive between 7am and 7:30am so all we saw was water. The burgers were good though.
S. H.
Amazing experience, highly recommend. Get there early (7am) and chill out with a good value full breakfast ($12) whilst you wait for the amazing wild Australian Humpback Dolphins to arrive. Fantastic value to meet and hand feed the beautiful dolphins for just $10. Don't miss it!
C. M.
A wonderful opportunity to feed dolphins at a very reasonable price. Great for all ages
m. r.
Great place to spend a morning and learn about the local dolphins. Will run centre by local volunteers.
S. P.
$10 to feed wild dolphins....!!! Amazing. You have to get there early (we got there at 7am) they can only issue 50 feeding tickets per dolphin that turns up. Only 2 feeding dolphins turned up (+1 calf, not feeding) when we went, so a lot of disappointed people. You can get in to view for $5, still worth it.😁
T. H.
We got to feed some wild river dolphins and have breakfast. Food was good country cafe style. They did a very good job at making sure they
c. t.
we have been 3 times, great to see and feed dolphins. a must do.
S. J.
Great area to launch a boat, good at low and high tide.
The cafe does great coffee and short order meals, and Dolphin feeding early mornings
Great place to visit
P. C.
It was amazing seeing wild dolphins and we'll run place
J. H.
Great place for breakfast and to watch dolphins in the morning
K. S.
Loved seeing and feeding the dolphins, was a great experience.
The cafe was great also, lovely food, plenty of it.
X. C.
Way better than tanglooma experience. More local less commercial. All volunteers are very helpful and informative knowing what they are talking about. In a such relax and friendly neighborhood. Definitely worth the drive!!!
N. C.
Loved it. Thank you for letting us get up and close to the dolphins. ❤
T. H.
Nice, but not quite wild. Two dolphins and a pelican turned up for breakfast. People fed the dolphins by hand. Then they swam away.
B. O.
Great food, meal sizes were well worth the money, needed a bigger plate to fit the food onto! Would definitely eat here again!
D. L.
Fantastic place to see dolphins close up. The people there clearly love what they do. Price is really cheap and it isn't overcrowded compared to somewhere like Tangalooma.
J. T.
Four stars as it's a lovely experience, run by volunteers though and it wasn't well organised. We had 3 people give us different instructions which was frustrating. It's all over very quickly.
Well worth it though to feed a dolphin in a natural setting.
K. D.
Great place to take visitors for dolphin feeding and the breakfast is really lovely...lunches are also good
P. R.
Daughter had fun they're feeding the dolphins not bad in price
N. C.
If you have children and are in the area you must go here. Early in the morning around 7am. You can learn about the wild dolphins who come to be feed every day. Very organized. Extra fee to feed. If you like you can have a hot breakfast here as well (bit pricey for breakfast)
R. M.
Crazy volunteers are almost as entertaining as the dolphins. There’s a lot of rules, many of which seem unnecessary but you get to feed a dolphin for $10. It’s awesome. I’d go again.
P. L.
Costs $5 to enter and $5 to feed the wild dolphins. Best $10 I've spent for a long time. The volunteers gave a great commentary and I found it very interesting. Coffee was basic and not very hot.
J. B.
Great food, wonderful staff and spectacular scenery.
J. &. S.
Went to barnacles for lunch with the missus we had crumbed flathead, chips and salad.. was the best lunch in a while .. grate staff with a fantastic smile.. top spot for a beautiful lunch in the sun ☀️🌞⛱
M. N.
nice place to encounter dolphins, they are wild animals, so expect that they may not be there, we were lucky a young male was there.
A. r.
A good experience feeding the dolphins. The staff didn't get together that well and kept repeating each others information and correcting each other. A bit competitive for attention.
G. G.
Excellent, a wonderful experience with the dolphins. You are not allowed to touch them, but just being in the water with them was magical x
N. A.
Cool place to see wild dolphins. If you order breakfast at 7:30am it can be a little slow and require you to eat quick as it arrives at the same time the dolphin feeding takes place, 8am
K. C.
A must do in Tincan Bay. Dolphin Feeding or just observe from the deck or beach. $10 to feed or $5 to observe. Cafe for Breakfast. Extensive menu to choose from. Highly recommended. The kids will love it as well as the adults. Wonderful experience.
a. c.
Really good. Kids loved it. Had breakfast after dolphin feeding. Considering how busy it was, meals came out quite quickly.
E. T.
Were too late for the dolphins but had a good lunch here.
W. G.
I love feeding the dolphins. Such a nice place Tin Can Bay
W. G. G.
Great staff. Beautiful dolphins and the other birds were great too.
R. S.
This place is run by volunteers and done quite well, followed Enviromental requirements, you can choose to just view, go in the water or feed a fish to a dolphin or all of the above for a very modest price. The website was very informative, there is a cafe and toilets.
W. V. D.
Wow! Informative, fun and FREE. Or low cost if you want to be close up and feed a dolphin.
A. A.
My niece loved it although she wasn't old enough (1 year old) to feed the dolphins she was allowed to come into the water and feed them with her dad.
C. L.
