Comments of Darvella Patisserie
J. B.
Best patisserie hand down! Love all the pastries and cakes. I visit a few times a week to try all the new flavours and never disappoints! Today's strawberry cheesecake croissants were super delicious! Lovely staff and always very helpful!

Recently visited Darvella for a coffee and sweet treat, and were relatively satisfied with our visit. Was open on the public holiday we came, however was crazy busy! There is very limited seating despite its large outdoor area- so you’d be lucky to snag a seat in the mornings. Also, there is very limited street parking due to the cafe next door, so be prepared to walk. Other than this, it’s in a beautiful area that is kept clean and tidy.
We ordered an almond croissant, iced vanilla latte and cappuccino. Service was very quick even though it was busy, however staff didn’t come across as friendly. We were pretty disappointed with how little pastries were available, as most seemed sold out even though it was morning. Regardless the almond croissant was one of the best I’ve ever had, freshly baked and a reasonable price. The coffees were very average, but I loved the latte art. The iced latte was pretty pricey considering it came out in such a tiny glass! Overall I wish we tried more of the pastries on offer, as I hear they are all consistently good.
We were satisfied with our time here at Darvella, and appreciated that they didn’t charge a surcharge on the public holiday. Would love to come back and try more! ⭐️

3.75 ⭐ - cute little patisserie cafe, coffee was great however service was a bit slow. The pasties were good but nothing spectacular, tried the ham & cheese croissant, apple crumble croissant and their pie.
The lemon poppyseed meringue crossoint was beautiful, lovely flavours and nice and flaky. Would recommend trying that one!

A perfect spot for indulging in sensational patisseries with a great coffee and company. We went on a (late) Sunday morning and were greeted by a great ambience and beautiful smiles from the staff. I love places like this, where I feel transported into a different space, a space that lets me forget about the world and encourages me to be joyful and happy with loved ones and friends. We sampled the plain croissant and a Mille Feuille. Add it to your bucket list if you didn’t try these yet. There’s a spectacular boardwalk nearby to walk off some calories as well. Darvella Je t’embrasse! XO

I came here attracted by other’s Instagram posts. I would highly recommend the cruffin, love its shape, and it’s crispy with rich filling. The pastries looks great and the flavour is not bad. But the coffee is average, a bit light to me.

Ordered a customised cookie cake for my aunt's 40th Birthday and it turned out amazing! Lindsay, the pastry chef, nailed the brief! The cake was gorgeous and intricately decorated, and it tastes just as lovely as it looks! The order process was also smooth and easy, and all our needs were accommodated. Thank you to Darvella for an amazing cake!

We got a ham and cheese croissant, and the bacon and egg roll - lots more ingredients than the standard, but the flavours were amazing and worked really well together. Would definitely go back just for the roll, their Banana bread wasn't great, kids didn't enjoy it and I tried it and wasn't impressed so it went unfinished.
Also waited several minutes between our food and the coffees, would be a good idea for more communication between the kitchen and the barista.
Coffee is tasty!
E. L.
Lovely place with equally lovely and amazing staff 🤗🥰
Got myself a strawberry/fruit tart and it was absolutely fantabulous 🤤
If you’re looking for great pastries, baked goods and coffee - you have to give these guys a try
E. B.
Tastes as great as it looks! Delicate, light and crisp pastries with perfectly balanced fillings. Bursting with flavour & not excessively sweet. Very friendly service too :-) Highly recommended!
F. M.
Pretty good patisserie. Always do some creative and delicious pastries. Coffee always 7 out of 10. Ignore comments of antivaxxers who are selfish and do not respect the health of others.

