Comments of Lonsdale Street Roasters - Warehouse
J. C.
Tasty breakfast plates but possibly understaffed. The food took a long time to come out. Our drinks came halfway after our meals were served. The staff didn’t clean up the table and we had to wipe the table ourselves. Some of the staff were very friendly and others not so much. It’s a very busy cafe and the concept of a casual outdoor dining is great but I wouldn’t go back here if I was really hungry and wanted food served quickly. However the takeaway section seemed to be fast paced.
B. H.
Was fairly unimpressed with this place. I was here five years ago and I loved it. This time it felt a little dated and to be honest a little dirty. Much better than a large chain but there are better ones out there. The coffee was good though.
L. R. K.
Nice warm place... Good place to have a chit chat with a friend or informal meeting with a client. The staff is nice and friendly. Havent yet tried any of the 🍲 food but the coffee ☕ was good.
S. Z.
good ice latte, very busy during the lockdown period but fast service
E. C.
It’s good place to go for a coffee and food. I enjoyed my dish so much.
R. K.
Really good place for a morning breakfast or late brunch with high emphasis on tea or coffee. Quite reasonable with additional option sitting outside and having a view of the braddon market.
s. l.
Staff very friendly. Coffee was perfact. Brunch was pretty good as well. Five-star praise!
A. C.
Nice food. Very fast food and plenty of seating
K. A.
Great spot for breakfast
Really enjoyed the coffee, and food was perfect.
K. A.
Good food and coffee, but not great, and such a long wait!
J. W.
Suspect the chicken we had last time expired as it tastes terrible. Coffee was ok.
C. H.
Food and coffee are good but their service is uncoordinated and slow. Have waited 45 minutes for coffee on previous visits and still got incorrect order.
L. G. (.
New: Still good value and quality food!
Old: Good value all day breakfast.
B. K.
Great breakfast! Loved the range on the menu, great coffee, and their chai tea was brewed in milk. Lovely and warm inside, too.
S. N.
Music playlists are mixed up of all genres, great food and coffee are on the mark.
I always get a double serve of Bacon and Eggs. Fast service and plenty of seats for a good size crew. Big bonus it opens at 7 is Monday to Friday.
M. V.
Really nice freshly squeezed juice, waffles and coffee for brekky
J. M.
Really great coffee...Some of the best in Canberra (bit if a coffee snob). The shopfront itself has some really awesome vibes and you can small the coffee instantly when you walk through the door but if your in a rush theirs a section they open up to serve you so you can quickly take it away on your comute to work.
The coffee itself is reasonably priced, and the cafe staff are super nice and friendly.
r. j.
The coffee is consistently good, made to detailed order, which I appreciate. On the last occasion we had a vegetarian toastie. It was big enough to share (on that occasion) and tasted great. The service is friendly, and the outside seating wonderful for people and their dogs.
M. D.
Super busy but totally understandable, food was decent and staff were so hospitable, price is a little over priced and the only available table about 10am on a Sunday were wet still from last nights shower which was a little disappointing.
T. C.
Love dropping in to the Roasters to pick up some beans and have a chat about all things coffee. My personal favourite: Smith & Evans, with an occasional rotation with Moonshine and Mojo Rising. All are excellent, just different.
And thanks for being open during these challenging times
B. J. (.
Wet/sticky chai (essentially: loose leaf chai infused with honey) was on point: tasty, spicy and creamy, and it's a pretty trendy fitout with a somewhat Melbourne vibe ... but the drinks (aforementioned chai and a flat white) took over 10 minutes to arrive, and the place didn't really seem that busy. I've been to plenty of places with same amount of staff and level of clientele (or even way more) and the drinks have taken only a few mins.
D. S.
Excellent place, can't beat it for the snacks and vibe. Coffee is great.
T. A.
Excellent and very friendly service. Great coffee... just what you need to get the day going!
A fantastic bunch of people working here making the atmosphere just right!
L. S.
Love this place. Excellent coffe, fantastic food.
N. S.
Great coffee and food if you like a busy open location. Great outside. I still love the one down the street more if you're taking your time.
M.
Don’t come here if you are in a hurry. Long wait and drinks served at different times. Finished my drink before food was out. Food did taste great. Ok prices.
R. V.
Great food in a hip atmosphere
V. T.
Nice foods and environment...
m. b.
Nice place, the breakfast was average and pricey on the other hand. Good coffee and cool vibe.
J. K.
Best breakfast ever.
