Comments of Teddy Picker's
M. F.
Arguably the best brunch spot in Canberra! You cannot go past their famous seasonal pressed French toast, but their kale salad is also incredible. For Brekky, I love to build my own plate from their huge selection of sides - their scrambled eggs are the perfect creamy curds! I also really love that their use Redbrick Coffee (best coffee in Canberra!) The team at Teddy Pickers are super nice and the service is always fast and efficient! What more could you want? Indoor and outdoor seating, friendly to solo diners who want to grab a quick bite! Also… if they have their carrot cake you must get a slice! AMAZING
J. D.
An airy, bright and pretty brunch spot. The menu has some interesting food and drink options. The smoked salmon, poached eggs and hot matcha drinks were simply divine!
They’re currently not taking bookings and have a time limit on the table seatings due to covid.
F. M.
Really good avo toast with garlicky hummus, three mills bread which is always great. The batch brew coffee is really generous.
And they have a really nice plant wall. Jealous of the Epipremnum.
C. K.
Food and coffee came out quickly and French toast had a unique texture and taste. Hash brown was so good too. People were friendly and cosy atmosphere.
J. D.
Great food! Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. This is definitely a venue that has a responsible and sustainable focus which was evident from their use of metal straws as opposed to plastic or paper straws. The meals and the food that we ordered came reasonably quickly even with a large number of customers which was testament to the speed and skill of the kitchen staff.
T. F.
Exceptional food and great coffee. Highly recommend the batch brew. We had the green salad, brekky roll and kids bacon and eggs. Hash brown was delightful and a worthy addition. Very busy (we went on a Sunday morning) but staff were attentive and friendly with timely service. Perfect brunch spot for couples and families (plus dog-friendly). Will be back.
J. K.
One of the best brunch spots in Canberra- We had the softest French toast, full of flavours on Avo on toast, and Eggs benedict with real house smoked salmon. Everything was perfect👍🏻
N. A.
Food was quick to come out. I had the French toast which was delicious, one of my favourites!
Staff were friendly too.
A very popular spot to come visit.

Went to Teddy Picker's yesterday morning for the first time for breakfast with the girls. Love the setup of the cafe and that you can order socially distanced from your table without even having to approach the counter. The staff were very friendly however I wasn't a massive fan of the coffee. I ordered a mocha to start which was super bitter. The latte next was better but still not my favourite. The food however was insanely delicious! I had the brekky brisket roll. It is a must try! I ordered a side of hash browns as well and was not disappointed. Will definitely be back!
I.
Wonderful settings and welcoming staff.
A very good variety of choices on the menu with average prices for most meals.
Avo on toast was abit of a let down because the bread was so tough to cut through, other than that the flavours of hummus, labneh and the crispy chickpeas was a lovely combination.
Baked beans dish was cooked beautifully and the serving was very filling.
Split bills are accepted.

The staff are always friendly. The salmon brekkie is one of my favourites however a little disappointed with the warm mango smoothie and the size for the $9.00.
S. C.
Brunch at Teddy Picker’s is a real treat. It’s a little bit out of town, but worth the ride. There’s a generous outside area which is perfect for patrons and their pooches and the inside is split over two levels so we don’t have to wait long for a table. Staff are super friendly, there’s a relaxed vibe and the food is hands down delicious. The coffee is good too. Do not miss the Brekkie Roll - it is epic!
I. S.
There was a queue at the counter for the morning coffee rush but no one in the dining section to direct us. We decided to take a table and looks like we did the right thing.
I ordered the signature hot chocolate and cold brew. The hot chocolate while appealing was lukewarm and did not melt the marshmallow which was disappointing.
Food was alright. Getting the Benedict Hack (variation without the muffin) wasn't worth it. The hash browns were nice and potatoey but lacked any crunch factor.
M. S.
Excellent food and coffee. Friendly and helpful wait staff. Very reasonable pricing.
I had the beef brisket brekky roll which was not only delicious but also a nice variation from the run of the mill breakfasts seen at most cafes.
The coffee is sourced from red brick espresso - a local roaster . It is fantastic.
The only thing I could possibly criticise is that the music was slightly too loud.
I will definitely be going back to teddy pickers.
L. B.
Teddy Pickers is one of my favourite places in Canberra. I often see staff from other cafes here so if that isn't a seal of approval I don't know what is!
Food and coffee consistently excellent, they also do some delicious teas.
Can get very busy so arrive early if you can, however if you have to wait for a table there is one of the comfiest couches for waiting on its almost disappointing when you have to get up!
A. S.
I had the special Chai not the coffee but I imagine the coffee would of been amazing too. The Avo on toast was so good..under seasoned but there was salt on the table so all good.