Very friendly staff and exhilarating experience! It was Easter Monday so a lot of people came but there was only one dolphin (Squirt), but everyone got to feed him (one fish pp) and the waiting time wasn't long - the atmosphere was good so that you didn't feel that you were waiting for long. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. A bit pricey ($10 for entry + feeding) considering that we only get to feed one fish but it's worth the money as feeding wild dolphins and being in the same water as them is not something that everyone gets to experience. Even if you're not feeding, you can still get a good view of the dolphins around the area. 10/10 would recommend.
K. B.
Great experience and lovely people who love their dolphins
r. n.
The dolphins are awesome very friendly can't touch them sadly but they love the human interaction and the whole experience is fun and unique never in my life have I seen wild dolphins so chilled out and friendly as these fellas.
Oh and the tin can Bay dolphin themselves are amazing as well ;)
l. s.
Been coming to visit the dolphins since the 80's bought my children in the 90's and brought a daughter in law 2017 ♡♡♡♡♡
M. B.
A great place to learn about and interact with dolphins - very knowledgeable volunteers.
C. a. R.
Beautiful day at Tin Can Bay. Volunteer fellow at shop's front had no control over keeping the social distance much to the dismay of other people wanting to keep to the rules. No orange witches hats laid out for people to know where to queue, and the line of visitors (100+) were then not amicably told to move off the road. They had to then pass everyone else shoulder to shoulder, to snake back around the building. Much confusion. Where's the proper signage? Highly recommend arriving at 6.30 am (we were 4th in line). Show is around 7.00-8.00 am. The male Volunteer at the very front of the line, gruffly announced to those who could hear to keep their distance. No-one in the line moved! And he walked away! Once the show opened, the lady volunteers were absolutely wonderful, polite, enthusiastic, informative and dealt with the morning chill and patient visitors. Shoes off at the gate, then walk to the dolphin area using STRICT public distancing. Brilliant. Only 2-3 groups at a time were allowed close to dolphins to feed them, no touching – 3 dolphins this day. $5 for one fish per person in a bucket. Your hands were sprayed with “dolphin friendly” liquid before feeding. Dolphins were a treat. Gentle. Beautiful eyes. Gorgeous bodies. Mother using her tail to ward off her calf to get to the fish - such fun. 5 mins for each visiting person, couple or family, understandable given the long line and the hour allocated for the show. Overall wonderful experience, except for the total lack of social distancing by both volunteers - and the public.
J. F.
Great! Beautiful strory and nice dolphins. So cool to see them playing in the swallow waters. And the coffee there is excellent!
M. U.
Loved the experience of feeding the dolphins, even though it felt a bit rushed. The dolphins are amazing to see so close. There is a nice cafe, where you can get a lovely breakfast and other meals too.
D. B.
Dolphin feeding amazing Staff friendly and knowledgable
C. H.
Beautiful spot, they have dolphin feeding every morning. A must see in a gorgeous part of the coast.
M. P.
Beautiful place to visit and an awesome experience feeding the Dolphins 😃😃
S. C.
Staff are as friendly as the dolphins, I was a little nervous but absolutely loved being able to get close and hand feed the dolphins. Cafe had good coffee and great breakfast.
T. H.
Super helpful volunteers who really made this experience worth it, they had a beach chair for my wife and made sure she managed to feed a dolphin, the dolphins are wild but certainly on the tame side having been fed here regularly but they don't have to come and one left for a few minutes before bringing back it's young.
S. C.
Wow what an experience and only $5 to see the dolphins in there environment and $5 to feed them a fish if you wish to...I don't think you could do that anywhere else in Australia for that price. I will definitely be returning here one day.
J. H.
Supported my Mum in a wheelchair to participate in this experience. Everyone so friendly and helpful and well worth the wait for the dolphin visit. Everyone there is really committed.
M. d. G.
Good place to get close up with dolphins. They are a nice tourist attraction and the dolphins get fed early in the morning right next to the boat ramp. Ample
Parking on the marina parking lot.
S. H.
Awesome experience feeding the dolphins. Coluld greatly improved the breakfast and coffee. Would happily pay extra for edible food.
W. v. S.
The place where dolphins been fed. It was very good to see. But to watch you pay $5 .To feed the dolphins you pay $10. Mind you only 1 fish per person for $10. A bit overboard don't you think?!
B. O.
You just cannot miss this one while in the area.
C. F.
Loved seeing the Dolphins and hearing the story about their history. My daughter still talks about it months later, we will definitely be back. The book is fantastic as well.
S. F.
I'm in two minds about this business. ...while it's great to see the dolphins i'm not sure if this is exploitation.
There was a big crowd of people ready to pay to feed the dolphins a fish, but i prefer to see them doing their own thing in the water ways.
As for the cafe, it was small, clean and had a nice selection of things to eat or drink at reasonable prices.
j. m.