Awesome music and atmosphere
Great patient and welcoming staff
Would give it more than 5 stars if I could
Haven't stopped raving about the place since me and my group of 10 went on Sunday morning.
Definitely will be my go to coffee shop for breakfast whenever I am in Canberra. Despite it being packed out they still found room for my family of 10 including 3 rascal kids.
H. N.
Great food, lovely atmosphere and excellent coffee :)
I. r.
Great price, fantastic coffee & also big food portions. I can only highly recommend this cafe.
P.
I cannot forget my first day arrived in Canberra and had my first meal in this special cafe, many years later, it still gives me the same surprise experience. Amazing place to go! Highly recommended!!
S. B.
I really enjoy breakfast here. Great coffee and a nice food selection.
S. G.
Awesome food, Great vibe. The staff were very nice.
R. J.
Great outdoor area at the front, excellent for kids. Fantastic coffee and well priced food with fantastic service - my toddler left a cup behind and the following week one of the girls not only kept hold of it but remembered us and asked if it we left it behind
A. L.
How special is this rustic little place! Make this your breakfast stop, I did for both of my mornings while visiting, an absolutely delicious selection. Friendly, service oriented staff. Yummy chai lattes too 😊
A. A.
Great breakfast choices and the coffee rocks
D.
Great coffee, big breakfast was very tasty and quite sizable
a.
tasty food but heavily understaffed and food takes long time
staff doesn’t clean up table and we had to move the dishes to another table which was stacked with dirty plates
water had stuff floating around in bottle
I. B.
Do not come here for anything except their coffee- which is not even exceptional itself. They are always busy (who knows why???), even with overpriced and mediocre food that takes extremely long to come out, as is even the wait for takeaway coffee. If you must try this place, try best to avoid coming on weekends.
A. H.
Look at this pic and tell me what is this shit? No coffee art and taste was off. It's really gone downhill since I used to live in the state. We got the KFC and the eggs Benny too. The KFC did not even fill my five foot wife up. They've also removed some items off the menu so it's lacking in some options.
Suggestions are to show more passion and attention to details. It's not acceptable to have no coffee art in your coffee when you've got cafe on Lonsdale St.
B. M.
Staff and friendly and helpful. Coffee was pretty bloody good. Breakfast was pretty good as well. Only bit I didn’t like. Was paying extra for avocado and only getting a real average serve at best. But other than that, definitely worth a visit.
N.
Very popular & busy.
Kitchen ran short because of to many people.
M. G.
Coffee Coffee Coffee!!!! They also do great food, especially the breakfast burger 🥰
D. M.
The best egg and bacon roll in the world.
G.
Sat down for a coffee and brekky - coffee was fantastic, food was delicious and the staff were amazing. Had a brief chat with Pat and Alex (baristas) and the lovely girl named Lillie who served me. All outstanding staff - I will be back!
M. T.
Cool retro look and feel. The breakfast menu is great, the service was good and our food came out quickly.
The coffee is pretty good too.
Only issue is therees no baby change table in the toilets. Could be a little more family friendly.
J. M.
coffee was good - bit milky for me though. service was fast. groovy place
M. L.
Great coffee, good food and excellent service.
P. S.
Funky cafe serving great coffee which it roasts itself out the back! Fun & friendly staff. Plenty of seating options in the big open indoor area, or in the sun or shade in the 2 big outdoor areas.
P. R.
Cons:
Staff Ain’t courteous enough.
Don’t serve tables.
Don’t greet people on entrance.
Do not show them the way to their seats.
Pros:
Drinks and Food are very good. The only reason the 3 stars have been saved here.
J. P.
Great vibe and great breakfast! Coffee is really good too!
N. C.
I stopped for breakfast. The coffee was good but the food was a bit average. I realise it's still winter but it was freezing cold inside.
M. R.
I like the laid back atmosphere and outside seating. Service is fast and friendly. Coffee is decent as well. Most of the coffee shops here are competent so its hard to differentiate quality of the end product. Being a foreigner it would sure be nice to get a press or pour over somewhere.
M. A.
This place has picked up it's game. Nice coffee, nice staff, quick service and delicious food.
G. S.
One of the best coffee's I've ever had.
G. F.
Coffee is pretty good but personally I prefer other cafes. Trendy and hip place though if that is your style.
S. M.
Awesome place, and great staff. Best coffee on lonsdale Street, and good food.
E. v. D.
Fantastic place for breakfast and coffee. Loads of outdoor seating to soak up the sun.