N. S.
Delicious lunch prepared with quality fresh ingredients. Interesting drinks selection it was hard to choose. I had a lovely herbal blend served in a beautiful teapot. I'll be back.
B. B.
Fantastic service and very nice breakfast and great coffee! Best place in Canberra for Breakfast!
Z. E.
One of the best cafes in Canberra. Food and coffee is consistently delicious af!
S. K.
This is absolutely my favourite Cafe in Canberra. The food is always so tasty, wholesome, nutritious and cooked perfectly.
The chef here is always so accommodating and friendly, and the coffee is devine!
Definitely my happy place for breakfast and brunch! :)
A. S.
Last week I was literally running to my next appointment when I realized that I was hungry enough to eat a horse. Teddy Pickers was nearby and I thought I would duck in and grab some cafe food. Below is a very average photo of the most delicious Bircher muesli I have ever eaten. I kid you not, it was life changing. The service was fast and there was some sort of lemon protein ball that was amazing (the magpies that I shared the crumbs with also agree with this conclusion). Well worth a stop at, I need to actually get back for a proper meal and coffee now.
K. L.
Very nice chicken burger. I will definitely try other food next time.
N. M.
We have been there for breakfast and brunch few times. One of Canberra's best cafe. Young, fresh, innovative and also well executed classics. My favourite their eggs Benedict and the pulled brisket sandwich. Something for all there and a great coffee. Highly recommend it.
J. M.
Food: I had the Lamb Shawarma and it was pretty bland. Although the meat was tender and juicy, it was lacking in the taste department. I was also expecting a wrap, but I got a deconstructed shawarma instead. I also ordered Teddy's Hot Choc, and it was pretty good. It came with a giant marshmallow that I thought I could take on in one bite, but I almost choked on it.
Service: The food was served pretty quickly, and I don't have anything negative to say about the staff.
Price: It's quite expensive to be honest. You can get better food at a lower cost somewhere else.
E. R.
Friendly service, clean and tidy cafe with yummy coffee... but only a small menu with meals on the small side too. Check the menu before you go to see if anything appeals to you. Dog friendly seating outside which is good!
J. W.
Great atmosphere with a contemporary menu, but still with enough staple items to keep the unadventurous eaters happy. The Vermont Chai is amazing, too!
L. H.
Great brunch spot. Food was fabulous. Only lost a star because of the haze. Kitchen needs a better exhaust.
C. D.
Great food and drinks, and friendly staff. Handy to have an option to order your food and drinks via QR code from your table.
E. P.
Teddy Picker's has become my favourite Canberra breakfast spot. (I even came here for breakfast on my birthday.) The coffee and tea are always excellent, the prices are fair, and the service is friendly and quick. If you have despaired of finding good, proper Eggs Benedict, let me tell you Teddy nails it. Properly runny poached egg, vibrantly sweet/savory ham, a FAT English muffin, and smoked-salt hollandaise combine for the best E.B. I've had since I left the USA 17 years ago. Their French Toast is also brilliant--the cloudlike yet pudding-y texture is something I've never encountered anywhere else. I never leave without a Vermont Maple Chai and the crunchy paprika-sprinkled hashbrowns. Applause.
J. W.
All very tasty food. Nice place to chill out and lovely service. Serves County Valley milk #adoptacow
T. R.
Lovely place with delicious food and good coffee.
The system of ordering by phone sadly diminished the dining experience as there was no interaction with staff which meant there was no sense of the personality of the cafe.
N. J.
Thought I'd had some great eggs benny, but this was a step above! Soooooo good! And tried the nitrogen infused coffee. Can definitely recommend
G. B.
Delicious food, we went there for breakfast with low expectations after a pretty disappointed experience the night before and we loved it. We ordered the Mexican breakfast and Avo toast with poached eggs and both dishes were amazing, they have a big selection of teas as well, I recommend walking in the rain.
The service and atmosphere is good too, we didn’t have to wait long for our food.
We will be back!
R. Z.
Great food, excellent staff, nice atmosphere only dislike i would say is the lack of available parking in the area.
M. M.
So good I took my lactose and gluten intolerant wife here for coffee and French toast. Oops!
L. F.
Great atmosphere and the breakfast I had was fantastic. Would come back for more!
K. H.
The French toast was quite good. The scoop of strawberry gelato with it was a bit sweet for my taste; two scoops of the excellent vanilla would have been better.
The burger and chips were really good - we especially liked the chicken salted chips - but not quite hot enough. I suspect they waited a bit till the French toast was ready so they could bring both dishes out together. I'd rather the dishes came as they were done so they were warmer, but that's just my preference. In any case, both the food and the service was good. Would come again.