A relative newcomer to the Bulimba St food scene, Darvella Patisserie delivers the baked goods, including what's now my favourite almond croissant in Brisbane.
Our order:
* Vanilla cream donut
* Almond croissant
* Pork sausage roll
* Iced coffee
Didn't note individual prices but the sausage roll was $7.50 and the total bill $25.38, so around $6 each for the other items + 1.5% CC surcharge.
The almond croissant was pretty large, with a nice pastry and lots of frangipane - the most generous of the ones I've tried. The frangipane was also wetter than others, almost like a jam? Made for a very nice overall package and a standout favourite almond croissant to date.
The sausage roll was also a bit special, with the filling being fairly different to most store bought ones, many of which can be on the dry and more solid side. This one felt more home cooked, was moist and had a softer texture but still good bite and importantly flavourful. Wrap this in some lovely flaky pastry and you've got another winner.
The donut was no slouch either, with a nice amount of filling that wasn't not overly sweet, giving you nicely balanced mouthfuls - not too many of those required to devour this thing!
So, 3 out of 3 winning picks means I'll be back for sure when I next have an opportunity to head out this way. There are some discounts for multiple item purchases (6 donuts for $30, 4 croissants/pastries for $20) - these would be great for sharing (tempted as I was to get them for ourselves).
NB. there's limited dine in tables/seats, but no toilet/hand-washing facilities.
L. B.
AMAZING!!!
Delicious sausage roll and a beef pie! Sweet treats are great too, so many to choose from we can’t wait to go back to try more :)
T. T. T.
Darvella just keeps on getting better and better.
The staff are very helpful and always so friendly.
The baked goods and freshly prepared snacks and meals are not just a treat for the eyes, they are also oh so delicious.
The cherry on top of it all is the coffee. Quickly made and extracted just the way we like it. Delicious cup every single time.
This new spot on the block is a definite one to try.
M.
We were really intrigued by the Stout and Coffee cake from Darvella as they use Revel Brewing Co's Russian Imperial Stout which happens to be one of my favourite beers from Revel. We decided to get a baby cake (4") for $39. The flavours and the presentation of the cake were exceptional. Both the coffee and stout flavours were identifiable and the layers were a beauty to look at. The price was a bit steep given the size of the cake, but it was worth the experience. Not sure when I'll get a whole cake again, but will definitely return to try some of the other pastries on offer.
D. J.
The food here is amazing. Has become a regular favourite place to visit.
L. W.
You must visit Darvella if you are in the area. The most delicious, delicate croissants with regular exciting specials. The coffee is beautiful too!
A. A.
When I arrived the table was full of residual food and flys, I asked to clean the table but even after that done it wasn’t really clean. (See the picture)
I ordered cappuccino extra hot and got cold one that I couldn’t even drink it, although the taste was great!!
Croissant was ok but not the best, banana bread really bad and doesn’t taste banana at all.
Luckily Belissimo next door where all above issues is resolved.
I guess because this shop is new it needs sometime to recruit more staff.
I. W.
Best croffin ever! The pastries are great, however the matcha latte is a bit bland, the staffs are welcoming and friendly, but overall, it’s worth the try
M. S.
I had a beautiful cake made here for my birthday, and I could tell how much detail and attention was put into it. The edges were crisp, each topping was placed delicately and it was exactly how I asked. The chefs clearly went above and beyond in ensuring it was perfect, and it felt so personalised. I also loved the staff input into helping me design my cake! Everyone at my dinner loved the cake and how beautiful the flavours were (it was the GF orange and almond cake, 100% recommend), and the restaurant even asked me where it was from because all of the waitresses loved it! Thank you so much, I’ll definitely be ordering more cakes from Darvella ❤️

Darvella Patisserie ... wow !
One of the few pattisseries where style matches substance .
The staff are amazing and the coffee is great .
We have been back multiple times and always leave with much more than we came for..
See you again soon