D. M.
Really nice coffee. Some places struggle to do Almond milk, but not here. Nice quiet atmosphere, I was able to get a little bit of work done whilst I drank my coffee also.
Reasonably well priced, especially for Canberra and with Almond milk.
D. D.
Party of 8 food was good but our meals come out 30 min after everyone else we all ordered at the same time, not enough staff on for a busy Sunday Morning
S. Y.
Nice coffee. They also do many more "customised" drinks. An interesting place to check out.
S. C.
Great food and great coffee. Nice place for a casual lunch. Kid and dog friendly. Parking can sometimes be a issue.
A. G.
Have never been disappointed in the coffee here. My go to when in Braddon.
A. M.
Good food for the price. The choice of decor is unique, and comes together nicely to make a good place to stop for breakfast.
M. T.
Very good coffee but obvious clutter and dust go beyond the kitsch and quiky op-shop experience here
S. H.
Love the coffee and the outdoors and indoor eating areas. Perfect to bring visitors that love coffee.
M. J.
great food good coffee. the chef pays amazing attention to plating each order. will have to come back for sure.
C. B.
Very good coffee.
Bacon & egg roll large with 2 eggs and lot of bacon, very tasty.
Good location and plenty of seating options, I sat in back lane courtyard.
T. A.
Amazing Coffee, we go at least once a day, and the brekky is really good too!
N.
Place is okay, food is good and they have good coffee. Place can use a little TLC.
S. P.
Nice atmosphere but very limited menu with only 'faux' health foods. Coffee not as spectacular as the venue's reputation suggests.
J. N.
Good coffee. Food menu gone down hill a bit
R. K.
Great coffee, great breakfast what more could you ask for.
R. S.
Good coffee. Great seating options inside and out.
H. P.
I wanted to rate this place higher because it seems like it used to be very trendy, but now... Its a bit lame. The servers were a bit out of it and vibe was very sad and dead. The KFC burger was super tasty, however the sauces did make the bun a tad soggy. I would visit this place again if only there weren't so many better restaurants and cafes on the same street.
A. F.
Fine, coffee was OK and the food was good. Nice big space for seating which was welcome as we had our pick of where to sit. The smashed avo and the homemade beans were both good.
T. L.
Visit for brunch base on local review and was not disappointed. Great coffee, nice food. Had a panini and Baby Elvis, which were very enjoyable.
A. O.
Enjoyed a much-needed coffee here following a long drive. Definitely worth a look-in if you're an out-of-towner.
L. C.
Delicious coffee and super friendly staff
J.
Still a stalwart after all these years. Great coffee, staff could be a little friendlier though.
K. H.
A lovely, quaint cafe tucked along Lonsdale St. The coffees and cafe food is delicious, staff are friendly and there's a nice section out the back to relax and have a cuppa.
L. M.
Is a pretty relaxed and comfy vibe in here. Food is tasty and coffee is always drinkable, even if today's was a little weak. All in all, a quality place to eat and be.
J. T.
Great coffee and great beans. Although can be very long wait during their peak hour.
Z. E.
Nice cafe that has its own excellent coffee
R. K.
The service was very friendly and accommodating. The coffee was fantastic!
S. D.
Work just around the cornet and this is my regular coffee shop. The coffee is the best in the area although if you are there between 9 - 11 am expect bit of a wait as they are usually very busy. Overall B+
C. S.
Great in house coffee, awesome selection of roasted, sealed beans for home use as well.
A. T.
Great food and coffee. Plenty of tables and seats including some hidden out back
北.
The sauce was really good. And the egg was supposed to be poached egg but they are also available with scrambled egg. The cafe was so rooming and cozy. Looks like they allow people to stay forever.
P. M.
Very nice food and coffee. Relaxed atmosphere.
S. K.
Looks bit messy, c'mon it's supposed to be that way. The food is great. Fairly priced.
M. K.
Lovely 🤤 Food, condiments on the plate balance perfectly with each other giving a perfect balance to dish. Delicious SPANISH BREKKIE!! Loved it.
And Yeah
Nice 👍🏼 Coffee
J. T. (.
Cozy place, high quality food and service. A little on the expensive side.
C.
Coffee was nice and there good was good. Check out the specials board because it's always worth a look. However it's hard to go past Eggs Benedict with pork belly!
A. R.
Nice spot with ample outdoor seating. Extensive range of coffee, and the breakfasts were solid. Recommend to smoked mushrooms for breakfast!
