Move to barton a couple of months ago and have been coming here almost everyday. Food to great. A little noisy at times, however if you jump outside in the courtyard you can escape it. Great for a Friday long lunch.

I only had a tea and a croissant from here. But the croissant was burnt, there wasn't any milk with my tea despite being asked, I had to get my own cutlery and napkins despite the fact I was seated. I'd say customer service was good as they were polite but definitely could've been a better experience. I went when it was rush hour so maybe avoid visiting then as a lot of local businesses use them for their coffee fix.

A Public Service Cafe with a fancy name. Very busy with (not obvious) simple queues for ordering hot and cold food. Very generous serving of calamari and chips. Cooked just right. Chips are obviously made on site, because of the irregular sizes. Tartare sauce was brought to the table with an apology for the time taken. So good. Coffee afterwards was excellent but took a while to be delivered. Worth waiting for. Will try the Reuben Roll next time.

Updated March 2018: New owners have made DD even better. Staff as friendly as always, coffee is terrific, and burgers (try the Southern Fried) are A+. Upmarket cafe with the ability to easily manage the big lunchtime crowds of central agency public servants. Friendly staff and prompt service. Good menu spanning grab n’ go sandwiches/wraps and salads, and made-to-order (and excellent) burgers and hot food. Prices very reasonable for Barton and Canberra. Licensed, and happy hour on Friday arvos is especially recommended.

Staff were super friendly, and service was very quick despite how busy it was. I got a southern chicken burger and it was meh. The bun was amazing, and the chicken was juicy but it was also incredibly bland. I was expecting a little bit more for the $11 I paid for it. The chips were crunchy and hot.

Freshly made Sandwiches and coffee. The atmosphere is also fine. Andy Michael was a helpful guy. Ask for him he will make your sandwich from the fresh ingredients. Wonderful staffs. One of the must stop cafe in Canberra.

Interior and exterior fit out is funky and fun! Loads of space and plenty of light if you need to work. It took around 20 minutes for me to get a pot of tea and it was warm not hot. Would certainly try again however as it seems like a fun place to do Friday drinks!!!

Staff always friendly and really quick to serve. Food is fresh and well priced. Under new ownership and no minimum EFTPOS on all purchases. The bar is also great for drinks in the evening with a good selection of beers and C on tap with a good range of wine and spirits

Great coffee, and they're fairly quick at serving it - even on a busy weekday morning. I've ordered a sandwich here before which was generously sized. I really didn't need to order chips to go with it! This place could be a little difficult to find if you haven't been here before. Basically it's in the middle of the block between Macquarie Street and National Circuit. It's not on directly on the street.

Pretty Pricey but is to be expected in Barton and Limited menu options .. found it generally sells out quick went for lunch at 1:30 and they barely had anything left to offer so get in early.

Your typical Canberra inner city cafe, it was busy but the friendly staff were there to help. Clean, not noisy and clean toilet too. Good cafe for breakfast or lunch or to catch up after work for a few drinks.

Decent coffee, but the main reasons I recommend Drummer are the food, the fact there is a bar, and plenty of seating (Indoor and outdoor). Open to the public, you dont have to work in thr building. Good place to have a casual work meeting or just get out of the office. Range of breakfast, lunch, snack options, including sit-down meals and quick take away options. Takeaway beakfast options include pastries, fruit, yoghurt, smoothies, juice, coffee etc. Lunch options include selection of hot buffet options which change daily (baked fish, pasta, chips, roast veg, pulled pork, chicken schnitzel etc); selection of salads (Eg Caesar, garden, beetroot and feta, pasta, pumpkin etc); and sandwiches/wraps which are made fresh daily. For about $15-20 you can choose 3 items from the hot buffet (you can select from salads too). Or if you prefer a burger, fish and chips etc, there is a menu as well.

Double Drummer has a huge interior and exterior space to sit or meet with people. It is beautifully sunny in the mid morning. I came here just for coffee. Coffee is roasted by Grounds of Alexandria in Sydney. I don't mind Grounds of Alexandria coffee usually, but this time it seemed to be made carelessly, as it was bitter and the milk not very creamy, and seemed to be poured in a rush. I will come back to try again. Double Drummer offers a lot more than coffee (lunch, a bar, juice) but I didn't try that on this occasion.