J. A.
I keep coming back here time and time again and it's always excellent. The special soba noodles are a must as is the goddess green salad. The coffee are always beauty and they have an amazing tea menu. Vegan items are clearly labelled with lots of substitute and great your own options. Really wonderful staff and an overall cool place with a good vibe and banging tunes.
C. A.
Went here for brunch and loved it, was able to order using online app and then order was brought to the table. Would recommend the scrambled eggs.
T. P.
Food was good, and the service quick and friendly. They managed to find space for a large table outside with pretty short notice. Downsides, food is a touch pricey even before the weekend surcharge (which hopefully means they pay their workers properly, so that's cool). They had blankets for outside, but no heaters, which wasn't amazing given how cold it was.
R. S.
Great food and coffee, busy on a Sunday
T. L.
Nice food, good prices. Absolutely next to no parking nearby so it makes it difficult to get here as often as I'd like
F. S.
The salad and the BAE here are amazing. I've always managed to get a seat. It is counter service, had outdoor seating for people with pets and I've seen families come here for food.
R.
Food was good. Coffee was okay. Staff were alright.
T.
Great breakfast roll. Amazing coffee
R. W.
Amazing eggs benedict! Honey glazed ham with a smokey/lemony hollandaise. What? So god damn delicious! The GF loved her breafast too! It's obvious these guys really care about whats coming out of the kitchen. Coffee was also excellent! This place wins breakfast.
M. M.
These guys are awesome. Great vibe, food and coffee. However weirdly I got ham and salmon with my eggs benny, probably a bit too much for me. Other than that, this place is bloody fantastic. Oh, also, if you are like me and are concerned about the environment, these guys are into sustainability. Metal straws are supplied.
C. N.
Pretty good breakfast. Nice vibe. Breakfast menu is a bit of a trap with basic items and add on stuff but not the worst by any stretch.
S. H.
Tasty food at reasonable prices. Diverse crowd. Friendly and helpful staff. Went here for lunch on a Tuesday, had the cheesburger which was really tasty. Others had a vegetarian green curry which was apparently very nice indeed. Smaller fare is available. Coffee was quite good for Canberra standards.
M. B.
Super friendly staff, lovely location. Coffee was great, the breakfast... although wonderful and tasty, was very expensive for what we got
L. C.
Coffee is consistently good but breakfasts are uninspiring and all require additional sides to be worth eating. Honestly though, the worst bit is the constant fog of cooking grease/smoke inside. Get an exhaust fan for goodness sake!!!! I have left this place a couple of times just smelling like old grease, it's repulsive and not unacceptable
A. P.
I've been twice now for brunch. While it was quite busy, we never had to wait more then 2 minutes to get a table. Great selection of coffee, specials always sound amazing (I ordered the Pikelets!). Fun, relaxed staff, cool tunes, gorgeous decor and plants. Being a Campbell local, it's awesome to have a great spot so close to home.
O. K.
I always enjoy visiting Teddy Picker's for coffee and weekend brunch, and make a point of bringing visitors here. The menu is interesting and the food is consistently tasty and well-presented. The coffee is excellent, and I would go as far as to say that it is the best I have had in Canberra to date. Service is friendly, and often has that 'student-y' casualness to it which is befitting of the venue's general vibe. Bonus points for the dog-friendly outdoor seating area!
B. N.
French toast with sorbet was brilliant, and the tea pot comes with a timer for optimal brew.
S. W.
Great food and nice coffee.
I've rated a 3 because the wait staff are absolutely terrible and obviously didn't want to be there.
Gf got stung by a wasp and the staff had no interest in protecting other patrons from getting stung. We caught it on the seat but I thought no it has a nest up in the roof.
A. B.
Had a lovely Eggs Benedict w smoked salmon. Rather unique, fresh and home made (in a delicious way).
Had the dog with us, he was welcome too.
S. T.
This place was nice enough but I was pretty disappointed with my french toast. It was more like custard than toast, which is not my thing and not what I was expecting.
H. P.
Cozy place and amazing food. Highly recommend the french toast and the breaky roll. The take away bircher is also great.
A. Y.
Had great breakfast and coffee, lovely staff too!
J. G.
We started visiting this cafe because they have nitro. Now we’ve tried their great food and awesome baked treats - brownies are to die for. The staff are a nice bunch, particularly the lovely lady barista with the long hair - she gets to know your name and your order - good ol’ fashion service. Really my review is 4.95 stars because the new autumn menu is lacking my beloved açai bowl - I’ll get over it. Eventually.