J. H.
Nice cafe very busy during mornings
C. S.
Good coffee, friendly staff but slow service. Tables quite spread out, convenient for meetings.
M. M.
I like how their canberra centre Kiosk will gladly serve my friend and I 8 large coffees in the space of 1.5hrs and not judge.
T.
Great coffee. Always a favourite stop
D. v. d. W.
food was great, and the venue interesting. It was a bit quiet at the time, the coffee was okay.
k. s.
Loved there poached eggs and latin breakfast.👍
K. N.
Very good coffee. Over-priced, boring fruit toast.
J. A.
Nice atmosphere and the service was friendly
R. C.
Had a great breakfast here with the wife. Highly recommended
s. a.
Great coffee and nice service.
A. L.
Excellent coffee, great food (little pricey tho). Love the trendy relaxing vibe. You can also bring your dog and BYO booze from the bottle-o next door.
J. T.
Coffee was great but the food was nothing to be excited about
P. C.
Great coffee, I also like buying beans for my coffee machine at home from here, I like the Assassin coffee blend. My only issue is that I like to know the roast date and there packing only shows a use by date. Still I can assume its fresh as they seem to move a lot of coffee beans.
L. W.
Good coffee, good physical presence. I love the upstairs area with the tree house feel. The staff don't get mad that I spend way to long there doing uni work. All positives.
S. N.
Fantastic coffee but chilly even inside in Winter!
H. L.
It's a great place with amazing customer service and the food is excellent
A. P.
I love this place. The music was cool and the food was so delicious
O. R.
Great coffee, the Bacon & Egg rolls is perfect, very filling and great value. There is plenty of room to sit inside or defrost outside in the sun. Lovely staff.
N. N.
Good coffee but 10% surcharge just for being a weekend day is dubious. Granted, we could've walked away but the notice wasn't obvious nor were we made aware by the staff. 4 stars for product but we won't return.
I. L.
Good rustic cafe delivering decent food and drinks. Coffee was ok but definitely not the best we had in Canberra, the breakfast we had was delicious.
Good outdoor space to enjoy the morning sun, can get busy with the queue to order on the weekends.
P. F.
A good cafe for a Saturday morning brunch. Popular with good food and coffee.
N. B.
Quality food, great freshly roasted coffee
T. S.
Great food and coffee - had 2 cups!!
M. S.
Very busy. Uncomfortable seating. Tries a bit too hard to be "happening". But the food and coffee were good.
I. M.
Usual good brunch for the area. Good coffee. To much foam on the flat white. Yeah 1st world problem
J. B.
Best hipster coffee shop in Canberra, I wish this was my local
J. T.
Great local roaster, (NOT the “cafe” at the front!), they are a roaster at the back and have coffee/bean sales in their shop up the road too
L. T.
Good fresh bean options, no filter coffee option or batch and very cold inside
R. H.
15 min wait on a capp when it was quiet. Customer service awkward and lacklustre. Barista was pretty downtrodden and gave off tired vibes. Won’t be coming back here for my caffeine fix hahaha. Cafe culture is all about the good vibes and customer service.
S. R.
Unique setting...
The overall appearance of the Lonsdale street cafe is a little scatted with a mix of modern and old mixed into one. The venue it self is not pleasurable on the eye.
Although the food, coffee and staff actually make up for this. I can see how this cafe is generally busy and recommend by the locals.
Fantastic place for a quiet drink and/or meal alone or with casual company.
Look forward to visiting again
R. S.
Bit pricey but good food and coffee
P.
Great coffee (though I think the Hideout makes better coffee more consistently).
It would be good if the staff could get off their hipster high-horse and just be pleasant, but otherwise it's good.
G. J.
Coffee good. Staff need to smile
M. S.
Good food and coffee. Nice open spaces
L.
Fast service good coffee and tasty food
D. A.
Essy pit stop on the main braddon road with ample parking 20 mts away.Cheerful and outdoorsy dog friendly(perhaps cat too;) place with outdoor and indoor seating as well as quieter outdoor seating towards the back. Have a quick take away coffee window, love their brekkies though the chef once forgot eggs in my poached eggs order.replaced with perks ! Friendly staff and busy place.
I. F.
I have lunch here occasionally. I like the big communal table with bar stools, easy to prop up a tablet to check the news. It doesn't seems to get crowded, the food is good and the service efficient. I guess there are lots of other coffee shops around and it can get cold in there, its basically a big tin shed and the wind blows in the back doors if its windy, take a jacket.
