Comments of The Museum Cafe

Recently visited Museums to experience the Ancient Greece! Visited the Cafe for lunch.
Museum Cafe has loads of sweets options. Perfect place for all Sweet tooth lover 🤩 Plus they serve light lunch to full lunch options. It is great to experience lake side view while having your food. Indeed marvellous ambience.
In frame, chicken salad, which was shredded chicken served in a open wrap with Hummus on top some fresh veggies and and mouth watering 🍟 fries. Plus Agnus Beef Burger 🍔 😋
Do explore this place if you have not tried any food here. Its a great experience😀👍🏻

Very nice cafe inside the Australian museum. Menu has vegan and dairy free options. We had a delicious soy latte and vegan Thai style pumpkin soup served with sourdough. Food was very nice, Nice ambience and beautiful views. Staff is friendly and service is great.

Great views out of the balcony and large selection of food. Love the Greek theme and lots of vegan/vegetarian options too!
K.
A small but pleasant cafe within the Museum. Plenty of food options available and lots of seating, both indoors and out. The snacks and coffee were reasonable and we didn't have to wait long.

Best lunch I've had post-lockdown. Got the lamb filo pie which surprised me with the authentic Greek flavours to pair with the Ancient Greeks exhibition. This was a large serving and the shoe string fries were perfect with a home made feel to them.
Went on a busy weekday but was in no rush. Lots of staff were around. Food seemed to come out quickly. Overall was worth it due to the quality of the food and view of the river.
L.
Very nice view sitting outside, but it was raining by the time we almost finished, and we had to go 😂
S. M.
Very nice atmosphere beside the lake. Good brunch options.

Wonderful location and quite OK food. The one of the few options to have light lunch at north side of Lake Griffith. The gift shop is also recommended.

I probably wouldn't go to this cafe if I wasn't already in the museum, but it's a lovely setting and vaulted ceiling make it a nice place to have a meal. The food has a few light options like soup, but the majority of the meals are bread based or have bread in them. I like bread so this is fine with me, but you might go hungry of you're celiac. Also, you might go hungry of you're a big eater. Portions are small and prices are high. The food is delicious but there's not much of it.

Amazing view. Great coffee, good food and quick service. 10/10 will visit again!

The view of the cafe was amazing. It overlooks the river and the bridges which is always fun to look at.
The service was fast even though there was a huge queue. That was very impressive. However unfortunately I can not say the same about the food. The food was average and tasted just ok. The coffee on the other hand was really good. So I would stop by just for coffee rather than food.
If you're going over the weekend expect a huge crowd with you coffee though...

Beatiful Sunday lunch in the outdoor area of the Cafe before taking in some of the exhibits. Views to the lake. Polite attentive staff and quick service. Tasty inexpensive lunch options.

Love this place great gift shop with a lot of Australian made clothing, handbags, cushions. The Cafe always have nice light lunches great display of cakes.

Food is really good and healthy. It does get very busy on weekends but well worth having a bite to eat and a drink. Staff are very friendly and professional.
A. S.
Busy during peak hours, we had to wait for a while to order our food. Food was delicious and add on was the lake view in
P. P.
Museum was quiet today with a limited food menu but we still enjoyed catching up with friend. Looking to find the WA myrtle Hypocalimma angustifolium in the native garden before the entrance.
S.
Located inside the museum, well priced for such a location, prompt service and good quality meals...a gentleman who seemed the manager was kind enough to set us a table where it would be more comfortable for the group due to a very hot day, yet giving us options to choose

Good coffee, brownie was delicious, pastrami toastie was alright. Nutella Italian donut was a good size. Views beautiful, but the cafe might nerd a refresh of furniture. Staff handling everything well considering the after Christmas/tourist crowd. May be more peaceful and enjoyable on a weekday. The menu had great choices with reasonable prices. Will definitely be back
H. B.
Excellent coffee and sweets to accompany. Efficient and cheerful service. Throw in the views and this place is just great!
K. B.
View is nice, service is fast, staff is friendly but bit over priced for quantity and food taste OK, Quesadilla was a blunder made like a tortilla wrap!
P. B.
Went here for breakfast yesterday. Yummy food and a seriously spectacular view. Reccomend as a good as surprisingly well priced cafe in Canberra.
K. S.
Nice food and cakes. Very friendly staff and amazing view

Always yummy. Today we tried a couple of the toasted sandwiches, $12 each. One was spiced pumpkin, red capsicum, haloumi and other veg and the other Indian spiced potato and veg. Both really nice - we couldn't decide which one we liked better. And the view is beautiful.

The best coffee we had in Canberra finally. We have checked the so called best coffees in Canberra since arriving from Melbourne and this place betters the top five we checked out. Good food and friendly service in a great position. I would give it five stars however it is order and pay at the counter. We will be back again.

Good cafe in a very scenic location of the museum overlooking Lake Burley Griffin. Has a good selection of cakes and cookies together with coffees and fold drinks. Breakfast menu is available to 2.30pm and offers a small selection of items including a Halloumi and egg burger for vegetarians. Lunch menu is also a small selection though decent such as salmon with sobs noodles. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Has to be one of the best locations for a Cafe in Canberra and they occupy some very prime real estate within the Museum. The food selection was reasonable and the staff were very pleasant and efficient. I liked my pancakes but our granddaughter loved hers! The coffee was good and the service was quick. You can understand why the Dragon boaters pop in for a snack.

The Museum Cafe is a lovely cafe tucked into the corner of the National Museum. In the morning it is lovely and light, with beautiful views across the lakes to the National Library. The staff are very friendly and the food is tasty.
J. O.
A gorgeous location to spend mother's day. The food is delicious and the servings are generous. Friendly staff. Fabulous views across the lake.
A.
As always food and staff is fantastic. Recommend to anyone.
A. Q.
Great food, good service, stunning views and immaculate set up, a bit pricey though. Be nice to see more options on the menu for kids.
L. S.
The Museum Cafe is a consistently good cafe with the added bonus of having striking views across Canberra's Lake Burley Griffin. The menu is simple and caters to a mainly combo of voracious children (chips and junk) but doesn't forget that adults now prefer light meals. Staff is always pleasant and the wifi is free and strong.
H. U.

A really lovely peaceful and beautiful views place. A nice walk to it from the City along the lakes edge to get to it.....nearly 10000 steps return. Just do it.

Good food, but the service wasn't friendly at all especially by the lady taking orders, seemed she didn't want to be there and wasn't helpful at all.
H. M.
Decent food and nice view but hopelessly slow service; we waited 11 minutes for two cups of coffee and it wasn't even lunchtime.
T. B. K.
Some people complain about the staff but everytime I visited the cafe, they were very friendly and gave very fast and great service, no complaints.