S. D.
Had the breaky roll, really well done almost melts in your mouth. Great hash browns. Milkshakes are a treat too.
M. S.
Food was great. Although we did find the wonderfully crispy chips were a bit salty. I'd ask for unsalted next time.
M. W.
Cracking chicken burger and even better coffee. Staff were fantastic and very friendly. I want a job there!
J.
Food is good and staff are friendly, its in a good location. I didn't love the menu, found it a little limited especially because only have is breakfast and the other half is lunch (at 9 in the morning I'm not so keen on a cheeseburger) and little pricey for breakfast in Campbell. In saying that, what I ordered was delicious and I got quite a lot of food.
D. H.
Amazing breakfast and coffee this side of the lake
M. S.
Still amazing 8 months later with a new menu. Food is varied and excellent. Coffee is great too. Staff are friendly and welcoming. It's like the cupping room without the fussiness
T. E.
Pretty good place. I go here with my wife every so often for breakfast. I like the codfe and the food is pretty good too. I liked the modern semi industrial feel with the bare concrete and the book shelf is cool. Have a look and see what books you can find
O. L.
Ok, so these guys aren't the cheapest around but you definitely get what you pay for. The Halumi burger is perfect. Fantastic flavour, awesome textures and it's just the right size. I've had it a few times and it's never been bad. Pulled pork pita is brilliant and they had a duck sandwich as a special which was divine.
A. V.
Great brekky and bacon & egg roll!
V. E.
I had the egg benedict with smoked salmon. The English muffins were nice and fluffy, the sauce hollondaise had a great flavour and the salmon was just delicious. The interior of the cafe is really pretty and staff is super friendly
C. C.
Had a delicious breakfast. I like how you can create your own plate from the way you want your eggs to a few additions or a full breakfast. The tea selection is extensive and scrumptious.
A. A.
nice chicken burger, good service
C. W.
Just had the tastiest Eggs Benedict, and a pretty good coffee. Was quite busy this morning... But service was outstanding and super fast even though they were very busy. We'll be back for sure!
H. W.
It is just ok. Coffee is average to good. Food is average to good. Service for breakfast was a mix of cheery but inattentive, and grumpy (I am looking at you, barista). Having said that, it is one of the better places I have been in Canberra, but this ain’t melbourne
A. T.
3.5 Stars - Disappointing meal experience, don’t order Vietnamese Pork unless you enjoy feeling like your mouth and lips are on fire.
In Canberra visiting my husband’s brother and wife and came in to Teddy Pickers for lunch today with much anticipation (after getting decent T/A coffee yesterday morning and being impressed with the menu and space, combined with positive reviews from the in-laws).
Lots of the menu items were appealing, but I settled for the ‘Vietnamese Pork’ dish. To my great discomfort and surprise, when I started eating it, I could barely continue because of the amount of chilli. There was no mention/warning of the spice level of the dish on the menu (unlike the brekky roll which clearly lists red eye chilli mayo and jalapeños, and when tasted against my dish by my husband, was comparable in heat level). The pork was well cooked and with the cabbage and herbs the makings of a refreshing dish, but the chilli level was ridiculous (I would say I have a moderate spice tolerance, and both cook and eat foods regularly with spice, but don’t intentionally have something ‘hot’).
As I hate food wastage, I continued to eat my meal but did not finish as it really wasn’t enjoyable.
As no waitstaff checked on us whilst eating, when paying, I told the waitress that they seriously need to change the labelling of the dish as if it was not at all enjoyable and if ordered by someone who can’t tolerate chilli, it would be inedible. She was very apologetic and agreed, nothing else was done.
Really disappointing as everyone else enjoyed their meals a lot. Also pretty dumb as the situation could have been avoided with even a single a mention of ‘chilli’ or ‘spicy’ on the menu (at which point I would have enquired about the level of spice), and I would argue it displayed a lack of ability in creating a balanced flavour in the dish.
P. T.
This is Canberras next foodie heaven. Coffee and food will rival that of any Sydney or Melbourne cafe.
Absolutely awesone. Staff are fantastic. The owner's are totally invested in their customers and will make sure your experience is one to remember
Get on board this place is awesome. Cyclists are always welcome.
Pete

The avocado toast at Teddy Pickers is 👌 and the coffee is excellent. Despite being across town from where I live, I'm there at least once every couple of weeks. Never too busy, just keep in mind that parking is a little tricky due to construction next door.
J. H.
good value, good range of food and nice flavours. Salad was great. service could use a little work but otherwise good
A. w.
nice services nice decoration. But the food does not reach 4.4 stars, it’s lower than a standard 4 stars brunch place, really disappointed! should work harder on the food.