A truly great experience of feeding and seeing the dolphins
A. L.
good experience, get in early to feed dolphins
J. S.
Food was great once we got it. Waited over an hour.
G. C.
Always a great place to visit.
Good reasonably priced food.
Cold beer on tap.
Friendly faces.
L. G.
So truely loved feeding these most majestic animals I was very emotional thank u staff u do an amazing job xx will be back
B. D.
Great viewing of the dolphins and birds...but get there really early. Coffee and breakfast is excellent! Say hello to Ben and Ben on the #Luxuryafloat houseboats.
L. H.
Great to see the dolphins. A few of the guides were typical pensioners the came across as being pretty rude before the main event. They are more interested in money than the dolphins well being. There is no need for anyone to go into the water its more like a big ego trip id not recommend
T. F.
Very informative nice to see the dolphins and feed them
A. G.
We loved our experience here but one thing i would suggest is telling people they cant touch the dolphins i fed my dolphin and gave it quick pat but the lady panicked and started rambling on about how i can be charged 16000 dollars etc it ruined my experience i loved it but you need to inform people that they cant touch them! Otherwise you ruin the experience as we do not know !!
M. M.
Great to see these beautiful dolphins and learn about their habits. The babies were adorable.
K. S.
Excellent. Well organised. Great volunteers who run it too. The cafe there is perfect for a coffee and meal after feeding the dolphins.
D. S.
Volunteers are just lovely but too many people so hard tp see and a bit of a shock to have to pay 5 dollars just to watch....10 to feed 1 fish to a dolphin for 5 seconds this equates to the dolphins pulling in 120 dollars per hour...you think they would make this more affordable
Get there early or you'll be watching from near the car park
K. H.
Absolutely delicious Flathead tails. Great service and we had fun feeding the dolphins.
A. D.
Very conflicted about this place. It's great that the dolphins come in of their own choice but it's certainly not an authentic wildlife encounter. We didn't pay to go in as I can't stand this type of spectacle - 40 or so people paying to queue up so that they have to opportunity to throw a fish to a dolphin. We watched from the outside (obscured by a well placed pier and netting) for about 20min and this whole time, whilst the staff are talking, the two dolphins are also just waiting to get fed.
Wildlife is so much more rewarding when it's encountered.... in the wild. I hope all the money makes it's way into conservation projects at least, as this does somewhat help to justify this attraction.
J. C.
As a tourist attraction it was pretty lame. The dolphins just lay in the water not doing much and there were too many people crowded around. However, the volunteers obviously care for the dolphins and their preservation.
V. M.
Run by volunteers, very well organised and a great price to feed a dolphin. The volunteers are very helpful and friendly, you can tell they love what they do. Also good coffee and the bacon and egg roll after hit the spot! There is also a gift stall just outside the centre that is very reasonably priced. 200% to be put on everyone's bucketlist
S. S.
Really nice food at exceptionally good prices! Will return every chance I get. 🙂
J. C.
really good experience. all the staff are friendly and really good with the dolphins who love being fed. it is a great way to get close to a dolphin whilst not affecting the dolphins negatively.
W. T.
It's something you should do
T. v. G.
What a great experience seeing wild dolphins so close, within two metres. Get there early and see the mother's arrive with their babies', even better spend a few dollars ($5 November 2018), and actually feed a wild dolphin. This was an amazing experience for the kids, well worth the trip. There are several locations around tje feeding area where you can get an awesome photo
L. B.
Wild dolphin feeding was an incredible experience not to be missed. Not just for the kids either. We loved it.
M. L.
Such a fabulous experience feeding the dolphins
S. K.
Don't miss the dolphin feeding experience
N. S.
Great food, affordable and a wonderful location! Also, the Dolphin Feeding experience is amazing!!!
a. p.
A great place to come and feed the dolphins in the morning, make sure you get there early
A. H.
Overall it was a really good experience, although the first time the dolphins didn't show for 2+ hours, and everyone had left. But they give a refund if they are a no show. It's run by volunteers which I commend their efforts. It was $10 in total to feed a fish to the dolphins. The volunteers were informative, and the dolphins were very calm and stayed for a long time. Remember to bring cash. There is a cafe that you get a discount at if feeding, it was nice to get a coffee while waiting in the cold, they have EFT. The actual place was a little run down, but was a good time.
S. H.
Basic facilities but a great place to get up close to the wild indo pacific humpback dolphins. Dolphin feeding from 8am so get here a little earlier.
S. W.
I love dolphins they are my favorite it was great to touch them and feed them they feel so soft
D. Q.
Huge feed for cheap at yhe Cafe, awesome staff and dolphin experience
S. L.
Great experience with dolphins could do with modernising facility
C. P.
Fantastic and great value to feed dolphins
C. M.
Yummy food, great view, friendly staff
and they have 10 county cookies 👍
