Went for the Jeffrey Smart Tuscan lunch: was fantastic - great food with generous servings! Staff seemed stressed but were really friendly.

Friends and we visited for Matisse/Picasso exhibit, stayed for lunch. Fish and chips was adequate, only three strips of fish for the $17 we paid. Sausage roll was great, chicken sandwich size good, flavour so-so. Roast chicken was also all right. I had the vegetarian bocconcino and pesto wrap, enjoyed it very much. Friendly service but terribly slow on a busy Sunday, took a while to clean up used tables for new patrons to use. Overall, more than adequate, but forced option really, because there are no other well-situated competitors for seniors to walk to in the area.

The outside cafe had deplorable coffee. Otherwise, what you see is what you get, nothing special.

The food was good as was the coffee but the strange arrangements for service when you are eating in are a bit bizarre. I ordered my wrap and coffee together and I was given a service number. My wrap arrived within a minute but it took another few minutes for my coffee to arrive. The cafe was only half full, but the process will really slow down table turnover at busy times.

Although on the pricy side for food the quality and quantity was pretty good. They also do a superb pot of Japanese green tea, and the staff are really friendly. All deep within the bowels of the NGA which itself is a treasure to explore and take in. It gets my vote!

Polite staff and good enough service. Food is basic yet fulfilling. Good range of options, even for kids. Wine selection is small but actually enjoyable. A good end to a visit at the gallery (or interregnum if doing a whole day).

Not nearly as expensive as you might expect given the captive audience. Obviously picking your time wisely will have a beneficial impact on your queueing time. Service was friendly and food came out fairly efficiently. The clearing of tables could be a bit more efficient.

Served very quickly regardless of the fact we dropped in 30 minutes before closing and whilst the cafe was still quite busy. Food came to the table within 5 minutes. Thenscines were well priced to share.

Street cafe is an fantastic place on a sunny winter's day. The Barista brought over our coffees to the table was a beautiful gesture given I was in a wheelchair. Coffee was just a little too hot....... Apart from that it was a fantastic place .

The fresh chai was disappointly luke warm, and being milky made it heavy nor refreshing. Asked the counter server pre ordering, if the chai was presweetened, as I was ordering a slice of cake too - was told no, but arrived full of honey and sickly sweet. Not ideal way to end a lovely few hours roaming the lovely galleries. Ah well. Lesson learnt.

Staff could be a bit more friendly, not that their doing anything less than normal but the location and the people makes it more conversation worthy. The food is not superb, and not worth the money much. The look and view is priceless.