C. N.
Coffee was excellent and who can resist the smell of coffee being roasted in the background. It was delicious in taste and smell. Love the 60's kitchen furniture as well. Thanks
D. S.
Great food, great coffee. Loved the corn bread specifically. We don't see much of that in Sydney.
D. W.
Great vibe...nice Sunday afternoon catch up joint🥂
A. C.
The food was yum, but the atmosphere is lacking, staff are a little unorganized and lacking in enthusiasm.
Edit: originally i rated 3 stars (relating to above comments) however i discovered there are two 'Lonsdale street cafes' on Lonsdale street. Apparently they are not affiliated with one another anymore however they both have the same logo. The one that is next to the cycling store is lovely! Staff are great, atmosphere great, coffee great.
R. A.
Nice cafe and good coffee
S. S.
Muesli tasted great. Good coffee too.
M. J.
Great food, best coffee
P. B.
Tasty breakfast...good coffee
w. c.
Good food at reasonable prices - and great coffee. Situated in Braddon, walking distance to central Canberra and the inner northern suburbs.
N. F.
Just went to the window serving the outside takeaway customers, as my dog accompanied me.
Service was quick and courteous.
Coffee (double espresso) was quite good.
Better than a lot in Canberra at the moment.
Most rely on milk covering up very average espresso; whereas this was quite good.
I'll use again when I'm next north of the lake.
D. M.
Just paid $11 for two eggs and one piece of toast, unbuttered. Would be a good price if the meal was good.
J. M.
Coffee and crowd excellent
M. M.
Amazing bacon jam and other delights for brunch, with friendly staff and a sunny outdoor section.
j. g.
Delicious coffee, prompt friendly service.
A. L. F. S.
Good food and coffee! Also pet friendly :-)
L. S.
4 people. 2 meals arrived and 2 came 10 min later. Coffe spilt in saucer. So it's ok but i wouldn't rush back.
M. N.
Usually packed on the weekend and a long wait for coffee but a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine
A. A.
Great food, excellent service, highly recommended.
A. C.
Great food and coffee, terrible (non existent) service
N. F.
Fantastic coffee, great vibe... Definitely recommend...!
A.
Great food but back courtyard grotty
R. K.
One of the best coffees I ever had!!
L. B.
One of the better cafes in Canberra. On par with something you'd find in Brunswick, Melbourne.
P. S.
Good specialty coffee. Definitely one of the best in Canberra.
S. C.
Became a Sunday morning family breakfast favourate. Didn't like it at first due to the eclectic just about to go out of business trash and treasure decore, but the family loved it and it eventually grew on me. Food is quick, good and reasonably priced. Chef and cooks remember you and always have a smile. Many come for the coffee and the bike pants and dog walkers brigades are frequent users too - but don't dominate. It's a real blending of communit, and crept its way into our regular routine.
K. A.
Just had coffee was good coffee
A. B.
Great coffee. Nice folks.
M. S.
Good food and coffee. Nice open spaces
J. T.
Coffee was great but the food was nothing to be excited about
K. H.
A lovely, quaint cafe tucked along Lonsdale St. The coffees and cafe food is delicious, staff are friendly and there's a nice section out the back to relax and have a cuppa.
B. K.
As a fellow coffee roaster, these guys roast and sell excellent coffee beans. Never actually had anything there (eat-in) but takeaway is always reasonably quick.
R. S.
Bit pricey but good food and coffee
L. C.
Delicious coffee and super friendly staff
M. P.
Still good even with the building works next door
H. S.
Ordered a Coffee which I think they do an excellent job of, however watching the barista wipe down dirty benches and then use the same cloth to clean the milk spout on the coffee machine killed the place for me. The staff member who eventually refunded me the cost of the coffee acted nonchanlantly with an inane grin and a condescending shake of his head when I raised the problem with him.
A.
Has a deserved reputation for excellent coffee
D. Y.
Good coffee, great breakfast
S. M.
Good coffee, the food was mediocre
J. S.
Great coffee - speedy service
Y. L.
Gets the morning sun on Lonsdale which is a huge plus. Coffee ok, maybe a touch milky. I recommend the toasties!
M. M.
Just stopped by for a take-away long black - very nice.
N.
Space is large and coffee is good enough to return.
P.
Very nice coffee
D. T.
great coffee and service
G. B.
Great coffee, lots of hipsters and lycra clad cyclists.