Delicious pastries, both savoury and sweet options were fantastic! Very cute little patisserie with a range of choices. Limited seated and they are still perfecting their ordering service but definitely still a must visit!
S. S.
An amazing array of pastry delights! Both sweet and savoury is good. The only problem is choosing only a couple of things.
P. O.
There are no words to describe what we consumed at Darvella Patisserie.. Wow !! The kids & I got the Almond Croissant (Filled with frangipani - fresh & melt in ur mouth), custard filled Doughnut ( yummy) & the Apricot filled Cruffin which tasted like an apricot & Apple sauce purée encased in custard encased in cruffin… being Dairy Free I was going to have a nibble & let the kids divulge but I bloody went all in & suffered later (But hell was it worth it).. I left with a big satisfied smile on my face.. wanting to return ASAP.. had an Almond F/W and it was perfect - fresh & nice milk (some places the milk can be musty or just Yuk!)..
A. J.
Love this place! I frequent it atleast 3 times a week. I love the way they present all the food and how we can see all the chef making stuff in the back.
Only thing is I wish there was more seating.
V. F.
Beautiful croissant with roast pumpkin, beetroot, capsicum, rocket and Camembert.
N. (. S.
I just checked out new cafe in Bulimba area if you have tried product from the weekend pop up bakery shop at @pawpawcafe Now it is time to get some more goodies patisserie from @darvellapatisserie
There are plenty of variety patisseries that you would ask for. Everything is fresh as just came from the over and entertaining by watching their works from big kitchen behind counter bar.
I warn you to get there early before you miss out their goods.
** There are no many seat for dine in yet but it will be full capacity for dine in soon**
Z. J. Y.
We loved the croissant and sour dough here but we both think our coffee order wasn’t fulfilled to our expectations. I would get unlimited croissants and cruffines from there, they were so so so fluffy and yummy. 🥲🥲🥲
M. A.
I enjoyed lemon curd doughnuts, Almond croissant and chicken and mushroom pie😋 There were really good😍👍🏻 Next time I wanna try cakes😋🧁❤️
J. B.
Such incredible food and pastries! There is always something new to try and the coffee is just top tier!!! And the service is even better
D. R.
Late Sunday morning pastry and coffee. A lot of thought put into the flavours and not over the top. My partner is Spanish, we agree it has a great Pastéis de Belém vibe. Prices are super reasonable also
H. M.
Darvella is too die for! Cupcakes are AMAZING , I highly recommend the ham and cheese croissant as they fold the cheese and ham into it.
B. F. F.
Went on a Sunday morning at 10am, still plenty of options. Staff were friendly and patient even when it was so busy. Food was sooo good, we got the ham and cheese croissant, chocolate hazelnut croissant and the weekend special: coffee, dolce de leche. Price was very reasonable especially compared toother patisseries. Will be back to try more!
J. H.
Hands down the best almond croissant and oat milk latte in Brisbane! Great atmosphere and the staff are so lovely and helpful! A wonderful addition to Oxford Street
M. R.
The food is good, but the past few visits the service has been awful; it is painfully slow and they dont acknowledge your presence or make any effort to greet you. Generally most establishments will have staff who greet immediately and let you know they will be with you shortly. Today it was so slow that I left; one staff member, back to the counter doing something with a box, the other showing a new team member where to put her stuff, which is fine but also serve the customers whilst you do that. Additionally, they only want 4 people in the shop at once due to covid guidelines, yet there are people waiting inside for others to arrive and taking up a space.
F. K.
I went to Darvella 2x and both times I went at lunch time-around 12- they barely had any options to choose from.
There was 2 mini bar cakes left, 1 veggie croissant and 1 ham and cheese toastie and a few plain croissants left. That was it and a couple of big cakes available from what i remember.
Both times were the exact same with 8 months apart.
First time i went i thought it was bad luck and decided to go again, but after the second time i wont be returning to see a window with barely anything. Not sure if it was bad luck again. A friend told me she was going to this amazing patisserie she saw on Instagram and it was such a long drive for her i had yo warn her she might find herself getting there and not having any options.
Such a shame as the photos look great!
A.
With a wide selection of pastries to choose from to good coffee this place has left a great first impression on me. The croissants and donuts I had were fantastic and the staff were excellent!
G. C.
Got there early following the prediction of long lines. We waited outside patiently and the line grew. The wait for the EKKA strawberry sundae croissant was worth it, 5 stars. So good.
Service was friendly and efficient.
5 stars.
A kind person waiting for coffee next door strongly advised us to get coffee there, not at Darvella. We should have listened. My mouth still feels sad over the very disappointing coffee provided. The temperature and the layering of the milk and foam was perfect. The aroma was weak with slight tinge of creosote and cheese. The flavour was thin with notes of wet cardboard, and had a soapy tending to cold grease after taste. Think home brand instant with the hot water poured over burnt chip fat and served with fermented milk. Suspect it's the maillard of the roast. Coffee no stars.
Based on the friendly advice as we approached Darvella on our visit and our experience, don't trust positive coffee reviews, suspect they were swayed by the food. Please, if you like your coffee, get it at Bellissimo next door, or somewhere else close by.
Highly recommended for the delectables and will be back for the food and service, but life's to short to drink bad coffee so will never get coffee there again.
D. B.
Very nice decor and environment 🥐
G. D.
This place is next level. Amazing goodies and super full cabinets. Glad to see something of this caliber in Brissie. This photo was about 11AM on a Sunday even though there were lines out the door, so they’re definitely keeping up with demand!
L. S.
Delicious pastries. They also had challah bread, which I’ll have to come back for another time!
D. C.
I don't think you will find better pastries anywhere in Brisbane. This place is the goods. Coffee is consistently excellent and staff are friendly.
T. C.