T. C.
Kids enjoyed it, they do rush you through however. If you're staying at Tin Can Bay it's probably worth it, but I wouldn't travel too far for it.
J. G.
After reading the history of this special pod of dolphins we were so happy to feed the alpha male Mistique. The volunteers were very informative and friendly, and even continued to have a chat with us after feeding time was over and all the tourists were gone. Was well worth getting up super early for!
M. R.
The best part of my holiday was visiting Barnacles seeing wild dolphins up close and being able to feed them, the staff deserve so much recognition for the hard work they put in to looking after these beautiful creatures and educating their visitors. If i could give them 10 stars i would. Staff were knowledgeable and easy to talk to, coffee was great and brekky yum!
R. D.
Arrive nice and early to view the Dolphins,
the Bay is very picturesque but nothing much else locally not forgetting Rainbow Beach 30 mins away +/-.
C. S.
Best steak sandwich I've ever had (except Mums). Just spot on 👌🏻
S.
Definitely worth the trip to see and feel the dolphins. Learnt lots. They only give the dolphins a small portion of their daily fish, so the dolphins still hunt in the wild.
Number of feedings tickets made available on the day depends on how many dolphins show up, so I would advise being there at 7 am if you want to feed the dolphins.
S. D.
The volunteers, who are very helpful and full of knowledge about the dolphins, do a good job of making the of feeding dolphins a worthwhile experience.
W. P.
Amazing experience. Lovely breakfast. Highly recommended!
G. A.
Everyone should see these amazing animals up close at last once and this is a great place to do it.
T. B.
Was great and very informative. I was a bit disappointed that I had to pay $5 to enter the cafe though.
D. S.
Amazing experience! Very lucky to have this so close to home and also at a reasonable price
G. D.
Great place to feed wild dolphins
B. H.
Feeding wild dolphins was a great experience and I really enjoyed it. The place is a little run down but it's certainly a unique experience feeding the dolphins. $10 a person to feed $5 a person to just to view, you get your money back if the dolphins don't show.
h. p.
Lovely experience we visited just after the school holidays so it was fairly quiet. Nice opportunity to learn about the dolphins in a relaxed atmosphere.
$5 to visit and $10 per fish. The dolphins can only have 3kg of fish each per day in order to not dissuade them for catching in the wild. However we finished giving the 1 fish per person and the handlers then fed the dolphins for a further 10-15mins I do feel that consdiering the amount of people at the feeding season and the amount of fish left over we could have fed 2 fish each. Experience as a whole was still fantastic and highly recommended, plenty of parking.
A. T.
Yes we got to feed dolphins as advertised but i personally found the experience rushed and less interactive as hoped. I understand there are rules etc to protect the dolphins but the amount of people in the croud made the experience almost stressful.
D. C.
A lovely morning with the wonders of nature. The volunteers do a great job of both organising visitors and protecting their most honored guests who graciously accept our offered fish meal. 🤗
C. P.
I got to feed the dolphins
A. W.
Come between 7.30 and 8am, feeding starts at 8am every day. If you come early you can sit down have a coffee and get ready to line up to be the first to feed the dolphins for only an extra $5 on top of the $5 entry! 10/10 would do it again everytime!
R. T.
🐬AMAZING 🐬 It was a very informative and wonderful experience. Highly recommended 🐬 Thank you to the terrific staff
P. C.
A special experience being able to feed the dolphins here.
A. F.
Bronte Molly and I went and had lunch at Barnacles Dolphin cafe. Very nice and relaxing .
M. K.
$10 to feet a fish to a dolphin, nice staff.
I. C.
Worthy! Staffs are very friendly. Dolphins are gentle!
J. “. W.
This is dolphin feeding centre, they are wild dolphins so you aren't guaranteed to see them but it seems as though they have regular dolphins who turn up. The viewing are to take photos of the dolphins is a little cramped but adequate. The cafe is excellent and even though it seemed quite busy when we went meals were served quickly and were well priced and a good size. My only suggestion would be to have more information about the general life of dolphins and their habitat, the information they were giving was very basic.
h. c. r.
The volunteers are very nice, all very natural. They don't consider who arrives before so it doesn't matter if you arrive at the last moment
D. B.
Very well organised dolphin feeding with a 65 year history of safely feeding five generations of dolphins.
K. G.
This is a must do. The dolphins are beautiful and wait patiently for their fish. There was a young calf too. Very cold for feet in winter! Take feet warmers for afterwards.
s. l.
Gorgeous Experience and staff are so friendly and food is fantastic
J. P.
Took a visiting friend, really enjoyed it, coffee was great good flavour, good service, food excellent,we live locally ,will be back.😎
K. N.
Food was great, service was awesome and views were perfect
L. P.
Nice little cafe for a bite to eat. Staff are very welcoming!
J. T.
Great visit, excellent cafe right on the front to watch the world go by.
V. H.
Great food overlooking the water. Favourite place to eat when visiting friends.
a.