E. B.
It was the first hipster place on the Canberra block. But backs up all the hipster attitude with a great coffee.
V. H.
Nice place to chill and have a coffee
H. S.
Ordered a Coffee which I think they do an excellent job of, however watching the barista wipe down dirty benches and then use the same cloth to clean the milk spout on the coffee machine killed the place for me. The staff member who …
d. h.
Eclectic seating ... bit breezy outside but cozy inside
J. R.
The new home of Lonsdale Street's original coffee roasters, this great cafe has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and a tasty menu. It goes without saying that the coffee is excellent.
T. F.
Busy place. Enjoyed their Sourdough
A. G.
Great central meeting spot. Parking is a nightmare around the area sometimes though.
E. W.
They make a lovely Muguccino, plenty of space between tables which is always a bonus.
n. s.
The best breakfast I had in Canberra thanks a lot to the chef
L. S.
Good coffee and pasties in spacious surrounds inside and out. Favours group seating. Relies on CBR free Wi-Fi so can be very slow to useless in high use times. Adequate bike racking. Good bulk coffee to takeaway
T. L.
This is a classic Canberra place for coffee and brekkie, it's been overtaken by other places buts it's still a solid pick.
M. P.
Still good even with the building works next door
S. N.
Pork burger with chips was quite nice. It contained a lot of pork and was messy to eat. But it was very filling. They were busy at 2pm on a public holiday so it was a long wait to order and an even longer wait for food. The toilet facilities were a little limited though. Overall pretty good experience when passing through Canberra.
J. C.
Great coffee and breakfast!
P. K.
Tea was average, as usual. The open doors let insects and heat in. A fly died in my tea.
R. N.
Ambience is good with a large open area, but atmosphere ruined by lots of flies etc. Food okay bit nothing to rave about. Soft Turkish bread was a let down, but fillings were acceptable
M. W.
If I could pick a meal I wanted to eat for the rest of my life, it would be the meal I ate this morning; The Nutella fench toast with added bacon. The french toast was cooked just the way I liked it, the berry compote went with the Nutella very well. The bacon was also cooked to perfection. I recommend getting this meal if you decide on going to this café!!
W. J. (.
Great atmosphere, great coffee
M. E.
Pretty casual place. Bit overdone on the 'retro vintage' look though
D. R.
Lovely food
R. J.
Nice coffee
C. N.
Fantastic place for breakfast, good music and true specialty coffee.
M. W.
Best takeaway coffee in Canberra!
C. P.
Best brew in Braddon! Love the nice bikes hanging on the wall!
D. T.
Reliable and wholesome. Can be cold in winter.
C. L.
Great place in a nice location.
J. M.
A blast from the past in cafe service and culture
A. C.
Coffee still good
K. N.
Beautiful coffee
B. M.
Great coffee.
D. H.
Londsdale St Roasters built their reputation when selling a decent coffee in Braddon was a novel idea. Now Londsdale is more brunch than street, but the Roasters coffee still excels. Londsdale St Cafe sells Roasters coffee alongside mediocre food in a half-finished warehouse. Beware of the bakery treats, they're sometimes stale.
M. A. A.
Love this place. Great vibes, people, and drinks.
S. C.
Love their flatties.
N. S.
All you could wish for in a cafe
P. M.
good breakie
R. B.
Great coffee unimpressive chai.
R. Z.
Great coffee
A. T.
A most excellent coffee shop here in Canberra - they do coffee and they do it rather well if the espresso and the cappuccino I had was any indication. Another indication is a healthy take-away queue (about 10 deep at 10am in the morning and the inside was packed) that clusters at the entrance, and snakes out the door.
Not a helluva lot of seating inside, there's one 7 person table near the back wall (hint: this is where you want to be if you want to face the outside and also, to access the four powerpoints located about head height - the only ones I could locate in the shop), a set of 6 modular tables against the wall (drag em together as required) and another 7-8 person communal one near the window.
On the decor front, it's all nicely done up with wall art (black on cream), dark wood (tables, chairs, the coffee bar), and an industrial chic (polished concrete floors, old coffee sacks, worklights hanging from the ceiling etc, etc.. it's all very cozy. Heck, as you walk down the street you'll be hearing the music and the friendly clink of glasses, psssch of the steam wand, and light babble of Canberrans decrying the latest governmental excess. Look, it's Canberra. It's what we do.

I rarely have more than the coffee, but that is good. The service is much better now - they went through a stage of badness.
