Comments of Dockside Kingston

Decided on Dockside after walking along the Kingston waterfront searching for a nice spot for breakfast. The view from the outdoor tables looking across the water is lovely, and there is also the option of sitting inside.
I enjoyed having the option of ordering from the counter or scanning the QR code and ordering on my mobile - which I chose to do.
The coffee and food came out in a good amount of time.
If any improvements could be made, it would be to be licensed so that guests can enjoy a mimosa or Bloody Mary with their breakfast.
Overall a nice breakfast spot.

We ate here twice on our recent 5 day visit to Canberra. The food was delicious the first time and on the second visit - I had the same breakfast- it was just as good. Now this was on New Years Day and the place was socially distanced heaving. The food was the same quality as the last time, it just took a little longer to arrive. This was expected as there was a sign telling customers that there was a 30 minute wait time for food. This sign was regularly updated as the times became shorter etc. The staff were professional and calm. Each table has hand sanitizer on it and tables were wiped down properly. Even the water bottles were wiped after being filled. I would highly recommend this place
I don't usually take photos of my food but I couldn't resist this one as it was so pretty

GF and DF options available, and wait staff helpful with ingredients and options. DF smoothies a great offering! Lunch today was banana nut smoothie (DF) and smashed avo with poached eggs, tomato, radish and toasted pistachios. Excellent eggs, perfect serving size, well presented and a great view.

Decided to try this cafe as it looked busy, aesthetically pleasing, is in a great location and had a nice menu. Despite this, we were a little bit disappointed! The young girl who took our order did not include my meal, and also got my coffee order wrong. When approached about this, the service in return was unfriendly, abrasive and rushed. I have given three stars as the coffee (once fixed) was absolutely fantastic, and the food was really tasty, with just a let down in the customer service!

Lovely cafe by the water, first time visit. Dined in for breakfast. Our coffee was served in a timely manner. 2 out of the 4 meals ordered also came out within a reasonable time but the other 2 meals took a further 10 minutes (waited roughly 25 mins in total). The eggs were cold and the sourdough toast was as hard as rock which made it unpleasant to eat as that was the entire meal, fried eggs on toast. Decent place and would be happy to visit again, just a shame that the food was cold.

Nice food and good coffee. However it was a shame there was a pile of dirty dishes stacked high that were in clear sight of the inside tables while we were eating breakfast. Apart from that it was a good experience.

Like other reviewers, we came for the Ona name. I had the vegetable fritters, cold brew and a pineapple ginger juice.
The cold brew was great, as expected. But the rest was pretty average. Nothing tasted fresh or made in-house- the avocado was the pre-mix blend and the fritters also tasted like that had been brought in and then microwaved. Food came out way too fast.
Juice tasted like bottled or tetra pack.
I’ll get a coffee from here, but we don’t think we’ll be coming back anytime soon. Shame because it’s a good location, but we put food quality over a good view.

Good coffee and nice atmoshere with a beautiful lake side scene. I ordered Crab meat scrambled, Liguine creamy mushroom and Black angel pasta. Food overall is good quality and beautiful presentation. If there is more crab meat in my scrambled egg, it should be perfect.

By far the best breakfast place in Canberra. The only place I found sourdough is fresh! Never too stale and cardboard like. They do know how to cook sunny side up … give them a try a note the details ❤️

Im always happy with my ONA coffee but this place managed to prepare a bad coffee. We got some dirty cups and a hard rock brownie. There are much better options in the Foreshore. Definitely not going back.

Dockside was clean and bright. That was markedly better than most of the grubby dives along the foreshore. It did not smell of cooking oil, again unlike most of t h e other grubby dives. My friend and I agreed that it was pretty good value, not overpriced. We had some veg fritters and nice salad and I had a drink with fruit in it. It was OK. Fritters were too salty for either of us. Coffee was nice, i asked for hot and i got hot, not dangerously microwaved. For Canberra it was decent, given that the quality of restaurant food in Canberra is very poor.

Great food, great place to sit. A little more than then your usual breakfast but over all not a bad price.

After a dismal experience a couple of doors down, we decided we needed a real coffee. Dockside did not disappoint. The vibe in the cafe is awesome, high energy , clean , pretty and just generally great. The staff are super friendly and efficient. Coffee was BRILLIANT! And their pastries..... drool. You have to have the breakfast bun which is a delectable cross between a cinnamon bun and a croissant but without being super sweet. I would come back in a heartbeat!

An excellent matcha latte and the brownies were a hit with the kids. Nice place to lounge and watch the water

Delicious coffee, hot chocolate, frappes and banana bread! Would definitely come back.

Everything here is excellent.

Not that impressed. The Cafe was busy which I thought was a good sign and they serve Ona coffee which is usually very good however we were let down. The coffee tasted terrible like they had burnt either the beans or milk. I had a ‘fresh’ hot cross bun which I was told was from that morning however it clearly wasn’t. We didn’t try the food from the full menu but noted it to be quite expensive. Probably won’t go back with so many other good cafes nearby.

What a shame that the cafe is in such a beautiful location and decorated so beautifully, just to be ruined by a grumpy and rude attitude waitress! Service makes or breaks you, won't be back.

Coffee was good, service and food not great.

Really nice coffee and friendly and welcoming staff! Perfect location to grab a drink and chill on the foreshore.

Outstanding new cafe on the Kingston foreshore. They serve ONA coffee, and their food is excellent. Highly recommend for brunch!

All was delicious 😁

Nice interior but the “large” takeaway coffees are the size of a small one at any other cafe...and cost $5. Beware!

Lovely cafe with good coffee

Best Salmon Eggs Benny in the southern hemisphere! If you're goin' anywhere else you're missing out!

This needs to be clear on the name? Is it dockside? ONA Dockside? Dockside Kingston? I am confused. Nice coffee.

Lovely place

It was nice but not "oh my gosh, this place is amazing!!!" The fish and chips were nice but the fish did soggy quite quickly. The hot chocolate was nice. Has a good vibe and tables are spread out so you don't feel like you're rubbing elbows with anyone. Shame the bathrooms are in the shared building back bit and gross.