You will need to arrive early if you want to get a ticket to feed the dolphins, as they are limited by the number of dolphins who actually show up. There is a cafe here which serves a decent selection of cafe food and decent coffee, and there are plenty of other interesting things to see in the water while you are waiting for the dolphins to arrive.

It was good. I think you get 2 little fish for $10 from memory.

Great initiative cafe is good, short order cooks are worth their weight in egg and bacon rolls. Very busy but churned out great chow ultra fast.
Dolphins were ultra well behaved and the new calves were cheeky

Excellent and they really care for the dolphins

This is the second time we have been to the dolphins at Tin Can Bay. This time there was a lot of waiting around we felt and there was so many more people too. The kids enjoyed feeding the dolphins but it was over so quickly. An hour wait for 1 minute to feed the dolphins 1 fish each.

A very underwhelming experience, due to the very limited time close to the dolphins (just long enough for it to unenthusiasticly grab one 10 dollar fish...), a strict no touching policy and a rather dull wait. The voluntary staff are friendly enough and clearly care about their endangered dolphins, but the whole thing is unfortunately quite forgettable.

My boy now 30 swam unhindered with the dolphins he gets right up the sandy flats now and the old girl still remembers him. Dad.

The dolphins are great but the rest (food, facilities, staff & format) a bit tired and daggy

Absolutely must do for locals and visitors! Pay $10 and hand feed a wild dolphin! They are rare Australian dolphins that have been visiting every day for decades. Feeding is at 07800 every day, don't be late because the dolphins go straight back to sea as soon as they have been fed. Very good way to support conservation of a wild rare species, your money goes to protecting the dolphins in the wild. 10/10.

We each had a HUGE bacon and egg roll. So delicious. Bun was very soft and tasty. We will be visiting again sometime.