P. S.
Service was quick and efficient. My brekky roll was delicious and Carolyn's eggs Benedict were delicious. The ham was thick and had a delicious smoky flavour. Go and try for yourself.
L. H.
Service, coffee and setup all good, shepherd's pie special was so salty I could barely eat it - I use salt liberally so I am rarely bothered. It was also rather oily and had no redeeming features.
S. T.
Great food and brunch. Good start for the war memorial walk, but I wouldn’t go out the way to come here. Service was friendly but no proper system to seat customers lining up for a spot.
A.
Show stopping breakfast. Flawless.
M. J.
Always great service, food and coffee. You can order anything of the menu, it's all good. Our favourite Canberra breakfast place.
A. G. (.
If you like familiar and friendly staff, a touch of the hipster style, and a variety of menu options, you'll like Teddy Picker's. The location is the gulag area of Canberra, close to ASIO and a suite of new apartment developments. But you'll find the warmth of the interior a nice contrast to the winter bleak of the local. Try it in summer and you'll have a vista of some nice trees.
M. G.
Stopped by this cafe this morning, wonderful coffee, cold brew and service. The menus (drinks and food) were extensive and well price. Would highly recommend this establishment.
T. M.
Great coffee and amazing food, especially the porridge! We are never disappointed with breaky at Teddy's
M. K.
French toast is just amazing! And the brekky roll is one of the best in Canberra!
H. B.
Best cafe in Canberra! Do yourself a favour and get the avo on toast! Perfection. The hot chockies are amazing too.
1. 1.
Great food, amazing premises and lovely staff. Probably a little on the expensive side, but nothing to break the bank. Service was quick and the ingredients are fantastic. The brisket was deliciously juciey.
D. H.
Great food, coffee and staff. We have our regular work breakfasts here because of the quality
A. H.
Extremely good filter/batch brew coffee. I like to consider myself a connoisseur of eggs benedict; theirs with smoked hollandaise has to be one of my favourites
s. O.
Consistently excellent coffee, vegan and coeliac friendly menu, dogs welcome with water bowls provided, and lovely staff who always seem happy to be there.
M. N.
Good coffee. Visited several times, the coffee was amazing once and just good the other times. Nice ambience and easy parking.
S. M.
Service is amazing!!! Absolutely love the food. The lamb salad is out of this world. Highly recommend teddy pickers!
S. K.
Grabbed a Bacon and Egg roll takraway and it was good. Won't need lunch I don't think 🤔
M. T.
Coffee was strong and yum. I ordered scrambled eggs with avocado and my companions orders eggs Benny. Both were delicious by the sounds of it.
G. C.
Good coffee, delicious food that can be enjoyed by people with all kinds of dietary requirements, and really lovely staff :)
L. E.
Food was fantastic, Avocado with eggs is a great combo. Coffee was great too and I love that they are so dog friendly.
I. T.
One of our favourite canberra brunch spots - always delicious.
C. A.
First time. Will return. Great venue, fast service, beautiful food - YUMMO! Teddy does good grub.
C. L.
Best breakfast in Canberra without a doubt. Fantastic coffee.
J. H.
Cool place reflective of Canberra's quality when it comes to its cafes, albeit overpriced. Service is good, as is the coffee.
J. R.
Nice place serving average breakfast and (apparently) good coffee. Service is well-intended but mixed.
M. M.
Great coffee, great relaxed but attentive service and some of the best brunch and lunch I’ve had in Canberra!!! Keep up the great work.
A. E.
Eggs Benny had way to much maple syrup couldn't finish it. Coffee was good
Z. C.
I got a side of $5 hash brown, at first I was thinking damn $5 hash brown why world. Then the hash brown come out. Beautiful potatoey crispy triangle heaven. Yah that's a $5 hash brown, worth every damn cent
A. O.
The service was amazing and so was the food! The good came out quick and they have the best hot chocolates in the world

Y. A.
Staff are friendly. Coffee is good. However it’s overpriced and waiting time is a bit longer than expected
J. K.
Lovely place, great fun teas and delicious fruit toast!
D. A.
If you want a good coffee and the opportunity to mingle with public servant spies then this is your place.
A. A.
Good coffee but very expensive breakfast. And please give us the option of eggs on toast!
J.
Great service, great food. Parking difficult in that area, but totally worth it. Friendly service too :)
M. L.
The most friendly wait staff, incredible coffee, delicious menu - such a pleasure.
P. G.
Single origin coffee lovers have to come and explore. Beware of your need to say no, I will have to try that one next time.
L. L.
I strongly recommend French Toast, but satay noodles is kind of weird.
B. R.
One of the best eggs Benedict's I've had in Canberra.