Great addition to Oxford Street Bulimba. Tried it out and know that I will be back.
Nice pastry selection, attended by friendly staff.
S. S.
I think I have tried every item on the menu and can safely say, it is all amazing! From fantastic flavours to beautiful presentation you will not he disappointed at Darvella! Their daily items are consistently delicious as well as their weekend specials being seasonal and creative. The staff are friendly, helpful and serve delicious coffee. Always happy to recommend them... especially their signature Babycakes!
T. M.
Best addition to the area!
Most amazing pastries, coffee and breads. The cakes look amazing! (Soon, I will try one!)
Being able to see into the kitchen is a plus, everything is made with such passion and care, and from scratch!
The head pastry chef is easy on the eyes also....
10/10, great work team ❤
A.
Amazing almond croissants at this new venue, my partner even went and ordered another after tasting mine. I've eaten at many of the award winning Venzin Group restaurants around Brisbane over the years and I believe this place will be another well deserved hit.
Still very new with some construction going on if you decide to sit and eat, but the patisseries, service, coffee, hot chocolate and attention to detail with their latte art sets the bar high.
N.
I went there for the first time on last Sun. The location is convenient from Bulimba ferry terminal. I enjoyed salted caramel donut and I would love to have it again!
S. C.
Great little spot. Delicious coffees and pastries that are phenomenal. The croissant here is flakey buttery and heart warming. Everything you could want from your neighbourhood pastry shop.
w.
Visited these guys on Valentine's Day morning for breakfast. We had an amazing experience trying the apple crumble croissant, blueberry danish, custard doughnut and sausage roll. All of the food was faultless in my opinion. The service was also excellent with the staff happy to recommend their favourites. Currently my favourite patisserie in Brisbane - not only was the food and service exceptional, but their range of products was also fantastic.
P. L.
Omg, this place is amazing, the pastries are just perfect!! The perfect place for a delicious food, pastries and coffee
M. C.
First time checking out the bakery and it definitely lived up to the hype! Coffee and pastries were fantastic, we also ordered my nieces custom birthday cake for next week! Cant wait! Keep being awesome guys!
K. E.
The raspberry danish is everything! The contrast between the smooth custard and the tangy berry flavour. Yummmm!
A. P.
I come here religiously, the coffee is perfect every time. It is a lovely place to be if you score a seat outside. The girls are always friendly.
B. K.
An amazingly well-presented patisserie with exceptional quality products and friendly staff. There's a large selection of things to try, with new products making their way onto the shelves regularly to keep things interesting, definitely worth the wait to get your hands on them.
Would recommend checking it out today, tomorrow, and anytime they're open!
c. r.
My new fav! Always so fresh and delicious with so much to chose from!! Friendly and happy staff every time I go into the store.
A. W.
Perfect cafe. Great food and excellent service. I've enjoyed the menu variety, the pâtisserie is simply amazing. The croissant is perfect just like you were seated in Paris left bank.
Well done and keep up the good work and the high standards.
R. V.
Some of the best Viennoiserie I’ve had in Brisbane. Pastry Chef Layla has this art down Pat, with the perfect amount of butter laminated through the pastry. We had the Almond and the classic croissants.
The almond frangipane is stunning, I’d happily have this every day.
Thank you ladies, a kitchen well run.
H. C.
It can never go wrong with endless options of treats and amazing coffee!
M. D.
Had the hazelnut and banana croissant special. It was so delicious and made my day.
L. A.
Ever had a moment of gastronomic awakening? 😇
Be prepared to be transported as you enter the store to witness the flurry and precision work of pastry chefs preparing the other worldly delights through the viewing glass to the state of the art kitchen.
The smell of fresh artisan breads, the breathtaking cakes and the sweet creations are truly a work of art.
The coffee will hook you into a daily constitution so be prepared, there is no going back ...
The standard here is beyond world class.
I warn you .. this place is what dreams are made of 🌈
Darvella is a little piece of patisserie heaven tucked away in downtown Bulimba.
S. T.
Amazing service and delicious pastries. Definitely worth a visit
B.
Yummy, beautiful patisserie treats and good coffee
A. Z.
Better than you can expect!!
Gr8 pastries, good staff and lovely coffee ☕
R. B.
All the food is amazing. Would love more seats outside (always busy :) )
R. K.
My go-to cafe and one I always recommend to friends and family. The staff are patient and accomodating and it’s always refreshing to have the owner, Giorgina, recognise and thank you for your visit. Customer service aside, their baked goods never disappoint and I’m always in awe of their presentation and taste. A must try when you’re in the local area, along with a walk on the jetty!
N.
Delicious food and coffee. As a local, I’ve been frequenting this place at least once a week. Sadly, as they head into their second month of operation, the shrinkage factor strikes! So disappointed in my noticeably smaller sausage roll and bar cake this morning.
N. A. B.
I went here mainly to try the doughnuts. I think the pine-lime filling was too runny and possibly there was too much of it. Coffee was ok. Service was good.
F. O.
The coffee and pastries are to DIE for!!! All hand made in store! A wonderful addition to the Brisbane Pastry scene
a. s.
Best croissants in the area by far! Great selection of cakes and pastries, coffee is good and staff are always friendly.

(Translated) It’s a bit disappointing to say that it’s a bakery specialty store.
Almond croissant felt a little bit if there was a lot of butter in it
This is a filling donut 👍👍👍
It's not as chewy as Korean donuts, but it's delicious because there's more chocolate filling inside than expected
There are chocolate, strawberry, blueberry, custard, and so on, but it seems that chocolate is the best!
I've been there three times, but Paris is always in the showcase of donuts...
I heard that you are the same owner as the nearby Monocle Cafe, but the coffee tastes different~
Donuts are delicious when you eat them right away
Because the sauce is dry inside? When I ate it 3-4 hours later, the sauce was soaked in the bread and it was dry.
(Original)
